Über das Spiel

You have been forced to relocate into Stalburg's most notorious and chaotic district, now under a strict quarantine regime where no one can leave.
You're left there to cope with depression, addiction and maybe even a lethal disease. Survival won't be easy, but remember: the only way is up!

Become the landlord of a run-down tenement
Due to a clerical error, you have received full ownership of an unfinished apartment building.
This rat hole is your base of operations for your upcoming empire.
Upgrade and maintain the building to lease apartments for the Obenseuer's quirky inhabitants, and to build facilities for your growing business.

Decorate your apartment and equip your workshop
Time to make those barren, cold, concrete rooms look nice and cozy.
You can purchase and craft various different furnishing and manufacturing tools that you can place around freely.
The building's basement has enough space for a proper factory of your own.

Grow turnips
Despite the darkness, coldness and wetness of a depressing November, practicing agriculture is still possible!
Farm turnips and potatoes, etc., and convert them into liquid gold for a hefty profit.
Considering one of the probable reasons you ended up in Obenseuer in the first place, you'll probably consume at least some of your own refined turnip juice yourself. Also, having something to eat is pretty nice.

Discover dark secrets
As seen earlier, Obenseuer is home to a myriad of weirdos. Quack! And there are plenty more weird, dark things going on.
Do tasks and quests for various locals and discover what is happening beneath the surface in Obenseuer.

The secret ingredient is crime!
Steal, sabotage and break-in. In Obenseuer there are no rules!
Actually... there are, and the jail, run by the local militia, is not a nice place. So don't get caught!

Cool concept, But you should wait before getting it, buggy as hell and the framerate is unplayable on a decent laptop even with lower graphics settings

Despite being early access the game is very frustrating. A bug with the map where you can fall through has been known for over a year and not fixed. The game mechanics are hard to work with, and I've managed to get locked in a room and unable to get out when I died and re-spawned behind the locked door (which I had previously unlocked!).
The game is very dark to play, and unlike INFRA there's no torch you can use. I seem to spend all my time grinding to find bottles, and shuttling back and forth, and there are no easy guides to know what to do. Items mentioned as available to find such as steel sheet I've yet to come across.

Turnip Hill was the worst chapter in INFRA, and then they took that map and tried making a entire new game out of it! We can all be honest that the only reason people are buying this mess is to support the developers. We are all waiting for the INFRA DLC or sequel - let's have some faith.

In it's current state, the game is playable, however it does have it's fair share of bugs and optimisation issues. Which is what you'd expect.

However the concept of the game and how much you can play currently gives you a good idea of what the game will be about later when it goes out of early access.

The game has a lot of mechanics, it is about resource management and renovating/building your own apartment building to get income from the people who are going to live there. You also scavenge and loot whatever you can and you craft and produce your own alcohol, food and such and make money as best you can in a poverty ridden hellhole.

You also get to battle your crippling depression in the game as well as in real, so the realism is exceptionally. You also struggle with other needs, so it has survival elements, you need to essentially eat, sleep, drink food, manage your addictions to nicotine and alcohol as well as, you'd expect, take a shit once a while or after you eat those goddamn evil bear candies.

But it also has questing, story and lore which makes it all the more interesting, as the world of Open Sewer has a ton of lore to it that you can, if you want, discover and learn about.

That said, the game is in early access, so don't expect it to play perfectly. There are some tools available to help you out as you explore(and get mercilessly stuck or succumb to the bottom of the map) and to get a taste of what the game will essentially be about.

Unplayable for now, too low framerate, menu doesn't work. Walked for 2 minutes and fell down through the floor to the infinite/nowhere... Refunded for now, hope it gets better someday.

Despite being beta-grade and far from finished, OpenSewer is one of those weird games that keeps calling you back.

Hoping the devs eventually expand upon it.

Guys, I really appreciate your effort to bring Turnip Hill back to life, but the end result is far away from what we expect.
INFRA is the BEST game I ever played, it's the only game of it's kind and we love that.
Please, tie closely to original concept and bring us the game we really love (URBEX, puzzles, great story and Source Engine)

Thank you.

