MMO On the Grandest Scale

A Brief History of ATLAS

Das Spiel an sich hat Potenzial. Ich rate allerdings vom spiel ab da es zu viele Fehler hat und vom Publisher nichts kommt was diese Kinderkrankeheiten beendet. zudem bietet es nur kurzen Spielspaß da man schnell alles erreicht hat und dann nur noch rumdümpelt. Für neue spieler ist sehr wenig Platz im sogenannten Startgebiet da dort viele Spieler gebaut haben und sich angesiedelt haben. Schade eigendlich. Ich empfehle es nicht zu kaufen. ich selbst hab über 1000 Spielstunden und bereue es gespielt zu haben.

Ahoi zusammen.

Ich spiele das Spiel seit Release... mit allem drum und dran. Ich weiß schon gar nicht mehr wie oft wir begonnen haben von Neu anzufangen... Aber eins will gesagt sein.. es macht immer wieder, immer noch, einfach nur einen riesen Spaß.

Ich dachte nicht, dass es ein Spiel schafft mich über 2000 Stunden zu beschäftigen. Aber inzwischen ist das Spiel nicht nur das von mir meistgespielte, nein sondern auch (trotz der teilweisen richtig dummen Bugs) mein Lieblingsspiel.

Ja, Atlas ist immer noch im Early Access. Ja, Atlas hat dadurch immer wieder Bugs und zwing teilweise private Server des Öfteren zu Wipes. Würde ich trotzdem empfehlen es zu kaufen: JA. Jeder der Ark mag und auf das Piratensetting steht, wird Atlas lieben!

Die Modcommunity ist richtig stark. Und für meinen Geschmack bringen die Mods erst richtig Tiefe in das Spiel. Ich persönlich spiele am Liebsten Roleplay. Dadurch kann Atlas erst richtig seine Mechanik und Tiefe entfalten.

Nun hisst die Segel und begebt euch auf eine Brise. ;-)

Die Entwickler versuchen weder Probleme zu fixen, noch zu optimieren.

sollten sie sich mal hinsetzen etwas zu fixen dann könnte das hier vielleicht ganz cool werden aber im Moment.

ich finde es ist schlecht optimiert und könnte sich von ARK ein paar Sachen dahin gehen holen.

Das konzept mancher inseln ist mega

das Segeln macht Spass

Aber es gibt mehr wie genug Sachen die man ändern könnte( 5-6 NPC in den städten mehr, das diese nich so leer sind)

Server sind über 12st Down, zumteil kompplete linien zb A. Massenweisse Bugs, keine richtige Deutsch übersetzung. Ansonsten wäre das spiel Top nur die kümmern sich nicht drum sehr schade

An sich ein guten Spiel, nur leider sehr stark verbugt... und der Anfang ist schwerer geworden.. nur als Team mit mind. 4 Leuten Sinnvoll!
Man muss leider viel Farmen =)
Gold ist alles in dem Game leider... und dementsprechend muss man so Hard Gold Farmen das der Spielspaß ein wenig darunter leidet.

This game is a completely broken reskin of ark. I still play ark. A lot. I put this game down and never picked it back up. The game is just a horrible grind and the developers of the game are corium levels of toxic. The aging mechanic is also immensely stupid.

Just go play ark, skip this garbage. Good environment, absolutely horrible gameplay, mixed with abusive admins. SOLID PASS.

Am Anfang war das Spiel noch Super aber was die Entwickler daraus gemacht haben ist nur noch eine Katastrophe.Habe das Spiel schon ca. 1400 Stunden gespielt dabei mehrfach neu angefangen, mit der Hoffnung das es nach einem Update besser werden würde,weit gefehlt.Nach mehreren Versuchen im Mehrspielermodus habe ich es noch mal im Einzelspielermodus versucht,leider auch hier Bugs.Nach jedem Neustart ist meine Werft mit samt dem im bau befindlichen Schiff weg(mehrmals versucht).Nach solanger Zeit ist es den Entwicklern nicht gelungen ein vernümftig laufendes Spiel hinzubekommen,statt dessen wurden Seepferdchen und so ein Quatsch rein gebracht.Für mich ist Atlas gestorben

Eigentlich eine sehr schöne Idee mit sehr viel Potenzial. Leider jedoch erkenne ich kaum eine Weiterentwicklung. Im Gegenteil. Die Welt wird kleiner und die updates machen das Spiel unspielbar. Beispielsweise ist der Singleplayer derzeit nicht spielbar da der Char mitten im Meer spawnt. Seit Wochen ist das der aktuelle Zustand!
Auf offiziellen Servern soll ich für ein kleines Schiff 5000 Gold zahlen + Materialien. Wie soll das denn bitte gehen? Wir spielten zu zweit - das wären Wochen des farmens gewesen. Irgendwann logst du dich dann morgens ein und das Schiff ist zerstört wurden. So vertreibt man Spieler. Da wir ein Leben außerhalb von Atlas haben spielen wir das Spiel nicht mehr! Absolut keine Kaufempfehlung! Ganz ganz mies was hier abgezogen wird. Eigentlich schon fast Betrug am Kunden.

Mit über 1500 Stunden Spielzeit ist es glaube ich an der Zeit ein Fazit für Interessenten abzugeben!

Das spiel macht grundsätzlich mega viel Spaß und bietet sehr viel Abwechslung. Kleines Manko gibt es beim Bauen (Außenecken von kleinen Wänden zb) aber im großen und ganzen sind die wenigen kleinen Fehler akzeptabel. Das einzig wirklich große Problem im Einzelplayer ist die Tatsache das das Spiel gern mal Speicherfehler macht und irgendwann kann man dann das savegame wegwerfen was natürlich sehr freut besonders wenn man weit ist daher immer mehrere Speicherstände seperat sichern.

Mein Problem mit dem Spiel und was der Grund für mich ist eine negative Bewertung abzugeben oder besser gesagt das Spiel nicht zu empfehlen ist die Tatsache, das im Multiplayer pve Modus quasi für neue Spieler kein platz ist. Leider haben die Entwickler nicht dazugelernt aus dem ersten Wipe, und haben den Kompanien nicht eine Territoriale Begrenzung auferlegt.

Ein oder zwei Spieler können also ganze Inselgruppen für sich blockieren, so dass niemand anders auf den Inseln Bauen kann. Leider hatte ich meinen PC gerade 2 Monate nicht zur Verfügung, so dass ich den Wipe verpasst habe der vor einem Monat statt fand...ich habe meine Zeit bis lvl 20 ausschließlich auf einem Floß verbracht und eine Insel nach dem anderen quer über die ganze Karte verteilt abgeklappert um eine stelle zu finden an der ich bauen aber auch Rohstoffe via gebäude farmen kann, Fehlanzeige.

Stattdessen Inseln die kaum bebaut wurden außer mit kleinen Türmchen mit dessen Hilfe sich das Gebiet sperren lässt für jeden anderen der dort würde bauen wollen. Auch gibt es Spieler die sogar ganze Wege mit Hilfe von gebäudeteilen versperren um anderen den Zugang zu verwehren. Laut dem patchnote wurde der patch gemacht um auch neue Spieler zu gewinnen darüber kann ich allerdings nur lachen angesichts der Tatsache das ich 8 stunden Zeit damit verschwendet habe auf dem Meer nach einer Insel mit einem freien Bauplätzchen (bin ja nicht so anspruchsvoll wie andere) zu suchen ohne jeden Erfolg egal wo.

Ich bin mir bewusst das dieses Spiel serverlastig ist aber dafür gibt es Wege und Möglichkeiten dies zu realisieren! Neue Kunden gewinne ich nicht damit und selbst alte kunden wie mich vergrauelt man eher, mir bleibt nur der Einzelplayer um mit ein paar freunden meine Vorstellungen in ATLAS verwirklichen zu können da ein eigener Server 140 bis 1400 euro pro Monat kosten würde und leider wird zu allererst immer am Server weiter gearbeitet und die Fehler im Einzelplayer bleiben liegen.

Man könnte sehr leicht für die Kompanien eine Begrenzung einbauen, dies ist aber leider wohl nicht von Interesse für die Entwickler, wahrscheinlich möchte man damit alte Spieler nicht Vergraueln, was in meinen Augen zu vernachlässigen wäre wenn man auf Neukundenfang geht.

Sollte sich an diesem Problem irgenwann etwas ändern, bin ich gerne bereit dieses Spiel an neue Spieler weiter zu empfehlen aber so ganz sicher nicht!

Ich hoffe dem einen oder anderen interessierten Spieler konnte ich so das pro und contra näher bringen und die Enttäuschung im multiplayer ersparen. Was die pvp Server angeht wünsche ich jedem viel Spaß der dazu lust und Zeit hat, hier dürfte es das gleiche Problem geben aber pvp macht ja einiges möglich XD. Platz muss in meinen Augen für beide Spielarten sein nicht nur für pvp.

Wer noch andere Fragen hat zum gameplay zu denen ich hier keine informationen geliefert habe, kann mich gern anschreiben oder in dem Kommentar entsprechend fragen.

Update 27.05.2021

Heute wurde ein Update aufgespielt welches zur Folge hatte das die Einzelplayer Karte Ocean nicht mehr funktioniert. Bereits bestehende Spielstände konnte man löschen, und beim erstellen eines neuen loggte man sich auf einen einzigen riesiegen Ozean ein ohne Inseln ohne eine Funktionierende Karte....Die Inseln sind wohl alle, gibt keine mehr alle von den Spielern auf den Servern restlos aufgebraucht....Early Access hin oder her, so langsam müssen solche dinge ausbleiben.

