LightFish is a highly addictive arcade game, where the user controls a small fish who lives in the abyssal deeps of the ocean... surrounded by deadly creatures. Das Spiel ist gut.

Das Spielprinzip ist uralt. Mit diesem Spiel wurde es aber neu variiert und modernisiert. Das Ergebnis ist ziemlich gut.

Ziel ist es in jedem Level, ein ausreichend großes Gebiet abzustecken, indem man je eine Linie zieht, ohne sich von den Gegnern erwischen zu lassen.

Es ist grafisch, musikalisch und von der Steuerung her sehr gut gemacht. Es gibt viele Elemente, die in den späteren Leveln hinzukommen und das ganze abwechslungsreich machen.

Die Level müssen der Reihe nach absolviert werden, da kann es auch mal länger dauern, bis man weiterkommt. Hat man es geschafft, bietet ein Bewertungsystem (0, 1, 2 oder 3 Sterne) genug Anreiz, zu versuchen, einen Level besser zu erledigen.

Zudem kann man alle Level mit zeitlicher Begrenzung durchspielen, eine ziemliche Herausforderung.

Pro & Contra:

Very fun Quix type game. 45 levels, 3 levels of difficulty. Took about 90 min on normal. Good achievements. Time trial mode too.

This is exactly almost 100% identical to Fortix . Cut the lines on a board making sure while doing so , you are not impeded by other fishes. Just the theme is changed with fishes and all from kingdoms , and it is as short as was the fortix. But yeah, I have no complaint whatsoever. I just like such simplicity and obsolete games in this era of Ultra 3 dimensionality.

+ Price: The game offers a time trial mode and 45 stages for 5 EUR, that's a pretty good deal.

- Level variety: More enemies get introduced pretty fast (as well as a couple new blocks), but their mechanics are pretty limited (you usually get a larger/faster enemy) and the way the difficulty increases is by making everything a lot more cluttered.
- Score system: To get 3/3 stars you have to rush through the level, which will require lucky spawns; The system just doesn't feel thought out too much.
- Nitpicks: The game has no shortcut (that I found, at least) to restart a stage; The game will sometimes show you a level as being available, but you haven't actually completed the previous one; It sometimes crashes after more than an hour of playtime.

Rating: 6/10

Maybe grab it during a sale if it looks fun to you, but keep in mind it takes less than 3 hours to beat.

This game is pretty decent. It's essentially the arcade game Qix. If you haven't played the original, you've likely played a port or flash game clone with similar gameplay before. What differentiates this one is that is has a lot of polish, and new gameplay mechanics to keep it interesting.

At the same time, I don't know if the price-point is for everybody. If you're really into arcadey games, it's probably worth 5 dollars, otherwise, wait for a sale. It frequently goes on sale for $0.99, even outside of the big Steam sale periods.

A damn fine rendition on the QIX formula. If you're a fan of the arcade classic's gameplay... you owe it to yourself to try this out sometime.

Fun little time waster. Like Tron, but not Tron. There are fish squid and crabs.

Got it in a bundle ages ago and in a bundle 8/10.

Fast paced, artistically well realized, and a wonderful remake of a game (Qix - If you've ever play it). Good game! It's got a great soundtrack and amazing design.

Lightfish is a game that seems to be loosely based on the classic volfied.

Gameplay revolves around cutting the screen which sounds and is simple in essence.

It's easy to learn hard to master with the achievements being well suited and providing a challenge for replay value.

I personally burned through this quite quickly but did enjoy the experience. It's not a game that's going to last you a long time but it is fun and entertaining.

I thought it was nice to come across this game, a nice classic style of game. It’s a great little mini game for when you are bored and aren’t looking to get into any games that big.
The graphics are pretty nice and although it isn’t that long of a game, it’s still a good time waster.

Qix got old and settled down ages ago but when it was in a midlife crisis at one point it went out to the bar and had skeezy drunken sex with Lumines and Lightfish was the baby.

If you really want Qix-alike gameplay on Steam, go with Fortix 2 first, but after you become the WORLD CHAMPION ON THE FORTIX 2 LEADERBOARDS this is a solid second place and I honestly only give it guff because of the extensive content the other title has by comparison. Lightfish is pretty cool.