Lets be honest, I bought this game because of how much Liked INFRA. But once again Loiste interactive does not disappoint. Now there are a few bugs and the game is quite small right now because of the fact that is is extrememly new and in early access but this is a very unique and interesting game. It has an interesting art style. The game definitely isn't done and could use some improvement but the game in my opinion is very fun. It is one of the most unique games I have ever played. The devs seem very clear that they want to continue improving the game. I would definitely recommend this.

Playing Open Sewer reminds me a bit of Pathologic - in both games the player is placed in a strange and oppressive urban environment in which they have to look after their basic needs (and do other stuff besides). Very atmospheric.

The game is set in the same universe as Infra (the developers’ earlier game) but can be enjoyed without having played any of the latter. (I hadn’t, though playing this made me want to check the other out as well, and I ended up really liking both.)

For lovers of crunchy antihero indie games, Open Sewer is really something special. I'm very glad I took a risk on this one. It reminds me slightly of titles such as Cart Life, or maybe to a lesser extent Diaries of a Spaceport Janitor. While this is described as an RPG, it is much more of a management excercise. The artwork is charming and the atmosphere is thick.

Essentially, you need to find ways to earn money to support yourself (hunger, habits, health, thirst). You are given a dilapidated apartment complex, and fixing it up is no small chore. There are several layers of basic renovation, plumbing and electrical installation, furnishing, among other options. Each layer adds value and therefore increases rent payments. While the whole game is a grind, it's a very fun and satisfying one. Earning money can be done in several ways; you can simply collect garbage and sell or recycle it, brew and distill booze to sell, and of course collect rent once you fix up your apartment complex. It seems that at some point you may be able to even grow vegetables, but I cannot confirm that. One of my favorite parts of this game is how realistic the brewing process is. It pretty much requires every step like IRL. The night and day cycle is great, and even at this early stage - the balance of everything is feeling good. The devil is in the details - even exploring the various aisles in the mini-mart grocery store is a delight.

I could gush on, but at the end of the day, if you like life management sims with an interesting setting and lots to do - you are likely going to have a good time with this. And there is a lot of meat-on-the-bone here too; after four hours of play I have barely made a dent in my renovation efforts, and have only begun tinkering with brewing. I am absolutely still exploring the map.

Pros:
+This is a very unique game; if you like life management simulators with lots to do, this is a must-own.
+The artwork and overall atmosphere is unique and quite charming (albeit cold and dark).
+The balance feels good even at this early stage.
+Has the most realistic brewing system I've ever experienced in a video game, and I love it.
+Managing the myriad of renovations at the apartment complex adds just such a nice thick layer of complexity.
+It's fun and addicting.

Cons:
-Definitely needs some optimization.
-While the world feels alive at times, there is very little 'motion'. Cars don't drive around, and people aren't walking the streets. I mean, it works, but I am curious if these details would add anything.

Truly an indie gem. A must-own and a steal at this price for folks that like this niche genre. I really hope this project continues and has a bright future.

The game has a lot of potential as you run your own tenement in the run down Obenseuer district of Stalburg, you collect bottles and help out other residents to earn a living and to pimp out your decaying building.

The game has a few bugs and some QoL things it needs to iron out but the developers have been responsiveand proactive so far and I believe this game will eventually blossom into the best tenement manger of the year.

I've already put about 9 hours into this game. This is an intriguing spin off of Infra, based off of a specific late game level. The level in question presented itself pretty interestingly, and surprisingly works well as the base concept for a spin off game. You play as some form of undesirable who's been exhiled from Stalburg to a ghetto safely removed from the city. You're stripped of your money and assigned a residency that happens to be a whole apartment block. From there its scrounging bottles for OC coins (the currency used instead of a real money) doing favors, and selling stolen goods to traders all to scrape enough money to start making your empty apartments livable. It's got a strange sort of Stardew Valley feel to it, if instead of a farm you had a run down ghetto, and instead of being a cute farmer you're a depressed alcoholic and mushroom addict. Developers are pretty responsive in their discord, and bugs seem to be fixed as soon as they're reported. Its a little rough around the edges right now but I don't expect it to take too long for it to get polish and new features. Based off of how well they did with Infra, I'd definitely recommend this game in early access. They've delivered on promises before and I'm excited to see where Open Sewer goes.
