Profi-Tipp: Sound ausschalten und Gameplay genießen

Borderlands, wie es immer war und vermutlich immer sein wird. Laut, Besser, mehr Content, mehr Waffen mehr mehr mehr. Wäre da nur nicht die Story + Dialoge der Charaktere. Es fühlt sich an als hätte das jemand geschrieben, der Ü50 ist und mit der Neuzeit/dem Internet zum ersten mal in Berührung kam. Hier gehts permanent nur um Klickzahlen, Viewer, Streaming, Viralität und cringe comedy. Elli würde ich am liebsten direkt aus dem Fenster katapultieren.

Ein sehr ego-shootiger Egoshooter soweit. Das ist sonst nicht sehr mein Ding. Bei dem Spiel handelt es sich offenbar um technisch auf wirklich hohem Niveau fabrizierten geistigen Müll. Die Musik ist sehr gut. Ich mach das wegen Koop mit Freunden. Halte Euch auf dem Laufenden. sofern es etwas neues zu berichten gibt.

Habe das Produkt zwar nicht umsonst erhalten, aber immerhin mit 80% im Sale.

The new Gameplay additions are meager but add a tiny new dimension to the run and gun aspect of this game which is a welcome addition. (sliding and climbing designated ledges)
The new vehicles are cool and the new zones are fun and vary which is nice.
The story is a huge setback from BL2. Somehow the writers managed to turn the crazy space western vibes from BL2 into a fuckin space opera with borderline stupid unfunny dialogue, lame characters and the most annoying antagonists i've encountered in a game for a while.
For someone who actually cared about the Story of BL this game made me lose interest in its characters completely.
Also DUCK the Publisher for their 1year epic exclusive release trying to bring platform exclusivity to the PC and DUCK em for their monetization of this 60$ game by releasing tiny DLC's barely worth the content.
If you wanna play this game wait for the ultimate edition and get it on Sale then it might be worth it.

still fun to play with friends though

Das Spiel ist soweit cool. An den Flér vom ersten Teil kommt es meiner Meinung nach nicht mehr ran.
Cool ist der Fokus auf Coop Story. Eazy gemacht. Daher perfekt für PVN Spieler die zusammen lustige Zeit verbringen wollen! (Der Coop Modus ist nicht auf 2 Spieler begrenzt!) Auch ein Pluspunkt darin, dass man Coop die Story zusammen macht. Bei manch anderen Games wird nur der Fortschritt vom Host fortgesetzt.
Sowohl für Anfänger als auch für alte FPS Spieler ein gutes Game.

Ich persönlich hätte mir gewünscht:
Bessere Story
Waffen selber modden
Missionen etc etwas übersichtlicher
größere Maps statt viele kleine
Die Homebase, das Raumschiff, ist echt unübersichtlich...

Can be annoying for Linux users.

Actually a good game but a friend and I often have to deal with Problems running this game, hours of debugging. Sometimes just not launch, sometimes have error that Windows users already had back in 2020.

Borderlands 2 and Pre-Sequel have native Linux version and run just fine. When I wanted to play DLC Commander Lilith I had to switch to Proton and the problems began...

So please give us native Linux for Borderlands 3.

Ich kann es aktuell nicht empfehlen da es trotz leistungsstarkem PC und mittlerer Grafik nicht rund läuft. So ist schießen teilweise nicht möglich (trotz geladener Waffe und Gegner vor der Flinte). Nachladen spinnt auch (Doppelläufige Schrotflinte mit zwei Schuss lädt manchmal sechsmal im Stand nach) oder setzte zwei bis drei mal an bis es dann endlich nachlädt (keine Gegner oder Kampfaction). Wohl gemerkt das andere, aktuelle Titel wie Far Cry 6 auf Ultra laufen bei mir.

Ebenfalls ruckelt es bei Freunden schon auf niedrig bei denen ebenfalls aktuelle Titel fließend laufen.

Borderlands 3 ist meine Hassliebe. Spulen wir die Zeit 10 Jahre zurück: Borderlands 1 war zu seiner Zeit eine wucht. Ein Gernemix den ich so noch nicht gekannt habe, hat mich für Stunden an den Bildschirm gefesselt. Damals war es schon mehr Shooter als RPG aber das war okay für mich. Der Mad-Max-Psycho-Humor ist zwar nicht eingeschlagen aber fühlte sich frisch an. Borderlands 2 nahm alles was der Vorgänger gut gemacht hat und machte es Inhaltlich noch runder und ausgewogener.

Wieder zurück in die Gegenwart:
Borderlands 3 macht Gameplaytechnisch nochmals einen Satz nach vorne. Die Bewegung ist flüssiger, das Gunplay fühlt sich toll an und der Impact ist bei jeder Waffe zu spüren.
Es gibt einen ganzen Sack voller Sachen die meinen Spielspaß trüben. Die Kisten sind im schieren Übermaß zu finden und fühlen sich nicht mehr wie eine große Errungenschaft an. Gefühlt stößt man alle 3 Minuten auf eine große Lootkiste. Die Quest sind so einfach gestrickt dass es eigentlich nur zwei verschiedene Missionstypen gibt: Finde X davon oder Töte X davon...
Die Protagonisten, seien sie jetzt die Schurken oder Helden, sind durch die Bank langweilig. Während der Humor mir bei BL2 höchstens mal ein Schmunzeln entlocken konnte, regt sich bei BL3 gar nichts mehr. Peinlicher Pipi-Kacka-Fäkalhumor bringt Gamer jenseits des 18 Lebensjahres wohl kaum noch zum lachen.
Generell ist die Story so dermaßen dünn dass ich die meiste Zeit ohnehin nicht zugehört habe. War ja soweiso zu keiner Zeit wirklich überraschend.
Die Seasonpass-Mechanik finde ich bodenlos unverschämt, obwohl ich in nicht besitze und wahrscheinlich auch nie erwerben werden (Höchstens um Axton auf der Sanctuary zum schweigen zu bringen).

Trotz dieser schwachen Punkte bleibt BL3 für mich aber am zugänglichsten. Keine ewiges Farmen oder Grinden wie in vergleichbaren Shootern. Die umfägnlichen Waffenvariationen laden immer wieder zum ausprobieren ein. Der Multiplayer ist unbestritten gut.
Wer also eine menge Nostalgie aufbringt und auch über ein etwas angestaubtes Spielkonzept hinwegsehen kann findet in BL3 (insbesondere mit Freunden im MP) immer noch seine Freude

The sheer magnitude and diversity of its arsenal of fun and surprising weaponry is unmatched, and the striking amount of loving detail and variety packed into its energetic and replayable campaign is what makes Borderlands 3 a high-point for the series – and the genre as a whole. So far, i have been playing the game for about 10h -+ and the progression doesn't feel tedious or anything like that. The art-style is somehow a bit odd for someone who never played ANY Borderlands game, but you get used to it.

PS: Avoid staying to long in the starting zone, can be a bit eye-straining.

Spiel bietet viele Möglichkeiten und eignet sich gut um es im Koop mit guten freunden gemeinsam zu zocken.
Gute Ausrüstung zu bekommen ist etwas Arbeit.
Arms Race ist eine Lustiger Modus für Endgame kontent. Dafür benötigt man aber jede menge Skill und harte Nerven. Gerade in den Mayhem Modies ist es sehr anspruchsvoll.
Das ganz wird durch trocken und lustigen Humor abgerundet.

Hat mir nicht mehr so viel Spaß wie der 2. Teil bereitet. Lag aber eher an den fehlenden Mitspielern im Freundeskreis - hab den hyperaktiv verpasst. Trotzdem nice.

Ich habe bestimmt über 1000 Spielstunden verteilt auf 4 Plattformen in Borderlands 2 und es tut schon fast weh es zu sagen , aber...

Borderlands 3 ist besser. Mehr und geilere Waffen , mehr Gegner , schönere Maps , lange Dlc Kampagnen und und und...

Über die Story kann man sich auch nicht beschweren , aber da liegt ja auch nicht der Hauptpunkt!

Im Grafischen-Sinne haben sie nur Effektemäßig ne Schippe draufgelegt , aber die Grafik ist trotzdem geil . Borderlands halt...

Ich verstehe den ganzen Hate gegen das Spiel nicht , für mich ganz klar das BESTE BORDERLANDS!