Zusatz 01.06.2021

Bis heute hat sich weder das Entwicklerteam um einen hotfix bemüht, noch wurde in einem der beiden Foren eine information zu dem Problem an die Spieler weiter geleitet (auch meine ticketanfrage blieb unbeantwortet ich habe bis heute keine e-mail erhalten!)...z.B. um die Spieler darüber in Kenntnis zu setzen, das der Fehler bekannt ist und man daran arbeite und in der kommenden Woche das Problem behebe....nur ein Beispiel wie es in der Regel gehandhabt wird. Mittlerweile mache ich mir sorgen ob die Entwicklung komplett ohne Info gestoppt oder gar beendet wurde. Am Geld kann es nicht liegen, in den Medien wird ja permanent berichtet wie sehr die Spieleindustrie wärend der Coronazeit boomt!

Das Spiel an sich basiert auf einer guten Idee, aber es läuft viel zu unflüssig, Server laggen die ganze Zeit, Tiere, die nicht spawnen sollten, tauchen auf und zerstören Schiffe. Ebenfalls sind die Preise für die Schiffe viel zu teuer für die Arbeit, die man reinsteckt.

Die zahlreichen Bugs sind nervig, auf der anderen Seite macht das Game mit den richtigen Leuten ne menge Spaß.

Grind ist halt mega und auch nie zu ende aber wenn ihr das ab könnt dann ist das Game was für euch.

Habe lange Zeit mit Kollege gespielt. Und mit dem Update am 12.03.21 wurde das Spiel komplett unspielbar.
Diese Claim Tower haben unsere komplette Base genommen, Pläne, Geld, Ressourcen und Freude am Spiel.
Ich spiele auf ein PVE Official-Server und kann daher diese Tower nicht kaputt machen.

Und für neulinge ab jetzt komplett unspielbar.

Ich schreibe selten Rezensionen aber das muss jetzt mal sein. Das Spiel ist jetzt schon Jahre im early Access und hat so extrem viele Bugs die das Spiel oft zu einer Wutprobe machen und man Dinge verliert die man Monate zusammengespart hat. An sich spielt man das Spiel gerne. Jedoch nicht auf dem Offiziellen Server das spiel wird kaputt gepatcht neue Spieler haben keine Chance irgendwo was zu setzen.

Mit dem neuen patch durften alle Spieler alles mit einem kleinen Turm claimen. Wer also sein Herzblut und Monate in eine große base gesetzt hat, der hat diese jetzt wegen eines kleinen Turm verloren. Die Macher kümmern sich einen ......... um die Community und kümmern sich nie um die Schlimmen Bugs. Das Spiel wird unspielbar und ich kann es einfach nicht weiter empfehlen. Spielt lieber Raft

Was soll ich sagen?!

Finger weg von diesem Spiel!

Hatte das Game ca. 1 Jahr nicht mehr gespielt!

1.Die Server sind sowas von am laggen das kann man sich nicht vorstellen!
Ping von 120 - 200 sind an der Tages Ordnung, was das Spiel quasi unspielbar macht!
Gerade in Momenten wo man am Zähmen ist und es wirklich auf jede sek. ankommt.
Verstehe auch nicht warum die keine GEO Blocker einsetzten um das Problem einigermaßen in den Griff zubekommen! Gefühlt mehr Asiaten (Russ, China usw.) auf EU Server als Europäer selber...

2.Die wenigen Inseln die existieren sind zugemüllt bis zum geht nicht mehr! Überall stehen Pillars und Strukturen rum von irgendwelchen Minusmenschen die meinen der Offizielle Server gehört ihnen!
Man findet einfach keine freien Bauplätze mehr, Frechheit sowas! Sollte mit Permaban bestraft werden meiner Meinung nach!

3. Seid irgendeinem Update muss man jetzt Gold in seine eigene Werft legen um sich sein Schiff bauen zu können! Wer denk sich so ein Blödsinn bitte aus???

4.Das Update von der neuen Map!? rauchen die DEV´s alle Crack ??? , Früher oben bzw unten, Nord und Südpol, dann Gemäßigt und in der Mitte Äquator.
Heute gibt es so ne Schrott Map wo alles durch gewürfelt ist und auch nur noch 11x11 anstatt wie am Anfang 15x15.

Ach ja , fasst vergessen!

5. Das neue Schiff vom letzten Update kann man sich auch NICHT mehr selber bauen in der Werft. War den Devs wohl zuviel Aufwand, man kann es nur bei den Schiffshändlern kaufen! WTF!!!

Das kannst du dir nicht ausdenken!

Lasst es sein dafür Geld auszugeben! Schenkt das Geld lieber Obdachlosen Menschen auf der Straße!

Dank Atlas Server Neustart haben wir gerade unser Schiff verloren :( ....
Bin sehr unzufrieden von diesem Spiel.
Direkt beim einloggen wurden wir von 3 NPC Galeonen Beschossen.. konnten gar nichts mehr machen weil es schon kurz vor dem sinken war.
Beim ausloggen war kein feindliches Schiff in der Nähe.. Beim einloggen gleich 3

Zugegeben, dachte ich, dass ich mit diesem Spiel meine Geographiekenntnisse aufbessern konnte,
stattdessen bin ich als Pirat um die Welt gesegelt, um mir Kommandos von Hühner geben zu lassen.
Als der erste Hardreset kam, hat mich das sehr verletzt, immerhin habe ich eine übernatürlich große Bindung zu meinem lieblings Huhn aufgebaut, nun ist er für immer fort und ein großes Loch in meinem Herzen ist hinterblieben.
RIP Captain (später Admiral) Huhnowitz.

Atlas ist einfach nur noch n crap game.
Die dämlichen ´´Entwickler´´ bringen seepferdchen und tamebare delfine ins Spiel, bekommen es aber nicht mal ansatzweise hin, die Plobleme ingame zu lösen.....
Nachdem sie das barrel gliden besser gemacht hatten mit den 100 metern, bringen die es wieder rein, und man kann über den halben grid Fliegen und Barrel Gliden..... so lächerlich.
Es ist anscheinend auch möglich Millionen von Gold an den Control Points zu bekommen, ohne viel zu machen.
Man kann unendlich viele Drachen Tamen und sogar vom drachen aus Barrel gliden.
Man kann irgendwie Alloys Dupen an den Control Points aber egaaaal, lasst uns erstmal ganz tolle tamebare Delfine ins spiel bringen und Seepferdchen.
Mal abgesehen von der Server Perfomance, die so abgrottig schlecht ist, dass ich so gerne kotzen würde.
Sie wollen das Schiffe fahren attraktiver machen xD (das ich nicht lache ist ein wunder) es wird doch kaum noch Schiff gefahren....
Atlas ist nun auch endlich für mich so gut wie gestorben..... -.-

Die Idee dahinter finde ich gut, aber die Umsetzung ist schlecht ich habe das Game seid dem es raus gekommen ist und es sind immer noch die selben Bugs da.

Ich finde die Hitboxen zweitweise nervig,und viele bugs.
Aber im gesamten ein super game was auch Laune macht!

Hab jetzt ein paar Stunden in dem Spiel, spiele auf der DLC Map (Blackwood),
ich kann nur sagen das wir von dem spiel sehr begeistert sind.
Klar gibt es hie und da ein paar kleinere Unstimmigkeiten noch aber das ist für ein Early Access Spiel nicht so schlecht.
Wer sich aufregt das dies oder das oder jenes geändert wurde oder noch nicht so wirklich funktioniert muss sich bewusst werden das immernoch daran gearbeitet wird ^^
Ich für meinen Teil würde das Spiel empfehlen =)

32 Minuten im Ladebildschirm aber dafür Bahnbrechende 10 Abstürze mal mit und mal ohne Error.

Dieses zeugt doch wahrlich von Qualität und macht einen echt guten Eindruck.

Habe Atlas jetzt über 700 Stunden gespielt. Dann fällt den Entwicklern ein für den Bau eines Schoners zusätzlich 5000 Gold zu verlangen. Bei einer Brig oder Galeone wird es warscheinlich noch mehr sein.
Als Singleplayer auf einem Server ist das eine Große Hürde wenn nicht sogar das aus.
Dies ist ein gutes Beispiel wie die Entwickler die Spieleranzahl auf den Servern veringern. Für mich ist jedenfalls Schluss. Auf den Schwachsinn hab ich keine Lust

Ich finde es Gut.
Wie ARK, nur mit Schiffen und ohne Dinos.
Schön um vor sich hin zu dödeln (Singleplayer).
Nur alleine endet der Content wenn man n großes schiff gebaut hat recht schnell.
Bekommt eine 7/10 von mir.

Nach fast 2.300 Stunden muss ich mich leider meinem Vorredner Papa Joe anschließen.
Mittlerweile ist es bei einem Ping von 255 nicht mehr spielbar.
In einigen Grids und nach einem Server-Neustart geht es kurze Zeit wieder.
Aber bei einem Ping von 255 ist es auch unmöglich an das Gold für ein Schiff zu kommen.
Zur Zeit leider nicht zu empfehlen.

Ein so gutes Spiel!
Ich finde die Seeschlachten und alles drumherum mittlerweile echt gut gelungen.Das Spiel hat in den letzten Monaten gute Sprünge in die Richtige Richtung gemacht. Und deswegen bin ich auch von diesem Patch sehr enttäuscht.

Seit dem letzten Patch mit Trading und Co. ist es so schwer für Solo Spieler bzw kleine Gruppen ein Schiff zu bekommen das viele aufgehört haben. Ein Schiff für diese Preise am Freeport zu kaufen finde ich voll in Ordnung aber dieses Geld für ein Schiff zu bezahlen das ich auch noch erfarmen muss finde ich sowas von übertrieben.
Und Gold farmen ist ja nicht gerade einfach. In einem Spiel das darauf ausgelegt das Schiffe im Mittelpunkt stehen finde ich diesen Schritt absolut falsch!
Ich hoffe das die Devs nochmal stark darüber nachdenken. Ansonsten kann ich momentan jedem der mit diesem Spiel anfangen möchte nur davon abraten.

