Monday Night Combat is a class-based, third-person shooter? and the most popular lethal sport of the future! It blends intense combat, finishing moves, and gameshow-like challenges and rewards to produce an action experience unlike any other. Why fight for ?honor? or ?duty? when you can fight for the real American dream: cash, fame and endorsements?

Key Features:

It?s the Throwback Throwdown in Monday Night Combat! Uncle Tully?s Funland is now available in Crossfire with new game play features! First up we have Chickey Cantor. He will now spawn in Uncle Tully?s Funland. Make Chickey fly away by shooting him and earn a big single-life buff for your entire team! Wait for Chickey to slam the ground and then you can grapple him. Ride him for eight seconds and earn big money! Just be careful, riders tend to be easy targets for enemy Pros. Secondly we?re introducing new bot spawners. These spawners have buttons for specifically spawning Jackbots, Black Jacks, Slims, Scramblers, Gremlins, Gapshots and Bouncers.

Co-op

Blitz mode allow players to defend their Money Ball against armies of robots by themselves or four player co-op over Steam. During various Blitz challenges, players can spend money earned by destroying bots to build defensive turrets around the Moneyball, upgrade one of six unique character classes, or set off robot crushing environment hazards. The Challenges vary from a ten round Exhibition Blitz to endless robot waves of ever increasing difficulty in Super Sudden Death Blitz. Money earned from each Challenge goes into a persistent Lifetime Earnings that allows players to unlock over 370 ProTags, create custom classes, and get ranked on Leaderboards.

Competitive Multiplayer

Crossfire mode pits teams of players against each other over Steam. Each team is supported by an endless stream of robots fighting on their behalf; overwhelming your opponent?s stream, upgrading your Pros, and base defenses will be the key to your success!

Customizable Characters

Each Pro caters to their unique style of play and comes with their own set of upgradeable skills. Customize those skills and abilities even further with a variety of unlockable products in the Custom Class feature.

Persistent Stats

Every game of Monday Night Combat earns the player money that goes towards their Lifetime Earnings. Lifetime Earnings can be spent on unlocking custom classes and buying earned ProTags. How much Lifetime Earnings you have also determines what level you are. Monday Night Combat keeps a large set of persistent statistics for all aspects of gameplay. MNC features over 370 ?ProTags? which are customizable tags you can show off to other players and friends.

Dedicated Servers

Host multiple instances of MNC dedicated servers with full stand alone client.

As the rest of the reviews say, this is basically a dead game. I used to play this on Xbox. If you look around on the interwebz, there is a discord group that still plays on a semi-regular basis. The old MNC forums still get a post from time to time. This was one of my favorite games growing up and I think it's still worth a buy as long as there's even a still very small group of players playing.

If you want to know what happened to the game, the TL;DR is that none of UberEntertainment's games really panned out. They lost a bunch of money and eventually closed their doors.

One of the best new game idea's I've played EVEN when it was 10+years ago.
Fun game modes, Fun characters and great strategies.
The game itself reminded me to Team Fortress2.
It was save to say one of the most games to play between others.
Don't understand why it died quickly, not many bugs or hackers were found back then.
Games were fast and quite balanced.
Would have been better to be released in this era.

It's the anti-TF2 and the spiritual successor to SmashTV, if anyone is ancient enough to remember that NES gem, with Thunderball starring L.L. Cool J.. It could be argued this game is having too much fun, but loosen up ya mope. This game never really got its due. And people sat around waiting for mega corps to remake bloatware like Overwatch, idiots. $5 is very reasonable, for what you get, But its the current year, give it away now.

Legendary game that was so ahead of its time it wasn't even funny. Sadly its successor, Super MNC/SMNC, has been gone from Steam since 2018. Unlikely to get any games on this outside of organized get-togethers. Still, was such an addicting game to play back in its heyday, and they gave it so many free updates before moving on to make SMNC.

