Die Wiederbelebung der Tafelrunde
Versammle deine Ritter und schicke sie auf Reisen voll anspruchsvoller, strategischer Kämpfe! Stelle ein Team von Helden aus sechs Klassen zusammen (Verteidiger, Streiter, Scharfschütze, Vorhut, Arkanist, Weiser). Erhöhe ihre Stufen, sammle einzigartige Fertigkeitspunkte und rüste die besten Gegenstände aus, die du auf deinen Missionen erbeuten kannst. Doch Vorsicht! Helden können sterben, und die Behandlung ihrer Verletzungen, Flüche und Krankheiten braucht Zeit. Kümmere dich zwischen den Missionen darum, dass Camelot die richtigen Einrichtungen zur Genesung hat, und bereite verschiedene Helden für verschiedene Reisen vor.

Der Werdegang eines Monarchen
Auch du als König hast eine Persönlichkeit, die durch deine Handlungen und moralischen Entscheidungen geprägt wird. Das Moraldiagramm zeigt dir an, wo du zwischen Christentum und altem Glauben, zwischen Tyrannei und Rechtschaffenheit stehst. Deine Entscheidungen wirken sich auf die Werte des Diagramms aus und beeinflussen sowohl das Gameplay als auch die Geschichte.

Das Gewicht deiner Entscheidungen
Knight's Tale bietet vier verschiedene Schwierigkeitsmodi, vom entspannten Geschichtenerzählen bis hin zu den zermürbendsten Kämpfen, die Avalon je gesehen hat. Wer eine noch größere Herausforderung sucht, kann auch den "Rogue-like"-Modus ausprobieren. Darin zählt jede noch so kleine Entscheidung – nicht nur die moralischen Entscheidungen, sondern auch deine Aktionen im rundenbasierten Kampf. Die Kampagne erinnert an ein Rogue-like: Keine zweiten Chancen, nur Bedauern! Der Nervenkitzel, mit Konsequenzen klarkommen zu müssen, ist bereits einmalig, aber deine Entscheidungen beeinflussen auch die Geschichte. Jeder Spieldurchgang kann sich anders entwickeln und auf unerwartete Weise verzweigen.

Das Ende ist erst der Anfang
Wenn du die Kampagne durchgespielt hast (einmal oder über mehrere Zweige), wird das Endspiel freigeschaltet, das nur den tapfersten Kriegern vorbehalten ist. Schwerere neue Herausforderungen erscheinen dann auf der Karte, die mit mythischen Bosskämpfen, zufälligen Quests, mehr Beute und Figurenentwicklung aufwarten und mit der Verbannung von Balor, dem monströsen Gottkönig der Fomori, enden.

Keine Updates und keine Kommunikation der Entwickler.

Spiel hat großes potential jedoch sind 20% des Spiels Fertig gestellt. Viele Funktionen sind nicht implementiert.

Sehr schade und eine ziemliche Verarschung zumal ankündigt war monatliche Updates, letztes update war im Februar.

EIne interessante Mischung aus Diablo Reihe/Path of Exile, vom Laufen und Looten sowie das Charakter Menu.
Graphisch sehr düster und angenehm .
Wie in Baldurs Gate oder andere Spiele wo man separate Auswahl hat zum Guten und Bösen Herrscher heran zu wachsen . Die Gruppe besteht aus unterschiedliche Helden/Ritter mit unterschiedliche Waffen und Skills.
Wer früher Shining Force or Fire Emblem gespielt hat ,kennt sich betreffend des Kampfstyls bestens aus, wie hohes Gras oder Gebäude Trümmer bieten Schutz.

Die Hauptkampagne und unterschiedliche Auswahlmöglichkeiten von Nebenmission bieten deinen Helden Aufstieg Möglichkeiten und Fund von neuen Waffen und Ausrüstungen .

