Über das Spiel

Andromeda has seen quieter days, and it’s up to you to take the reigns of one of many civilizations and guide it through the many dangers hiding in the galaxy. Dawn of Andromeda is a pausable, real-time space 4X game focused on providing a fun, immersive and accessible experience that allows you to truly play as an emperor. Build your empire, colonize new planets, interact with other factions and characters, research new technologies and build fleets so powerful your enemies will tremble.

Explore a galaxy filled with diverse factions, outlaws, merchants, pirate clans and mercenaries but also anomalies, black holes, ancient artifacts, ruins and much more. Arriving in a new system may provide new opportunities or open a new can of worms.

Features:
  • Explore, expand, exploit and exterminate in this real-time space strategy game, featuring real-time combat in a dynamic and ever-evolving galaxy.
  • New factions and characters can join the fray mid-game; artefacts, ruins, anomalies and a huge variety of fascinating elements are scattered throughout the galaxy and can yield new research opportunities. Various characters such as outlaws, merchants and others roam the galaxy.
  • Asymmetric gameplay. Not all races discover space travel at the same time, some may have yet to discover it, some may have already built a mighty empire, and some races may be naturally stronger than others. However if you’d rather prefer a traditional 4X experience and start an entirely symmetric game, it’s up to you.
  • Pre-designed, customizable and randomly generated races, each with their unique backgrounds and traits.
  • Accessible gameplay, featuring a highly-intuitive User Interface.
  • Eras; unique scenarios, each with a pre-designed galaxy and background stories which you can play as one of the existing factions, each with their own victory conditions, traits, challenges and ongoing conflicts and relationships.
  • Choose between researching pre-fabricated or randomly generated ship designs, or alternatively research and discover ship parts, allowing you to create your own unique ship designs from them.
  • In depth diplomacy system. Create or join coalitions, make allies and enemies, but beware, each action you take can change how the rest of the galaxy will view you. Destroying an entire planet, or just praising or denouncing another race, can have a deep impact on the balance of the entire galaxy.
  • Reduce micromanagement by appointing governors to your colonies and council members to your empire, all of whom can be leveled up. Each come with their own unique traits, happiness and experience.
  • Multiple, customizable victory conditions, which can even be set to vary for each faction, making for unpredictable friends and foes.

Hi

Schade.

MfG

I would like to like it. Really. But the bugs kill this game.

It's not about ships getting stuck at warp points (lol), it's a bug that ended every of my games. At some point in the game I cannot design new ships anymore, because they have negative hitpoints. You create a new design and it has negative hitpoints from the start. You edit an old design and it has negative hitpoints. You edit a design, you give it a faster engine, you save the design and all your ships of that type just vanish. I assume because they have negative hitpoints.

I literally never experienced that sort of bug in ANY 4x-game. Wow. That is a true achievement. And to me it looks like it is abandoned now?

It's Unplayable now, that is all what I can say.

Ein klarer Pluspunkt also.

Man muss also immer wieder herunterscrollen!

So weit, so gut.

Sollte also kein Hexenwerk sein.

Unbelievable how a 4X game focused on simplicity can be so down rated. If you check the down reviews on this title at least a good 60% of them mention other 4X games like Stellaris and whatnot.
Those are the kind of people that have grown used to the painfully 'complicated-ness' of those titles, me I can't play any of them simply because they are unnecessarily complicated and take hundreds of hours just to be able to grasp the core mechanics of the game.

This game isn't like that.

This game is simple, it's the perfect starter game for anyone that wants to get into 4X titles. It's fun and has everything you could ask for when first entering this genre.
Graphics are great, the story, randomness of events, secrets, diplomacy, combat, blueprint making. There’s a bit of everything to make sure you have fun the way you want to.
Sure, it doesn’t have the depth of other 4X titles, but if it had it would just be another overly complicated mess of a game that's an absolute massacre for new players.

The only real down side to this title though is that it comes from some irresponsible developer that abandons games like they're prom night dumpster babies. *cough
As such it has some bugs that were never and may never be properly fixed.

Still, it's a really good game that doesn't deserve all this hate, sadly, mostly from tryhard 4X fans.

