In Far Cry 3 übernimmt der Spieler die Rolle von Jason Brody, einem Mann der sich alleine am Rand der Welt wiederfindet, gestrandet auf einer mysteriösen Tropeninsel. In diesem primitiven Paradies, wo Gesetzlosigkeit und Gewalt die einzigen Konstanten sind, entscheidet der Spieler, wie sich die Geschichte entwickelt. Toller Shooter mit ein paar Ermüdungserscheinungen.
Wenn man sich darauf einlässt, dann ist Far Cry 3 ein wirklich guter Ego-Shooter. Das Gameplay macht Spaß und das Waffenhandling fühlt sich wirklich gut an. Die tropische Landschaft ist wirklich wunderschön und es gibt viel zu entdecken. Von der Grafik her ist Far Cry 3 immer noch recht schön. Die Story ist zweckmäßig, aber nicht wirklich ein Meilenstein. Was wirklich im Spiel überzeugt sind die Charaktere, die wirklich cool, abgedreht und stark überzeichnet sind, besonders halt Vaas. Leider werden alle Charaktere so dargestellt, was etwas die Besonderheit nimmt. Dadurch geht zum Beispiel der zweite Hauptbösewicht Hoyt Volker etwas unter.

Überhaupt macht Far Cry 3 nicht wirklich etwas falsch, jedoch nutzt es sich spätestens ab der zweiten Insel etwas ab. Man hat alles schon irgendwie gesehen. Das Erobern der Vorposten macht noch Spaß, aber das Klettern auf den nächsten Funkturm ist nur noch ermüdend. Das ist die Entstehung einer Ubisoftformel, die ich bis heute nicht verstehe. Ständige Wiederholungen. Und auch das Erlegen von Tieren für das Fell zur Herstellung von Taschen ist irgendwann nur noch ermüdend. Dafür sind die Hauptmissionen wirklich bis zum Schluss gut. Dazu kommt der grandiose Soundtrack und die Liebe zum Detail, was manche Spiele bis heute nicht schaffen. Zum Beispiel sind die Feuereffekte wirklich gut und wenn es brennt, dann breitet sich das Feuer auch aus. Das gab es zwar schon in Far Cry 2, aber es ist schön zu sehen, dass das übernommen wurden ist. Auch die Spielwelt ist absolut stimmig gestaltet wurden.

Im Großen und Ganzen ist Far Cry 3 ein recht guter und stimmiger Shooter mit ausgezeichneter Action, aber auch etwas ermüdenden Nebenaufgaben. 8/10 vielleicht sogar 9/10, weil es ein wirklich guter und hochwertiger Ego-Shooter ist.

Far Cry 3 (100% Komplett durchgespielt)

Ich hatte es schon vor Jahren, auf der XBox360 gespielt. Jetzt habe ich die PC- Version (mit nicht so großem Unterschied zur Konsolenversion) durchgespielt.

Es ist ein erstklassisches Spiel, dass Ego- Shooter- Können und Skilltree in dieser Spielereihe mit einander verbindet. Die freischaltbaren Perks sind gut durchdacht und man baut langsam als Spieler die Freude auf, was alles möglich ist dadurch.

Ich habe 36 Stunden gebraucht um es komplett 100% durch zuspielen, in dieser Zeit, hatte ich viel Freude beim spielen, jedoch auch öftere Male wo ich mich aufgeregt habe. Manche Placements von Sammelobjekten, wirkten nicht durchdacht, da es dann schier schwer war dahin zu kommen. Andere Male, glitschte man selber zu Stellen, wo es dann nur schwer war wieder raus zukommen. Dann gab es natürlich auch kleine Probleme, wie Takedown- Befehl war nur kurz da, oder man aktivierte Takedown und es wurde trotzdem nur ein normaler Nahangriff gemacht.

Leider ist das Spiel auf den modernen Systemen (--> Windows 10) nur unter bestimmten Konfigurationseinstellungen möglich, fehlerfrei zu spielen. Doch es beeinflusste nicht das Spielerlebnis.

Pro:
- Ego- Shooter wie man es gewohnt ist plus reale Einflüsse (Balistik, Atembewegungen usw.)
- Takedownsystem wie ein Stealth- Operator und der Skillbaum dazu
- Wunderschöne Paradies- Insel mit tollen Aussichten, auch die Flora und Fauna kann man in dieser Spielwelt genießen

Kontra:
- Glitschprobleme mit Gegnern und selbst als Spieler
- Takedown- Befehl funktioniert nicht immer so, wie es sich die Entwickler bestimmt gedacht hatten
- Der Besuch der zweiten Insel ist erstreckend nur mit langen Wegen für die Sammelobjekte und dann wenig Hauptmission, wodurch die zweite Insel eher so wirkt, als hätten die Entwickler dann echt kein Bock mehr gehabt. Anmerkung: Ich hätte auch kein Bock mehr gehabt, wenn ich eine Insel durchdacht so gut und erstklassich kreiere und dann noch eine zweite Insel machen soll. Wäre vielleicht besser gewesen, alles auf einer großen Insel sich abspielen zu lassen.

