Flackerproblem (Bug) lösen: Im Spieleordner (Unter Steam Bibliothek AC Revelations Verwalten Lokale Dateien) die Datei systemdetection.dll löschen, dann geht's...

Code Assassin’s Creed Revelations concludes the Ezio saga with familiar gameplay and presentation, offering even less new elements than its predecessor

When I reviewed Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood I called it “basically Assassin’s Creed 2.5, a direct continuation of the story and with only few additions to the overall core gameplay loop”. With this in mind, now that I’m reviewing Assassin’s Creed Revelations, it’s only fair to call it Assassin’s Creed 2.7 – another direct continuation of the story but with even fewer additions to the overall gameplay.

But I’m getting ahead of myself, so let’s review the basics first. Assassin’s Creed Revelations is the final entry in the so-called “Ezio saga”: Beginning with Assassin’s Creed II in 2009, continuing with Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood in 2010 and now concluding with this game, originally released in 2011. As with Brotherhood, there has only been a year between the release of the previous game and Revelations - which is probably the main reason why it’s once again sticking to the same old formula, with only a few new bits here and there.

What that means in practice is that we once again got a new playground to explore, Constantinople this time, but basically the same gameplay as Assassin’s Creed II with some of the refinements from Brotherhood – you can once again recruit assassins and make them do the heavy-lifting for you but horses are gone for example. Fast-travel points are there again as well (yay!) but remain places you need to visit in order to actually fast-travel (nay!).

The newest additions to the gameplay are even smaller in scale than those featured in Brotherhood. You can now build bombs which really isn’t necessary considering your tool kit is already big enough. And you get a “Hookblade”, which amounts to slightly faster climbing and some new combat moves. Finally, you can cross a few selected ziplines now. Groundbreaking stuff, really.

The remaining gameplay is just what you think it is. Assassinations, free-running, tower liberating and tailing missions. I really wish they’d change things up a notch. During one mission, you seriously need to tail a flower merchant just because protagonist Ezio can’t wait for him to return with a few selected flowers. Come on!

I criticised the lack of variety in Brotherhood already and it’s unfortunately also the same for this game. If you still want the same old Assassin’s Creed gameplay, you won’t be disappointed but personally, some parts of it really start to get old after already playing through the previous titles. There are a few glimmers of hope sparkled throughout the story missions of Assassin’s Creed Revelations – like disguising yourself to enter a celebration and acting accordingly or some action-heavy sequences (which are somewhat silly & a bit too long but at least they offer something new!). But these moments remain small in comparison to the same old tasks you’re going to repeat over and over again.

And then there’s also “Desmond’s Journey”, a bunch of Animus side missions exploring Desmond’s life. They can be unlocked by gathering enough of a certain collectible in the game – or by purchasing the Lost Archive DLC, which unlocks all of them for some reason. They’re quite different from the main game, offering first person puzzle platforming as gameplay instead. Unfortunately, these sound way better than they actually play like. They are exceptionally boring to play through, as you’re slowly making your way through some incredible dull rooms only to listen to Desmon rambling about his life. I know I asked for some gameplay variety - but I never experienced a puzzle platformer that’s as devoid of fun as these sections.

In conclusion, gameplay’s mostly what it always has been up to this point. If this a good or bad thing would mostly depend on your enjoyment of the previous titles. If you’re playing Assassin’s Creed II, Brotherhood and Revelations right next to each other, you’re basically getting at least 50+h of the same game experience, really. That’s probably why they’re sold as the “Ezio Collection” on consoles as well. I should note, however, that it took me only about 10h to beat Assassin’s Creed Revelations - which is considerably less than its predecessors.

Moving on, story-wise, Assassin’s Creed Revelations is trying to connect the first Assassin’s Creed & its protagonist Altair to Ezio’s tale. Ezio is an older man now (but still as agile as ever) and searching for Altair’s library. This tasks him with obtaining five keys and you’ll now already see how the story’s going to turn out.

That said, I do like how Assassin’s Creed Revelations manages to conclude both, Altair’s and Ezio’s story in a meaningful way. We rarely see videogame protagonists age and that’s a shame, as it usually makes for some great story moments. Much of the historic story might be predictable and isn’t going to keep you glued to your screen – but it achieves its task.

The modern-day story, however, remains a mess. The cliffhanger ending of Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is basically flat-out ignored for the most part and you’re suddenly tasked with keeping Demond’s mind together. Apart from the beginning and the ending, there’s basically no progress in modern-day storyline – at all. And to cap it all off, they went for another cliffhanger ending – in true Assassin’s Creed fashion.

Still, most players are probably going to play Assassin’s Creed Revelations in order to see Ezio’s story concluded, and they won’t be disappointed. The game’s largely the same but I guess everyone sticking with the franchise until this point doesn’t expect anything else. And for everyone new to Ezio’s saga – start with Assassin’s Creed II.

