Surgeon Simulator 2013 ist eine abgedrehte Simulation voll schwarzem Humor. Der Spieler schlüpft in die Haut von Nigel Burke, einem Möchtegern-Chirurgen, der das Leben seiner Patienten in seine zitternden Hände nimmt und an seinen duldsamen Opfern lebensrettende Operationen durchführt.

Beim Original-Prototyp - während dem Global Game Jam im Januar 2013 in gerade einmal 48 Stunden entwickelt - wurden die Spieler vor die Aufgabe gestellt, per Tastatur und Maus eine Herztransplantation vorzunehmen, und das lediglich mit einem Arsenal an klobigen, völlig unzweckmäßigen Werkzeugen als Ausrüstung und einer Hand, die teuflisch schwierig zu steuern war.

Die volle Steam-Version bietet jetzt zusätzliche Funktionen, Operationen und Umgebungen. Surgeon Simulator 2013 hebt die Kunst des Operierens jetzt auf eine ganz neue Stufe, von furchteinflößenden Transplantationen im Operationssaal bis hin zu chirurgischen Eingriffen in einem Krankenwagen.

Schlechtestes Game das ich seit langem gespielt habe. So eine bescheuerte Steuerung, dass der Spielspaß nach 15 Minuten verloren geht, für VR mag es ok sein, aber nicht für Tastatur und Maus. Kein vernünftiges Tutorial. Man weiß nicht, was man machen soll oder wie man eine OP abschließt wenn man meint fertig zu sein. Dazu lässt sich das Gamefenster nicht größer einstellen. Es füllt nicht mal die Hälfte meines Bildschirms. Absolute Katastrophe. Verstehe nicht, was daran so schwer ist, ein vernünftiges Ärzte Game zu programmieren! Absolutes BLOß NICHT KAUFEN

Absolut lustiges Partyspiel. :D Man hat so viel zu lachen, es ist teilweise so absurd und bescheuert aber genau das ist es, was das Spiel so toll und interessant macht. Geile Idee!

Hab das Spiel zu Surgeon Simulator 2 kostenlos dazu bekommen.
Die Steuerung ist wirklich kompletter Müll und mach das Spiel unspielbar.
Schade eigentlich. Auch wenn es für mich quasi nichts gekostet hat, muss ich das Spiel
negativ bewerten, da es den Speicherplatz, den es belegt, nicht wert ist!

I've seen people play this back when it was first popular. I bought the game a couple years after but never had the gaming rig to play this game without super lag. Now that I have a decent computer that can play this game pretty well I can now share my thoughts on this.

The game isn't worth buying. If you get a free copy that is fine. Now what makes this game not so great isn't the weird controls or the levels (my favorite one are the levels with the hallway. My favorite ones. What I hate is that the game still has bugs and glitches that at first make the game a little comedic, but the fact that you HAVE to beat 1 level to unlock the next one (and that's just for that general themed area; you have to complete all 5 missions to unlock the next area) it becomes a pain in the ass. It's been over 9 years now and the devs still haven't patched this game to fix those bugs.

With all that said, play this game if you got it as a gift or if you find it free on GoG, Humble Bundle, Epic Game Store, etc. But DO NOT buy this game. Those glitches alone prevent me from recommending this game to buy it and have fun with their purchase.

I once walked home and saw a blind guy do a 720 off of the roof of a 2 storey building and break a collar bone. Applying my skills from this game, I opened his skull with my shoe and dug around until I found his liver and found that he was OD'ing on alcohol.

He didn't make it.

This game taught me how to commit surgery, and i printed off a fake medical degree from Harvard. I have been manifesting as a doctor or over 1 month and nobody suspects a thing, many have died but i just pretend i couldn't save them. I'm thinking of telling the other staff at the hospital i work at but i believe i have developed a second personality and am now a QUALIFIED doctor, this may have gotten out of hand.

The Dark Souls manifestation of surgery.

Gameplay is fun if you have an idea of what you're doing, and hilarious if you've got no clue.
The controls are brutally challenging.
Good replay value.

