Über das Spiel

Betrayer is a first person action adventure game that takes you to the New World at the turn of the 17th century.

The year is 1604. You sailed from England expecting to join a struggling colony on the coast of Virginia. Instead, you find only ghosts and mysteries. What catastrophe blighted the land and drained it of color and life? Where are the settlers and tribes who lived here?

Clue by clue, you must piece together the story of what befell this doomed settlement and find a way to set things right. You will be hunted by corrupted Conquistadors and ravening shadows as you explore an expansive wilderness in order to trace the brief, tragic history of the colony and search for survivors.

Features:
  • Explore large, open environments teeming with danger and discovery. Chart your own course in search of clues and treasures.
  • Switch between two distinct worlds featuring different enemies, obstacles, and threats.
  • Wield early 17th century weaponry including muskets, bows, crossbows, and tomahawks. Upgrade your arsenal by purchasing or finding faster, deadlier, longer-ranged weapons.
  • Charge headlong into battle with guns blazing or pick enemies off quietly. A novel, movement-based stealth system lets you hide in plain sight or use the wind to mask your footsteps.
  • Equip ability-enhancing Charms to complement your play style, granting anything from extra health to faster movement to improved stealth.
  • Play with the default visual style for maximum eeriness and tension or customize the color and contrast settings to suit your tastes.

https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1989675914

- The Good
It's a beautiful, creative game with an eerie but stunning world to explore, full of unique and well designed game mechanics. The combat is simple but not too difficult and the map has all points of interest marked so it's easy to find all collectables if you want to 100% the achievements.
The shovel is found 4-5 zones in, so you will need to backtrack to get all the dig spots when you get the shovel.

- The Bad
Quick-save like you're playing Skyrim. Save after every clue, chest, interaction ect.
This game crashes often and results in progress loss where clues or weapons you picked up are missing in-game. As far as I know there's no way of getting them again without restarting from scratch. This means you will not be able to 100% the achievements without careful saving.

- The Unfortunate
Blackpowder Games has been dissolved, meaning bug-fixes or updates are impossible. As such, the game is no-longer for sale on steam but you can still buy keys from other stores like Humble Bundle if you really want to play this game.

Quite a cool little title. I really like the art style and the narrative delivery, it would be great for this to get a more fleshed out remake but sadly it's been de-listed and mostly consigned to history.

Finally got around to playing this after having bought it years ago, and I'm so glad I did. No point in writing a long review, since the game is not being sold any more. Just wanted to say to the developers, in case they ever read this: Thanks, you made a good game here.

I had a lot of ideas to put into this review that I wanted to discuss. But then I learned that the game is no longer available for purchase on Steam. Blackpowder games are defunct, I guess it didn’t make enough sales or maybe it’s people moved on to brighter avenues, who is to say?

It makes me very melancholy though, considering I really enjoyed my time with Betrayer. Sure the writing isn’t great and the game takes a while to actually get going. Not to mention the sound design needs work and the game would crash pretty consistently.

But that all doesn’t matter. See, I can play a game like Ghost Recon: Wildlands and have a miserable time even with better graphics, gunplay, sound design, and no crashing. While here the game kept me captivated for nearly its entire runtime.

The difference is the heart put into a game. With a game like Wildlands, you can just tell they were trying to make another generic open-world shooter. There was no creative direction or interesting ideas, it was safe and on brand.

With Betrayer you can really tell how the developers cared about what they were making. So much time and energy went into making this passion project. The end credits only have about 6 developers. I can just feel the passion put into every inch of this game.

So, despite its flaws, it’s a great game. One that caught me a bit off guard by how much I enjoyed it. Though, I think I appreciate it a bit more now that it’s gone.

This was one of the first games I ever bought on a whim. Years ago, I think back in 2014 near its release and only played an hour before turning to other games. I’ve had this game sitting in my library for 8 years. I was such a different person then but this was my first little foray into expanding my horizons. It almost became a little inside joke that I’ll never get around to playing it.

Now that I’ve finished it I feel like I lost something. I don’t know if I’m sad I didn’t appreciate it back then or if I’m sad no one will, probably, ever touch it again. Nothing more will ever come from the team and, after a while, it will fade from all our memories.

After I’m gone who will remember its triumphs? It will remain empty forevermore. No one will be left to explore its forest nor free its inhabitance from their torment. A little piece of art, hand crafted with love, left to rot. Disappearing as the steady tick if time rocks forward. Unflinching, uncaring.

