Man kann Stunden mit dem Aufbau seiner Zwergenstadt verbringen... aber Vorsicht! Wenn man nicht aufpasst wird sie genauso schnell von dunklen Kreaturen überrant

Einziger keiner Minuspunkt: Ein Tutorial wäre nett gewesen.

- Golemancer
- New Furniture
- Necromancer
- A ton of new Stuff
- New biomes
- ..................

Wo sind wir jetzt???
- Eine Keramikindustrie mit 3 lächerlichen Items
- Keine Glasindustrie
- Kaum Möbel und keine Möbel aus Metall
- Kaum Einrichtungsgegenstände
- Nur 4 Bäume, 3 zahme Tiere, 3 wilde Tiere, ...
- 1 Biome
- ..................

I would steer away from playing this game for only one reason being there is no updates in the future. The creator atleast made it up to 1.0 with the side of mod support. But even then there is still lag once you reach to a point where you increase your gnomes or the enemy count gets too high for the game to start crawling to a slow. when playing on regular. if you want to play on Tiny scale then SURE its fine. But then again my game keeps crashing when ever it feels like it when during combat with raid goblins. Or from Golems when in a state of dying and gnomes trying to retreive what ever materials it reverts too.

The game was great, full of potential, I played a lot and then realised it's broken, not just small bugs, it happened multiple times that I coudn't continue the game... This is a deal-breaker and a breach of trust from the developpers.

I wish I could recommend this game. This is a great triumph of the greenlight system since this was one of the first greenlit games. I really wish I could recommend it because it's fun, and I love the game, however, I cannot. I have had 20+ hour colonies autosave right before a game-crashing bug happens that there is no fix for. The game has been abandoned by the developer — he claims it's finished, but when the main cause of quitting and starting a new game is a bug that destroys your save file, your game is not completed. Lets go through a small list of bugs that have killed my colonies. Don't allow enemy tunnels because deconstructing them will randomly destroy your game. Don't attack skeletons because it will randomly crash your game — that's the bug that killed a 20+ hour colony, so I'm extra salty about that one. Don't allow golems because you will wind up with forty or fifty in your stockpile which will lead to the game crashing. Rob needs to release the source code so that fans can fix the bugs he's too lazy to so the game can reach a playable state.

This is softcore DF.
It is a complete game and totally playable. There are some bugs and performance issues, but to avoid it just turn off goblin tunnelers and beetles before starting and you're good to go for a long playthrough.
The game should be a lot better if the dev was still working on it though.

Hate: tricky controls and menu systems, so much trial and error, lack of in-game help...

It's a super addictive and immersive game to play, I recommend finding gameplay videos on youtube to help learn the mechanics and game progression.

This game is abandoned by the developer, when it could have been a lot more. For that reason, there are a lot of thumbs down and people saying to wait for Dwarf Fortress to come out on steam instead. However, I do not think that is fair. Certainly, there are a few more features that would have been nice, and there are one or two bugs that should have been patched, but the game is a solid endeavour that can stand on its own even without those tweaks.

The Pros of this game: The game runs well, even on old laptops, for cities of around thirty gnomes or more. The interface is easy to learn. The isometric view system is easy to use and can make for some photogenic forts. There are enough decorative options to make gorgeous rooms. Most importantly, every feature will be used, and there is nothing that is essential, while being very difficult to interact with. There are three animals, and each has immediately apparent advantages and disadvantages. There are enough foods that going from raw fruit to sandwiches feels accomplished and has real gains in productivity, but you do not have the hundreds of meal options to scroll through that you will never bother to actually craft. There are enough types of metal and stone to provide all the needed color and complexity of weapon options, but not so many as to be overwhelming. There are plenty of trinkets you can make for trade, but it isn't trivial to be able to buy out the trader after a single season.

With Dwarf Fortress, this is not the case at all. There are many food options, some using three and four workshops. But you won't make any of those, because there is no point in anything above lavish meals made from plump helmet and more plump helmet. There are literally dozens of gems, but all of them quickly end up as the same masterwork bracelets that will buy out wagons and wagons of actually useful goods from the merchants. Worst of all, there are gamebreaking problems, where things that are crucial and fort-ending to deal with like fire and contagious dust get tracked around the fort with abandon. Dwarves do not know to avoid them, and there is no direct way to contain their spread.

