Über das Spiel

Paris, 1789.

• Alternative Helix Welten zeigen uns wunderschön Paris in verschiedenen Epochen

Legenden und Liebe:
• Tolle Liebesgeschichte Pariser Art
• Der Beitritt zu Assassinen ist toll gemacht
• 18 Jahrhundert wir treffen z.B. Napoleon

Well, I have to say that Assassin's Creed Unity is really a Fastzirindens game of the old Middle Ages. You can see really well how things were going back then, etc. The game is definitely recommended to anyone who likes something like that. Thank you!

from the first I can say that I find the story with best from the series. the city of Paris has been beautifully portrayed and the people there too. one of the best games I have ever played and I hope also since it is already a few years older, even if it is still great that maybe a remaster comes.

Was finde ich gut:
- Die Story fand ich in Ordnung und sie macht auch Spaß (halt die typische Ubisoft-Formel)
- Die Grafik ist richtig, richtig gut. Damit hatte ich bei einem Titel aus 2014 nicht gerechnet
- Schöne Spielwelt mit vielen Quests
- Bewegungen, Animationen
- Detailgrad der Spielwelt und die Spielwelt wirkt sehr lebendig (insg. tolle Atmosphäre)

Was mir nicht gefällt:

Game was attacked by bad reviews especially by buggy release but it is revolutional (in all ways) and very good.

It presents a new AC engine which is beautiful. Story is great and main character is excellent.

Revolutionary Paris is beautiful and it is in my opinion the best made city of all AC games so far. The bunches of people are walking on the streets and squares and it feels so alive.

Not as great as Black Flag or AC2 but excellent game.

Even though this game, was really laggy and full with bugs when it released.
Right now I would call it one of the best ac games of all time.
100% worth your money! But I have to say if you wanna play online, search your self a group bc game finder sucks rn.

Great game, the map will randomly disappear and so will the mission markers, but the combat is good and would probably be better with a controller rather than keyboard. Voice acting and graphics is cool and has aged pretty well for a 2013 game.

It is annoying when you lock onto random walls and start climbing them without meaning to and sometimes it looks like there is a place to jump to, but there is not apparently. I have no idea why the hair in almost all games is rather terrifying, it's quite unrealistic and plastic looking which is weird since everything else looks great.

The co op is a bit buggy sometimes too, but it's not unplayable. I really like the setting of The French Revolution and the NPCs are pretty good.

The side missions get in the way a bit and it can be difficult to find the main story, especially when the makers refuse to appear.

To begin with I was very confused by the way skills work, but I worked it out in the end, possibly the fact I changed a lot of controls before I even played properly has something to do with this.

Would recommend to most people, maybe not at the full price though since it's quite a lot for a 2013 game, but it's a very good 2013 game.

The last truly great Assassin's Creed. A masterpiece of combat, movement, exploration, and an extraordinarily dense open world. I would give up visiting Egypt, Greece, and being a viking in a heartbeat if it meant the series returned to this formula. I look at Origin through Valhalla and I see the butchery of a once great franchise, a truly captivating fantasy. Now, it's reduced to garbage RPG loot and a movement system that's worse than the first game in the series.

literally the best game ever, and it is also the last assassins creed game that is actually about assassins. The graphic is phenomenal, talking about a 2014 game comparing to game nowadays, it is still looked cool, the storyline everything, i enjoy the new parkour mechanics, and also love the extra missions that you can play co op with ur friends, its actually good to be honest, but i enjoy playing the missions in private. for those who like story open world stealth game, well, this game is for you.

I got into Assassin's Creed with Odyssey and then Origins, and I can safely say that I like Unity just as much. This is the best looking game I've played from 2014, and 8 years later it still holds up to most modern standards. The controls are fluid, the crowd simulations are exceptional. I love the stealth mechanics a lot, and after having come from the new AC games it fells very refreshing.

My only complaints lie with the UI/inventory management systems, they feel like they've been ported in from console and are extremely tedious to use - it takes me 8 clicks to reach the weapons selection.

Never experienced any crashes so far, so whatever patches this game has had seem to have fixed the issues that I keep on hearing about

Now I have to give negative criticism like everyone else, but ...
In my opinion, this game had a strong core and very good mechanics compared to its time, But it suffered from technical problems
If at that time you gave a negative review and complained about this title because it is not as good as old ACs, what do you think about the new versions of this series now? :))

Decent assassin's creed game, a big issue with the game in my opinion is the movement in this game. on keyboard or controller sometime it feels like arno is on rails and the free running becomes kinda infuriating. the co-op mission diversity is nonexistent so if you are getting this to play with your friends i would say don't. But solo dolo and the game is on sale, yea why not. ohhh and before i forget the stealth on this game is real and is one of the reasons i'm actually trying to finish it.

Ahh, AC Unity, the ugly duckling of 2014, the number of game breaking bugs and glitches this game had were just insane. It was the Cyberpunk of Assassins Creed.

However 7 years have passed and I wanted to try it myself so i got it a few months ago.
Now TLDR: This game is a solid 8.2/10 and definitely worth giving a try.

Now the Pros: France during the revolution is a great setting for an AC game, it is extremely well designed and graphically stunning even by today's standards. The parkour in this game although very unrealistic has quite a lot of depth to it, It is also extremely fun and has a great learning curve, something that has been completely simplified in the recent RPG style games, The game also offers a ton of customization options to perfectly design Arno according to your style, talking about Arno, he's a good protagonist overall, very charming and likable but later changes cuz of circumstances, The tools and different ways this game offers to assassinate a target is just awesome, its not something as deep as Hitman or Metal Gear 5 but it certainly works well enough to immerse you into the ways of an Assassin. The combat also was wayy better than the super easy counter kills of the previous titles or the crazy button mashing of syndicate, it is more like fencing and it was quite cinematic at times and not a walk in the park which made you use stealth a lot more, The game also has a DLC called The Dead Kings which provides new and slightly varied content and was quite enjoyable overall, There's also Co op in the game which is pretty cool although i haven't tried it myself

Now for the Cons: Although a lot has been patched, there are still a few glitches, not game breaking or anything but they can certainly spoil the experience at times, Next is the performance of the game, it is terribly optimized but maybe with some of the more latest hardware, it might work well, Next the story is okayish, it is just kinda there, initially tho it starts really well but then just turns into your regular revenge story,

VERDICT:
Ubisoft decided to have this game as a co-op friendly, I could see this working but sadly I was far too late to enjoy this side of the game since they closed the servers down. At least I got to enjoy the campaign which is where it's always at in my opinion, I think they've done well with this story where as the past couple of titles haven't really lived up to my expectation so i'm giving credit where it's due!

Now for the not so good side, they've lost a bit of magic when it comes to the parkour, the running and jumping side is still up there with the other Assassin's Creeds as well as climbing down buildings but when you want to climb up one? Sometimes Arno doesn't listen to where or what to climb up on which can be the difference between life and death. The other downfall is obviously you can't play co-op but that's down the age of the game, not Ubisoft.
Total Score = 89/100.