PS : Besitze die Super Deluxe Edition und empfehle die , wenn sie im Angebot ist! Alleine schon wegen der Handsome Jack Casino Expansion

• viele Sammelobjekte: Erfolge, Waffen, Gegenstände die via Iridium zu erwerben sind
• viele Welten zum Erkunden, wie auch Quests die durch die Gebiete führen
• mehrere Skill-Tree‘s vorhanden

• Storyline und Writing hat mich mega enttäuscht [spoiler] Es ist einfach mies, wenn du wirklich die gesamte Questline durchziehst in dem Wissen, dass ohne den Protagonisten gar nichts von der Story vorran gebracht werden würde. Trotzdem wirst du immer als „Rekrut/Soldat/Ki.ller“ bezeichnet rettest am Ende allen den Arsch aber Lilith meint das es irgendwie wertlos sei, weil sie die Anführerin ist. WTF? Auch schön ist, wie unser Charakter beide Zwillinge platt macht aber unser Charakter nicht einmal in der cinematischen Sequenz auftaucht??!!! Der einzige der anbemerkt das unser Protagonist ja der eigentliche Held ist, ist die K.I. des Schiffs? Hat sich angefühlt wie so ein feuchter Händedruck. Nachdem Motto: Haste gut gemacht, hier haste Kohle, bye. Was gibt man denn damit bitte dem Spieler für ein Erfolgserlebnis? [/spoiler]
• Humor, kann man das essen?

Fazit

Ich hab da inzwischen sehr viel Zeit in die Story investiert, deswegen kein Daumen runter, aber die Story hat weder Tiefe noch ist sie sonderlich erfüllend für den Spieler, da der Protagonist mehr wie eine ersetzbare Figur von seinem Umfeld behandelt wird. Kann man ignorieren – ich mochte es jedoch nicht. Trotz allem haben die Kampfsequenzen natürlich Spaß gemacht und fürs Gameplay lohnt es sich zumindest das Hauptspiel zu holen, auch wenn ich nicht weiß ob die DLC’s es wert sind, wenn die Hauptstory schon mehr als enttäuschend war.

Macht schon Spaß aber müssen diese übertriebenen wirklich Lichteffekte sein? Das sorgt definitiv dafür das der Kampf irgendwann sehr unübersichtlich wird, insbesondere wenn man zu viert spielt. Eine Option zum regulieren wäre echt gut. Die Antagonisten sind leider nicht so charmant wie Handsome Jack in BL2 aber darüber kann man auch hinwegsehen. Das absolute Highlight ist meines Erachtens das Waffen feedback welches sich endlich zeitgemäß anfühlt. Zu beanstanden gibts aber noch die Gegner KI welche stark unterfordernt bis ziemlich dämlich für einen ist. Und ob die TP bei den ,,bloated Rakks,, wirklich angemessen sind wage ich an der stelle auch zu bezweifeln. kurzum: Ja es macht viele dinge besser, aber es packt mich nicht wie Teil 2.

Vom Gameplay her allseits bekannte aber bewährte und gute Lootshooterkost, die in mancher Hinsicht aufgefrischt und um weitere Aspekte erweitert wurde.
ABER:
Von miesem Writing, über inflationäres Droppen von Legendaries bis hin zu fragwürdiger Veröffentlichungs- und DLC-Politik des Publishers ist eigentlich alles dabei, was die Mottenkiste hergibt um ein gutes und beliebtes Franchise in die Sackgasse zu führen.

Mein Fazit:
Borderlands 3 ist wie die Videoantwort von Phillip Amthor auf Rezo:
übertrieben, überkompensiert, überflüssig!

Richtig gutes Game, nur muss man leider etliche Erweiterungen dazu kaufen. Und der größte Teil dieser Erweiterung sind nicht mal 6 Spielstunden. Dazu kommt noch der unverschämte Preis, was mich komplett aufregt. Anstelle des Geldes könnt ihr doch auch einmal der Spieler willen, eine Erweiterung veröffentlichen, die dem Preis gerecht wird. Aber nein, es kommt davon, dass wiederum Die Leute am höchsten Posten noch nie ein Videospiel in ihrem Leben gezockt haben und dann die Stränge in den Händen halten. Wann sind wir nur so tief gesunken, dass Spiele nicht mehr entwickelt werden, um die Menschen zu begeistern, sondern ihre Taschen auszuleeren. Das Spiel hat soviel Potenzial, ihr wisst gar nicht wie sehr es mich schmerzt zu sehen, wie Leidenschaft mit Füßen getreten wird.

I do not like this game. I really feel like the writing in 3 is pure garbage. the jokes feel like written by the German comedian Mario Barth which is more like beeing held hostage than actual fun and comedy.

I was sceptical because i reinstalled BL2 at the beginning of the pandemic and disliked it because of the long running ways and so on. I've also bought the prequel and it didn't interestested me. Then friends bought BL3 amd i followed them. What should i say, it's now an even better game, i'm already at 160 hours gameplay and i didn't touch most of the DLC yet and have not reached the endgame. So it's definetily better than the vorgaengers :)

I rarely write reviews but man, this one really deserves it. Borderlands 3 is the biggest disappointment in the whole series.

First of all, all the BUGS. I am notz really someone who bitches about bugs a lot, hell, I didn't bitch about them in Cyberpunk 2077, but here, it is incredible that a game from 2019 still is full of bugs with the studio apparently still seeing no need to fix them.

The whole menu also is not really intuitive as the previous games. It took me quite some time to develop an eye for the most important things in weapons or abilities, not thought through.

As well I am extremely unhappy about the dlc politics of the studio since there are 2 season passes that are far from cheap. I have no problem paying for a season pass if it contains all DLCs, but 2 actually.... leaves an even bitter taste considering that DLCs for Boderlands never really delivered much and mostly just consisted of 2-3 extra missions.

None the less, still an enjoyable game to play in the Boderlands realm, but it delivers poorly compared to its predecessors.

Performance Probleme, Ständige Mirkoruckler im Game bei 70 FPS oder System Crashes. Hab jetzt 4 Stunden damit verbracht irgendwelche Einstellungen zu ändern und kein Erfolg.

Don't get me wrong, this is great game. I just don't like the DLC policy with Borderlands. It was okay-ish in Borderlands 2 with DLC with huge amounts of content and okay price, at least on sale. BL3 rubs these DLC's in your face once your on the Sanctuary. Oh Sorry, you can't get rid of several Massive Exclamation marks on your map, go buy the ultimate edition for 114€(!). You feel like you're missing on so much content as if you're playing a F2P game which tries to earn at least some money to keep the server running. This is not a great feeling since you already paid the full game price to play.

To the publisher/developers: Please don't screw this series up. I really enjoy playing your games.

Einleitung

Hey, willst du eine Geschichte hören? Eine Geschichte über die Fortsetzung einer fast schon totgeglaubten Serie? Über Kammerjäger, Psychos und Claptrap? Schön, dann schmeiß das Spiel an und los geht’s…

Das Spiel

Nach über 5 Jahren Pause meldet sich Gearbox Software und 2K zurück mit Borderlands! Borderlands 1 und 2 haben mir tierisch gefallen. Trotz Grafik und Sound Bugs machte das Spiel aufgrund des schwarzen Humors, der Selbstironie und gelungener (Multiplayer) Baller Story Spaß. Ich denke gerne an die Spiele zurück und auch einige DLCs waren mit gelungenen Zusatzinhalt vorhanden. Gut, über das Pre-Sequel reden wir besser an dieser Stelle nicht…

Doch wie ist nun Borderlands 3? Fans der Serie fühlen sich vermutlich rasch wohl. Die Entwickler konnten in ihrer Pause an Grafik und Gameplay arbeiten und das merkt man extrem! So finde ich kann sich die Grafik und der Sound echt sehen lassen. Persönlich bin ich kein prädestinierter Shooterprofi, doch bei Boderlands3 fühle ich mich echt wohl. Das Waffenhandling ist soweit ich das beurteilen kann gut gelungen und auch die Story macht Laune.

Nach 27 Stunden, ein paar Nebenmissionen und Ankommen im Maingame ist etwas anders... Persönlich vermisse ich die Kreativität und den krassen Humor der damaligen Nebenquests. Versteht mich nicht falsch, es ist ein klasse Game geworden. Dennoch fühlen sich die Nebenquests anders und nicht so kreativ an wie damals. Vielleicht waren die damaligen Quests gar nicht so gut, und es ist einfach Nostalgie? Ich kann es nicht beantworten. So oder so werde ich Borderlands3 bestimmt noch weiterspielen! Übrigens die beschriebenen Abstürze und Freezes aus anderen Reviews konnte ich bei mir kein einziges Mal feststellen! Auf „Ultra“ und 1440p erreiche ich 65 – 70 FPS. Vielleicht liegt es am entfernten Denuvo Müll?

Grafik: Richtig gut gelungen! Modern, technisch Zeitgemäß und dennoch ist der Charme von Borderlands erkennbar. Man blieb sich treu
Sound: gute (deutsche) Vertonung, Soundtrack gefällt mir gut, und das „Pew Pew“ passt
Steuerung: Fühlt sich sauber und sehr flüssig an. Kam damit gut zurecht
Spaßfaktor: Borderlands 3 macht Spaß! Jede Menge Humor ist vorhanden. Dennoch fand ich was das betrifft BL1+2 irgendwie besser

Das spiel ist einfach geil momentan hab ich kein Pc der das spiel aushält aber ich hab es bei einem Freund gespielt und jetzt warte ich nur drauf bis ich mir ein neuen Computer leisten kann um Borderlands 3 zu spielen.

