Danach hat das Spiel die Stromabnehmer nicht mehr aktiviert, egal was ich gemacht habe, sogar wenn ich das Tutorial 1 zu 1 befolgt habe. Wollte dieses Spiel mögen aber in diesem Zustand musste ich leider refunden.

TSW bietet wirklich viel Realismus und ausreichende Bedienungsmöglichkeiten im Zug für ein realitätsnahes Erlebnis.
Nun zu dem Grund meiner negativen Bewertung.
- Wenig bis kaum Möglichkeiten um dauerhaft Spielspaß zu haben. (z.b. wäre ein Ansatzpunkt wie bei ETS2 verschieden Frachten zu Transportieren und diese selber anzukoppeln etc.)
- Fokus liegt nur aufs Fahren (versteht mich nicht falsch aber es sollte doch Entlohnungsmöglichkeiten geben, bzw Achievements [in Form von Lackierungen etc] damit man auch dauerhaft ein Ziel hat)
-Für den Normalnutzer nicht geeignet
-Wenig deutsche Strecken
-Strecken sind nicht verflochten (Größere Maps)

Die Trainingsmissionen sind manchmal echt zäh und kompliziert, weil man viele verschiedene, gleich aussehende Knöpfe in genauer Reihenfolge drücken soll oder die ganze Lok ist Schrott
Die Streckenmissionen wo man an Bahnhof A startet und nach Bahnhof B fahren muss ist anfangs zwar auch sehr spaßig, aber bei den meisten dieser Missionen MUSS man IMMER Vollgas geben und muss punktgenau bremsen, weil man sonst sofort eine Verspätung hat und diese auch kaum wieder einholen kann.
Aber was mich persönlich am meisten enttäuscht hat, ist das es keine Dampfloks gibt, sondern nur normale mit Strom und ein paar wenige Dieselloks.
Auch unterscheiden sich JEDE Lok von den anderen. Jede hat einen komplett anderen Aufbau und Steuerung, was eigentlich eine gute Sache ist, aber so muss ich immer vorher die Trainingsmissionen mit der jeweiligen Lok machen, also fällt spontanes Spielen weg

A lot of soundbugs that are just annoying but also enough bugs in gameplay that makes the game really exhausting and frustrating.
For example you've just played a scenario for over one and a half hour and you just want to finish it but in the end you can't get in the trian again to stop the engine and end the scenario properly. So now the scenario will not be saved as a finished one because you have to just exit it instead of finish it in the way the game tells you.

Doch Train Sim World ist.......Perfekt!
Als Lokführer wird es im vergleich zum Train Simulator einiges Realistischer, Du bist nämlich ein Mensch der durch jeden wirklich wunderschönen detaillierten Bahnhof laufen kann und 90-95% der Steuerelemente sowie knöpfe in einem Führerstand wirklich bedienen.
Das Fahr Erlebnis ist ein saftiges Stück grösser und realistischer!
Ich empfehle es jedem Eisenbahn interessierten.
Und wie immer bei Zug Simulationen solltet ihr nur das Kaufen von den Zusatzpaketen (DLC) die Ihr wirklich wollt!
Das einzige das ich schade finde ist das kein (oder noch kein) DLC für eine Schweizer Strecke gekommen ist.
Im Train Simulator gibt es so viele RhB DLC`s warum bei diesem Nicht? SAUEREI!

Suchtgefahr vorprogrammiert!
Ich bin von TSW begeisterter, als ich es für möglich gehalten hätte. Zwar gibt es momentan noch weitaus weniger Strecken und Rollmaterialals im TS (was angesichts der kranken DLC-Politik von TS allerdings auch kein Wunder ist), jedoch ist TSW dank der neuen Engine im Vergleich grafisch und leistungstechnisch fast schon gar nicht mehr mit seinem Vorgänger zu vergleichen - es sieht einfach alles unbeschreiblich schöner aus und ist auch um Welten flüssiger spielbar. Außerdem sind neben diversen anderen Strecken immerhin schon vier deutsche erhältlich, Tendenz sicherlich steigend. Schön ist auch die Möglichkeit, durch die Fahrpläne Unmengen an Aufträgen annehmen zu können, was viel strukturierter und realistischer als in TS ist und die mögliche Spieldauer erheblich maximiert. Auch, dass man neuerdings pseudo-open-World-mäßig in (akustisch wie visuell sehr authentischen und gelungenen) Loks, Wägen und der mit vielen ansprechenderen Details ausgestatteten Spielwelt (sprich in Bahnhöfen und auf Rangierfeldern) umhergehen kann, wirkt sich sehr positiv aus und steigert hier abermals den Realismusgrad im Blick auf den TS. Dank der hilfreichen Tutorials (ganz im Gegensatz zum Train Simulator, wenngleich sie in TSW manchmal auch etwas ausgedehnt sein mögen) weiß man bis auf ein paar Sonderfälle wie Zwangsbremsungen durch PZB und ähnliches, auch wenn man kein nebenberuflicher Lokführer ist, eigentlich immer, was wie und wo zu tun ist und wie man den Zug zum Fahren bekommt.
Wenn noch mehr Material dazu kommt (dabei am besten immer auf den nächsten Sale warten, der ja sowieso gefühlt alle zwei Tage kommt, oder Keystores bemühen, denn 30 Euro für eine Strecke finde ich persönlich, wie schon beim TS, immer noch zu happig) - und davon darf man ausgehen, wir kennen ja DTG :) - und vereinzelte kleine Unstimmigkeiten vor allem menüspezifischer Natur oder in dem Sinne, dass Zugzielanzeigen im Allgemeinen und elektronische Fahrpläne in den betreffenden Loks im Jahr 2020 eigentlich schon drin sein müssten, noch behoben werden, ist das Spiel für die Zukunft gerüstet und wird den ehrwürdigen Train Simulator demnächst vollwertig ablösen. Spaß macht TSW allemal sehr (wider Erwarten selbst auf meinem betagten Laptop für unterwegs) und die Spielatmosphäre samt Bild und Ton ist einfach zum Anbeißen gut geworden. Ich bin gespannt, was noch kommt und empfehle das Spiel weiter.