Fazit: Klasse Spiel, in meinen Augen besser als Far Cry 5 und Far Cry 6.

Wir haben das Jahr 2021 und ich habe das Spiel Far Cry 3 durch eine kostenlose aktion bekommen vor Jahren. Das Spiel ist von allen Far Cry Titeln eines der besten Spiele und auch noch im Jahr 2021 ein genuss. Aktuell gibt es auf Ubisoft noch (Stand 08.09.2021) das Spiel kostenlos und ja es lohnt sich und sollte sich jeder holen. Von einer Note von 1 Gut bis 6 Schlecht ist es eine 1- da es nach all den Jahren halt nur sehr gealtert ist von der Grafik aber der Rest ist alles super und würde ich jedem weiter Empfehlen.

Eigentlich ein super Spiel.
Leider läuft es absolut besch*ssen auf Moderner Hardware (AMD Ryzen 5 1600, GTX 1070)
Es gibt zwar viele möglichkeiten das zu fixen, leider besitzt das Spiel jedoch einen glitch der die FPS auf 30 stellt. Nichtmal das Nvidia Control Panel konnte dabei helfen diesen glitch zu fixxen...

Sehr kurzweilige Action in schöner tropischer Umgebung.
Viel Spaß macht auch das Befreien der sogenannten Außenposten aus den Händen der Piraten!
Man kann dabei schleichend bis schnell und laut vorgehen , je nach persönlichen Geschmack.
Die Zeit im Game vergeht wie im Flug :)

Ich hab das FC 5 + Dawn geholt und hab das FC 3 Gratis dazu bekommen. Es ist einfach geil für 2012 nee Gute Grafik und ein Gutes Oben World spiel.Ich Ägere mich bisel es so spät gespielt zu haben weil nach teils 1-2 habe ich das spiel abgeschrieben damals.Aber es macht jetzt doch richtig Laune man Fühlt sich wie ein Navy Seal wen man durch die Insel Tigert.Ich kann es weiter empfehlen und für alle wo immer auf Sale warten um so besser ;-)

Anders als meine angebliche Spielzeit vermuten lässt (damals viel offline gezockt) hatte ich echt viel Spaß mit Far Cry 3.

Für mich immer noch das beste Far Cry - und nein: Nicht nur wegen Vaas. Den vierten Teil sowie Far Cry Primal kann ich ebenfalls empfehlen. Von allen neueren Teilen der Reihe würde ich jedoch die Finger lassen.

Insbesondere für meinen persönlichen Geschmack hat Ubisofts Open-World-Formel mit Far Cry 3 ihren Zenit erreicht.

Volle Empfehlung für diesen höchsten Flug der Reihe.

FarCry 3

Der Ruhm des beliebten Singleplayer-Shooters von Ubisoft kommt nicht von irgendwo her. Die geniale Inszenierung, Story, und Map fesselten mich praktisch an dieses Spiel. Grund dafür ist auch der ausgezeichnete Antagonist Vaas Montenegro. Die Gameplaymechaniken und die von anderen FarCry-Titeln oder der Assasins-Creed-Reihe bekannte Ubisoft-Formel wurde in diesem Spiel perfektioniert und findet Gefallen. Zusätzlich zu den Story-Abschnitten, erobert man Stück für Stück die ganze Karte und schaltet immer mehr nützliche Fähigkeiten und stärkere Waffen frei.
Eine absolute Weiterempfehlung.

Far Cry 3 ist ein sehr geiles Spiel. Dieses Far Cry leitet eine Generation ein, die bis heute noch in neuen Spielen erkennbar sind. Far Cry 3 bietet sehr viel an, neben der Hauptstory, die sehr umfangreich und abwechslungsreich ist, kann der Spieler sehr viele Nebenstorys machen. Außerdem gibt es 120 Relikte zu sammeln, 20 verlorene Briefe und eine Menge an Außenposten einzunehmen. Interessant sind auch die Jagd-Missionen, wo man besondere Tiere erlegen muss. Wenn man Far Cry 3 hört, muss man an Vaas, den Antagonist dieses Spiel, denken. Dieser Charakter bringt so viel Tiefe in diesem Spiel und ist einer besten Charaktere in der Videospielbranche. Die Musik fetzt auch verdammt hart zum Beispiel beim Verbrennen der Hanfplantagen. Natürlich bin ich öfter gestorben, aber ist bei einem Far Cry auch nicht anders zu erwarten. Es gibt so viel zu tun und deswegen ist das Spiel eine klare Kaufempfehlung.

