Dieses Spiel ist etwas sehr besonderes. Es ermöglicht ein Spielerlebnis welches Seinesgleichen sucht.

Man spielt einen amerikanischen Elitescharfschützen welcher permanent 4 Promille inne haben muss. Er schafft es, dass die Kugeln bereits im Lauf der Waffe ihre Richtung zu ändern scheinen. Der Gesundheitszustand des zu spielenden Soldaten ist durch den immensen Alkoholkonsum schon so sehr beeinträchtigt, dass der Höhstpuls des Soldaten bei 120 Schlägen pro Minute liegt. Sind diese erreicht fehlt dem Soldaten auch schon jede Kraft um eventuell nötige Tätigkeiten durchzuführen. Durch die Permatrunkenheit des Elitesoldaten ist es diesem auch nicht möglich irgendeinen deutschen Soldaten im Nahkampf zu schlagen. Aber das ist ja auch nicht so wichtig, da die Deutschen eh alle so Taub sind wie ein Ziegelstein, und ob man überhaupt wirklich gegen Deutsche kämpft ist fragwürdig. Zwar nutzen sie deutsches Kriegsgerät und tragen deutsche Uniformen, allerdings wehen überall schwarz weis rote Palmenflaggen und die sogenannten Deutschen reden Spanisch.

Im Großen und Ganzen würde ich jedem empfehlen dieses Spiel aus seinem Leben zu entfernen und es nie wieder in irgendeiner Art und Weise zurück zu holen.

Spiel macht Spaß. Nette Storymodus die ca. 15-20h dauert.
Anfang des Spiels ist es sehr gut dargestellt jedoch gegen Ende verflacht alles und ist etwas kurz gehalten.
Unrealistisch ist, dass die Gegner nach Alarm wieder ganz schnell in normal Modus agieren und auf dem Boden liegende Männer ignorieren. Mühsam alle Kriegsdokumente aufzusuchen.

Im ganzen für den Preis eine Kaufempfehlung.

Wer Sniper Games liebt wird hier mit genau das richtige finden. Eine mehr oder weniger gute Story und taktisches schießen. Wie die anderen Teile auch, mehr als spielenswert! Der Multiplayer bockt auch gut aber am besten finde ich, dass man die Story im Coop durch zocken kann.

Eigentlich ein tolles Spiel, aber leider im Coop Modus nicht so toll. Wenn einer, warum auch immer, aus dem Spiel fliegt, muss man die Mission wieder von ganz vorne anfangen. Das ist leider sehr frustrierend.

I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone!
Sure, it's fun to play but with an average of 1 hour per mission and 8 missions in total (DLCs not included) the game is just waaaaaay overpriced (currently around 30€).
I made a playthrough twice, one time solo and one time in coop, thats why I have the ~16 hours of gametime.

Take it as an average review. Whilst the production and game play is quite good, the sheer amount of expensive DLC and price point really sticks it to you.

Whilst the sniping is more of the same, the greater problem in going open world reveals itself that most of the time you're simply much better off wandering around capping enemies with a silenced pistol than doing any clever sniping. It's nice to have some new levels in WW2 that aren't the classic brown/grey though. Lots of details on maps etc. Story is average at best and pretty bland.

If you can get it on a real heavy discount you'll get some fun out of it by all means. If you skipped this and went straight to the newer sniper elites, you wouldn't miss anything.

Sniper Elite III is clearly the best game in the series. Anyone who enjoys a good tactical shooter, especially those with an affinity for the long-range kill, would do well to check it out. Game can be a bit boring after a while since the game is pretty repetetive, but it didn't bother me. Multiplayer mode is also amazing. This game is a must get.

After buying SE2 on sale a few years ago which I enjoyed since it was my first game the story in that game was very good because it was about the V2 rocket the Germans had made/where making in WWII. So I was stoked to see SE3 was coming out but I waited because I wasn't a fan of the Season Pass as I hate SP's its not worth it personally unless it's dead cheap, Its content pulled from the game and sold for more cash simple, then it was the Rifles DLC which I got all for SE2 but when they were on sale which again I would do for SE3 but I haven't because SE3 is very very boring.