It is time to embrace and revel in the auspicious news that has encroached upon my ear. I would like to initially state that although I possess an extensive knowledge in alchemy, treatment remedies and genuine psychiatry my comprehension on surgical procedures is wholly lacking. As a result to further acquire an increased variety of skills, I have decided to enlist myself as an alleged trained surgical practitioner, who is capable of operating in genuine, high risk surgeries on a daily basis. I must say, initially I was apprehensive regarding my role in deciding the patients mortality, however, after numerous surgeries, altering the genetical components of a human to that of an animals, replacing a functioning liver with a live goose and procuring the embodiment of a dingo out of accumulated limbs, I have developed earnest and professional skills in the art of surgical procedures, particularly regarding the heart. Initially, whilst commencing my very first surgery, I recall acting in a volatile, anxiety inducing manner, resulting in my surgery attempt causing the patient to lose several ribs, have his eyeballs replaced with a felines and a genetical implant of whiskers, for inexplicable reasons. It is credible to utter that although my original attempts at upholding legal and ethical medical practices in surgery were a failure, I have since acquired greater knowledge and have advanced in surgical expertise, enabling my person to become completely wholly professional in the art of medical science. After extensive trial and error, I am now capable of causing a patients bloodstream to become sentient and able to converse, allowing my operation to be filled abuzz with converse and jubilant chatter. Furthermore, I have discovered the ability to utilize the bloodstream to act autonomously in the frequent event that the patient’s heart is extracted and replaced with that of a foreign object. Why, recently, upon operating on a dear colleague, I recall losing control of my watch, which to my perception became irreversibly lodged into the patients chest region. This watch, after a combination of my own competence, the autonomy of the bloodstream having the ability to self recuperate the patient and fate itself, allowed the watch to substantial replacement for the users genuine heart. I am proud to state that my reviews are exceptional, alongside a unanimous success rate, albeit one that closely aligned with a high mortality rate, however, that is insignificant as success is a subjective view, indicating that any procedure I engage myself in is inherently beneficial, as not only does it provide lucrative intel on human anatomy, but it additionally allows the patient to recline on his seat and enjoy the operation. I would also like to state that ever since my arrival to the medical ward, the ambience has increased considerably, with various workers now entering the medical clinic with a rejuvenated and jovial attitude. Overall, without my imperative assistance as a surgeon, I fear that the hospital would he ushered into great peril, with an immense calamity looming over this prestigious medical ward. I wish to officially state that I have not acquired my position due to nepotism, but instead due to my own merit and personal achievements in the medical field. Fortunately, as a result of my altruism, likely propelled forth by the Christmas cheer, I am offering free surgical operations as a remedy to all aliments and have deigned to embrace this specific medical field, dedicating my studies to the work of surgery and human anatomy. This game is soooo much fun even for people who don't play games. I let my friends come over and have a go. It is so funny even when playing alone. The clues to complete the procedures with a top ranking are there and actually aren't too difficult after a few goes. The game is silly fun and has me and my friends in stitches.

They didn't release the sequel on Steam... BOOOOO!

They sold out rather than consider their customer's best interests.

This game is very fun you just need to increase your patience especially with the controls because it will take time for you to get used to it although this game has a lot of gore in it, it is hilarious and educational.

Honestly this is a great game I've spent years stabbing patients.
One time I took out this guys eyes and didn't even put them back (He got kachowed).
If you want to have a fun time stabbing and killing innocent people buy this game.
Unless your scared of poo poo church mouse nesting in your butt.

Surgeon Simulator is a gory good time. The controls are frustrating when you are actually trying to complete missions, but it is part of the fun. The silly tools they give you to use allow great replay ability. Try using a hammer or a saw when you should use a scaple or drill. Streaming this game was a blast. viewers killed my guy over and over in gruesome and creative ways on the internet could provide. slapping my un unconscious patent had all of laughing out loud.

A humorous physics-based simulator that's a little hard to control, which leads to wonderful shenanigans.