Far Cry 3 ist für mich der beste Far Cry Teil, wenn man den ersten Teil (Far Cry) nicht einbezieht. Die Missionen sind unterschiedlich, bieten Abwechslung, haben Flair und die Spielzeit ist auch optimal gewählt. Das Spiel wird nicht langweilig und die Suche nach Gegenständen hält sich in Grenzen. Auch die Kämpfe und Schießereien wurden gut umgesetzt und machen diesen Teil der Far Cry Serie zu einer Empfehlung.

FÜr mich immernoch das beste Far Cry. Man merkt nichtmal, das es mittlerweile fast 8 Jahre alt ist. Bomben Grafik, Gute Story und es gibt immer was zu tun.

Die Geschichte über eine Touristenfalle

Ihr strandet als typisch wenig weltbeflissener US Collegestudent - das sind diejenigen, die sich in Urlauben großer Mengen Alkohol der Mutprobe und der Feier wegen exponieren, um ihr schnödes, spießiges und eintönig-monotones Leben zu konterkarieren - auf einer Insel und verbringt mit Euren Freunden (die fürs Spiel weitestgehend vernachlässigbare Persönlichkeiten sind) einen tollen Urlaub - zumindest bis sich herauskristallisiert, dass diese große Insel in Wahrheit nur eine große Touristenfalle von Piraten, die Euch gnadenlos nach dem Leben trachten, ist. Wie Vieh pfercht man euch in einen Käfig, um euch anschließend als Geiseln wieder zu verkaufen.
Ihr könnt jedoch fliehen. Dabei ist es eure Aufgabe die Anderen zu retten und auf eurem Weg lernt ihr viele neue Freunde und Verbündete kennen, deren Missionen ihr erfüllt. Stets dicht auf den Versen ist Euch der Piratenboss Vaas Montenegro.
Macht Euch auf Überraschungen gefasst.
Die (Haupt) Missionen sind trotz der Open - World levelmäßig und linear aufgebaut. Als störend empfand ich dies jedoch nie, mir haben Sie viel Vergnügen bereitet.
Selbstverständlich nutzt ihr das volle Potential der Insel, ihr könnt jagen um das Leder zu verkaufen, sodass Ihr wiederum neue Waffen erwerben könnt. Außerdem warten nette Nebenmissionen auf euch.
Die Notwendigkeit neue Waffen zu kaufen entfällt bei Freischaltung der Türme, die über die große Open-World verteilt sind.
Apropos Open-World: Diese ist nicht dermaßen einfach freizuschalten, dazu müsst Ihr die Piratenbasen übernehmen, indem ihr jeden um sein Leben erleichtert. Anschließend werden Eure Freunde die Kontrolle über die Region übernehmen.

Urteil: Auf jeden Fall besser als ein Just Cause, wird Far Cry 3 bei mir für die Geschichte und das Setting in Erinnerung bleiben, denn damals 2013 waren Open-World mit freischaltbaren Türmen eher selten. Wer ein packendes Spiel mit einer wunderschönen und abwechslungsreichen Open-World sucht, der wird hier fündig!

Eine fesselnde Story... auch wenn das Spiel schon ein paar Jahre auf dem Buckel hat, schön anzusehen... mit 32 Stunden Spielzeit, bis auf ein paar Jagdmissionen und Relikte, viel zu erleben... und ja... klare Kaufempfehlung!...

Far Cry 3 is an awesome game that has aged quite well. Great story, okay characters and fun battles. I think FC5 has a much better story and characters, but this is pretty freakin' good.

One of my favorite games of all time I just hope Ubisoft would release more FarCry games like this. This game is something you just can't experience in that many other games. Man I love this game :/

Undoubtedly the best game in the Far Cry Series. Not mainly because of the protagonists. The story setup was cool, how it started and how it ended. Characters were very much interesting, locations were great. Considering this game is almost a decade old, it has great replay value. The graphics don't even look bad, and you can easily achieve 100% completion compared to the recent installments in the franchise. Only criticism that I can perhaps say is the second half felt dragged a little bit, game felt slow paced once you kill Vaas. And perhaps vehicle handling.

Just a head up to anyone looking to buy this game you'll have to enter your Ubisoft account password EVERY time you go to play a game from steam. It didn't use to be this way but ever since they stopped releasing games on steam they enacted that policy. This game is legendary but the uplay launcher absolutely sucks.

