Spiel läuft von SSD

Selbst heute mit modernster Hardware ruckelt das Spiel saumäßig. Es hat schon vor Jahren Probleme gemacht und auch heute läuft es nicht stabiler. Ständig bleibt das Spiel stehen. Es hilft auch nichts VSync und den Dreifachpuffer für das Spiel zu aktivieren. Früher hatte ich mal gedacht, dass es nicht hinterherkommt, die Inhalte von der HDD zu laden, aber selbst mit SSD sieht man keine Verbesserung.

As much as this game gives me nostalgia, I really can´t recommend it. It´s overpriced, buggy and slow even with a computer that can handle pretty demanding games. For me the biggest issue is the crashing and the lack of auto save system. I understand this is an older game, but I keep loosing multiple hours of progress when the game just suddenly crashes and I haven´t saved in a long time. I hope developers had made some improvement to the game to make it a bit more stable on newer computer.

The sims 4 could never. But in all honesty its a very good game. I would wait to purchase until there is a sale as the DLC packs can add up. There's also a huge modding community for this game with mods available even if you only purchase the base game.

It has some good packs that make the game worth playing and which would be great if put into sims 4 but also has this strange aura about it which makes it feel nice to play, almost like reading a book and picturing what is really happening in the story. I'm not good with words and this is my first review on here but this is how I would describe my experience of playing sims 3. My only problem with it is that I can only play it in windowed mode, but that could just be a problem with my PC or something.

amazing escapeme mechanism tbh , you can either make your sims live your dreams or let your feelings out on them by
torture.....its basically a abusive parent roleplay
unlike sims 4 playing the game isnt fucking boring and i can actually do shit like go to a store or drive a fucking car
the building mechanism actually works too and i can actually build instead of just making a few walls then giving up
and just getting something from the gallery because the mechanism is so broken in sims 4
the last comparation i will make to sims 4 is that if you buy the cats and dogs pack you can actually PLAY THE FUCKING ANIMAL , WHY WOULD I WANT A SIMS DLC WITH ANIMALS WITHOUT HAVING THE ABILITY TO PLAY A CAT? the DLCs
in general are wayyyyy more entertaining and free spirited then i sims 4 even thought theyre cheaper
the game is kinda glichy but i can overlook that + creating sims in this game is wayyy more fun then in sims 4 because you dont
have to spend ages trying to make lips look like lips

conclusion? this game is fun and actually funcions like a simulator, is pretty damn cheap, tiny details are very cool
and is better then sims 4 (AE FIX YOUR GAME)

P.S. thx for making the bundle christmas sale , buying something that costs 1328PLN for 232PLN felt like a blackweb sale tbh

I hate that the DLCs still are expensive af even though the game is old af. Just feels off to buy a game for 20€ and then buy 19 dlcs for 20€ each (so 400€ for everything). Yes, it is fun and slightly cheaper then Sims4. but not worth that much imo

I never even bothered reviewing this?
Well fine. Yes, this is a good game, even if the full experience costs the GDP of a small country.

Most importantly, it has been on Steam since before Origin was around, so it doesn't require any sort of EA account nor Origin to play (though it is still recommended that you bypass the launcher).

It is an absolutely wonderful torture simulator. The perfect game for making innocent people lead horrible lives, leading eventually to horrible and amusing deaths.
There are also tons of adult mods for it, so it can double as a porn-game... and plenty of torture / murder mods too. Well, and just quality-of-life mods, but those are an afterthought.

Downsides include insane loading times and instability (both of which get worse as the game progresses and more things have to be committed to memory), the cost, the way the characters sound overwhelmingly American even when speaking complete nonsense, and the inability to kill small children.
I'm sure at least some of those can be fixed with mods. Maybe I should look to see if there is an accent-changer mod... but I doubt it. There probably is one for putting babies in blenders though, so I should be able to recreate Mai-Chan's Daily Life.

As much as I love this game for nostalgic reasons, I can't recommend getting it on Steam if you get it at all.

EA seems committed to screwing over Steam players, like they didn't put it for sale on Steam in the first place. They don't offer patches for the Steam version anymore, which means that unless you jerry-rig your installation to use an aftermarket patch, you can't use any content you PAID FOR on the Sims 3 Exchange.

Great Game arguable better or as good as sims 4! If its on sale then pick it up. If it is not i would wait for it to be and DONT EVER get DLC at full price. Enjoy!!!

nostalgia 5x, made a family, dad died by not being able to get out of the house during a fire, the fireman celebrated his birthday and got the dad killed, 10/10, and also cheap and worth the buy. this game>sims 4

You're forfeiting your productivity otherwise because one does not simply play the sims for 1 hour. That's not even enough time to build your character.
But if you're like me, where time is a construct--man-made BS to keep you a slave to the clock and always thinking you're wasting it but you stopped giving a f---, by all means. Waste it living the dream in the Sims.
I actively avoid this game. But sometimes it's nice to be sucked back into this little fantasy world. A shame this one never came to console because it is arguably the best one. Better than 4 imo.
Sometimes this game and DLC are on sale. I've seen it for like 10 bucks (Maybe lower, not sure) Avoid full price if possible. Unless you REALLY have an itch or want to procrastinate the s--- out of your real world adult responsibilities and would rather have some sense of fulfillment and productivity completing those same tasks in a game. EA still charging $30 per expansion pack as if they just came out. These expansion packs are almost 10 years old. I want the seasons expansion but I refuse to pay $30 for it.