[strike] For me, it is something new and fresh! the game is a bit slow but thats ok.. I enjoy it and I'm learning the game mechanics as i go along.. for anyone that likes realtime games this is for you!! [/strike]

So, after many hours of game play, many attemps of trying to contact the devs to no avail, many corrupted saves, had to restart multiple times... THIS GAME IS FUN WHEN IT WORKS! but once the bugs start acting up the game is just unplayable... ANY HONESTLY NOT -- I SAY AGAIN NOT WORTH THE TROUBLE!

If the game does get updated and the bugs are fixed then maybe I'll give it another go... but for now and the forseeable future, it'll remain uninstalled...

Here's a good example of why this 4x space game is boring....I made a tiny map with 2 AI's and myself and I didn't see another empire for a good 45 minutes.

Other than that....it's a RTS 4x space game. If you've played Stellaris there's no need to play this. It's a bare bones, simplistic 4x with a bare bones UI. There is so much space on screen that is empty and could have valuable colony information there. Having to wait for resources so you can colonize the next world, only so your scout ships can then proceed further on the map is extremely tedious. You have a range on each ship and that range increases the more you colonize. Nothing wrong there right? However, these planets are perfectly spaced apart. So you'll never have planets in two systems, together next to each other. It's so obvious what mechanics are at play here and it just makes the playthrough boring and uninspired.

The tech tree is again, another boring and uninspired aspect of the game. THe techs are just dull and lifeless. No flavor text or imagery to spice up the tech tree. Nope....just a grey box with some text in it.

I also want to add that nearly the entire UI has no sound. Clicking buttons and moving the screen around you hear nothing except the music. You have to zoom in really close to the planet to hear anything. No sound for almost the entire game hampers my and probably your enjoyment of the game while your're just sitting at your screen waiting for gold to accumulate so you can buy another ship.

Ship combat...oh boy....lazy! You can zoom in and watch the real time battle. However, it's lazy. The animations are just of the ships frozen in space shooting back and forth. Nothing special like in Star Ruler 2 or any of the cinematics from endless space 2.

The other reviews were right. It's not worth your time. I would have seriously felt robbed if I paid full price for this on steam. Yeah, no.

I have to be honest and say that I don't understand how to play this game... It's a simple game but the design behind it... OMG what a nightmare. 1st colonising planets is ok but I don't like how planets look like... after being colonised. I also don't like how to upgrade the infrastructure on those planets... nor the deplomacy, nor how exploring works.

Try it, you might like it... but I do not like it...

The game itself is amazing. No matter what though, I am unable to complete The Second war age. I spend hours growing my army, and systematically destroying my enemies, and then boom. Game freezes when I've taken about half the map for myself. EVERY SINGLE TIME. Can't finish the damn game.

I'd love to explore systems in a real-time 4X strategy. It lacks the depth of Stellaris and other 4X ones, but this won't be a problem if real-time execution would be simple and fast-paced. This game, though... it's so shallow. Combat is uninspiring, random events are generic, surveys bring up nothing interesting. Even system names are generic.

AVOID.
6 hours of struggling with UI in desperate attempt to revive magnificent PAX Imperia experience, because of the similar colony screens with Andromeda - disastrous waste of time. It is more a diploma project than a commercial product, any cost for this is too many.

This is the worst game I own (of 139 on Steam). It is buggy, incomplete, poor pacing, and a sub-standard art style. They also plagiarised their work by adding this game to their new title Pax Nova. Iceberg Interactive need to drop Grey Wolf Entertainment, as they really make them look bad.

The devs promise updates, which then don't do what they claim and are delayed by months. You just can't trust these guys with your money and time.

AVOID at all costs! I cannot state this enough.

Eww. Well, here we go again. Anyone remember another quality space 4x, called Lords Of The Black Sun? No, I didn't think so. Well, this fellow decided that having vomitted out a complete mess of a 4X, he'd rape our wallets, disband his company and create a new one, with a new team with him at the helm, once again and make another shitty 4X space strategy game, hoping that nobody would notice.

It almost worked. Well, I had high hopes for this one, even knowing it was the same developer that made that last game and promptly abandoned it.

Anywho, back to the game though. What is it? Well, it's a pretty bare bones, generic 4X space strategy in the vein of MOO and Galactic Civilizations, just not nearly as interesting. Everything is just utterly bland. The UI is pretty horrible to navigate, the tech tree is absurdely small and pointless and most of the game mechanics have just left me scratching my damn head. I have no idea what they were thinking.

Avoid this pile of poo people, your welcome. No really, I'm serious.