Far Crash 3..... after you workaround the 200 crashes this game has,,,, it will still crash every now and then... but the game is fine otherwise... story is nice and there's skrillex music in the game.

Far Cry 3 is an authentic diamond among the production of those years. A bit not polished yet, still too harsh at times, but close to perfection. Moreover, the trick is that the Canadians have managed to achieve it without looking for any new solutions. The game is almost entirely based on solutions and concepts that are already known, proven and often used. However, it is an excellent example that a well-thought-out, coherent and finished concept can win as much as uncompromising originality.

Developed by Ubisoft Montreal - enough said.
Weird DRM / always-online for SP nonsense; among other issues.
It's the same Ubi branch who created the horrible Farcry 6 with it's backwards politics - forced upon the player for no reason - which adds nothing to the story. Expect the same for all titles touched by them.

I will write this review right after purchasing the game. The first time I played this game on the day of its release in 2012, since then I liked it very much, I went through it almost every year and in total, about 10 times I already passed it) I remember this game with a cool storyline and Vass is one of the coolest and damn charismatic villains in games. So I decided that it was enough to play this game from the torrent and bought it. I will continue to go through it and recommend it to you) This world is beautiful and juicy! And you will get a lot of emotions. And yes ... did you know what madness is?)

After revisiting this game I must say yes, the gameplay/gunplay is pretty good, the setting is good and the story is... fine, I guess? It has many good features that, of course, no FC game had before because up until 3 all titles of the franchise were their own thing (while still being gems imo).

Unfortunately tho, with the amount of features it has to make your life easier, the overall gameplay just becomes too easy. I always considered FC2 and especially FC1 to be notoriously difficult, but FC3 feels like a walk in the park compared to those.
When you play you also quickly realize that you want to grind xp (by stealthing and headshotting) and upgrade gear, which might be okay for your first playthrough, but kind of kills replayability. It's especially a problem because of the suprisingly bad AI, which is only good at shooting you when you're in sight and nothing else.

Thankfully, there's a mode which fixes most of these problems, you only need someone to play with. The Co-op mode!
With a team of up to 4 you play a different campaign with people who have far less abilities than Jason, it adds new mechanics (buffs for teammates and even more weapon customization) and is overall rather difficult because of how many enemies spawn, which allows you to finally make use of all the gunplay this game has to offer. Almost every gun gets a purpose and can be used in loadouts which you can switch between at every checkpoint.

Unfortunately I'm still experiencing a bug I have yet to fix which prevents me from joining my friend's lobby (and the other way around), even tho public games are not a problem. You can bypass this problem with a VPN tho.

All things considered, you're gonna have a great time with this gem of a game and is even worth the full price. 10/10

The game is fine. It's one of the better Far Cry games. No problem with the game itself.

My problem is with the port. It just doesn't run/perform well on modern hardware. Had fewer problems with AMD GPU compared to NVidia, but it's still a mess. Choppy, performance, frequent crashes. Apparently too many threads/cores is a problem, so I've messed a lot with limiting those, tweaking thread affinity. Tried to run it on Linux with Proton. Went through the huge, multi-page community doc on how to get the game to run stable... It's better, but not great.

The only thing the developer did to bring the game up to modern age is bundle it with a garbage launcher that stops the game from even booting when it doesn't feel in the mood and keeps asking you to enter the password every other time.

Don't give this release your money (17GBP at the time of writing) until the developer puts in the minimum effort to make sure you'll be able to even run it without crashing for more than an hour. This is not a poor Indy dev who needs all the support you can give.

WARNING! If you have any of the RTX2000 or 3000 series graphics cards and windows 10, you'll have an extremely hard time playing this game. 2 hours in I was getting crashes to desktop every 5 minutes or so. Neither of my 2 systems will play this game.

Even after like 4 other entries, this is still the best Far Cry game. (Besides Blood Dragon)

EDIT: After having played it now on a modern PC, i should mention the game is riddled with technical problems now that have added up over the years. Stuff from LOD/pop-in being really janky, to the map being unusable sometimes when you open it, to the game crashing when all i did was take a Steam screenshot lol. (That's the only time it's crashed so far though)
I still recommend it, despite the bugs on modern systems. I doubt Ubisoft will fix anything since they generally don't support their older games unfortunately. But it's still playable fine, and it has the best world design and story of the main series in my opinion.

A very... strange game. Some of the plot felt really confusing and drug-induced - but I think that was the point? Other parts of the plot felt pretty dark and gritty, which was really cool. Definitely a slow burn, the first few hours are incredibly confusing and boring. The end of the game is extremely captivating.

The open world is incredibly annoying to traverse and the activities feel rather repetitive. The combat, cutscenes, and lore are pretty good. Graphics hold up nearly a decade later.

