Unfortunately my PC is ass and won't play the game right. But I liked the parts that I could play. It's a good progression from Human Revolution, which I also loved.

I really hope there will be a DE:MD 2 in the next few years, because that Avengers game was obviously not worth it.

Somit ist klar du musst da was tun, aber was?

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
6th out of 6th ScFi Cyberpunk RPG from 2016.

Never before has there been a game that has been so controversial. Especially because the game is a world of so-called
mechanical apartheid.
The game uses the very advanced one
Glacier 2 engine, called the Dawn engine.

History takes you to 2029. A run-down near future in which corruption has become the worst enemy of all. Moment everyone? no, those who are rich secure their power and they really do everything to keep it. It is a time called dystopi.

You live in this future-pessimistic scenario of a society that is developing into a negative. The question is how long? This world, run down by large corporations and politicians, actually offers you everything you need to do something about it. You are well prepared and have already done something to improve the situation, but mechanically augmented people are outcasts who lead a life completely separate from society and you are one of them.

You are now a very experienced secret agent, after all you have successfully survived the past few years.
Unfortunately, you are forced to work in a world that detests Cybors. Unfortunately, you are responsible for this situation yourself. So it is clear you have to do something there, but what?

As Adam Jensen you are now at the Interpol special task force 29. So try not only to improve your life but to make the environment of all people more livable. You receive unexpected help from the Juggernaut collective, an association of hackers and political activists, to uncover the machinations of the beneficiaries of the exploited and oppressed.

The scene of the plot is mostly futuristic Prague, where the augmented people were interned in the suburb of Útulek Station, colloquially only called Golem City.

Exceptional action shooter with a sensational story.

Here you will find my group and my archive with almost 1,000 reviews and of course all Deus Ex games. Enjoy browsing.

Held off on buying this one because of all the hate it was getting at release and let me tell you, that was a huge mistake. Despite a couple of misguided and alienating decisions (probably from the top brass), Mankind Divided is a truly outstanding game, and a worthy successor to dxhr.

While the story does end rather abruptly and isn't that interesting compared to Human Revolution, Mankind Divided is still worth playing, especially since it goes on sale for so cheap.

Though this is still a worthy package. The side missions honestly feel more compelling and more memorable compared to the main story. The 3 Jensen stories while short are missions I still love and remember. Desperate Measures is basically an hour long side quest that just didn't exactly fit with the pacing of the main game. System Rift has an awesome high tech heist feeling. A criminal past has you going undercover in a Supermax Aug prison to really find out what's going on under the surface of the prison.

It's a bummer we may never see another game with Adam Jensen.

My computer hard crashes constantly during a certain segment that is necessary to complete to progress the story. After about ~3.5 hours of playtime, I quite literally cannot progress. The game is *literally* unplayable. It certainly isn't my hardware as I have a 5600x & a 3070ti. I can run the game on ultra at 165+ fps. It is, however, most certainly just a disgrace of a console port.

I had fun with the game when I could play it. But, the game is literally broken for me. I cannot recommend anyone in good conscious buy this game because of that. Maybe your luck will vary, but it seems to be a very prevalent issue after some forum digging.

Great game, on of the few games in my life that I actually enjoyed completing. If you are going to play it on GNU+Linux - avoid native. On my RX 580 4GB on OpenGL (native) I had about 30-60 fps, while Proton with DXVK allowed me to play at smooth 120-150.

Nice visuals and improved combat mechanics don't make up for a painfully boring story, tedious stealth, and a world full of characters you couldn't care less about.

Remember the excitement, mystery, and sense of 'seeing behind the curtain' you got from the original, or Human Revolution? A crazy global conspiracy that's slowly unveiled in a futuristic world of augmentations and crazy tech? FEMA camps are real! Creepy AI! Global geo-engineering projects! Globe-trotting travel! Nope, sorry, none of that here. Enjoy investigating a subway station bombing in Prague for 40 hours. That's literally it. Adam Jensen is an entry-level ATF agent investigating a banal terrorist attack. Spoiler Alert: one bad guy would like to get some legislation passed because it might make the other bad guy's business fail. Seriously? Sorry am I playing Deus Ex or have I accidentally started watching a procedural legal drama? Here and there the writers sort of half-heartedly try to cram in some conspiracy theory illuminati spookyness, but it falls flat and is immediately forgotten.

Other gripes: Hope you like spending 4 hours save-scumming so you can crawl 50 feet without being spotted by guards- that's the entire game now- tedious unrewarding stealth. What else... They made the hacking mini-game somehow even more obnoxious. The pistol is terrible now and silenced lethal weapons are kind of bad in general, so you either have to play sneaky melee or guns-blazing, there's no in between. Inventory management is as dumb as ever and should just be scrapped. You earn a pitiful number of praxis points but there are 3000 augmentations- You end up being paralyzed by choice and never spending your points, or dumping them in abilities to grow to regret.

Side quests that branch out to numeral ways to complete, greatly written, mostly individually and very well voiced, interesting and cool characters, incredible atmosphere, a world where you are almost everytime rewarded for exploration filled to the brim with secrets, collectibles, resources and lore, the ability to choose your general playstyle and approach to every mission and/or situation with multiple points of entry, great graphics, starring probably one of the best stoic, badass, typical hunk type of a character with the name of Adam friggin' Jensen who never fails to deliver on the largely intenional laugh-out-loud quips, comebacks and dialogue options ever concieved...

Here, all the goods that come with this extremely solid cyberpunk RPG/immersive sim.

It might not present the most interesting main story ever told -it felt like they cared more about creating better more interesting side quests than main ones-, it may feel a bit limiting towards the way you play at the latter end of the game in the name of sticking to their political commentary, perhaps it doesn't feature the biggest, loading screen-free open world ever created -I can honestly call this one a limited open world game with huge areas seperated by technical limitations I guess, and I'm completely okay with that myself actually- and lastly it really isn't optimized the best unfortunately yet despite these negatives the game's a great one.

I hugely recommend anyone to play Human Revolution first, than hop into this and then go on to play the older titles, these ones are chronologically predecessors to those. You'll have the time of your life I bet. Hopefully we'll get to see the end of this trilogy one day. Shoutout to you Square, give the greenlight to Eidos already.

(P.S. DLC's have technical problems and that almost ruined my whole experience with the game. Just so you know, talking especially about A Criminal Past. You can check my review on that if you exactly want to know why.)

Really quite a good game. Quality stealth action, rewarding skill trees, and a solid narrative (well, half; fuck you Square).

Unfortunately, as usual, the greedy bastards at Square massacred the game in a smoothbrained effort to squeeze more money out of an already niche audience.