Apart from the different settings nothing has really changed except enemy A.I is dumb and broken now not once did I ever get a crash not that I can recall, but compared to V2 in V3 they seem to see/hear you easily they don't seem to die with the perfect head shot many a time I've had a perfect between the eyes shot and its just hit them like it's hit their helmet.

Maps seem tight in places and wide areas just really make the level tedious yes there was wide areas in 2 but not as large as this game has, performance for the game is up and down doesn't feel optimised either I still get stuttering even on HIGH settings with some tweaks basically same settings as V2 but this game runs worse. Nothing really seems different compared to the 2nd game I think apart from setting and the last boss speaking of bosses you'll be facing a lot of tanks which now need a few shots in the vents to destory they must have learned from the previous game the enemy and decided to put the easy shot kill behind more metal.

Gameplay very unrealistic tho, i literally kill 20 people, and 10 seconds later everything is ok again

This is a great game. Beautiful, thoughtfully put together, authentic looking, with well designed missions/levels. It gives you the option of stealth or full bore assault with the legitimate risk that each method entails. Trying to sneak up to take your enemies out can be both satisfying and very dangerous as it puts your character well within the killing zone of your enemies when/if you are spotted.

Things that bug me:
Ammo is divided into categories: pistol, SMG, and rifle and the fact that the MP40, STEN Mk. II, and P-08 all fired the exact same 9mm Parabellum cartridge is not reflected in the game. Almost all the rifles available in the game actually shot different ammunition that, though mostly similar in capability, (range, ballistics, damage) were most definitely not interchangeable.
No zero for your rifle, meaning, your rifle is not zeroed for any specific distance. Your bullet drop begins as if the rifle scope is set for zero yards.
Ballistics are severely exaggerated. Actual bullet drops should be in increments of inches, especially for the distances (for the most part) portrayed in the game. The game makes the drops in feet, or even yards (!) instead of inches. I think they used the actual ballistics of a bow and arrow vice a battle rifle.
Turrets on tanks and armored vehicles all had a specific traverse speed dictated by the electric motor that runs it and/or the hand crank that the crew used. All armored vehicles in Sniper Elite III have a near instantaneous traverse speed that is over the top unrealistic. They also seem to have eyes in the back of their head/turret when in reality they were pretty blind especially when buttoned up. That said, when you are spotted, they can be the most dangerous thing you face. The fact that they have specific vulnerabilities to rifle fire is also unrealistic.
You pretty much can’t go prone unless you’re on a flat surface. If you go prone on a slope, your guy immediately pops back up to kneeling.
This is a third person shooter, which I usually don’t like, but I don’t mind it at all in this series of games. One problem though is that you are always looking over your right shoulder so if you are trying to clear a corner to your left, then you can’t see your target as quickly as your enemy sees you. So, it is much more dangerous to clear to the left than the right as your character blocks you, the player’s vision.
I’m always low on grenades and even when you search a dead German who has a grenade sticking out of his belt, you don’t get one. I guess they’re cosmetic.
Don’t waste your time trying to pick up a body and hide it. Apparently you are supremely noisy and everyone will hear you lugging the body. As there is no way to do it quietly, better to just let it sit there.

Right:
SMG ammunition you pick up off the battlefield will only work if you are carrying an MP40 implying that the magazines you find are only MP40 magazines. This does not work for your sniper rifle, whatever it may be. All rifle ammunition you pick up will work with your rifle—handy, but not at all realistic. All pistol ammunition is interchangeable even though the Webley Mk. IV pistol shot a completely different cartridge (.45 caliber).
The weapons reflect actual WWII weapons, though the availability of a Japanese Rifle in North Africa is questionable.
The weapons in the game are all authentic and rendered with detail. Except the pistols which are accurately modeled but oversized.

An amazing game about a Sniper and his story in North Africa during World War II.

Although it is a game from 2014, I am happy to experience this game and I am in favor of the continuation of the next Sniper series. The feeling of slow motion beats gives you the feeling of having romantic moments with a girl you like.

If you're a Sniper fan, there's no reason not to like it.

