Lost Planet: Extreme Condition Colonies Edition includes everything that made the original Lost Planet a hit on PC, as well as adding the following new features:

New modes for single-player campaign
Score Attack - Each enemy and destructible object has points assigned to them, with the player being awarded different points depending on how they defeat the enemy.
Trial Battle Mode - Take on each of the game's Bosses, one after another
Off limit Mode - Go wild with over-the-top super-charged weapons with unlimited ammunition and increased speed of movement
New online modes
Akrid Hunter ? Get the chance to finally play as an Akrid as your opponents attempt to take you down
VS Annihilator ? Each team attempts to destroy its opponent's VS while defending its own
Counter Grab ? The team with the longest data posts activation time wins
Point Snatcher ? Take down opponents and collect the most thermal energy points
Akrid Egg Battle ? Steal Akrid eggs from the opponent?s team and bring them safely back to your own base
Egg Bandit ? steal your opponents' Akrid egg, with points awarded for longer capture time
4 new maps for online matches: Crossfire City, Area 921, Lost Arena, Assault Space
5 new playable character models
Multiple new weapons for both snow pirates and the robotic VS suits
Cross-platform Battles ? Xbox 360 owners can join forces or play against PC gamers
New perspectives - Switch to first person view or the over-the-shoulder view for even more intense action

Ganz ok, das ende ist allerdings viel zu käsig für meinen Geschmack. Würde nicht mehr als 3€ dafür bezahlen.

Bis heute ein geniales Game, welches mit einer tollen Umgebung, einen knackigen Schwierigkeitsgrad punktet und einer tollen Soundkulisse. Fans von Mechs sollten auf jeden Fall zuschlagen.

Wichtige Info - Da LP ein 'Game for Windows' war, muss man sich zuvor den 'GFW' Client runterladen, um das Spiel zu starten.

Ich selber wüsste nicht warum ich dieses Spiel empfehlen sollte außer einer Sache: Die Geschichte wird zum Ende hin immer und immer und immer und immer besser,

Das Gameplay basiert auf dem Konzept das ihr auf einem Eis Planeten lebt und euer Anzug Wärme von getöteten Gegnern absorbieren kann. Diese Energie wird langsam aufgebraucht, das heißt ihr müsst immer wieder Gegner töten um Energie zu bekommen. Das Kampfsystem ist ganz okay und wird interessanter wenn ihr eure Mechs nutzen dürft.

Kann man sich mal antun, aber ihr solltet euch ein wenig durchbeißen müssen bis die Geschichte wirklich geil wird ;)

Fun game that is plagued by launch issues.

If you're up for a solid single player experience, get the game. But be prepared for game for windows live workaround as all the bad reviews amount to it not launching from this

Great game! Loads of fun!

Helpful Tip!
Games for windows live that it comes with causes a crash issue upon launching for win 10.

To fix this simply uninstall GFWL the game auto installs then download and install wllogin_64.msi then install latest gfwlivesetup.exe. You will need the .msi file to install missing required files missing with win 10 to work correctly to allow game to launch properly.

After launching the game and updateing all that is left if you happen to have multiple monitors and end up with a memory error crash while playing simply try turning off extra monitors and relaunch game. For some reason I have yet to figure out game does not like multiple monitors. After everything hopefully you as well can enjoy this game and its sequels.

Under no circumstances should a game I bought on steam require me to FIND MULTIPLE WORKAROUNDS for the darn Windows Games for Live disaster that will block you from playing this game. By the time I got it running, I lost interest in playing anymore.

Fun game, but unplayable unless you like installing ancient software and doing workaround for 4 hours prior to playing.

Still a fun little Capcom janky console game.
The entire game (including the single-player campaign, and even the resolution settings) requires you to install, run, and log into GFWL.
This DLL hack worked for me (drop xlive.dll and xlive.ini into C:\PROGRA~2\Steam\steamapps\common\Lost Planet Colonies\): https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Bulletstorm#Play_without_Games_for_Windows_-_LIVE

(AFAICT) the single-player content is identical to Colonies Edition, so buy that instead (hence downvote). THAT version doesn't require GFWL or DLL hacks to play the single-player campaign.

