Finger weg!

Das Spiel hat starke Schwierigkeiten mit Controllern umzugehen. Selbst Tastatur eingaben werden nicht ausgeführt! Konnte somit dieses Spiel nicht einmal antesten, geschweigen überhaupt mal Spielen.

Also mich hat Red Wings positiv überrascht. Zwar ist es mehr oder weniger rein Arcade, aber es macht Spaß, die Gegner abzuschießen und Ziele zu erfüllen.

Ist ganz gut wenn man es Kostenlos bekommen hat kaufen würde ich es nicht. Aber trotzdem sehr schön gemacht die Flugzeuge gefallen mir :D

Red Wings ist keine realistische Simulation wieder MFS2020, die Flugzeuge haben weder eine ultra realistische Flugphysik noch ein realistisches Kampfverhalten. Und das ist auch gut so! Denn Red Wings ist ein Arcade Spiel, mit schnell zu lernender Steuerung und rasantem Gameplay. In der Kampagne kann man zwischen dem Dreibund und der Triple Entente wählen und erlebt je nach dem eine etwas andere Geschichte, welche im Grunde genommen aber ähnliche Funktionen hat. Die Geschichte ist aber eigentlich vernachlässigbar, aber das ist die Geschichte in den meisten Arcade Spielen. Allerdings kommt es ja schließlich darauf an ob es Spaß macht. Und hier zu kann ich nur sagen: Ja es macht Spaß!

Naja typisches Flugballerspiel ...
und wen darf man wohl wieder abschießen -.-
Nette Grafik, lustiger Zeitvertreib.
Aber bei der Lenkung ( Nur Tastatur möglich,
man braucht entweder 8 Finger oder eine dritte
Hand um ordentlich fliegen zu können ), muss
man deutliche Abstriche machen.

In diesem Zustand nicht zu empfehlen, sorry.
Kommt noch Mauslenkung oder Controller dazu,
würde ich es empfehlen.

So leider nur 4/10

I got this product free on steam during the Mar2021 promotion and immediately found it fun and engaging. The flying is similar to Sky Pilot and Crimson skies although set during World War 2. There are 2 campaigns for each side of the conflict with about 25 missions during which you will gain skill points to level up abilities and also gain access to new aircraft. It has a co-op mode although I haven't used it myself. This game kept me coming back after my initial play and I ended up finishing both campaigns and unlocking some of the crazier skins for some of the aircraft. Great fun and although I got it free It is worth picking up on sale If you like the idea of a WW2 arcade flight game.

The game its fun until you reach the unavoidable bonus level where you have to fly through rings and if you miss one its an instant game over, then the Superman 64 PTSD kicks in and I put down the controller.

EDIT: I finally finished this game, somehow someone thought that a ring level with anti air fire was a suitable end boss for their game...

Arcade-like WWI-era dogfighting game with cartoony graphics. There's a survival mode, a tutorial, and a 'story' where you can play as a pilot from the Triple Entente or Triple Alliance.

It's pretty fun to play, there's a bunch of challenges and the controls are easy enough to pick up and do well in - yet always have room to do better. Everything seems to be designed around the xbox/ps controller style using a 'neutral button graphic set' (twin stick, four shoulder button, and four face buttons) so people using other layout types may run into handling issues.

Movies play out like a comic book reading, I do like that they have subtitles.

BRRRRRRRRRRRT goes the plane. If you're looking for an arcade dogfighting game and just want to shoot down planes without all the extra sim stuff, this is a solid pickup.

Overall I recommend the game but not for its full price.
Game is really easy to play but after an hour it gets boring.
Story is meh and there's nothing special about it.
I liked the way you can play with your friends and I did enjoy it while I was playing with my friend in his house.

First of all, this is an arcade type game. This is NOT a fighter plane simulator of some sort (like Ace Combat series)
if you expect a realistic flight control/plane maneuver, this is not game for you.

For instance, you can only control pitch and yaw+roll combined to turn the plane. The shooting (strafing) physic is straightforward. You shoot straight into enemy planes, without bullet trajectory. And because of limited flight control i mentioned before, it is hard to dodge enemy bullet, without some special moves involved.