Assassin's Creed franchise

GAMEPLAY:
It is the eighth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, and the successor to 2013's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. It also has ties to Assassin's Creed Rogue.

The plot is set in a fictional history of real world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control. The framing story is set in the 21st century and features an unnamed and unseen protagonist, who joins the Assassins as an initiate to help them locate the corpse of an 18th century Sage before Abstergo (the modern-day incarnation of the Templars).

The main story is set in Paris during the French Revolution and follows Assassin Arno Victor Dorian and his efforts to expose the true powers behind the Revolution. The game retains the series' third-person open world exploration as well as introducing a revamped combat, parkour and stealth system. The game did have a cooperative multiplayer, but has been shut down for some time now.

This is a honest review,it a masterpiece. Why is?Because is a fantastic game, parkour+amazing graphic+a realistic world full of people on streets, and the story is awesome. The customization is very good in this game, and the best of this is the combat,it soo scaryy,it like a terminator at full upgrades on skill tree.Worth buying at full price, mine work like a charm with a leptop from 2014 gaming and high,so is optimized for low pc and i don't see one bug or glitch in this game,so buy now and kill playing this awesome game with your friends coop.

No one can deny the disastrous launch of this game. In the very beginning, it was completely unplayable and for a while I swore up and down that there was no way I was going to find it any better if I ever decided to even try it again. As it turns out, I could NOT have been more wrong.

While it's still not quite on the level of the universally renowned 'best' entries, AC Unity makes some notably satisfying design choices with the flow of it's sword play, and the dynamics of it's unique parkour system. Additionally, the pure beauty of the game's visuals and graphics cannot be overstated. Personally, I would call this one of if not the best looking entries in the Assassins Creed saga, especially after 7 years since release.

For those who were also severely turned away from Unity's horrible launch, you really should give the game another chance. It really has gotten a WHOLE LOT BETTER. 7.5/10

i tried playing online with my friends and its a complete mess, we can barely even join eachothers lobbies and when we somehow do after 30 minutes of trying we either get disconnected or some stupid glitch happens. there were three of us and only two at a time were able to play at the same time for some stupid reason. do not buy this game if u want to play multiplayer with ur friends cuz their servers are absolutely horrible and ubisoft doesnt care about their customers thats why ac origins onward isnt even a ac game

ACU is even though its at the moment already around 6 years old still pretty good the only things that arent good is the main story it wasnt bad but it was not good at the same time it was okay.
Besides the story the only other problems for me were that some of the collectable items were a bit to many and i had some bugs like that my settings when i started it for the first time were 300x300 which wasnt my real setting.
The only problems were cases of bugging between some things and a enemie that couldnt be hit but could hit me by the way he wasnt even defending at that moment (i could fix it with a smoke bomb).

In the end i want to say some tips for new Players that never played a Assassin's Creed before and that i recommend everyone to try this game i did get it for 5€ thanks to the summer sale

Read everything besides the history of some things since you get this way Tips already from the game and loot enemies since this helps replenish your items and lets you not waste money on the Shop

Assassin's Creed: Unity has always had the reputation of being the black sheep of the franchise, and it had big shoes to fill. Coming out after the superb Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, which took the series to the high seas, and Assassin's Creed 2, which many fans still consider the best, it may never have been possible to reach the top.

However, Assassin’s Creed Unity also was a massive undertaking. It was the first game on a new series of consoles. It added multiplayer and attempted to expand the map to a massive city, and all this while trying to return the series from the pIrate adventure of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, to the original core experience of crowded city streets.

Assassin's Creed Unity has problems, but what struck me as I’ve finally played it in 2021 is that there are so many different and distinct parts of the experience, nothing was like what I heard anyone describe. When it came out Unity was considered unplayable, but now it seems Unity has been refined into a flawed but full experience.

The most unique feature of any Assassin’s Creed game will remain its story. The setting, themes, and characters will always be important, and this time around, based on a new generation of hardware, Ubisoft thought the larger crowd technology would allow them to use the French Revolution as a backdrop.

Visually France looks good, and there are large scenes, set pieces, and moments in the game. The problem is Unity’s story seems to drop the ball. Our main character is named Arno, he was born to an Assassin who is killed in the first scene of the prologue, then taken in by a Templar, who is also killed early on to send Arno on a quest for vengeance. And then you suddenly find out the Templar’s daughter is also a Templar.

This last point is just told to the player, rather than being part of the narrative. There was one point where she said “I’m a templar you’re an assassin” as if they were different races. At this point, neither character had been outed as belonging to either group and it just set an attempted dichotomy between them as if their factions were already decided and both were defined.

After the opening of Assassin’s Creed 3, fans had wanted a deeper look at the Templar faction, but while Rogue attempted and failed to deliver on that, Assassin’s Creed Unity falls back into old patterns so hard that it forgets to establish those patterns, and just treats them as foregone conclusions. Assassin’s good, Templars bad, the main character is an assassin because he always will be.

Yet even that could have worked if the rest of the story could tell an interesting tale involving the French Revolution and the Assassins and Templars fighting throughout it. But rather than intertwining the story with the Revolution, or using Unity as a chance to educate or play with the French Revolution as a set-piece, Unity appears to just treat the French Revolution as a drapery.

I think Unity’s story’s biggest flaw comes from the company that made it. Ubisoft is a French company with French employees who probably know quite a bit about the Revolution and felt like namedropping a few major members of it would be sufficient. Assassin Creed: Unity doesn’t attempt to address the ongoing revolution or situations behind it. The revolution and causes of it are a non-issue for the game, and because of that, it’s almost possible for players to not even realize that the Revolution is going on because so little time and focus are devoted to it other than as a setpiece.

It’s a shame because over the twenty hours or so the game takes, Arno the main character becomes less interesting as the story seems to treat him as a character moving through another game’s story that isn’t explained, rather than one tied to it. Even when the game focuses on his quest for vengeance and his interactions with the Assassins it's hard to care about any conflict in the game because every character and group feels like they haven’t been set up. It's just the foregone conclusion that everything is in place here as they always have been.

The one thing that saves Assassin’s Creed however is its attachment to the same formula that has continued to give the series a lasting appeal. Stealth, combat, and assassination, and for the most part Assassin's Creed Unity continue to give fans what they want.

Arno can assassinate enemies stealthily and slip away into the night without another word, and once again the experience feels great. While Arno starts a bit weaker than he could have, adding the ability to assassinate two targets at once, and his gaining a few new tricks throughout the game quickly makes him a formidable foe.