It's very hard to kill people with anything but a sniper rifle. Makes using any weapon that isn't a sniper rifle a huge drag- which surprisingly you have to use non-sniper rifle weapons a lot. You only get to really use a sniper rifle when you get a noise maker (unless you don't mind alerting the entire map when you take one shot). wish you got a silenced sniper rifle early on. Not a fan of having to sprint around taking out 90% of the enemies with a silenced pistol or snapping their necks melee, i want to snipe them not james bond them. Its fun for the slo-mo x-ray kills. But that's the only reason to play it imo. Expect lots of sprinting around doing splinter cell stuff instead of sniping for the campaign.

I would recommend trying out Sniper Elite 4 first if you haven't already. This is basically a less polished and smooth version of it. But still Sniper Elite 3 is a good experience. Its worth playing both if you want to become a true Sniper ╾━╤デ╦︻(˙ ͜ʟ˙ )

They really made this game without caring about anything at all. Sniping half of the time is about getting RNGs right. Sometimes your headshots doesn't kill or sound-mask doesn't work. Sometimes enemies hear you when you drop from somewhere, and sometimes they don't.
Enemies can hear you walking when they are at watch tower and you are at underground. Enemies use snipers and pistols as machine gun with pin-point accuracy from 100m away.
Every mission ends with you destroying a tank and guess the final mission now: You snipe high-priority target in a dangerous secret area? NO. YOU DESTROY ANOTHER GIANT TANK!!

Get SE4. It is much better

I played Sniper Elite 4 before this one. And to go back to an older game is always risky, because many things they improved in SE4 were critiques in SE3.
The gameplay doesn't feel as smooth as in SE4, but it was a lot of fun playing it. Story is interesting and the maps are interesting.
The weapon variety is very limited, but you can a season-pass-key for cheap and get a lot of weapons this way.

SE4 was good and so is SE3. If you haven't played any of the two, I'd still recommend starting with SE4.

Looking out for SE5 :)

Played Sniper Elite 2 and thought that game was amazing in terms of combat and story. I was greatly disappointed with Sniper Elite 3 compared to 2. The story was not very memorable and the game felt way too easy.

Sniper Predator. Totally worth it.

Lovely if not one of the best games, though unpolished.
Great gameplay, variety, playstyles, can go full stealth or whatnot, else happens.
Does not hold your hand. Long missions and world if you want, revealing things and objectives by yourself.
Great tactical laid-back joypad game you can dive in, steam controller.

I was never good at stealth (in general) or timing my shots, but this game is super fun to play .. or you can go in with guns blazing and throwing dynamite around if you want. I usually fall into the latter.. lol. :-)

Graphics:
Very, very good.. especially considering it is using the Mantle/Vulkan API so graphics are smooth even with details turned up. Everything has a nice, crisp detail to it with lot's of smaller details that make for some nice touches. You really do feel like you are in Africa.

Sound:
No music except for menu screens or action interludes. The lead character voice is super cool (me thinks); he has voiced all the Sniper Elites I believe. No complaints here.

Gameplay:
If you like detailed, technical.. stealth with a WW2 feel this game is for you. It is super fun and delivers what it intends in terms of old war gaming mechanics absolutely in spades. Recommended!

Played the game when it first came out on a friends account and didn't think much of it.
Then i decided to buy the bundle of all the games together. Its a good game, a few parts of the game are not realistic as walking in bushes up to someone basically right in front of them, then being able to either walk around and sneak attack or shooting them point blank with the pistol.
But other then that, so far its an enjoyable game, not finished yet but looking forward to completing the game.
Downside...The pistol is a gods gift for sneak attack, but i NEVER get pistol ammo from any corpses.

Played this game in co-op with a friend, including all DLCs. While the game and DLCs are great and I liked most - if not all - mechanics, when it comes to the singleplayer campaign, the game suffers from bad balancing. Playing on Cadet (the easiest difficulty) allows you to just go through all enemies and take all kinds of shots (including armoured car ones) with no sweat. However, when playing on Authentic (the hardest difficulty), just forget about playing stealth, go full blaze and glory and just cover properly, it is much easier. In my opinion, it should be the other way around: proper stealth & hitman approach should make the game easier - it is a sniping game afterall.

