Für mich bis heute ein Stück Gaming-Geschichte! Ich habe dieses Spiel damals auf der 360 & PS3 ewig gespielt! Super Story, wahnsinns Open World & natürlich Action & CHAOS ohne Ende! Selbst heute wirkt es nicht so in die Jahre gekommen wie einige andere Titel aus dieser Zeit...

Just Cause 2 is a great game. Destruction, explosions, too many side quests and a open world where you can wander around. Car hardling a bit cluncky. The reason i left the game after 3 hours is: VERY REPETITIVE. Wandering around and doing side quests bored the f*** out of me. In overall, I'd say worth picking it up.

Having played for more than 1100 hours, I might as well live and breathe JC2 air. Absolutely, the best game of the franchise that pays itself many times over. Graphics and animations are dated, sure, but what it more than makes up with is the replay value and chaos sandbox, which is only limited by your imagination. JC3, JC4 and even the JC mobile game can kiss JC2's sassy rear-end. Wholeheartedly recommend this game even after or especially after 12+ years.

the map was nostalgic and still is a few of the biggest maps in open world games. ashame that Just Cause 4 is the last game of its series.If Sqaure Enix cant make a 5th game of its installment then all we can ask for is a Remaster of Just Cause 2

One of the first games I played on PC. Ran on my crappy laptop at the time and was an incredible sandbox for destruction.

Never even completed the game, was too busy having fun just messing around with the open world.

In short, grapple go brrr, buy it on sale for an absolute steal.

Certified banger.

Awesome old classic that plays well and is still enjoyable to play and muck around. One major problem is for some reason at any random time the game can stutter into a crash, but thankfully the save system is ok enough to make it not game breaking.

Honestly the best one in the series! nothing can top this one, you're left with a massively open world to explore larger than anything Grand Theft Auto has ever done with various vehicles, weapons, and landscapes. True freedom and satisfying destruction even for a decade old game the graphics are gorgeous to look at.

The story is nothing groundbreaking or amazing but really you are buying this game for the engaging gameplay and atmospheric environments Snow, Desert, Tropical and Urban landscapes to explore if you like the idea the game is set in a South East Asian environment. Spent countless hours on this game on the PlayStation 3 it's absolutely worth a buy for full price!

YOU COULD GRAPPLE HOOK ANYWHERE LIKE SPIDERMAN ON STEROIDS. YOU COULD POP OUT UNLIMITED PARACHUTES, SKYDIVE HEADFIRST AND SOMEHOW REVERSE PHYSICS ITSELF BY BREAKING YOUR FALL WITH A GRAPPLE HOOK, GRAPPLE HOOK ATTACH A GUY TO A PASSING CAR, DRIVE OFF A CLIFF AND EXPLODE AND STILL BE ALIVE, GRAPPLE HOOK ANYTHING TO EVERYTHING...ALL WHILE FIGHTING AN ENTIRE MILITARY AND BEATING THEM TO DEATH WITH THEIR OWN GUYS.

Runs fine if you don't stream it. Luckily the computer I stream game on is fast enough for it and it don't crash. At least not yet. But I love this game. I love blowing stuff up and causing chaos just cause I can.

First off, I used to play this A LOT back in the day around 2010 and loved it.

Nowadays I am not quite sure what to think with there being Just Cause 3 and 4. Sure, Just Cause 2 is a big step up from Just Cause 1 but somehow it just feels a bit unpolished in comparison to Just Cause 3 and 4. There are several aspects to mention that I really dislike about it:

Difficulty: For some reason this game is more difficult than the other games. While this might not be bad, it is a unbalanced and unfair difficulty. I often died faster than I would have liked and higher difficulties even need STEALTH to take over bases and such which just seems misplaced in this game, aside of the fact that it doesn't work properly. The fact that you lose some of your items at death is also weird. The low health red screen flashing also goes on my nerves... Why do so many games use this annoying and tedious feature?