The only problem is that Assassin’s Creed Unity seems to take delight in making their upgrade system the most confusing I’ve seen. Players don’t just earn experience points and level up. While level-up systems are a bit of an eye-rolling expectation in the first place, Assassin’s Creed Unity decided to make players get skill points by completing the story missions or multiplayer missions. While the latter will get dissected later, the story missions are a good way to earn these valuable skill points. However, after a few critical upgrades, most of the skill purchases I made were more due to the number of skill points I left unused rather than a specific desire for the ability. A dual assassination kill was important, more health, more co-op abilities, or that ability to lock pick that was never required was disappointing.

The major change to the formula is the ability to equip Arno with rifles and larger weapons, however, the sword and pistol were efficient enough to never require changing, and while I tried the long-range combat for a single mission, I didn't find it to be a radically different or better experience. The different weapon styles seemed like an attempt to create a more interesting battle system, but very little of it seemed useful or important to the gameplay of Assassin’s Creed Unity, and that felt like the big change Unity was pushing for the single-player content. A change that was never really explored outside of a single mission.

There is also a detective-style mission where Arno travels around, investigates a murder, and decides who is the murderer, but almost every time, the murderer was quite obvious after gathering all the clues, so it became a reason to read some in-game text and just point the finger at the most obvious suspect.

The bigger issue with the gameplay is one of a changing style. Instead of a single-player experience that players are used to, more multiplayer styles have leaked into the game. Players are no longer monolithic characters, but now have a complicated level system that takes numerous factors to decide how deadly the player is. This includes the number of skills purchased, and which weapons the players are using. Those weapons allow Ubisoft to offer microtransaction.

There are three major microtransactions. The first is unlockable equipment that might be able to be earned in-game through slower progression. The second is unlockable maps for the game (that originally were part of the in-game monetary system in Assassin’s Creed 2). The third purchase is a group of boosts for multiplayer.

I won’t go into this further, I often say “All microtransactions are bad”, and in this case, they are included in a mostly single-player game. Nothing here changes my opinions, they’re still terrible, and Ubisoft continues to disappoint at the length they’ll go to try to steal a few bucks from the consumer.

Probably the best AC game before the new combat system that they introduced in Origins, I like being able to change loadouts, different armour gives different stats, and lots of weapons to choose from with different fighting styles. Plus online co-op missions are unique to this game, still worth the buy even today

Almost 7 years later, Assassin's Creed Unity is a game that I look back on with fondness. While the characters are extremely lackluster, and the story is pretty dull overall, that's not what I remember so fondly. I remember the world, the graphics, the combat, the exploration, and what Ubisoft did with the setting of Paris France during the French Revolution is genius. I don't know why there was so much hue and cry about glitches, I never encountered one, once or twice maybe, but that's it. nothing game breaking. Despite being rated one of the lowest games in the franchise Ubisoft created, Assassin's Creed Unity is criminally underrated nowadays.

- The World is the most alive world I've ever seen in a video game. The world feels lived in, and you can almost smell the smells, see the sights, and feel the sun on your skin as you walk the roads or run the rooftops.
- The controls, while clunky feels genuine. Having very well-animated parkour that actually feels genuine compared to other entries in the AC Series.
- The graphics are still amazing to this day, and at times this 7 year old game looks better than 60% of AAA games out today. They really pushed the next-gen hardware to in limits in just a years time.
- Combat is also clunky and difficult to get used to, but fair, and it's that way for a reason. One of the major gripes pre-AC Unity was the difficulty of AC games. Counter, and continue to button-mash the attack button for insta-kills.
- Customization of Arno is simply amazing. Tons of outfit combinations, but maybe you just wanna look like Altair? They got that.
- Stealth is very, very, VERY, satisfying.
- This game to this day is not bug free, be mindful. Weak rigs also suffer heavily in this game.
- Again, story isn't very exciting, but the voice-acting is pretty good, and Arno in general isn't a horrible character, the pacing and all the other characters are handled are the major gripes.

Overall, recommend to anyone. It's not for everyone, but still a lot of fun to be had.

Gameplay — AC series have 3 main gameplay pillars: parkour (traversal/navigation), stealth, combat. I can say the Unity is the best in every part of it, and many people would agree with me, that the game have best parkour (defintely speaking of animations, not navigation input, because in this people prefer Ezio trilogy button input responsivness). Combat in Unity had very great potential with its slow pace to develop in future games, but unfortuntately, its idea was abandoed by the developers.

Visuals — graphics of this game still amazes everyone nowadays after 6-7 years after release comparing to new AAA games.

Story — is rather short, with a tons of cut out content (sadly). Many people think it`s bad, but actually it`s just short, so the characters stories are not fully uncovered. I defintely recommend you to read simultaneously with your walkthrough Oliver Bowden book Unity as it depicts in deatils the life of main protagonist-ess, whilst the game plots really lacks that.

Characters — as come out from story section, due to the very short game plot, characters are not developed enough through the plot progression. As mentioned above, to get acquainted with Elise story background, it`s better to read the book with game progression.

Music — soundtrack is great, although some people prefer Fat Cry 3 composer`s soundtrack to Black Flag.

This review is part of a series, so it is more of a comparison to the other games rather than an individual review.
Play time: 10-15 hours

Story: 4/12
The pacing of the game and story is just all over the place. Sometimes you feel like it's too fast, other times it's too slow. You don't see any of the characters long enough to form any sort of connection with them, and you just end up being bored because you have no motivation to complete the game since you don't even know why you're doing it.

Setting: 4/12
Although on the surface, Paris during the French Revolution seems like a great setting. It isn't. At least, the execution was horrible. The city isn't memorable, the crowds are glitchy, even to this day, and some while some things such as the underground tunnel network are interesting, they don't save this game from getting its low score.

Combat: 11/12
The combat is easily the best thing about this game. The variety of weapons makes it really entertaining to try out different things and see all of the execution animations. It's worth mentioning that for the first time since Revelations, Unity tried to incorporate a multiplayer element. Let's just say there's a reason we haven't seen it since.

Missions and side activities: 2/12
Unlike most of the previous games, the side activities and collectibles serve absolutely no purpose in Unity. I would argue that they're even more painful to look for than those in Assassin's Creed 1, and that's saying something. The city is incredibly hollow, and once you've finished the main story, there's nothing to do.

Assassin: 3/10
Arno is just a regular person with a bit of vindictiveness. That's about it. There's some tension with his love interest as her family belongs to the Templars, so there's a little Romeo and Juliet thing going on, but that's about it. Arno just kind of exists, with little purpose or meaning as to why he even bothers with what he does.

Overall rank: 3/12
When I was doing my campaign of Assassin's Creed games, Unity was the only one that I actually had to struggle to finish. It has so many dislikeable qualities and repetition that it becomes a chore to finish. The later stage of the game is just an absolute slog that couldn't end soon enough, and that's really saying something considering it's only 15 hours long.