Overall, if you can get it on sale, totally worth it.

Still the best Far Cry Game. Amazing open world, lots of things to do. Back when climbing watch towers was actually fun.

Pros:
- Beautiful tropical open world to explore; on foot, car, quad, hang glider etc.
- Plenty of weapons and other explosives.
- Lots of interesting side missions and enemy outpost to clear.
- Probably the best Villain in a game.

Cons:
- Main character and his friends are not really very likeable (silent protagonist would have worked better I guess, not a big deal though).
- Second map gets introduced very late in the game, felt a bit unnecessary or should have been added a lot earlier in the campaign.
- A few more minor story issues but would be too spoilery so won't say much here.

In short Far Cry 3 is the template of the modern open world game. Enemy outposts to clear in any way you like, cars and other vehicles to drive around. Different animals to hunt, even climbing the watch towers to open the maps was so much fun. Even later Far Cry games couldn't match this one in terms of fun. They overdid a few things like adding too many enemies and wild animals etc.

P.S Pricing is a bit stupid here on Steam though. Deluxe version is usually sold at 3 times the price of the Standard version (during sales) even though it only adds a handful of extra missions.
So either just buy the standard version when its on sale or if the difference between Standard and Deluxe is negligible then get the Deluxe for the complete experience. You will have a great time with this game. Already completed this game twice.
In fact going to download this again as I want to play it again :)

Far cry 3 is a classic Ubisoft open world game but the story and 1 character in particular make it worth playing.

Far cry 3 follows your typical “arsing about in a bush” gameplay I.E Hiding from enemies and collecting plants for crafting. Most people will enjoy that kind of gameplay even if it is a bit overdone. The combat is good enough to keep you amused, but will get boring if you get stuck in a tough fight. The game world is pretty good looking even by todays standards so its definitely worth spending some time exploring all it has to show.

The main draw for me however was the games plot. You are an ordinary young adult on a lads trip with your friends when you get captured by pirates. The story explores the transformation from classic American tourist into ruthless tribal killer. The primary antagonist of the game is in my opinion the greatest villain every put in a game. He is so entertaining to watch that you just cant help but want to see what he does next, he also serves as a great parallel for the protagonist who started out innocent but devolved to reach the villains level. This however is kind of ruined in the final act of the game.

Overall it’s a pretty standard Ubisoft game but with an exceptional story

By far the best far cry game who gives me a lot of memories.
story is great when u come to the rook island with your friends, later Vaas captures u and your brother in some slave camp and u need to escape, when u get out of slave camp Vaas kill your brother and u are on ur own to find your little brother and your friends.

FUCK Ubisoft and it's stupid fucking launcher !!
Especially the people or the guy, whoever, from Ubisoft suggested that ubisoft should have its own freakin' launcher! WHY?!?! Steam is enough! There is no need for another launcher!
It makes my computer and especially the game, SLOW!
This cheap looking launcher itself is very slow.

Did I ever tell you what the definition of insanity is? Insanity is doing the exact... same f*cking side quest... over and over again expecting... it to change... That. Is. Crazy. The first time somebody told me that I would be fetch questing, I dunno, I thought they were bullsh*tting me, so, I shot him. The thing is... He was right. Can't recommend because of the same Ubisoft bullsh!t that is pulled time and time again. And for such an old game. I don't care about connecting to your crap. I don't care about synchronizing achievements. And I sure as 4uck don't care about your damn cloud saves. Steam literally has all of this covered. But what happens when you try to connect automatically to your cloud saves? You crash my game and ruin 20 minutes of progress. I remember this game being incredibly fun, but Ubisoft's crap ruins it. There's ways to avoid all that nonsense, and it requires you to learn the letter arrrr.

Played this game growing up on an old Xbox 360 - and so thrilled to be able to play it again. The storyline and characters are fantastic. I've never had such an immersive experience in any game before - and this time round has been such a wild ride. Strongly recommend.

Well, this game is a bit of a special one, isn't it?

I streamed this on twitch and I enjoyed the gameplay and the graphics.

That is about all the positive there is about the game, Far Cry 3's story makes no sense at all and the ending is even weirder than any game I've played up to this point, I did one ending and then I went and looked upon the other on youtube with my chat and we were all very shocked that such a solid game could fail so hard on the story.

Gameplay well it is a Far Cry game, guns, bad guys, pew stuff dies, but with the new Ubisoft model of crafting/exploring and tons of side quests to improve and upgrade your gear, pretty standard for a Ubisoft game.

Graphics Far Cry 3 did age very well and still looks absolutely stunning across the board no matter what you do you should honestly take a few moments and just enjoy the world you are in.

