https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2369105054

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2369109405

So.

■ verschiedene Waffen
■ erinnert leicht an Halo/Half-Life und ganz weit entfernt Dead Space

Call me crazy but I decided to give this game a thumbs up.

Don't get me wrong. This game is far from good. But is is not bad either. It's a standard late 2000's low budget FPS. It's competend in what it's trying to achieve - it's a more action driven Doom 3 clone. Story is forgettable at worst, and hilarious at best. I actually got to like the characters, especially Arnie. He's cute. I have a soft spot for heroes sporting mustachios. Love them.

The game can be completed in 5 hours, it's sold for less than $5 so I suppose it's worth the money, if you like throwback shooters.

I finished this game with no cheats on normal difficulty and l want to list all pros and cons.

What l really liked in this game:
1)Fun shooter from 2000s. Enjoyed it;
2)Not repetetive. Here you shoot, solve puzzles, use elevators, drive train, drive car, hack doors/cameras/robots;
3)You can pick items and throw them away at any possible distance or just put them down (small feature, but l just LOVE IT!);
4)Funny Italian prospector;
5)Bullet time (although needs improving) and you can lean to shoot;
6)No checkpoints;
7)Optimisation;

What l didn't like:
1)AI is too strong and too stupid. Enemies are sharpshooters and give too much damage, but their reloading speed and bad AI helps us;
2)No regeneration of health (at least would be nice to add it at easy difficulty?)

Small cons:
-Too inear;
-Cut-scenes (although you can skip them);
-Bad voice acting (although it's better than nothing);
-Driving physics could be better + you can't run over your enemies by a car;
-Having allies that shoot with us at least for a few minutes would be nice.
-I really wish for a bigger destruction of environment;

I'm glad it lets me skip the cutscenes even on a first playthrough (seriously it's nothing special and they drag on for too long and are too frequent. People want some space magic thing so there's some backstabbing).
Even on Normal difficulty it will kick your ass if you stay in the open for too long.
Otherwise if you can remember to lean a lot then you'll probably get through.
It feels like it was trying to merge F.E.A.R. and Doom 3 style gameplay together and it just... well it tried. There's far worse than this but in a way it was kinda fun to get through in the 3 hours it took me. For the $1 I spent while it was on sale I'd say that's fine enough.

The AI in this game might be the craziest i have ever seen in a game. They do not miss any shot at all and even when they run while looking back and blindly aiming, all of their shots hit you. Its super frustrating and really difficult but other than that its just another bland FPS

Alpha Prime (2007)

I do enjoy these type of games where you are on a space station and you need to find out what happened there. So this game got some good and bad elements. Some of the good stuff is when you are outside you need to keep an eye out for oxygen stations so you don't suffocate and you need to look out for ammo and supplies to help you as you move forward. There are a total of 10 missions so it does take a while to complete.

Some of the bad stuff - the AI tends to cheat as they are sometimes insanely strong and just kill you strait out, forcing you to load a previous save. It can get frustrating at times. There are also some other small elements that tend to bug out from time to time. But I will say the game runs smooth, the enemy design is ok and it was overall ok game. Rather get it on a sale if you enjoy space station shooter type games.

What a game! :D
This game is just something. At first I couldn't stand it. Whoever voiced Paolo must have been so much not into this thing that he was trying to sound bad. When the game moved forward from that character it seemed actually almost decent.
The chapter where you get to ride the buggy was probably the worst, driving mechanics were awful. Might've just been me but the story was pretty confusing, I don't think the developers had planned the story with a clear sense of direction. Also npc's mention mutants in this game, but I saw only one, which was the final boss battle, rest of the enemies were either human or robots.
Enemies in this game never miss their target, only when there's something in the way, the slow motion or bullet time ability helps you only if you want to be more precise with your shots, you definitely can't dodge a bullet. In some aspects this game tries to copy Half-Life (definitely with health stations).

Overall I don't recommend buying this game. I only played it because I decided to go through the games in my library on Steam that I haven't played. I probably got this in some Humble-Bundle deal. You can buy better games in the price range of this game.

It's decent. The controls are janky at times (jumping and the buggy). The feeling of not knowing who exactly to trust is pretty good. The enemies have god-like aim. The voice acting is awful. Bill Murray as a badass space miner, what's not to love?

Alpha Prime is a sci-fi FPS that is featuring the anti-stormtroopers. Seriously, they hit everything. Their hitscan is so strong that your special slowmotion ability is useless in most cases. I'm convinced that the reviews would be more favorable if the hitscan anti-stormtroopers were less accurate. What got me hooked in this game is the story. Despite the terrible voice acting, I was invested in this game and I was never fully sure whom I could trust. I wished more games were like this.

Alpha Prime has its moments if you can bear facing the anti-stormtroopers.

Ain't that bad as it might seem at first. Just remember to quicksave as often as possible (because you get killed really fast and the game crashes pretty often too) and make manual saves once in a while in case you quicksave right before you'll get killed.

Lol this game was sitting in my library for 6 years and I only now managed to beat it.

Overall, it's a decent FPS. The graphics actually hold up pretty well, especially in the indoor areas. The shooting is decent, enemies will bleed and turn into ragdolls as you pop them from corners. Your weapons are very accurate and tight, but so are the enemies's, they have essentially pin point accuracy. Which is where the divide with this game comes in.