One last thing: The “proper” conclusion of Ezio’s life isn’t shown in the game – but instead as part of a 20-minute short movie called “Embers”. It used to be sold as part of the more expensive versions of this game – but nowadays, you can just watch it on YouTube. I’d advise doing so, as it makes for a good epilogue – but only after finishing this game first.

My Purchases : Assassin's Creed Revelations - Gold Edition
My scores for this game
Story : 10/10
After finishing the AC BROTHERHOOD version, I immediately downloaded this game and started, the al tair story ends and the desmond continues, and again we are in this ezio version ❤️ I really enjoyed the story.
Graphics : 10/10
The graphics that I had to do in AC, with a great word, the cinematics were a masterpiece. I enjoyed .
Musics & Sound : 10/10
The menu song and the in-game songs were great and new, the Istanbul and Turkish dialogues made me feel great.
Details : 7/10
The feeling I had about the structure of the city of Istanbul was not put on the city for a long time, they made Istanbul weak, the city looked big and beautiful, but it was small.
Gameplay : 10/10
The combat and combat of the previous three versions were very similar, but in this version I saw a lot of progress, especially bombs and bomb making.
Variety : 9/10
I enjoyed the variety, but it was small, it could have been more.
Characterization : 10/10
old ezio us yusuf's character was great and still sultan suleyman was great on all the characters.
Optimization : 10/10
Clear.
Multiplayer : 10/10
Online was in place and you could compete with your friends.
Bugs : i dont see.
Note : need connect ubisoft connect , I do not recommend buying the gold version because it has more effect on the online, only a DLC that completes the story of Lucy.
Description : And the ending of the ezio masterpiece story and the feeling I had was very unspeakable.
Extra : ×××
Overall score : 9.8/10
I recommend to end ezio story

Stuttering/Flickering Fix

Delete the systemdetection.dll file in the Assassin's Creed Revelations folder to fix all the stuttering.

Simply right click the game's title in your library, click Properties, Browse Local Files, File Explorer will pop up, and you'll find the file there.

Hope this helps someone. ^_^

An amazing and satisfying end to the Ezio trilogy.
There was a bug that made the game literally unplayable but thanks to steam forums and discussions, I was able to fix it. Other than that, this game is perfect in every sense.

I don't understand how Ubisoft went from making such amazing games that holds up even today to whatever they are now. It's disappointing how they destroyed their own potential.

Conclusion :

Prix d’achat : 7.99€ (Assassin’s Creed : Révélations – 01/05/2020)

Doing a play-through of this series. So far,
AC: Simple, tedious, and repetitive, but it gives you time to realize that the story has a lot more depth to it than you notice at a glance, keeping the player invested in continuing. Finished @ 19hr
AC2: TOTAL upgrade form AC. The story, the game play, etc. It was an incredible experience from beginning to end that left me with only one complaint: I need MORE. Finished @ 29hr
ACB: It utilized a lot of what made AC2 so good.. but it failed to deliver on why. 90% of what you retain from this game is from the opening sequence and the final Sequence. The game was still fun, but It was nothing compared to either of the previous games. Finished @ 13 hr
ACR: This game was a lot better than ACB, and definitely carries the story a lot better. I've really only got 3 complaints. The smallest is the weird tower defense addition. It wasn't really worth the time to play those missions. nothing really added or lost. Second is that it's a short game, though the story makes up for this. third, being the worst, is that I was unable to actually finish the game due to bugs that were never fixed. My game was corrupted in the very last part of the game and it's next to impossible to recover. You can't load an older version and you can't use someone else save game because ubisoft decided to pair your save files with your account so you'll literally have to entirely restart if it happens and from what I've found it's a COMMON issue. That's the only bug I'll talk about, but there were several throughout the game that caused me to have to close out and restart the game several times. kind of finished @ 12hr

The end of Eziogelion

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is the conclusion to the Ezio trilogy within the third-person stealth franchise Assassin’s Creed. The series focuses on period dramas with historical figures and conspiracies.

The narrative is set during the early 16th century of the Ottoman empire, mainly Masyaf and Constantinople. While there’s a lot of brown colored areas, there are also many places that break from it with nice lush gardens, pools of water and big markets with vibrant colors with mats and robes.

We play as an old and cynical Ezio on his last journey, this time we retrace the steps of the first protagonist Altaïr. While AC:B Ezio had grown and become more wise, this older Ezio has grown further and become tired and disillusioned with his assassin-lifestyle. I loved this aspect of his character and I think it adds a lot of nuance to him.

The same cannot be said for Altaïr, who was retconned to get more backstory but it actively ruins his previously established character.
His design change also leaves me confused. In the original he looked like a young Syrian man, but has now been remodeled to look like a white european man for some reason.

Due to the need for a conspiracy between the Templars and Assassins as well as Ezio’s personal story, the timeline is a bit off. However many of the political strifes and relations between historical figures are actually quite accurate and I was pleasantly surprised at how they told the story. Some notable figures that appear are: Şahkulu, Suleiman I, and Manuel Palaiologos, to name a few.