The game itself is very good. But the bugs and the support are underground (support in Early Access not even available, if you write you get this as an answer (below) and additionally nothing is really done. You can through a game error (if you create a clan and delete it ) lose everything except the character. All animals, all buildings lose everything and the support has not dealt with this error since 2018. Conclusion: play 5 stars out of 5 / support 0 out of 5 / bugs 1 out of 5 / racism and sexism 0 of 5 Stars

In addition, a lot of racist, discriminatory and sexual issues are tolerated by the support in the game. Dreadful. My 13-year-old daughter was even blackmailed for sex pictures about this game, as players staked everything out for her with pillars (so that she could no longer build anything and no longer steer a ship) and the support provided the answer below: (ridiculous) Even the most serious insults against black people I noticed players in the game. I hope that the internet police will take action here soon!

Das Spiel an sich ist sehr gut. Aber die Bugs und der Support ist unterirdisch ( Support im Early Access sogar nicht vorhanden, wenn man schreibt bekommt man dies als Antwort (untenstehend) und zusätzlich wird dann wirklich garnichts gemacht. Man kann durch einen Spielefehler (Wenn man einen Clan erstellt und den löscht) alles verlieren bis auf den Charakter. Alle Tiere Alle Gebäude alles verlieren und der Support behandelt diesen Fehler nicht seit 2018. Fazit: Spiel 5 Sterne von 5 / Support 0 von 5 / Bugs 1 von 5 Rassismus und Sexismus 0 von 5 Sterne

Zudem wird im Spiel viel rassistisches und diskriminierendes sowie sexuelles vom Support geduldet. Schrecklich. Meine 13 jährige Tochter wurde sogar um Sexbilder erpresst über dieses Spiel, indem Spieler ihr alles mit Säulen abgesteckt haben (damit sie nichts mehr bauen kann und kein Schiff mehr steuern) und vom support kommt dann untengenannte Antwort: (Lächerlich) Auch schwerste beleidigungen gegen schwarze sind mir im Spiel von Spielern aufgefallen. Ich hoffe dass hier die Internet Polizei bald durchgreift!

Atlas aus Sicht eines Einzelspielers:

Atlas wird im Steamshop auch als Einzelspielerdspiel beworben, daher und weil ich das was ich sah interessant fand habe ich es mir zugelegt. Ich habe schon gute Erfahrungen mit dem Einzelspielermodus bei Conan Exiles gemacht, von daher dachte ich etwas mit Piraten usw. ist zur Abwechselung mal ganz gut. Leider war das aber nicht so! Ich schreibe dies aus der Erinnerung weil ich aus Frust einige Monate Pausiert habe und gehofft hatte das es mit größeren Updates besser wird. Getan hat sich aber leider nichts.

Auch wenn das Spiel noch im Early Access ist, und ich weiß das es weiterentwickelt wird, bin ich zu der Überzeugung gekommen das man mit dem Einzelspielermodus keine Spieler gewinnen möchte sondern nur Leute die das Spiel kaufen als Einnahmequelle so zusagen.
Ich komme mir im Einzelspielermodus ziemlich veralbert vor.
Man kann die Funktionsweise des Spiels in diesem Modus erlernen, und kann dabei viel Spaß haben seine Spielfigur hoch zu leveln. Aber wenn man seine Startinsel verlässt wird es nur noch frustrierend. Denn wenn man es zu anderen Inseln schafft dann stellt man fest das alle immer genau gleich sind mit Flora und Fauna sowie die Geographie, der einzige Unterschied ist das einige Inseln die Verstecke der Flaschenpost beinhalten. Wer so wagemutig ist und versucht diese zu finden muss feststellen das plötzlich ultra starke und viele Gegner auftauchen welche man nach meiner Erfahrung als Einzelspieler nicht bewältigen kann. Die Gegner kann man scheinbar nur im Team schlagen, aber was hat das mit Einzelspielermodus zu tun?
Intuitiv ist das Spiel auch nicht wirklich zumindest nicht wenn es um den Schiffbau geht, da habe ich mir Hilfe aus dem Netz geholt, bei sehr freundlichen Atlasspielern. Dadurch konnte ich mir ein Schiff fertigstellen und feststellen das ich es alleine gar nicht benutzen kann, auch dazu bedarf es andere Mitspieler. Da bekommt man schon Fragezeichen ins Gesicht! Somit bleibt einem nur das Floß um auf dem Meer, welches wirklich gut gelungen ist, umher zu schippern. Dabei habe ich wiederum mit Hilfe das Netzes gelernt wie man sich das Treibgut Angelt. Aber wehe man fällt ins Meer! Dann passiert es einem das man mit einer fast vollständig aufgelevelten Spielfigur, ich weiß nicht mehr genau welches Level ich dabei hatte mindestens aber Level 46, von einer Qualle mit Level 1 getötet wird. Und das war nur einer der Harmlosesten Gegner, denn beim Treibgut versammeln sich jede Menge Gegner die einen Schneller Umbringen als man gucken kann. Eine Weile habe ich versucht meine Sachen wieder zu bergen, was ich schließlich aber aufgab.
Wenn man anschließend mit seinem Floß zur Startinsel zurückkehren möchte erlebt man das nächste Desaster, denn dann kommen die Verdammten. Mindestens eine manchmal aber auch bis zu drei Flotten von Riesigen Piratenschiffen die mit Kanonen Jagd auf das kleine Floß machen, einmal ist es mir gelungen ihnen zu entkommen weil ich schon relativ kurz vor der Startinsel war und den Rest des Weges geschwommen bin. Erstaunlicherweise wurde ich nicht von der Meeres Fauna gefressen. Seid dem diese Piraten das erste mal aufgetaucht waren sind sie immer irgendwo um die Startinsel gewesen und ich konnte nicht mal mehr Treibgut sammeln, ich war praktisch gefangen auf der Startinsel. Damals habe ich das Spiel dann liegen gelassen, da ich Spaß am Spielen haben möchte! Ich habe dann hin und wieder noch mal kurz reingeschaut, konnte aber nicht wirklich Verbesserungen feststellen eher das Gegenteil. Bin ich vorher ganz gut zurecht gekommen mit den Extremen Klimabedingungen und anderen Einflüssen wie Vitaminmangel, den man mit Fisch beseitigen konnte, scheint dies nicht mehr zu funktionieren.
Zur deutschsprachigen Vertonung kann ich nichts sagen, außer das ich keine angetroffen habe. Die Tutorials sind alle komplett in englisch und auch sonst gibt es nur eine Teilweise deutschsprachige Übersetzung.
Da das Spiel bei mir derzeit 110 GB Platz belegt, habe ich mich entschlossen für eine Längere Zeit das Spiel zu Deinstallieren ich verwende den Platz lieber für Spiele die Freude bereiten.

Es ist zwar noch in der Entwicklung aber trotzdem sieht man schon ein interessantes Piraten Seefahrer spiel.
die Entwickler scheinen sich auch wieder größte mühen zu geben die Entwicklung vorran zu bringen.
ich kann euch das Spiel jetzt schon empfehlen auch wenn es manchmal noch was harkt.
warum einfach weil ich die See liebe und es jetzt schon spaß macht hier zu segeln.
des weiteren freut es mich auch immer neue Leute im spiel anzutreffen.

ATLAS ist ARK minus Dinos und TEK dafür plus Piraten und stark verbessertem Bausystem. Auch das Nahrungs-Survival ist gut überarbeitet (Meerwasser ist kein Trinkwasser, vielfältiges Essen für ausgewogenen Vitaminhaushalt) und NPC die ähnlich wie Kreaturen zu handhaben sind perfektionieren das Gameplay ungemein. Schiffe bauen, Segeln etc. gehört zwar zum Standard-Piratenhandwerk, aber der Skillbaum trotz irrsinnig vieler Möglichkeiten noch verständlich und nachvollziehbar aufgebaut lässt einem eine unbegrenzte Charakterentwicklung in allen Bereichen einer unermesslich großen Ozeaninseln-Open-Word. Für ein Early-Access sehr viel spielbarer Content.
Persönlich stört mich momentan nur die geringe Map-Größe beim Anmieten eines eigenen Servers

Atlas ist ein Spiel mit viel Potential, leider haben die Entwickler dieses in den 1.5 Jahren nicht wirklich genutzt, nun wollen sie noch alle PvE Inhalte rausnehem, und daraus ein reines PvP Spiel machen, tschuldigung, aber das ist daneben. Selbst wenn sie sagen, sie machen später noch was daraus, verlieren sie dadurch von den wenigen Spielern die sie noch haben, alle PvEler.

Dieses Game ist der Wahnsinn ! Ich finde es sehr toll und spiele es sehr gerne als freizeitgestalltung. Eine guter ausgleich zur schweren Arbeitszeit . Die tolle Grafik und die weite Spielwelt begeistert mich auch in Zukunft. Bitte macht so weiter und ich freue mich auf weitere updates .

Das Spiel verbraucht extrem viel Arbeitsspeicher. Ich habe einen RAM von 32 GB und Atlas nahm 56% davon ein und das nur im Character Creator Menü! Viel zu viel. Als Folge konnte ich das Spiel nicht spielen.

Also ich schreibe ja normalerweise keine Reviews, aber in diesem Fall muss ich einfach mal etwas dazu sagen. Aufgrund der vielen negativen Reviews war ich sehr skeptisch, habe es aber aufgrund des Themas trotzdem gewagt. Zum Glück, kann ich nur sagen. Ich habe jetzt in 500+ Stunden nicht ein einziges ernst zu nehmendes Problem gehabt und das Spiel macht Spaß ohne Ende. Ich könnte da vor allem Wutanfälle kriegen bei dem sinnfreien bashing was hier betrieben wird. Zumal die meisten den Sinn von Early Access einfach nicht verstehen.

Das Game ist zwar cool und es macht sehr viel spaß aber in letzter Zeit crasht das Game einfach nur noch es liegt nicht an meiner Hardware oder so den ich hab das Spiel früher mit der selben Hardware gespielt und hatte nicht solche Probleme
Der Crash zeigt sich in dem das spiel einfach ausgeht es kommt keine Fehlermeldung oder so es ist einfach aus

Leider, leider hat man bei WildCard und der Schwesterfirma Grapeshot Games offenbar nichts dazugelernt.