Macht richtig Laune, habe die vorherigen Teile ebenfalls gespielt und meine Erwartungen wurden beim 3ten Teil nicht enttäuscht.

Mein Kumpel und ich hatten gemischte Gefühle bei Borderlands 3. Zum einen ist es ein super KOOP-Loot-Shooter, der mit seiner Spielmechanik überzeugt.
Aber wir waren uns beide einig, dass es uns alleine keinen Spaß gemacht hätte und die Story ein Witz ist. Weshalb wir uns auch keine DLC's holen werden (auch wenn einige angeblich gut sein sollen... Aber wenn uns schon das Hauptspiel nicht zu überzeugt...).
Schön wäre wenn man weder Daumen hoch noch runter geben könnte... Trotzdem tendiere ich eher noch zu einer positiven Review... Ich würde sagen, dass man am besten auf ein gutes Angebot wartet.

Zeit lang überlegt sich das Spiel zu kaufen auf Grund der Community die ja sehr zerstritten war über das Spielerlebnis von Borderlands 3, in zwischen, habe ich mir das Spiel zu gelegt und bin sehr positiv beeindruckt klar Hauptstory (Nur Spiel) hat eine Spielzeit von 50 Stunden ca je nachdem wie man sich mit Borderlands auskennt. Aber die weiteren DLC's bzw hier der Season Pass drückt die Spielzeit sehr weit nach oben und bietet eine sehr große Abwechslung an Karten/Welten mit vielen verschiedenen und guten Aussehen so wie viele neue Kreaturen die ein Aussehen darstellen das von eklig bis schräg aufweisen. Die Vielfalt der neuen Waffen wie z.B. Radioaktive Waffe bieten zu dem ein neues Spielerlebnis, meine Favoriten sind da ganz klar aber die Sprechenden Waffen auch wenn diese einen irgendwann auf den Keks gehen, will man Sie einfach nicht weg legen. Aus den einfachen Grund das diese dich voll quatscht mit so einen Mist.

Für ~16€ ohne Season Pass/DLCs 2 Jahre nach Release gekauft

Die Gründe warum ich es nicht empfehlen kann:
- sehr viele Bugs und Glitches
- nach den ersten 3-4 Stunden geht die Qualität was Storytelling und Dialoge angeht extrem nach unten
- extrem veraltete/schlechte Funktionen (zb. darf niemand im Menü sein, wenn man Fast Travel benutzen will)
- Loot Table wirken total falsch designed (schwere Bosse/Kammern geben selten auch nur Lila Loot, 0815 Missionen droppen teils mehrere Legendaries)
- die Story ist nach den ersten Stunden so schrecklich, dass man sich das Ende herbei wünscht

- Loot aus den Kammern enttäuschent
- nach 1nem Jahr immernoch total verbuggt
- Menüführung ist für die Konsole ausgelegt und macht es schwerfällig
-Im Coop nicht zu empfehlen da keine der Reisemöglichkeiten darauf ausgelegt ist

Zusammenfassung:
Kauft es euch wenn es im Angebot ist aber für den vollen Preis ist das Game eine enttäuschung

Nach Borderlands 2 kommt Teil 3!
Die ersten Eindrücke sind solide.
Trotz der Comic-Darstellungen findet man die Liebe im Detail. Leicht klobige Texturen kombiniert mit bunten schrillen Farben.
Bisher ist die Story echt gelungen und durch die einzelnen Spielabschnitte wird es auch nicht langweilig. Verrückte Gegner, coole Dialoge und flotte Sprüche peppen dies noch etwas auf. Hinzu kommt, dass es nicht immer die gleichen Gegner sind, wodurch es abwechslungsreicher wird.
Nette Gimmicks wurden ebenfalls hinzugefügt, wie das rutschen, was praktisch ist um kurze offene Bereiche zu überqueren.

The game is quite amazing, did a lot of things better than BL2 did, but the player support is just not existing. Bugs, that have been reported pretty much since its release are just being ignored. Coop is of course better than single player, but the effort it takes to get a coop session running is hilarious and involves countless restarts of the game as well as un- and rebinding Shift to your Steam account. Nonsense. Also I have expierienced several crashes, while acessing inventories (or trying to at least), but who am I to complain, at least I can play it, unlike a friend of mine who can't even get past the main menu without his game crashing (which of course, also makes coop impossible). The game has great potential, but the lack of love put into it and the ignorance of the developers is just outrageous and really ruins the fun you COULD have with this game!

Mit den paar Stunden kann Ich mir eigentlich nicht leisten, ein Review zu schreiben, aber Ich mache es trotzdem.

Zu allererst: Das Spiel ist an sich ein tolles Game!
Eine schöne Story die, mich und meiner Frau, immer wieder zum Lachen brachte. Auch die DLC's sind super.
Man trifft auf alte Gesichter, die man schon in den damaligen Games ins Herz geschlossen hat.

Es macht, wenn man ein gutes Build für sich entdeckt hat, einfach super viel Spaß, sich durch die Gegnermassen du ballern und alles, was nicht auf 3 auf'm Baum ist, weg zu sprengen.

Für ein Lootershooter ist Grind halt auch sehr notwendig und da kommen wir auch zu einem Punkt der einfach GARNICHT geht.

Bei meiner Frau und mir ist es SEHR OFT vorgekommen, das unsere Speicherstände zurücksgesetzt wurden!
Erspielter Fortschritt und Loot von Stunden sind einfach mal so weg.
Bei meiner Frau ist es so schlimm gewesen, das Ihr +80 Stunden Charakter einfach mal so weg war.

Und wenn man mal sich am Support wendet, können die nichts machen! Immerhin bekommt man eine aufmunternde E-mail das Sie es verstehen können, wie frustierend es sein kann, das ein Spielstand weg ist, aber man das auch wieder erspielen kann!

Absoluter Bull**** meiner Meinung nach und Sehr schade um das Game da es ein WIRKLICH NICE geworden ist.

Schlussfazit:
Wenn Ihr von den Leuten betroffen seid, bei den der Speicherstand ebenfalls resetet wird, solltet ihr die Finger von dem Game lassen. Außer ihr habt Bock, nach ein paar Spielstunden alles wieder zu ergrinden.
Wenn ihr es nicht so habt, dann kann es echt ein toller Lootershooter sein.

Es macht so vieles Besser als der erste, zweite und vorallem als das Pre-Sequel.
Waffen haben sekundäre modi, die Art der Waffen unterscheidet sich viel häufiger, noch bescheuertere Lägendary's (Beispiel nen Cheeseburger Launcher ^^) und und und. Gut man könnte einräumen das die Story ein wenig... lame ist aber over all ist es ein Lootshooter. es geht um Ballern, looten, ballern looten und noch mehr looten!
Und das macht hier definitv spaß. Das schießen fühlt sich gut an und es macht einen riesen Spaß immer nach besseren Waffen zu jagen und rumzuprobieren was die ganzen Lägis können.

Definitive empfehlung für Fans der vorherigen Teile.

Die Auswahl an einzigartigen Waffen und viele kleinere Verbesserungen zum Vorgänger (alle Munition auf einmal kaufen/alle Items die mit schrott markiert sind, gleichzeitig verkaufen...) machen Borderlands 3 zu dem besten Spiel seiner Reihe und auch dank seines Humors zu den besten Looter-Shooter auf dem Markt.
Klare Empfehlung meinerseits!!

P.s.: Die Dlc's sind auch sehr gut und Empfehlenswert

poor villians in bl3 can't even think of competing with handsome jack, but ignoring the somewhat annoying story this game is still an awesome addiction to the series.
love it to create new chars and run different builds and blasting through mobs/bosses. yeah, indeed, some more raidbosses and bl1 or bl2 style legendaries (speaking of the droprates) would be fine and feel better i guess, but other than that i have a ton of fun :)

Wer den Witz und Charme der ersten beiden Teile sucht, sollte sich woanders umsehen. Gameplay ist ähnlich, aber an vielen Stellen deutlich flacher. Humor wirkt sehr erzwungen und generell cringe/zum fremdschämen. Grafik ist hübsch und schnell. Musik ist gut. Models sind hübsch. Animationen und Physik wirken unstimmig und stören durch ihre Ruckartigkeit das Gameplay und die Immersion. Story und Charaktere sind fürchterlich - sowohl die neuen, als auch die erzwungen wirkenden Neuinterpretationen der alten. Die deutschen Synchronsprecher kommen direkt aus der Hölle.