Assassins Creed Unity had a very rocky start at release. The game was riddled with bugs that were hilarious, annoying, and game breaking. Unity has come a long way in 6 years though. The game is now buttery smooth, no major bugs that I have seen, and it looks beautiful. I'm having a lot of fun playing it again. I played it at release as well, and back then I didn't finish it, and would have trashed it in a review. Today it is more then playable. I love the world it is set in, the streets are alive in this game, the atmosphere is very enjoyable to experience. Paris feels very real here, which makes this time feel accurate and believable. They may have fixed a vast majority of the games previous issues, but I did have some frame drops during some cut scenes, some pop in (kind of to be expected with how much is on screen at once), and clipping issues, but nothing game breaking, and did not spoil my experience so far. The combat is not a major focus here, and the game is instead focused on stealth game play. So no, you cannot kill 50 dudes easily, like previous titles. I mean when you get a lot better gear, yes you can brute force your way through, but for the most part stealth is the key. This entry to the series left a lot of people disappointed, cause, besides the bugs, it came out after the very successful Black Flag. No pirates, no ship, no sailing the seas. This takes it back to a huge sandbox city like the old games, and people wanted more of what made Black Flag so great. Me personally, as much as I love Black Flag, I prefer this type of setting, but that is just me. If you haven't played this title yet, now is a good time to do so, especially right now, since it is on sale. I'm having a lot of fun replaying it.

Well what can I say? Horrible game, there is no boat features and is lacking a huge amount of boats and ships. All the good assassin creed games have ships (Black Flag, Rouge) but this game CLEARLY has no boats and has no intentions of letting you get on boats. Like come on Ubisoft, is it that hard to add some boats/ships? like seriously... Honestly waste of money, get Black Flag instead (because it has boats) I rest my case.

Can't imagine anyone buying this game at full price.

I tried this game and it disappointed me. This game left empty emotions, there was nothing to do in it, no replayability, a very short plot that could be much longer and more interesting. You have a huge open world with HD textures, which is cool, but all you can do in it is parkour (which has already bored you), repetitive tasks and an endless simulator of open chests. Co Op is dead in this game, at least it was for me, I tried to find anybody to play with in search and it always end up being me launching mission solo.

Same engine, same dull people with a little better (or worse/casual) parkour system.

The funny thing is that people are pre-ordered this game and there were a lot of bugs in it, tho didn't find much bugs in game, probably due to fixes.

Absolutely promise to pirate next game, hope you, Ubisoft company, and your friend with the same econimic model - EA go broke. For now just wish consumers to be at least a little picky or the games will continue to be like Cyberpunk.

The problem with this Assassin's Creed is that it is very hated, but the game is not that bad, it's good actually.
If you are a fan of the AC series, you need to play it(mainly for the story).
If you are just a regular person who wants to give it a try, don't be very hyped about it.
Both cases, just wait for a sale to get it.
The mechanics are fine, doing parkour is actually relaxing, graphics are very good(new engine), the combat system is ok.
Like i said, its not that bad but don't expect to be very good and except a lot of bugs.
From me, 7/10.
I hope this helped you, thank you and take care.

Pros-
  • The best parkour system in any of the AC games
  • Brutal, Challenging combat with a large weapon variety
  • Impressive graphics even for today's standards
  • Paris is easily one of the best settings in the series, buildings like the Notre Dame and Conciergerie are beautifully recreated and the streets are packed with NPCs singing, dancing, playing music, fighting, protesting ect that gives the city a lively atmosphere.
  • One of the better stories in the series with a likeable protagonist
  • You can see how the city slowly deteriorates as the revolution progresses, dead soldiers on the streets, burning piles of rubble ect

Cons-
  • Micro-transactions
  • Although it's a lot better than release the game is by no means bug free
  • Optimisation leaves a bit to be desired
  • Some items can only be accessed by doing co-op missions and good luck finding anyone to play with in matchmaking

If you prefer the original style of Assassin's creed games ie AC1, the ezio trilogy this is that formula perfected. It had a bad launch but it's now a very solid game. 8/10

7.5/10, a must try for fans of AC/AC2

A True Assassin's Creed game-

++This game is essentially AC2 with story stripped away, replaced with improved graphics and gameplay mechanisms.
++Really good assassination missions. Enemy AIs are quite smart. With 100% sync it's quite challenging.
-My only complaint is there's no 'whistle' anymore which even AC-IV had. Some essential skills are locked away for half of the game.
+Game worked quite well in 2021 on my mid-range laptop, no glitches faced, graphics haven't aged much.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2375504863

Unique Gameplay-

+THE HUGE HUGE CROWDS. The whole population of Paris is always on the streets, always protesting.
+Parkour has some pretty good animations, works well.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2382199020

Neutral/bad-

+Story is decent, hard to get into but has some good drama, twists and action scenes.
I guess it concludes Sage part of AC lore.
-No noteworthy side characters, just the main two and may be couple of others.
+No outside of Animus stuff, is replaced by some cool levels.
--Congested map. City of Paris feels stuffed as it is with crowds and dense atmosphere. I just skipped all the side missions/ collectibles (except may be murder mysteries).
+Co-op is still active and is worth a try.

First of all, I won't compare this game with another AC series since this is my 3rd AC game that I play. I only had play AC (Altair), AC 2 (Ezio) and AC Unity (Arno).
When AC unity released in 2014, it was a complete disastrous. But now, the game is worth to play. I only face a couple of glitch, which I'll mention below but the game still enjoyable.

+ Nice story
+ Great gameplay mechanics
+ Beautiful and immersive world with lot of details, massive crowd, great atmosphere.
+ Notre Dame
+ Lot of side missions and collectibles

- Overcrowded Map
Because of lot of side missions and collectibles, you'll see SO MANY COLORFUL ICON in the map.
- Glitch
I face several glitch such as stuck in the air while jumping, or Arno stuck in the wall and get an infinite fall. It's very rare to happen, and very easy to fix (just using fast travel will fix it)

And a little tips to those who want to 100% this game: Use your free Helix Credits on Time Saver Packs for Cockades and Chests map, collecting them is a pain. This pack did not effect in Dead Kings DLC, but don't worry it's easier to get all collectible in Dead Kings since it had a smaller map.
I'd only get free 420 Helix Credits so far, and I think I won't get another free Credits anymore. I spent 300 Helix Credits on Paris Stories and Murder Mystery map, and that's a really big mistake and I really regret it.
Without that Time Saver Packs, I spent lot of my time running all over the map using eagle vision searching for the remaining chests/cockades.

Honestly a good Ac game, The story is interesting and main character relatable and funny. I would only recommend this game to someone who is either generally interested to the story line of the Ac games (not as much combat as there are many glitches that can cause issues but when there isnt any combat glitches. The core combat of the game can seem very bland compared to other ac games.) or someone who loves parkour in ac games but wishes it was a little faster and a little more broken. There is good multiplayer in the game but all of the main story missions are single player. Other than that its honestly a good, intriguing game with a far bit of ac lore and information to offer.