Buy it at half price or less since it's half a game.

this game goes on sale frequently. so I will give reason for that. First section more or less starts out like Human revolution, you have an area you have bad guys you have a clear path forward.

then that ends after about 2 hours. theres a long cutscene you cannot skip, you get to the city core. which is a needlessly large area to use up system resources and now the game starts to chug. since its got early level and late game paths now available you will get killed because you go places you that are too high level for you, and theres no good indicator of the path forward.

at this point I could treat this as a 1990s obtuse adventure game, get a guide to figure out the path forward, or stop playing.

I chose to stop playing. I did attempt the start twice, so like 2 hours first area. fun, then the city cores load, 2 hours frustration looking for the path forward. quit. did that twice. second time might have been with a higher spec machine or the city core being more optimized.

still obtuse and no clear path forward.

The dumpster fire that initially surrounded this game had nothing to do with the quality of it. Same great Deus Ex, perhaps with a flavor of Dishonored thanks to the main location. It's all good. DXMD takes the series in some new directions and you've gotta hand it to DX sequels for continuing to change it up. Even the original developer failed hard with DX2 but not these guys.

The situation then is so ironic that it's actually pretty good, and terribly fitting - the result of cynical corporate meddling. From the appalling preorder pyramid scheme to campaign content stripped to be sold as DLC as well as the microtransactions-riddled companion game Breach. To top it off, the story arch was cut up to be sold over several standalone games. Meaning, this one ends
on a cliffhanger after what feels like the first act.
When all of that backfired they proceeded to give the big middle finger to everyone that cares about the franchise by putting it on hold indefinitely. It's all very in-universe of them, really. Also seems like the Valve curse all over again, unable to reach no 3.

The developer's fate? Sent to the mines to make Marvel games.

Might be best to hand Deus Ex to a fresh team again for the next entry. The Jensen story was all about mechanical augmentations anyway, and I'd like the next one to get back to nano-tech or the next step.

The controversy is long gone. These are great, awesome even, games so it would be nice if they continue to sell year after year until men in suits gather around a table in a dimly lit room for another meeting.

I loved Deux Ex Mankind Divided way more than Human Revolution. I loved the aesthetic and atmosphere way more than Human Revolution.
I will be honest, I had reservations about it being incomplete which I have heard, and I will agree, is true. It has a vibe of being unfinished, the same problem that Metal Gear Solid 5 The Phantom Pain has.
Still, I freaking loved it. The graphics are gorgeous, the gameplay more polished, the dialogue just as engaging as Human Revolution.

Play this to scratch your cyberpunk itch until CDPR releases 2077 GOTY edition or something. You'd be pleasantly surprised how well a 5-year-old game stands up against more recent titles. Just a friendly tip, don't enable DX12 (it's pretty ironic how a game called DXMD has DX issues).

Overall: B+

Depending on what you look for in video games (and especially one carrying the weight of the Deus Ex franchise), Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will either be thoroughly enjoyable experience or a complete let-down. If you come to the game expecting a fun, RPG/ immersive sim, you will find a lot to enjoy. On the other hand, if you want a meaty story to bite into, you will leave starved.

To quickly get the negatives out of the way, the story leaves next-to-no impact. While a story full of international conspiracy, cover-ups, and terrorist attacks, should be gripping, the plot is simply bland and forgettable. Nothing in the story detracts from the game, mind you, but it certainly doesn’t add. The events of the plot never seemed to carry much weight and just served to advance to the next mission. Just a few weeks after playing, I cannot name a single character besides the protagonist, Adam Jensen.

Fortunately, this problem mostly sticks to the main plot. Some of the side stories are quite interesting. For example, in one early on, you discover an illegal drug distribution ring operating in Prague, the game’s main location. When divorced from the main plot, the writing quality greatly improves. The writing, in general, creates a world which seems to be inhabited by actual people. Many times, I would find a ‘pocket secretary’ (a sort of phone) with messages from coworkers complaining about how “for the last time, the code to the door is 1645! You cannot be this dumb!” Or you find yourself sorting through emails and you discover the petty feuds between coworkers. In these moments, the writers were allowed to have fun making a world which felt interconnected. Often emails would be referenced in later emails on different terminals and you could piece together a story about what happened to the poor guy in apartment number whatever.

On the gameplay front, Mankind Divided offers great improvements over Human Revolution. For starters, the city of Prague is an immensely detailed hub-world where most buildings can be entered and offers many routes to discover off the beaten path. The levels in general always offer more than one way to achieve any objective and the exploration constantly feels like a treat. The level design takes a lot of inspiration from metroidvanias where pathways constantly loop back on themselves in interesting, surprising ways. The augments have also been tweaked to be more useful overall. Some abilities which were nearly useless in Human Revolution see regular importance in Mankind Divided. Pro tip: the high-jump ability is hands-down one of the most useful skills in the game.

If you’re a fan of the series (especially Human Revolution) you will find a lot to enjoy here. If you’re new to the franchise and want a story-rich game, you would be better served elsewhere. However, if you want a fun stealth/ action game to explore in, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided will more than scratch that itch.

This game and series is so good. I love the hub world, it feels so lived-in. I wish it was even more fleshed out and had side quests etc.. Maybe if they allowed modders to do add stuff to it, I dunno. But in any case the game is fantastic as is. One of the few games I really have a strong urge to replay

If you are disappointed by Cyberpunk, a game wide as an ocean and deep as a puddle, then take a look at deus ex. Same futuristic setup (altough a bit less beautiful) but every inch of the relatively small map (set in prague) can be explored for hours. There is so much to see and find, many stories to uncover, things you will never come across when following quests only. I played it once following quests only, now im playing it again and in the 9 hrs since i only did maybe 5 quests, with Hours spent exploring one single bank building, trying to find its secrets, break into their faults and circumvent their security all without them noticing. Its satisfying, challenging and well thought out and written. Maybe Deus Ex is wide as a puddle, but it sure is deep as an ocean. Can't wait what the other parts of prague have in store for me.

It's not bad but the loading times can be pretty bad at times and to progress from a certain cutscene in the main story I had to turn off 1/2 off the cores in my CPU.

You can play it stealthy or guns-blazing or a combination thereof which is also neat.

While not as good as Human Revolution, Mankind Divided still kept me engrossed for ~28 hours of playtime. Definitely not a bad pick if you're looking for a solid cyberpunk game, but I do suggest you start with Human Revolution if you haven't played it yet.

I enjoyed every aspect of this game when it came to game-play, side mission and graphics except that the game is pretty bad. Story is atrocious and story telling too. They end the story so abruptly that your mind starts to boggle like what just happened. Game has micro transactions which is pretty stupid for a single player game and the side character pretty stupid and boring. I would go to lengths and say that alex is worst side character i have ever seen in a video game, she just pushes you around to do this and that rather being helpful. And playable DLC except criminal past is pretty bad. Criminal past is pretty great and story is also awesome. I GIVE THIS GAME 6/10. BUT the graphics are good and game has interesting mechanics and side quests are also really great. AND in sale this game is a steal. SO I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO BUY THE GAME ON SALE.