Money: Nothing bad about it but it just seems uneccessary, aside of the fact that some items are must haves such as parachute boosters and yet you always have to buy them again on death and whatever. The black market store should have been free for Rico, or at least after beating the story. Depending on how you spend, you might easily run out of money and permanently lock yourself out of it, especially if you go for 100% completion.

Ammo: I personally found myself constantly on the search for more ammo both gun and grenades. I also swapped weapons a lot to get what enemies drop but it is forced because of the lack of ammo. In a game where you fight tons of troops and destroy many things, you would think there is more ammo...

Vehicles: While all vehicles drive way better than in Just Cause 1, there are still not optimal. Helicopters control abysmally with the mouse input and same can be sad about flak turrets. No idea what is with the mouse control in this game but some elements just seem tedious slow and annoying.

Crashes, Bugs: On modern systems this game crashes almost all the time for various reasons. Most common reasons seems to be the Decals and Bokeh Filter settings on Nvidia cards. You have to disable these effects but Decals do not seem to work to begin with anyway. Just modern OS issues. Aside of that I also happen to have random UI elements get stuck in my gameplay and the parachute physics also seem to run suboptimal in framerates about 60. This game could definitely need another patch by the devs. Or maybe a remaster? Seeing as Just Cause 2 is the most liked of the franchise, I definitely wouldn't mind a remaster with some more fixes and improvements from Just Cause 3 and 4. Maybe also integrate the multiplayer part and you got yourself a remastered game people will buy in masses.

Do not understand me wrong. This game is great fun and the map and world is really cool. While these listed issues might sound like nitpicks, all combined they are quite annoying. I loved this game back in 2010 but nowadays it just seems meh in comparison to Just Cause 3 and 4. I just think there are things that could be fixed and improved about the game. A remaster could do a lot for this game and also redeem the debacle that Just Cause 4 was at launch for many.

a decent game with lots of fun going around the island and making chaos for new missions.
The story and side missions are interesting enough to complete but there are too many challenges and small tasks over the map that are difficult to do so I prefer not to complete them. However, the music is amazing.
if you like open world games, you gonna love it.

The game is really good for its time. Standard genre. Do this, kill these, save up a house. By completing tasks, you open the map and new, side missions. Some of the tasks are really difficult. The music is fully consistent with the gameplay. I have no desire to honestly complete all tasks. The storyline is interesting, but monotonous. The controls are inconvenient (for me, of course). The graphics are not very good. During the missions of the gangs, the screensavers are the same. The game allows you to calm down and relax. But on the other hand, the process of destruction does not go too far. It is enough to leave the camp with a minigun and boring fun begins. And when a helicopter approaches, it is enough just to enter the base and it will not notice you like all enemies. The most interesting trip is on the map and preferably by plane or helicopter. Thus, you can find yourself where you should have been much later. Despite the shortcomings, I advise you to play this game. For me, this is nostalgia. But I do not think that you need to play after the narrow passage, since everything interesting ends and the pursuit of achievements begins. Also a good idea is the delivery of weapons and vehicles to almost any place. That's all. Thank you. I apologize for my English. I also advise you to watch the trailer for the game. Good game!!!

Amazing game on the Playstation 3 and an even better game here! With the correct settings crashing can be put at a minimum! (around 2 times due to bad shadow settings). this game was worth every penny and I endorse you get try out arguably the best game in the series!

This is the 2nd Game and Rico Rodriguez is now on Panau Island and is the continuation of the plot from JC. The game had more improvements and the character as well as the Map with added DLC's, Sandbox Contents and improved game physics. Here's my thoughts in playing the game for many hours:

UPSIDES:
- Expanded Map and Improved Graphics much better than the first game
- Introduced Unlockables, Collectibles and New feature; Weapon and Vechicle Upgrades
- Added Easter Eggs, More Challenges and Achievements for Completionists and Hunters
- Improved Character Complexity (Upgraded Grapple, Parachuting, Stunts and Move Lists) as well as HP Regeneration when not taking damage for awhile
- Improved Physics from Explosions and Introducing Chaos Points and added some Environmental Damage
- Added More Vehicles, Missions and Areas to play till hearts content and destroying just for fun

