Ich für meinen Teil feiere dieses Spiel übelst.
Mit der Story, der Strategie und der nie endenden Möglichkeiten, hat mich das sofor Gefesselt.
Man kommt gut mit der Story voran und muss echt aufpassen, wie und für was man sein Geld ausgibt.
Ich empfehle euch, wenn ihr dieses Spiel kaufen wollt, ein wenig mehr auszugeben und dafür dann das Complete Pack kauft.
Mit der Extra storry aus dem Elite Solidier kommen noch einmal sehr schöne und herausfordernde Level dazu.
Ich kann dieses Spiel nur weiter Empfehlen und warne dich/euch vor einer Sucht-gefahr. Aber es lohnt sich auf jeden fall.

Geniales Addon, die neuen Mech-Einheiten machen so viel Spass und auch die neuen Missionen und Schauplätze sind einfach toll gemacht, wer sich XCom kauft sollte umbedingt dieses Addon dazu nehmen, das bereichert das Spiel um viele tolle Elemente.

Da freut man sich jetzt schon auf das nächste Addon/DLC ;)

Enemy Within is sort of like a standalone expansion for the base game; Enemy Unknown. It introduces new alien enemies, classes, items, missions, and a new major enemy faction in the form of the EXALT complete with its own quest line.
I've gotta say the additions to the base game are substantial and it's hard to go back to the base game afterwards. The rest of the DLC for Enemy Unknown is not very good, but this one is worth getting in my opinion.

A good add-on which offers extra threat and resources during the war against alien invader. This new threat is nothing more than an opposing human faction who can keep XCOM busier during the war to save humanity themselves as a thorn in the side. Unlike direct assault against alien invader, this human antagonist requires different strategy to approach, which raise the war to another level of complication. On the other hand, the add-on balances the weight with two brand new technological advancements and their resource material to combat this new threat at Commander's decree. Therefore, the player is required to employ even greater management skills and strategic thinking to overcome these new villains along with current ones.

Nevertheless, there are several drawbacks in this add-on which dull the gameplay itself. First, there are only two types of combat mission against EXALT forces, which later become very repetitive. Second, the scarcity of Meld supply prevents player from maximising the utilisation of both genetic and cybernetic technologies. In addition, cost of these new techs is somehow too expensive to invest from the beginning. Maximisation and completion of these techs inevitably required players to intentionally procrastinate the campaign. Not a well-balanced gameplay.

BEST GAME EVER it really makes it a proper challenge without being OVERLY frustrating i tend to just replay it for fun because even though there is nothing that the game does to incentivize replayability it does by how unpredictable the fights are.

Curse you XCOM: Enemy Within! We met on Amiga and then my old MS-DOS PC. And now this...

I love to hate this game! Especially when one of my soldiers misses a 96% shot. Or when a veteran gets killed in the weirdest possible way. I recommend this game for everyone who loves turn based strategies and for dinosaurs like me who played it on Amiga.

It was a great game when it was first released in 2013 but it no longer works with modern technology. 2K the publishing company not only refuses to try to the fix the problem it refuses to even acknowledge that there is one. If I am 100% Honest this isn't a review of the game but of it's publishing company. Between the problems I have had with Xcom 2 and the company's removal of support for this title I can not and will not trust 2K ever again. If you want a good Sci-Fi Strategy Game I advise you to look elsewhere. If you need Xcom it's best to stay with Enemy Unknown the one title that works... for now.

On windows 10 the game is glitched so you won't be able to access either this nor the original game with this installed.

This game is awesome. The replayability makes it even better. It's hard, it's infuriating, it's epic. I mostly dislike like 99% of games, but this still holds a special place in my heart.

What's awesome:

- If you deactivate tutorials and that kind of stuff, you just jump right into the action when the aliens first incursions are beginning.
- The game has a reverse difficulty: starts really hard and gets easier at the end. This plays nicelly with the story of the game, because during the invasion you can research and evolve, just like the aliens. If you play your research wrong, you are screwed.
- You can play the campaing as long as you want, so the game doesn't force you to play a certain way, but pushes you to keep up or die.
- Ironman mode makes you feel under real pressure.
- The base building phase is simple, but extremelly important as well to make the most of your finances.
- The story of the game is cool and you get to know it by killing/capturing aliens and researching their technology and performing autopsies.
- The action is great and yet so simple. You can't get bored. Like chess.

Review is based on beating the game with and without the DLC up to and including Classic Ironman.

TL;DR
Enemy Within is an expansion that feels like it really rounds out and finishes off the XCOM 2012 package and would highly, highly recommend getting it.