Underrated! I replayed this again 5 years after my first play through in 2016. Great writing, graphics, and cyberpunk action. Considering the quality of games being released today, this game has aged well.

It is a crime Eidos Montreal was not allowed to finish the trilogy or handle this game as they wanted to, shame on you Square Enix.

Give me more DEUS EX!!

Well, Deus ex: Mankind divided is one of those games that will divide mankind. Top notch in their times, with different approaches and quests and collectibles, places and dialogues to explore. You will definitely enjoy that. You can be silent and pacifist which takes time but gives more rewards, or go all out in a killing spree, which is quicker and riskier. There's no real constraints on retries and saves, except in the latest difficulty where you will lose your save after dying. All this is good. The problem appears on its performance. Its a bad and rushed port to PC and it shows. You might have a problem not while playing it, but with capturing it, even on low settings. Higher ones will also give those stutterings to playing as well, but not as bad as the capturing stutters. The inventory is bugged and it will crash the game at a certain point without a workaround, if you were prepared to it. When you reach the night time, the game will crash everytime it loads. You will be able to play it on another PC (or not) or in geforce now... duting a session of one hour for free. Untill they don't patch this issue, i cannot recommend it on Steam

I honestly couldn't really tell with the press and word-of-mouth about the game around or after release, but the game truly is an immersive sim.

If you're a fan of the genre, pick it up on a sale.

I had the most fun just exploring the town and breaking into apartments, stores, restricted areas.

Kind of feels like Thief in that regard.

The story and the main quests on the other hand did not hook me so I played until I got my fix of immersive sim and stopped.

A Brief Introduction

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is the direct sequel to the 2011 megahit, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. You continue the story of Adam Jensen directly following the events and ending of Human Revolution, making it an absolute necessity to have played the previous game. Story events will simply not make sense without the context, and Deus Ex is a franchise fully defined by its detailed and convoluted story.

Human Revolution has caused a lot of split opinions since its release, with some saying it's just as worthy of the Deus Ex title as any other, while other people claim its a bastardization of the franchise. So, should you get it? I think it’s worth your time, but you be the judge.

In-Depth Analysis

Gameplay

Gameplay is near-identical to Human Revolution, which is to say, it is VERY good. Mankind Divided is a cover-based shooter and stealth game, where the player can always choose between guns blazing and Metal Gear Solid levels of stealth action. This is the mantra of Deus Ex, the player always chooses the best way to approach a situation. You can talk your way out of a problem, or shoot your way out. However, similar to real life, if you make an enemy out of everyone, you won’t be able to kill them all. So pick your fights wisely.

Human Revolution had some sub-par non-lethal options, either in that they were just bad and didn’t do their job, or slammed them into a wall and killed them anyways. In DE:MD, the stun gun and tranquilizer rifle are actually EXCELLENT at their job of taking people out silently and non-lethally, to the point where it's almost easier than killing them. Being stealthy and not having multiple robots trying to kill you can often yield better loot and easier routes, at the cost of more effort.

Another key feature of the Deus Ex series are augmentations, cybernetic enhancements built into Adam’s body to enhance various aspects of his performance, ranging from more lethality, to more stealth, and even one solely focused on talking to other people. Managing your augmentations and deciding which upgrade path you want to take heavily affects what possibilities you have when attempting a mission. For example, if you didn’t invest into strength enhancers, you can’t move extremely heavy objects blocking a vent cover. But, since you invested into remote hacking, you can disable the laser grid without coming out from cover. It’s specialization like this that makes FPS RPGs so fun to play and add a ton of replay value. There’s at least twenty different ways to approach any challenge.

For example, when I was tasked with breaking into a bank, rather than try and sneak past some of the most expensive security systems in the city, I broke my way through a wall into the security booth and turned ALL of the turrets and robots against the staff, effectively taking control of the entire building. The guards didn’t even shoot me because they had no idea I caused all their robots to go crazy. The freedom of choice is an enticing prospect for any game, and Mankind Divided does it very well.

Story

Deus Ex is always dripping from every facet with story, and Mankind Divided is no different.
With Adam Jensen now aware of the Illuminati’s influence, he’s joined Interpol’s Anti-Terrorism division in an attempt to root them out, with the assistance of a hacking group called the Juggernaut Collective. Things take a turn for the worst as Růžička Station in Prague is violently destroyed by planted bombs, sending Interpol into a panic and increasing tensions between augmented civilians and the downright racist police force of the city caused by the Incident at the end of Human Revolution. Jensen makes it his personal mission to find out who is responsible for the attacks, while also attempting to stop a building Illuminati plot to retake control of society after Hugh Darrow sent the entire world spiraling into hell years ago.

The main themes of the story heavily revolve around a not so subtle metaphor for racism, with augmented humans facing heavy discrimination for the events of the Incident. I personally don’t like this attempt at a metaphor, because it works better on its own merits. People that came under attack from crazed mechanized humans would have good reason to fear them, but the people that went crazy were being controlled by somebody else. Nobody, and yet everybody is to blame.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2491570716

The biggest problem with the story is that it doesn’t really go anywhere. The start of the game sets up Adam to try and take the fight to the Illuminati, but then he gets so sidetracked with the bombing that barely any progress is made. While finding and confronting the bomber is satisfying, the overall plot has not gone anywhere relevant. The Illuminati are undaunted, and some major plot points are not addressed, leading to an ending that is both somehow satisfying and annoying at the same time.

Visuals

Mankind Divided is a tale of two stories. One is the world, and the other is that ugly, copy and pasted NPC face I’ve seen five times now. The majority of the game looks gorgeous, a perfect blend of normal and cyberpunk aesthetics that put 2077 to shame.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2491570186

The problem is that clearly zero effort went into the NPC designs. They are ugly, low poly, a fair amount of them are copy and pasted, and it's extremely annoying when major characters like Adam, his supervisor, and others are VERY detailed and look extremely good. Thankfully, most NPCs don’t matter at all, and can be somewhat ignored.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2491571167

Audio

Mankind Divided has an incredible digital punk soundtrack that matches the theming perfectly. While all of it honestly sounds the same, that sound is extremely enjoyable. It also rises in intensity depending on the situation. If bullets start flying around, the soundtrack will definitely pick up to match.

Voice acting is well done and believable, which was a sticking point to some in Human Revolution. However, background NPCs habitually repeat lines of dialogue, even when it's entirely different people, which can ruin the immersion.

I gotta give a shout out to the Sniper Rifle, which has such a satisfying mechanical chunkiness to its shots that I killed quite a few people that probably didn’t deserve it just to hear it again.