Many have complained that there was never any clear main villain. I’d argue that is actually more true to history than the previous titles as political tension and past conflicts are the real antagonists, not one faction or person.

Most of the mechanics from previous titles reappear with little to no change. What’s more interesting is the newly introduced “hookblade”. This hookblade adds a much needed fluidity and ease to traversal that was always a stumblingblock in previous titles. I felt like I could finally do some parkour and platforming without it being a constantly interrupted hassle.
Not only that but you can now craft and customize bombs that give a new layer of experimentation to how you deal with enemies.

Something else they did that I felt actually added some tension to the gameplay, was that some of your previously captured territory could come under attack. This would prompt you to engage in a strategic tower defense mode, wherein you need to place out assassin troops to take out oncoming foes in waves.

Of course old and tired mechanics like investments and finding collectables are back, but I’m glad they at least tried to do something new with this title that made it distinctly different from the previous titles.

I was pleasantly surprised to have found an Assassin’s Creed game that I enjoyed for the most of its runtime. That being said AC:R is still filled with many of the bad design choices of previous titles. I just hope that more games in the series follow in this direction rather than the likes of 2 or Brotherhood.

enjoyed it as continuation of Ezio trilogy. control wise game feels very similar to previous games in the series (AC2 - Brotherhood) but it's easier to proceed because there's only few areas where you'll be pressed to endure bad parkour mechanics (grabbing ladders when you just run, jumping random directions etc but these flaws just the same as in all AC games, Ubisoft never cared to refine their parkour mechanics and you'll see even worse examples of it in Black Flag).
game has smaller world to explore (only one city) but I don't count it as a flaw because it still takes alot of time to manage your side missions. Tower defense game is a sad joke but you can avoid it. I liked the setting and story is good (there's not much of a story but it manages to connect bits of information you already had from previous games and creates one big picture).
Overall I had good time with this game, however it had big issues with performance. No issues with FPS (45-60 stable, no stutters on maxed settings). Controller works better than kb+mouse so I played with controller. However it crashes once in 1-2 hours, requirement to have opened 2 game launchers (uplay and steam) and these two hog like there's no tomorrow. I ended up playing without steam launcher (from uplay directly) but it occasionally asked for my steam app so I had to open it temporarily. What a hassle. Ubisoft is the worst on the market and I purchased this game off steam only because this one is the last in the series where Ubisoft sells original version (with all languages incl English). Ac4 Black Flag and after that - only Russian language. They added English to steam version of Black Flag but on uplay launcher it has only Russian and even if you add your language files it simply won't let you use it (drm in uplay dll will prevent it). I despise this company for such actions and I encourage you to pay attention to details when you buy their games. Sometimes they would sell you random language locked game even if no one speaks that language in your country.

I recommend this game only as solid experience in AC universe. Would I recommend it to new player? I have no idea, it is good but not great (as all AC games), so it would be neutral - grab it on sale, see if it works for you.

Played on Linux, Debian 10, Nvidia drivers, Steam Play (Proton 6.3) but most of the time on wine-staging 6.x with dxvk.

Pros

  • Takes place in Constantinople, has similar rebuild and income mechanics but are not as expansive as AC Brotherhood making for faster income & renovation progression
  • Concludes Desmond's story and gives insight into the ending of AC Brotherhood
  • Assassins Guild system progresses much faster with the integration of assassin dens that are the equivalent of borgia towers in AC Brotherhood; recruits can be assigned to these dens and become progressively more powerful than normal units
  • Collectibles are all trackable
  • Bombs are an intuitive new system that adds more ways of approaching stealth and combat
  • Yusuf {Best Man}

Cons

  • More content for Cappadocia, the underground city is aesthetically incredible; its a shame its only used for a single sequence

This is AC during its golden age with its undisputed best assassin in the franchise, Ezio Auditore. Revelations is essentially a re-skinned version of the previous instalment in the series, Brotherhood as well as sequences of the original with Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. This is both it's biggest strength and weakness for obvious reasons, it feels very much the same as Brotherhood just with the addition of a grappling hook, but Brotherhood was one of, if not the, best AC game in the series, so being so similar is not necessarily a bad thing.

This is probably the one AC game where I would not recommend any of the DLC at all and you will be fine with the standard version of the game. The only singleplayer DLC is a modern day Desmond Miles tale with horrendous gameplay and no new story while the rest of the DLC is for multiplayer, but the MP is basically dead, as matches can rarely be found. Unfortunately, this game requires Uplay; there are Uplay achievements and, at the time of this review, all Uplay rewards are automatically permanently unlocked for all AC games. The game supports 21:9.

This is the end of Ezio's adventure (apart from the embers short movie). This one also takes place in one city like ac brotherhood. This city happens to be Constantinople which is about the same size as rome from ac brotherhood, maybe a bit smaller. The story is good but not the quality of ac2. shorter than ac brotherhood though. still a great game.