I have played every assassin creed game created in the series. Unity is in my opinion one of the best games in the series. I know this game had a rough launch and was riddled with problems when it first came out. I did not play this when it first came out, so that may be why I love it so much. I did not experience the problems now that were present on release. Skip to now in 2020, and they have fixed pretty much all the bugs that originally plagued the game except for some minor ones still present that are mostly graphical.
This game is so underrated. It truly is one of the greatest AC game experiences I have had. This game was very much ahead of its time when it came out. The world and graphics are so phenomenal and gorgeous. There are many AAA games out now that can't even compare to this game graphically. One huge plus is how many NPCs there are. You walk down the streets through hundreds of random NPCs. Most games now don't make the cities feel as real as this game has done. The game set to max is gorgeous.
The game play is great. I love the parkour in this AC game as Arno moves so smoothly as he jumps from one building to the next. The controls were no problem at all with keyboard and mouse. There are so many varied missions aside from the main story that there is more than enough to keep you busy for a very long time. The fighting is also very fun. The swordplay actually requires skill and thought to parry and block. You can't just go around slashing and expect to live. You must use the skills given and taught during encounters.
My overall experience with this game has been extremely positive. The main character Arno is so very lovable as is Elise. Arno is just as likable as Ezio was in my opinion. He is witty and charming and the voice actor does a fantastic job bringing him to life. The story is very good and is easy to follow. Just truly a great experience and one of the best AC games ever made in my opinion. Completely worth playing especially if you love the old assassin creed game play versus what the newer more RPG style play that AC games now offer.
I also must point out there are coop missions as well. With the coop missions I have found that if you do not do coop like me, you can still do these missions as single player as long as your skill level and gear is sufficient. I rate this one 10/10 as there was not one thing I did not like about this game.

To start off, this game was fantastic; it feels very difficult to rank against the other Assassins's Creed games because it is very different from all the other ones I had played. Coming into this game, I would say that either Origins or Black Flag was my favorite game, but this game outdoes those games in two areas: stealth mechanics and gameplay in terms of combat. First off, stealth is much more encouraged in this game and the level design is excellent in how it facilitates stealthy strategies, as the dense city of Paris really is the perfect setting. The combat is probably my favorite out of all the games I have played. It really encourages you to use all the tools at your disposal and upgrade. Like all Assassin's creed games, this is an objectively easy game to beat, but since you cannot rush in and take on 100 opponents at once like you could in Black Flag, it does encourage you to be a little more careful, and that is a great thing for me. For other Assassin's creed games, I really only appreciated them for the story and impressive open world. However, for this one, I really appreciate the stealth component more than in any other game. This game also does away almost entirely with stuff like tailing and eavesdropping which most people don't like which is another plus. The leveling and upgrading is also perfect in my opinion. In Origins, it is a bit too grindy. In Black flag and games before it, upgrading yourself is totally unnecessary because you are overpowered no matter what gear you have. All the gear and unity has specific strengths and weaknesses that you can examine, and then decide to buy whichever one best fits your approach. I also only had one minor bug in almost 50 hours of gameplay. Only downside is that to get all the skill points you need to do co-op missions (which are fun, there just aren't a lot of people I know playing this game) and there is only one save slot and no new game plus. I know you can replay memories, but I would really like to replay a lot of the side missions with all the new tools and gear I have gained. All in all, pick this up during a sale because it seems like AC games are on sale for like 70 percent of the year.

If you want to play an ACTUAL AC game and not whatever Odysey and Valhalla are then once this goes on sale i strongly suggest you get it. Story is more than ok in my opinion, the parkour is the best in the series, combat is fun, stealth is amazing, the customization is the best in the series and besides some buildings being a little blurry in the distance the map is great. 14 hours in i had 1 crash and no bugs whatsoever. Though i must say that sometimes it will feel a little clunky. Multiplayer is usually very laggy which is a shame though sometimes when its not it can be amazing. Overall great AC game

Enjoyed the games setting but not so much the story, revolutionary France was an interesting place to explore especially if you know a bit about the time period and how the character interacts and affect some of the historical events that happen. The story on the other hand was a lot weaker which mostly involves the main character discarding their own volition to simply follow somebody else's story and act as their side character.

Not much to say about the game play aside from it being mostly the same as previous games in the franchise
with a better combat system but still a bit too easy for my liking and the armor customization do add some flavor in the game with how your character look, The parkour also seems to be a lot more fluid now compared to the previous games.

Unity received a lot of backlash when it came out for apparently being full of bugs but i hardly encountered any during my playtime and the ones i did get are not as bad as what most other games have.

Also the multiplayer is surprisingly not dead, you could probably find a game with other people within 1-2 mins of waiting, it works mostly fine but some mission where stealth is essential is kinda bit hard to do specially with 3 other random people who are just a bit too eager to stab something.

With that said i don't think that unity is that remarkable but I also think that its underrated and probably worth a try when the next sale comes around.

The Assassin's Creed series is unparalleled in its uniqueness and gameplay ideas. Where else can you not only walk through every area of a historic city or location in their entirety but also climb each building and see it all from the bird eye's view, in real time?
Once everything is explored and done with, all I want is more content. Unity delivers that and more.

The game has everything of the signature Assassin's Creed recipe - a vast and gorgeous world with collectibles helping fully explore it, stealth and combat, history lessons simplified, a decent story and a charismatic protagonist. The soundtrack is a masterpiece.
It also improves on the predecessors and contains some quality of life changes. For example, descending is now a separate button, making sure that there is no way to jump off a roof and die by accident. Now it is also possible to customize each piece of the character's outfit.
For the first time in the series, there is co-op and it plays well. I just wish it allowed for playing each of the story missions with a friend.

The average game score being Mixed on Steam suggests there is something wrong though. Is the game technically perfect? Absolutely not, but there is nothing game-breaking. The issues boil down to visual pop-in, a few instances of guards getting stuck in one place before finding their way shortly after, and the game lacking optimization, sometimes dropping to about 50 FPS in the heavily populated areas where - for the first time in the series (or in gaming?) - hundreds of people may appear at once.

A Moderately Ubis OLD AC Game !

So it Does Have Optimization Issues !
Crashes Constantly On Starting Mission On windows 10 (Playing with a Solve Win 7 Compatibility Mode )

But the Pros :
1, Yah it does give you the vibe of Real Assasin Unlike Brand New AC Games !
2. Does Have HUD Hide Option ! I personally adore that !
3. Arno Dorian Good Story

There's a particular sequence I experienced in Assassin's Creed: Unity that I think best sums up the whole of my time playing it. I've been tasked with assassinating a shadowy figure who has key information pertaining to the game's overarching conspiracy. He's meeting with associates in a barely lit cemetery, surrounded by enemy guards. Initially I begin to creep around, picking off scattered guards here and there, but then he begins to move and I worry that I'm going to lose him if I don't make my play quickly. So, I descend to the ground and try to find a good position to sneak up on my target. I use the new cover snap ability to press up against a low wall, and wait for him to approach. Then, suddenly, a guard I hadn't noticed from the opposite side sees me. He comes running at me, which alerts my target's bodyguards. I try to hastily leap over the wall to grab him, but the cover mechanic doesn't let me do that. Instead, I have to jump out of cover, then run back at the wall to go after him. At this point guards are running in from all sides. Out of pure instinct, I toss down a smoke grenade, which sends every enemy into fits of coughing. Walking through the smoke, I approach my target and shank him, which results in a cutscene made up of the target's scattered memories. I watch, and wait for my chance to make my escape. When the scene ends, I am returned to gameplay, and turn to make my retreat. There are an awful lot of guards though, so I throw another smoke grenade and thin their ranks a bit, which I am able to do with surprising quickness. By the time I'm down to just a couple of guards, I'm about ready to exit the area, only to have the game hard lock on me. I get to do all of this over again, including watching the cutscene.