Technical

GeForce RTX 2060 6GB | AMD Ryzen 9 | 16GB | Windows 10

Bad news here, Mankind Divided is both very demanding and very unoptimized. I got better FPS with higher settings on Doom Eternal, the king of VRAM hogging, compared to DE:MD. MD was averaging at best about 65 - 70 FPS on high settings. I also found myself having to restart the game several times because my FPS had dropped down to 25 and simply wouldn’t go back up.

There’s also an infamous problem with the MSAA that will absolutely CRIPPLE your performance, permanently smacking you down to sub-20 FPS even on god-tier PCs. Disable it if you have problems.

Conclusion

A very enjoyable game with some issues.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided took some steps in the right direction from Human Revolution, and some in the wrong direction. While the gameplay is objectively superior to its predecessor, the story, dialogue and characters took some hits. The scenery looks better, but the background characters don’t. There also aren’t really any interesting characters outside of Adam Jensen himself. Still, the open-ended story choices and gameplay give it a high amount of replay value.

Ultimately, if you liked Human Revolution, you’ll probably really like DE:MD too, albeit with some different ups and downs.

Best game I've ever played. Wish Square Enix hadn't made the dev team work on less interesting and unoriginal titles like Tomb Raider and Avengers, so they could have focused on finishing this story. Feels like half a season of an epic TV show, and left me badly wanting to play the sequel (or the missing second half of the game). I have nothing bad to say about this game, even newer, flashier titles I've played just don't measure up in my opinion.

I hope the same devs/creative team that brought this to life get to reunite and make the next installment soon with Square Enix -- or whoever, if someone else gets the rights.

Don't ever even try to retire/replace Agent Jensen-- WE'LL NEVER ASK FOR THAT. Just sequel(s), please.

Two giant f*cking augmented clank thumbs up.

Short Version: Cyberpunk done Right!
Human Revolution > Mankind Divided > Cyberpunk

If you are really thinking about a cyberpunk game, this game is still better than Cyberpunk 2077. Unfortunately, poor business practises and micro transactions have lowered its quality. The pre-order practises really ruined the image of a great game. There were saying that if you pre-order only you get great augs. The game planned to have microtransactions which were cancelled. However, the sale of the game took a hit and therefore deus ex franchise went on a hiatus.
My opinion: Apply the same principles of Tomb Raider to Deus Ex and watch how successful it becomes! Deus Ex is better because Adam Jensen is Augmented Batman!

What is amazing about this game:
-The graphics are absolutely amazing! Unfortunately, the game is not optimized very well and you really need a good PC. You may even have to do some tweaking. However, that is not a problem. Valve allows you to return a game within 14 days or purchase provided you have played less than 2 hours. Please see the youtube tutorial below (not made by me). Note: I won a contest for the Deus Ex Collection and my PC could not fully handle it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t3ue8g3LQO0&ab_channel=2kliksphilip
-It is certainly more open world than human revolution. There are more places to explore which makes this game great for the role playing aspect. More side quests in the city of Prague which is very beautiful.
-It is a solid stealth game. I did not enjoy the Hitman series. Stealth was very hard to be honest.
-Jensen is a super soldier with awesome perks! Ex: Remote Hacking Aug!
-A lot of choices: You can play as a tank class or stealth around. It is all up to you! An Innocent looking shop will have supplies and secret passage into your quest.

What is disappointing?
-The story was not done very well at all. There is a cliff hanger ending! You pretty much need the DLCs and even then it is not complete. They tried to cash in and focused on money than polishing the story. The game play and graphics are great but you need a story. Otherwise, it is Déjà Vu borderlands 3! It feels like Deus ex 1.5 and it gave us the Halo 2 feeling.
-The DLCs improve the game but are not game changing.
- The developers have now focused now more on avengers Deus Ex died so we get more avengers? NO I did not ask for this!

In Summary: Buy the game when on sale and if you think your PC can handle it. The game play and the different ways of the doing a mission is amazing.

A really fun game to get immersed in, with great design everywhere. This is a steal for 5 dollars and the 3 dollar season pass comes with two high quality DLC's that are standalone, but fit within the story-line if you are craving more. Some technical notes: this game highly benefits from being installed on a SSD, because if not you may have some load time issues between the various districts (they are jam packed with detail). As well, don't use DX12, it does not seem to work properly - you will have a very smooth experience with DX11. Overall a stunning game.

The game has severe technical issues, especially with long loading times. Worst issue is that in many times the loading gets stuck, so that the actual game never starts. The loading icon just keeps rolling till kingdom come. You have no option but to kill the game via task manager, and hope that the next try will actually start the game.

One of the common problems with this game is that it won't load after the Golem City mission. There has been countless reports about this issue since 2016, and the bug still exists. My playing also stopped at this point; I cannot get the game to load the next phase (returning to Prague) after that. I guess there might be a nice story to play, but I cannot play the damn game.

There seems to be some tricks you could try to tweak your system for the game to work, but you shouldn't be required to do that. It's not acceptable for a game which has been out there for 4,5 years to still have these kind of issues, especially when the same bugs have been there since the very beginning, after all those patches.
So no, I cannot recommend this not-playable game for my friends or anyone else either.

I finished and didn't like Human Revolution.
I know Mankind Divided's plot and don't care for it.
I wasn't too impressed with its immersive sim mechanics - especially compared with the same year's Arkane games.

That's not what I came here for.
I came here for Prgaue.

If there's one improvement the industry has seen as production costs went higher, it's the amount of artistic effort put into AAA games. And this little hand-crafted patch of Prague is a blasted epitomy of this.

The movie posters, the political pamphlets the ads.
The old city houses, the new glass-and-steel constructions, the oppressive brutalism bank building.
The mess of private apartments, the carefully arranged shelves of cozy small shops.
The dirty cobblestone streets and the skies, struck through by power lines and planes.
The finely designed clothes of every person you see - from bums to corporate leaders.

Wood, stone and polymer - that's what Prague is about. I could walk around for hours looking into small detail, and I did. This game costs a pittance on sale, so I got more than my money's worth for ten hours of futuristic tour to the capital of Czech Republic.

Then there's the Dubai introductory level, and its opening vista. Then there's the Golem City and its market.

I really wish one day writers on AAA projects began doing as good of a job as artists on the regular basis, and not as an exception.