Although this isn't my favorite game in the series it is very much near the top of my list. The Ezio Auditore trilogy was personally my favorite part of the Assassin's Creed franchise with Assassin's Creed Revelations being the conclusion of that story. The part that stands out the most for me in this game was the Ezio and Altair (main character from AC:1) crossover where the storylines start to bridge the gap between two generations of assassins. Factor in the nostalgia of all the previous entries coming together into one final conclusion, Assassin's Creed Revelation really did a great job wrapping up the story.

Also, you will see on my reviews that Den Defense isn't fun and hurt this game but I personally loved it!

One of the better Assassin's Creed Games.

This game is a spectacular combination of impressive scenery and well written story.

You continue Ezio's journey, now an old man seeking fulfillness in life, into the holy land, Constantinopel
and a massive underground city
which traces the history of the brotherhood, mixed with flashbacks to Altair's memories.
It presents a well done conclusion to the trilogy of Ezio-Games and also to the first ACs, as it successfully integrates Altair.

The world looks and feels great and I couldn't get enough of the lively and well designed streets of the City of the World's Desire. The combination of Roman and Turkic elements fits greatly into the franchise and reminds you that originally, the Assassins were an islamic brotherhood.

Additional elements are Desmonds (and with the DLC Subject 16's) memories into his past, explaining many things and fleshing out the lore.

The graphics feel like a great upgrade from AC2 and even Brotherhood, even though all three games run on the same engine. Here things feel more realistic and convincing.

All in all, I do recommend playing this game, although you might want to play (or read up on the storyline) of the previous games because it makes it easier to understand what's going on and why it is going on.

While the opening act wasn't winning me any favors, by the end I fell in love. Constantinople was sunny, bright and beautiful but the dark plots with the Sultan heirs and the active Templar threat (they can destroy your assassin dens now for example) work as a nice contrast. Ziplining and the hookblade improved freerunning 10x over Brotherhood. I enjoyed the Tower Defense minigame as well. This game works well enough as a closing act for Ezio and Altaïr.

You can also play the Lost Archive DLC or even watch it (there's a lot of puzzles) for more context on Subject 16 and Desmond. That will in turn prepare you for the 3rd game, I recommend buying Assassin's Creed Odyssey Gold so you get Assassin's Creed 3 and Liberations (it's companion game) for technically less than the cost of them on their own.

A true masterpiece!

The game is really great and I really enjoyed the story campanie. The side quests were also quite fun and made for some hours of play. I completed every story mission and every side quest to 100% and I honestly never got bored.
The only problem I had was the rather unique controls, which generally got on my nerves in the older parts of the Assassin's Creed series. It took me a while to get into the game, but once you figure out how the Hookblade works, you start to question why it's not in the later parts (Black Flag, etc.).This hookblade was really extraordinarily practical and saved my ass a few times.
I can recommend this game to every Assassins Creed fanboy, you just have to be content with the fact that the controls are a little old-fashioned and take a little time to get used to.

All in all: 9.5 / 10

Ezio's story comes to an end.. and what a journey it was. If haven't played the previous two Assassins Creed, not sure how you will find it but its still a wonderful game. You take the role of an elder assassin that seeks answers that will allow him to rest at last. Takes place in beautiful Constantinople.

I highly recommend the Lost Archive dlc also, it is similar to Desmond's Journey sequences from previous titles; an abstract walking sim with puzzling gameplay and Subject 16 story background.

At the time of this review I've played the first one, all of the Ezio trilogy, and a little bit of AC Chronicles China. From those games i'd have to say this one is definitely my favorite.

It's got the exact same gameplay as AC Brotherhood, but it refines the issues in it and makes them better. The open world and only taking place in 1 city doesn't feel as bad in this game as it does in Brotherhood. There's no horses in this game, so it gets rid of that issue of having horses in the tight streets. The tower sequences where you had to kill a specific guy and then climb up to the tower are less frequent and better designed (there was one that was really challenging) so it doesn't feel like an annoyance like it did in Brotherhood.

On top of that there's zipline mechanics which make getting around the city much more fun. The city is also very good looking and the clothing the NPC's wear is very colorful and Constantinople was an overall really good choice. I loved the setting in this game. The story was also the best in the Ezio trilogy where it showed Ezio at the end of his journey, his love interest, a good old AC conspiracy plot, and even finishing Altair's story. The story was really good. This is a really good AC game.

This game along with Assassin's Creed 1 are the only ones you will ever need to play if you don't care about Desmond Miles and the Isu.

Here we can see an Ezio that already had his revenge, his scars are more than 30 years old now. He's tired of rowing in the dark, now he seeks wisdom and some sort of peace of mind.

No more revenge, no more pointless famous people teaching him how to be an assassin. Only his hidden blade, his creed, his brotherhood and the need of a light in the dark that maybe Altaïr can provide to strengthen him and his brotherhood beliefs.