Das Spiel ist zwar momentan noch in einer frühen Entwicklungsphase (EA), aber man sieht jetzt schon, dass hier eine Perle entsteht. Vieles ist schon wunderbar gebalanced. Hier und da fehlt es natürlich noch an Content und Kleinigkeiten, aber das wird sich in den nächsten Monaten definitiv ändern. Wer taktische Rundenkämpfe und das Mittelalter-Setting liebt, wird mit diesem Spiel in jedem Fall seinen Spaß haben. Hab selten so einen guten Early Access-Titel gesehen. Hab zur Zeit der Rezension etwa 6h Spielzeit und bin sowas von gehooked.
Im späteren Spielverlauf könnt ihr eure Charaktere aufleveln, die sich in unterschiedliche Klassen wie Champion, Defender, Marksman, Schurke usw. aufgliedern. Da ihr allerdings nur 4 Leute auf jeder Mission mitnehmen könnt, müsst ihr entscheiden wen ihr mitnehmen wollt. Eine ausgewogene Truppe mit Nah- und Fernkämpfern schadet auf jeden Fall nicht. Sollten einige eurer Weggefährten mal verletzt oder verflucht worden sein, könnt ihr sie in eurer Burg Camelot behandeln lassen. Die Burg selbst lässt sich auch nach und nach ausbauen. Hierzu werden Gold und Bauressourcen benötigt, was ihr nach erfolgreicher Mission neben den eingesammelten Items als Belohnung erhaltet. Die Motivation eure Charaktere aufzuleveln und eure Burg auszubauen ist riesig. Das Spiel ist einfach awesome. Klarer Daumen nach oben. Für mich bereits jetzt ein 9/10, bin gespannt wie es mit der Entwicklung weiter geht.

Mega geile Rundentaktik

Hat was von X Com mit nen paar feinen unterschieden. EInziger Makel (wie bei X Com) mit fortgeschrittenem Level werden die Kämpfe zunehmend zu einfach und ich fand das die Entscheidungen die man trifft sich noch zu wenig auf Welt und Skillbaum ausgewirkt haben...aber ist ja auch noch alles Early Access. Das man während einer Mission nicht speichern kann fand ich anfangs nervig ...aber es trägt sehr stark dazu bei das man taktisch vorgehen muss.
Freue mich auf das fertige Spiel und wünsche mir vor allem noch Riesen, Drachen, Orks e.t.c. An den Raubrittern, Ziegenmenschen und Skeleten hat man sich schnell satt gesehen und das man die Gruppe später auf 5 b.z.w 6 Charakter aufstocken kann.
Ich kann nur jedem der X Com und Mittelalter Fantasy mag das Spiel ans Herz legen.Hab für den ersten Durchlauf ca 14 Stunden gebraucht und für mich haben sich die 35€ echt gelohnt. Bugs sind mir keine aufgefallen.

Bisher ganz nett. Coole Story (man kann gut oder böse sein, bzw. Christ werden oder dem alten Weg folgen), dunkle Atmosphäre, schöne Musik. Gelungene EarlyAccess, aber noch ausbaufähig (mehr Quests, interessantere Ausrüstungsgegenstände). Für Rollenspieler, die gerne rundenbasiert kämpfen empfohlen. Allerdings sollte für den Preis noch eine Menge mehr kommen. Ich freue mich auf mehr und hoffe, dass das Spiel auch bald auf Deutsch unterstützt wird und Steam-Errungenschaften freigeschaltet werden. Ist eben Kickstarter-Founded, also Geduld. Weiteres folgt
So far quite nice. Cool story (you can be good or evil, or become a Christian or follow the old way), dark atmosphere, beautiful music. Successful EarlyAccess, but still expandable (more quests, more interesting gear). Recommended for role players who like to fight turn-based. However, there should be a lot more to come for the price. I'm looking forward to more and hope that the game will soon be supported on German and Steam achievements will be unlocked. Is just Kickstarter-Founded, so patience. More to come.

Also bisher muss ich sagen lohnt der Kauf echt nicht. Man hat weder Quests noch sonstwas. Man muss lediglich stumpf Gebiete clearen das war es. Ab Start der Mission bis zum ende kannst Du weder Speichern noch ins Inventar etc schauen -.- Zum looten gibts pro Map ca 2-4 Kisten/Leichen...WOW!!!
In der Burg kann man 3 Gebäude aufbauen(Später mehr) Dort stationiere ich einen Begleiter zum regenerieren der Vita.... es dauert ganze 3 Missionen lang bis er wieder voll ist. In der Zwichenzeit ist der Rest der Gruppe 1 Level weiter. Wie albern...
Zwar kann man es später hoch skillen jedoch steigen ja auch die Werte der Helden.