Insgesamt so 3,5/10 - würde nicht wiederspielen.
Definitiv nicht für mehr als 5-10€ kaufen.

Der Entwickler hat es von Anfang an nicht verstanden, wie sein Endgame auszusehen hat. Alle paar Wochen wird die Spielbalance signifikant geändert, ohne wirklich verbessert zu werden und es gibt offensichtliche Balanceprobleme einzelner Waffen. Jetzt gibt es mit einem Season Pass 2 mal etwas ganz neues: Einen neuen Ansatz, den Kunden zu verarschen (und natürlich weitere Umwälzungen der Balance). Da sollte lieber gleich ein Abosystem implementiert werden als den Begriff des Season Pass für die ganze Branche zu versauen. So nicht. Das Spiel und der Entwickler sind für mich verbrannt.

Einfach nur schlecht! Nur am abstürzen, Gameplay und Looten sucked und die Story kannste in den Müll pfeffern. Es ist traurig was aus Bl geworden ist.

Ich habe einmal für Platz alle meine Waffen und Ausrüstung auf den Boden geworfen damit ich mehr Platz habe und genau dann crasht das Spiel und alles ist weg, hat ja auch keine 10 Stunden gedauert das alles zu bekommen, nene gaaaar nicht. Das tilted mich jetzt grade zwar mega aber an sich ist es dennoch ein gutes Spiel und ich bin es eh schon gewohnt nie Glück zu haben.

Borderlands 3 ist der vierte Teil der Reihe und in meinen Augen auch der schlechteste.

Versteht mich nicht falsch. Das Gun-play sowie das Klettern und die Steuerung als auch die Grafik sind erste Sahne und besser als in jedem anderen Teil, allerdings reicht das bei Weitem noch nicht aus, um ein gutes Borderlands zu ergeben. Die Story in Boderlands 3 ist unglaublich schlecht. Sie ist langweilig und teilweise sogar sehr nervend. Der Humor ist auch verloren gegangen. Das Menü als auch die Bosskämpfe sind auch ziemlich schlecht. Die künstlich vergrößerten Maps sind meist ziemlich leer und langweilig. Das Farmen von legendären Waffen macht auch keinen Sinn mehr, da man die Dinger mittlerweile an jeder Ecke hinterher geworfen bekommt. Mein Safe auf der Sanctuary ist voll davon.

Auch verfolgt das Spiel eine politische Agenda und versucht, diese den Spielern mit Gewalt aufzuzwängen. Überall gibt es nur Girlpower, Schwule und Lesben. Jedem SjW wird dabei sicherlich einer abgehen, mir nicht, da ich der Meinung bin, dass Politik nicht in ein Spiel reingehört.

Auch sind die DLCs ein totaler Witz: viel zu kurz, langweilige Story und lieblos hingeklatscht. Ich sage nur das Psycho Krieg-DLC, das an Lächerlichkeit grenzt. Dass sie sich überhaupt getraut haben, so etwas herauszubringen und dafür Geld zu verlangen. Das einzige DLC, was Spaß gebracht hat, war das Moxxi-DLC, den Rest kann man getrost abschreiben.

Man darf nicht vergessen, dass zwischen Borderlands The Pre-Sequel und Borderlands 3 sechs Jahre Entwicklung stehen. In der Zeit hätte man auch was Besseres hinbekommen. Auch dass Randy Pitchford seine Angestellten so krass hintergangen und belogen hat, ist für mich ein absolutes No Go, er sollte sich was schämen.

Wie ihr also sehen könnt, ist Borderlands 3 leider gar nicht so toll und das muss ich als großer Fan, der jeden Teil auf 100 % gespielt hat, zugeben. Ich kann nur hoffen, dass Gearbox beim nächsten Borderlands wieder das Team, das Borderlands 2 gemacht hat, zusammen bekommt. Das wäre dann das beste Borderlands aller Zeiten.

Von mir keine Kaufempfehlung für diesen Teil und ich werde es mir in Zukunft auch 3 Mal überlegen, ob ich in Borderlands noch einmal ein Season Pass kaufe.

Zwar bin ich mit dieser Meinung so ziemlich alleine, aber ich fand Borderlands 3 sehr gelungen und würde es auch noch hunderte Male durchspielen.

Ja, mich hat die Story gefesselt, auch wenn viele sagen, dass das der schlechteste Aspekt im ganzen Game war. Es war unglaublich interessant zu sehen, was aus den alten Charakteren geworden ist - darauf habe ich mich ganz besonders gefreut. Und endlich wird mal ein bisschen mehr darauf eingegangen, was es überhaupt bedeutet ein Kammerjäger zu sein. Kammern und so.

Wie immer ist der Humor sehr sonderbar und das im positiven Sinne. Total bekloppt und hat mich immer zum schmunzeln gebracht.
Es gibt auch einige sehr traurige Stellen (je nachdem wie sehr man bestimmte Charaktere gemocht hat). Stellt euch mal an Rolands Grab und schaut es euch an. Da ist bei mir schon der Feels-Train durchgefahren.

Was darf bei Borderlands nicht fehlen? WAFFEN - jawoll! Auch da gibt es wieder unglaublich viel Auswahl und es macht einfach super viel Spaß sich durchzuprobieren. Auch wenn ich mich schon des Öfteren selbst in die Luft gejagt habe dabei.

Und die Umgebung... sieht einfach super genial aus. Oft stehe ich einfach mal an irgendeiner Kante rum und schaue in den Horizont, weil es mich einfach fasziniert.

Wer die vorherigen Teile von Borderlands gespielt hat, sollte sich das Spiel unbedingt mal anschauen. Meiner Meinung nach ist es das Geld wert.

Das Spiel macht übrigens am meisten Spaß, wenn man es mit Freunden spielt :)

es macht Spaß und nachdem viele Bugs und Fehler behoben wurden
macht es noch mehr Spaß es ist nicht so gut wie teil 2 aber ich kann es trotzdem weiterempfehlen

Just finished the game in approx 40h. The story is blend, the bosses are lame and the music is nonexistent. Play Borderlands 2 again for some memorable fun.

Long review: The game is different from BL2. While this is not a problem at all, the story just feels like chasing the bad guys all the way and having no chance to harm them in any way - only you get to kill them in a final pointless bossfight. All you do feels pointless.
The bosses feel nonexistent- if you played BL2 you remember fighting Cptn FLynt, Wilhem, Bloodwing, B4NK3R and all so on. I cant rember bossfight in BL3 except for the first one (The radio guy?) and then Troy and Tyrene, and i cant remeber anything else.
One big problem for me is the music. In BL 2 you just hear music anytime - during combat even louder. In BL 3 the music is always quit in the background, it took me a couple of hours just to notice there was music in this game.
And the last problem is the characters. You don't get to bound with them, have them say funny stuff and giff you interesting side quests that feel like you actually change the world you are playing in. The planets feel empty and liveless and i wont miss not going there again.
TL;DR: Play BL2 again and be happy with Handsome Jack telling you about Butt Stalion for the 10th time. Still funny.

Borderlands as you know and love it .. Only in larger sizes and with an improved skill system. In the game you quickly forget the time. Dozens of hours of fun guaranteed. I think it's a very good successor.

Borderlands 3 hat mich nach langer Zeit Abstinenz in dieser Spielreihe wieder zurückgewonnen. ich liebe diesen eigentypischen Humor des Games und den Gameflow.

Story hab ich jetzt nach ca 36 Stunden mehr als genossen. Jetzt geht es weiter im Chaosmode solo und mit Friends <3

Waffen sind ausreichend gut geskillt, das man auch während eines Gefechts ruhig mal zu einer gedroppten Waffe greifen kann falls die Munition knapp sein sollte und sich durchballern kann im Badass Style.

Ein Must Have für alle BL Fans!