Story-wise this game is well shit, it really is horrible, these guys bad you kill these guys, why? well, coz they are bad and do bad things aka kidnap your friends who were stupid enough to take a holiday on a drug cartel-controlled island, who the hell does that ?!

This is what Far Cry is all about tho, so it is a good installment in the series but if you are hoping for a Far Cry that has a super deep story you will be disappointed, I will still recommend it as it provides EVERYTHING you expect from a Far Cry game, action, guns, free world, exploring and more action.

Ow and a special mention for Vaas for being a better bad guy than the ACTUAL bad guy.

So yea recommended for sure!

One of (if not) the best Far Cry games out there, despite being nerfed and remade in a lit of ways by Ubi - this game is still totally awesome, my second favorite game in fact.
Absolutely recommend if you haven't played it yet.

Not loving this game is a definition of insanity, loved it when it came out, still love it now.
The island, the characters... everything! Overall, a great sandbox.
The only derp is the necessity of Uplay even if the game is bought through Steam, which is absurd, but not even that can ruin an otherwise great game.

do you really need to go to the recommendations for this game ? you know this game, you've heard of it at least once and/or saw gameplay at least once in your entire life. Everyone says it's good, it's one of those rare games you can buy blindly.

So, it took me a long time to finish Far Cry 3.

Far Cry 3 is a masterpiece developed by Ubisoft. The gameplay mechanics is really great, realistic and motivating. Graphics are super realistic too, and the environment let's you feel like you are truly in the jungle (e.g. flammable objects). However, wildlife is a bit unrealistic (e.g. animals don't die easily). Also, the deluxe content is a must have when you play this game. Without the silenced sniper rifle you get from it, you will not be able to do much of stealth at first.

Damn, how time goes by, remembering when we played it when we were younger, it is a great game, it brings back memories and it is very valuable, the best game in the series, and for me, one of the games that marked my childhood, thanks Far cry 3

One of Ubisoft’s most critically acclaimed franchises; Far Cry 3 is regarded as a fan favourite for many. It also happens to be my first Far Cry game, and after finishing it, I can see why the game is held to high praise.

What I like:

+ From a visual stand point, the game has aged rather well. The islands are all varied and beautiful to explore. The actual size of the map is huge, containing biomes such as forests, mountains, vast planes etc. There are various settlements and historical points of interest, which are all interesting to explore as well.

+ The gun play also holds up pretty well. There is a massive variety of weapons that the player can use, however as soon as I got the bow and arrow, I didn’t really need much else. The combat can get pretty intense, and while it isn’t perfect, it doesn’t end up feeling repetitive.

+ The story is really good. I had no idea what to expect from a Far Cry game in terms of narrative, and I was pleasantly surprised. The story revolves around two things; saving your friends, and insanity. It'll make sense when you play it. The second half of the story isn’t as good as the first half but it’s still engaging all the same.

+ The characters are one of the main highlights of this game for sure. The main character is alright. He’s a bit of a prat but he has his reasons for that. Some of the side characters such as Willis and Sam are great to be around. The best one though, without a doubt, is Vaas. He’s incredibly well written and acted. One of the best video game antagonists I’ve seen in a while.

+ As is usual with most Ubisoft games, the soundtrack is great. Brian Tyler’s “I’m Sorry” track in particular is an iconic one. The game utilises its soundtrack very well, whether it be the calm, placid radio tunes to the up-beat, exhilarating combat tracks.

+ Clearing out and securing outposts turned out to be quite fun due to the number of ways you can approach them. You can try stealth and mark your targets, taking them out one by one. You can go all in guns blazing. Or you can do a bit of both. The massive weapon variety gives you plenty of options.

+ While I do have issues with some vehicles, the number of ways you can traverse the islands are immense. As well as the vast variety of cars, you can travel via speed boat, zip line, quad bike, glider, parachute and a jump suit. Or you can be lazy and fast travel but where’s the fun in that?

What I don’t like:

- The ending: [spoiler]Well actually just one of the endings. The story all comes down to a choice; save your friends or kill them. My problem with it is that there really is no reason to kill your friends at all. The narrative literally revolves around you going to massive extremes to save them. Killing them goes against that. Plus, if you choose to kill them, you end up dying anyway, so all in all the “bad” ending falls flat.[/spoiler]

- The driving is pretty horrendous. To summarise, it feels like a clunky mess. Sometimes it felt like I was driving on ice. Turn slightly too much and you’ll end up on your side. Very fun.

- Some of the mechanics feel clunky or really dated. They’re small things that still have an impact on the gameplay. For example, you need a prompt to be able to climb ledges. Any prompts in general are a bit hit or miss. If you’re on fire, you have to hold down Q to put it out. Q also happens to be the same button to use a health kit. Fall damage is also nuts. Jump down a small flight of stairs and there goes almost half your health.