This game offers a more mature approaching to Ezio's story compared to the others. The first time I played it was back in 2011 when it got released and it left a single memory in me for all these years; two colors: night sky blue and dawn yellow. 10 Years later, the same vibes continue, but now I'm mature enough to understand how deep this game is and this time I'll remember much more than only two colors, that's for sure. I also rediscovered its amazing OST, AC1 and AC2 were good, but this one is just perfect.

A must buy and a must play if you enjoy a good story, wheather you like or not the AC games.
Ezio searching for wisdom in the bones of his brother Altaïr is probably the most powerful moment in the entire franchise, as if it were Prince Hamlet holding Yorick's skull in his hand. The revelations came to his mind; Ezio was a tool of the Isu since he was born and he doesn't want to continue as one. He wants to spend his last years of life living free, he doesn't want to end like Altaïr. But sadly, that is just another false freedom, because that's exactly what Isu wants him to do, so he can have childrens to continue his lineage untill Desmond Miles is born. A sad ending for a man who lost everything, even his creed at the end, only to become a tool for a higher purpose that he will never comprehend.
Here is where the real Assassin's franchise dies for me. And it's not a bad thing, it's the perfect conclusion for both Altaïr and Ezio stories.

Requiescat in pace in your last years of life, Ezio Auditore da Firenze, you have earned it.

Requiescat in pace, Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. Your old bones managed to deliver to your predecessor the truth he needed at that moment in his life. You're still the only assassin that has given 92 years and everything you got until the very end for a creed that betrayed you too many times.

Nothing is true; everything is permitted.

Im so glad i gave these older ac games a try.
Its been quite the adventure already and I still have so many to do.

This is the fourth game of the series. The 3rd of the Ezio collection and another superb entry to Ezio’s story.

This time we travel to Constantinopel/Byzantium or Istanbul, whichever you want to call it.
The map is smaller than Rome but alot more denser.

Combat has added bombs to your toybox but i mostly still killed by using the hidden blade and countering.

We got a nice story wrap of Altair’s further life and a nice ending to say goodbye to Ezio.

The game is a bit shorter and feels easier.

It was a great experience once again.

Next in line is the Assassins Creed III and Liberation Remastered bundle that are included in Odyssey’s season pass.

Ps: If you have trouble with a flickering screen you need to delete the systemdetection.dll file. You can find out how in the steam forums.

A solid enough finale to the Ezio trilogy, which, due to a lack of real innovation from 2 and Brotherhood feels a little stale. The addition of the hookblade proves neat enough when used in combat and freerunning, but nothing too new is brought to the table. Still very good, full of the usual AC fare, and well worth experiencing.

When I was a young man,
I had liberty ,but did not see it
I had time, but did not know it,
And I had love, but did not feel it
Many decades would pass before I understood its meaning of all three.
And now, in the twilight of my life ,
this understanding has passed into contentment.
Love liberty and time,
once so disposable
are the fuel that drive me forward,
and love was the especially mia caro,
for you,our children, our brothers and sisters,
and for vast and wonderful world that gave us life
and keeps us guessing.
Endless affection,mio sofia.

Most underrated Ezio game in my opinion. The setting is so unique, the soundtrack is amazing, the set pieces are amazing and I love the story. The combat is the same thing as the other Ezio games, if that bores you. However, it gives a bit more difficulty through the Janissary enemy.

What an awesome game. The story was so good that I just went on with the main missions without doing any side mission and I have never done that before. This story is a great piece of art and so is the architecture of Constantinople and Cappadocia. Beautifully made and graphically a step above ACB. Has almost all the features from ACB and yet is a little bland if you are looking for a lot of content. But of course if you have been through AC1 to ACB then obviously this one's a way to go.

Assassin's Creed Revelations is the final chapter for the beloved Ezio Auditore, and its a beautiful sendoff for the character, in an action packed, full-of-surprises final adventure. While the story can basically be boiled down into locate item, get item and kill someone, the game manages to make this really interesting and fun, with exploration in the form of climbing puzzles making a huge improvement over the previous games.
Graphically, this game has aged well and looks really good on modern machines. Sometimes some blurring happens but generally this game has aged well (so far). Well done Ubisoft!
Gameplay can sometimes be clunky, with climbing and combat feeling really slow sometimes, especially compared to future games where these issues have been fixed.
Assassin's Creed Revelations gets a 7/10.

Highly Recommended, Graphically it holds up surprisingly well, Even in 2020 & the incredibly well written, 1000 IQ story from these early AC titles that feature Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, Ezio Auditore da Firenze & Desmond Miles is above & beyond anything released these days.

Great game.

People will tell this one is not as good as the previous 2, but for me 2, brotherhood and revelation complete each other.