Obwohl ich es anfangs sehr genossen habe, ist es zum jetzigen stand (Guardian Takedown gerade raus gekommen) echt mau. Praktisch jeder Gegner ist ein Kugelschwamm. Dabei sei aber zu sagen das sie dadurch nicht herausfordernder sind, nur halt VIEEEEL länger am leben bleiben. Also genau lang genug um das Gefühl der Langeweile auszulösen. Ich hoffe sehr auf eine Kertwende und auf unterhaltsame Mechaniken und Taktiken. Aber so wie es im Moment ist, sehe ich lieber Graß beim Wachsen zu.

nach langen warten wegen epicgames... hat es sich meiner Meinung nach sehr gelohnt dieses spiel zu holen, mega Gameplay, nach meiner Meinung flüssiger als im Vorgänger, extrem sympatische Kammerjäger die mit der Story individuell agieren, viele Waffen, Starke Bosse und vieles mehr. nach knapp 160 stunden Spielzeit hab ich in Borderlands 3 so ziemlich alles gesehen doch was mich von Anfang an gestört hat war einfach die Story.. Die Story hatten ich und mein Kumpel nach knapp 35-40 stunden durch und das ohne groß farmen zu müssen. was uns dabei sehr stark genervt hat waren einfach die beiden ich sag mal ''Bösen'', wie mir dabei wahrscheinlich sehr viele zustimmen werden waren sie nicht annähernd so Charakteristisch wie Jack es in Borderlands 2 war, wozu ich auch sagen muss das Jack einfach unschlagbar als Bösewicht ist was es dann natürlich extrem schwer macht einen besseren zu erschaffen. Was die dlcs angeht kann ich jedem empfehlen sich diese zuzulegen! kleiner tipp: ''Guns, Love and Tantacels'' erst nach der Story spielen, was das dlc sehr viel verständlicher macht, was wiederum beim Handsome Jack Casino relativ egal ist. zum Schlusswort, mega spiel, gute Story, genug Action! Empfehlung für jeden der Lootshooter mag!

Loot-Shooter der wirklich alles richtig macht. Borderlands 3 wartet wieder, wie man es von der Serie kennt mit Comic-Grafik auf. Dank guter Effekte und schöner Ausleuchtung sieht das allerdings niemals billig aus. Das ganze Spiel ist vom Sound und Grafik wirklich AAA! Wie man es von Borderlands gewohnt ist, gibt es Egoshooter-Gameplay vom Feinsten. Man levelt mit fortlaufendem Fortschritt immer weiter auf und bekommt immer stärkere Waffen. Von den Waffen gibt es insgesamt über 1 Milliarde, die in den Kategorien: Pistole, Maschinenpistole, Sturmgewehr, Schrotflinte, Scharfschützengewehr und Raketenwerfer unterteilt sind, wobei man nur 4 gleichzeitig tragen kann, der Rest bleibt im Inventar. Der Charakter lässt sich mit jedem Level durch Punkte in einem Talentebaum skillen. Zur Auswahl am Spielbeginn gibt es 4 Charaktere, zwischen denen man sich entscheiden muss. Jeder Charakter hat seine spezielle Fähigkeiten. Das Spiel wartet mit wirklich schönen Welten auf, man beginnt auf dem schon aus den Vorgängern bekannten Planet Pandora und kann dann per Raumschiff, das auch als Basis dient, auf andere Planeten reisen. Die Story ist wirklich nett gemacht aber kein wirklich grosses Highlight dieses Spiels. Die skurrilen Charaktere die man während des Spiels trifft gehören so ziemlich dem Besten der Videospielgeschichte. Der Humor ist einfach grandios. Es macht viel Spass neben den Hauptmissionen auch noch die Nebenmissionen mit ihren interessanten Geschichten zu spielen. Es ist immer eine Jagd auf immer bessere Waffen und Loot. Natürlich kann man sich auch per Ingame-Geld immer bessere Ausrüstung kaufen. Wer einen wirklich guten Lootshooter sucht ist bei Borderlands 3 genau an der richtigen Adresse. Ursprünglich wollt ich den Titel nur mal anzocken, allerdings hat mich das Spiel so gepackt, das ich es auch durchspielen will. Das Gunplay stimmt einfach und die Umgebungen und Charaktere animieren zum weiterspielen. Klare Empfehlung!

A very good Loot-Shooter at all...really... i like the Game and had a lot of fun playing it but the whole Story is just absolutely crap and the characters are bad written.
I like the old Borderlands parts and i hope for the Future that there comes a good DLC or a better Borderlands....

but if you like Loot-Shooters and you don't look too hard on the Story its a very great Game.

Die haben alles schlechte aus the pre sequel und das wenige gute aus Borderlands 2 genommen, alles in ein Topf geworfen, reingespuckt und den flüssigen Brei den Spielern serviert.
Aber man kann es den Marderhunden nicht verübeln, wenn es halt zuerst auf Epicmüll erscheint, gibt es halt keine Ansprüche an das spiel.

Na ja was soll man schreiben , ja ich hatte Recht und wir hocken alle zu Hause ( und das ist so traurig und abartig ) und B 3 ist einfach nur B 3 , mehr brauch es nicht !
Muss aber zugeben , das mich die gegeben Umstände aktuell zum Kauf bewegt haben . Eigentlich wollte ich wie tausend andere User auf den 5 Euro Sale warten , weil Strafe soll sein .

Vor Spoilern wird rechtzeitig gewarnt

Dieses Spiel ist eine schlechte Version von Borderlands 2. Der Autor kopiert dreist ca.50% von Plot und Charakteren, ohne zu verstehen was diese ausgemacht hat. Schlimmer noch: Charaktere und Handlung sind auf einem so niedrigen Niveau, dass teilweise die Logik des Borderlands Universums gebrochen wird.

Der Plot ist tatsächlich so schlecht, dass er als Fanfiction durchgehen könnte. Fanfiction mit dem Ziel größer und besser zu sein, als alles was davor passiert ist, ohne zu verstehen, was Borderlands interessant gemacht hat. Das verblüffende daran: das gesamte Skript ist so inkompetent, dass es alle anderen Aspekte des Spiels massiv runterzieht. Selbst im Coop war das Spiel für mich eine einzige Qual. Und das, obwohl Gameplay, Sounddesign und Grafik deutlich besser sind, als in den Vorgängern. Sowas muss man erstmal schaffen.

Ein weiteres Problem sind die alten Charaktere. Diese werden entweder wie Dreck behandelt, oder kommen kaum vor. In Bl2 konnte man regelmäßig Quests von Moxxi, Marcus, Zed, Scooter, ect. Erhalten. In Bl3 erhält man viel zu oft Quests von generischen NPCs, die weder Unterhaltsam, noch spielerisch interessant sind, oder das Borderlands-Universum bereichern.

Humor… Der Plot hat es geschafft, das gesamte Spiel nach unten zu ziehen. Der Humor gibt sein bestes, ihn dabei zu überbieten.
Spoilerfreie Version: Bl3 ist voll von Meta-Humor. Sie referenzieren z.B. Streamer und Spieler sollen sich unterhalten fühlen, weil sie erkennen, dass es sich um Streamer handelt. Dummerweise gibt es dabei keinen Witz, es wird nichts Parodiert, oder irgendwas celveres mit dem Thema angestellt.
Leichte Spoiler Version: Das Gimmick der Antagonisten ist: sie sind Streamer. Was bisher maximal eine kleine Nebenquest war, ist jetzt wichtiger Bestandteil der Handlung. Es wird nichts cleveres damit gemacht; es wird weder kritisiert, noch parodiert. Der Autor hält die Spieler für so dumm, dass sie sich unterhalten fühlen, sobald sie „hier Produkt/Marke/Thema einfügen“ erkennen. Entweder das, oder Gearbox hat die Fähigkeiten seines Autorenteams massiv überschätzt. Vermutlich beides. Wer sich also von langweiligen Actionhelt-Spüchen, generischen Beleidigungen auf Kinderniveau und durch und durch narzisstischen, arroganten, herabfälligen Charakteren nicht unterhalten fühlt, wird hier wenig Spaß haben. Außerdem hat der gesamte zweite Akt (nachdem man Pandora verlässt) einen subtilen schwulen Unterton und ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob das beabsichtigt, oder einfach keinem der Autoren aufgefallen ist.

Außerdem spührt man den selbstgefälligen Einfluss von SJWs immer mehr, je weiter die Handlung voranschreitet. Das Gute daran: es gibt mehr wichtige Frauen, als in den meisten anderen Spielen und das wirkt weder forciert noch gekünstelt. Das Schlechte: es ruiniert stellenweise das bisschen Spannung und Emotionalität, das Bl3 geblieben ist.
Achtung Spoiler!: In der zweiten Hälfte des zweiten Aktes muss man Hammerlock befreien. Es stellt sich heraus, dass er schwul ist und eine Beziehung mit einem der neuen Charaktere hat. Das schlimmste daran: im Finale werden kurz alle Charaktere gezeigt und Hammerlock und sein Partner dürfen Händchen halten, was so dermaßen unpassend ist, dass es die emotionalste und Finale Szene im Spiel stört. Die Entwickler wollten hier beweisen, wie progressiv und Vorurteilslos sie sind. Daran ist das Problem, dass niemand gesagt hat 2k oder Gearbox wären Homophob oder ähnliches. Sie thematisieren es aber so penetrant und stellen sich dabei so rechtschaffen dar, als ob sie mit dieser Szene die ersten überhaupt wären, die einen weltbewegenden Schritt für die Gleichberechtigung Homosexueller getan hätten… Es ist offensichtlich, dass hier nach einer Agenda gehandelt wurde. Es passt kaum zu Borderlands, es passt nicht mal wirklich in die Handlung von Bl3 und es ist eine Schande, dass für diesen überflüssigen Subplot wertvolle Zeit zum Entwickeln der Handlung, der Welt oder der Charaktere draufgegangen ist.