- Inventory management feels very dated. There were plenty of times where I had no idea what I was looking at, and there were often times where I wasn’t sure how much of something I had. It’s confusing and messy.

My Overall Thoughts:

Despite its issues I had a very good time with Far Cry 3. It’s a game with a relatively simple concept that expands and gets more captivating the more you play it.

The game has a strong, compelling narrative, combined with interesting and well written characters. The iconic antagonists, such as Vaas, make the story a whole lot more memorable as well. The gameplay, while dated in some aspects, is still really engaging and fun to experience.

It’s far from perfect though. Most issues stem from the gameplay, something you learn to persevere through. The clunky mechanics don’t really become a bother until later on. At that point, some parts of the game will drag because of them.

While these issues are definitely a problem and do detract from the experience, Far Cry 3 still succeeds in being an iconic FPS that will continue to stand as one of Ubisoft’s greats. If you’re wanting to get into the franchise like I was, this game is a good place to start.

What a TRIP..!!!

Introduction	Far Cry 3 is a beautiful masterpiece that immerses the player into an island/jungle. While you play this game, you will truly feel that you're in the middle of the jungle. If you’re like me and use headphones, you will understand what I’m talking about when you play this game. The developers really put a lot of work into turning the island itself into a very real character. I will forever hate Komodo dragons and cassowaries. When I first saw the innocent looking birds I thought to myself, oh nice at least I can get a break and cross the map through the cassowary territory and not have much of a fight.. boy was I wrong. Lol. Those things are savages. At one point I slid down (one my favorite things to do in the game) a very steep mountain and when I was almost at the bottom, I guess that I landed too hard and lost like half the health, then landed face to face with that stupid bird, and there were two of them…yeah they made me into hamburger meat. All I could do was laugh.
The story,	You’re Jason Brody an innocent kid that parachutes into the wrong island run by pirates and drug lords. They capture your friends and you free yourself and are able to learn the jungle and the island well enough to save them (if you can).
The gameplay,	Even now in 2020, the gameplay is fantastic. One of my favorite things to do was to liberate the outposts with a sniper rifle, find some high ground, take down the alarms one by one, then freed the wild animal in the cage, let it create chaos and take the pirates one by one without being noticed. You can craft your own syringes to regenerate health or you can get a perk that allows you to heal a little bit yourself without medication, and this way you get to see some cool graphics of Jason gruesomely healing himself, sometimes he sticks a knife in his forearm to remove a bullet, other times he pops his broken finger back in place and many more. They are pretty cool to be honest.
Open world,	It has a big enough map to keep you guessing and keep you engaged in things to do. The side quests are too short imo and not enough, but the whole island (size) and liberating the outposts and reclaiming the antennas is a lot to do already.
Conclusion	To recap this, I had a lot of fun playing this. It’s just a very fun/entertaining game to play especially getting it in a bundle or at discounted price. This is just a no brainer to get. Value for entertainment is outstanding.

Since I played Far Cry 4 and 5 before 3, I expected a dated, worse experience but oh I was wrong. Out of the modern Far Cry games (3,4,5), Far Cry 3 is clearly the definitive experience whereas the others fall short.

Everything about this game is good. The story, Jason's character arc, the graphics and environment, the weapons, the pacing, the music queues, it's all good. As far as I can tell, Far Cry 3 and 4 share the same engine and many assets so if you've played Far Cry 4, Far Cry 3 should feel comfortably familiar.

Far Cry 1 and 2 are unique in their own right, but Far Cry 3 defined the formula in a way that Far Cry 4 and 5 have failed to recreate, and if any title deserves the crown of the franchise, it's this one.

I only hope that Ubisoft takes inspiration from Far Cry 2, 3, and 4, when making Far Cry 6, and not from Far Cry 5 which felt bland.

The Ubisoft multiplayer servers are gone. Just stick to the base game. Now that there's no more multiplayer, the Deluxe Edition isn't worth the extra money.

You know, Farcry 3 is a very perfect game in 2012 it was before ''Ubisoft just making game'' time and at that age Ubisoft really cared about games so they made a masterpiece like Farcry 3, this game was caused Farcry series fame by owning a great and memorable villain with weird thoughts and unfortunately next versions wasn't as good as Farcry 3 but i still hope they make a good game out of Farcry 6, because this time the villain is THE FCKN GUS FRING ACTOR!!!!

Far Cry 3, the best game in the saga until Far Cry 5 is released.
One of the best singleplayer / coop shooter games, full of numerous skills and missions to do not to mention the challenges.
You will find yourself inside an island with your friends with the aim of running away, during the course of the story you will have the goal of helping a nearby population to oppose the head of the island from the tyranny of Vaas.
inside the game there are numerous weapons and ways to kill enemies and free the outposts with infinite possible tricks to do.