You can't run in with your guns blazing and kill your enemies in a single hit. You have to peek from corners and chip away at enemy squads. It's decently balanced enough thanks to healthkits and ammo being somewhat plentiful, so you can actually beat this game without the use of quicksaves. Though your bullet time effect is quite useless and nothing like the one from F.E.A.R

Music can be surprisingly okay sometimes. The story is very, very boring. Expect 5-10 minutes of back and forth dialogue of your characters just standing there and talking, yeah, it's not good.

In conclusion. Alpha Prime is not a bad game, it's just very different from the other FPS games of it's time. Would it have been a much better game if it played like F.E.A.R and the like? Absolutely, but it still holds decently well and is kinda fun. It won't take that long to beat either, about 5-6 hours. Pick it up while it's on sale for cheap and you have nothing better to play and see if you're okay with its slower paced combat.

Alpha Prime is a eurojank FPS which is kinda a Half-Life 1 mixed with Far Cry 1 clone

There's some good things about it so let's just list those: Variation in characters, that was quite nice actually. There's also, similiar to Half-Life, some puzzle thinking in taking routes and finding hidden spaces. The ending was actually surprising and not what I expected, I did like that.

What was less good? Everything else.

What was bad? The voice-acting was hilariously bad, but it was so bad it kinda become enjoyable.

So in conclusion I do not recommend this game, maybe not even for the lowest price on sale. Unless of course you want to torture yourself through this.

About half way through and I'm enjoying Alpha Prime. Many negative reviews note that enemies never miss. Not really true but close.

1) Game has enough health in the form of health packs and health stations to support A.I. accuracy.
2) Game has a slow-down mechanic to possibly mitigate extensive damage.
3) If your you're going in guns blazing even with (2) you will be stomped. The game forces you to adopt, yes a strategy FPS and it's more than decent in its implementation.

Shooters have A.I. with different degrees of accuracy. Some are go in guns blazing, Alpha Prime ain't that. Most likely your failure rate will be significantly high. You will F-Bomb the game and then hit the reload button.

For a 2007 FPS, still looks decent and supports 4K resolutions.

I couldn't remember buying this game so I didn't expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's obviously inspired by Doom 3 and F.E.A.R. in its visuals and gameplay, and it's a solid competitor. It's definitely cheap and it's pretty clear that English was not the developers' first language with the clunky dialogue and occasional grammatical errors in the subtitles and HUD, but nothing gets in the way of it being a good time. There's a solid challenge here too, but one that never felt frustrating. There are probably similar but better games you can get for the same price, but if you're curious about a mostly-forgotten yet surprisingly good mid-2000s FPS, I highly recommend it.

6.7/10 - Severely underrated sci-fi FPS

For over a year, I withheld from buying Alpha Prime, because of the negative reviews. Then, on the so many-eth 80% off sale, I realized that this game was never again going drop to a 90% discount, and I had to cut knot of whether to buy the game or remove it from my wishlist. I took the gamble and discovered that I should have bought this game a year sooner.

Alpha Prime is an enjoyable science fiction first-person shooter, that can be quite challenging at times. It is what I like to call a 'trial-and-error shooter', because it requires smart saving (luckily there are two quick save slots) and much reloading to learn where enemies, ammunition and health are located in each area (and be able to get to them in time). In this sense, I was reminded quite a lot of the Star Wars Jedi Knight games.

The controls are tight and intuitive, and evoke the feeling of the classic Call of Duty games, for me. The graphics have aged well, the visuals being a cross-over of Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy and Mass Effect (there is also a Mako!). While the voice acting is mediocre, the story is sufficiently entertaining (despite being thoroughly predictable) to look past this, tie the gameplay together and motivate you to continue. (I think some reviewers were expecting the next Nobel literature laureate from a $5 game...) Finally, I was surprised by how competent the AI was for such an old and budget game.

The game sets up the possibility of a sequel that I don't expect will ever be made, but which I would like to play. Black Element should consider working on a game together with Astronomic Games (the makers of Pegasus-5: Gone Astray), I think that could result in a very interesting science fiction FPS-RPG.

So, is Alpha Prime really worth $5? Yes. Yes it is! But if you can wait, you should pick it up for $1 (it's on sale several times a year).

This is actually pretty good. Looks like Doom 3 with monsters replaced by army guys. Plays like the generic older shooter that it is. Pretty good. The story is ok. Some of the acting is pretty goofy, the cut scenes are often put together poorly (can seem to go on and on... because they do). But the shooting is pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. Overall not as horrible as I thought it would be. Totally worth one buck. Maybe even five? I played on easy and that felt ok (maybe equal to medium on a newer shooter). I'm less sorry I played this than some of the other stuff I've played. I'd give the story and presentation like 4/10, but the gameplay maybe 6.5/10? Pretty cheap fun. The driving level was fun. Some pretty level design here and there.

Occasional small glitches. But the best / worst was I came back into a room with a chopped in two corpse and the sucker's torso was just bouncing everywhere, wouldn't stop. I watched it bounce around the room ridiculously for a while and eventually just left. I can't promise that this awesomeness will happen for you, but you never know. One dollar well spent XD.
