Very interactive and a good thing to look forward to after a long day of work/school. Definitely recommend for people who like playing games that have theatrical pieces to it, and it has playful sarcastic humor that both kids and parents can really enjoy. I truly do recommend this game to any new players who are curious about getting a Disney based game but are unsure which of them are good ones- this is definitely on the good list.

Information / Review English

Disney Universe is an Adventure / Family game developed by Eurocom.

Gameplay / Story

In a virtual Amusement Park that reminds Film buffs of a Disneyized version of Westworld, an evil AI has taken Control of the Computer systems and trapped some of the Guests in the six themed Worlds. You now have to fight your way through three manageable Sections and finally defeat a Boss in order to free the Guest trapped there and thus unlock his Costume. In total, there are over 40 Panels that can be unlocked and put on, but which would be upgraded if they were also different Functions or strengths or weaknesses such as close-range or long-Range combat. But in the End all the Characters play largely identically, so that a great chance is wasted here to do something for a higher replay Value or even increased tactical understanding in the team Selection. Up to four Players can be up to mischief in the sections based on Disney films.

Pro

+ nice Art design in a Comic look
+ Character with lots of Charm
+ famous Disney characters
+ Child-friendly
+ many tasks
+ Mini-games
+ good Soundtrack
+ numerous unlockable Bonus material
+ Trading cards

Contra

- Tasks repeat themselves over time
- Keyboard controls not implemented well

Conclusion

Disney Universe offers you a wonderful Amusement park, which has many Options and invites you to Explore. Clear buy recommendation.

Information / Review Deutsch

Klare Kaufempfehlung.

I played this game when it came out on the Playstation 3, so when it came out on steam whenever that was, i downloaded it and i play it now. When you remote play, it tends to freeze, but it will resolve itself in a minute or so.

This game is silly, whacky fun.

My 8 year old loves it. It's easy enough and non-threatening to approach. Enemies can kill your character but that just reduces your coin count for the mission, then you respawn.

I have seen reviews stating that the game does not always work and I openly admit that I have that problem at times also. In particular, when closing the game, it crashed in such a way that I have to either reboot my machine or use the task manager to force close the game in order to get my computer working normally again.

We have not yet played with others, so I cannot comment to the multiplayer aspect. That being said, my 8 year old who is normally afraid to play competitive video games spent 4 hours solid laughing while playing this game. I generally recommend it for children or parents of children willing to relinquish their computer for some solitary time.

Do not buy this game if you expect to be able to play it. The developer hasn't updated it to run on Win10. Doesn't work with most controllers. Bought as a gift and I spent more time trying to get it to run than actually playing it.

It does not have the deepest gameplay. It may be one of the simplest games out there. Still a ton of fun, though.

Before you buy this game read the discussions. There are issues with the steam controller and with it randomly crashing, and it doesn't look like disney is doing anything about it. If you're planing on playing this through steam link/streaming with controllers I'd wait until these are resolved. Its a shame because its hard to find multiplayer co-op games suitable for 5 year olds (other than lego).

Regarding the game itself, I've only managed to play about 45 mins. Its crashed twice on start up (restarting steam seems to fix that) and 3 times during gameplay. Of what we did play, its was simple, fun, the levels are short and its easy enough for young kids to pick up.

A great couch co-op game to play with your kid or significant other - it's not too hard or complex that casual gamers won't be able to keep up, but it isn't too simple that you'll get bored. Visuals are great for a 5-year old game. Get it especially if it's on sale.

The only downside is that the framerate is locked to 30fps - it's not a dealbreaker for me but I understand people who cannot tolerate it.

Also, there are other people that have had crashes with the game so it's something to look out for. Thank god we have steam refunds now, right?

I recently bought this game during the Christmas sale. So far, I like the game, but the most problematic aspect is the lack of controls-modification. There seems to be no way to keybind anything if you are PC user, so it takes a bit of practice to get muscle memory in the use of the uncomfortable arrow keys for movement.

Other than the initial awkwardness, the game is cute and fun. Game runs smoothly and is easy to pick up. Has a collectable aspect many people like me will like, where you can buy new maps, new costumes, etc.

It lacks online multiplayer and it would be a lot cooler that way.
Still fun to play, especially with kids. I've been playing it for more than two years with my little cousin and he still loves it.

Ok, So I of all the new Disney games that were recently released on Steam, I have to say that Disney Universe and Epic Mickey 2 are my favorite so far with Disney Universe on top.

You start off picking from a very generous choice of costumes for your character, from Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Tron, A Bug's Life, the Princess from Aladdin, Angelica from Pirates of the Caribbean and a bunch more. And you can find a ton more costumes throughout the game to add to your costume menu and use.

This game feels almost like your playing a LEGO video game but the amount of fun you will have here is intense.
The graphics detail is awesome and the sound fx and background music really gets you into the game. It's really good.
The cut scenes are really well done with a lot of humor and makes you look forward to seeing the next cut scene. Lot's of fun!
The gameplay is what definitely makes it for me. You run around beating up mischievous and evil little minions that are so bad they even do bad things to themselves. LOL. As you clobber them left and right, they drop mickey tokens that you will collect for unlocking the costumes you find throughout the game.

There are some moments that just cut right into the action when an arcade machine drops into the center offering you some kind of crazy challenge. Here is an example: I was fighting a bunch of minions with my sword having a hell of a time BAM BAM COMBO COMBO and all of a sudden an arcade machine drops from the air in front of me and I run up to it and activate it and it gives me a challenge to kill all the minions with a laser gun, arcade style. O.O
Oh hell Yeah! PEW PEW PEW. I was blasting them left and right! HAHAHA!!! xD

Oh and MOUNTS! Yes, you will find mounts everywhere from a cannon you can ride around and blast everything and ride animals like a sheep with a power slam or a pig with a toxic fart and a lot of other animals and things to mount and ride and find out what their skills are.

POWER-UPS! You will find power-ups all over. Some turning you into a tornado wiping everything out in your path or turning you into a jackhammer to drill into the floor and gather Mickey tokens or turning you into a snowman to zap and turn everyone into ice blocks. There are a lot of power-ups.
Also, you can level up your main weapon and every time you do it transforms into something else. I had a paintbrush and then it transformed into a magic wand and then a sword and when I got the Jack Sparrow costume, I soon after got a power-up that changed my sword into a parrot. LOL.

There are also a lot of other fun things you will find like throwable objects, bombs and water balloons and other fun stuff, and there are things that will turn you into a zombie. O.o

I experienced all this within the first 30 minutes of gameplay and I am still finding more and more fun power-ups, challenges, secrets, mounts and costumes and who knows what else will come.

This game makes great use with the 360 controller as well as Keyboard and Mouse and is a lot more fun if you have a friend come over for local co-op. It would have been so much more fun if it had online play but with the amount of fun I have with Disney Universe, I can't complain. :D

So should you get this game? Heck yea! This game is a lot of fun! xD

This game is great fun, very reminiscent of the LEGO adventure games, the soundtrack is great to listen to also!
I haven't played much of the game yet but initial impressions tell me it is a game I will enjoy finishing.
I can tell the game will be quite easy as it is obviously designed for a younger audience but I believe adults will enjoy the experience just as much.

Only problems I have encountered so far are:
- Resolution in the game settings is set to 1080p although the game looks subsampled to 720p (I am not sure but I think this is what is happening, possibly a dodgy PC port?)
- Cannot stream to a local steam client using the built in feature, the game will flat out crash every time.
- I wish it had steam achievements.

In conclusion, I rate this game a 7.5/10, pick it up and give it a go! (Definitely pick it up if you have kids that will play it!)