DOWNSIDES:
- It glitches and bugs as well (Either you encounter them at gameplay or view community screenshots of the game) The bug I encountered is that the my screen resolution changes after succesive shift tabs in-game browsing or from chats and in opening PDA.
- Map Inconsistencies are there (such as having land or vacant area but from where you're standing is land itself or bodies of water. It varies during my gameplay and I don't know about yours if you play the game
- You can find some in playing the game (I hope not)

Overall, it's an amazing game. The issues are relatively minor and affects little to none in the game. The devs added patches to the game so it might not show or it's a rare percentage of encountering it during gameplays. I grabbed the game during sale. There might be some aspects lacking but I have no regrets so far. Even at the original price of it on steam, it's worth it. You're gonna enjoy blowing stuff and manipulating things on the open world map since it's basically a playground for action gamers. Others relate it to GTA due to its gameplay. I recommend it.

Great open world third person action adventure with a huge open world and over the top action. Overall game is very fun and cathartic, but if you want to explore and do everything that game can offer it can get very repetitive. Easily can recommend for everyone who likes to cause chaos and distraction.

Pros:
- Enormous open world;
- Good optimisation;
- Great visuals;
- Grappling hook and parachute is very fun to use;
- Good vehicles controls;

I don't know why it took me so long to finish - like a decade? - but once I got into the groove again, it was hard to stop.

The good:
Obscenely huge open world.
Excellent faction and main missions.
Grappling hook and parachute locomotion is fantastic.
Excellent multiplayer if you wanna go there.

The meh:
Base-busting and town-taking is fun, but there's not a lot of variation. Also, unlike later Far Crys, the baddies respawn to some degree, which takes the feeling of accomplishment away from conquering a base.
Vehicles are wobbly.
Some strange decisions when it comes to upgrading weapons and vehicles. Except for upgrading a helicopter for the flight challenge missions and the few guns you're likely to come across, there seem to be a lot of wasted items and systems. I'd never buy a car, since the driving is so wobbly I'd just crash it anyway.
Why don't I get ammo refills at bases? I was constantly low on ammo.
The PC controls are fine, but some of the default keyboard settings are a bit unusual.

The bad: Frame drops and crashing until I started using the /failsafe command in Steam properties. Then every time I opened it up, I'd have to adjust screen resolution and reset it to Fullscreen. Very annoying, but it was worth it to play the game at best graphics.

Verdict: This is a classic and still more fun than a lot of more recent Ubisoft open-world shooters. Absolutely worth a play.

This might be an older title but damn it holds up well!

My first interraction with this game was the demo version of it on the PS3 where I spent countless hours messing around. Even today now and again I boot this game up to watch the absolute carnage you can unfold in this world.
One of the favourite things I usually do is trying to level up my weapons resulting in a double barrel shotgun holding 5 shells absolutely launching enemies.

Pros

It's a just cause game duh
Beautiful environment
Destruction
No crashing problem (FOR ME)

Cons

Story is short as hell only 7 mission and too many side missions.
In order to play main missions you need enough chaos by either destruction or side missions.
liberating is annoying as hell, have to find hidden items and the map is very huge for that.

Nevertheless it was still fun playing but not as good as 3rd

Lots of action and great fun. Graphics still hold up incredibly well today - and the water effects are still amazing.

If you are having problem with crashes, just disable Decals in the graphics settings of the game. This fixes the crashing issue that I was experiencing (I am playing on Windows 10 with an Nvidia graphics card). No crashes or slowdowns now.