The game also has one quite annoying bug: when you use zoom, there is no indicator (on any difficulty) that your line of shot is obscured by an obstacle that you don't see because of the scope. Because of this, all kind of fences became my demise many times.

Achievement hunters should also be aware of the fact that for 100% completion you need to complete the campaign on every difficulty at least once. Which is a highly annoying waste of time, because after completing the game on middle difficulties and Authentic I still had to replay the whole campaign on Cadet (the easiest) just for the sake of an achievement.

Overall, I recommend playing the game in co-op with a friend. It was a lot of fun and we will be playing more from the series.

I can just barely recommend this if you like sniper games in general. Get it on a sale. The bulletcam thing is just very satisfying in this game, compared to any other game that does this, like the entire sniper ghost warrior series.

The coop is a buggy mess. We had many issues like a single shot registering 2 times and blowing our cover, loading checkpoints sometimes kicks a player from the lobby forcing the map to be restarted from scratch, and we had some freezes/black screens which forced a game restart.

There are also a few cases of enemies shooting/seeing the player through walls, mostly when an NPC is below or above the player.

The game starts out decently fun, sneaking with a welrod is alright and sniping is fun for the first couple of ten kills, but as I went on I noticed so many annoying and awfully designed things that I ultimately ended up just hating the game

While sneaking, there is never a point to hiding bodies, because you can only hide bodies while walking which first of all makes you very visible but also lets out the same amount of noise as running, meaning you'll just most likely get spotted. Secondly it doesn't matter at all if enemies find a corpse. Nobody raises an alarm, warns others or anything, they just go to cautious state themselves, which means practically nothing

There is little point to masking your shots noise with generators or overpassing planes other than wanting to perfect stealth yourself, because even if you shoot someone from perfect silence, the enemies seek cover and your relocation meter fills halfway, which means nothing. If you shoot again, they know where you are, which is when they stay in cover, some might try to walk the most straight line towards you to find you. Now if you shoot the third time, people will start firing on you, which for the most part just made them easier to find for sniping. BUT, if you shoot only twice, and then move from your location, you get Relocated, which means enemies return to standby mode as if nothing ever happened, they won't come to your previous location, they won't hide, raise alarm, they will just return to duties as if it was any calm day. At this point you can start taking shots again and repeat the process

That also brings me to one good and bad side of the game which is mines, you'd think it'd be fun to cover your back with some trip mines and infantry mines, and it is, but it's pointless when the enemies barely ever walk into them, they just sit in cover, maybe some random one guy might walk into a trip mine and those have been some of the most fun things in the game for me. Wish there was more point to them but almost every time i mine the entrances to a sniper nest i just collect every single one of them back after i'm done shooting up the whole place because nobody even tried to get me

In the mid-to-later missions the game started to just spawn enemies behind me and in places i had cleared for the sake of having more enemies I suppose. They are clearly not randomly patrolling enemies, because they just appear immediately in a new objective somewhere in a past area, and they only roam around that specific small spot. The worst of this one was when the game just spawned a sniper on a ledge behind me immediately when i unlocked a new objective, which caused me to immediately get spotted and shot down. I reloaded, went to where I got sniped from and he wasn't anywhere to be seen, but it happened immediately again when I went for the objective. It's blatant and cheap.

Now what ultimately made me uninstall the game was when I realized how awfully the game's detection system is made. I was sneaking in a bunker but got noticed, my bad, sure, but when I was relocating, someone above the bunker threw a grenade on top of the bunker, I thought he was an idiot but turns out they managed to figure I threw the grenade, and from the explosion they figured out perfectly where I was walking, and they kept doing this so I couldn't relocate at all. Just because they kept throwing grenades and used them to echo locate me perfectly from above the bunker, when I was inside of the bunker

TL;DR: It could be so fucking good, but it's so fucking bad

No slow motion in COOP (might as well not play coop at this point). Experienced some bugs (getting stuck in textures) in a 10-hours game.
Why are so many guns unlockable with only DLCs? That is too many weapons.

This game is fun so far.

You have the options to play single-player or multiplayer. There's also an option to practice at the shooting range but why I would do that when I have my friends' balls in hind sight.

I'll probably update this review when I get to playing more.