Eigentlich hat mir TSW immer ziemlichen Spaß gemacht, unter anderem weil die Züge sehr ruhig auf den Gleisen fuhren und nicht so unrealistisch herum wacken wie im TS. Aber jetzt habt ihr ja den selben Quatsch in TSW eingefügt!
Ich fahre selber viel Zug und werde dieses Jahr auch eine Ausbildung als TF anfangen und ich weiß, dass es hin und wieder mal ein bisschen wackelt bei unebenheiten. Aber wie es hier nun eingefügt wurde hat nichts mehr mit der Realität zu tun. Wenn man über 120 Km/H fährt, denkt man, dass man jede Sekunde entgleist, so doll wie der Zug wackelt! Bitte entfernt wieder dieses Feature!

Die Züge sehen sehr realistisch aus was mir sehr gut gefällt.

I am a steam engine enthusiast. I bought the game hoping steam would be introduced after some time, but it doesn't seem to be in the game soon. They keep promising it and stay vague about it. After years of waiting I don't trust them with my money anymore.
(Preferring steam engines plays a big role in this review, so if you don't care about steam engines, go look for reviews of those who have more fun with diesel/electric stuff.)
Technically, Train Sim World 2 is Train Sim World. View the game as being released in 2018, not 2020. To 'upgrade' to TSW2 you need to buy TSW2 (even though you can take the already bought DLC with you). This is only proving the point about DTG's reputation.
If you are willing to pay too much money for a lot of promises, slow progress and linear gameplay, then buy TSW/TSW2. I'm done being patient.

TSW2 looks and runs exactly the same as TSW1, only now you can PAINT THE TRAINS OMG HYPE!!!
cause you know, you wont be driving the trains from the cab view 95% of the time or anything.
oh and dont worry, if you were dumb enough to give dovetail your money for this and also some of its DLC you will be able to access /SOME/ of that dlc on TSW2 at some point maybe but they wont fix any of the bugs so you will get the same buggy mess but whatever give dovetail your money.

overall game is good, just stop scamming people.
Also, they keep updating one of their games names every year? Like now it's Train Sim 2021, Even though it's released in 2009 and they updated the name every year, showing how much of a complete scam this is. For proof, view: https://store.steampowered.com/app/24010/Train_Simulator_2021/
It's generally a very scummy thing of a games company to do as they are preying on people that will get confused and accidentally buy the wrong game, and yes, it's possible to get a refund, but it's still a cash grab, as not all people are gonna get a refund.
Don't get me wrong, this game is good. But, I don't recommend this series, or this developer, as it's extremely malicious, to the point of being a scam.

Having tried the new Incarnation of TSW 2 twice and obtained Refunds i'm a bit confused as to why some people are adamant that there is a Graphical Improvement in the new TSW 2.
This my opinion for what it's worth.
The new TSW 2 'Offering' appears to be more Cartoon Like and less detailed when compared to TSW 2020 and this together with a much simplified Control Interface makes for a less satisfying experience.
So sorry if this upset's the TSW 2 Fan Base. Happy New Year !

Over 20 dlcs that contain atleast over 20 hours of gameplay.
and the trains are realistics. as a train buff or train fan i find this game fun.
Even if the dlcs are expensive then i still recommend to play this game!

He is train obsessed and this gave us hours of fun when we couldnt leave the house and travel on trains.
Great graphics, lovely attention to detail. Totally worth the money.,

Dovetail released a standalone paid upgrade under the name Train Sim World 2 (which, at the moment, seems to have the same technical issues, with less features, than this one ????).

But no, all they did was add a couple of locos, routes and trains which are as expensive as the game (at the time I bought it) and offer very little for that price. Still I didn't lose hope.
Now thay have finally done it. They have abandoned this game. They didn't deliver what they promised and now they just released Train Sim World 2. It is literally the same game with minor changes which should have been an update to original Train Sim World. They want us to buy THAT now?
Stay away from this publisher if you don't want to get ripped off.