The major feature I do miss in Gnomoria is mood. There is an indirect implementation, where eating a better meal or sleeping in a better room lengthens the time required before sleeping or eating again. But I would have liked a way to see if Gnomes are happy or upset and have additional small bonuses when they are happy and tantrums when they are not.

But for just 15 dollars, settle for what is there. Even five years later, this is one of the most fun and relaxed, and least cumbersome Towns type simulations out there. Maybe some day, there will be a developer who can take one of these games all the way to perfect polish and optimization. Until then Gnomoria is one of the few that made it 95%, instead of following every squirrel to developer oblivion.

Great game. Just one problem, zombies are literally busted. If you see one, just say no and leave. If they attack your gnomes they will get scratched and immediately get infected and start to bleed profusely. At least two will die in a group fight unless you bombard the hell out of it and kill it quickly. Otherwise, your gnomes will bleed out and that infection will cause them to die and make more zombies which will destroy your kingdom as they make more and more of themselves. Just a heads up. There is also a very steep learning curve on this game, probably the biggest, actually bigger than Rimworld.

The game is unfinished! but what we have here is a nice simplified version of Dwarf Fortress. That being said, it's fun and very sandboxy. Do what you want, build what you want and have fun. You will grow to love your little gnome bros

Suggested settings (to avoid bugs)
Disable all enemies other than goblins
Disable goblin sappers (causes crash)

I truly wish the Dev hadn't abandoned this game. As it stands now, it's fun to play and dump some hours into (you can see I've played over 200) BUT it's obvious that it wasn't finished. I was really hoping to see this go further. It's playable as is, but if you're looking to spend money on this type of game, I would save it for the Steam release of Dwarf Fortress.

The interface is terrible, and hasn't changed at all since I tried the game years ago in EA. Add in the lack of tutorial elements, and you're never quite sure (without Googling) what's a bug and what's just piss-poor design. Ultimately, every aspect of this game ends up feeling either overly shallow or overly frustrating- and most typically, both. Near as I can tell, it's just another EA-abandoned game that the associated dev live-released to try and scam additional purchases. Viva la Steam.

Go install Ingnomia. It's free, in early access and this developer has basically give it its blessing as a successor.

Gnomoria is a game that I can best describe as watered down Dwarf fortress.
The game is somewhat fun, has cool building mechanics, and you can seriously make some cool stuff.
Lets talk about the Gameplay:
•AI is clunky. You have to jump through multiple hoops to get ai to work properly. Gnomes are suicidal and you have to meticulously set up squads to not have them dive bomb to their death like a Japanese plane. Also the menu to do this is clunky and you should probably rename all citizens, and menu options so you know what you are doing.
•The game is still riddled with bugs, menus not disappearing and really bad menuing that takes awhile to get used to. Its incredibly hard to see whats going on as you have to jump through multiple oddly placed menus to get to a simple combat log. Terraforming is an absolute nightmare and further proves that ai is trash and will constantly trap themselves.
•Content is shallow. On your first few runs you may feel like the game has a good bit to offer, but enemy types are minimal, most have annoying mechanics that aren't that fun, and the mining system kinda blows. I guarantee most people disable some mobs as their mechanics don't encourage good gameplay but rather just try to fuck you over.
•Most of the game feels half baked. There aren't alot of options in terms of items, and a lot of systems in place feel half finished and not well implemented. Along with the clunky AI, bugs, and overall bullshit I feel like the Devs just gave up and said take the game as is instead of continuing to pour love into the game.
•Games probably abandoned as much hasn't changed. The modding community might add some more stuff, but overall game feels dead and not in a much better state than it was in alpha.

If you've read this far and taken my criticisms I appreciate you reading it. I don't feel like this is a bad game necessarily, but I cannot recommend a game with so many flaws that feels as though its been largely abandoned after gaining a small following. I love building things, but the core gameplay is just uninteresting, tedious, and feels slow and unrewarding. If you like the style of settlement/survival games you'll probably get some enjoyment out of the game until all the minor annoyances build up and make you drop the game.

Well shit, I didn't realize I never recommended this beauty of a game until I fired it up again after knocking the dust off. It's just fantastic if you are into these kinds of slower paced base builder and town survival stuff. No combat animations but there is a log you can read through if you are into finding out how your gnome lost both his arms and eyes and then bled to death on the way to find a bandage. Also stay in the loop on Ignomia as it uses these assets and plans to create a much more incredible version of Gnomoria. At this time its a little too rough around the edges to recommend over Gnomoria, though.