10/10 - would recommend if you like sniping people in the balls

Sub-par tbh. The sound mechanic was tedious and often resulted in the player having to simply wait a lot of the time to be stealthy. The AI is bad even on the highest difficulty and the lack of compelling bonus features is disappointing. There are good things about this game though, the bullet drop mechanic is refreshing and the game does a very good job of encouraging the player to approach situations methodically like a sniper should. Overall, this is a 4/10 stealth shooter imo.

Short, but good game. Really nice maps. Story is ok, nothing super special but typical. Still game gives fun, shooting is nice. In few places enemies teleported in missions, and thats it. Overall advised to buy for big discount.

Sniping is always satisfying af.
Unfortunately the story is short but the gameplay is really good.
No bugs or glitches for me.
Works perfectly smooth on 2k ultra or even 4k ultra with good graphics.

I wish I could leave a positive review, but I didn’t enjoy playing Sniper Elite 3.

My main problem is the movement. The character moves so weirdly and feels extremely stiff. I know, this is a sniping game, but controlling a dude that walks like the Bishop’s in chess, is simply horrible. It goes on your nerves and gives you the feeling of playing a poorly developed game.

Other than that, the graphics are fine and the slow motions when shooting an enemy are awesome.

I also appreciated that you could play the whole game in Coop (this is probably the best thing about the game).

Nevertheless, there is no real story and the campaign is very short.

Last but not least, this game won’t let you snipe… For real. There aren’t enough possibilities to be really far away and once you got on a high place, all the enemies will try to rush up to your point. This leads to always shooting most of the enemies from a short distance. Pretty annoying, for a “Sniper Game”.

I don’t recommend buying Sniper Elite 3. I personally preferred Sniper Elite 2 because of its story and its setting.

Really fun, as all the Sniper Elite games are! I really like the entire franchise! This one is nothing different, they remade the entire X-Ray system from the first Sniper Elite V2 and Zombie Army 1, 2 and Trilogy. In this game the X-Ray is a little more detailed and advanced, the overall feel of the game is different aswell, in a good way.
There's smoother animations compaired to previous games so if you like Rebellions previous titles of Sniper Elite. You'll like this one aswell, no doubt!

1. Graphics 9/10 (Sniper Elite III is a specialized game for sniper shooter type. Perhaps, the game will not present a complex story, but an alternative narrative about games based on the WWII (the game unfolds with the Afrika Korps.). With the character, you carry out tasks of infiltration, information retrieval and murder of some antagonists of the game. You‘ll be in the role of a sniper. We cannot forget the quality of the graphics for each scenario. Each location in the game displays numerous details of the objects. Excellent lighting changes, special effects of distance shots, effects on the damage of some vital organ, effect of the trajectory of the bullet. You‘ll be able to contemplate the landscapes of each scenario and make decisions (in the highest difficulties) to fulfill the tasks of the mission. A game that can be stealth or action mission. That is up to each player!)

2. Playability 9/10 (The game poses the question of how to play it. Or, how to be a sniper? Perhaps, in shooter action games, the task is simple: complete a certain mission and fight your way to the objective through the skill of shooting. Although, we don't expect a complex soundtrack either; but a delight for those who love action and epic music. It is important to underline the absence of the soundtrack in the game. The idea of the game consists not only in the visual consideration of the environment, but also the consideration of the environmental sounds that may affect the sniper's decisions. The sound of the footsteps, the engine of vehicle, the voices and murmurs of the enemies, are some factors that affect the decision of our character. Thus, the ambient sound dominates the soundtrack of the game. Not bad for a sniper shooting game!)

4. Duration 9/10 (The duration of the game at first glance seems short. [spoiler]It doesn't have many campaigns. The reward of the duration is the perseverance and patience of reaching the checkpoints before finishing the task of a certain mission[/spoiler]. Depending on the player's decisions, each campaign can be long or short. Everything will depend on the player's decisions and the position he will take during the task: whether to be like a sniper or a more action shooter.)

The game has a sense of uniqueness, but soon after starting playing it, you realise it gets pretty repetitive and in some way boring. Even though each mission is distinct in some way or another, it's still not enough to keep your interest for a long time. After all, the game is decent.