Mit dem heutigen Patch wurde das Händlingsegel generell auf 125% Segelbeschleunigung begrenzt.

Das hat erhebliche Folgen für alle die eine Galeone im Spiel zum kämpfen nutzen, da man nicht so wendig ist wie mit einer Brig muss man diese Segel nutzen um besser Segeln zu können, da die Segel besser den Wind ausnutzen. Zeitgleich haben sie bisher einen vernünftigen Ausgleich der Geschwindigkeit ermöglicht da eine Galeone doch erheblich Material einladen muss um während nach Gefechten repariert werden zu können. Das geht natürlich aufs Schiffsgewicht und somit auf die Geschwindigkeit des Schiffs. Wenn man sich nun erst einmal denkt das ist ja nicht Wild sind doch 25% mehr dann liegt man Falsch, da man mit den 25% mehr Geschwindigkeit noch immer langsamer ist als im Leeren zustand.
Folgenreicher ist jedoch die Auswirkung im Gefecht und in der in der Zeit die man auf See verbringt. An eine Flucht bei Flaute ist nun nicht mehr zu denken. Das Schiff wir Opfer der NPC weil diese Windunabhängig immer 6 – 8 Knoten fahren. Dafür brauchte man zuvor schon Mystische Segel mit 180 bis 200% Segelbeschleunigung bei Flaute.
Aber auch das Reisen auf See ist bei Flaute nur noch ein Horror, wer anfangs mit 3 bis 4 Knoten unterwegs war konnte das mit Mystischen Segeln durch langes Farmen noch wett machen. Jetzt bekomme ich den Selben wert auch bei Grünen und Blauen Segeln – also warum noch farmen?!
Mit einer ausreichenden Inteligenz im Spiel bekommt man werte bis zu 45% Verbesserung der Gegenstände jetzt aber nicht mehr bei den Händling segeln mehr als 25% ist nicht mehr drinn.
Da frage ich mich für was ich mir die Arbeit im Spiel überhaupt noch mache um was besseres zu bekommen?!

Euer Game kommt jetzt in den Müll
Meine Empfehlung – so gut das Game bisher auch war, last euch nicht verarschen -
Kauft euch das Spiel nicht das lohnt sich nicht mehr.

Ich möchte noch ergänzen das für mich, zukünftig, Spiele von Wildcard oder Grapeshot Games vermieden werden.

Ein Spiel mit einem Sehr genialen Spielprinzip und einem enormen Potenzial.
Wenn hier mehr zeit und Energie von den Entwicklern investiert werden würde inklusive einer Zusammenarbeit mit der Komunity würde das spiel durch die decke gehen. So ist es ein spielenswertes dennoch aber einen durch rechte Bugs oft plagendes spiel. Des weiteren versucht die Engine einen das leben so schwehr zu machen wie nur irgend möglich was stellenweise sehr frustrierend sein kann aber sich mit reiflicher Planung meistens kompensieren lässt

I want to say its a great game despite the bugs, cause it actually is. I mean its just pirate Ark after all.
However...
its being killed by its own players. Groups of trolls and/or streamers just using other players for content. Hackers waiting for you to log so they can exploit. Unless you have a large group of 10, its just not worth the time and effort

Im uncertain why people are often negative about the game, its still developed, it changed a lot and it will change in the future. Core loop however is the same. The wonder of building your own ships, sailing, exploring.
I have little under 1000 hours on it, it was already worthwhile for me and if I could support developers by buying some DLC, I definitely would
Is it perfect? No, but show me one game that is. It doesnt have to be perfect, it only has to be fun. And to me Atlas definitely is fun

i have never played vanilla atlas before and am reviewing my experience with the DarksideRP server and modpack, but many of my complaints are true to the vanilla game itself.
this game is a sports car held together with duct tape. promises a lot, looks shiny, uses ALL the resources, falls apart constantly. random glitches. falling out of the world. constant disconnects and app crashes and server-side crashes. i've logged over 20 hours in this game and 15 of them have easily been spent looking at the logo on the title screen, from all the times the server's been too full to join or i'm waiting for something to load or reinstall or whatever and it's so frustrating. and when you actually get into the game, the mechanics are so unforgiving that it's really not fun at all to roleplay or even just play casually. you die so often for nonsense reasons (like blue vitamin deficiency) and sometimes you respawn many servers away from where you were with all your progress gone. it's such a frustrating experience and the motivation to keep playing in my friend group stems from the dream of finally building a little pirate town and sustaining ourselves, but it's been a mountain of stress and basically nobody's having fun. i don't know. have you heard of The Legend Of Pirates Online? it's a fan revival of this old Pirates of the Caribbean MMO and it's way more fun than this sludge. and it'll run on basically anything. you need a beefy computer to run atlas. my recommendation: play a different pirate game

I've been playing this game on and off for 3+ years. I've played both PvP and PvE. I've been in large companies, small groups and played solo. Value for the money? Definitely. There was a lot of expectation around the announcement and release of the ore-release game, which definitively means there would be additional content, bugs, testing and fixes. There have been game breaking bugs, down times and frustration within the community, but its all worth it.

There is ample to do in the Atlas world. First you have a skill tree and role play experience grinding, ship building and animal taming for travel. Ship building is amazing just for customization. Each of you own ships can be different and you can build a fleet (PvE for sure). Then you have exploring and discoveries that give additional character bonuses. There is a crafting experience that is elaborate, some items need difficult to get blueprints and resources such as Mythos. In addition there is new content now coming out regularly some that I haven't even been able to figure out yet! There is PvE combat treasure hunting rewarded with crafting blueprints, experience and gold.

And for the over achievers there is an End game content progression that is amazing. It will most definitely leave you with a feeling of accomplishment and contentment afterwards.

My suggestion is find a small group of friends, plan to go all the way to the end. Encourage each other through the frustrations of any obsticles to your goals, and you will certainly find value for your money.

This is one of the most painful reviews I've written, so let me tell you a story.

I loved this game. It was a childhood game dream come true. We were all hopeful for what was to be the decisive ocean-fairing open world survival game and for a time it was. I spent days of my time just sailing from point a to point b loving every second. I enjoyed the harsh circumstances that forced tactical, patient, and intelligent decisions that would literally decide what would happen for the next few hours. You can choose a faster and smaller ship and only take two hours to build, or opt for a larger ship that'll carry more but will be slower and take 8-12 hours to farm the materials.

I played with two friends who like me dedicated night and day to progressing our little band of merry men. We built a raft and sat on it for hours until we finally got to another island, and boy it was a once in a lifetime memory. We built our first single mast sloop. We farmed and farmed and farmed. We made a base, got animal tames, cosmetics, and just loved the everloving hell out the game and what it had to offer. We finally progressed to the point where we built a frigate. This thing took days to farm materials and was the end-all-be-all for naval combat, travel, and quite literally everything. If you weren't at an island, your home was your vessel. We built the frigate and named it something that filled all of us with pride. We went to sleep anticipating another day of amazing gameplay. Then, the Chinese came.

You see the problem with Atlas was not the game itself, but it was the players. We logged in to discover our frigate, which we spent days farming for, was gone. We also noticed other ships that we became familiar with seeing shared the same fate. The Chinese, because they're Chinese (no literally), decided to sink any non-Chinese ship. We were just one of countless victims. So much so, in fact, that there are probably historical documentaries about the Europe-America war against the Chinese players -- it got that bad.

Then, in similar fashion, Atlas suffered a content dry up and ultimately started to change things. In less than a few months the game had more or less died from mediocre and ignorant decisions that effectively made the only reasonable way of playing the game to join MASSIVE clans that treated you as literal slaves to do their bidding in the hopes that you may do something other than collect resources (think rust). Players like me tried to flee to private servers to play the game on our terms, until we found out each grid in the game is ran by its own server. So, if you wanted to play with the full map (with all content mind you) you were looking at somewhere between 100-200 dollars a month just to run the servers.

We saw what was coming far before reality came, but we were ever hopeful. That is until they de facto dropped development of Atlas to focus on Ark. Ark is better for it, but Atlas is now just a wasteland with no place for refugees like me to go. I last played Atlas almost two years ago but I still think about how good of a game it was and how good it could've been had the right decisions been made. After finishing games like Dying Light, Elden Ring, and Dark Souls, it makes me pine for Atlas.

I think back to how defining of an experience Atlas was for me, and as much as I want to play it, I hold to principle and just wish for better days.

This game sucks. Its literally Ark with a pirate mod built on top of it. Dinos could even be spawned in when the game released. This is nothing but an insane attempt at a cash grab that failed horribly. Maybe if they actually made a game instead of using Ark it would have been better since Ark has HORRIBLY optimized so just like Ark this game is in the triple digit gigs. If you ever see it on sale for dirt cheap, check it out if you like Pirates but NEVER pay full price. IT IS NOT WORTH IT.

I am uninstalling this game. This game looked really fun with the ark survival element mixed in with sailing and adventure. The issue is I have logged about 3 weeks on this game and I cannot go one day without having to build a new ship. The land is all claimed, and everybody who sails past you is going to sink you. I cannot bring the spoils from my adventures anywhere, as all the land is claimed or somebody will literally take the hours it takes to destroy a storage unit just to destroy yours while your offline, as well as your ship will be sunk too. Even if you have nothing on it. There's nowhere to store it, and there's nowhere to store any of your treasures. You just kind of park somewhere and hope that while you were offline, nobody happened to go past your ship.

I enjoyed my time on this game. Would I recommend it at this price? NO. I bought this game when it was on sale for $4.99. I enjoyed it a little, but it's not worth more than $5. When I played it years ago, the population was small. Today, the population doesn't even exist. Most of the GOOD community servers have been taken down because the player base is too small. Don't buy this for the singleplayer.

