Dann braucht man wenigstens zwei.

Danke Warhorse!

looted corpses and sold their belongings
stolen from poor farmers
equipped a shiny armor so everyone thinks im a knight
becoming respected by every peasant eventhough all i do is steal and stab people in the back

so far i haven't:
won a fight

i would recommend the game

Amazing game with much love to detail. Sometimes i even feel some Gothic 1+2 vibes just without those fantasy aspects. Love the approach to the historical medieval setting. There's no rpg out there like this. A very unique and intense experience if you give it some time to get in to it. Skillsystem, looting and leveling is very well done. I needed about 10 hours to get into it and from that point it's just a blast. The overall visual quality is just beautifull even in 2021. The quality of audio and the synchronisation was done very professional and can be compared to any triple A title out there. Respect Warhorse, really well done and please give us a second game like this.

A Womans Lot:

Band of Bastards:
(Stachel ftw))
Sehr schöne Sequenzen.

From the Ashes:

+ viele Spezialisierungen (spezielle Vorteile)

- Ladezeiten
- langweilig inszeniertes Würfelspiel (kein Vergleich zum Würfeln in The Witcher II)
- Bug: manchmal flackernder Rauch an Feuerstellen

FAZIT

detailliert.

Alles in allem also ein gutes Rundum-Paket an mittelalterlichem Spielspaß.

Kämpfen muss man in Kingdom Come Deliverance nur 3 mal.

Das all Seitz beliebte Kampfsystem:
Was machst du in meinem Haus?

Truth be told, this is one of my favourite games of all-time... I played this excessively on the Xbox - since then I have become a PC gamer for the most part - so you can imagine the excitement I got when I went onto the Steam store and saw this beauty of a game on offer for less than 10 bucks with all of the DLC as well... Now, if you excuse me, I am going to disappear for a good few weeks and enjoy this game all over again.

The combat is some of the best in any RPG out there and that goes for the overall visuals (this game is stunning on my 3060), sound effects and story too. If you are in doubt, I promise you that you will NOT regret getting this game, especially now that it is on sale.

Oh, and one more thing: It takes some time to really get yourself into this game, do not give up immediately.

The road is long, my feet are sore.
I'd buy a horse, but I am poor.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is an immersive and authentic role-playing game. Set in Bohemia during the Middle Ages, your character scours the dangerous lands to avenge their parents’ death, and get back at the ones responsible for the destruction of their village.

Blue skies overhead, green grass underfoot, beautiful girls… and a fine steed under your backside!

This title has, genuinely, some of the best-looking outdoor areas in video games to date. Distant forests and terrain are downright beautiful, particularly when basked in the gentle haze that comes with sunrise or sunset. The package continues with stellar art direction, great lighting and shading, excellent texturing and good model quality to really immerse you into the game’s world. Nvidia users are even graced with Ansel to take cinematic pictures with, in spite of its awkward implementation. Just a shame about the occasional blemishes in visual quality due to culling or limited animation… or the not-so-uncommon and quite distractingly low-quality rain effects. Weather phenomena look wholly flat, and the skies never seem to be cloudy enough for it.

Built on the CryEngine, you can be certain it’ll make your system cry. With a mix of high and very high graphical settings at 1440p, my Ryzen 9 3900X, 32GB RAM, 1070 Ti, Windows 10 Pro system, most exterior scenes play at 60fps, but reaching the low 30’s is far from uncommon. Usually this isn’t an issue due to the slower pace of gameplay. What is a problem is the abundance of bugs of various kinds: animations, broken quests, infinite loading loops, busted inventory screens and at least one instance where returning a quest item breaks its interaction for the rest of the playthrough… Tread with caution, and try to save often.

Audio design is rather sound, too, if you pardon the pun. A bit unfortunate that the music is repetitive, for the composed soundtrack is otherwise brilliant: violins, flutes, drums and all manner of implements come together to create an engrossing rustic atmosphere, no matter if in civilized areas or out in the wilderness. Remaining sound effects are solid, if a bit on the bland side – I suppose realistic foley is less dramatic in general.

But the true winner has to be the dialog, as it’s almost entirely stellar voice acting with plenty of hilarious moments and tense, dramatic discourse. If you can get past the oddity of most everyone in medieval Central Europe speaking in a British accent, you’re in for a treat to the ears.

Life is one long series of problems to solve. The more you solve, the better a man you become.

For Henry, the son of a blacksmith lazily living in the mining town of Skalitz, an otherwise normal summer day turns to disaster. A massive army invades and destroys the settlement, with much of the villagers – including Henry’s family and many of his friends – killed in the attack. Losing everything he had, most importantly including the decorated sword that his father smithed, and which he was meant to deliver to the king’s hetman, Henry embarks on a quest for revenge… but must first learn to not be total arse at absolutely everything.

In short, it’s an RPG with a fixed backstory and fixed character, but which makes up for this with a gripping storyline, splendid historical authenticity, and a good degree of freedom in its rich gameplay.

I'll find that thieving rat who took my sword and run him through with it!

Such a high degree of authenticity means Kingdom Come: Deliverance has quite the steep learning curve, and a familiar-but-no-less confusing jankiness to the game feel. Reaching to grab or fiddle with something is awkward because of rigid animations (often with locked perspectives) and short interaction ranges. Being too slow to climb steps or enter doorways may have you stuck momentarily until you gather momentum, while bushes, big and small, act as impenetrable obstacles for you and your steed.