Just Cause 2 is quite possibly the best game. Rico is given a large list of tools to cause as much destruction as humanly possible via explosions, car crashes, and if that doesn't work shooting the problem usually will. I usually like to bring up how deep the characters are at this point in the review... but I'd be lying. Rico has no personality and believes unchecked rage is a great alternative. He is a Spanish Kratos with a hookshot instead of blades. The hookshot is actually the best grappling device I have ever seen in any game period. The amount of mobility choices that its inclusion provides is phenomenal making the very large open world fun and easy to travel. The open world isn't the deepest ever put in a video game, but the amount of places to see and things to do surely make up for it and make it feel more lived in than any of the other islands show in the Just Cause series. I highly recommend this title for its balls to the walls action and spectacle. As much as I love deep and though provoking story lines in my games, its great sometime to be able to play something that is unflinchingly fun and nothing else.

As an open world fanatic, this game does do the trick. The story is really bland and just usa bootyhole supremacy for the most part, and the gameplay can get repetitive, but the truth is, I keep finding myself drawn back to this game after almost a year, so it is, at least, good for some mindless explosions to pass the time.

This game is way better than its predecessor in every way! The world is just humongous, might be the largest I have ever seen in a game! It has lots of activities and it looks stunning. I for one loved the race events. The explosions and destruction are really satisfying and that's one of the things the game is built around and blasting absolutely everything is very much encouraged. I digged subtle things like random stats popping up in the corner showing info, whether it be time spent in the game, distance covered, enemies killed, cars driven, items collected, missions completed and so on. The world is quite diverse this time around, so it’s not just jungles; in fact, you start the game in the snowy mountains and get to see all kinds of locations including deserts. Just as the original game this one has a plethora of villages scattered around the map but it also has cities, which are just as useless as the ones in the original but at least now they actually look the part and it’s not just a dozen of five-storey buildings and a few intersections sprinkled here and there. The grappling hook is still there, so just like before you can swap all kinds of transportation on the go or just use it to move around deploying the unlimited parachute where necessary. Oh, and I also loved dying from bike explosions because if you hit something while riding a bike on a high speed it will almost always explode on impact launching you into the stratosphere!

Now to the drawbacks. The Steam overlay only worked the very first time I launched the game and after that it didn't work once. For some reason GPS arrows often lead you against the oncoming traffic. The controls are a bit confusing at first, especially the part where it shows you weapon A in the left corner of the screen and weapon B in the right corner (e.g. grenade in the left corner, and a rifle in the right). Naturally, you would expect the right click to activate the gun and the left click to activate the nade. But nope! Took me a while before I realized that it's the other way around, which is very counter-intuitive. At first the game would crash once in a while, following the advice on the internet I turned off decals and bokeh in the game settings and never had a crash since. One thing that made it difficult to play was ammo! I often didn't have enough ammo and the ammo crates are sort of disposable so you can only use them once... It was especially bothersome when I tried to explode every object there was to explode to get more XP and whatnot because for that you need ammo and there is none to be found even if you control the military base. Of course you could always buy it from your chopper delivery boy but it costs money and unlike the first game in the series there are no pistols with unlimited ammo. Oh, and one other thing about the weapons in this game: I bloody hate rocket launchers now because you will encounter quite a few enemies with these and they will one-shot you out of the blue like it's nothing even on the easiest difficulty level. I was blindsided like that many times. Another little nuance is there are no footprints or marks from your car in the snow or in the sand and that is not a big deal at all but I kind of missed that.

Inevitably many will compare this game to GTA and if I had to choose between GTA: San Andreas and Just Cause 2 I would have chosen the latter any day of the week, but that comparison hardly makes any sense because San Andreas came out back in 2004 and JC2 came out in 2010! Comparing it to GTA IV would make more sense as GTA IV was released in 2008 and that's where making a choice becomes difficult but we’re not talking about GTA here, are we? So yeah, the game is very enjoyable indeed and I can only imagine what to expect from the next one in the series.

What if.....Mission Impossible is directed by Michael Bay? Yes, that's Just Cause 2, is the name of the game. The game brought a lot of memories when I used to play it on console, but I remember it was buggy on Day One.