It makes me very sad to see no one will probably touch this game again. Sure, keys can still be bought on G2A but who’s going to happen across it there? No one I think. So I believe it will remain lost, it’s only home and memory a small slot in my steam library.

And maybe that’s enough.

A Roanake-inspired gem of a game that's not for sale anymore, at least here on Steam.
I like to try different things, and Betrayer is quite different indeed. The visuals are hauntingly beautiful. There's something deeply unsettling about the forest when the wind starts rushing in. The whispers and the weird sounds come at you, it's powerful. The color contrasts work perfectly in creating this weird surreal place and the maps are really well done, very natural.
The old weaponry is awesome. You fire a musket, have to reload the powder, the projectile etc. It's slow. The musket shots must be tactical and precise.
There aren't many different enemies and it becomes a bit linear after a bit, but it's still a lot of fun.

Tolerated the game until it crashed moving between maps. Somehow the autosave remembered that I had dug up the spots that contained end-game weapons, but it didn't remember me having the weapons in my inventory. After spending 6 hours on that run, I'm soured on ever playing it again. Anyone who plays it should never rely on the autosave.

thjis poopass game is less video game and more playable photoshop filter. has the same characteristics of a walmart supercenter: a horrifying atmosphere combined with a dreadful funeral drudge of walking around doing wank, complete with gremlin enemies that you have have to gun down in search of literally doing anything else. if your room has leaded paint and asbestos ceilings this game is for you.

I spent a few minutes to find positive sides, so... let's go straight to minuses.

- color correction. Black plus white here is GREY. 50 shades, I suppose. Enemies blending into the background in a daylight.
- Stealth mechanic doesn't work here. Hostiles can see you through trees and hills from a good distance. If you want an achievement for a sneaky kills - be prepared.
- Only in this game NPCs telling us different stories same way. By the pattern, monotonous, boring and dim narration.
- All collectibles already opened on map. So when you were entered to a new zone, first thing you're moving from one to another map point until collect all of them. THEN! Doing the same at night.
-Final scene. WAT? WTF? WHY, Carl?

I have nothing to root this game. It even hasn't a music. So I used dark ambient on Spotify. It helped me not to drop.

It all starts when the player hits the shore and meets a girl in a red coat. A game with several areas to explore, where each one has its background story, to unravel, through clues, objects, etc., where there is also another world for the player to explore, having other types of enemies in a more obscure scenario.

However, I think that the mechanics become a little repetitive after some time (new map, explore the area, go to the other world, explore the area and move to the next map), until the penultimate map where the last one is a little different the mechanics and I think it was what I liked the most where there are some decisions to make and an intriguing ending, in my opinion.

Its a fun but compact open worldish adventure game. The bulk of the game revolves around you travelling across the map looking for chests, weapons, clues and eventually npcs. The map always tells you where loot is so you can collect things in any way you want. The combat is kinda standard fps stuff and while it starts very challenging as you start with a half broken bow, you can eventually find really strong gear to make it easier. Story line is meh, and ending is abrupt and disappointing, so only get this if the gameplay sounds like fun, dont expect some mind blowing narrative. I had a blast going around collecting everything.

PS if you care about achievements you will need to grind kills by letting yourself die over and over as that makes mobs respawn (they are kinda hard to find once you beat the game).

Discovering lives of past people and chain of events in darkness in a dark world. Narrative-heavy, finding the monster in human-kind with creeping terror on the side. Little bit of jump-scares with satisfying ending. Might not be everyone's cup of tea, but I have enjoyed the play through.

I think I bought this game when it first came out back in 2014. I played it a few times, didn't really like it, and left it. I decided to come back to it now to give it a more serious go. I've put in almost four hours now, and I'm putting it down again. I do really like the atmosphere and the underlying story....I can't really think of any other game that is set in very early colonial times, so that's an interesting take. However, the gameplay is what lost my interest. Each area has a map that is already pre-populated with all the sites of interest when you enter (so you're basically just navigating from point to point) while the combat system is a bit clunky and very repetitive. After getting into the 4th area, the story/atmosphere, while good, wasn't compelling enough to keep me playing any longer.

Yeah, well.. I am on a mission to taste each N' every one of the games that lying around in my library & Remove some of them in the process.

This game certainly worthy enough to be in my library but I might not just finish the game, ever! First & foremost reason is the empty hollow open world with no waypoint or whatsoever. Other than that, this game impresses me in other aspects. Like the unique graphics style, simple combat with enough graphical details being added to the weapons, Stealth somewhat works & I liked the goofy sound design aswell.