Bought the game on sale after playing Sniper Elite 4 so I wasn't expecting to play it through, wasn't even expecting to like it much and I knew the graphics would be dated as well as the game itself. So why even bother I thought before purchasing. But it was on sale for something like 8.00 us. and I'm glad I did because #1 I like stealth and I like sniper games, #2 the game really surprised me but I guess that's what happens when you set your expectations low and the game turns out to be decent which Sniper Elite 3 is. Everything in the game was more than acceptable for me from a 2014 game in 2020. Graphics, stealth, weapons, aiming all get good marks. Story is meh but passable and of course the game is a bit clunky but I'm sure you expect that for the games age and price. I did not play any multi-player nor was I looking to do so. I don't think I need to tell you I liked SE 4 better but I'd buy this one again if I knew what I know now. I play on Windows 10 with a i7 8700 / RTX 2070 and the game ran smooth with no ctd's. This one goes in the positive column for me.

Sniper Elite 3 Review

Good things:

It is the third game in the series and it is an ok sniper game and sadly not as good as Sniper Elite V2 or Sniper Elite 4. The story in the game is good as you are in North Africa during World War II and your enemy is famous Nazi German Afrika Korps. The good thing is that maps are big. There are many different collectibles and they make you more immersed in the game as you read many letters that show how different many of the Nazi soldiers were, some were fanatics 100% believing in Hitler others were just kids that were drafted and didn’t want to go to war, others joined the war to make their parents proud etc. These collectibles makes the game world feel more alive and immersive.The graphic is good and the gameplay is great. The sound is also great for all weapons and everything. Enemy AI is good and enemies try to group on you and flank and storm your position to flush you out and kill you.New good thing is that at the start of each mission you can pick what weapons you take with you and you can even make 4 sets for different opportunities.

Bad things:

Camera track the bullet to see where we did hit the enemy and also shows x-rays to show us what bones and/or organs we did hit but in this part of Sniper Elite it looks more like a joke. Each shot that hits is more like a small missile or grenade than a bullet. If you hit enemy in the eye he loss half of his skull, if you hit him in the side of his head he lose all bones in his face, if you hit enemy in the back of his head he lost almost whole skull. It just breaks immersion because your bullets act in x-ray shots more like missiles but even if enemy lose half of his skull in x-ray shots his body is still unaffected. There are collectibles in this game but they are the problem and that is because of the worst thing in this game and that is disappearing bodies. Yes you heard me right - disappearing bodies. And because of that you want to sneak the whole game and use gun more than a rifle so you can kill 1-2 enemies silently and search their bodies to find all collectibles. If you kill many enemies there is a chance some of the bodies will disappear or if you save and load the game it can also make some bodies disappear and because of that if you want to find all collectibles that mostly are carried by enemies you don’t want to use sniper nest ever so instead of playing like a sniper you feel like you are playing a guy that is sneaking everywhere and mostly using his silenced gun to take out 1-2 enemies and then loot their bodies to make sure you won’t lose anything if they disappear.

Conclusion

If you want to play a game where you can be a real sniper you must forget about getting all collectibles. If you want all collectibles you must play more like a sneaky guy with a silenced gun than a sniper with a rifle because bodies in this game disappear and most collectibles are on the bodies.

Rating: 7/10

Sniper Elite 3 is a third person tactical sniper game. As a sequel it improves in many ways.

The gameplay is slower than most action games prioritizing stealth and careful planning to proceed. The wind, gravity and your stamina affect your shots (on harder difficulties) and you get the satisfying X-Ray Kill Cam. Stealthing involves throwing rocks to distract your enemies, carrying their bodies, sabotaging generators that generate noise to mask your rifle shots. Compared to the previous title, health doesn't regenerate fully, now you use bandages and medkits and you can get a semi-auto pistol (paid DLC) to make stealthing easier. Snipers can now be modified with different parts to improve some stats and reduce others. These parts are unlocked by doing challenges.