TLDR: Got a spare $5 and the game is on sale? Sure. But don't pay any more for it.

Once an amazing adventure, now permanently uninstalled from my PC. The server architecture has always been bad, but now very few people play it with the default servers which are laggy and unstable. The last time I tried it just wouldn't work at all. Probably for the best, because the community was full of antisocial jackasses who just wanted to destroy and attack on sight, even if they were sure to die or got literally nothing out of it.

Sometimes I wake up in the night screaming. In those moments I remember that I spent money on ATLAS. It's been 4 years since I last played this game and this still haunts me. I realize there have been updates and optimizations during that time, but I refuse to have an non-emotional respond to this. Just wait for ARK 2 and forget about this one. Its for the better.

As of 1/27/22 I cannot recommend this game. The game has been out for roughly in EA 4 years...maybe less or more and it still feels like a Pre Alpha game. The game is riddled with broken code, and instead of taking the game off steam and taking the time to fix it, they rely on the players to be the QA department. With the game being so broken, they continue to release new content on top of the broken stuff. I had a base, and logged in the other day and it was completely gone. This was on a PVE server. I was told that the decay timers are all broken and that's more than likely what happened. The different zones in the game are constantly going down so if you go into a different zone your game will crash and your character has a great chance of being lost forever. The portals in the game, if gone through with tamed animals will make your tames fall in the ocean and be eaten by sharks. I could go on and on, but STAY AWAY from this game for now...or forever. I have no idea how much the devs are committed to this game, but it's starting to feel like a cash grab is going on. Consider yourselves warned

i played this on both xbox i now pc, like every game it has its bugs but over all its a fun game simular to ark lots to do. from what i here the server side of things is still broken, but dont let that stop you from enjoying single player or with a few friends

Great concept ruined by bad decisions from devs and poor programming. From buggy but still promising game it went south. Game running poorly and keeps crashing, AI is just idiotic, playerbase is now non-existent, most islands claimed and you will probaly die from heat even when you max out your fortitude, drink shitload of water and hide in the shade of your expensive ship.
Also dont let their trailer fool you, this is not how this game really looks and behave.

TLDR: Dont Buy for solo or public server play.

The game is fun and there is a lot to do, But it is still in development and that shows. I dont recommend the public servers, find a private one without warmongers. If youve played ark, this game is literally a dlc for that, but has more charm then ark had. The game sadly really fails with the state of development breaking and changing most of the core mechanics, as always the public servers are not worth bothering with.

This game is NOT Ark
This game is an abomination of something that could be amazing

As someone with well over 4k hours over two accounts for Ark, I can say with certainty that the company making this game deserves a law suit or something for promising things they cannot/will not deliver. I have never played a game that has made me so depressed simply for the inability to progress and the amount of bugs that are STILL TO THIS DAY in the game. You may think the crafting system is great or won't be a problem but it is when you need to travel from A1 to G7 just to get one material because other islands aren't spawning that material which takes literally 2-4 hours in total IRL) Me and my friends who absolutely love and enjoy Ark only found two things we enjoyed with Atlas and that was the grapples being ACTUALLY better than Ark's for the most part and the climbing mechanic is fantastic but everything other than that is horrid.

I bought the game when it first came out and it was terrible, came back on 12/3/2021 to give it another shot and guess what? It's still just as bad as it was. They've fixed misc things but not the things that truly ruin the game.

Do NOT waste your time or your money, you will be disappointed and be left with a sour taste in your mouth while Jeremy Stieglitz and Jesse Rapczak are running away with your money.

Literally one of the worst experiences/games I have ever played and I will never install this garbage again. I was going to call it hot garbage but clearly it's cold garbage simply because the flame of inspiration and creativity/love left this game long ago. Actually no, The flame of love, creativity and inspiration was never with Atlas, it was always with Ark and always will be. If you do play it, have fun with your boat constantly bobbing up and down in calm waters and sinking underneath the water as well, obscuring your vision and traveling for hours on end for the worlds slowest progression known to man. Even ancient Rome was built faster than you can build a tier 3 ship in this game.

Cant build a base because there is no room to build to many people claiming whole islands so no one can build.
How about a limit on how many claim flags one team can build
I would like to get a refund because this is not the game i signed up for but because i have so many hours of playing. just a bit miffed

Honestly, I wish I could give this game a thumbs up. But I just can't. There are a lot of great things about this game. For instance, some of the mid to late game PvE content is a ton of fun. Admittedly, I don't play PvP because I don't like it, so I can't speak for that side of things, but anyway.

Sailing around is great for the first hour that you do it, but once you've got an established base of operations, having to travel to and from islands to get one resource you don't have gets really tedious. 80% of your time in this game will be spent tabbed out watching Youtube videos while you wait for your ship to go from point A to point B. I get it, it's a game about sailing and exploration, but it's just a little *too* vast for my tastes.

There are also still a ton of bugs related to certain aspects of PvE content. For instance, going to a point indicated by a treasure map will cause Soldiers of the Damned to spawn. Totally normal, right? Well, on more than one occasion, some SOTDs will spawn inside a rock or a tree or even the ground and be unkillable, which means you can't dig up said treasure because you can't dig until all the guardians are dead.

Vanilla rates are *WAY* too slow. The only way to enjoy this game without dedicating every waking hour to this game (like with ARK) is to join an unofficial server with boosted rates for exp, gathering, and et cetera. However, it's really hard to find a server that's not inundated with crappy administration, pay-to-win island claiming, and overall bad management. While this isn't really a strike against the game itself, it's bound to be your experience if you, like me, don't have time to play on an official server.

Overall, this game has a lot of potential, but between the tedium of sailing around for several hours just to gather some resources for ten minutes before sailing back, the lack of decent PvE servers on unofficial, and overall bugginess in several places to this day, I can't recommend this game.

If none of those things bother you, go nuts. I hope you enjoy it :)

Piled over 1200 hours into this before their first attempt at changing the map.

Every update since then has been worse and worse and worse. I used to adore this game, I used to love the fact that everything was so far apart because sailing was half the fun of the game. I used to love my week long expeditions that a friend and I would take, gathering up as much gold from the maps we had collected in the most efficient route possible in one loop back to base.

But they ruined it. The map became a circle jerk of bull. Anything above the most very basic ship now cost 5000 gold or more, which was already hard enough to obtain before hand without a decent ship, a few high level animals and a lot of grinding in PVE. Absolutely forget PVP. Any new player would get wiped off the map before they could even build a basic shack on even the most deserted island, and if you were lucky enough to get into a big clan, it's communist hell, you gain protection in return for giving them almost everything you grind up, materials, gold, the lot. And forget owning land and working to upkeep it. That's entirely reserved for the long standing, big boy clans of people who literally block you from everything.

It's a shame. I used to live for this game. Every day I would play for hours on end, sailing the oceans, diving for shipwrecks, farming materials from islands far and wide in order to build the next ship up. Spending hours and hours on end breeding and raising animals so my friend and I could go out and do higher level treasure maps.

It honestly breaks my heart to see just how far this game has fallen, when it could have been amazing.

Game is what you make of it tbh. Lots of fun to be had if you make it. I've played both in massive zergs and solo. Believe it or not the majority of my 1,500 hours are solo play. While there is content exclusive to groups, it is fully possible to maintain bases of operation and conduct raids of arbitrary scale.

It has a similar feel to ARK mostly because I think it's developed by the same developers? Although this game has more focus on ships and combat, etc. It also has more focus on modernized creatures instead of Dinos. I enjoy both games quite a lot, but this is definitely a breath of fresh air coming from ARK, plus Human followers which is kind of neat, except they seem basic as far as I can tell.

It honestly seems like a fun game at first. I love how its simular to ark with the survival Aspect. However. The problem isnt the game itself or Inbalancing ect. Its starting out. When you start out you start out at a free port can get to a max level of 8. When you get your first ship. You will spend Hours upon Hours looking for an island to claim. Problem is THERE IS NO LAND to claim what so ever. This is because of the same exact LAND CLAIM abuse that so many players from ark have done. ANd it mostly on Official Servers. And about the Official servers theres only two thats right ONLY 2. One NA ONE EUR. So tell me whos bright idea was it to make only two official servers. I want to play the game and experience a Pirates Life. But i cant due to being stuck at a free port. Cause of land claim abuse by the same Large Clans / Companys. Its rediculous. You need to establish Rules ONE LAND CLAIM for one island and your company only builds on that ISLAND. Dont hog the whole map just to compete with other Large companys. ANd then exploit the new commers. In closing what also sucks about this game. Is that your either forced to join such a large company. Or Ally just to get a start. Or you are forced to buy your own server. Some people cant affoard to buy there own server. And some folks want to do there own thing. You cant force people to play a specific way or join pre existing clans. It drives people away And Kills the Immersion. Honestly devs. Change this stop the land claim abuse. Create New Official Servers. And enforce having only 1 land claim per a company so they can only own 1 island. If they cant abide by that and have to have a larger island or two. Then the choice is eathier move to the larger island give up the old one. Or deal with the rules period

So the game has promise but the devs refuse to listen to there player base and what they want. They seem to keep adding content that no one really wants. As well they make the game much harder then it needs to be buy locking things behind stupid goals and Gold cost for ships that you then have to grind out the mats for and build. It seems like there just coasting doing the bare min to keep the game running

great graphics and great fps (high-end pc). However, most of the time I didn't have sound or music, it randomly came and went (didn't change any settings). Game crashed when I invested my skillpoints.

Bruh, this game has been out in EA for 2 years and you still don't have sound and crashes when using basic systems??

Such a missed opportunity. The developers are focused solely on making this into a PVP game and ignoring what could have been a smash hit similar to Valheim. A focus on exploration and PVE where you and your team sail the seas, explore interesting islands and build into better/bigger boats for your home base and combat could have been amazing.