Although Deus Ex Mankind Divided is not as good as human revolution in term of story, it compensated through gameplay. The story take place 2 years after the human revolution. Jensen now work for Interpol under Task Force 29. Maybe I miss this part of the story, or this have been explain in the recap cutscene that I've skipped over but throughout the game, I have no idea how Jensen got involve with Interpol or what happen to him for the 2 years time skip. I don't even know that he went missing for a year in Alaska after the Aug incident until Sariff briefly mention that topic. Many of the new characters I don't have a clue what their background is or what his/her relationship with Jensen until I saw the character background in the loading screen and even then it does not explain everything. Because of this, my experience with the story was really hindered with. If they flesh out these questions, maybe people would not be so upset with this game. The theme of the is also really simplistic compare to Human Revolution. Instead of presenting both side of the topic of whether augmentation is good or bad like in human revolution, this game just abandon that aspect and deal with racism which the game handle quite poorly. The game very obviously tell the player that the people that are against Augs are bad because they provide no real argument for people that are against Augs while they show how Augs suffer because of discrimination. It all feel really predictable and cheap. The game ended on a cliffhanger which is great because we would not get another Deus Ex game for a long time because of the Avenger nonsense. Story aside, the gameplay is great. This game improve the gamplay and stealth of human revolution as well as providing new augmentation for the player to mess around with different playstyle. Praha (Prague) is just like Detroit but bigger. It felt alive with lots of secrets for the player to discover. Soundtrack is on par or even better than the last game which is great. If you went in for Mankind Divided for the story, then you would be left dissapointed. If you went in for the gameplay, then it a great game. Overall, it a good game can could be great if the story were not so mismanage. All because of Square Enix want to split this game up into different part but realize that is a bad idea when looking at Himan 2016 so they tries to combine all of the part into one and mess up the narrative.

Mankind Divided brims with improved gameplay, more of the incredible soundtrack, stupendous levels & exploration and fantastic quests, but the main story is so shallow and blantantly unfinished, setting up more than it can chew , that it leaves me with enormous dissapointment knowing this series is likely never going to be given a second chance again.
The worst part of the story isn’t that it’s unfinished, it’s that honestly it failed to captivate me as much due to how despite the potential to be engaging, the source of the events at play simply is too far fetched and borderline misunderstands Human Revolution (which’s story already had a lot of issues understanding the original game).

It genuinely is a game with so much potential that was cut short equally by both publisher idioticy of the game they were selling and a developer mishandling their own vision.
I cannot in good faith recommend this game unless it’s a good discount, it’s not awful, in fact I enjoy so much of it, but when the first thing I think after finishing is “wait, that’s it?” then I wonder if it was worth playing it.

Back here just to say that this is how Cyberpunk 2077 should have been.
The more time I spend playing the other janky thing, the more I remember how flawless and beautiful this game feels.
Deus Ex is such a good taste vibrant game. 2077 is ugly and empty.

This a true cyberpunk game. Here you don't need a car to move around. Cyberpunk is about walking the streets, back alleys and taking the subway so you can listen to what the city has to say through its poor and rich citizens. Here you can do and feel so.

Character background is mind blowing and makes you connect with Jensen right away to the point that it makes developing your skills something meaningful and rewarding through a crisp layout where you actually see how your implants attach and work on your character. These are actual augments, not the green, blue, purple over-exploited item system we've been seeing in games for 20 years now.

The attention to detail got me even interested in the developer's work and crew that made this happen. Art direction is stunning. Landscapes, furniture, weapons, clothes... It all looks amazing and it's placed perfectly around a world full of context.

Breaking into a computer is something you will not skip. Using a rewarding and fun hacking system you can read emails that give you valuable information to use in-game and a very well-written fresh and original chunk of lore about the cyberpunk subgenre plus of course... Some nice gossip!

Choice of words, actions and playstyle actually matter, they will set a persistency during the whole playthrough and the situations you find yourself into are well set and orchestrated so things make sense.

Level design is really solid. Not a thin spread of an untasty and limited pool of skins here and there. Here levels are built both in the X and Y-axis, with plenty of alternatives to approach them and full of secrets to uncover by paying attention to this perfectly crafted environment. Something that sadly you will not find in any other cybeprunk triple A game out there.

Enjoy.

The main story feels a bit too short but still a very fun game and a must-play for any cyberpunk lover. Prague is depicted in a very credible way, even if.. well, none of the places in the game actually exists :) The DLCs are a very nice add, especially system rift with one of the best levels in the game and A criminal past, not really convinced by Breach. The only really bad thing is the one-use items in the DLC, honestly not acceptable for a single-player game. Overall recommended.

this game isnt perfct, and ends of a cliff hanger, but it is a great Deus Ex experience, and is a game that will last you a fair while as you experiment with your augmentations and level design. The problem with the cliff hanger is that we lost out on the third and final game in the series due to Marvel's Avengers. Show this game some love, show that we want this final game in a trilogy. Also, make your jokes now about Adam Jensen.

Tl;dr:
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is a great game, however it is not a great Deus Ex game.

The combat and movement are leaps and bounds above what was offered in Human Revolution and all of the new Augmentations have utility with the only one that feels broken being the invisibility.
(which I had perpetually active for the end game while frantically chugging biocells)
The new power balance system feels great when it applies and if/when it finally doesn't, you feel like a Techno-wizard controlling all events around you. My only problem with the new combat/stealth system is how little energy the baseline recharge is as you will be using augments a lot and it will fully deplete often. This limitation of energy is negated by the abundance of biocells around, but why not allow it to just fill up further than 1/6 of the bar with more levels in the augment rather than forcing me to toil through the console focused menu system to pop my 4th bio cell of the mission because I can't hack a camera then immediately knock out an enemy without a recharge delay.

The story suffers greatly from the clearly axed content that must have come from Square Enix West towards the latter half of the games development. The effects of cuts are clear just when looking at the pacing of main missions where you are abruptly transitioning from Jet-setting to back in unchanging Prague. It seems that Prague was not originally intended to be the only Hub City you visit for more than a smash and grab, makes the game feel very disconnected from the formulaic world spanning narrative offered in previous titles. This lack of world building outside of Prague makes you feel like the best detective in The Czech Republic who is occasionally called in as an expert for terror situations rather than the man single-handedly bringing down the hidden power structures of humanity. Side quests also show this down scaling of story as when you first get set up in Prague there's a dizzying amount available but with each subsequent return there are less and less until there is only two on your last visit.

Characters, which have always been pivotal to Deus Ex feel thin in this rendition with most of your supposed all star support team hardly ever checking in on you when you are not in the office talking to them face to face. Even when you talk to major npcs directly they have little to say about anything substantive other than quests they are directly involved in and seem to not know what your up to otherwise. One improvement in this area is Interpol npcs are acutely aware of very small things you do in the world, help a homeless man score some Neuropozyne? everyone in your unit will have good things to say about it! Break into the whole offices computers and safes? only the technology officer seems to care. The only person who seems to care about every little step you make towards the truth is Alex Vega and she almost inversely will not care about any small thing you do.