Das Spiel ist im momentanen zustand ca 15€ Wert aber niemals 35€.

joa an sich ein gutes Game man kann es gut mit Darkes Dungen vergleichen bloss mit Diabolo 2 still^^

an sich kann ich momentan nicht viel sagen dir steht nicht alles von deiner Burg zu Verfügung (ealy acces eben) alles testen kannst du auch nicht weil es zu teuer ist !
und mit den Mission´s Sachen in dem Fall gold und Handwerk bekommst du die Burg auch nicht schnell hin , dazu kommt das du momentan eben die 34.99 zahlen müsstest und eben nur ne Demo <----< bekommst also ihr bekommt das Game aber nur 2 Hauptmission und 2 Nebenmission ob sich das wirklich lohnt weis ich wirklich nicht .
ich persönlich gebe dem spiel ne gute Möglichkeit ein gutes Game zu WERDEN allerdings muss eben noch sehr viel passieren .

werde allerdings noch mal was dazu schreiben wenn man auch vernünftig was schreiben kann weil wie gesagt aus 4 Mission naja das lohnt sich so erstmal nicht aber damit wisst ihr schon mal bescheid wenn ihr das Game nicht unterstutzen wollt wartet lieber den es ist ne menge Geld für das was man momentan bekommt

Das Game ist echt super gelungen. Schöne Grafik , toller Sound + gute Story.
Aber Vorsicht wo ist der Content ????? 3-4 Stunden Spielzeit für 35 Euro ??????

Klar es ist EA aber 3-4 Stunden Story Content echt jetzt ???????

Habe heute meinen ersten EA Run in King Arthur gestartet und muss sagen, es gefällt mir bislang sehr gut ???? Die Grafik sieht sehr beeindruckend aus für ein XCom like game, die Steuerung ist gut durchdacht und einfach gehalten, sowie auch die GUI. Es macht Spass durch die Gewölbe herumzustreifen, nach Loot und Encounters zu suchen. Als XCom Veteran der ersten Stunde hoffe ich dass die Devs diese Solide Arbeit an dem Spiel fortführen und es tu einem glänzenden Ende bringen werden ....

The current version of the game only includes Act I, but it's looking really good, and I have high hopes for the full release of the game (4 Acts) in a about a month from now. The story is a bit dark but good, the characters are very good, graphics are excellent (I love those shiny armors), and combat is quite addictive. I have not encountered any bugs during my 27 hours playthrough of Act I, which was a pleasant surprise for an alpha version. So, all in all, kudos to the developers who put together this gem, and keep up the good work!

I loved the game, game is good. Game has a nice visuals, nice story and good mechanics.
It's just that I started a save, played it about 4 hours or so, came back to it next day and now I can't play the game anymore. It crashes every time I load to the save. I verified game files, didn't help. Tried googling, didn't find an answer what would help, I contacted support over a week ago, no answer. So either I start a new save and hope this won't happen again without knowing for sure it won't and waste 4 hours trying or I wait till some patches comes and hope it fixes that. Until I can actually play the game, I can't recommend it.

EDIT: Got an answer from devs, now we'll see if they can get an answer why my save keeps crashing.

I'll keep this short and to the point. This is a great game. After purchasing two newer games that promised much but delivered little i found out that the third time is the charm. Love turn based tactics combined with great graphics and story with some castle upgrading on the side? Then this is the game for you. Like dark fantasy with a medieval setting with characters that seem pulled from a Dark souls game? Go for it. I've gotten about 22 hours in the early access version and i love it. Good job developers! Waiting with anticipation for the full release.

I have been playing sense the game first release into EA on Steam. The first couple of missions got me hooked, but I put it down to wait for the full game as it had just become an itch that couldn't be scratched anymore. Started playing again even though the full release was pushed back. Just finished Act I, and the itch is back. Cannot wait for the full release, and with news of actual end game content I'm excited as you don't see it that much in these styles of games.

Gameplay wise: For me it's a big mix of Darkest Dungeon town and party management, with old school RTS exploration in mission, with Xcom tactical combat. So if you liked any of those games I'd highly recommend giving King Arthur a shot.