To make matters worse, the private server model for this game is prohibitive. to the cost of 1000s a month to replicate their 11x11 grid for PVE on public servers. Some argue you can do a 2x2 grid and spend tons of time exploring, but this ignores a lot of what makes this game fun. questing, exploration and such.

I really love the construction, particularly ships, the game as a whole is fun and we'll enjoy the blackwood map until we get bored exploring it's islands, but this game could have been really special. A real shame.

Im happy they fixed a lot of the bugs for single player but I would still not recommend this game just yet. they need to fix more bugs then I would recommend it. For the price, the game is simply not worth the value currently compared to more solid products available such as Valheim for example.

Man so close...

All they had to do was not make ARK but all they did was make ARK with a pirate theme.

No NPCs (skeleton ghost ships do not count)
No towns ( you gotta build them even in single player)
Giant demi-god like enemy's in hordes of 50 per island.
Basically another pet sim.
Spend 30 hours making a giant ship to have your game glitch out and reset you to lvl 1 no gear.
Ride a giant turtle while you harvest unreal amounts of wood!!!! YAY super immersive!
Don't forget the end boss is literally impossible to beat without 30 players fully decked out, and good luck finding 30 players.

Had potential, fell for it again. You got me twice now butt-heads. How bout just make a game and not whatever you call ATLAS and ARK. You will not be the next RUST so just stooooooooooop.

If you are the kind of player that likes games like this please elaborate as to what it is that makes these fun for you, because maybe I'm missing something...

The game is not bad but support and company are pathetic. I have a perma ban and no one will respond to my polite and honest requests for support. YES, I was working on some 3rd layer software for another game not listed on steam. I dont deny that is probably what triggered the ban. Was it directed at this game, nope. I have gone as far as to offer to show them what I was working on; my actual source code.. And nothing. I have made mods for this game and helped on several others. I bring this up because if there was something I wanted in the game that was not in the game or some advantage; I have plenty of chances to build it into the mods. There is little need to bot or do another automation if you can work with the dev kit. Anyway, just leaving this as a warning. Don't do dumb stuff with this game running. I also wish you all the best in your sailing (but the company can go pound sand.. yup a little salty... hahahah :-)

Litterally playing 5 hours to find out how to build a base, because apparently the game is bugged and I needed to change files to even be able to put down things. Also so much bad information:
Press F1 to put down a flag, simply not true, I need to build it in a smithy which I can never build because I need a flag to build.. Then also in the game itself it doesn't explain you how to build. After 5 hours I downloaded a server from someone online after hours of reading where I was able to build.
This all happened in single player btw, the place where you should be able to learn the game. This pisses me of so bad I want to wreck stuff.
Tomorrow I'll give it one last try with this new server, but this experience has been so bad and frustrating before I've even played the game.

Atlas was broken when the pre-build ships was introduced into the game. Mythical plans were nerved, blackwood map not working after pre-build ships. Would not recommend this game to anyone - you will waste your money and time.

Game was good at that point - very exciting and had a lot of potential for improvement and new features. NOW IT'S JUST BROKEN and UNPLAYABLE. Very disappointed in this game after these updates.

Go back to the olden days.!!!!!

Singleplayer absolutely broken as of June 2021. Cannot even spawn without making modifications (spawn in ocean). Then, once modded, there are no freeports -- just pirates. No excuses for why they have not fixed the singleplayer.... Do not buy.

No, I wouldn't recommend this game to other players. Why? This game has been around for 2 years now, it sure had a rocky start, but I won't be talking about it right now. What I'm going to talk about is the game in it's current state and what it's going to become.

The game in it's current state is pretty much a mess. It still has loads of bugs, like the no-sound-glitch that happens to users using headphones. Ships that suddenly become submarines because somehow the sea rises above the ship that is sailing in it. And now there's another bug. Singleplayer has become completely unplayable. There is no land and no grids, nothing. Just ocean and sea creatures. Before it was pretty bad enough when u would spawn in the middle of the sea but this time u spawn in the middle of a giant sea where there is no land what so ever. There's no way u could survive. Which also means all of ur progress in singleplayer and non-dedicated servers just disappear. Tons of hours for nothing.
Same w/ the Multiplayer server wipes. They've wiped the servers for idk how many times now. To be fair I haven't really played this much recently ever since 3 months ago and only came back to check what state it is in right now.

To be fair official servers have always been bullshit, singleplayer was pretty ok unless u actually seriously tried to finish the game on your own. Playing private non-dedicated servers was also pretty good but still there's no way to finish off the kraken with 1 ship (Unless you're cheating with god tier cannons that do 10000 dmg). However overall the only way you were able to play the game was playing PVP Unofficial Servers. The servers are pretty dead nowadays having like only 3 players playing them. Still the game used to be pretty fun and beautiful as it is.

The devs however probably don't even know what they're doing with their game at this point. Now they have added gold cost to ship building. You even have automated shipbuilding. What happened to the building your ship to scratch? The devs aren't even doing anything when you report a bug to them. The devs should listen to their own customers instead of just ignoring them and doing their own thing. They aren't even trying to fix their own game anymore, just bringing in more and more content that break their game even further.

I also wonder how far the islands that we play on have come? Nowhere, just a bunch of copy and pasted islands from this sector to that sector. I've even seen whole REGIONS that use the same island in every servergrid that was in that same region.

So in summary, the Devs should FIX their own game and LISTEN to their customers so that they know what the game needs to become.

They destroyed single player. You spawn in the middle of the ocean with no land what so ever. They haven't said anything about it or if they are working on a fix. The game advertises single player and that's why I bought it. I had some fun with SP but this is bulls*$!. Its been down for a long time now, can not recommend this game at all. Do not buy!

game was good when it worked. but after 16 hours of progress i had to update the game this morning. when i did it destroyed my save and i had to delete it and restart.. after doing so, i spawn in the middle of the ocean and none of the islands appear. making the game one giant ocean with no land at all. was fun when it worked. but this is a pretty crappy thing to happen after a patch. as of now would not recommend the game whats so ever. FIX IT

Don't get me wrong, the game can be very fun, especially with friends. However i have to leave this negative review because otherwise the developers will never change. They either do not care or are incompetent; leaving bugs in the game for years without a fix, entire servers down for days in a row without any updates and the whole game runs like ass around any structures. The ATLAS team need to learn that steam reviews and pleasing customers does matter and when your product looks like crap on the store page less people will buy it. I will change this review if they bring out some transformative updates in the future (unlikely).

Like all other survival games, ATLAS is dominated by mega tribes who find strength in not only numbers, but people that have the knowledge and ability to outperform other tribes. If you are looking for a game where you can chill on the official PVP servers and expect to make it to the top of the world by yourself and a couple of friends, I'm afraid this is not the game for you. However, if I had quit after the constant times I had been wiped on official over and over, I would never have discovered this game in its true art form, and to this day, with all my friends long gone, I meet new players season after season that all want this game to succeed so badly, because the success of ATLAS is largely driven by a high player base. All these negative reviews about our brain dead developers have some truth, but for a game driven by player interaction, we as players cannot always rely on the devs in order for us to seek out the content we are looking for and to have a fun time, whether you are getting sunk and getting your base blown into, or the contrary of sinking others and asserting dominance over the land and seas.

Win or Lose, when you play on the official PVP servers, there is always something to learn after every engagement because this is a sandbox game after all is said and done. In this game, not only can you rack up your hours in play time because of how indulged your mind becomes, but you can also become so addicted that the reason you play may not even be that ATLAS as a game is fun, but that the people you play with make every experience memorable.

Wanna build a ship? Experiment with different builds! Every time you get sunk there is always something to learn, whether you want to change your design up and see what works and what doesn't work. Like all games, there is a meta build for every ship that has proven to be most effective out on the waters, but I've come across many captains that have found success in unique off-meta ships as long as they have stuck to their strengths in combat.

Wanna squad up with your friends and land PVP? Every island is different, and every company has a different style of building defenses. The only way to push through the insane defensive meta at the moment is to learn how to raid efficiently and to progress in as little time as possible, as well as having a good team that covers each others backs in team fights.

There are so many niches that you could find in this game, even on the official server, but the main problem is that it is very hard to operate solo unless you are an expert in this game, but even then the tedious work and chores that you have to do in game make you want to group up with certain alliances or well-operated companies.

Don't give up on this game, keep digging past all the bugs and weird meta game tactics and you'll find yourself a gem.

ATLAS has great potential. Unfortunately, the developers have had zero interest in PVE for a long time now and are purely focused on PVP. Since this imbalance, the player base has plummeted.

Ive played this game since shortly after it came out. After every wipe it has gotten worse and harder to play. I stopped playing for a year and recently started a single player game to kill time. Single player is unplayable. Beds dont work, the game cant keep track of what region you are in, your mats randomly disappear. I just got killed by an alpha lion and the game says I am 2 grids away. So now I lost my gear and my ship is stranded with no way for me to get it unless I sail 4 grids to get it. I have a bed on my ship and it does not show up. This has happened several times and it drives me nuts. I will never play this game again. When i first started playing I had a blast and clearly put hundreds of hours into it. I will say I easily got my moneys worth but I cant recommend this game to anyone.

a few patches back id have said yes to recommending this without a second thought but they are now not only going to be charging gold to build ships but are going to be getting rid of the ship building which was a huge selling point for a modular system removing a good bit of customization i know early access means stuff changes but their stripping out one of the biggest selling points

i played ark and this, i actually loved this more than ark, the resource collecting is so much better imo, i guess tolerance level to glitches will equal to whether you will give a good review or a bad review to this game, as for me, it works fine because i don't really bother its glitching. don't grumble grumble grumble in early access. x)

Glitchy piece of ****, i spent many hours gathering resources getting mythical parts for my ship, i had 12 mythical cannons that do 400 damage each (without the ships damage buffs) My cousin placed the dockyard slightly too close to the coastline and the whole ship started break dancing then exploded.