Real shame that we're unlikely to ever see another go with the Monday Night Combat IP, because it was such a fun time and the atmosphere got you hyped up like crazy at the start of every match.

This game getting dropped for Super Monday Night Combat in almost no time at all was like the gaming equivalent of the burning of the Library of Alexandria. If you could actually get people to virtual LAN, this game is an absolute banger

Monday Night Combat was a fantastic game. I originally played it on Xbox 360 but quickly bought it on Steam as well. Super Monday Night Combat was also great but it never got the accolades that it deserved. Both games are infinitely more fun than the modern popular MP games but they were both too good for this world.

One of the best multi-player third person shooters I've ever played. Great style and energy, the games were always fun and fast paced with great variety of play-style.

The game is long-dead, but I'd be down if there's a server/Discord out there somewhere still running games just for fun.

This game was pretty much my TF2. I sank so many hours into this game every day when I'd get home from High School and hop on my 360. I still think about how much I love this game ten years later. This game captures the strategy of Tower Defense style games with the unique combination of a class based shooter with the intensity of a great MOBA all combined into an extremely well put together game that's fun for a quick match or to play all day. Monday Night Combat shines in so many ways I couldn't possibly list all of them, but I'd still like to illustrate why this is one of the best online multiplayer games ever made, period.

The combination of Tower Defense, class based shooter and moba makes this game go beyond a lot of issues that these genres of games have on their own. With a good strategy you alone or your team can sneak straight through the lane into their base and quickly win, which in tower defense games normally you just are stuck with an insane amount of enemies that you can't really outsmart which becomes very boring. Also building defenses and different turrets can help fight the enemy teams strategy as well, which makes building turrets thought provoking but you don't have to devote yourself to that aspect either. The classes are very well made and there is no definitively better class (But a team of gunners really sucks to play against) and each plays uniquely and meshes well with others which I think a lot of games (tf2 included) don't do very well. Even if there is someone that just destroys with their class as long as you make sure they don't get bots to push you can still easily win despite the frustratingly good player, which is nice because in a lot of shooters tryhards can ruin a fun game and carry. This doesn't mean that the combat is lacking at all, characters all have small nuances like the snipers grapple that at full upgrades launches people a mile away and often knocks off the map which is an AMAZING feeling when someone rushes you. And lastly on the subject of unique abilities the MOBA qualities here are mostly just the skills you purchase in the match with the currency you get in match and the intensity of pushing bots through the two lanes. Despite the sound, this never felt like the never ending pushing and defending most MOBA's like LoL have. This game encourages you to take different approaches and most levels have multiple ways of reaching an area to flank or even come up behind enemies who are camping and defending. And if you never want to defend, invest all your money in the best turrets and you can focus on a straight on assault. This game lets you play in so many different ways that you will come up with absolutely silly strategies. Resource management becomes an important factor when they are in your base and you are struggling to keep your last two turrets up and the intensity is at its peak at your desperate last stand.

Even beyond this weird mashup of genres that works beautifully there are other unique gameplay features like Bullseye the mascot you literally kill for juice and money which becomes an intense king of the hill match in its own and can be game changing, JUICING which just puts you in godmode for about ten seconds which is also a game changer, and the annihilator which destroys all enemy bots and slightly damages everyone for a price. You can also buy unique bots that can kill enemy players and help you get down a lane and attack the enemy base. All these little quirks let you play in a way that is unique to you but also allows you to greatly change your strategy mid game if nothing else is working.

All these things make this game zany, wild and unpredictable. Nothing feels unfair or broken, matches can be extremely quick or about ten minutes with a sudden death of all out attacking each others base. The maps are incredibly designed and fun to play except spunky cola stage. This game will really doesn't feel like it has aged either to me. The gameplay is so tight and the concept is so fun its just timeless. Really a Masterpiece.