Saving the game is limited initially, as only sleeping in a bed or consuming certain expensive and alcoholic beverages reliably save your progress. Archery has no crosshair, so good luck aiming straight even at contact range. Alchemy is easily exploitable but rapidly turns absolutely tedious. To project bodily harm unto someone, you must first realize that Henry is most likely going to lose a fist-fight against the town drunk…

Combat itself is a mixed bag. You swing and stab from preset regions on a target, while managing your stamina, positioning and preferably striking and deflecting when most opportune. Weapon choice makes a big difference as enemies slowly transition from wearing plain cloth, to chainmail and plate that effectively resist slashing strikes. That being said, all this falls apart when multiple opponents gang up on you. Even if NPC AI is generally… undercooked, this game’s lock-on targeting mechanics make it no easy feat to come out of such melee in one piece, especially early on. With compounding damage worsening one’s ability to fight, once a side starts losing a fight, they’re likely to keep losing until death or surrender.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2783877731
But not all is bad, for your character is also graced with the legendary ability to learn. Henry has plenty of opportunity to improve and grow as a person, mostly through repeated practice. Developing his skills will take time, perseverance, and possibly a lot of reloaded saves, but it will be worth it when those bandits you dreaded dozens of hours ago become pushovers that cower under your threatening words, or keel over from a stick swung to the head. Most quests across the expansive world present multiple solutions, which align with the stealth-diplomacy-aggression archetypes people expect of RPGs. Murder is a solution most of the time, but the results may be less preferable to simply redistributing an item, or convincing someone to do your bidding. Said combat also becomes a little too easy past the mid-game, but no less annoying when enemies Master Strike you from every other attack of yours.

It bears repeating again: this game is tough, especially early on. Many mechanics are obtuse or downright infuriating (such as most of the stealth skills…), others are just boring (level up your herbalism by crouching and picking flowers! over and over.) People react to your wrongdoings, whether you’re just talking in the wrong manner or swinging a longsword at them. But few games ever represent the journey from zero-to-hero as well as this. If only the game let you know somehow that following the main storyline up to a point provides lots of useful rewards, including a free horse and nigh-essential sparring lessons.
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2779536773
Between tons of unique quests, a handful of repeatable activities, a massive world to explore, dozens of attire and equipment types to mix-and-match, and a fair selection of skills and perks to gather and specialize in (even if many are not that useful), there is a lot of game to go through. The main story alone could take over 30 hours to complete. The fantastic DLC content can easily stretch this into potentially triple digit hours of playtime for completionists. I can definitely say my journey was worth it, even if it wasn’t the smoothest ride out there.

God be with you, Henry.

Ambitious, massive, and rough around the edges… but Kingdom Come: Deliverance rewards patient players with surprisingly rich history lessons, and a fantastic immersive-sim RPG.

One of the best RPGs that I have played in recent memory. The game mixes fiction with historical realism. The story is worth playing through. Watching Henry's progression throughout is gratifying and a joy to watch. You want to see Henry succeed. I had a lot of fun learning the combat. Learning the strengths and weaknesses in weapon types and armor made me feel very immersed. The scenery is beautiful. The world isn't super active, but it offers a calming experience. However, bandits lurk the roads, and you must be alert.

There is so much to do in this game, it's hard to put it into a review. I spent over 100 hours, and feel as though I could revisit the game. I haven't even played the hardcore mode, which I've heard adds a whole new level to the gameplay. I would definitely recommend this game. :)

Kingdom Come: Deliverance (Kingdom Come) is a medieval role-playing game developed and published by Warhorse Studios, as well as published by Prime Matter. It was released in February 2018. In Kingdom Come, you play as Henry of Skalitz, who is on the path of revenge to find the faction that raided his hometown of Skalitz. This review will cover the story, mechanics, and technology. I will likely post separate reviews of Kingdom Come’s four DLCs.

Story / Environment

Kingdom Come is set in Bohemia, along the Sasau River. It features a number of cities, castles, and villages, all unique in their own nature and reminiscent of the history of Bohemia. Crucially, these locations are known for their particular features and this is replicated in dialogue throughout the game. For example, Sasau is the religious centre of the province and is building the St. Procopius monastery, and there is dialogue from travellers moving to Sasau to work on the construction, and it is these little things that builds worldly immersion.

Across my 111 hours of play, Kingdom Come has an excellent and well-built story. It is paced incredibly well and it progresses beautifully throughout. It fortunately peaks at the conclusion but the calmness of the storytelling makes the end not seem abrupt, but rather a logical progression given how the story would unfold in history.

Kingdom Come provides flexibility in opting between the main story and side stories, and the side stories are mostly engaging and well-written. They are diverse and quests are open-ended, but the highlight I like is the character progression in this element, where even after you conclude a quest-line (main or side), most of the encountered individuals remember your choices and actions and their behaviour is adjusted appropriately.

This is likely a sub-set of the ’reputation’ system, which your behaviour in different locations in the province determines your likeability and trustworthiness among the population. And while the reputation seems abstract and secondary to the game, it provides another layer of immersion and realism in the province, like in life, because ultimately, historical villages and cities did not have near the level of population experienced in society today.

Circling back to the main story, Kingdom Come’s character development is phenomenal in that throughout the story you see the transformation of a number of characters. An added bonus here is seeing these personalities grow over time and how they address issues and other characters and their contrasting motives. The only glaring issue here is repetitive character models and glitchy animations (i.e., weird facial expressions, stiff, and scripted animations, characters walking into a wall, those sort of issues).

Nonetheless, character development is a key highlight of the narrative and one aided by superb and targeted dialogue, and by targeted, I mean gives you the plan and motives with the right balance of context. I will also note here in the context of character development, dialogue, and the very good, if sometimes robotic, voice acting, the journal system (codex) helpfully rounds out just about every element of the game.