IF i could get a refund for this game i would, but sadly its been too long and too many hours put into this piece of dog turd. I will not be playing this game ever again and will hope the developers see this message and know to fix their ****ing game..... Adding loads of new content isnt going to make a game good... You know what makes a game good? Making sure the mechanics you got already actually work and don't fuck up majorly. Oh and PS when you travel between servers make sure to fix the fact that if other players are on your ship they don't get flung off your ship into the middle of the ocean..... I've lost so many items by crossing to different servers that i fear going between servers on other peoples ships.... Don't ever buy this shit game...

530+ hours played here. Game with potential, devs throwing money and time out of the windows. Dont buy a server from Nitrado's hosting service you'll pay 15$ to get trap in a Freeport and can't get out of the starting zone capped at lvl 8.

You now have to farm Gold (5000gold for a schooner) this is what put the nails in the coffin for me, I mean Devs want you to play, okay I get it, but I don't want to grind for WEEKS of materials to simply get shipwrecked by a Ship of the Damned or a Tornado for a stupid Schooner that I could build by simply farming the material.

Who ever made the decision to put Gold requirement on shipyard Ship crafting should be fired or maybe put aside from the game experience decisions. WE WANT ACTION, SHIP CRAFTING & PERSONALISATION, CANON BLAZING, RHUM CHUGGING AND DOABLE QUESTS this game lacks so much souls it hurts, the fight animations are laughables, the actual quests dont take in mind the singleplayers and are for most undoable.

The simple facts the game would be 1000x better by simply put a NPC in the startup village that give you simple quests near your location like : Get me 1000 leather, wood, etc.. i'll give you 100gold for your completed task, but NO Devs are working on putting Gold requirement on stuff that you was able to craft freely and have fun while doing it ! Shame devs, shame...

Built 10 ships, one for each day of me having played this game.
Don't expect any ship you build to survive while you're offline.

On the bright side, I also destroyed the people who destroyed my ships' own ships when they were offline. It's a pirate world.

After almost 1,800 hours unfortunately I have to finally give up on this game. I like many can see the incredible potential in this game type but grapeshot have done everything in their power to not realize it. They've gone through two different dev teams and community managers but in the end it has become obvious decisions are now being made by in game players with monetary connections to those behind rule enforcement. While I was not one of the 162 players recently perm banned without explanation purely for being part of a company, it is now obvious as to the corrupt nature of the act. I never thought I would be one of the people writing goodbye to this failed game but after almost 2 years this is simply not an environment I can support. -Goodbye Atlas

I would say don't buy game,
atm you cant even play single playing without your ships disappearing on you for no reason.

for multiplayer atm, the server need work for being able to enjoy this game

atm the game looks amazing, it holds everything to be great.. but with these devs the game will die...they don't do much on the game anymore.. and i think that they should focus and work a lot more so the game can be stable. cause it ist stable at all...and the update are so useless..

DEVS PLZ do something about your game, it can be soo great.. but because you guys dont do anything about this game anymore.. its gonna die out soon if nothing happens

The fishing is fun. Sad the Ark people are involved. Wish I could go past a border and not have my ship crew and animals all disappear even in single player, but hey its all about sitting in one place fishing never going anywhere just doing nothing or the game breaks. I am sure glad i like fishing.

Very time consuming and addictive. I have only played solo and dont know anything else. you are very free and allowed to build your ships how you like which i loved. sailing is so amazing and satisfying until your schooner with 2 cannons sails into a brigade of the damned.

btw atlas will slowcook your gpu

While I really wanted to love this game, I can't. I have been playing it since the early access released. Performance is horrible and god-forbid you get any support. The game is currently in its 4th season and nothing has improved. The game is on its 2nd set of devs who know nothing about the game mechanics.

Unfortunately, this game is full of toxicity which runs into the public discord. The community managers rarely, if at all, address any issues brought up in discord. The ticket system for the game is broken. As soon as you submit a ticket it is immediately marked as solved. What's sad is I have yet to receive a response to any of my tickets from the beginning of release until now. These tickets include everything from bug reports, game exploits/issues, and code of conduct concerns.

Players and whole companies have been banned from the game with little to no explanation. The population of the game is steadily declining because of this and soon there will be no one left to play. In a way, it feels as if the studio is trying to kill the game.

My suggestion is to stay far away from this game and anything the studio develops.

Not anymore. The devs are corrupt and ruin the experience by banning complete company's for perceived issues or code of conduct issues. I've never cheated in my life, yet apparently someone in my company did and therefore I am banned, a paying customer, for no reason. Absurd. This company needs new developers that listen and actually want to have a fun game and not pander to sponsors.

Through this game life spam, I was there at game launch with 70 people in chat ready to start an exciting adventure with everyone. I had enjoyed mega tribes all the way down to small tribes from PVE-PVP played season one, two, three and five spent over 1k hours and I would’ve kept playing it till the end. But one small mistake ended this long memory and once fun game for me, myself and a friend decided to have a go at season five PvE we built a base on a lawless spent over 100 hours just on that alone then we built a gally brig 3 schooners and some sloops got the rare resources and blueprint ready to start building some bigger and better ships cannons tools etc...you get it. Anyway we logged on one day and we went out the base and someone started building a wall around are base they were trying to block us in, so we decided to do the same not realising that was in the TOS at the time its a survival game and its lawless. So we went ahead logged of thought they would remove the wall the next day but nope. Instead, we had the base wiped and ships are gone and a ban so yeap enjoy this game but for me after that its an end of a chapter I will no longer buy any of Grapeshot games and will let my group know that it’s a poor company with bad admins.

As you can see I have played this a lot, tried both pvp and pve. I can confirm that this game has gone for semi ok to absolutely terrible. There are bugs there, seriously irritating ones, that have been there since day one that I suspect will never be resolved. You walk near an animal and you start lagging/rubber banding massively. The lag in the servers, even over a year after it's release, is absolutely awful even if there are just 3-4 players there it's not fit for purpose. One thing that really bugs me about this game, it's pirate themed yet you aren't allowed to take on the role of a pirate. You can be banned for trying to do that, which to me is incredibly stupid. If you join the game now, the chance of you managing to capture an island for yourself is near impossible, they aren't many of them and they are all owned already. There are lawless islands on the game, sure.... But these are not lawless, as in lawless so you can do anything you want at all. Nope, you have to obey very strict rules or you could log in and find absolutely everything of yours has been erased by the admins. 2 weeks worth of hard work erased because one person makes a complaint. No warnings received, just deleted. After almost 800 hours, I can confirm I'll never again play this laggy, bug ridden game run by abusive admins.

Not gonna lie this game is cheaksComing from ark I would always play 1x servers because the multipliers ruin the game and make it last at max 1 week, but that isnt the case for this game at all. You spend over 1 week just punching trees so you can build your boat for it to then glitch out and explode just as you finish it. Even when you are able to get sailing you wont find anything because all the servers are dead and the only people that are on have lvl 500 animals that 1 tap you. fuck u atlas i want my money back T_T

This is your game! Sure, there are good things about this game. The sailing and the boat combat is good, but as mentioned above, you can't play this alone, in a duo or even a trio. You need friends and lots of them, online enough to deal with the other groups of bored meanies looking to kill you.
Sure, I played a lot. Most of it half paying attention as I sailed in amazing spawning ghost ships and storms that magically appeared in my face. This game needs help and lots of it. The good stuff is way overshadowed by all the bad stuff.

I enjoyed this game. There wasn't enough in this game to keep me active in it for months, but, it was enough to get the full enjoyment out of all it's current features. Hopefully it doesn't remain a lost title in my list for years to come.

The game looked promising at the beginning.... However, due to lack of development, a horrible community management team, and tons of bugs I have stopped playing. The gameplay is nothing like the trailer, and after 3 seasons little has been done to improve gameplay. If you're on the fence about purchasing it, don't waste your time, the player count is dwindling fast.

The game has very good pvp on ships and land, but for this you need at least level 40 of a ship with a full setup.
If you play as a small company and have a job, you, your resources and your ships will be wiped by two naked dwarfs with a bear and a cannon while you sleep or work. If you get tired of this and you decide to join a large company with good defense in order to save your ship and loot, and not rebuild your base every day, then one day the game developer will come in and wipe your whole company without warning or explanation.

They reduced the map, now it is impossible to hide and sail on a small ship, playing with a small company has become impossible (if you certainly want to keep your animals alive for more than 10 hours).
They introduced idiotic farmhouses, justifying it by reducing the time for farming resources, this is the laziest and idiotic attempt to drive players out to sea. It is necessary to add ship classes and content to the sea, and not this shit. To reduce the time for farming, need to increase the farming multiplier on blueprinting tools.
Since the release of the game, they cannot fix speed from the recipes for speed sails.
A lot of game content is useless, for example ALL types of weight sails, and ALL types of medium sails. The lightest and smallest ships are the slowest and most useless.
And of course, gnomes, gnomes everywhere. There is no penalty for reducing hitboxes.
Personally, I (I think, like many others) in 3 weeks gained ~ 100 levels without the abuse of a kraken or a snowman, nevertheless, the levels of all characters have already been lowered 2 times. They first introduce a huge amount of exp for bosses, and then wipe your levels.
Most likely, you will be pissed, and it could be the developers.

Если вам это надоест и вы решите вступить в большую компанию с хорошей обороной, чтобы сохранить свой корабль и лут, а еще не отстраивать свою базу каждый день, тогда в один прекрасный день зайдет разработчик игры и вайпнет всю вашу компанию без предупреждений и объяснения причин.

Они уменьшили карту, теперь невозможно спрятаться и плавать на маленьком корабле, игра маленькой компанией стала невозможна (если вы конешно хотите сохранить своих животных в живых больше 10 часов).
Они ввели идиотские фермыдома, оправдывая это сокращением времени на фарм ресурсов, это самое ленивая и идиотская попытка выгнать игроков в море.Необходимо добавлять классы кораблей и контент в море, а не это дерьмо. Чтобы уменьшить время на фарм можно увеличить множитель фарма на принтованных инструментах.