9/10

  • For AC Fans: Recommended
  • For Story-Driven Games Fans: Recommended
  • For 3rd Person Action-Adventure Games Fans: Recommended
  • For Others: Recommended. This is the most mature (gameplaywise) among the Ezio-Trilogy of games and it holds-up in 2020. The same can be said for the graphics, it still looks great this 2020.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is a game that keeps what the series has been good at, and builds on top of it:
[olist]
  • Nice Story
  • Badass protagonist
  • Great world building
  • The right amount of side tasks.
  • [/olist]
It’s a game that kept me engaged throughout its 29-hour stay (90%). Combining great storytelling with new features like the Hook-blade, an assortment of bombs, and Eagle sense. Ezio Auditore da Firenze is in its most enjoyable, relatable, and badass state ever!

    EZIO OUT OF WATER!

The game puts you in the time where Ezio has matured in his life as an assassin. Experiencing so much during his lifetime, questions come up more than answers. As an action, he embarks on a journey in search of more of these answers.
The amazing thing I felt during this journey is the sense of Ezio being “out-of-water”. The world-building is superb. Though it still has many mechanics inherited from AC: Brotherhood like Factions, Banks, Doctors, buying merchants, buying landmarks, and many more. It still felt like a different place because people and buildings look vastly different. Also, the setting sounds different. From the murmurings of the crowd, their accents, to their responses when interacted to.
This feeling was further given emphasis when introducing new mechanics. It shows how assassins in Roma is different in technology compared to assassins in Constantinople. One example would be the introduction of different bomb types. When showed a bomb, Ezio responds with something like “how can a smoke bomb work in this situation?” and received a reply in the lines of “No no Ezio, this is no ordinary smoke bomb….”. Those are nice touches that add to the experience, it shows that even a master assassin can be shown new stuff.

GAME DIFFICULTY OR EZIO IS JUST TOO OP

During combat sequences, I felt the same combat feel in AC: Brotherhood. Wherein Ezio can kill anybody instantly, and the same goes for your assassin friends. Back in AC: Brotherhood, this made me take decisions differently like not finding the best gear, and not trying new strategies at all. Because I was too overpowered, I never really bothered with changing up anything player-power-wise. The same goes for AC: Revelations.
Combat for this game was a tough cookie to try and give a positive or negative rating on. Because on one hand, I like games that challenge me, which this game did not (except to get optional objectives), this is the reason I always play games on the hardest difficulty. But on the other hand, I am rooting for Ezio to be this badass master assassin that can kill anyone with ease. If I was not aiming to get all optional objectives, this would be a much shorter game because of Ezio having the combat prowess of a god.
And this is my fear, especially for the next AC games. Currently, I’m willing to give AC: Revelations a positive for combat because I’m rooting for Ezio to be the most badass character he can be, and I am sold on that fantasy. I think the reason for this bias is the story.

    THE STORY AND EZIO’S RELATABILITY

The story in this game is great. This was not a masterpiece by any stretch, because there were eye-rolling times like “how the in the world did that happen” or “Really… REALLY?” The reason it was great is that you now see more parts of Ezio. I won’t spoil anything. But what I can tell you is that this Ezio is a more mature and fleshed-out character compared to AC: Brotherhood. This is the most relatable Ezio has ever been compared to the previous two games.
I can see that this is the source of my positive bias towards this game. I like the story. The world-building and its characters support it.

OH DESMOND, I DIDN’T KNOW YOU WERE THERE.

I was so invested in Ezio’s story, that I never really bothered with Desmond’s. There are levels you can play in Animus Island as Desmond. Oh…. I feel so sad I haven’t gotten to play them…. NOT.
It looks like this is a testament as to how I was so disconnected with Desmond sequences that I start to now understand the comments that say, “Assassin’s Creed games should not have these present-day lore sequences anymore”. And I kind of agree.

    VERDICT

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations is a game that has a strong emphasis on Ezio’s story, gameplay mechanics that hits more than it misses, and quality-of-life changes that made the experience more seamless. The improvements it made over its predecessor is a big plus. While being able to introduce new features that made it more fun, but on rare occasions, it didn’t. I never imagined I would be this engaged with the game’s story, but it’s a testament to how good it is.

I would recommend AC:Revelations after completing the game multiple times (on consoles too) and 100% -ing it twice on PC. The Animus story is quite interesting, incorporating a semi-alternative history during the final years of Sultan Bayezid II's reign (who is only mentioned), wherein two of his sons, Selim and Ahmet, are involved in the usual successor squabbles of Ottoman princes. Ezio Auditore, on a quest of his own to find the Masyaf keys to unlock the Library of Altair, is plunged into the Ottoman Brotherhood's struggle with the Byzantines who wish to see Constantinople returned to the reign of the Palaiologos. Selim's own son, the young Suleiman (the to-be Magnificent/Lawgiver) makes an appearance after his return from Europe - Ezio's acquaintance with Suleiman directs the story further, leading to additional intrigue on the Ottoman succession from the Assassin standpoint.