If you are going to buy the game be sure and get the DLC missions, they are tightly contained stories that feel like they should have the same integration that The Missing Link had for Human Revolution, with A Criminal Past being a welcome fresh breath to the Deus Ex mission formula and System rift being a true test for stealthy players featuring a new detection system that after encountering, feels like it belongs in the base game.

This seems to be best played on a console. The PC port here on Steam is very poorly optimized, buggy, and broken someplace deep in the engine. The most laughable, serious performance issue I have is my frame rate dropping 25 FPS just because I open the inventory menu and then pop back out. This drop in FPS doesn't un-f*ck itself until I quit to the main menu and then reload a save.

Frame rates are also, generally, very inconsistent during play. For example, as you rotate your view into new, unseen parts of the map, the frame rate chugs as elements in the map get shuffled around from disk to system memory to GPU memory. I have 20 GB of system memory and 2GB of video memory and do not have this problem on any other game in my library. Dropping down texture resolution from high to medium to low has zero effect on this issue. Turning off various rendering options also has no effect. For whatever reason, the game just flat out runs like ass.

Performance aside, the cover system is busy, and seems more like a point and click auto-pilot than a cover system. The simpler cover system of the preceding Deus Ex: Human Revolution just works so much better. And, would it really cause the development team to burst into tears to give me a crosshair? Maybe, I just missed the setting in the game configuration to turn it on, but I am too worn out trying to get this wreck of a port to be functional enough to continue futzing with it. Thankfully, I picked this up during the last Steam sale, so I am not out more than a few bucks. On the other hand, the time I wasted with this steaming pile, I will never get back.

MAIN GAME & 3 DLC

Yes, that's one playthrough of all THAT CAN BE PLAYED HERE,
the effect of deus ex on me,
strangely it's located on my storage space, there, there on drive #, WE ALL HAVE GAMES LIKE THAT...
only when i start to play....it ISN'T easy for me to put it down.

Addictive (I end up thinking...wait...i wanted to play something other than this...with AFFECT, I keep on).

-FPS,
-upgraded graphics over Human Revolution, (don't think in terms of game-play you're getting much different, NO),
-twists & turns a plot so thick an RPG, so intricate,
-mini map on screen, enlargeable inventory, ''YOUR FLAT'', different kinds of ammo, emp, armor penetrating, standard, weapon attachments
-places me & you in the position of imagining a world with handicapped people that were then ''upgraded'' or ''augmented'' (thinking the unthinkable, heartbreaking ACTUALLY), i thought of this that a person in that position wants to complete full action, then the desire to do so is gifted with THE ABILITY to do so, & if possible do so at ''FULL POWER'', or battery strength as you wish.
-The idea of a world with ''clank's'' made me imagine WHAT led to this calamity with SO MANY incapacitated, startling thought,
-none-the-less, the human spirit & it's desire to fulfill functions is highlighted,
-voice acting of a great quality,
-though i love Prague, & mostly any european setting what confused me was the choice of location for this game,
IN-GAMES, we're british, we're american, NOW every other NPC, ,has a CZECH accent
-the augmented abilities offer great opportunities for varied gameplay, your only limit is how many PRAXIS kit's it's possible for you to secure to upgrade those abilities,
-there's the multiplayer if you're that interested, by name of BREACH

https://store.steampowered.com/app/555450/Deus_Ex_Breach/

110% recommended.
i would love to replay @ least main campaign, OH YES, I noticed
NEW GAME +
in the menu so, considering that, WOW, to find the time :)
Having loved Human Revolution and this was sitting in my library from I don't humble bundle, sale, who knows felt like finally giving it a play in 2020 because the title felt appropriate. Story feels good, interesting new mechanics, graphics feel up to date.

However, I cannot recommend this game to anyone wishing to purchase it.

This game is still plagued with CTD bugs present from launch. Some of it may be from having an Nvidia card, so AMD may have less crashes, but I know at least 75% are in game crashes such as leaving a the shooting range still crashes the game because of inventory management issues. You can often type in when you crash and after enough sleuthing find old posts about these bugs/crashes.

On top of how much microtransactions were put into this game at release, it shows the publisher had its focus on cash and not on a quality product, and at this point this software is abandonware.

I will continue to push through to the end and if you want to play through the crashes and can get it cheap enough and this won't bother you it seems like a good (not great) sequel to HR. However, generally I wouldn't recommend it as there are plenty of other games out there in the world more worthy of your cash.

I'm going to give it a positive recommendation because the core gameplay underneath is basically more of the same of Deus Ex: Human Revolution. And I like that. HOWEVER. The optimization for this game is awful, I f u c k ing hated the amount of loading you had to choose to get to the two areas of Prague. I get that it's supposed to be seperated but there were times I would wait for 5 minutes to get loading into the next area to do a side quest or main quest objective....only to get told to go back to the first area, and when I fast travel via the subway stations I get this glitch where the previous interface lingers on my screen and it goes dark for a bit until I wait like a couple of minutes or go to the game map to fix it and in all Honestly I wish they would've made it just one f u c k ing area instead of two. And what in the actual f u c k is with the file size for this game. WHY IS IT THIS BIG?? I WANT TO KNOW!! It shouldn't be 73 GBs, and if it's rightfully 73 GBs then what does it cover? It feels like a lot of it should be smaller. And as for the story itself? It's ok, decent, much less interesting but still good. But the problem is as long as it was it didn't feel concise at all, it felt abrupt. The DLC integration is terrible IMO, the first was just a cut content quest they should've just kept in or stuck in to begin with and the second DLC you should've just been able to start from your TV at home. The best DLC was the Prison one, whereas the hacker one was just boring and I didn't care after about 20 minutes or less. It could've benefitted from a director's cut itself. Regardless the only thing that kept me going was that I loved Human Revolution and I wanted more of the same and on that end is the only reason I gave it a thumbs up. I'm sad this game is so poorly optimized as it is. I probably should've looked up to see if there was a patch to fix stuff up or find a way to lower the file size but jesus man. I guess the last thing I should mention is that there were microtransactions though I just said fuck it and played the game I wanted to, with cheats to avoid all of that (except where it didn't apply like infinite health and the like I didn't use).

Pros:
More of the same (Depending on the person)
Graphics are A1
DLCs weren't bad in itself

Cons:
More of the same (Depending on the person)
Poor optimization and glitches
Loading is atrocious
Huge file size
Less interesting/Abrupt Story
Microtransactions?
Should've had a director's cut

Frequent glitches and crashes. The game isn't broken to the point of being unplayable but it is quite annoying when random things suddenly stop working. Gameplay is fun once you figure it out, but it takes a lot of trial and error to figure out the game because they just throw you into the thick of it with a couple of bland tutorials that don't really give you a sense of how the game works.

Gameplay wise, Mankind Divided has some improvements, and it is a pretty good game overall.

