Feature Overview

Story

Enter the world of Interia and save it from being thrown into darkness.
Defeat hordes of enemies, from foot soldiers to mighty dragons, to make your way through a mysterious tower that appeared out of nowhere. Discover its secrets and stop the evil Scak from accomplishing his plan that would seal Interia's fate.

General Gameplay

Suncore Chronicles: The Tower mixes several genres to give a fresh and unique gameplay experience. Beside classical action adventure elements like puzzle solving, minigames, combat and looting in a third person setting, the game also includes several other gameplay elements. Those involve platforming sections with 2D movement or "Beat em up" styled levels, which are influenced by the good old console or arcade classics.

Combat System

Suncore Chronicles: The Tower has a fast paced realtime combat system, focussing on dodging enemy abilities, crowd control and using your strong abilities if the timing and positioning allows for it. The numerous bosses require the player to figure out the mechanics and timings to be able to succeed. The game also includes special dungeons meant for group play, which can require a whole group of four players to coordinate their actions in a reasonable way.

Specializations and Skills

The player can change between four different specializations at any time in the game, which include two melee classes and two more range oriented caster classes. Each class has their own abilities, which can be learned throughout the game. Abilities can be leveled up to increase their strength and add additional perks. In addition, each class has a specific strength like inceased health or a higher chance to perform critical strikes.

Equipment System

Each enemy in the game can drop loot of different kind and quality, including armor, weapons, materials for upgrades, runes, recipes for runewords and more.
The player can save all of his equipment in sets, which (like the specialization) can be changed at any time to fit the current play style. High quality pieces of equipment can modify player abilities, proc certain effects or even form powerful sets.

Development Philosophy

The base version of the game is free to play, allowing the player to get to know the main features and feeling of the game. However, the world is restricted to the starting areas, including two tutorial sections and the first world regions. The game will be extended frequently with low cost DLCs that include new features and add more regions, enemies and of course loot.

For optimal experience, it is recommended to play with a gamepad."> Feature Overview

I can't spot interactive objects, I can't save, I can't turn off the music separately, I don't have time to fully read the tutorial boxes, I can't like the GUI, I can't immerse myself in the broken English, I can't touch water. It's got loading screens, an invasive hud, juvenile quests, pacman-like lines of collectible tokens everywhere, and so on.

It's not as bad as I possibly make it sound, and worth a try as you might like it more than I do.

The main reason for me to give up quickly is that it unsettles my stomach with its camera changes, motion blurs and whatnot. It all could be improved, but it needs a drastic upgrade of the options menu.

I can run every game on max settings, but not this one. Nope. Runs like dog shit.
Generic, stiff animations.
Your character is allergic to water.
Terrible controls that make no sense.
Bugged quests that can't be turned in.
Already has a store. o_O;;

Going to go with a big fuck no.

i really wanted to like this game. Seriously. I waited for the release because it had some promise. But i cant give it approval. Controls are counter intuitive. Graphics are horrible, think Nintendo 64. Gameplay is sometimes fun but the classes are copy paste. It really doesnt matter which one you choose so playing with friends makes it so all of you are the same. If you have a potato pc then i guess if you want to scratch an arpg itch then this game is for you. Otherwise........hard pass

I really am enjoying this indie title and purchased the DLC.

- decent graphics
- cooperative multiplayer support
- entertaining bossfights
- creative puzzles
- free to try out
- really affordable price for the DLC/Full version

I think the devs did everything right with this one hence I really don't get the initial negative reviews just because people are too dumb to figure out controls.

The most important aspect of this game for me is that it provides me a Titan-Quest-Esque experience from a third person view perspective with a properly implemented cooperative multiplayer.

I am giving it an 8 out of 10 so far.

Constructive Suggestions for possible feature updates of the game:

- Implement the option to be able to Host and Join Public Random Co-op Matches
- Give us an Archer / Ranger class or let us pick up and shoot bows
- Choose an outdoor location for the tutorial combat training
- (The Grand Hall location is way too dark and lacks polish and does not represent the game
- Let us carry shadow casting torches and magical lights to illuminate the darker environments
- Smooth out the stopping and starting animation transitions for our hero character
- Allow us to zoom in and out on our hero (preferably with the mouswheel up/down buttons) so we can marvel at him

I`m really enjoying this game, it reminds me the first time I played Zelda “a link to the past”: a very unique, classic/oldschool rpg experience with beautiful music, great landscapes/enviorment and epic boss fights. The combat mode on a steam-pad is very intuitive and in combination with the character customisation options and the abundant loot, this game made me lose sense of time. I´m very eager to get deeper into this world, solve more quests and to see things getting darker and darker! :D
Overall it´s a very unique gaming experience, I can`t wait this juwel to grow and looking forward for more DLCs!

So far I like the game, the graphics/environment is great looking. The UI is great very simple and clean. The controls are terrible and if they fixed that it'd be awesome! So far I've completed the starting area but it was very frustrating figuring out all the controls and how to change them, if they just implemented a simple hit ESC key and navigate with your mouse cursor it'd be great but it's very annoying but I gave it some time! Also as a game design student myself I loved the fact it was made in Unity! <3

You can check out my starting area gameplay here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UerJTwKIv1s&t=9s

Horrible. No mouse cursor so navigation is keyboard only, really confusing and terrible looking UI, have to quit the game to change graphics settings that you can't even customise. Don't bother.