Overall, gameplay is rather similar to Brotherhood (which I like), albeit more refined with the addition of bomb crafting (a favourite feature of mine) and the Hook Blade (a device making it easier to scale walls and traverse zip-lines). Music is top-notch as always, with its ambience respecting the oriental setting. The mini game of assassin contracts is also similar to Brotherhood, with the addition of earning capital after capturing and upgrading cities (you can have five assassins per city, with four allowed for missions along with your own set of assassins in Constantinople). A good game, it must be said!

After reading some negative comments, I didn't expect too much from this game. Surprisingly, I really liked it. It's kinda short, took me 12 hours to finish but there is a lot to love. Combat is similar to Brotherhood, the story is okay, not great but worth while. I feel it has more heart than the previous 2 Ezio games. Ezio here is in his 50s. I guess the story could have more fleshed out, but for everyone running though the Assassins games from the start, like I am, this is a worth while game to play. It completes the story of Ezio and has some great nostalgic moments from Altair's end story. Brotherhood managed to introduce some fresh concept, Revelations didn't add much more and seems just a little watered down but all in all it's worth your time.

In my opinion this is the weakest one out of Ezio's story and sadly the ending of his tale, the story is a tad weaker to the older games and the ending isn't the best but it's a must play if you're into the Creed's story since it's more about the Assassin's above anything else, and of course the apple of Eden is always a big part as expected. There's a lot of positives to this game and is worth the asking price but don't expect a strong finish.
    Total Score = 80/100.

    GAMEPLAY:

It is the fourth major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, a direct sequel to 2010's Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. The plot is set in a fictional history of real-world events and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Templars, who desire peace through control.

The framing story is set in the 21st century and features the series protagonist Desmond Miles who, with the aid of a machine known as the Animus, relives the memories of his ancestors to find a way to avert the 2012 apocalypse. Revelations features two other returning protagonists: Altaïr and Ezio. The main story follows the Assassin Ezio's journey to unlock the secret of Altaïr's vault in Masyaf using disc-like artifacts containing Altaïr's memories.

This is a seriously underrated game, and I disagree with those who deemed it a letdown. Revelation improved upon the game mechanics of Brotherhood in every way. Combat mechanics are smoother, building out the Assassin network is more complex, and the bomb toolkit allows for both combat creativity and enhanced stealth gameplay. Maybe some of the shade comes from a plotline lacking the epic sweep of its predecessor. But I found the plot rewarding in its own right, as it was built to close out the stories of both Ezio and Altair in one coherent arc. Put simply, Revelation took what worked from its predecessors and improved those aspects that didn't work quite so well. It's a good game that gets the job done.

A classical Assasin's Creed Game. Ezio and Altair's presence is a plus. You can visit the important places of Istanbul, one of the beautiful cities in the world. The story, the gameplay, the city, Ezio, Altair are great but the colors of the city are terrible. I mean that everything in this map is a shade of yellow. Except for this yellow thing, I would recommend this game.

Very unfortunate that I have to write this considering this is my favorite game in the series, but the game is an absolute mess of a port, feel free to look at the other reviews and see how poorly the game is optimized. After i was forced to install the U-Play launcher (which would not download the first 4 attempts) I finally could redeem my key on U-Play, upon launching the game however, nothing. The game did not start, again and again I tried as I looked online to find a reason, the only info I could find was about not meeting the system requirements, which I do. It seems even if I could get it to run, I would have to deal with low frames, stuttering and lots of glitches. This game deserves better Ubisoft.

I remember playing Assassins Creed 2 when I was 9 and now I've completed all ezio's sequels by the age 15. I really miss it when the Assassin's creed style and genre and everything about it was like the ezio's time. Really loved this game 10/10 no joke and the same thing goes for the entirety of ezio's series. The only other Assassin game's I liked after Ezio was Assassin Creed 3, Assassin Creed Unity, and maybe even Assassins Creed Blackflag.

This one takes me back. The first Assassin’s Creed game I ever played, around when I was eleven years old. Coming back to it nine years later, I remember why I loved it so much. It’s not everyone’s favourite in the series, but it is certainly mine.

    What I like:

+ Starting with the visuals, there is quite a significant upgrade from Brotherhood, to the point where I feel they still hold up today. The environments are gorgeous and filled with detail and the same treatment is given to the character models. Quality of animations are mostly the same, with slight improvements to combat.

+ The story is brilliant from start to finish. In my opinion it’s the best story so far, and quite possibly in the entire franchise. Ezio moves away from Italy in search of knowledge, taking him to Constantinople, and to Altair. It’s a beautiful conclusion to both Ezio’s story and Altair’s.

+ Contrary to what a lot of people think, I really enjoyed exploring Constantinople. I personally found it to be one of the most interesting cities in the franchise so far. It’s small, but it’s also alluring and unique. Exploring Masyaf hundreds of years after AC1 was also interesting to see, and serves as a nice call back.

+ Once again, the music is phenomenal. The main theme has to be my favourite video game theme of all time. It may likely be due to nostalgia reasons, but every time I hear it, I get chills. The game’s soundtrack overall is rather melancholic which fits with the emotions conveyed through the story.