However, there's two things that make me not recommend it (at least, not at full price). First, the minor one: the animations are really bad, especially in dialogue. Second, the major reason: the game has lots of crashing problems. I'm sure there might be a community fix out there, but I don't think a game should be judged in that way.

Wait for a sale if you're interested in this game.

Over all experience was good. The game left me with many questions about the lore, which were never answered. Gameplay was ok, controls took some time to get used to, but after that it was smooth. Story itself was very interesting and the choices i had to make, made me want to replay the game to see how they would affect the story. Side missions and their stories were sometimes more interesting that the main quest itself which can be taken two ways. For me, it made me want to explore every bit of the game to not miss out on other interesting lore pieces.
If you enjoy Deus Ex world and the setting, this game is very good.

Not as good as the first one. I battled through 38 hours of gameplay only to be stopped in my tracks by a game ending bug near the end of the game where my user interface just disappeared completely after a certain event happened and I could not bring up my inventory, map or quest objectives at all. Even after reloading, the same thing happened, so I gave up in disgust and uninstalled the game.

What's good?
- Well, it's improved graphically from the first game and doesn't have that somewhat irritating urine tinged sheen over everything.

What's bad?
Just about everything else.
- Buggier than the first game.
- Has microtransactions.
- The story doesn't really do anything to draw you in and hold your interest, unlike the first game. You find yourself working for a new employer, but with not much explanation of how you got there or all that's happened in the two years since the events of the first game. You're introduced to a whole bunch of new characters, but none of them are interesting since there's virtually no backstory to any of them or any background on why you are working with them in the first place.
- Like the first game, you're working for a multi-billion dollar organisation but for some weird reason, you're still forced to scrounge around everywhere for weapons, ammo, credit chips and other odds and ends since your employer seems incapable of equipping you properly.
- Gameplay seems more frustrating. Jensen's energy runs out more quickly, so you can't activate your special abiliies very often or use them for very long. Enemies are more numerous, more aggressive and swarm you very quickly, often forcing you into more stealth orientated gameplay, until they happen to spot you instantly from a mile away when you thought you were hidden, and then all hell breaks loose again. Ammo does not seem to be as plentiful as in the first game, and the few merchants that do sell it only have limited stock and it's always a mission to get to them to buy or sell stuff. Hacking is more difficult than in the first game, and you don't seem to find the codes to terminals (especially security terminals) very often. It seems the developers went all out to make the game more challenging than the first one, which is OK for some people, but I just found the gameplay less enjoyable than the first one.

Owing to the frustrating gameplay, I eventually gave up caring about how many times I died and just tried to soldier on in order to find out how the story ended. Unfortunately I never got the chance thanks to the game breaking bug I mentioned earlier.....

PLAY DEUS EX: HUMAN REVOLUTION BEFORE YOU PLAY THIS GAME

Obvious things aside, let's talk about the game.

Gameplay is an absolute blast. You can do so much in this game. You can be stealthy as heck, you can be a freaking tank and destroy everything, you can talk your way trough. Choice is yours and the game gives you so many options, it's beautiful.

Visual quality of the game is top-notch too. Well, maybe, not THAT good, but good nonetheless. Definitely a pleasure to see.

It terms of story, well... it starts off strong, but ends on a wimp. Main story is way too short, should've been longer. As far as I know, that's a publishers fault, not developers, but oh well. You can read on the internet about that.
Side quests are cool tho.

Optimization sucks to be honest. This game better be installed on SSD. On HDD - don't even bother, please. You don't want to see 3+ minutes loading screens. I mean, it's playable, yes. Could've been better though.

OST is magnificent. Enjoyed every second of it.

Well then... buy or not to buy, that is the question. And the answer is - buy. But on sale. Also buy Criminal Past DLC, it's pretty damn good.

Game is good, its Human Revolution but better, the only thing that it lacks compared to HR is better characters, the game ends in a cliff hanger, you made the illuminati fail in their attempt to segregate augs but thats it, waiting for the sequel.
Hacking is the same but i think there is a lot more now so up your hacking, the crafting system is implemented in a weird way since you need to at least buy 1 upgrade to be able to use it.
Sniper is useless after you find a rifle that is literally a sniper and only has AP rounds in the gulag, silencer halves the dmg of weapons so put it on a shotgun or a sniper, its useless on rifles, the Extra content you get is garbage since you cant collect enemy weapons for ammo.
Ammo is sometimes really scarce but other times abundant.
After exiting the gulag i never had problems with ammo.

The gameplay is tighter and more refined.
This game has a lot of political commentary that i think it fits with today narrative of Right X Wrong, and only you and some characters walk that line.

Its longer than the first one but its enjoyable so it will fell shorter :(

A lot of reviews for this are a bit too harsh, this is a great game. Even with the slighty weak and short main story there is still much to appreciate.

The amount of hubs really isn't an issue, Prague is a fair size and the amount of effort put into the world really makes it shine. Golem City is a little underused but is still done very well.

Awesome Deus Ex gameplay with lots of different options/styles to complete missions.

I actually enjoyed this more than Human Revolution.

Extremely underrated game that received lot of (justified) hate mostly because of greedy Square Enix’s marketing plans. Nowadays you can a) get it fairly cheap with all the DLCs (just ignore the obvious pay to win ones that would only ruin your experience) and b) play it without most of the horrible bugs that plagued it on release. In short: Better gameplay and atmosphere than Human Revolution, damn shame about the fact we might never get to see the sequel. Still, Mankind Divided gave me about 30 hours of unique fun so it’s definitely worth it.

Common misconceptions debunked:

1. The Prague hub sucks!
As a Czech myself, I have to agree that the devs could have tried harder and pay for some translators instead of using Google Translate. Funnily enough, ambient Czech dialogues are fine but signs/names suck real hard. What happened? BUT Even though there are undeniable errors, Prague hub is one of the most immersive game cities I’ve ever seen. Mind you, it’s not Prague but it’s a damn good Central Europe city that FEELS like it’s inhabited/daily used. Oh and all of the verticality, details and side quests. Truly wonderful.

2. Game is too short/cut!
When I read about Mankind Divided, I expected it to end after 10 hours but when I actually played it, it went on and on and on and it was still good! Sure, the ending is open because they were planning another game. Is it bad though? Not really and I even liked the final boss/final quest which wasn’t just about choosing one of four buttons but actually changed depending on how you approached the situation.

3. Game crashes/loads slowly!
I understand that this used to be a big problem. Nowadays I had Mankind Divided installed on SSD so my loadings were fine and encountered only two crashes + one major graphics bug that made me reset the game. Of course, could be better but it’s nothing that should stop you from buying it.

4. DLCs suck!
Hell naw! A Criminal Past and System Rift are well-crafted missions you shouldn't miss. Ignore the equipment packs and in-game store.