Love the Sims 3 and how open it is but I give it a thumbs down because EA not only does not listen to their consumers(Took open world out of Sims 4 which people love) but how much they charge for expansion packs.

I like all the sims. I probably have more hours on sims 3 with the disc than I ever will than on here. I enjoyed this version because it was truly open world but I seem to have adapted more towards sims 4 even though it's not open world. Sims 4 does miss out on what 3 has/had but I wouldn't compare the two because they are completely different from each other. I do enjoy the 4th game to be better with needs versus 2 and 3 where they decrease faster. I do miss owning a horse, I really wish they add that back.

Still the most ambitious Sims game to date. While I appreciate many of the refinements introduced in The Sims 4, the mere absence of the open world of The Sims 3 makes it feel underwhelming in comparison. The expansion packs for 3 are also much more substantive, with each one being the equivalent of an expansion, game pack, and stuff pack in The Sims 4 and, therefore, a much better bargain. The Sims 3 can still be pretty expensive when compounded with DLC, so if money is a constraint, I would advise waiting for a sale, but I honestly can't recommend this game highly enough. I feel like the perfect Sims game would combine the attention to detail of The Sims 2, the scope and ambition of The Sims 3, and the visuals and usability of The Sims 4. In the meantime, with The Sims 2 being largely unattainable on modern devices and The Sims 4 seeming good but still feeling like a step back, this one will have to do.

I have been playing this game for years, I started off on origin then years later found out that Steam was a better place to have this game so I switched and I am absolutely thrilled to have this game. If you like simulation games where you control everything and can have a person live the way you want them to {and you have a good computer} I would recommend The Sims 3.

I only played Sims 1 on my old computer as a kid without expansions, and Sims 3 with various expansions, so my experiences may be limited, but I can safely say from what I've played and what others have said, this is the best Sims game available. I've heard praise for Sims 2 but since it's impossible to buy it anywhere anymore, it's harder to come by and try out. Would recommend waiting for the expansions to go on sale first before buying any you're interested in, because $20 is way too much. But the game itself is very fun despite the age.

They are asking for a full price while this game after 11 years is still full of bugs and glitches that completely destroying fun from this game, also they make you pay for DLCs that have the same price as based game, of course they wanna make money but DLC should be cheaper especially when based game has embarrassed amount of furniture. I was a fan of The Sims 2 back in a day and after trying The Sims 3, I'm really disappointed.

The Sims 3 is the best Sims and IDC what anyone says.

The DLC's and prices of them? Actually terrible imo, considering how old this is... but even The Sims 4 is guilty of it and tbh that's even worse in terms of gameplay.

Also, there's more customisation-ability to the World in this game too, which I freaking love.

If the Sims 3 had the graphics of Sims 4, I'd pay for the DLC, because then it would be worth it.

Do I recommend the game still, even as just base? Yes. It's worth it, even for just the base and not extortionate DLC, but even base game has more replay value due to having most things Sims 4 had as DLC's in Sims 3's base game, if you really enjoy it and decide to buy DLC for this game, I'd say it is better than the DLC that's available for Sims 4, but I would like for them to maybe bump down the price of the DLC on this game considering it's age.

I still love this game and have a soft-spot for it even after all these years.

Best game in the sims series by far but I am writing this review to ask EA to PLEASE drop the price of the DLC a bit. This game is more than a decade old and the newest DLC pack is from 2013. I swear I bought them on disc for the same price all those years ago.

Its the best Sims, bar none. The endless customization... The fully open world... No frustrating loading screens... And on a newish computer? You can install all the expansion packs you want without stability issues. (the newer the better) *Core I-5 8400, NVIDIA 1050 TI, 16GB RAM.

Worth noting they've actually increased the price of sims 3 DLC since adding the sims 4 to steam.

The sims 3 has so much content in the base game alone, it's a great game, crappy company. Don't get ripped off.

My favourite Sims game out of the series. You're looking at a hefty price if you're new to the series as the base game really doesn't offer much but this is the only Sims game that offers an open world. Island Paradise expansion is extremely buggy with Sims walking through the floor at times when on Houseboats.
Despite the cost of all the expansions and stuff packs I can recommend.

So i have had some fun over the past few years with this game.
I preffer this one over Sims 4 HOWEVER due to the age, i assume, and the way this game was coded, it is so easy for this game to become corrupted. There is mods and fixes, but my latest savegame, like all the others, just became so unstable that i cant play it anymore. I really do love the open world, the customization you can do with everything, but it just breaks naturally over time. Maybe its the addons, maybe there is something wrong with my way of playing it, but I just cant recommend it. And yes, I tried everything.