Combat System

I will note mechanically, I think Kingdom Come’s combat system is good and fun. Duelling is clean and tactical and it rewards patience with a focus on defence, blocking, and counterattacks. These focusses become especially crucial in the later stages where you do not become overpowered because you're levelled higher than others, which is pleasant.

Unfortunately, the duelling system becomes messy when you are attacked by multiple enemies because the system is built on facing one opponent, blocking their strikes, and so forth, and that does not translate to when you face multiple people, particularly when combined with frequent performance issues (discussed below).

The other issue hindering the combat system is the interaction between the animation system and the environment. Flora and the geometry in the environment act like invisible walls, so attempting to flee through a bush and being blocked, for example, becomes frustrating. There are also other instances of your character backing off and unintentionally climbing some smaller trees, so it is a issue affecting combat in confined spaces.

Performance

I understand Kingdom Come is built on CryEngine, an engine with reputation of producing beautiful environments and gorgeous graphical details, at the cost of performance. This view is correct in the context of Kingdom Come, a beautiful video game excelling in the level of detail in the scenery, features of characters, and buildings and objects, but there is still areas of poor performance.

For context, I meet the recommended settings and trialled medium and high settings. I noted that on high settings I averaged around 65FPS when in villages like Skalitz and Samopesh and the countryside, but I would drop to an average of about 35FPS in the cities and castles like Rattay and Talmberg, and medium only added a few more FPS, nothing notable. Ultimately, the performance of the game did disrupt my experience often and is one of two real issues throughout my play.

Specs:
CPU: Intel i5-6600k (3.5GHz).
Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4-3200 speed.
Storage: Intel 540s Series SSD 240GB.
GPU: Gigabyte GTX 1070 8GB G1 Gaming.

Conclusion

Kingdom Come is an excellent game featuring a fantastic story that is well-built and intense. The story particularly shines with a great set of characters whose personalities are visibly impacted by the story and the world around them and whose behaviour and actions mature and change as it unravels. I equally praise the richly detailed environment and beautiful towns that provide unparalleled immersion.

Unfortunately, Kingdom Come is fundamentally impacted by fairly poor performance across the board and an animation system that struggles within the interaction between it and the world, suggesting another level of polish is needed. That said, this is a game that bought me into the narrative and has sold me on a sequel and I really look forward to what’s next. I recommend this at full-price.

You won't find another game like this.

+Haggling system
+Great HUD and UI
+Reputation system
+Enjoyable main story
+Many unique characters
+Graphics are generally great
+Good performance that scales well
+Appearance system: enemies react when you are dirty, bloody, etc.
+One of the most unique games I've played. Medieval setting with no fantasy aspects
+You begin as a peasant in every aspect: you must learn how to read, hold a sword, etc.
+Very 'alive' world: NPCs sleep and work, bandits lay ambushes, you can be challenged to duels, etc.
+Aspects of realism that add to the game: sleep mechanics, overeating, injured body parts, food decay, etc.
+Slow, careful combat. You will get destroyed in the beginning of the game even in 1v1, and multiple enemies can easily overpower you even in late game

-DLC is generally pretty bad
-Facial animations are ok at best
-Voice acting ranges from great to awful
-Somewhat buggy, but nothing game-breaking
-Picking herbs triggers an unnecessary animation
-The ending is dragged out too long with DLC installed
-In-game money eventually becomes too easy to acquire
-Dialogue choices are sometimes too 'summarized' when choosing one
-Switching between targets during combat is inconsistent and frustrating
-Too many bushes have collision, which sometimes makes traveling needlessly difficult
-Save system that leans into the game's more hardcore aspects, but often proves frustrating
-There was virtually no incentive to switch between sword/axe/mace rather than sticking to one

An awesome expiriance! Id recommend this game to anybody and everybody! The price is pretty fair. The gameplay is fun and challenging. And the story is great. Its very realistic, both gameplay wise and story wise, but even historicaly acurrate! As a Czechian I am very proud what the studio managed to do. That being an amazing open world game adventure about our history. Truly a mesmerising expirience.

Spoiler mate:
I fight a priest in the church.
I beat the priest.
The priest and I go drinking.
We get drunk.
We have a night of debauchery.
The priest and I get lucky with two girls in the same barn.
We wake up drunk and go to church.
I give a sermon while drunk.
The town agrees with what I say.

Best video game in years, maybe ever. Nothing else like it...nothing else even comes close. Sets a new standard for RPGs and all first person games well into the future. Combat is amazing...makes you want to spend hours and hours in-game just training with Capt Bernard or playing the Rattay tournament. The story is compelling and the immersive--a journey to remember. 11 out of 10 stars.

This is by far one of the best games I've ever played. It is such an underrated game. I think mainly bad reviews come from the bugs (which is not much anymore after 3 years of release) or the fact that it has a difficult combat mechanics. And it is true, you should have a lot of free time to enjoy this game because every single thing you do in the game is like a simulation. I played non-stop 14 hours when I first installed it.

It deserves every price of it but you should buy this game when you are on a vacation or something. It will be very difficult to quit the game. 10/10 highly recommend!

Tl;dr: if the idea of realistic Skyrim sounds appealing to you, definitely give this a try.

The immersive world is the best part of this game. Graphics are good and it's fun to just travel around enjoying the landscapes, at least at first. Main quest is interesting, I still haven't finished the game 90 hours in, but I'm a completionist when it comes to side quests. I wouldn't recommend this playstyle as the side quests are generally quite boring fetch quests. Everything is voice acted and the main character also speaks and has personality as well.

With realism comes some tedious aspects, like how you have to be always repairing your gear, and of course you cant repair everything at one shop, but have to look for like 5 different shops to be back in combat shape. Imagine doing this dozens of times. Sounds fun, doesn't it? Thankfully the mod support is good and with them you can shape the game to fit your playstyle, but watch out for becoming overpowered.