Really enjoying it so far.
Has the xcom strategy map, building, soldiers management, and the solid tactical combat.
Voice acting is good, graphics are pretty nice. Sound effects have impact. And the gameplay is enjoyable.

Only caveat so far, all the missions are premade. So replay value might not be great. But different choices, soldiers you can acquire could help that. Maybe 2 or 3 runs.

If you like xcom or turnbased combat, i would recommend it.

This game is a ton of fun. I've been in early access since day one and they've done a great job at adding depth with the major updates. Has a turn-based Diablo kind of feel to it.

I feel confident in writing review after 40 hours spent in this game. Now first thing to mention is it is an early access game. That said, the game is very good but it does have issues i am hopeful will be corrected by release. The game is not very well optimized at this point. there were many areas were it became very slow with lags and stutters in my play. how i fixed this was by lowering some settings and fixing the fps to set 60.
Graphics are very nice and the overall look is very dark which i love. The dialog is very basic and straight forward. sometimes there's only 1 dialog choice when answering someones question. The story is pretty good so far and I look forward to seeing where it goes from here. The side missions are very good and there are plenty of them in between the main story.
the combat is turn based strategic and in my opinion it is very fun and well done. I have been enjoying my time in this game despite the drops in fps i had early on. I look forward to the full release of the game. It is pretty solid and if you love Arthurian legends and tales of Knights of the round table This game is for you. At current price I have already gotten my moneys worth from the game and I feel it is worth a play. I give it about a 7/10 at this point. My rating will change once full release is out and i have played the completed game to see if optimization issues were addressed and to give my impressions of the full game.

This game is a joy to play. I've read 1 negative review that complains about crashes. I'm well in to the game and its ran perfectly, but its an early access game, so don't buy it if you expect to be getting a finished, final product. That said, I'm loving this game. I am a huge fan of the original RTS King Arthur, and this borrows heavily from that game. The aesthetic and some of the mechanics are similar and even the same in some cases, which is a huge plus in my opinion.

This game is gorgeous in respects to art, graphics, atmosphere... I feel total emersion in this game world , im a big longtime fan of all things Arthurian, and a fan of the devs two previous King Arthur games. This game provides an excellent example of how a game world/ series can evolve !

I am playing on a on a IBUYPOWER SLATE MR with a TUFGAMING VG 249 Monitor w, I have not had any of the technical or performance issues that i have read about in the previous reviews for this game. I finished all of the main story line missions that are currently available and am now exploring the side missions that have so far become unlocked.

The Morality system is more refined now than it was in the previous games and very simple to understand .

The base building is also just as easy to use , and reminds me of base building in Darkest Dungeon and XCOM.

Combat including magic, special skills , magic devices etc, for me reminds me very much of the Expeditions Conquistador and Exped Vikings , and XCOM games. All of these are combat systems that I enjoy and are very used to having.

Storyline for me is very interesting to me , and the devs I think did a great job with the lore ! I eagerly await the complete game and the future developments in store for it. Can this game be considered a Dark Ages version of Inquisitor Martyr ? sure in some respects but I also get a strong feeling of this game becoming its own unique entity one day . Overall at this point I can recommend this game at this time if all of the above interest you . Remember its not complete knowing this ahead of time , and then buying the game and posting a review aimed at destroying its credibility is not at all a Knightly virtue ... Likewise if you want the complete game all at once then wait for its release . At the point of finishing the available main missions I think ive got about half a dozen side missions unlocked , I could be wrong . I hope this helps anyone trying to decide wether or not to purchase it yet. I waited from its beginning til 12/23/2021 to finally purchase it , I have no regret about it at this time , good luck and good gaming !

I haven't played enough yet, but what I played I liked a lot.
The best thing about the game is the dark atmosphere. It reminds me of Diablo 1, in the best way :)

If u like x-com and phoenix point then this is the game for you. Arthurian legend motif with base building and perma-death. awesome graphics. Much better tactical gameplay than other rpg's i've played and i've played most of them.

What a fantastic game!! I'm not sure what the naysayers are on about, but this game is a blast. Yes, it is difficult, and you will lose Knights. Oh well. Think Darkest Dungeon in a beautiful, dark 3D environment with the a dead King Arthur and his former Knights of the Round Table as the setting. Great stuff!