This is the story of Assassin's Creed: Unity, a game that presents a number of tantalizing possibilities for top-flight stealth action gameplay, and manages to kneecap them at almost every turn through problematic design choices and endless technical woes. Unity is a game of great breadth and beauty. The first of the series targeted at the current generation of consoles, Unity plops you down in the middle of the French Revolution, presenting a vision of Paris enormous in scope and bursting with seething unrest. Yet so much of that revolution seems to be happening away from you as you navigate the streets and rooftops of the city, plugging away at a plot that's far more preoccupied with a boilerplate revenge story than the violent political upheaval unfolding all around you. Unity is packed tighter with missions, side ventures, and collectible doo-dads than any Assassin's Creed before it, but so little of it is truly of interest, giving the game a weighed-down feel as you try to figure out what's worth pursuing, and what's merely a distraction. And while there are moments of genuine awe in Unity, almost all of them are visual in nature. This is by far the most incredible looking game in this series, with landmarks and characters rendered in unbelievable detail--when they're properly rendered, of course. The most enjoyment I managed to wring from Unity was in darting and weaving my way through the city, taking in the sights and marveling at what upgraded technology could offer this long-running series. When it came to actually playing Unity as it was intended, I found myself most often shaking my head in disappointment.

There are a good number of ways in which Unity fails to deliver, but let's start with its story, which is nonsense. And not just the usual brand of nonsense this series deals in, either. As Arno Dorian, the son of a felled assassin raised by a templar, you are thrust into the middle of an increasingly ludicrous conspiracy when the aforementioned templar is also murdered. Arno is accused of the killing, sent to La Bastille prison, meets an incarcerated assassin who knew his father, and hastily joins up with the brotherhood with aims toward solving those murders. In the vein of Edward Kenway, Assassin's Creed IV's protagonist, Arno's goals have little to do with the creed he swears fealty to. He's a self-interested assassin, which is a story that can be done well, as evidenced by IV's surprisingly enjoyable romp through the world of Caribbean piracy. That game also had a lightness to its story that Unity rarely displays. Arno is initially presented as a bit of a roguish prick, but that incorrigible charm almost entirely disappears the second he joins up with the Brotherhood, giving way to a deathly self-seriousness.

Arno makes some exceedingly poor choices over the course of Unity's main story, but he's not the worst protagonist this series has ever had. The bigger issue is that the conspiracy he finds himself investigating is horrendously plotted. You spend the game darting from target to target, and each killing presents you with another rung on the conspiratorial ladder you must climb. Throughout the story, the writers show a careless lack of interest in contextualizing these targets for you. Sure, you can pull up the game's database and read up on each one if you like, but the in-game story is in a constant hurry to get you to the next scene. Just a day after finishing the game, I'm struggling to even remember half the targets I killed, or what their role in the conspiracy amounted to. Killing them also no longer nets you the confessional conversations you'd get in games past, just a series of hastily edited cutscenes that present pieces of the puzzle Arno aims to solve. Even the characters that come late in the game, the ones that are seemingly built up to be rivals of note for Arno, are barely established by the time you get around to offing them.

There's no shortage of things to do in Unity, but only a fraction of them are especially engaging.
Outside of performance, Unity also has its share of issues with controls. Scaling buildings has never been easier, mind you, thanks to a separation of climb and descent buttons that allow you to safely hop and drop as needed. More often, the issue comes when trying to navigate Arno over smaller pieces of the scenery, or into any window. Arno has a bad habit of getting stuck on things like chimneys, chairs, tables, or anything else that he would perch upon, versus standing normally. Getting him off of those perches can be incredibly frustrating, especially when you're in the middle of an escape. Jumping into windows should be an easy thing, as the game says all you need do is hold down the left trigger while moving toward it. Yet that only works maybe half the time. The rest of the time, you'll jump up, down, and around the window, but not into it. This seems the result of the series' constant streamlining of its parkour mechanics. There's not a lot required of the player to do the insane gymnastics Assassin's Creed heroes are built to do, so the game ends up doing a lot of the heavy lifting by guessing where you're headed next. Unity guesses wrong more often than other AC games that I can recall, which results in the kinds of issues described above.

Those issues can undoubtedly be fixed by a patch somewhere down the road, but that patch seems unlikely to fix Unity's biggest flaw: it's just not very much fun. For all its hugeness and graphical splendor, Unity is starved for excitement. It's much too concerned with a story that feels confused by itself, wasting potentially interesting allies and antagonists in much the same way that it wastes the rich, violent history of its time period. The most interesting missions in the game come far too late, representing glimpses of a better game than the one you just spent hours playing. Even as a tech demonstration, Unity fails to captivate outside of its stunning art design. It's less a signal of the great things this series can do with new technology than an unusually large, frequently malfunctioning retread of what Assassin's Creed is already well known for. Co-op play is the sole saving grace of Unity.

Assassin's Creed® Unity. (THIS REVIEW IS WRITTEN AS I AM A ELITE SOLDIER RANK)
I purchased this game when it was 29.99, not at the current 4 dollar price.
Look, this games gets a lot of shit, some of it deserved. But revisiting the game after playing it in a broke state years ago,
i am suprised. The game no longer has large, gamebreaking bugs. The parkour is the best in the series and that is a fact. The customization of characters is immaculate and amazing. And the combat is not as easy as other games, but thats a good thing. The story is great, and i think its very captivating.
One complaint i have is that the hidden blade is no longer a seperate weapon you can select, it is only used for assassinations and quick kills. Otherwise, Amazing entry in the series.

As of the time of this review, the game doesn't suffer from all the bugs from the release date, but after all these years other problems arise...

First, you are getting to miss a lot of content simply because there's no one else playing this game anymore, so lots of co-op mission will just be impossible to play.
There's also a lot of online things that were disabled that you are not going to experience, I don't really know what these were, but I read online...
Now, for the game itself, it's very shallow story-wise, it's basically a single story, that moves you from assassination 1 to 2 to 3 etc...