Mein Fazit: Das Gameplay ist gut. Die Bugs sind zu zahlreich (vor allem, wenn man nicht hostet). Und die Handlung ist so furchtbar, dass sie das Spiel für mich kaum erträglich gemacht hat (und das im Coop). Wer Borderlands ohne den Witz oder die Charaktere genießen kann, wird hier Spaß haben; der Rest wird eines der (auf die Handlung bezogen) schlechtesten Spiele überhaupt ertragen müssen. Für ein AAA Spiel ist das schon echt peinlich, selbst für den erbärmlichen Zustand, in dem die Industrie momentan ist.

ich habe 7 Jahre (+6 Monate) auf diesen Titel gewartet.
Leider wurde das Writing von Idioten übernommen. Es konnte nicht ansatzweise die Emotionen und Sympatien hervor rufen, wie es der Vorgänger tat. Die Story ist unschlüssig, sinnlos und oft einfach nur noch Cringe pur, dass man sich die Hand vor das Gesicht schlagen möchte.

Spielerisch ist es eine klare Verbesserung zu Vorgängertiteln, doch da ich hauptsächlich für eine Fortsetzung der Story zugegriffen habe, bin ich enttäuscht, in Ansätzen sogar wütend.
Selten hat mich ein Spiel so gekränkt zurück gelassen und meine Treue als Fan auf solch eine Probe gestellt.

Hab mich riesig auf das Game gefreut und wurde nicht enttäuscht :D.
Die Story und die dazugehörigen Charaktere sind einfach super :P, es gab viele Easter Eggs und das Spiel war nie langweilig :D.
Hin und wieder gabs ein paar kleine Bugs, wie Quest Charaktere stecken im Boden oder sind stuck, aber das Spiel neustarten hilft :D. Mit Freunden macht es natürlich auch Spaß :P.
Auf jeden Fall lohnenswert zu kaufen ^^.

boring repetitive mindless and void of life, the story was bland and lifeless compared to the prior games and the combat was painfully easy thru out the whole run time

any bit of story that was decent was massively brought down by any second the Twins were on the screen, honestly the worst villains any game has ever had, they would have worked much better as dumb sidequest villains that we were meant to laugh and clown on for how stupid they are then as the main antagonist of the game

Borderlands 3 is the kind of game that excels in a lot of ways but also lacks in a lot as well. I feel that the gameplay, gunplay, loot system, enemies, and graphics are amazing and the game is so much fun to play and feels like a nice change but still similar to the past games in the series. The only real issue is that the story is just poorly written with dumb characters (ava), poorly written deaths of favorite characters, and just other minor issues that are a bit annoying. Overall though the game is really fun and I enjoyed it a lot I feel like there's a lot of new additions to gameplay that makes it very sweet to play however, the story is lacking in quality and there are various overpriced DLCs thanks to 2K being… 2K

+Gun play is awesome and just feels different but still feels like Borderlands. Basically its really fun shooting things in this game
+Graphics are great
+Can now change the rate of fire on several guns, change their elemental damage, and or change what kind of gun they are entirely as you can have a shotgun and with the press of a button turn it into a sniper
+Can actually move when down now which holy shit yes
+Legendaries have a higher chance to drop than any other game in the series, a sound plays when they spawn, and a marker is on the map for them as well
+Raid bosses are actually doable solo now
+Multiple planets and other installations to travel to which is awesome being able to leave Pandora and explore the galaxy
+Can fast travel from wherever you’re standing and not forced to use a fast travel machine to teleport
+Out of the 4 characters to play as you can now acquire 3 different special abilities instead of just one unlike in previous titles
+Penn & Teller
+Various vehicles and you can now customize them with new parts to fit your playstyle
+Can lock certain inventory items preventing them from being sold
+A lot cooler set of skins than previous games
+Easy overall
+Mayhem mode which allows actually difficulty to be added to the game with additional loot drops a lot like the OP mode from BL2
+No UVHM which tbh was pointless as you can easily level up to max rank this game within TVHM
+Cross play
+Maps are bigger than ever with so many different locations to explore
+AI can revive you

-A lot of overpriced DLCs… I understand paying for content especially if it adds actual levels and what not but paying $10 for a single skin for one character is a bit ridiculous lol…BL2 had the same thing but for $2??? As well as several of the content related DLCs are overpriced for the amount of effort and lacking content within it avoid the Season Pass 2 at all costs
-Was on Epic for several months upon release which imo just sucks in general I hate exclusively and its just annoying to have to download and use so many different programs to play games with so many different systems and what not. It just like seems that 2K values money more than its player base but whatever
-Constant annoying pop-ups to play/buy the DLCs in the main hub of the game. “Hey vault hunter, have we got a special opportunity for you!” plays probably every single time you enter Santactury of 2 NPCs wanting you to buy a DLC constantly is so annoying
-Zane can’t throw grenades unless he unequips one of his special abilities
-Ground slam ability felt so pointless…
-Golden Keys are so rare now and expire within a week or so unlike BL2 where majority of them are still active

-Idk if this is just some connection issue with me but I keep losing connection to the Shift servers constantly preventing me from doing cross play
-Story Spoilers [spoiler] BL3 was never going to live up to the perfection of BL2 unless they somehow brought back Handsome Jack. Even with that the game is fun gameplay wise but the story and characters are alright… The Calypso Twins are cool antagonists but seem to just teleport in the way of the protagonists, overwhelm them, and dip every single time. They are always just one step ahead and the protagonists pretty much just let them raw dog them constantly. Of course near the end though they get overwhelmed themselves in power and lose. I honestly feel like they killed Handsome Jack off too quickly; he was just too good to die in the first game he appeared in. Ava is annoying, Typhon is cool but then is killed off almost immediately after being introduced. Planetary exploration, meeting various gun companies, and going to the Eridian home world is very cool as well as opening multiple vaults in a single game. The Calypsos just were missing a bit of spark to them and the overall story which was fun just isn't as interesting as BL2. Also Maya and Lilith's deaths were so forced and just poorly written that alone almost just makes everything worse. Also Lilith sacrificed herself to stop Pandora's destruction but then kills everyone on Elpis? Ok… Also I wish there was a bit more of an explanation/recap of what happened to the destruction of Sanctuary & the Crimson Raiders as well as why Brick & Mordecai decided to abandon Lilith on Pandora with the vault map… like wtf. Only get to see Zero and Maya in the main story and they both only appear for a small portion of the story, the rest of the vault hunters being subjugated to DLCs… Also Vaughn and Rhys never talk to each other the whole game wtf and then Dr.Zed & Athena are just missing?? [/spoiler]

I like the gameplay of BL3, however the story is entertaining to a degree mainly just because you travel the galaxy and come in contact with various gun companies from throughout the series. The antagonists are annoying and not the great and the overall story is just boring at times and I find myself struggling to continue through another massive map with dumb writting. Several key characters from previous games are thrown into DLCs or are just rarely in the game it all others are killed off in such stupid ways. However the gameplay is fun, easy, and rewarding. It’s ok lol…

Things I liked
- Guns from different manufacturers stand out more.
- Better shooting, driving, and movement.
- Addictive (until it isn’t).
- Having two different special abilities for most characters.
- Typhon DeLeon and his logs were interesting (to me at least).
- Rhys.
- Fast Travel from anywhere, although I would’ve just preferred seeing fast travel stations more often than in Borderlands 2.
- Cryo and radiation as opposed to slag.
- Dynamic crosshair (when it actually works)

Things I disliked
- Ava.
- Tyrene.
- Standing around doing nothing in Sanctuary, waiting for dialogue to finish.
- Season pass 1, Season pass 2, Designers cut, Directors Cut.
- Unrewarding exploration.
- Mayhem mode.
- Driving levels, especially on true vault hunter.
- Weird glorification of Tannis, who I always saw as nothing more than a joke and plot device (mainly in the first game).
- Ruined or missed opportunities with the Borderlands 2 protagonists, Zer0 being the only exception, and Kreig, but that’s DLC.
- It’s obvious a lot of content was either completely redone or cut entirely given how long it took to make.
- Danny DeVito was supposed to voice Typhon.
- I still have no idea how the events work.
- Boring and mostly forgettable supporting characters. Like that sherif dude from Eden 6.
- Boss fights are good, but the actual variety of bosses is weak.

I have more negative points than good but I still think it’s a fun game and I’d recommend it for $20 or less. Also it’s a lot better with friends, like every game. I like Fl4k and Zane the most.

Collectively, across all platforms, I have played over 120 hours of this game. And that's weird. Because BL3 is somehow laborious and extremely quick to finish.