So yeah, 9/10 from me and I hope that we’ll get to see more of Adam Jensen. Get your stuff together, Squenix!

Deus Ex: The Credits is a decent game that I as a fan of the franchise cannot recommend.

+ the graphics are pretty damn good
+ seeing old characters and old plots resolved
+ the easter eggs in this game showing better games, like the original DX and DXHR

- STORE IN A SINGLE PLAYER GAME???
- very cringy 20 MINUTES long credits that you cannot skip
- ridiculously long loading screens
- game crashed a lot
- a very laggy experience at points
- tedious tasks (especially during martial law if you are doing side-missions)
- ZERO memorable characters and all of them come off as very unlikeable
- bad map design with a lot of repeating areas (building with two staircases and two apartments for each floor comes to mind)
- models being out of sync with their voice lines which would break immersion initially
- The tone of Millers voice was really flat, especially towards the end of the game, which would again break immersion
- sound problems and very weird channel setup - npcs sounding muffled while talking to you or extremely loud while being far away

Probably a lot more could come to mind, but don't think that would be necessary. As someone who liked the original and human revolution, this game just didn't feel right. I can't recommend it.

Wow, I'm surprised that it is hated by many. I thought it was really awesome.

+ Great Writting.
+ Whole story is so well made, the dialogues, the cutscenes are high quality. You can learn a lot through side quests and through reading mails, the storyline is full of great twists and always gripping. The story is quite revelant to real world too, maybe not yet, but possibly will be, it's not some fantasy, it is a serious story, contain many real life problems.
+ Fantastic level design. Lots of ways to approach most of locations. Easy to navigate in and memorable.
+ You can search a lot of appartments, not all, but many.
+ Impressive level design detail.
+ Lots of secrets everythere, you can find items in most corners, on most shelves, under most beds, behind most boxes. There are hidden items everythere.
+ Lots of easter eggs.
+ Awesome stealth.
+ Great soundtrack.
+ The saving system is as amazing as in HR, you have autosaves, you can do manual saves and quicksaves. You can't save while in combat, but that's a good thing for this game.
+ As mentioned before, the level design is amazing, but it is also quite open, so you can explore the environments. There are so much to explore.
+ A lot of content. If you want to beat all quests find all collectables and etc, this game will take you so much time. My first playthrough took me 163 hours.

- Game is so much unfun to control after playing Human Revolution, most U.I. designs are worse. Took me a good hour to get used to everything.
- Hacking icons design were much better in Human Revolution.
- Microtransactions.
- Pay to Win items dlcs.
- Glitches. You can get stuck in inventory, you can't quit it and get back to game. Also mouse may glitch out, it may go down if I hold it in place. Often I can't scroll down emails. There are tons of other annoying glitches.
- Failed questline. In one side mission there you need to get into underground casino, there are 3 ways to get inside. If you go through main entrance everything will be fine, you will talk to a man and the questline will proceed with few more quests. But if you go through other two ways you will fail the whole questline without knowing it, the guards will shoot and the man will dissappear, your current quest won't fail, so you won't even notice that you failed questline, you won't receive 2 more side missions... That is a very bad design.
- The very last section of game felt very rushed. It gave you an illusion of choice. Also the level design had many tracks which would connect areas, but most of them are barged, which makes only one way to proceed. In my threory they planned may ways approach the end of game, but maybe didn't had enough time or budget, or didn't like the other ways, so they had to close all alternative and force one way only.

I really enjoyed Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and I thought I would enjoy Deus Ex Mankind Divided the same, but this one has many problems when it comes to performance. I managed to make it run good after watching like 3 guides on Youtube of how to make it run better. But to be honest, the game seemed pretty short. Hell, even Human Revolution, from what I remember, was longer.
But I said to myself that I would buy this one as well, and so I did. I did regret when I bought it and I saw how poorly the performance was, but in the end I still enjoyed it.

So yeah, really cool game, definitely try it out (if you have a good PC)

Bought it when it was on sale for like 5 bucks. Graphics are solid and the story and voice acting are pretty well done. My only complaint would that I felt it was a little short. Only took me around 25 hours to complete and I felt like I did alot of the side missions.

Gameplay wise Mankind Divided is leagues better than Human Revolution. Almost every aspect of Human Evolution is improved upon and perfected in this game. If you're not someone who's into stealth like I am; Mankind Divided's gameplay will familiarize you with stealth quite easily while also giving you plenty of other options to complete a mission. It has a slow start but after you start warming up to it; you'll get so hooked that you'd probably want to start another campaign after completing your first to figure out and play all the possible gameplay scenarios of every mission.

I think the main problem most people would have with this game is be the story. It's one of the main reasons why people love Human Revolution so much, it offers a compelling narrative filled with mysteries and twists. The problem with Mankind Divided is that its story is intriguing to begin with; but leaves you confused in the end with lots of questions unanswered. This was supposed to be a cliffhanger of a setting for the next game in the franchise; but unfortunately Square Enix announced that due to poor sales; the development of the next installment in the Deus Ex franchise will be halted indefinitely. So if you haven't bought this game yet; do not buy it until its sequel is announced because by then you'd probably forget a lot of the story anyway.

Oh yeah and half an hour of unskippable credits? Really?
Still a great game, though.

Absolutely fantastic RPG. I'd put this in my top 5 for favorite RPGs/Futuristic games. When it first launched, it ran like absolute dog shit. It seems to have been polished up now. I played through the story mode trying to do every single mission and explore everything on the hardest difficulty and got around 30 hours out of it, before New Game + (which I'm currently starting). While it's not Assassin's Creed Odyssey long, the story and the gameplay will keep you hooked to the end, especially if you're someone that enjoys immersion and freedom of choice.

Hugely disappointing ending, mediocre gameplay. Story ends without answering any of questions it raises.

The best Deus Ex made by Eidos Montreal in the wake of the best immersive sim ever made - the original Deus Ex by Ion Storm.

Mankind Divided doubles down on emergent gameplay, and is visually stunning to boot. 2017's Prey is very much analogous to DX:MD in its approach to gameplay and secrets; a lick of out of the box thinking allows you to satisfyingly maneuver around this dystopic world.

This new breed of immersive sim relishes in player freedom, and doesn't seek to hold your hand. Every secret unveiled is utterly satisfying, every non-lethal venture as dangerous as it is rewarding.

While the story as a whole is debatably less grand and encompassing than its predecessor, the side-stories and improvements in other areas more than makes up for this deficit. When investing the time to explore the city of Prague and interact with its population, the games' length is certainly on par to Human Revolution.

This trilogy *needs* to be completed. This genre's blend of roleplaying and action is unrivalled, and has yet to prove unsatisfying.