+ The combat isn’t massively different from Brotherhood. Weapons from the previous games are back, and you are able to call in assassins to assist you at any time. What the combat has seen though, is refinement. AC: Revelations is surprisingly sparse of bugs, making the combat the smoothest its ever been.

+ The ability to craft and use bombs is one of AC: Revelations stand out features in terms of gameplay. You can craft lethal bombs, tactical bombs and distractive bombs. The types of bombs you can make depend on what materials you have. These bombs help vary up combat and stealth situations.

+ The parkour hasn’t really seen any changes except for one improvement; the hook blade. An attachment to your hidden blade, the hook blade allows you to traverse buildings much faster by increasing your reach, as well as being able to go down zip lines. It can also be used in combat to trip enemies. It’s a small but useful feature.

+ Managing the brotherhood has more depth in Revelations as you now have to make sure that your territories are secure from Templar attacks. You are also able to remove Templar presence from cities across Europe which give you money and resources for bombs.

    What I don’t like:

    - The outside Animus story really isn’t great. After the events of Brotherhood, Desmond finds himself trapped on a digital island. The only interaction with a character he has is with Subject 16 who we see glimpses of in previous games. His appearance is out of the blue and to be honest, doesn’t add a great deal to the narrative.

    - Another point on the outside Animus sections are “Desmond’s Journeys”. The first-person perspective is an interesting experiment, but it’s too slow and really not that engaging. It was interesting to learn about Desmond’s past, but at the end of it all, you don’t really get anything out of it.

    My Overall Thoughts:

Finishing ACR felt like an end of an era for the franchise, and in a way, it is. Ezio’s conclusion serves as a turning point in the franchise where things start to become very different, and in some cases not for the better.

Is ACR dramatically different from its predecessor? No, not really, but what I can say for sure is that the story is far more compelling. The hook blade and the bombs help vary up the gameplay a bit, and other pre-existing mechanics have been polished.

The outside Animus sections of the game are the only disappointing parts of the game for me, which is a shame since everywhere else in the narrative is brilliant. Desmond’s Journeys were a drag to get through. Luckily, these are optional segments.

If the review didn’t give you a good enough impression already, I couldn’t recommend this game enough. The world, the characters, the story and the music combine together to make a gripping and beautiful end to Ezio’s story.

    My Final Rating:

    9.6/10.

Pros: nice ending to the Ezio saga. Great graphics for its release date. Istanbul is a nice change after two games in Italy. The tower system is polished.

Cons: calling the assassins to help you can make the game too easy. Controls remain highly frustrating: a false move and you jump in the void.

Assassins Creed: Revelations is not just about reliving Ezio, but also reveals the story of early days of Altair (Story continues from where Assassins Creed ends), Desmond Miles and Clay, i.e, Subject 16 of Abstergo. The Story of Ezio continues where it last left off at Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. The storyline was again outstanding with lot of intense fights and Combat Experience. New Mechanics were introduced in the game like Crafting Bombs and their respective missions. Just like previous game, Inorder to achieve full Synchronisation, We have to relive memories the exact same way as being told. The game almost has every aspects like Graphics, Horse Riding, Use of Parachute, a lot of Side Quests carried from the previous title, i.e, Assassins Creed: Brotherhood. The Story of Ezio ends on a high note which further sets the platform for Assassins Creed III.

There are some annoying bugs and some missions are a pain in the a** (the optional objectives) but the bomb system, the story, the many interesting side stories make more than up for it. 10/10 (you may need to delete systemdetection.dll (or something smilar) to play on win10)

starting to pick up where I left off a decade ago with AC: Brotherhood. this game is an improvement upon ACB. it kind of reminds me of AC1 the original - my ALL TIME FAVOURITE. more assassinations, more fighting, less stupid chores (ie: driving a tank....) the cities are more vibrant and places are more populated. ACB is just too spread out and way too boring.

(I'm speaking from the pov of someone who HAS NEVER TOUCHED any of the modern AC games (as of Spring 2020). only truly diligently from AC1, AC2, ACB and now this. hope it helps.)

    Fucking great game
reason: you can live altair's and ezio's memories in same game
the ending of the game just gave you goosebumps
the main antagonist is not much impressive
game focuses on ezio life after brotherhood and his search for altair's hidden knowledge also give you feeling thaat antagonist is too weak for ezio
many people have problem with uplay (ubiisoft game launcher)
Personally I also didn't like it but it made to protect the game from piracy
pirated copies will not able to access exclusive online stuff of game like multplayer , investments , etc.

Everything is good aside from one Altair mission where it just kicks me to the steam page. Have played this mission 5 times now and it has kicked me all those times. Running at over 200 frames so I know that's not the problem.

Awesome game! The entire Ezio trilogy is fucking fantastic. Little outdated on some parts, but story in these games will always stick with me.