You'll play as CIA Rico Rodriguez tasked to kill your former mentor, after the President/his intelligence believed that he is corrupt, but you'll soon uncover the truth of conspiracy.

All and all, this game is something to get lost on, you don't really have to do f@#k!ng missions. Just, go parachute, get collectables and grapling hook here and there to get where you are. This game is not just Michael Bay's trait, with fun world map to explore in any ways. Gunfight seems decent, you don't need to zoom in and enemy is a bit challenging.

Cons however, is largely that the WIFI indicator often mislead/bugged you to several collectables scattered around Outpost and Town, while CHAOS object being unmarked to complete town progress is frustrating as hell. That part is exhausting really, because you need to progress 100% on each Town, Outpost or Area to unlock guns and Fast Travel and some missions. Otherwise, you'll just have to f@#K around a lot on the beach and ran out of ammo and money.

In AMD A12 9720p / RADEON R7 / 12 COMPUTE CORES 4C+8G w/ 12GB RAM, the game performs decent, but a small lag and stutter occurred when Michael Bay's explosion and RPG rocket blazing became a problem, but then you'll manage.

A great nostalgic masterpiece for me.

The game is really what they say; Michael Bay: The Video Games. Just Cause 2 is packed with a lot of action, explosion, a cheesy plot and voice acting, and an open world that delivers a massive amounts of entertainment in ways that no one's really quite done before. (Other than the sequel)

If somehow it's not too late, I just recommend that you don't play the third one and then come back to this because that sequel will ruin a lot of aspects of this game for you. The franchise could also use some music while traveling. Other than that it was a fun and fantastic game.

Just Cause 2 is a great gaming experience. This is a true open world experience, with many freedoms in the game play. Flying and driving were well done, and the story was funny a good break from some of my other games. The game can be mindless fun to quite a test on your skills, depending on your difficulty settings, though was not a truly taxing challenge. The challenges were the hardest part for me, but watching guides on it made it far easier.

While this game has been a great experience, I had an internet outage during my gameplay, and glad that this game worked without being connected for many hours. This is a concern that I have about Just Cause 3, from what I have been reading. I will soon find out if this will be an issue.

Huge world map and great variety of cars/weapons.
Don't expect cutting edge physics despite the appealing graphics level - it's even worst coming from Just Cause 3 (that was all my bad).

Just Cause 2 is an action-adventure game in which the protagonist is Rico Rodriguez, a secret CIA agent who must cause chaos in the paradisiacal island of Panau.

This game is the purest of amusements and is based on the destruction of everything that stands ahead. The story is very poor, but still, it manages to fulfil its task, which is to give some context to the game. Despite some graphic flaws, Just Cause 2 remains a beautiful game.

Despite some repetition and lack of a better story, the intense action and freedom that the game offers may counterbalance. If you've always dreamed of spreading chaos and destruction, this is the game for you.

So you play as Rico Rodriguez, an Agency soldier sent to Panau....oh, forget all the plot. This game is about blowin' stuff up real good. And it's one of the best games ever at that simple idea. Blow up stuff, shoot stuff, tie tanks to 747s so they try to take off and crash, this game allows you to destroy just about everything. Just Cause 2 might have been released years ago, but it's the best game for 2020 yet made.

This is one of my favorite games of all time. There's just so much in this game; and when that's done there's a lot of ways to make your own fun thereafter. Ignore the main plot though, Avalanche put their effort elsewhere.

I like this game so much!!! It give you so much freedom to ride and fly around causing chaos and toppling an oppressive regime (also statues lol). A must buy!!!

After sinking 142 hours into this game, I think it's time to review it.

Just Cause 2 is big, bombastic, stupid, and engrossingly fun. There's a shallow story in there, but the focus is almost exclusively on the huge, gorgeous open world full of cool vehicles to steal, military outposts to destroy, and most importantly, STUFF to spectacularly blow up and demolish.