+ Adds plenty new content
+ makes the whole game feel more busy and well-rounded
+ Wonderfully fun additions to soldiers and new ways to play
- makes the difficulty jump from Normal to Classic even more significant

Enemy Within makes a few balance changes, adds some more character customisation options, a unique character, new equipment, five unique set-piece scripted missions, new enemies, a new enemy faction, and two new upgrade systems that make use of a new resource, Meld. Meld allows you to give characters Gene Mods that provide special abilities like situational aim bonuses, greater mobility, invisibility, or buffs. Alternatively, Meld can be used to craft 'MEC' robo-suits to turn soldiers into hulking powerful tanks.

Though no single addition in EW stands out as something that completely changes the game, the entire package adds up to a significant overhaul. With Meld upgrades, the new Advent faction and a new string of missions all working in tandem, there's even more progression tracks and things to keep in control of. Every mission feels just a little bit more impactful, every resource just a little more valuable, and even Xcom 2012's messy attempt at a thematic core feels more polished.

There are a couple foibles; the specific tuning of the new additions for your soldiers ultimately results in normal being even easier than before, and some reworked buffs to enemies both make the jump from normal difficulty to classic even more significant. A couple changes to balance may make very nitpicky players slightly annoyed. But there's nothing that's ever made me want to even consider going back to a version of XCOM 2012 without Enemy Within.

A complete overhaul of the base game with additional content and combat options. While it doesn't change the core story, you'll have an entirely new way to play through and it gives the game even more replay value than it already had, which was a lot to begin with.

This game is incredible and on sale for $10. Get the complete pack, all the DLC is fun.

Turn on autosave in the options and you're ready to rock. The new threat missions are really fun and the MEC/Genetics dichotomy early on makes for a completely different play experience each time.

This DLC further extends the base game with additional content. I got this as part of the Complete Pack during a sale for just 6€. [spoiler]Also, it's kinda funny that this DLC is 5€ more expensive than the base game[/spoiler]

Pros:
- Additional 20+hrs of gameplay
- New type of class, Mech Trooper, a cybernetic soldier.
- New enemy faction
- New cutscenes
- New game mechanics
- New type of resource/supplies, Meld, which you can get from missions.
- New kind of soldier upgrades, Gene mods, you can further enhance your soldiers with genetic upgrades.
- New enemies
- New Council missions
- Some soldiers can use their own language according to their nationality

Cons:
- Lot of the cutscenes are the same as it is in the base game.
- Berserker attack lags the game
- Story is the same just like in the base game.
- There are nationalities, which has no own language audio

8/10 Worth getting it on sale, or as part of the Complete Pack.

No reason not to get this DLC with whole bundle on discount tbh. It enhances the game. The only frustrating mission that it adds is Base defence. It's mandatory to beat the game and quite hard. Kinda throws you in unprepared.

This added so much content to the base game that they could have easily sold it separately.
The additions here are all excellent and add even more replayability to an already awesome game. A wholeheartedly essential expansion pack.

XCOM:EU, in my personal opinion was a good, if not great game. Though the sequel has been out for a good long time now, I've only recently picked this game up, and with all DLCs. Playing through the base game was enjoyable, if challenging, but this game makes it even better. Starting off, new enemy types, the Mechtoid and Seeker specifically, both presenting their own unique challenge to take down, plus the Sectopod having a damage resistance which cuts your damage in half when firing at it. The Sectopod changes, while they do make them a true challenge, also make the last mission hell on earth if you aren't prepared to Rift and dump all your rounds into one Sectopod immediately. Now, I'd be doing a disservice if I forgot to mention Josef Mengele's wet dream, G-Mods, and my personal favorite class, the MEC Trooper. Starting with G-Mods, these require a Genetics Laboratory and a lot of the new resource Meld which comes from your pocket to augment your troops. Full mods to a soldier can take 15~ days in game and are all very expensive. A MEC Trooper on the other hand might be more of a Meld investment at the beginning, but they become worth it at MEC-2/3 as their Tactical Subsystems and high-damage weapons allow them to remove almost all threats they encounter. Overall, I like it, it expands the base campaign, and I assume will only get better if you have Long War installed.

9/10 - VERY addicting. I love this game! It keeps most of what made the original so fun to play and improves upon almost everything else. I completed four separate play-throughs and enjoyed every minute of it. Highly recommended.

This is not a DLC. This is a real, old-fashioned expansion pack. It alters the game so much that it can safely be called a sequel. New weapons, enemies, soldiers, abilities and so much more for one of the best Turn-Based Strategy game ever. I love you Firaxis and 2K!

As a personal game of the year 2012, the brilliantly made XCOM Enemies Unknown is expanded with more content that will change the way you play in Enemies Unknown. The new additions, mainly the MEC trooper and Gen Mod adds an interesting layer of choice into the game while the new maps does make each playthrough much more interesting.

Definitely another great expansion that any Enemies Unknown players should own.