Grab this Capcom gem on sale and buckle in for grappling hooks, giant monsters and mech action in short lived, silly-cause-its-serious package

Be prepared for old Windows Live Screens, after that your golden.

could have been much more. start of a franchise that died as generic as possible. generic third person combat. mechs are interesting but horribly implemented. need for thermal energy for heating is nice, but they nerfed it probably just so casuals wouldnt stop the game.

pros:
-cold ambiance
-mechs
-monsters are nice but limited and generic

cons:
-human enemy implementation is awful and boring to fight
-thermal energy implementation is very lackluster

its cute. give it a try if you want a glimpse of a apocalyptic mech game. just dont bother playing too much because its super repetitive

GfWL isn't dead, it's not nearly as hard as people say it is to get it working. It's a very fun game, and it's on sale frequently. Buy on sale - it's worth it!

I played this over and over as a child, around 600hrs on xbox, explored everything there is to explore, bought every lost planet game except lost planet 3(blasphemy game) on xbox and again on pc. The story is cool and wholesome. It's not to everyone's taste, but if you're bored and it's on sale. Give it a shot.

Lost planet extreme condition, its colonies edition, and lost planet two are all fantastic games however the current windows live setting to play the game makes it a pain in the ass to play. It also makes it very difficult to get it working. Which makes the game not worth the time to install. Thanks windows live.

It's a descent game and can be a lot of fun in many places. Unfortunately I must give a thumbs down due to its myriad of issues. First and foremost is Games For Windows Live, no explanation is needed on how bad that is as everyone knows how bad GFWL is. The second is the optimization, the game has trouble running DX10 well; and can't run on PCs with high CPU core counts. Anything over 4 cores and you will start coming across issues like crashing, black screen or lock ups. Unless you want to go through the hurdle of dealing with these issues and disabling cores in your BIOS, I would highly recommend you give this game a pass or play it on console and deal with the low framerate and resolution.

This game is amazing, if you ignore the part where it doesn't work without GWL installed then you're gonna love it.

imagine dead space but instead of zombies you fight aliens, and you get to drive a huge variety of mechas with costumizable weapons, some are small and let you jump, some transform into bikes, others are tanks with forward drills and energy machine guns. Although i'd like a sprint feature since if your mecha breaks you'll be walking a lot, until you find another or you get stomped on.

Metal gear meets dead space on a frozen planet basically.

Lost Planet is a weird game that has many objective and subjective flaws, I can only recommend it when played on the hardest difficulty but the crazy explosive experience and old school increasingly harder mission progression is great and for a low price on sale, this game is a fantastic experience youll look back on fondly.

What is Lost Planet about?

Lost Planet series happens on the freezing planet E.D.N III, which is covered in the snow but contains a huge amount of available thermal energy. Tempted by the giant potential of thermal energy, human started to colonize the planet, led by the huge and ambitious organization NEVEC, only to find hordes of deadly alien insect Akrid inhabit on the planet, who use thermal energy to powered themselves and form a bizarre ecological system.

This is the setting, the rest is Starship Troopers x Pacific Rim x Gundam.

If you have watched those, you will know what you will have in the game. Human versus alien insects, giant robots fighting giant Kaijus (monster), giant robots fighting each other. But just don’t give very high expectations to it since it is old.

The game is a simple and pure shooter and it is what is highly praised. You shoot with your guns or ride a VS (robot) using its big guns. Types of guns are limited but there are many types of robots, some of which can transform and makes the game more fun. Fighting huge Kaiju is visually stunning, while other things such as story and graphics are just mediocre. But if you like TPS or games like War of Gears, you definitely should not miss it.

Used to love this game on the ol' xbox, bought it in the sale, Bloody Gaming for Live Windows (grrrrr), than no matter what it crashes and I gotta CTRL + ALT + DELETE my way out. Defitely not my rig (it runs crysis on ultra).

Tried the GFWL reinstall, crashed.
Tried the DX10 trick, crashed still,
now investigating ways to get my money back.
Its a little amount but its the principle.

Great game but doesn't work. Shame its far more people than me judging by the forums on here.