From what I see people mostly complain about combat and bugs here. Combat is definitely weird at first, and the targeting system sucks. But I enjoyed the difficulty of it, and the feeling of progression. Definitely better than Skyrims combat. Bugs are there but nothing game breaking yet, I'm willing to overlook those a bit in such a big game from a small studio.

It's a masterpiece. What you get, when you buy this game is an entry into a medieval world. The developers have attempted to create an authentic experience of 15th-century Bohemia, and it works for me. Kingdom Come is an open world RPG, but it feels really unique due to the fact that it's grounded in historical reality rather than the usual fantasy or sci-fi based worlds and stories that are generally typical of the genre.
The combat is difficult to grasp at first, but rewarding when you get better. Combat requires a bit of skill as you try and create an opening to strike an opponent. Even fights can be a long slog if your opponent is a skilled fighter. Taking on more opponents is even harder.
The games story is really good with some great characters. Overall as much as I like this game though I think it's fair to say it may not be for everyone. It can be quite a slow game and can be frustratingly difficult at the start particularly.

This game is such a gem. it's in my opinion the most immersive n realistic RPG i've played, i am surprised by how good this game is. i didn't mind the slow start and Henry sucking at everything , it felt like a good book with good character development overtime. It's my current favourite RPG of all time.

This game legit surprised me.

It's incredibly fun and immersive, and even the combat (which is the part that gets the most shit) is surprisingly satisfying. It's not even as hard as people are saying, I only watched a 5 minute video on YouTube and now I'm wiping the floor with the AI's ass. For me this game even rivals Skyrim and The Witcher 3, it's a true RPG at heart and it has a lot of soul.

I hope to see more games from this developer, they are incredibly talented.

So it's been awhile since I finished it, but I can still remember most of they story and gameplay. This game has a well written story all be it a bit slow sometimes which might put some people off, but worth it in the end.

The combat gameplay is what makes this game unique, due to it's directional combat. It makes it impossible for you to take on more than 3-4 enemies at one time or you will get overwhelmed and killed, during the early game it's even harder and you will be punished if you think you're a God like in TES V: Skyrim.
This game really does deserve more hype than it received, even if it's a bit of a niche.

Quite possibly the best game of its genre. I like how realistically they tend approach to the medieval notions. There are no shortcuts, there are no immediate transformation from a boy to the hulk. It is a long process to learn the combat. And as your character is learning his skills, you are to learn yours. The gradual increase in confidence in melee fighting is a healthy combination of the two. You can finish the game with ripostes, but you would be a dull squire knight as a result. If you do your part and understand the mechanics then the combat becomes a flowing choreography, a wonder to behold.

I see a lot of negative comments are coming from the younglings who are used to destroy armies once they get to hold a sword in the early game. Their irritation, disbelief and negativity is a huge plus for me. I love the suffering of those who are used to finish games in effortless hack and slash.

On top of that there is zero visible political correctness/SJW concerns in the game. If this story was on Netflix, then one of the main characters in medieval Bohemia would have to be black. Or lesbian, or both. We would be forced to judge the history from our modern perspective. So this setting seems much more closer to the medieval sense. Quite educative too.

So Instead of making the game relatable to anyone with money, they kept it as true as possible to how things were. And the result is a gorgeous, very detailed, top entertaining game. One of the best RPG's I have had the honour to experience.

Can't wait for the sequel.

Kingdom Come Delivered

Kingdom Come: Deliverance (KC:D) is, without a doubt, one of the best historical RPGs on the market, only rivalled by the Mount and Blade franchise. What separates KC:D from Mount and Blade is the real historical setting, set-in narrative, and more skill-based combat. KC:D does not offer any grand battles or enormous castles. It focuses on a smaller scale, exploring the lives of common people and smaller lords that oversaw them. As the game takes place only in a small part of the Bohemian kingdom, everything can be much more fleshed out and personalized, bringing the early 15th century daily life to our screens.

Hey, Henry’s come to see us!

The main protagonist, Henry, does not start up as some grand local hero, similar to the scope of the game. Instead, he is the son of a local blacksmith in the small town of Skalitz. He does not know how to read nor how to properly wield a sword. These are hyper-realistic aspects of Medieval society as there was no need for common people to know how to do those things. Throughout the playthrough, that is subject to change, or not, depending on how you play. If you so desire, you can beat the game with your Henry not knowing how to read, wield a sword or even drink alcohol properly.

Character development is done through a skill system comparable to Skyrim’s. The more you do a certain thing, the better you are at it. When a certain level of proficiency is reached, you get a skill point as well as new skills unlocked. A lot of options will be the same for a lot of players but there are a few pairs of skills from which only one can be chosen. This leads to more thinking when it comes to developing your Henry. Will he be better at talking to nobles or common people? Or maybe he will be better in the wilderness compared to a city. Overall, the skill system is a good way to help steer the playthrough towards a more unique and individual experience.

However, this system brings forth a few issues. As already mentioned, you will unlock the majority of the skills by the end of the playthrough, making only the immediate repercussions matter. Because of the skill system, higher levels of proficiencies, as well as the main level, become more of an annoying grind than a natural improvement that happens throughout the game. Some of these proficiencies are underused or have only one or two useful perks in them; looking at you, “Herbalism”.

Realistic combat?

KC:D bases its combat on historical sources as well as the help of historical experts to bring as realistic an experience as possible. In its core, combat is directed by a star-shaped aim cursor, which indicates five directions you can attack in. You can also chain these attacks to throw opponents’ guard off. Fortunately, blocking automatically stops attacks from any direction. On top of that, you can also learn new moves through training, such as feints or counter-attacks. And if you reach a certain proficiency level with a weapon, you can even unlock new combo attacks that happen when you chain attacks in a specific order.