But for arcade-y game, this is good. You hop into WW1 era planes, shoving bullets to enemy planes. Graphics good, for controls, you definitely needs a controller..

once more, treat this game as an arcade type flight games, and it will give you fun. Altough, as a flight sim lover, personally i'd like to if this game give some options, at least for manually control pitch, roll, and yaw of the plane..

I got it from a good friend, and it is a good game! My laptop is not a gaming computer, without a dedicated graphics card, but the game runs smoothly! I just have to wait for it to load for a few minutes, but once it's ready, it is great!
The controls can be tricky if you want to not use resources like auto-target and quick turn, but once you master them, you can play it pretty naturally.
The graphics have an interesting cartoon drawing, what is great and adjusted to the age where the plot is developed, during the 1st World War. The clouds are kinda annoying, but they are part of the skies, right?
The sounds are realistic and they also give me a feeling from that time. The sounds of the wind, shots, engines, explosions are great. I wish there was an original soundtrack, but it is not a big flaw.
All things considered, I recommend it as a relaxing and fun game! A perfect game to play when you want to relax and dogfight other airplanes!

The most fun i had in a very long time, the game has a clear vision, it's honest about it and completely succeeds in achieving it's goal. It has a modest but perfectly executed art style, it has upgrades, skins and challenges. All those elements contribute to an engaging and fun game loop. Red Wings also has the quality of life features you'd expect from any contemporary game. If more developers followed their vision like these guys, we'd have more great games like this one.

The game was free a couple of days ago but it's certainly worth the asking price and probably more. BUY IT.

Ps: It's more fun than any of the ace combat games I've played, and i played many. WWI air combat is where it's at. No boring missile lock on in this one. Just pure machine-gun dog fighting fun.

Great game. Beautiful graphics and nice gameplay.
You can see by the game's video and pictures on Steam page that it's an arcade game. So sim fans should stay away.
I loved the cartoonish graphics, it fits very well with the fun gameplay.
It´s like you're commanding a plane in the late Saturday Morning Cartoons.

In my opinion this game deserves a better rating than the 60% it currently has.

Many of the negative ratings are related to the fact that the base game is basically what was the demo prior to release and that the full game is contained in the DLC.

This was a somewhat unorthodox and really unfortunate decision made by All in! Games, because the DLC representing the full game has almost no ratings, while a big part of the negative base game ratings are likely from demo-only players and most positive base game ratings are likely from DLC buyers.

I enjoyed the casual game play, the smooth controls (with my Xbox 360 controller) and the cartoonish but nice looks. Having bought the DLC, I finished the single-player campaign with both the Germans and the Allies and also played through the three wave mode difficulties.

However, there are a few design choices and bugs that are a bit annoying:
- The menu navigation is cumbersome, especially if you want to change your plane and/or skill point allocation between missions or for the same mission. You always have to restart navigating from the main menu.
- Due to a bug, the skill menu did not work for me post-mission, but only pre-mission.
- There are many likeable and good looking plane skins to unlock. However, for many of them to unlock, you will need to earn a lot of skill points first, like from finishing most campaign missions with 3-star ratings. This means you will unlock most skins only towards the end of the campaign. And as it does not provide much replay value, you have only limited occassions to use all those unlocked skins.

Think Crimsons skies Meets Snoopy's Flying Ace. Don't go into this expecting anything more than Fun.
Fantastic little Arcade flight shooter. anyone who expected anything more... well i'm not even sure what to think about that. people complaining about no flight stick support and how its not realistic enough... what were you expecting?! DCS?

Here's the deal - this review on the steam system is of a 4 mission DEMO - not a free to play game. The verbiage being used here is troublesome. More on that later.