The combat is so good, it has almost as much tactical depth as 3e games like Temple of Elemental Evil and Knights of the Chalice. There's a light X-Com layer where you build your base and heal/train heroes. Injury recovery can span many missions, so you'll rotate through a roster of heroes (that can die permanently).

Just wish you could choose to bring more heroes to a mission, a party of 4 just feels too small, especially with all the classes and heroes with unique abilities.

I really like the game.
There is a lot of tactical feature you're going to love.
Every mission has his own unique story and is not just repetitive.
The heroes and their storys are interesting and you will get addicted to some and to some not.
I think someone can see that there is a lot of passion in this game.
There is still a lot to do but even now you can enjoy it.
I hope the developers will go on like this.

Ah and the graphics are great as well :)

XCOM2 but set in ye olde times...

Pros: #1. The graphics are very good (although the game runs like dog water)
#2. Base building (just like in XCOM2)
#3. Smooth combat (not as smooth as XCOM2, but pretty close)

Cons: #1. The 'quirks' that many of the party members have, are pretty irritating
#2. Game runs like dog water (right now... hopefully they can optimise it)
#3. The weapon/armor types are very restrictive ie. only certain 'classes' can equip certain weapon/armor, and I don't see why it needs to be so restrictive... it highly limits the 'RPG freedom factor'

Finished the game like in 17 hours with all side quests finished. The game is a gem, but still needs polishing. You can play only act 1 for now. Basically you make a party of four characters. Game is more difficult at the beginning, once you get some items and build an archer, game becomes quite easy. Well this game feels like x com having a baby with darkest dungeon with the armour and spell mechanics. Hope the game becomes full access soon for everyone to enjoy the game fully. I still recommend the game at this price, the 17 hour I spend was great considering the great game mechanics,thoughtful character development and mediocre story for now

As it stands, don't buy this game. I got through the intro, just fine, but mission two constantly crashes or freezes. There is no rhyme or reason. Different places, dialogue, no dialogue... I've tried windowed mode, full screen, various graphics settings... The only real difference those made was to load times. I don't have a slouch machine and can run just about any game on max graphics without issue. This one runs fine and then doesn't. I can't even save progress within the mission so I can attempt to start off where it crashed.

Graphics are nice, music is good, story seems to be legit. Just can't play the game. I will update review if things change next patch.

I had a ton of fun the first day I played this game. Really entertaining turn based game with interesting and unique customization all set in old times genre.

Day two I experienced the most disappointing disaster of a buggy mess I've ever seen. Game freezes often, sometimes you lose the ability to attack the enemy (don't worry, they also can't hit you) and the camera has a mind of it's own. I've restarted probably 15 missions because of bugs. I'd recommend not buying this game until some serious optimization and bugfixes take place. I understand it's pre-release but this feels like an alpha/pre-alpha.

I don't know what you guys did but I was able to play through before with no issue, now I get constant crashes during battles. I'll reload try to do a different fight and it will freeze 2 fights in and start me back at the beginning of the mission when I load back in. Maybe add a difficulty level where you can save after each fight. Really like that game mechanics but constant crashes don't bold well for any game. Looking forward to future updates.

This game looks awesome and for me, plays very well. I really enjoy the game.

Yes, the updates and communication has been pretty poor and not in line which what was initially stated but given the clear amount of effort going into this game I am not that concerned. We just got a major update to Act 1 and I am looking forward to playing it further.

Devs, please just provide better communication. If you cannot release an update as promised on time that's ok, just keep us informed.

Promised monthly updates, 3 months go by with none, fine. But they can't even be bothered to throw out a quick paragraph on why the delay, what to expect, whatever. I let the hype of a turn based rpg with no rng break my rule of not buying early access games and I have payed for it, literally.

Game was fun but the content released is minimal in contrast as to what was promised by the developers. No updates from devs and now it has been months without anything new released - it really feels like this game has been abandoned. Would not recommend.

The game is fun, its current state is only a short demo. The dev promised monthly update, but only delivered one February update. Now that it's end of May, the dev did not give any information about what is going on. So disappointed!