A first-person shooter with an open world that takes place on an island unlike any other. Place where heavily armed warlords traffic in slaves. Where unwanted guests are hunted for a reward. And when you take on a desperate mission to save your friends, you realize that the only way to avoid this rabble is to face it.

Very good game ,but is kind of expensive for full price and finish the game in 39 hours.It is so fun in missions and unlocking different kind of stuff.But in the late game, you unlock all the outpost, there won't be enemy respawn anymore,is sad though ,no much to do after unlock those legendary weapons

One of the best First Person Shooters ever!! Set a new standard for open world shooters that no other franchise has matched in my opinion. The Far Cry series has its strengths and weaknesses, but never fails to deliver a good game. FC3 is a great game!!!

If I remember correctly Far Cry 3 was launched during a time when Ubisoft publicly hated PC Gaming community altogether (pirates…remember?)! And I’m glad they never abandoned the platform despite moving off Steam in 2019.
It’s a bit ironic considering this is the ultimate PC game experience anyone could ask for back in 2012. Not a lot of people really talked about so many great things they’ve done other than Vaas (the game’s villain used on nearly every promotional material including cover arts, posters and trailers). Ubisoft didn’t shy away from pushing level of detail up-to that point. Sure, it’s not Crysis 2 but it comes close (in terms of visuals and sound).

Pros

+One of the finest Ubisoft games, everything feels fresh, organic and actually fun to play!
+Built on Crytek's improved Dunia game engine; first seen in Far Cry 2. Now even better with more colorful environment and high res textures. One of few 7th gen game's not held down by consoles.
+Nearly flawless non-linear FPS gameplay. Excellent shooting and cover mechanics.
+Good enemy A.I
+Dense open world full of places to explore and a wide range of wildlife to hunt.
+The campaign sets you through jungles, beaches, underground caves, ancient temples, hidden tombs full of secrets and treasures.
+There's always something else to do if you're bored of the main story!
+Insane amount of detail and polygon count (play at 4K if you want to see what I'm saying).
+Tons of graphical options and lots of DirectX 11 features. Top notch Anti-aliasing methods in-game.
+Voice acting and motion capture work for the main cast was done well (especially Vaas and Agent Willis). The characters were great and distinct enough.
+loading screens are short (none when traversing around the island(s). They're a bit long when you fast travel or load the saved game.

Cons

-Auto-save system is really weird…auto-saves only work when you buy a new gear or once a mission is complete. Hunting an animal, picking up items, treasures, will NOT save your progress. You could essentially loose hours worth of progress unknowingly.
-Story and narrative pacing often felt forced and dull. I’ve almost kinda lost it when a very important character was killed off half-way through the game.
-Super-natural elements should have been kept minimal at best.
-Side missions are pretty lame fetch quests and don’t take advantage of exploration or telling more stories or lore about the Rook island.
-Way too many collectibles and treasures to collect. This is perhaps the biggest flaw with nearly Every Ubisoft game since 2007’s first Assassin’s Creed. 100% completion is a chore and takes away the fun.
-No Steam Achievements, trading cards :(
-Driving felt a bit clunky. The devs should have opted for third person camera as an option for driving. Nevertheless, it forced you to explore the dense island the game had to offer on-foot!
-The Rakyat (essentially the good guys in Blues, the cult that worships the ancient Gods or something like that) become quite annoying after a while. They often repeat the same 3 lines of dialogue....
-Dead multiplayer
-Barebones, linear and repetitive 4 player co-op maps.

Some Tips

1] After completing the basic tutorial and clearing an outpost or two you’re free to explore the island so take it as an advantage. Avoid completing too many story missions early on. Just keep hunting!! Go and hunt deer, goats, and boars in order to expand your loot carrying capacity and ability to hold weapons. Just don't forget hunting....
2] Save often. Like I said before the save system is really weird…
3] Avoid buying guns, ammo or body armour; Seriously money is already scarce and the last thing you would want is having upgrades. You can get nearly every gun for by just liberating an towers (takes around 5 minutes max to do that and additionally you also gain tons of XPs). Ammo can be found in loot crates (there are at least 1000 of them scattered everywhere xD)
4] Clear every Outpost for maxing out Jason's Rakyat tattoo asap and if possible and find every letter and memory card.

FINAL THOUGHTS

If you're looking for an open world adventure game Far Cry 3 is the perfect entry to start. Get it for on sale without thinking twice. Worth $20 listing price considering the amount of content you get! A lot of gamers would agree that this is the best game in the series 8 years after it's release in 2020.