OK, based on this DEMO, its a fun game with exceedingly basic controls and gorgeous art. You can't fly upside down (inverted) or do loops. Loops are pretty basic and the plane feels like it wants to do them - so i'm not sure what happened with the development there. I'm a pilot so I like seeing how game developers handle flight in games. I took a more thorough look at some aspects of the game in my review: https://youtu.be/n08_2NMzxOk

Suffice it to say that this demo doesn't give a great first first impression (one of the 4 missions you get to play is essentially a collect-a-thon). The art is great and I had a good time with the demo, but it is only a demo. Be sure to check the reviews of the 'add-on' for the reviews of the full game, which costs more money. Lots of positivity in these reviews because of it being f2p. Its not f2p.

Great game for every WW I fans out there – very nice arcade shooter with a compelling (history based) story shown in beautifully made comics (animated and fully voiced) beetwen missions. I strongly recommend to give it a try. Survive and win … for Keiser! :)

Ok, I really don't see what's with the negativity for this game? Its a ARCADE dogfighting game not a SIM. This game is actually impressive, I like how its ww1 related and I absoulutely love the cartoonish graphics on my MSI 2080. The controls for the controller feel really good. Too bad that you can't bind buttons or keys on a controller or keyboard, or change the resolution. They could literally not put a demo because the actual game is the exact same as the demo. One thing that confuses me is how come they didn't put the full game in the actual game instead of paying like 15$? I really like this game, I really do. And maybe someday, can ya'll please add online? Devs you nailed this game with fantastic cartoonish graphics and making it ww1 related. ????

Fun casual shooter. Controls are very intuitive and the game is very playable with controller. Love the art style and comic/arcade presentation.
Support the devs and buy the upgrade!!

No mouse controls for menus! Starting screen says to press any key, yet no keys on the keyboard or mouse did anything. Do not get! Half assed port.

Huge disappointment. I've been waiting a long time for this game to release, as I'm a fan of simple, arcade-style flight sims. First thing I notice is the resolution in inexplicably fixed at 1176x664. There is a resolution selector, sure, but that's the only resolution you can select.

Next, controls. As a PC flight sim fan, I of course have a joystick. So, plugging in the joystick actually disables the menu system in the game since I guess it's only set up for a gamepad. Does not work at all to control the plane. That leaves keyboard controls, which aren't any fun on a flight game. Apparently no mouse control.

So that leaves a flight game that only plays in somewhere around VGA resolution, that doesn't allow for joystick or HOTAS input, and instead forces users to steer with their keyboards. Took me right back to 1992.

Highly not recommended.

I'm not a game developer, but I understand how difficult it must be to put together any big project like this, and how infuriating it probably is to see reviews like mine, so I appreciate your constructive tone. I agree with your focus on an arcade style experience, but would suggest joystick support would actually contribute to that goal and better approximate arcade controls (at least last time I visited an arcade). You don't need realistic flight controls or even 'roll,' but joysticks allow for better control in a flight sim and are just more fun for many of us. As a PC game, the one platform where gamers really have the joystick option for flight games, it would be an important control system to support even in a more casual game.

I don't know why the resolution is stuck but I uninstalled and reinstalled the game, and it won't move from 1176x664. I have a 4K monitor and a GTX 1080 Ti graphics card, and I've never had a similar experience with another game.

For me, keyboard controls for a flight sim just don't cut it, and I'm not a fan of gamepads for PC games, so I'm happy to follow the game but won't play again until joystick support is added. If you're able to do that, I'll be happy to give it another shot and update the review.

I really enjoyed what I played so far. There are so many flight games, yet so few that take place during WWI. This is not a sim, obviously, with radar and shields and fuel-refilling balloons, but those things don't bother me; I'm not looking for a sim - I'm looking to fill the WWI flying itch that never goes away.

It's like any other air or space combat game; fly around and destroy the enemy, and there is obvious aim assist going on which I really appreciate, because I suck at these kinds of games, often swinging my plane wildly just trying to lay a bead on an enemy, and with planes flying all over it helps.

Being able to hide in clouds was also a nice touch, as are the lovely cel-shaded graphics. Colorful, rich, with beautiful and varied terrain with nice little touches of its own such as explosions happening far below you.

It's nice to have a beautiful to look at and easy to play WWI flying game. Takes me back to Warbirds on the Lynx (remember THAT?). If you're looking for something more hardcore this may not be for you, but I feel like the game was made just for me.