This all sounds great when you are in a one versus one situation. It falls apart when there is more than one enemy. The combat camera locks you on one enemy and you must either switch between them by flailing your camera around or using the scroll wheel. Now, that would be somewhat manageable, but they do not attack you one by one. Instead, they just wail on you like crazy. And so at many moments, you will find yourself mashing Q to execute a perfect block on some off-screen enemy’s attack. To put it bluntly, group combat is not fun at all, and it is a shame that a great combat system like this was not readjusted for facing more than one foe.

Choices that actually matter

KC:D takes into consideration the decisions you make during conversations as well as the way you play. As is usual for many open-world RPGs, branching dialogue is common. KC:D decided to take the whole concept a step further and make your gameplay decisions count as well. Did you kill someone who the quest giver told you to just knock out? They will let you know, and you will potentially even fail the quest. However, it goes even deeper. If your clothes are torn up or armour damaged from recent fights, people will comment on how horrible you look instead of greeting you. I simply cannot stress enough the fact that because of this approach, the world feels more alive than the majority of AAA titles.

Medieval Batman

The narrative of KC:D is nothing special for the RPG genre. It is a stereotypical revenge story. What sets it apart is the setting. It uses real historical people to drive the story forward as they take a central part in the overall narrative. However, this is highly subjective as the Bohemian history is close to my heart. But even if you are not a historical fanatic, you will be able to enjoy the company of at least some of the characters, being young and free Hans Capon or your guardian, Sir Radzig Kobyla. The main narration is also intertwined with the stories of side-quests. Completing a side-quest before certain story events may unlock new dialogue options or strategies with which to tackle the main quest.

The main story will drive you through several different set pieces, for example a castle siege or a monastery. In those set pieces, it is entirely up to you how you will tackle them. You can just do the main objective and be done with it or you can do all the side stuff around, which could be anything ranging from influencing a new abbott's election to solving an attempt at your life. The same approach applies to individual side quests as well. All of this works nicely in one coherent package that will never feel too repetitive.

The story is not without its flaws. The main issue comes in the later part, where the game dives into a more linear style for the sake of delivering a compelling narration. It is a very weird choice that completely breaks the pacing of the game. You will stealth through an entire section, and even if you do everything perfectly, you get caught in a cutscene. On top of that, the ending is unsatisfactory at best as it was made with a sequel in mind. Sadly, I found it unfulfilling as it does not endorse any kind of conclusive resolution to the events that transpired in the game.

Party like it's 1403

The music nicely compensates the whole medieval atmosphere. All the musical instruments, ranging from violins and flutes to drums, you hear in the soundtrack are authentic or very similar to the setting. It’s never distracting and always helps to set the mood. Random NPCs will sometimes sing typical folk songs. This musical adventure is perfectly accompanied by a visual side which could be used for education purposes. The houses, cities and nature look realistic, and I could say with confidence that this is how it could have looked back in the day. An issue arises when it comes to the actual flora, as the plants can often look almost 2D when closely inspected.

Epilogue

KC:D is one-of-a-kind RPG. It manages to give you enough freedom to create your own adventures. It not only teaches you about history but also delivers an interesting and compelling narrative. More than that, it will keep you engaged as you master the art of combat as well as many other skills, including a realistic take on potion brewing or pickpocketing. It does have a few issues as mentioned in the review, but those are easily outweighed by the positives. If you are interested in this game, do not hesitate and buy it, even at full price.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is one of the best first-person RPGs to date. If you've ever wanted Skyrim but with more depth in the combat and RPG mechanics, this is the game for you.

First thing I tell everyone if they are considering grabbing it for themselves: the prologue is about 1-2 hours long, and it's not a very engaging introduction. However, once you get past the title card the game opens up and you can begin to enjoy the open world.

The game starts you with nothing, because you're a peasant. You're not the chosen one, you're not a skilled warrior. You're a peasant who can't even cut a stick with a sword. You can barely fight. You can't afford anything. You can't even read. Because of this, the game really makes you feel a sense of progression any time you improve your skills. Henry, your character, starts out as a weak, socially awkward, incompetent embarrassment of a man. As you progress however, he eventually becomes a bada*s protagonist you really root for.

Combat is difficult at first but remember, you're a peasant. Henry doesn't know how to fight, so his learning becomes your learning too. If you start out feeling that the combat is clunky, just remember that Henry just picked up a sword for the first time in his life. Would you know sword techniques if you were in his shoes? When Henry does begin to pick up on how to wield a weapon, the fighting is very satisfying. Unlike Skyrim, attacks have real weight to them. When you hit someone, you can tell they felt it.

I could say so much more but this recommendation is already long enough. If you like first-person RPGs, buy this game at any price, it's well worth it.

I feel quite hungry.

Very accurate representation of the time period, in particular, religion's influence. It's not portrayed as a tool of fear, but just a part of life they've had for generations. Not only is the story entertaining so far, but I find the lack of bias one way or the other in terms of the Church particularly appealing.

After 80 hours of gameplay ( 100 hours Steam record) I finished Main story + DLCs and many side quests.
(I finished it only once so I don't know the game perfectly, so take my review with discretion)

Game...is buggy (even 2 years after release), I some times had to restart game or restart missions to fix bug, but it wasn't very often.

STORY is amazing if you go only for main story it will be maybe little bit fast, but storytelling is great, it's interesting from the start to the end. Even side characters have interesting story and missions. For me the Funniest mission was
Mysterious Ways
.