You can play the campaign fully co-op making it easier to revive your partner with 60 seconds of bleed out instead of restarting your last checkpoint in single player. Compared to Sniper Elite 2, mission objectives can now be approached from more paths. There are additional missions (paid DLC) where in one of them you can kill Hilter in seven different ways. The fun Overwatch co-op mode is here again where the spotter marks enemies and completes the objective while the sniper covers him a vantage point. My only nitpick is the enemies being able to see you through some walls, but that was only on the hardest difficulty on mission 5 Siwa Oasis.

For achievement hunters:
You'll have to complete the campaign in co-op, on Authentic difficulty with all the collectibles. Lots of challenges and PvP to grind. Paid DLCs are required.

Very hard game to play or to beat. But is still one of the best games I bought. It is worth the money and the best part is no bugs and I have never had it crash on me.

Sniper Elite 3 expands the boundaries of the series in many ways. Understanding how to remain stealth has never been easier thanks to the cleverly integrated user interface and audio cue systems. I believe that things like heart beats per minute recover at a faster rate than in previous games. However, the campaign is definitely one of the most challenging in the series because you have to navigate much larger terrains. Completing every optional mission and finding all hidden collectibles creates a lot of replay value for the truly hardcore snipers. During my playthrough, I was very impressed with how complex and connected the tasks in each mission felt as they built up to the grand finale. There is some weapon customization and a few new support items that advance the mechanics. If you are looking for a sharpshooting experience that is easy to understand but hard to master, then this is your shot. Game on.

Had Sniper Elite 3 on my wishlist for years. Finally played it, and what a disappointment. Generic enemies, generic missions, generic stealth. In a word: boring. Skip Sniper Elite 3 and play something else.
Total size on my hard-drive: 27GB

- Repetitive. Every mission is the same. Even bosses (always a tank) present the same challengewhen they appear: shoot vents and / or panels off to expose the fuel tank, then hit the fuel tank to blow everything up. One tank is a Mark III, one a Mark IV, and another is a Tiger I. Same challenge.

- Boring. If you play as intended (sneak around, cloak your shots by timing them with surrounding noise) with a modicum of patience, game is boring. There are numerous ‘safe zones’ within each area that the enemies never patrol, so you can turtle-up, chill, and pick them off one by one. If you screw up, and the enemies hear the sound of your shot, they’ll come and get you, right? Nope. They’ll search, but after a minute or so, they’ll go back to their duties. You’re in a ‘safe zone’ that they don’t patrol. Read the news on your phone or something while the search timer counts down, you’ve nothing to worry about.

- Boring. So you get tired of “playing as intended” and decide to run-and-gun a bit more. Sure you’ll get spotted, but if you successfully relocate, the enemies will still look for you, but they won’t find you. So being more aggressive doesn’t result more engaging gameplay. You can even snipe an enemy, relocate, snipe another enemy from the new location, relocate back to your first position, snipe another enemy from there, see-sawing back and forth between two positions, methodically clearing the map. Enemies will never come after you because you relocated after each shot.

- Boring. So, fed up with the first two ways to play, f-- it, let’s just play it as a cover-based 3rd person shooter. This is where Sniper Elite 3 actually becomes kind of fun, since you HAVE to change position, take enemies by surprise by circling around while they’re actively looking for you. Or you could just exploit the easiest way to win: get up in a tower / sniper nest with only one access route. Snipe enemies to your heart’s content, and when they start climbing the ladder to come get you, pick them off one by one with your secondary weapon.

So, yeah, Sniper Elite 3 is boring, if you hadn’t guessed. Not worth the $10 I spent to get it. 4/10 because it ran well enough for me (which apparently makes me one of the lucky ones) despite its failings.

Good things:

It is the third game in the series and it is an ok sniper game and sadly not as good as Sniper Elite V2 or Sniper Elite 4. The story in the game is good as you are in North Africa during World War II and your enemy is famous Nazi German Afrika Korps. The good thing is that maps are big. There are many different collectibles and they make you more immersed in the game as you read many letters that show how different many of the Nazi soldiers were, some were fanatics 100% believing in Hitler others were just kids that were drafted and didn’t want to go to war, others joined the war to make their parents proud etc. These collectibles makes the game world feel more alive and immersive.

The graphic is good and the gameplay is great. The sound is also great for all weapons and everything. Enemy AI is good and enemies try to group on you and flank and storm your position to flush you out and kill you.