Pros

Timeless cartoon graphics (could use an upscaling but still looks fresh)
Great class based team shooter/tower-defense/MOBA
Great writing and world building, funny as hell

Cons

Might not attract new players other than those who enjoyed it at its peak
Dead game unless you join the fan made Discord server

Overall
Great game, would recommend for the 5$ price tag although the online is pretty dead so you're mostly left with a single-player survival mode.

Back around 2011-2012, I played this game with my dad on the Xbox. I bought it a few months ago here for half a dollar. I wish this game was still alive and well. I never knew this game had a sequel (which i now technically own 4 copies for) and I'm sad that its never coming back because the company behind this got dissolved. some of the staff is now working on Kerbal Space Program 2. Maybe if i could get into contact with any former employees...

Anyway, this game is great. buy it when its on sale though, because barely anyone is playing it currently.

Great game, reinstalled it for some offline bot-action. It was however dissapointing since the main gamemode doesn't support bot play. The only thing to play is a tower-defense wave mode. If you're going to reinstall for the nostalgia, i will suggest finding something else in your library. Love the game though, wish it was still alive :-)

Great game, assuming you have 10 people that you can convince to buy it with you or buy it for them. Does require a little bit of port forwarding on the host's behalf. If you plan to play solo or join randoms then good luck!

This game is excellent - I've only just started playing the single player trials and am really enjoying the shooter and tower defence combination. No-one was online to play multiplayer at the time, and I'm sad to see that this game is no longer popular to play co-op, and hope that we see a resurgence in the future. Well it's only been 5 years since I last played, why not jump back in?

Monday Night Combat is a 6v6 or co-op class based shooter that came out originally on the Xbox 360 and eventually Steam when Flash Sales were still around and Steam Events were still cool. You have 6 classes available: Assault, Gunner, Assassin, Support, Tank & Sniper. They are pretty much exactly as they sound, with 3 available skills that can be upgraded as you collect money from destroyed bots and kills. They don't have much of a personality as characters but this was created as a $15 game. The goal is to defend your money ball while attacking the other teams money ball. You can also activate jump-pads, send additional waves of bots or even save your money for the annihilator. Don't forget to collect those juiceboxes and juice up, equating to an overdrive on your damage and rate of fire for a limited time.

The presentation is still great with an over-the-top major sports leaguegameshow theme. You'll have the occasional mascot to empty your ammo clips on to get money & ammo, a manic-like announcer, & of course the Pit Girl. Map design also follow suit with a future-sports style and there is a decent amount of map variety to experience.

Player count is.....surprisingly high for a 10 year old game. It seems like you can find enough players to join on the weekends and a fair amount still on Steam Discussions to add and start a few matches with. I managed to play a few matches and as you would expect, get pretty much steam-rolled by players who are all at the highest level count. The option for running your own dedicated servers or LAN play probably helps, no P2P connections here.

I'd say at $5, it still might be worth picking up if you have a few friends who are interested in jumping back in. However, when the likes of Overwatch and Paladins are available, I'm not sure what kind of appeal there is beyond nostalgia. Sadly, the vastly superior Super Monday Night Combat has been shutdown for over a year when GDRP compliance came around and was really a ton of fun. Monday Night Combat is fun to revisit every few years to see those 2011 Steam Summer prizes that you unlocked and fill Chickey Cantor with lead.

I remember getting this game around the time it came out, I love it, came back and still love it, even though the multiplayer is dead. I remember when Super MNC came and killed this one, and now it's nowhere to be found. My suggestion for those who want to experience online, Start making a small community and have set times to meet up online, 2 multiplayer servers are still up and functional.

Right now for the Special Promotional price, it's a steal even if you're doing single player. I would like to see this one get revived or a new one to be made, but we can hope.

This needs to be free to play,i believe that could bring it back to life-IDK if the dev even exists anymore,but imo this was way better than its followup. I played this a ton back when it still had a player base,and own it on xbox as well. With the right players on a team it was good for hours of gameplay,even if your team started losing and your teammates bailed, thenext game came up pretty quickly. A forgotten gem of a game...