I did not like just Cause 3. I haven't tried Just Cause 4 yet. Just Cause 2, however? It's one of my favorite games ever. It also often goes on sale for less than $5, so you don't have to take my word for it.

If you're a completionist, I'd probably not recommend this game where you'll have to deal with an overly massive map filled with repetitive content but if you take it for what it is, a B movie plot where you Spider-Man through the island of Panau with the luxury of using machine guns and rocket launchers then it's fun. The vehicle physics and camera work are truly awful though.

This game is very fun. The combat takes some getting used to, and the keybinds on PC can be pretty weird, but damn is it just a fun action game. Just a lot of running and gunning. I took my time and beat it in 14-15 hours, and only got about 28% completion in the game. There's a lot to do in Just Cause 2! Get the game on sale, because I got it for $1.49, and for that price, it's very good.

Michael Bay Simulator 2.

The game's story is clearly not the focal point of the experience, but it does its job well enough. Just Cause 2 might seem like a standard, open-world shooter, but there are a few gameplay mechanics that make it special. Just Cause 2's biggest gimmick comes in the form of Rico's grappling hook. To call it a gimmick is perhaps an injustice however. This is essential to the experience. Not only does it allow for numerous fun tricks in combat (stringing up enemies, pulling them from towers, attaching them to gas canisters), it also provides an excellent platforming mechanic. You're able to scale the game's biggest sky-scrapers in seconds thanks to the way the grappling hook controls. There's a learning curve to using it, but once it clicks, the world suddenly becomes so accessible. Factor in the parachute, and you're essentially privy to a better travel system than the game's vehicles.

Just Cause 2's main storyline will take anywhere upwards of 20-hours to see out, but the heart of the game lies within it's sheer breadth of exploration — finding everything could take 100 hours or more. all the weapons available to Rico (including pistols, machine guns, shotguns, rocket launchers, etc.), storming through the island of Panau is always action-packed and it's always satisfying. Adding in around 100 different vehicles only makes the game more enjoyable.

I haven't had this much fun with an open-world game in years. Just Cause 2 is over-the-top and insanely fun. Rico Rodriguez might just be my new hero. 8´5/10.

Although it's not as visually impressive as Just Cause 3, I feel like this game has much more to offer. The map is larger, there are more settlements to liberate, and there are more missions to do. It's definitely worth the price, and I highly recommend it to anyone who's a fan of action movies and third person shooters.

The game setting is magnificent, feels like alive, although this game is almost 10 years old. I can now say that this game aged well. There are few dips and minor crashes when playing game, especially when i wanted to exit the game, so i need to restart my computer. But overall, great game! Looking forward to finish it.

Oldie but goodie.
Bionic Commando + Mercenaries = Just Cause 2

Only have 24 hours in the title, but it feels like I should have more - not in a bad way though. Game is somewhat redundant per side story, but overall generally fun and open-world. Leaps and bounds better than the first installment with the only catch being a buffer overflow condition if you turn on bullet decals in the game settings - make sure it's off, regardless. Enjoy raising some hell, taking down tyrants and liberating the impoverished - good times.

10/10 - would shoot bad guys in the face repeatedly again and again. Most definitely worthy of a Steam Sale purchase.

I've beaten this game twice on xbox, and its just alot of dumb fun. Blowing stuff up and insane movement adds alot to the fun factor. Weak story, and bad writing hurts the game though. It feels like alot of fluff. But damn this games got style! This is like a 8/10 action with a 4/10 story. Overall its a 6/10

In my ongoing and likely futile effort to write a Steam review for every game in my library (#187 out of 555)... it's time for Just Cause 2.

It's a big open world sandbox game where you're given a lot of tools to produce mayhem, but very little context. If you like violence for violence' sake, you'll have a hell of a time spreading chaos throughout the game world. If not, if you need a little something more, a bit of substance or grounding to your adventuring... well, in that case, like me, you'll likely lose interest fairly quickly.

That said, the grappling hook mechanics are really quite something, and I'd love to see the mechanic iterated on in future games.