Excellent mashup of rimworld/DF. if you're looking for a 3D dwarf fortress, Gnomoria is awesome. Mods are supported as well, so the content is pretty limitless in potential. The primary developer has stopped working on the game, so the base game is complete, as-is. Its totally worth $15 imo

While a competent enough game that sort of managed to achieve what it set out to, it didn't really aim for the stars. The final product just isn't enough. The colony management genre isn't just DF and Gnomoria anymore, and if I wanted this specific type of management then I'd sugest just learning Dwarf Fortress. It has much more depth, is activley supported, has a big modding scene and is free. The only thing this has over DF is looks and ease of use, but good resources exist to learn DF and it is quite intuitive when you get into it, and there are even plugins to give you an isometric view for DF.

Kind of cool. I would say buy if you don't have time to get into DF but want a similar game. If you want to get this game and know you have time I would say get DF and DF hack instead (free too) cause this game is pretty much like playing a shallow version of DF using only Stonesense. If you've never played this type of game give this one a shot, but you should seriously consider Rimworld instead. Mechanics are a lot like DF. If you master the mechanics of this game or Rimworld you can pick up on DF rather easily.

I adore this game. It's one of my most played games in my library. Whilst I have given it the thumbs up I would not buy this game now if you are not someone who a) likes seriously hardcore games or b) doesn't mind modding the game up.

I very rarely play it with enemies. One of the wonderful things about this game is the customization of the maps. I basically use this game to scratch my building itch. I want to build a huge village, gimmie that huge flat land, I want to make something Minis Tirith like, gimmie that big mountain.

The mods only add to this unfinished game - if you research you'll see the solo dev had plans for magic and all sorts of other stuff. Whilst there's no mod to add magic (as yet) there are mods to add more types of trees, more plants, more animals - and that's just what I found so far.

Buy it if it's cheap and you like hard games.

My favorite Dwarf Fortress-like game to date... but it was left abandoned in a broken state.

The game was not finished; look at the release history to see that the last update was 1.0. Just out of early access and then abandoned.

I've had quite a bit of fun with this game, but ultimately all my bases end in me quitting due to bugs and half implemented features which will never be finished since the developer(s) have disappeared. It's marked as 1.0 but I wouldn't necessarily agree with that. Other than that it's still a pretty fun half implemented game that you can get quite a lot of fun out of if you're really into the whole base building management genre.

Controls take a little getting used to, but it plays like any other indirectly controlled colony-sim so if you know the genre you are set. The game is focused on setting up effective supply lines between workshops, and seeing your little castle/cave/city buzzing with life, working like a well oiled machine is very satisfying. Cozy atmosphere. I mostly set it to peaceful and relax, but it can be very challenging with all enemies turned on. Remember to turn off goblin tunnels and beetles, as they kill performance eventually.

This game has/had great potential. I enjoyed my time with it greatly. Unfortunately, there are bugs, some of which are game-halting. The developer hasn't made any additions/improvements/fixes in years. Apparently the dev poured his life into this game for 5+ years and was never able to get the support he needed, and hasn't touched it again since. A damn shame, all around.

With a heavy heart, I cannot recommend this game.

All in all it is a game with great potential ... I have enjoyed it extremely much.

The reason I will not recommend it, is solely because it has been abandoned by the developer and i my eyes have let down those of us who has followed the game from the beginning.

I you look for a game like this ... keep looking ... because i my opinion this game should be freeware when the devs give up like this midway.

Fortunatly there is a huge number of users whos mods are keeping this alive, and if i could i would support them instead.

One time, I played this game while my boyfriend played Dwarf Fortress, and it was a constant back and forth of 'Oh and my game has this' 'Oh so does mine!', after spending hours comparing the two, I have to agree with him, and many others, that it's a 'Dwarf Fortress Lite'.
It's much prettier in my opinion, and I'm a big fan of the isometric style combined with pixel art, so if that's important to you, take note.
The music is great, I love the fact there are so many options to choose what kind of game you want to play, whether it be a castle defence style game, having monsters thrown at you 24/7, or if you just want a peaceful building and castle building game.