That suggests the entire point of the game is to fuck around and have fun, but the achievements suggest that mastery is reasonably attainable to pursue and attempt. It's *not* fun to actually *try* to beat each level with an A++ when the glitchy physics sends your tools flying around causing bleeding, or when the RNG of tools and tables in the corridors levels refuses to give you the transplanted organ for 40 whole seconds during an achievement attempt that says to do the operation in 1:30. You also have to beat each level to unlock the next, and while that can be done with any grade, it still implies that the game is trying to take itself seriously, which makes the physics frustrating.

Go ahead and play this if you just wanna have fun and be silly. I wouldn't recommend it if your goal is to actually get to the end or get all the achievements.

Surgeon simulator is a funny surgery simulator. You could do normal procedures but also play as medic from TF2, do surgery on an alien or even operate Donald Trump!
WARNING: Blood & Gore! Trippy when you accidentally inject yourself!

Gameplay

It’s a single player game. The objective is simple, you have some procedures to pick from and you try to do them. In the first procedure you have to replace a patient's heart. Sounds easy enough, right? Well, it isn’t. Moving the hand with your mouse, trying to pick up the items with your fingers MANUALLY can be very frustrating. Especially if you drop something important!
You use the mouse to move the surgeons hand, press left mouse button to lower it and use A, W, E, R, space to grab/do different gestures with your fingers. You can see instructions of the controls on a computer screen left side of your desk.
I find the controls to be comfortable however you can change them over in the settings tab. You find them on the left side of the game menu where you have the procedures. You can also change your sensitivity there too!

Graphics

The games 3d models are simplistic so you can see what it is. It’s not overly detailed (which helps you keep focus). The game also has a nice colour palette that isn’t straining. Even the transition to the red strain you see when you get hurt is well made. The only thing that can be annoying is when you accidentally inject yourself- However it was kind of my fault so I decided to just deal with it. Besides, you can always restart the procedure!
Obviously this game has blood & organs. It would be impossible to make a surgery game without any of it.

The only issue I could find is if you cannot differentiate green and red. This game will not be an easy task- However, those are the characteristic colours of surgery (There’s actually a medical reason for this) so the devs can’t really do anything.

There’s not a lot of animation considering few things actually move (which again, it’s good or else the graphics would’ve been distracting). The animations are smooth and nice.
The games physics fits since the objects kind of “fly” away. You can just see the heart fly off the table because you accidentally hit it.

The game isn’t heavy! You could run on a potato if you put it on low, honestly. My computer handles it fine even if it’s known for being a potato on fire!

Sound/Music

The music is based on the beat of the heart rate monitor, which fits the game perfectly. It gives a suspense feeling. the feeling of WORK FASTER OR HE’LL DIE! Despite this, it doesn’t distract me. The suspense feeling honestly makes me more motivated to work faster!
Note for audio impaired, deaf & deafened: The good thing about this game is that deaf people can play it too. There’s no need to put subtitles for them since what you see is what you get.

Others:

The card designs are well drawn and share the games humor. They have a clean look and a nice aesthetic.
The badges are very very nice! I love every single one of the designs and honestly, first level of the badge looks amazing! The last level is a clear reference to TF2.
The foil badge is the level 5 badge but with 2 golden saws crossing each other!
The emoticons you get are mainly organs (A brain, heart & guts), also has a head, a sack of blood and some tools.
I like the backgrounds, they clearly put effort on them and I guess you could make a profile with them. My absolute favourite background is “The tools of the trade”. The least interesting one is “Missing organs” imo.

The achievements are really funny and a good challenge! They reference things you can do in the game with some good humor. They also have an appealing style! I would definitely go for these achievements.

Overall

In short, the game is well made for what it is! It works fairly well on most computers and the graphics are good for what it is! I don’t really have any complaints about the game. I find the difficult controls fair and fitting for what it is. The physics fit with the difficulty. I just find it all to mesh well together overall! I don’t really have any complaints.
Honestly, the game is really worth replaying. You can always improve and try to get all the achievements!
If you like a challenge, surgery and frustrating fun then it’s definitely for you!