Open world it's very detailed, every house have interior, every village has it's life. NPSs has it's own regime, the wake up, go to work or to tavern and do something and at the night they goes to sleep. You will want to explore all of it and yo, there is many of it to explore.

Somebody may not like the game for its MECHANICS, those are very characteristic for this game and yea...they are hard to control from the start, sword fight or hand to hand combat, you will hate the game from the start, but after you manage to learn and control this mechanics you will enjoy whole game.

REALISM... you need to eat, drink, sleep, you can get drunk you can poison yourself from rotten food. This is great and from the start you will be scary from getting hungry or tired. Realism in fighting, 1v5 fight you have no change to win it, only if you have heavy armor and those five enemies are peasants.
If you want other kind of adventure, this game have lots of challenging achievements.

Overall I love this game and I enjoyed my time playing this game. This game isn't for everybody but I think it's game worth try. This game isn't something we see here every day and I think it's piece of art, but even the art isn't perfect.

My score: 8.5/10

(if you finished reading here, then thanks you for reading my review of the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance)

I was on the fence about this one for a long time, the reviews talk about bugs and how hard the combat is , and my old gamer reflexes put me off.
So far ( 100 + hours ) i had 0 bugs , and the combat is hard when you start the game, it's part of the story, you are a peasant, son of a blacksmith, you have no clue how to fight, makes sense, and later is much better, when you get used to the system and if a old gamer like me can fight 1 vs 4 and win im sure you can to.
You know nothing Henry : At the start Henry cant fight , cant read , cant persuade , cant steal , it's great to see Henry, a below average guy, became your Henry , a Lendary swordsman, a fantastic archer, a master thief .... It's your choice. The game it's really great and in my opinion it's really beautiful, i had no problems with the game so far, i have some little complains and some Minor Annoyances :
- The bushes are made of stone , they will stop your horse at full gallop.
- There are no perks for archery or hand to hand combat.
- For me the textures sometimes take time to load.
- Its hard for me to find the hitbox of the plants.
- The game is very very dark at night and dont have gamma ajustments, i know , realism and blablabla , but i cant see nothing at night and that takes the fun of playing at night.

As you cant see is almost nothing, it's a great game you really can lost track at the time, and Henry really grows on you, if you like RPGs , try this one out, it's a fantastic game, now excuse me , Henry is waiting for me.

Best Medieval Peasant simulator out there....

This game can be tough, janky and slightly buggy. You start out as an incompetent, and sometimes stupid peasant called Henry and before you know it you are winning the Rattay Tourney, visiting the bathhouses and pilfering everything in sight.

Story is most goodly, very very rarely you feel like a passenger in some cut scenes, but at other times its hilariously funny. You can play it in different ways, you can pick your weapon of choice, you can spend hours doing side quests.

The start of the game turns the usual game paradigm on its head. You aren't unstoppable, you are incompetent. You'll need to run away to survive until you build your skills (both your characters, and your own!) Which will often go against every fibre of your gaming being. Persevere and you are rewarded with an excellent game.

Highly recommended.

An absolutely amazing game. Very atmospheric with beautiful Bohemian landscapes, interesting and intelligent story. Stellar voice acting and animations. I really can't say any bad things about it (in its current state I do not think I have found any bugs of note.) This game is as good as it gets, absolutely worth the full price and I thoroughly enjoyed the DLCs as well. Huge kudos to everyone who contributed in making this masterpiece of a game (I watched your video documentary about that journey, it was a bumpy ride!). I hope you will be able to retain your enthusiasm, dedication and motivation for a sequel (or more), because I will surely buy them too. And note, that I gave this exalted review as a (fairly patriotic) Hungarian national about a game where the bad guys and main antagonists are Hungarian... :) (Actually it was quite delightful hearing those Cumans swearing at me in Hungarian :D)

I'll try to give the short version: You are not playing a game, you are living the life of a person in the 1400s.You suck at EVERYTHING to start. And because of that you need to learn and practice to improve. This is an RPG with an emphasis on role playing. This is not about rushing through quests to become a god among men. You are one person carving out your place in this gorgeous, living world. There is absolutely nothing like this game and it is one that every self proclaimed RPG fan should experience.

This is a masterpiece; a true work of art. I love this game and it is definitely one of the best experiences I have had in gaming.

The world is beautiful and lovingly crafted. The atmosphere is excellent. The characters are memorable and the dialogue is fantastic. The main quest is great and the side quests are often even better!

I have been so immersed in this world for around 235 hours of my first playthrough. I love Henry and I think he is one of the best characters I have come across in gaming. I'm going to miss him, at least until I come back to do a hardcore playthrough because I definitely will be coming back to this game again. This game deserves a second playthrough. Next time I will be doing a 'hardcore Henry' run!

If you enjoy history, you like realistic RPGs and/or you want to play a deep game in a beautiful open world then I cannot recommend this game enough. Simply wonderful.

I didn't realize I had been waiting for a history focused adventure RPG, but now all I want is more! Pick any figure or set of figures, any time period, pour passion into it and hopefully it would turn out at least as good as this game. I felt like I understood something extra about the area and culture this was based around. After spending so much time in the world, I can't really trash much. The RPG complexity bugs exist. The scope of the story telling can only go so far for some players. It's about as close to newer GTA + Elder Scrolls set in 15th century Bohemia as you could imagine.

I want to see more of the story, but I'd love to expand more on the ensemble cast for any future games. Some of the characters cemented me in the story (especially when Henry was being a massive douche).

The main point I'd like to make is I bought this as soon as I saw it (I mean, castles!), and kept coming back to it like some of my favorite RPG experiences.

Thank you to the actors, developers, artists, writers, and anyone else involved. I had so much fun coming back to this world every session!

