Skydrift ist eine Art Flugzeugrennspiel, welches sich weniger um realistsiche Flugsimulation kümmert als um schnelle und spannende Kämpfe in Bodennähe. Ähnlich wie beim Nintendo-Klassiker Mario Kart können die Spieler Power-Ups aufsammeln, um besondere Boni freizuschalten. Darunter fallen Geschwindigkeits-Boots und Waffen, um Konkurrenten abzuschießen.

Skydrift kommt mit acht Flugzeugen in unterschiedlicher Lakierung und sechs Power-Ups daher. Zudem soll es 33 Renn-Events geben. Das als Download-Titel angekündigte Spiel wird einen Einzel - sowie einen Mehrspieler Modus bieten und für PC, Xbox Live Arcade und Playstation Network erscheinen.

Erst dachte ich mir Schnitzel, Pommes, olympisches Gold. Aber bei gelockten 30 FPS frag ich ob ihr mich verarschen wollt.

This game is hella fun in multiplay together with some lads, but unfortunately there is no one playing the game in public anymore.
But if you can gather some friends you can have a lot of fun for quite some time!
Try it out.

Echt super Rennspiel und schon wie so oft erwähnt, wie Mario Kart nur mit Flugzeugen und die Grafik ist echt gelungen.

Macht mega Spaß.

Eine gelungene Flug/Renn/Kampfsimulation. Das Flugzeugspiel mit verschiedenen Waffen und Verteidigungssystemen lockt zum öfteren Spielen. Das arcadelastige Spiel ist grafisch ganz okay und auch die Steuerung kann gefallen. Ein schnelles und kurzweiliges Spiel mit vielen verschiedenen Strecken.

Flug Mario Kart.
Hatte nicht das Gefühl schlecht geflogen zu sein und hatte trotzdem keine Chance gegen den Ersten.
Die Steuerung ((360) Controller funktioniert gut, wird aber in der UI nicht berücksichtigt (sic!)) ist imho zu träge um bei einem Fun Racer Spaß zu machen.

Ein wunderschönes Rennspiel, wo man mal Flieger benutzt, anstatt Autos, also mal was neues. Was ich leider etwas schade finde ist, dass im Multiplayer keiner online ist, sodass Multiplayer nur mit Freunden möglich ist. Aber alles in allem ist es ein schönes Spiel für zwischendurch mit schönen Fliegern mit unterschiedlichen Skins und schönen Strecken. Auch da hätte es mehr davon geben können. Trotzdem kann ich es für diesen Preis nur empfehlen.

The game is ok.

It's mario kart with place. Good fun. Be aware, due to the game being old, there is no multiplayer. No one play the game.

Not much plane in base game (5 or 6) and the base one are better than the one you unlock later.

Run perfectly fine on Steamdeck

Got this on a whim for a dollar at 90% off during the Winter Sale, totally worth it. Like everyone else has said, it's like Mario Cart with planes (racing with power-ups) to put it simply but maybe that description doesn't do it justice. Gameplay is fun, the controls seemed good, graphics are nice, I recommend it.

What is SkyDrift ?

If you wanted to play a mario kart game but with planes then this one is a nice pick, surprisingly enough for a fast racing game the controls here are good with the ammount of stunts you can pull during a race it makes the gameplay engaging and challenging, its a pretty simple game overall but very fun considering how cheap it is and if youre looking for a racing game with more action and one where you drive a plane then I see no reason to not recommend this one.

I am a sucker for arcade racing games and it blows my mind how Mario Kart is almost universally loved and praised by all gamers, but at the same time no one ever plays SkyDrift. SkyDrift is basically Mario Kart with planes, in other words, Mario Kart meets F-Zero meets Crimson Skies. It is the perfect pick-up and play game. It looks awesome, it will give you an adrenaline rush and it is just plain fun. There are several game modes, which are all great but Survival (where every once in a while, the plane in the last position is eliminated) was my favorite. By completing campaign missions, you unlock new levels and planes. Although many levels are derivatives of other levels, they are so well designed it never gets repetitive.

The main problem with SkyDrift is that its main attraction should be multiplayer, but no one ever plays it. This is not a nearly dead situation. SkyDrift multiplayer is really dead. But it is still worth buying for the single player campaign alone and it takes around 4-5 hours to go through all the levels.

I wish SkyDrift was free-to-play with paid DLC skins. It’s just so good that it’s a pity SkyDrift it buried deep inside the Steam catalogue for some lucky gamers to discover.

This game is lots of fun! Please put it on sale more or some how encourage people to play it. I purchased it on a super sale and have totally enjoyed this game more than others.

Hi-rez 3D airplane racing game. Fly planes in time trials along twisty aerial courses. Use powerups to hamper and even destroy the competition. Unlock new planes with victories and experience.

Carmageddon in the air...Airmageddon? You're flying a small plane through an obstacle course made up of natural features or buildings. You can pick up powerups for things including machine guns, missile launchers and mines (no idea how they hang in the air), as well as speed boosts, shielding and repairs. You can be shot down, or destroyed by a mine, or slam into a rock wall, but you respawn almost immediately; dying may cost you time, but doesn't boot you from the race. Being the sole survivor is one way to be the fastest.

As much as I like to insist that every game should have a means of playing with a keyboard and/or mouse, I suspect this game is much easier with a controller. The key controls were responsive, and perhaps I could have come to use them smoothly and effectively, but for the tight turns involved in this game it's probably easier to pour reflex into a single joystick than into four arrow keys.

On that basis, even though I haven't played it with a controller, I'm going to recommend it with the caveat that you should try it with a controller. The scenery is gorgeous, the physics are well-tuned and the unlockable plane selection looks promising. I got the game bundled with Tropico 3; at this writing the game by itself is on sale for $1.99, which I consider a very affordable experiment.

If anybody hears about a game like this one the people actually still play, leave a comment. This is Mario Kart with airplanes and I loved it, but it's outta date now and I can't find anything else like it.

I can not recommend this game to anyone who has a new/modern hardware and runs windows 10. The issue in my case is that the game starts and after loading is crashes. I temporarily fixed the issue by changing the monitor resolution from 1920x1080 to 1024x768, at his lower resolution the games starts but if I change the resolution of the monitor back to native resolution (1920x1080) the game crashes again. Tried to run the game as administrator or in compatibility mode and it did not work. Tried also to install direct x and visual C++ from the game folder but the installers stopped before installing due to newer versions present on the system. Unless the issue is resolved I can't recommend the game.

This is a fun game. It's like Hydro Thunder, but with planes! I wish there were more levels and a bit more polish but if you see this on sale and like games of nature, BUY IT! :3

This game is very fun and has lots of challenges for new and experienced players. There are lots of different planes you can use, all with unique stats that make them better than all the rest in that way. The only problem I have with it is that whenever i go on to multiplayer, nobody appears for me to race. I don't know if that is just because no one wants to race at that time, or if I have some random setting that is preventing it.

Overall, this game is really fun and would totally recommend it!

Game is locked at 30 FPS. I tried Googling for a workfound but didn't find one. Other than that, the game is good but 30 FPS is a deal breaker for me.

In a word: mediocre. I was bored of it long before the campaign ended - the AI seems to have unfair advantages over you too, so it isn't an easy sit. It feels much inferior to Sonic and SEGA All-stars Transformed which I was playing previously, which also includes airplane racing.

Shockingly good.

If Indiana Jones made an arcade Air racer, this would be it.

Exhilarating, and non stop fun.

I got it on deep discount, but would have been stoked at full price.

Playing with a controller, and it seems like the game was designed with that in mind, controls are intuitive.

Kept me on the edge of my seat, and up waay too late.