BL3 is sad. Disappointing. I hate that. I love Borderlands. I was so excited to see Vaughn and Rhys (TFTBL was always my favorite) and I really enjoyed most of the new characters they introduced. Clay and Jakobs are fun! The new VH's are NEAT! Even Troy and Tyreen have their moments.

Yet somehow BL3 fails. The gameplay of BL3 is a step above what we've seen before in the series; it's smoother, more engaging. It can be noted that sniping is practically impossible on console due to the sheer amount of stuff running at you- not to mention the lighting... which is moodier but not exactly what you want while fighting hoards of psychos. If you can deal with that, BL3's gameplay is wicked good. If that's what you care about most, you likely will take little issue with the plot.

Okay, listen. We're at the section where I talk about the plot. I know, nobody wants to discuss BL3's story. Borderlands never was the peak of lit, but BL2, Tales, even TPS had something to offer when it come to this stuff. They all had fun characters who you cared about. People like Jack because he's charismatic and also a really cool tragic figure. Lots of people love Tina because the glimpses we see beyond her regular persona are so touching. BL3 doesn't go for deep or human. Well actually, it does. It just feels incredibly manufactured. Typhon is arguably a pretty bad dude. He didn't treat his kids as he should have. He pushed them away to the point of running from home. There's never a point where anybody ever commits to talking about his failings. That's weird, because I feel as if BL3 WANTED to say something, but it never managed to get its point across.

There's also a bunch of iffy stuff that happened behind the scenes of BL3. Claptrap's VA made statements that alleged Randy Pitchford assaulted him. Troy Baker was supposedly *never* contacted about coming back to play Rhys. It's weird and shady. I don't know where that fits into my review.... I guess that when it comes to the replacements... they *try* but I don't know how well they actually manage.

Can't talk about the DLC's, either. I'm sorry Timothy. I love you buddy but this game's 100+ gigs and I have better things to install. Sorry dude.

I don't recommend this game.

I played this game for 100+ hours, and honestly? I enjoyed it. The story was meh, but it still hit all the right notes for me that the first two did. I don't recommend this game because it ate my save data. On 11.07.2021 my game crashed and corrupted my character. It wasn't salvagable. This is a known issue since launch on the epic games launcher, and even crosses with the steam release. Nothing has been done to fix this bug, others like me have reached out to developers for some sort of aid, a patch, hell- a mod to fix it. Nothing. This has had people completely swear off the game, I know I considered it. But I've lost save data before, I'll cry about it and I'll get over it. I'll probably play this game for another 100+ hours, I'll probably have fun with that. But others won't.

If you read this review and still want to buy Borderlands 3, that's fine. More power to you. I have one plea: figure out where your Borderlands 3 save data is kept on your computer and make manual backups. It is the ONLY fool-proof plan around this game ruining bug.

This game is awful, incredibly unfunny and so politically charged I'm surprised there isn't already DLC about rigging an election for a demented ice cream lover. But the gameplay is objectively the best Borderlands has ever been, and there's only so many times you can replay BL2.

The game really sucked me in and its all I wanted to play for like a week straight. It gave me a lot of laughs and I really enjoyed the story. Theres some side quests I really found great. The Rise and Grind side quest was super funny, and also the extreme chad quest. I also loved the one quest where you look for this janitor in promethea. I did have some bug issues where a couple quests stopped working. There was a good amount of lack luster side quests but they were fine. They just weren't so entertaining or engaging, but they are the minority. The majority of the side quests are entertaining. The gun system is great and well thought out. Map designs are great, incentives to explore. There really are many memorable moments for me in the game. My fingers are crossed for borderlands 4.

200+ Hour Gameplay and 100% Completion Review:
I have always been a fan of the borderland series since BL1, I probably have over 2000 hours on the Xbox 360 version of BL2. Ever since borderlands 3 came out on Epic Games, I bought it over there and loved the game since. The DLCs are awesome to play and it is cool how they keep updating the game and keep adding new content.
The thing I do hate compared to the other borderlands is that there isn't much grinding anymore. I remember grinding over and over again in BL2 for a decent sham shield. The rewarding feeling when you get something over 90% was already enough. In BL3, you get legendary drops left and right, to the point I don't check what they are anymore due to my build being decent as it can be. I do wish they add more characters or something down the road. The fourth tree was a cool concept and wish they keep adding things to keep the game interesting.
Right now, I have 100% completed the game on my Moze character. Meaning I got all the red chests, did every single side quest (DLCs included), got all the Echo logs, and currently trying to get the missing skins I don't have. Out of the 4 characters, Moze is very broken and easy to play, FL4k is your average and decently powerful, Amara is for easy AOE damage, and Zane is actually sorta hard but rewarding to use. (Especially if you like being fast).

WARNING! If you play this game I strongly recommend backing up your saves manually. This game WILL crash on you, and when it does it can corrupt your save file. Happened to my GF 2 nights ago but luckily she had the rare .TEMP file and we recovered her progress. Most people lose their progress entirely because most times when this happens you don't get access to the .TEMP file, and steam automatically backs up your now corrupted save to the cloud when the game closes, if you've got your games saves set to auto backup. She nearly lost over 80 hours of gameplay so please stay on the safe side and manually backup your saves, it's only 1MB.

Now that that's out of the way I can talk about the game.

CONS: The story is extremely forgettable and so is half of the cast. There are a few characters that are very well written and are extremely funny, but others walk around with a sort of weird over the top sarcastic tone even in serious situations that make you wonder if anyone in this game actually cares about anything. The networking is terrible. The game uses P2P and unless you're a network engineer like me you likely just use your ISP's default modem/router setup with their default hardware. This can cause a lot of issues since these devices are pretty sensitive over the internet when communicating with each other. ISP firewalls, blocked ports etc can also get in the way leading to dropped games, friends not being able to connect extra. As I mentioned above the game crashes, at times freezes for 2 seconds often. Not enough to break the experience but every time it happens it won't be long enough that you can't recall the previous time. The DLC costs way too much. $10 for a skin? Really?

PROS: When everything works, even with a boring story and mostly annoying cast members, the game is crazy fun with friends and that just can't be denied. Customization is great, the weapon and skill tree systems are great, I like 3 out of 4 of the character classes. The DLC is waaaaay too pricey even when on sale so I avoid those for now but the base game alone has a lot to do so don't feel short changed if you can't afford the DLC. I beat the story last night, look at my play time. There's A LOT to do.

CONCLUSION: I bought the game on sale so the gripes I have with it are easy to shrug off but I'd be pretty angry paying $60 for the kinds of issues this game has, and they've been ignored since the game's launch tbh. GearBox's forums are littered with angry players. All in all if you've got 2 or 3 friends to do the campaign with, this game is tons of fun. I can't recommend these DLC prices but I strongly recommend picking up at least the base game when it's on sale again for $20.

The combat is the best it's been in the series. The writing clearly the worst.

I'd love an upgrade system to level up specific guns that you find so you don't have to leave them behind. Though you are showered with loot, often times you can go multiple levels without finding an adequate gun. Having a bit more control over that would even out the pacing.

I only recommend the game because it is still fun to play with friends and the boss fights were awesome.

The bad things:
- 90000 million weapons, and you will use the same 3 once you get to a decent level. Most guns are useless in comparison to other games. You do get a lot, and I mean A LOT of them... but 95% of them is garbage.
- The story was meh, I didn't care at all for what was happening.
- The ending was lame and the ending song even lamer.
- The main villains.. sucked.

So you want me to tell you another story, huh?

Introduction

Borderlands 3 is a sequel to the fan-favorite Borderlands 2, that continues the Loot and Shoot sub-genre, with many guns for you to use. The game has some fun and interesting gameplay, with some nice gunplay, and four characters for you to choose from. However, the story is a huge problem, mainly with a large majority of its characters, as most of them come off as very unlikable or annoying. The game was developed by none other than Gearbox Software.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Some characters are extremely unique and memorable.
Fun gunplay, with more than a billion guns.
interesting upgrades for your character.
Outstanding art style.
Awesome soundtrack.

Cons

The story is a huge mess, as some of the characters are either, unlikeable or annoying, while the humor being watered down.
The dialogue is just insulting and borderline cringe.
The bosses are underwhelming.
Eridum’s function has been changed and is quite common, instead of being a rare currency to find.
Some performance issues were present.

Story

The story takes place seven years after the events of Borderlands 2, as four new Vault Hunters have joined the Crimson Raiders. Their mission is to investigate a new cult called The Children of The Vault, while also trying to stop the two leaders, the Calypso Twins. The twins, Tyreen and Troy, have a map that can lead them to a Vault that will give them power, making them gods, essentially. With that in mind, the Crimson Raiders, aboard a ship named Sanctuary III, visit other planetst o try and get the Vault-Keys, before the twins steal the vault’s power.