So I hated this game when it first came out, the combat was hard, the AI was strong, you'd get absolutely clowned by 3 cumans in the woods a few dozen times before you ran back to the safety of sir radzig, and wonder why you paid the money for this game.

Then I decided to actually try to finish it, trained, trained some more, competed in tournaments, got really good, then headed for the hills where those damn cumans paid in blood for the many salty tears I shed.

Lets just say, after the first playthrough, once you're loaded to the gills in shmeckles, have the best armor available, and can watch archers shoot arrows into your helmet and bounce off for hours, you decide you want to bump the difficulty up.

This is where the game truly begins. No fast travel, no fancy compasses (i may or may not have relied on the moon to figure out what massive forest i was in) and no autosave, you realize how bad your decision making is when you enabled every negative perk available and bleed out after one or two bad blocks and get put back almost 2 hours prior because you ran out of save potions.

This game gets compared to skyrim but its easily far better, there may not be enough content for you to play for 6 months on end but you can go and pick dandelions in the fields to give to the local bathhouse wenches and truly live out your medieval fantasies.

If you read this far gg, if you just want the TL:DR, buy it. you'll be hooked in the first 5 minutes as long as you practice and learn how to parry(masterblock?) before you go hunting the big scary cumans with their foreskin helmets.

If you like Skyrim but want it to be more realistic, more expansive, have a better story, have better RPG elements, not made by Bethesda?? KCD is an amazing slow paced Medieval Themed RPG where you play as a young blacksmiths boy finding his way in life after his village becomes the latest victim to a kingdom wide political struggle.
Was given this as a gift for my birthday (shout out Muddyn) but would of happily paid full price for it

This game has truly touched my soul in a way i didn't think possible, the characters and their arcs had me intrigued the whole time, the historical accuracy of clothing, architecture and culture had me shocked, i would never think such realism could be fun as they have perfected the mix between the rules of a video game and total realistic accuracy. if you have time and emotionally invest yourself you will definitely enjoy this absolute masterpiece of a game.

Really enjoyed this game, but had to restart 3 times after accidently playing differently to intended and breaking the game. However I played as the game intended the third time but was left with a cutscene bug which replicated itself despite replaying a whole day's worth of game twice. One bug too many sadly and I had to uninstall.

So then...
130h in, with finishing the game 2 times.

THIS GAME IS A GOOD GAME !
but its sure isnt perfect;
this game is heavy, not as much as it was when it launched (my first playthrough was rough). Now that I finished my 2th one after 2 years I can say the devs did an amazing job optimizing and fixing bugs and gliches.

My biggest gripe with the game tho, are the quests.
The are good, but almost all of them boil down to: go there-bring this-go there-bring this... you get the idea.
If the point in the quests format was to make the player feel like they are in the 1400 (as an errand boy), then they naild it.

All in all, its a good game, and if you like actuall RPG games, you got a great one here.

57 Hours into the game and its a complete bug-fest that the developers have yet to resolve years on into the game's lifecycle.
This is a game full of promise and potential but the bugs found in-game are seriously game breaking, with main quests that fail for no reason, NPCs that cannot be found etc.. and leaves you stuck with no means of restarting or going back aside from either restarting the game or loading previous saves (if you were lucky enough to have done so). While online forums have been useful in troubleshooting several of these aforementioned issues, these are problems that should have been rectified by developers before and during release... it is incredibly frustrating, and while the journey was at times fun and filled with promise, the hassle of solving these bug issues often leaves a sour aftertaste.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a historical fiction RPG with no magic. The melee combat system is uber-realistic, difficult to master, but very rewarding when you do. The landscape is the best I've ever seen in an RPG, by that I mean the closest to what you actually see hiking trails in the real world. The forest sounds are very immersive. Your character is more of an average guy that must claw out a living while seeking justice after his very-average-apprentice life is turned upside down by historical events. The game is a little buggy, even clunky at times, but with a good system to back it up plays smoothly the vast majority of the time. The plot is entertaining: no amazing Witcher-esque drama, but a very believable plot of tough men caught up in larger events and trying to protect their corner of Bohemia.

Pros:
-Extremely detailed landscape, vegetation, and textures. Trails have wagon ruts, horse turds, realistic puddles, and mud. Terrain is organic and not angular. I am reasonable sure the game world follows a real-world survey of the modern location in the Czech Republic.
-Tough, gritty, realistic melee. Uses reemerging European martial arts from the period. Weapons include 2H sword, 1H sword, axe, or mace paired w/ shield, polearms, bow+arrow as ranged weapon.
-Realistic horseback riding
-Eating/Rest needs, as well as drinking alcohol skill tree
-Living period towns with well-fleshed NPCs
-TOUGH COMBAT SITUATIONS! You can die at any time if not careful. Outnumbered 4 to 1? You have to be really good at the game to survive
-Reasonably smart AI: enemies reasonably capable of tracking you down; no Skyrim-style shoot, hide, shoot again
-Lots of sympathy for the main character, who is more of an average joe who becomes tough rather than a god-like dragonborn-type
-Protagonistic authority figures realistic and pragmatic leadership. Refreshing change from hollywood/pop-culture stereotypes
-Pretty good wildlife behavior for hunting. Exception, rabbits

Cons:
-Perks could be better, max level reached quickly
-Some quests have bugs that require reloads
-Bow and arrow sighting could be improved. Even with no reticle, aiming down the arrow could be tighter
-Some cliche conversations and plot elements
-Saving system is difficult on purpose. Lots of failures and reloads in the beginning. Teaches you to not rush into things, however.