This is my favorite game by far, and I will continue to play it, however... I cannot justify the price I paid for the expansion packs. This game is far too old to be charging *the price of the game* for the expansion packs.
I have over 3,000 hours on this game. I have been playing it for years. Yet I still have not been able to buy all of the expansion packs. I have 9/19 expansion packs. That's just about $180. $20 is a week's worth of groceries for me. I'd have to give the equivalent of a week's worth of groceries just to buy an expansion pack... for a game... that's eleven years old.
Years ago, I would've recommended this game. Not anymore, at least not until there's a price change.

The sims 3 is the best out of the series and the high point before the downhill trend.

With a few choice DLC's that let you piecemeal what addons you want and some fixes to keep it running well its both feature rich and fun to play for hours and hours, The lack of loading screens and seamless transitions keeps you popping to different areas of town or home to plan things to do or just to check up on your household.Your Sims themselves will constantly keep a smile on your face as you see them go about their daily lives.

The DLC's are clearly overpriced but are worth picking up on a steam sale and know you're going to need to look up some fixes and a mod or two so the game doesn't break down on you over time.

I'd recommend to pick up University Life, Seasons, Pets, Generations to go with the base game.ALSO IMPORTANT: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1131162350 This guide to help you get the game working and keep it working.

Overall it's the must have of the series and plays better than it's newer counterpart (The Sims 4) which i'd say avoid unless you absolutely love this kind of gameplay.

combining the hours ive spent on sims 4 and this game, ive played sims for around a month of my entire life. that is 1 whole month i spent playing sims. and thats not even taking into account the fact that i would spend hours on thesimsresource dot com downloading custom content.

its one of those games that you spend long periods of time very invested in and then suddenly drop, only to come back years/months later. fun :)

If you get Sims 3 not on sale (I know no one pays full price on steam, but I'm making a point so pipe down) with all the DLCs it's £233.87. I'm not sure exploitative quite covers it, but it comes close.

The gameplay is exactly like every other Sims game. You make a person, get them a job then drown them in a pool.

The Sims 3 is a classic I would not want to be without. I keep coming back to it after playing lots of other genres of computer games. I prefer it to Sims 4 actually, although their are good and bad things about each in my opinion. I enjoy designing the appearance and personalities of my characters, taking into consideration how they are likely to respond to one another. Sometimes, it is an easy romance. Sometimes., it is very one-sided. Sometimes, I purposely set up a pair (even already married, if I want) who are going to have a hard time getting along. You're in charge - literally. Play it however you want.

The Sims 3 is a fun game that lets you be as good or evil as you want. Wanna kill off your husband after he impregnated you? Go ahead! Wanna lock your mother-in-law in the shed until she croaks? Do it! However, the developers made this program to sink its nails into your system and do what it wants. I have thousands of hours on file, but not because I've played that much. The launcher just boots up when Steam does because everyone at EA is a piece of crap. Fun to play though

A lot cheaper than sims 4 with just as many good entertaining ad ons. The ad ons themselves are cheaper. I own both 3 & 4, but find myself always drawn back to playing 3 because the dynamics are just better. Plus you're paying like $60 for every ad on. That was a major turn off for sims 4. That's like paying for one brand new switch game just for an ad on. I don't think ad ons contribute enough content to justify them costing that much. Seems a lot like a money grab more than anything else :/

fun... BUTTTTTT I would prefer if the DLC is cheaper, it came out WAYYYY too long ago to be still $20

I would rather play The Sims 3 than the newest one. Forcing us to download and play it through Origin is just wrong. The Sims 3 will do just fine until they come out with something that's either untied to the Origin launcher, or is significantly more entertaining than The Sims 3.
Honestly, The Sims 2 was my favorite iteration of this game. A remaster of that one and all its expansions would be fabulous.

my god literally the DLC's costs as much as the game itself, you devs gotta lower the prices for the DLC's.

I mean, it's The Sims. Just wait for the DLC's to go on sale and BAM. I usually get a couple every sale and I have not been disappointed.

The create chaotic family dynamics in strange, shabby looking houses without foundations simulator. Oh boy how I love this one. You can do the most dastardly things with your complaisant sims, so willing they are to obey your every command. Force them to live in the most unusual looking McMansion, and line walls with toilet paper and the same painting over and over just to make a statement about plastic opulence. Place a toilet in the living room and watch family members refuse to speak to one another for weeks from the embarrasment and oppression of it all (they'd do that in real life, anyway). Don't you want to watch your sim named Rings and Pins the Conqueror try in vain to take out the trash, when the can has been deleted? These poor sims are your personal zoo animals, and their awkwardly constructed house is the zoo. Sometimes the best things in life cost under fifty dollars.

v nice v cool. Made Miss.Glanville cheat on mr.Glanville in front of their son then made their son get commitment issues. Then eventually killed off mr and mrs glanville by isolating them in a room and i put a window their so that their children could watch.