New good thing is that at the start of each mission you can pick what weapons you take with you and you can even make 4 sets for different opportunities.

Bad things:

Camera track the bullet to see where we did hit the enemy and also shows x-rays to show us what bones and/or organs we did hit but in this part of Sniper Elite it looks more like a joke. Each shot that hits is more like a small missile or grenade than a bullet. If you hit enemy in the eye he loss half of his skull, if you hit him in the side of his head he lose all bones in his face, if you hit enemy in the back of his head he lost almost whole skull. It just breaks immersion because your bullets act in x-ray shots more like missiles but even if enemy lose half of his skull in x-ray shots his body is still unaffected.

There are collectibles in this game but they are the problem and that is because of the worst thing in this game and that is disappearing bodies. Yes you heard me right - disappearing bodies. And because of that you want to sneak the whole game and use gun more than a rifle so you can kill 1-2 enemies silently and search their bodies to find all collectibles. If you kill many enemies there is a chance some of the bodies will disappear or if you save and load the game it can also make some bodies disappear and because of that if you want to find all collectibles that mostly are carried by enemies you don’t want to use sniper nest ever so instead of playing like a sniper you feel like you are playing a guy that is sneaking everywhere and mostly using his silenced gun to take out 1-2 enemies and then loot their bodies to make sure you won’t lose anything if they disappear.

In a lot of ways, this game feels like it took several steps backwards compared to Sniper Elite V2. In that game, I actually felt like I was sniping, while here, I never feel like I'm at any sort of distance where my rifle's actually the best option, or even if I am, there's rarely a pentalty in just sneaking around until you walk up behind someone with your Welrod. V2 also had this problem to an extent, but it's turned up to 11 here. If the game feels like it'd be 10 times easier if you just had a surpressed sub machine gun instead of your sniper rifle, then the title 'Sniper Elite' feels very misleading, while in V2, while a silenced sub machine gun would be nice, that niche is generally filled by your Welrod, while your rifle does all of the heavy lifting, but here, the rifle feels very much out of it's element.

Compared to Sniper Elite 2, this game improves the gameplay. For one, the levels being more open allows you to play the role of a more mobile sniper, keeping the enemies guessing and making come up with a plan on how to approach the situation. Pick a few off, relocate; rinse and repeat! Really enjoyed the customization as well that affect things such as bullet velocity or what your sights look like. The game is open for how you want to get things done; for example, if you wanna take a tank head on and snipe its weakspots and relocate, you are more than welcome to do that. What's even more satisfying is laying traps and luring that tank into a trap. All in all, highly recommended; way way way much improved than sniper elite 2. Only cons is there are some questionable invisible walls you can't crouch by yet can prone by (I'm looking at you Factory level). Other than that, really enjoyed playing this game.

Good game, don't expect to shoot everyone and every time have to stealth all the time. The story is good i liked it and i never saw the use of throwables like flint and rock but grenade is too good when you don't want to be stealth. I've really never seen any game that the character runs this fast. The sound mask thing is my favourite, and the bullet time oh man never gets old!.

Great game, but you need to be careful as the saved game system is broken and you might have to restart an entire level. Sometimes a saved game can be so broken you will have to restart the entire campaign.

Sniping is peak performance. Everything else is cancer. Can't the game just be sniping?

It's not fun to play the game when you not sniping, and it's only fun when you are sniping.

Too bad you don't do much sniping imo.

It's fun for a few hours and then feels very repetitive and not much variation on objectives.
It's a gimicky kind of game.

I don't feel like a sniper as most of the time is just sneaking around to stealth kill with a knife as you don't have a silencer on your sniper rifle and can't always use it if you don't want to be heard.
It's alright if all you want to do is kill people and not care about a story or any depth.

This isn't my kind of game and just feel sick of playing it, not going to bore myself to death by forcing myself to keep playing to complete it, I'd rather spend my time playing something that is actually fun so can't recommend.

Outstanding Game! I just love playing this game and the passion and detail put into it is why this game is second to only Sniper Elite 4. Story line is great and feels well made. Buy this game if you like sniping, playing rouge, such games. Worth it if on sale. Also, great in co-op mode!