I have been gaming since the early 80's and KG:D is in my top 5 RPG's of all time. It is a must-try for RPG fans or medieval enthusiasts. Outstanding vision and work by the dev's, we need more projects like this in the gaming community! Give it a try!

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is literally a 1400´s life simulator in Bohemia. KC:D is basically a game that will make you feel useless, you will experience what living in the XV century looked like and why it is not appealing anymore.
Apart from the fact that it can be very dificult for new players, it is a jewel between the singleplayers we can find nowadays. As I usually do, I will split this review in positive and negative points about the game, starting with the worst and ending with the best of the game:

Bad things:
 • It is a “simulator”. I mean, you cannot simulate real life (yet) but, as I said, it is challenging, and it will force you to make your best to improve and most importantly, survive. You should not expect this game to be liked by casual players. Anyway, it has two game dificulty modes at the start of your journey, one easier for new players and an expert mode for those who want to replay it.
 • The game can be confusing. The menus might not be as clear as you would expect because this game is not something you have already played in the past (I am pretty sure), so, at first, you may find a bit dificult to start and learn how the game works, specially lock picking and other stuff like abilities and perks.
 • Bugs. You may find a NPC literally breaking physics rules by walking with buckets while T-posing into Rattay. This title is NOT a triple A game, so you should expect at least one bug in your gamethrough. If your are lucky enough, you will experience a bug like the one I described above, or you might find yourself with a corrupted save in the mid part of the story.
 • Not the best performance. The game looks amazing, but it is dificult to maintain over 75 Fps with a RTX 2060 Super with everything over LOW. You may want to see some in-game benchmarks with your rig before buying the game.

Good things:
 • Historical fidelity. The development of the storyline might not be as realistic as it seems, simply because you start out as the son of a blacksmith and end up being a knight in the service of the nobility. However, this does not mean that Warhorse Studios has made a breathtaking work adding into the game all kind of information related to the XIV century in Europe. There is a codex in-game that allows you to read information of all kind of interesting topics, including the life of some of the characters you can interact with in your gamethrough. It might not seem as important as other things, but it actually shows how dedicated and carefull were the developers of this tittle.
 • How long it takes to beat it. Depending on the player, this point is a positive one or a negative one. The game will last easely 50 hours, if you just make some of the secondary quests and the main quests. It has tons of content available, I ensure you that if you buy it and you actually like the game, you will make your best to complete it as much as you can before it ends.
 • Mods. There are a reasonable amount of mods that can enhance your in-game experience. Most of these mods are made in order to make the game easier, some of them are made to make it harder. You can either choose being a p*ssy peasant or to be a chad nobleman.
 • Combat. This game stands out not only for its setting and complexity, but also for the combat system. It is hard enough to force you to practice it and feel that you actually learned something when you are in a fight. Spamming the left click will not help you this time.
 • Abilities. *Improve your ability to lockpicking when you are drunk*
 • * Go to the city at night. * Go to the tabern and drink enough to be drunk as f*ck. * Repeatedly fall to the ground during your mission. * Obtain more than 4K Groschen in stolen items. * *Profit*
 • Great story. Knowing how bad are singleplayers nowadays (with exceptions), this game has a decent storyline, with great characters and a very successful environment, realistic as it does not show a great treatment to women and there are no black people. It is realistic (as it should).
 • Different playstyles. Depending on what abilities you improve, you can play in a different way for the same situation. You can try to sneak to a camp killing all the cumans with a dagger while they are all sleeping, or you can choose to follow your berserk instinct and kill them all with an axe and a shield while you are half naked. I mean, it is up to you and your playstyle.
 • Different activities to do: hunt, play dice, help peasants with its problems, etc... These activities were made to fill the game with content, so you can entertain yourself without completing all the main and side quests.
 • Replayability. You can develop your storyline in different ways (sadly, it starts and ends at the same point). On the other hand, side quests have a greater optionality, so you can do them in different ways.
 • The dialogue system. The dialogue system is more complex that what you might think. Not only it depends in your dialogue hability, your status and charisma, your popularity, your strenght and even your culture and intelligence, but also in who you are talking with. It is not the same talking to a nobleman, a captain or a king as talking to a commoner or a peasant.

In conclusion, this game has a lot to offer and, avoiding some bugs and problems, it will be a great experience. It will demand time, patience and experience from you. Maybe you also want to swear on the entire family tree of the developer who decided that it was a great idea to only save the game drinking an alcoholic concoction. It is soo good that i bought it after I spent 40 hours playing it in Epic Games for free, I wanted to suport the developers and its work, (not gonna lie, I also wanted to stop using Epic Games).
In less words, I think this is enough to convince you to at least think about it. This studio deserves much more the money they want than other AAA studios and franchises. I am very grateful that you have read the entire review and that, at least, I managed to get you a smile. Hope you have a great day.

Zitat:
Sir Radzig Kobyla:
I'm no theologian, but long ago I came to the conclusion that the only thing that makes sense is that it's all a trial. Life is one long series of problems to solve. The more you solve, the better a man you become.... Tribulations spawn in life and over and over again we must stand our ground and face them.

This is a brilliant first person RPG set in the medieval period, very realistic (you need to eat, drink, sleep or wash, for example) and with a good and violent story set in an historical context like Bohemia in XV century.

For me, the best thing of the game is, without a doubt, the atmosphere, this open world is incredibly immersive. The graphics are pretty good too, and the story is solid and engaging (especially if you like medieval history).

Things to be improved: the combat (and the combos) are tough and inaccurate at times, still has some bugs (thankfully, much less than when the game came out), and the optimization could be better.

In short, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a very good role-playing experience, rough at times, but generally quite satisfactory. If you like realistic RPG or medievals, is perfect for you.