Они со времени выхода игры не могут починить скорость с рецептов скоростных парусов.
Большое количество контента игры бесполезно, например, ВСЕ виды весовых парусов, и ВСЕ виды средних парусов. Самые легкие и самые маленькие корабли - самые медленные и самые бесполезные.
И конечно, гномы, везде одни гномы. Нет никакого пенальти за уменьшение хитбокса.
Лично я (я думаю, как и многие другие) за 3 недели набрал ~100 уровней без абуза кракена или снеговика, тем не менее уровни всех персонажей уже 2 раза были понижены.Они сначала вводят огромный количество экспы за боссов, а потом вайпают ваши уровни.
Скорее всего, вас обоссут,и,скорее всего, это сделают разработчики.

Game filled with bugs the Devs will kick you over before they acknowledge it needs fixing. Support tickets go unanswered for months.

Last night a Developer 'GS Lump' of Grapeshot joined our company of 75 and kicked every player from the company ( 'Devwiping'), yet he refused to wipe our island structure, allowing enemies to claim loot and this isn't the only time it's happened.

stop the rogue devs, they are supposed to act in a professional manner. If they're going to wipe companies out of spite and kick players without reason, WHY are they allowing players to watch hundreds of hours of their progress get looted.

In the current state of the game, if you get Devwiped, you will get no explanation, or any mercy on your progress. You will lose everything you've worked for to a teenager with admin. Likely because they play on the same server and you are their enemy.

I love this game alot, I didn't expect my ATLAS experience to end with Devs insiding my company, was definitely a plot twist, overall 2/10 survival experience,

nobody wants to come back to this game with uncertainty of being banned when explanation OR warning of misbehavior are nonexistent.

Announce you're leaving the Kraken Rewards the same for 30 days and then adjusting it. Leave everyone's levels intact. You can't keep messing up the game over and over and over and punishing the players for your incompetence. The Kraken has been done 100+ times by multiple people on all the servers. You're literally deleting people's play time that do not live all day long in the game

How about start with letting people know on the game when you plan to do crazy shit. like deleting an entire server. instead of just on the website. I mean. Whats the bloody point of your little announcement box? hmm?
No warning. No PROPER timeline or warning at all on removing gorgons gaze. my husband and I just spent hours getting gold for our island, only for the server to go down. no warning. we wait a while thinking its another of your fantastic bloody glitches that crash everything. NOPE. not this time. I check your website after a while and see you made a post YESTERDAY to remove the server but no timeline of when that idea was going into effect. and bam. ALL THAT TIME, WASTED. Not to mention the time spent in general on that map. All that effort. GONE. We have kids dude, we get like a FEW HOURS a night to play THATS IT. and you couldn't give your players the decency of a warning that wasn't on the website that NOT EVERYONE CHECK. WHY WOULD WE? you have a freaking ANNOUNCEMENT BAR ON THE OPENING OF THE GAME! HOW HARD IS IT TO FREAKING LET PEOPLE KNOW TO CHECK YOUR WEBSITE? NOT HARD! I KNOW IT'S NOT HARD. The Developers just tossed their largest fan base to the wind to push a PVP only system. They are also going against a promise that there would never again be a server wipe and they are wiping the servers in July 2020, Loved the game before they announce they are doing away with PVE.

This game is genuinly fun just wish there was a bigger playerbase.

The only reason i don't play it as much as I'd like is as one person you cannot learn all the necesary engrams you need to play the game making it so you need tons of people in your crew and if one isn't online you're missing out on aspects of the game.

also pvp is kinda weird where you can't snipe minions off of their positions and some level 110 guys came with a sheild stunned all of 5 us that just about made me smash my keyboard in 2. so a little more balancing and maybe more populated modded servers would make this game lit as hell IMO

hmmmmm im actually sad to write a negative review but the devs didnt leave me with any other choice. ive been playing since day 1, have about 2000 hours into it. i loved this game. i LOVED this game. every bit of it was great, even with all its issues and its flaws and people complaining about it being a reskin for ark, i loved it. i played nothing but this since it came out. i was a fanboy. you get to conquer islands, have sea battles, fight mythical creatures, tame animals and most of all enjoy it with your friends. they did updates weekly, sometimes even bi-weekly. the game balanced out and began to run great.

then it went to shit.

the devs walked away. they walked away without a word. and the roadmap provided all the sudden wasnt happening. then the updates slowed down, maybe one or 2 a month. until they stopped. comepletely. they would come on and fix someone or some company completely breaking the game, but other than that they walked. meanwhile, ARK got another expansion, they funneled their time over there and left us to dry.

so even though this game was my favorite game, possibly of all time, i gave all my stuff to one of my few remaining company members and uninstalled last week. this game and its devs dont deserve your money. if you buy atlas now, you are throwing your money down the drain. or burning it, whichever you prefer. solo players cannot survive in this game anymore. its company or die. well actually its company or severely limit yourself.

i hope this review, the review of a 100% fan who feels like he was stabbed in the back by the game he loved, helps you to make your decision.

I love this game i really do it has so much potential to be a great game but development staff is horrid its like they took everyone that was bad with them from Wildcard to Grapeshot bugs are every where crashes are plenty a LowLevelFatalError crash that has been in the game from the start is still here that there trying to pass the buck to Epic games calling it a bug with Unreal Engine this is a crash mind you that came from Ark that as far as i know still effects some players there i have tried everything under the sun to fix this crash apart from nuking my whole damned machine and starting over till these bugs are gone i cant recommend this game to any one please pass get your pirate fix somewhere else till Grapeshot gets there stuff in order.

This is an addictive game, I have played 400+ hours and its ok to start with when youre just messing about learning things. But when you get more into the game and want to do content that actually counts and you want to level, or tame or do anything for that matter..
The game crashes profusely, you get kicked from servers a lot and things end up breaking or dieing or being sunk,
I tamed some penguins and then bred those penguins and incubated an egg, nurtured a baby penguin. left it enough food in the food trough when it was at enough maturity to eat for itself and left a good week worth of food in the trough.
Set my alarm to wake up to give the baby penguin attention, it had died of starvation when the trough was full.
I reported this bug, AAAAAAABBSSOOLUTEELYY NOTHIIINGGGG was done about it, bug was mugged off because it wasnt reported in a specific way, then when I reported it in the correct way I was effectively told that it would be submitted as a ticket and looked at to see if something needed to be done.

I was sailing a map square with a good setup Whaling schooner, clear seas no Ships of the Damned, clear as the sky, no rain no fog nothing.
The server disconnects,
My ship gets destroyed which I can see on discord because we have a discord company report to track things.
I report the server disconnect then my ship being destroyed due to this, the bug on my ship destruction is then deemed irrelevant and my posts in the bug report get deleted.

The company does not give a **** about your game they want money and they are not planning on fixing this broke a.f. game, not any time soon, not ever.

If you buy this game youre buying a broke piece of trash. Good for a few hours but dont get into the game its not going to be the same and gets constantly nerfed so you lose **** then have to start over again and again and again.

THe same applies for ARK. ARK is in a little bit of a better state but its broke a.f.
money pool and no care about the end content.

first review I think ive written. first, i have 3399.00 hrs in atlas. with stupid steam app counter thats probably 2500 played. allot of people would say that is definately my moneys worth. i would agree. im writing this review to simply tell you, the person that hasn't bought atlas and is thinking about it. do not buy this game. there are so many reason why you shouldnt buy this game to list. but the main one is do not support this gaming company. don't buy any of their products. ever. they are the worst at everything they do or have tried to do if they even do anything at all. the aggravation of playing atlas far surpasses any amount of entertainment you would hope to get from the game. just play something else. anything else. save yourself. don't give them your time or money. do not buy this game. hope this helps you hit back and keep looking.

I've played just shy of 700 hours in Atlas. I've played private server, I've played official PvP with a big company at launch, I've played solo PvP, and I've played solo PvE. Every new session I've played, be it after a wipe or on launch, or going to a new server, I've essentially rage quit the game due to design flaws becoming far too frustrating, bugs punishing me and causing me to lose too much for me to stomach, or PvP fights becoming impossible to manage because of server lag and rubberbanding. I'd love to see Grapeshot bring this game around, but after over a year of playing and not seeing any marked improvement, I think I am hanging it up and probably not coming back. I just don't see them turning it around and it seems their priorities are not, and have never been in the right place. Even if I set aside the bugs and design flaws, I believe the direction the game is headed is bad. It's a shame. I played quite a bit of ARK as well, and as many have said before me, this game studio will likely always produce overly complicated, broken games. Make no mistake, I appreciate their ambition, but they clearly have no concept of reining in features, and it seems obvious to me that they come up with concepts that look good on paper, but cannot be executed well because they are overly complicated and, in that, become bug riddled or are far to taxing on the server.

This game also has massive memory issues and will crash your game or computer regularly. If you happen to have been on a tame and this happens around a predator, you will likely lose it. These were the same issues that plagued ARK, and rather than fixing them prior to producing a new game, they prioritize adding more creatures to a pirate game. Instead of making a pirate game that runs smoothly and isn't too taxing on the server and doesn't crash your computer, they allocate resources to introducing giant turtles and 15 foot tall dinosaurs that you can tame. I will probably never say this in a review again, because generally I just accept that either I like a game or I don't, but this game studio should be ashamed of this game.

*I would only recommend this game for experienced early access survival game players; people who are able to deal with bugs, balance issues, and setbacks relating to design changes or rollbacks.*

Atlas offers a TON of content and the sheer size of the map is insane. Yes it's extremely similar to Ark in many ways but instead of the main focus being on dinosaurs and taming; the player is focused on shipbuilding, naval battles, character progression, and land control. There are some big issues with Atlas though, it's still a long ways away from being a finished product. I would only recommend this game for experienced early access survival game players; people who are able to deal with bugs, balance issues, and setbacks relating to design changes or rollbacks.