Even the folder in steam for the game is called TrainSimWorld2Prototype.
This is basically fraud that they sold this for full price then abandoned it and released it under another name.

I also recommend not purchasing the sequel.........paid update, as they are talking of using UE5 in the near future ( next year or two according to their press release on their website) which I guarantee will mean the sequel will be abandoned along with its money spinner rushed DLC too.
DTG WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY AND MAKE YOU PAY AGAIN TO GET FEATURES PROMISED FOR THE ITERATION OF THEIR SOFTWARE YOU JUST BOUGHT!
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
Additional : This decision appears to have been a monumental PR disaster for DTG and quite frankly this sort of reaction is absolutely deserved and has been a very long time coming.
Personally I am uninstalling this software and will now have to write off the money sunk into it, the only DTG software I will use now is TS20XX until it's creaking code gives up completely and I will be extremely selective in the DLC that will be purchased going forward.
I should have learned from Flight Sim World, another waste of money. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me....But mostly shame on you.

The simulation looks nice but has some annoying bugs and questionably design decisions.
There are a lot of positive things about the game like animated passengers getting on and off the train or that you can disable parts of the artificial helpers in the HUD. But I got quite annoyed by the negative ones. So here are some I came accross.
Tutorial Issues
Tutorials and mandatory introduction missions are bugged. They make you press certain switches while other switches are disabled so you can press nothing by mistake. But they made it so that if you toggle a switch with the mouse it can happen that you don't completely lock it into position. Now momentarily hitting the intended switch setting will trigger the tutorial to continue to the next step. But if in this case you wrongly moved the switch out of the intended position into another one, it will lock in that wrong position. Because the tutorial locks the switch right after you let it loose, you can't change the switch setting to what it should be and are stuck in a deadlock in the tutorial. Since the introductory tutorials/mission have sequences that you can't skip, this is really annoying. It happend on both the German and the US freight campaign. Did not try the others yet.
Blur Effect Issues
The graphical blur effect is bugged and sometimes makes the screen or parts of it blurred even if it shouldn't. Could be an AMD GPU related problem with the Unreal engine version they are using. I don't know. You can fix it by pressing CTRL+F2 to disable the blur effect. This is also useful if you can't stand blur effects in general. But they did not add an options entry to disable the effect permanently, you have to press the key combination every time you enter a mission.
GUI Issues
On 4K resolution the menu and ingame GUI does not perfectly align with the mouse cursor. It is slightly offset horizontally by about a button/switch width. This is bearable in the menu but really annoying in the game when you try to quickly select an engine switch with the mouse. This could be a bug of the Unreal engine version they are using, because I had something similar in another game (which updated Unreal and the problem later disappeared).
Menus are designed for console users which is not ideal for mouse use, like horizontal scroll lists that you can only navigate by clicking directional buttons (no mouse scroll).
Prominent advertisments for DLCs.
You have to confirm 2-3 screens just to get to the main menu.
The ingame map does not display any station names and locations which makes it difficult to play without the artificial helper HUD.
I once changed key assignments while in a mission. They input settings displayed my changed settings. But when I returned into the mission the settings where still the old ones.
Realism Issues
Seems like the speed limits on signs and signals that you see on the track don't match the ones provided on the games artificial HUD. Which makes one of the appeals of playing this simulation disappear (following signs and signals like a real driver).
I don't know what it looks like to at night from a real train with headlights on but they are quite dark in this game. Seems worse than the headlights of a car.

This game is definitely for any simulation enthusiast, or train lover, especially like the first person perspective.

First of all, the improvements of being able to walk around, higher quality graphics, and really great train detail and functionality is great, however, it does not outweigh the negative aspects.
Without any support for multiplayer (it was talked about, but there has been 0 news about it to this day), an editor that was promised years ago but has still not even been shown outside of a single stream where hardly anything happened with it, and no real mod support, it just seems more like this simulator has turned into a money grab.
I bought the game years ago for roughly the same price it is available at now, HOWEVER I feel as though Dovetail is really just trying to get people's money. There are more DLC that you would get by buying the game now for free, than you would have gotten if you purchased the game before the 2020 (moneygrab) update.
I'll continue to play it now that I own it, of course, but I wouldn't recommend to purchase it, not yet anyways.
TLDR; Might be worth the buy for some people now, but if you had bought it previously you are practically being forced to spend more money to get the same content those buying now will get. Dovetail refuses to release an editor despite it being clearly showcased as nearly fully functional years ago. No real mod support.

On the bright side, it's a major graphics update from Train Sim 2020, and performance is (mostly) better too.
However
The routes are much much smaller that Train Simulator 2020.
There's more content/DLC available for TS2020, and there's no editor for TSW.
There seems to be no way to play the locos/trains from one route on a different route.
The Raildriver controller isn't supported, and the developers are silent about it in the forums.
The whole game feels like it was designed to net easy cash from console players, rather than focussing on being a proper full-blown simulator.