The story of Borderlands 3 is trash and the characters that are new are nowhere near as likable as the ones in Borderlands 2. Let’s start out with Troy. Troy does nothing in the story and will just stand there until about ten hours into the game where he decides to finally do something. However, what he does is so small that if Troy was removed, nothing would have changed from the story. Tyreen is borderline cringe; she has this stream going on and when a major event happens, she makes a cringy video on it. She also says stuff like “don’t forget to like, follow, and obey” which comes off as just plain bad and is a good example of the dialog being bad. Tyreen could have easily of been the worst character in the game, but that honor would go to Ava. Ava is very obnoxious, will put people in situations where everyone is in danger, and at the end of the day, she gets rewarded for it. She never learns from her mistakes and blames other people for everything she does when it’s really her fault for doing it.

However, the story does have a few good moments with good characters that I did end up enjoying. I loved both Ryes and Katagawa Jr., as both of them felt like characters from Borderlands 2. Wainwright Jakobs was another character I enjoyed, however, my favorite is Clay. I wish I saw Clay more in the story, he is loyal to the Jakobs Corporation and had that vibe that made him feel like a cool character.

Gameplay

Now I can talk about Borderlands 3’s saving grace, and that was the gameplay, as it was fun, engaging, and the reason I kept playing the game. There is a lot of loot to collect and a lot of guns to use; there is at least one billion of them. Each weapon’s value does come down to personal preference, as each gun does feel unique in their own way. There are four Vault Hunters to play as, and they each have their own playstyles. When you level up, that Vault Hunter will get to select from a skill tree and that will determine the play style. You will fight all sorts of enemies, like Skags, Bandits, Rakks, and many more. sometimes you will come across an enemy that will carry an element like fire or ice, if you use the same weapon with that element it will be immune to it, however, it will have a weakness to another element.

The gameplay does have two issues, however. the first one is with Eridium; instead of being a rare thing to find, It’s now more common. It’s used to get skins and some weapons, but with it being so common, it ruins the fun of finding it. The next issue is with the bosses, they feel like giant bullet sponges and bring nothing interesting to the table. Bosses should feel unique and not like finding an enemy that just takes a bunch of hits to kill.

Vault Hunters

Amara: The Siren uses Siren powers that focus on elemental damage, while supporting her team, but does have a few other playstyles, making her a very versatile character. She has a skill tree called Brawl that can make her use physical attacks. Mystical Assault allows her to use guns as well as elemental attacks, and Fist of The Elements helps her support her team, which is a perfect tree for CO-OP.
Fl4k: The Beastmaster, which is the character I played as, who can have a pet as his companion that will help him in combat. He has the The Hunter skill tree, where he can make use of his sharpshooting abilities and has a Spiderant to aid him. The Master skill tree summons a skag to help him in battle which is perfect for solo players, and The Stalker, gives him a gun-toting Jabber to help him in battle.
Moze: The Gunner is more suited for combat and has a giant mech-bear called Iron Bear. The Bottomless Mags skill tree will make use of firearms, where you will not have to reload your weapons. Her Demolition Woman tree makes use of explosive weapons, mainly with rocket launchers and grenades. The Shield of Retribution focuses more on survival with shields and railguns to help in combat.
Zane: The Operative focuses on critical hit damage on the weapons you use while making use of his gadgets to help him. The Hitman skill tree makes use of his SNTNL drone and makes his weapons have high damage output. The Under Cover tree is designed for more defensive capability and the Double Agent skill set makes use of Zane’s holographic clone.

Graphics and Performance

Borderlands 3 looks beautiful and very alive, each planet feels different, and everywhere you visit looks amazing. You have cities that feel abandoned, forests that look dangerous, and planets that look ancient with mysterious ruins. The game can run well, though I did come across some freeze frames with my settings. The game can run at 60 FPS with low settings, but when I turned the graphics up, it will drop to 30, other then that I had no issues with the game. I ran the game with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 3GB, 16 GB of RAM storage, AMD Ryzen 5 1500X Quad-Core Processor 3.50.

Soundtrack

The soundtrack is also something that the game did right as well, I was honestly surprised that it was done so well. My favorite song has to be Hold On, played during the mission Project D. it has some sort of country and rock mix that I enjoyed very much.

Final Verdict

Borderlands 3 is a great game; it has a great soundtrack, and the graphics are really nice, however, the story really holds the game back. This review could have been the entire story with just how bad it gets, especially with the characters. The story could have almost ruined the entire game altogether, but the gameplay is its saving grace. I recommend Borderlands 3 on a sale and not full price.

I would NOT recommend buying this currently. No, not even when you're a Borderlands fan and played all the games (like me). Buy it once it's cheaper, preferably not just on sale, because the story isn't exactly worth it. Yes, towards the end, it does get better for a short time, but that's just it: Only for a short time.

Sniping is horrendous, the graphics have changed for the worse (despite having a better shine to it), and your character feels like they're not truly a part of the game during cutscenes.

Moreover, I often had to quit the game since I started to get a headache or feel sick, and I don't normally get motion sickness. And if I didn't close it on purpose, the game crashed on me, despite having a pretty good computer.

The DLCs (with the exception of Moxxi's, which I haven't finished yet) aren't that good, and the Season Pass isn't worth it either, especially when considering that you'll have to buy another one soon to get the next set of DLCs - and more skill trees, apparently, which honestly should just be a free update.

It's not worth it, honestly.

The main problem with this game is that Borderlands 2 was too good to beat.
However, Borderlands 3 has spectacular graphics, an amazing soundtrack and features several gameplay innovations.
The ability to climb on ledges is very cool and adds variety to a map that now also develops vertically. Exploring new planets can be really exciting, and I really enjoyed the atmosphere of different locations.
The variety of guns and loot is incredible, but the game also has several downsides.
First of all I find the vault hunters much less interesting than in previous chapters, and even the main villains are fun but lack charisma.
The new skill trees are interesting and definitely add more decision making but it is outweighed by the lack of variety in the characters.
Moreover, the dialogues and jokes are often predictable and lame.
Some parts of the game were pretty laggy at times, especially during co-op mode, I found a few bugs and I experienced several crashes.
Overall Borderlands 3 remains a great game, especially if you are a fan of the franchise.

This is going to be a weird review. The vault hunters themselves are fun, the mechanics are interesting and nicely varied. The DLC is incredible. The problem keeps coming back to the main games story and certain characters. As a warning this is going to be kinda spoilery so...consider self warned I guess.

During the course of this game the player will go from a key figure to a passive observer in any and all cutscenes (which are also annoyingly frequent). You will see major female characters get flattened relatively easily even when they are shown as being almost universally badass in general. You will have villains that are mostly built around a single joke that is kind of intriguing initially but quickly becomes tedious and repetitive (to the point where it felt weirdly like the creators had some kidn of vendetta against streamers).

The villains themselves weren't engaging, we heard their voices constantly but it felt more like yappy dogs, with the exception of Eden-6 there wasn't much to actually show real personality or depth to them and even then it got rather undercut by some initial dialogue so over the top that it made it hard to take anything said or done seriously (and I mean that in the context of the borderlands games. When I can take the Butt Stallion concept seriously but not their dialogue there may be a problem, just saying)

Combined with this is Ava, Mayas apprentice and major source of irritation. Dislike of her is practically at meme status but her character is frustrating and poorly utilized. She is never actually shown being useful with her apparent skillset at pickpocketing, bypassing locks or stealth, all of which could have been used during main or side missions to at least make her seem useful instead of like a load. In addition her actions feel very much connected to one of the more...controversial parts of the game. Add in her whinily yelling at Lilith, the game apparently taking her side, and her for some reason being put in charge of the raiders at the end instead of say....any of the other actuial experienced vault hunters that are available. I'll also bring up that there is a side mission meant to make her sympathetic, I am fairly easy to please in that regard and instead the whole damn thing felt like a very clumsily built setup and that the players is just beaten over the head with a 'FEEL BAD FOR HER' bat.

There are some other issues I have with the games story but they are somewhat more personal. The retcon from the first game about vault hunters is kind of annoying given how central Typhon DeLeon is to the story here. But again, that's more of a personal annoyance.

Overall the main story is probably the actual worst part of the game, and I'll be blunt that if there was a DLC or variation that had me run my alts through an accelerated version of events via an arena or an alternate setup to get the unlocks (extra weapon slots, etc.) without having to go through the story again, I would be intensely interested in it.

But as you may notice despite all that I still reccommend the game. I do that becuase while the story is bad, the villains are disappointing and a focus character made the experience even more unpleasant the mechanics of the game itself are solid. In addition the various DLC options actually feel much more like proper borderlands, have some interesting characters and in general are quite fun.