If you really like this kind of game, I suggest you add it to your watch list, and wait until regular update resumes. Otherwise you will only get a expensive demo, and you cannot get a refund after two weeks of purchase, even if it's early access.

The game started great in early access and I was a member of their Kickstarter. Originally the devs planned for monthly releases, but after some delays, there has been no communications. Genuinely concerned the game has been abandoned.

No communication since launch, would hardly call this a game in the current state - incredibly buggy, shallow gameplay and frankly abysmal scripting and voice acting - which I would forgive if there was even the slightest sign of activity 3 months after purchasing a game that is theoretically in active development.

An unpolished gem. And the emphasis is on; unpolished.
So far the game is really fun and interesting but there is so much more work to be done on it.
Bought it to support the devs. Hopefully they keep the patches coming and keep adding new features and whatnot.

Updates have stopped after just one currently and the developers have disappeared from the forums. There is no communication on anything from the people that have made the game and no idea if it will progress in the future at all. Currently it is a dead game-just take a look at the forums.

TLDR at end

Really REALLY wanna like this game. I was a fan of their Total War style King Arthur games, and have been severely disappointed they never optimized and developed KA2 into what it could be.

This game, in no way, is gonna be ready in 3-7 months. There are tons of QoL improvements that can/need to be made, tho I was happy I can't recall any bugs. I also played thru ALL of the available campaign that is available in my 82 min of playtime, and that included cutscenes etc. The amount of content that is lacking is staggering. Maybe they only want a taster in this release, and this is only a bug test

I really hope I am wrong, but this game has AMAZING potential, but with the current amount of content seems prime for Early Access Abandonware.

TLDR: Tons of potential, want to reverse my recommendation as fans of the devs and prior games, do not believe will follow EA timeframe, too much missing content, prime candidate for proof of concept and abandonware

Will change review, absolutely when 1.0 comes out

Why I gave it a chance: turn based historical rpg with decent graphics and a storyline. I was really looking forward to this one.

What it has going for it:
- armor system is actually pretty good, the mechanic works and adds a layer of tactical strategy in fights
- the storyline is pretty good, although the characters are canned stereotypes
- the turn based combat has a good ui and actually hits the spot between fun and difficult

Why I gave it a negative review:
- $40 price tag for a game that in its current state gives about 5-6 hours of gameplay
- frame rate, this just isn't optimized to warrant a full price release
- ironman mode doesn't save mid mission, so if you mess up just quit out of the game normally and the game will load before you started the mission. Also, since you can't manual save that means if you exit at any point during a mission you have to start over
- stealth option seems like it could be powerful on some units but zero opportunities to actually use it
- Empty maps that seem procedurally generated, and that's not a good thing when so many side paths go nowhere and do nothing
- movement inputs are clunky, and buffered keyboard inputs sometimes continue even after choosing a different move direction (only way to clear the buffer is right click move, this only happens when using WASD)
- progression early is stunted at best, you don't have enough resources to build both the cure wounds and heal vitality buildings when you need them, let alone if your party gets cursed by the first banshee you see
- poor optimization overall

Overall, this isn't worth the price tag as is. This would need another 1-2 years of polish and added content.

im giving it a positive on potential not whats on offer currently
missions currently are a bit bland there is zero customisation on offer no options on changing roles

feels this game probably has a year left to be what it should be so don't waste the 27.99 unless you want a demo

Take Xcom's combat system, remove the RNG and guns, add Darkest Dungeon's base management, slather all of that with a healthy dose of Arthurian Legends and you get this game.

Just finished prologue, Will update after I finish the game.

Update: Finished main missions, took about 44 minutes. There are still few side quests, however the game seems to have a lot of potential coming.

Pros-
- Amazing Soundtrack
-Cinematic also looks really great
- Powerful Story, with even powerful choices.
- Loyalty system, with consequences and rewards.
- Combat is works smoothly.
- Story is immersive and narrative is worked hard on.
-( Will add more as I continue to play)

Cons-
- I have not seen any armor changes, or anything like that.
- No enemy looting.

Bugs and Glitches:
Haven't seen any except, once the voice and lip of a character were not matching. Beyond that, the game is pretty smooth.

(Will update again later).

TL;DR: Great game, with large potential. If you're hesitant, buy it when its on sale.