If you come from previous ACs, this one added a lot of movement options in the parkour mechanic, but Arno's behaviour to your commands is very unexpected at times, making the experience a bit clunky overall.

On the positive side, ambient setting in this game is very good, even for today's standards, France feels very alive, and graphics are respectable(for the most part)

It's still buggy, though nowhere near as before. The story's still meh, and online's a pain. But these are tolerable imo in exchange for what's not only the finest Assassin's Creed pre-Origins, but perhaps the finest open-world game of its time. Paris is still the gold standard of open worlds sans Breath of the Wild, and the parkour system is the freest its ever been, with plenty of hidden techniques to learn. Couple that w/ the series finally having a sense of difficulty and a much deeper combat system than anything before or after, and what you get is a redeemed, underrated masterpiece.

As most of the Assassin's Creed games, I did like the overall experience of this game. It is a must play for AC fans in general.

Now, perhaps the saga started to loose some parts and some mystique, and playing these games has become a somewhat common standard with Ubisoft games (open worlds, finding -hidden- stuff on the map, doing quests, doing side-quests, doing secret quests....acquiring DLC. This applies to all such saga games, AC, Far Cry, etc.) Still there is a story line to pic up, and lots of historic accuracy to the story lines which makes it above average.

Assassin's Creed Unity is the last 'real' Assassin's Creed game. By that, I mean to say it is the last AC game that bared significant semblance to its predecessors.

Unity is a controversial game among AC fans; detractors point out the disastrous release of the game, the lackluster story and boring world.

Fans, however, consider Unity to be the most refined of the AC games, with the best gameplay mechanics, breathtaking graphics, and incredibly fun implementation of multiplayer.

I fall into the 'fans' category. If there is one word to describe Unity, it's 'beautiful'. Among even newer AAA releases, I struggle to find games that look this good. AC Unity's portrayal of Paris is the most realistic video game representation of a city I've played; crowds of hundreds protesting and rioting the streets, hundreds (if not thousands) of enterable buildings including shops, coffee houses, apartments and palaces, each with bustling crowds of people inside, spontaneous crowd events such as thieves, gang attacks and general dickheadery. The developers of Unity really tried to recreate the Paris during the French Revolution as faithfully as they could. Graphically, both AC Origins and AC Odyssey fail to look as good as Unity (and note, all three were played with ultra settings).

Other than the world, other things I really enjoyed about Unity include the parkour and stealth mechanics, the multiplayer missions (which you can play by yourselves if you choose to - as this is an older game, there are less people online), the detective missions, and the combat system. The combat in Unity is difficult. Of all the AC games, I would say it is the most difficult. It is slower and more weighty than the others, but this all greatly adds to the realism of the game. Unlike in other AC games where mobs of 10 are easy challenges, I found myself often struggling when fighting more than three enemies.

All of these positives do not mean Unity is a perfect game, however. Despite its world being incredibly beautiful and realistic, critics of this game do have valid points. The story did feel rather rushed and simple, especially when compared to other games such as AC3. Other negatives I found with the game include that enemies with guns never miss, the Nostradamus missions at times were way too simple, and at other times way too difficult, and the over-cluttering of the in-game map. Additionally, while money in the game is not hard to come by, especially as the game progresses, I did find myself relying on spending a lot of time grinding ways to generate money in order to keep upgrading my gear and keeping disposable items (smoke bombs, bullets, etc) stocked.

My main issue with Unity, however, is that despite making such an incredibly beautiful world, the game is poorly optimized. Like I said earlier, I played Unity, Origins and Odyssey all on ultra settings, and out of the three I got the least frame rates playing Unity. Also, as amazing as a crowd of 1,000+ people looks, there is a reason most games do not have crowds of NPCs that large; it is very demanding on your PC and GPU. I spent a lot of time watching NPCs rendering around me nonstop, and it is very, very noticeable and very, very annoying.

Before I finish up the review, I want to quickly talk about bugs. Unfortunately, owing to its horrible release, bugs are what Unity is known for now. I am happy to say that in 2020, Unity is a bug-less game. While my game did crash twice, I actually did not encounter any noticeable bugs, visually or gameplay wise, so the developers definitely deserve credit for resolving everything this game had going wrong for it.

In conclusion, I do think Unity is a great game. The only thing holding this game somewhat back is its story. Please note: the story missions are very fun, but the actual story feels rushed. Judging Unity on its gameplay and graphical and world-building achievements, I would have no issues saying that in these regards Unity is the best in the AC series. Were the story and initial release better flushed out, this would be considered one of the best AC games. As it stands to me, however, it is one of my favourites in the series.

(Replaying the series, coming from Rogue)

I've always said this was my favourite Assassin's Creed game and now I remember why.

I've just finished the prologue and I'm already engrossed in the story. This game follows the same vein as the fan favourite AC2. Arno is the same cheeky/handsome/noble type as Ezio and the game is centred around a huge city as opposed to the open sea, wilderness or small cities featured in the last few entiries.

The gameplay itself is improved and much more engaging.
Combat is not the super easy combo kill streak introduced in AC Brotherhood.
Stealth has seen improvements due to the introduction of a cover system, stealth crouch movement and 'last spotted' system.
Parkour has seen massive improvements due to a dedicated decent button, jump over objects button and general improvements. I think it's really cool how you can walk inside a bunch of buildings around the city, using it to get away from guards or just get around. In previous games you could run into a doorway which would take control of your character until you got to the other side, in this game you have full control of this.

The graphics are brilliant, the amount of people you see on screen at once is breathtaking. My only complaint is LOD Pop in but this is to be expected, it still happens in games 6 years later. Only with new Unreal Engine 5 and SSD tech is this changing now in late 2020 (yet to be seen on PC but it's inevitable).

The music is beautiful too, I really love it.

The performance is also fixed now, it's what you would expect from an Assassins Creed game (not easy to run), I'm playing at basically 45 - 60 FPS at 4k (I don't have the best PC Iin the world for 4k gaming, need an upgrade on most parts). I haven't seen any horrible bugs yet, only one time my character's arms/hands clipped through a building whilst parkouring.

Update: As I progress through the story it falls off a bit. I feel like most AC games start and end really well but the middle is always just meh.

I played a bit of COOP, I think it is an awesome feature but could really do with voice chat. If you plan on playing with ur friends it will definitely be cool.

ONE thing I need to bring up, at the start of the game you play as some French knight in the 12th centurary (or something) and I thought that was the most badass thing. I would absolutely love a setting similar to this. I think Valhalla is going to be awesome although I would love to see the Knights too.

Update 2:

The first civ part of the story is a massive let down. Is Juno gonna do something or what? Basically Abstergo is looking for a Sage and at the end of the game you know where the DNA is. That's it. That was the Modern Day & First Civ contribution.

Overall the story is meh.

I'll end on a positive. For the most part the Assassination missions aren't scripted. They give you a massive building/area, a dozen entrances, a few opportunities and then it's up to you. This is a brilliant approach.

+ Huge improvement in graphics over the previous AC game (Rogue) due to next gen roots of the game.
+ When climbing around, parkour mechanics are better. The ability to control general movement up or down with button presses has returned (last seen in Assassin's Creed: Revelations). Running over rooftops is mostly fun again.
+ Lots of mission variety. The investigations are my favourite.
+ The city feels alive, *lots* of pedestrians, bystanders and malcontents

= When on the ground, your character will still jump on random stuff when running around.
= Most (all?) of the serious game breaking bugs present when first released have been fixed (can't give the game a + for that though).

- Parkour may be better, but it feels sluggish
- Lots of broken content. Example 1: Nomad points are defunct because the companion app is discontinued
- Lots of removed content still referenced in the game, very confusing knowing what's what.
- Co-op missions are annoying, just finding other players can be a pain, can't be arsed with that
- The game is a completionists nightmare, artifact collectibles in Helix Rift missions are just ridiculous.
- Overall, the pacing of the game feels very slow, it's actually a bit boring.

In my opinion, Unity remains the worst game in the entire series.

This chapter of the assassin's creed saga is very distinguished by the evolution of parkour and the new online system that in my opinion it really took.
the story is nice but also quite short in addition to and it is possible to do coop missions.
the exploration of the map is not much and the secondary missions are quite repetitive.
I recommend it anyway to know the story of this killer protagonist too. The game will present numerous bugs compared to its predecessors because unfortunately it has been developed with a new engine that has not been up to par.

An absolutely beautiful world thick with atmosphere hopelessly bloated by side filler content so that by the time you finish the story its taken so long you will have completely forgotten what the hell any of it actually meant.

I literally could not believe how beautiful Paris looked and how the crowds and noise made it feel more real than most games I have ever seen even in 2020. Then the hundreds of icons began to invade my map with crappy collectables and I suddenly realize this game had ZERO respect for my time. Then to make it worse I found the mocrotransactions...

If this is your thing then be my guest. But the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. When you have collected your last chest or cockade you will suddenly ask yourself why did I bother???

I've had this game and played this game multiple times on the ps4, so i never got the buggy launch of the PC version.

I eventually decided to get it for PC this year because my ps4 broke so here is my PC based review:

This is the best AC game ever made, gameplay wise. City looks gorgeous, characters look gorgeous, combat is insanely fun, the CO OP still works with an active online community, your entire character load out is customizable, map is big, crowds are huge, lots of weapon types are avaiable and the story ain't too bad. Bugs are few (in the pc version right now) and loading screens are not as long as what i was getting on the ps4.

As i said, this is the best Assassin's Creed game and yes you should ignore older reviews because the PC version is 300% stable as of now. Apart from the former bad launch i haven't seen anyone take issue with this game. It is a fan favourite right now.

IMO not only you should purchase this game if you like stealth games, but buy the bundle with all dlc as well, it is good dlc.

This is your oportunity to play the last great game of the franchise, don't miss it.

I vote YES with all my heart

Highly recommended! I've been playing a lot of AC games lately. Origins, Odyssey, Syndicate... I beat Black Flag the year it released. and Now i just beat Unity. I enjoyed it more than Syndicate, and I had a blast with Syndicate. But Unity felt like a polished Assassin game. Nice origin story to Arno. Graphics, setting, environment, all really good.

The parkour of the game felt really good, even a little better than Syndicate.

Got the game for under 10 bucks, Gold and all.

Unity honestly isn't that bad. It's no glitchier than any other Assassin's Creed game. It has the best customization in the series and some of the most satisfying movement and gameplay too. Any glitches that existed in the start of the game's lifespan have nearly all been patched out. Sure, the co-op is pretty inactive, but you can play every mission solo and still succeed pretty easily if you just think a little outside the box. Unity easily has the best parkour system in the whole franchise, and Arno is a very compelling lead. Unity deserves more love, please try it out for yourself.

The parkour is decent, if not a little irritating at times. The story is pretty average and rather short too with repetitive missions with very little (but fun) variations. Although not as frequently as during the launch of the game, you still come across some bugs here and there- people/things spawning outta nowhere, NPCs hovering around, Arno getting stuck in the air during parkour. Paris feels a little too crowded at times which ruins the enjoyment. The story is not very engaging with a predictable ending. Overall I'd give the game a 7.5/10. Recommended if you're a long time fan of the series like me, although there's not much resemblance to its predecessors in regards to the story and typical AC gameplay, it certainly feels better than the games that followed it (except origins).

The mechanics can be a little less fluid than other AC titles, but that makes it feel more realistic. The story & character are incredibly compelling. I am only about 10% through the Single Player Campaign and I'm really digging it.

In my opinion I would say that this is one of the best ac games but unfortunately is ruined by bugs. If a remastered version was released then I would get it straight away.

It was cool.

History about french revolution. Bastille, King Louis XVI, September Massacre and many things.
AC not only giving entertainment, but made the player learn history

This game feels like AC syndicate Except bad...

- The commands are unresponsive.
- The Bugs are frequent and annoying.
- The controls are loose and slugish.

I would rather bang my head against the wall than play another hour of this game.

As much fun as I'm having with this game, I just can't justify people buying the PC port of this game.

- Bad optimization,
- Bugs aplenty.
- Getting stuck in invisible geometry happens a lot.
- Bad auto-pathing during free-running and just scaling walls in general, character won't go where the player intended them to.
- Can't use the hidden blade in combat. Afaik, this combat mechanic hasn't been in modern Assassin's Creed games lately, and I'm still a bit iffed by it, because I can't do a parry into instant kill anymore, and combat takes a long time, especially when swarmed by enemies.

+ A splendid digital Paris
+ Solid parkour mechanics and animations
+ Improved combat system

- Bugs and Freezes
- Poor story

AC Unity is a shy step forward in the AC series, full of interesting ideas but also with none of them fully realized. Half single player and half multiplayer, doesn't convince in any of them. Most of the players won't even try all of the aspects of the character customization nor the side activities of a big ,and we have to admit beautiful, computerized Paris.

8/10

I play Assassin's Creed not only for the story alone, but the Historical places, event, and figures, and Unity has lots of it. I'm in Indonesia and steam has a bug prize that make this game very very cheap, Rp. 28, yeah, very cheap.
Despite negative review for this game at launch, I kinda ignore it just because the setting alone, and this version didn't have to many bug, the enemy is still dump though, but it paid of the mistake at launch.
Thank you Ubisoft for making this wonderful game, it also the topic for my thesis, since I'm a History student and Assassin's Creed is my favorite game, I was thinking of making thesis for it.
Just a request, can you make a Assassin's Creed game with the setting in Indonesia, The Dutch East Indies, for the next installment, I think it would be great.

Had to admit the best next gen game during its release besides The Witcher 3,but bad pc port with horrible codes and bad optimization made this game infamous. Not to mention alot of bugs and weird game physics that messes up sometimes