Afterall, I can recommend this game anyone who've plenty of time or a new gamer, looking forward to play something off the chart. :)

Betrayer is period-piece FPS with strong dark fantasy/horror influences, and what is probably most unique about it is the period in question: early English colonial America. The time period isn't ever clearly defined, but it's fairly safe to place it in the late sixteenth/early seventeenth century*, which makes the weaponry layout pretty unusual for an FPS: various bows and early firearms. The former are quicker to use and have more plentiful ammo, the latter are far more powerful but painfully slow to reload and inaccurate except at very close range (a nice nod to realism that, for those with any experience with early blackpowder guns). The main enemies appear, at first, to be Spanish soldiers and Native Americans, but very early on it becomes clear that there's something off about them, and anyone who's done any gaming at all quickly picks out tell-tales signs that they're possessed/demonic/something like that. This combined with the ability to shift in and out of a parallel night/dark world lends the game a noticeably Silent Hill-ish feel.

Betrayer has some notable shortcomings. As compelling as the story is, the cold open leaves one wondering just what the protagonist's role in all of this is, and later on other details of the story either aren't well enough explained or left far too deep in subtext to satisfy. Gameplay is uneven at times, aggravated by how clumsily the weapons often handle versus the laser-precise ability of enemies to find and hit you. And it's not always apparent why you should move on from one region to the next, other than you've run out of things to do where you are.

None of these are fatal flaws, of course. Betrayer's unique setting and mostly-black and white aesthetic are big selling points, as is their attention to historical detail. All in all, a good game with some problems, but none that leave it unplayable.

*Actually, I take that back. If the devs have been serious about their work, the use of the St. George flag over the deserted colonies put the setting prior to at least the personal union of England and Scotland under James VI/I, so we're probably in the late sixteenth century here.

Atmosphere/mood elevate this above the repetitive nature of the game design. Gameplay boils down to talk to a ghost, help them remember how they died, move to the next area and repeat. Throw in some alright first person shooting for good measure and that's Betrayer. I was invested enough in the story to keep playing and for 5 bucks it's worth it to play something so unique, just don't expect anything groundbreaking.

For the time you put into this game and the experience you gain from playing it, I don't think it's worth it. Which is why I can't recommend it.
It's pretty much a running simulator with very basic combat and a hollow shell of a storyline.

The only cool thing I can give it props for is the visual style, which is very unique and appealing. Other than that there's not much I can say that is positive about it.

To copy an article I saw this game is good when its good and well the rest is just meh. Lots of running from place to place but it was almost relaxing as the game was never to difficult and its basically just check everything on the map and shoot stuff when you need to. Interesting design and story. Check it out if you feel so inclined but you wont be missing too much but still ill recommend it

I picked this up for $1 in a GMG mystery box during a flash sale about 5 years ago. I am really glad I did not just throw the key out onto the community board like I usually do when I get random games from bundles/mystery boxes/etc. I am pleasantly surprised by this little gem which sat in my backlog for years.

Key things you really need to know about Betrayer:
1) It's mystery game set in early colonial America with a decent story (that you have to actually search for).
2) It may look like a horror game, but it is not particularly suspenseful or tense in my opinion. It's more...desolate, than anything else. At least there are no cheap jump scares.
3) It is what I would call a walking simulator with light combat. Despite the achievements requiring a lot of kills, the combat in this game is pretty simple and not very tense. There is really no downside to dying other than perhaps having to hoof it back to where you died.
4) It is black and white by default, but it can be tweaked all the way to full color if you like. I played just a very muted color scheme (barely visible beyond grey) just to take some harshness off my eyes whilst maintaining that otherworldly feel.
5) Sound is extremely important. I recommend playing with headphones. One of the primary features of the game for navigation requires sound, not to mention a fun mechanic wherein you can muffle your movement with timing the prevalent winds.

I really don't want to get into much detail as to avoid spoiling the game, but if you are looking for a laid back sleuth adventure, this a great way to spend a few bucks and hours of your life.

7/10...would star in Law & Order: Special COLONIAL GHOSTS Victims Unit again.

I think the large open world is a bit too open and empty. I didn't enjoy how long I was walking around the woods without any storyline or encounters to give me something to do. I usually give games at least an hour, but I got bored.

It's a weird niche game but I liked the visuals and using sound as gameplay mechanic. Even though the gameplay seemed innovative, it became repetitive very quickly. The story is meh. I felt like generic horror stories are being thrown at me and I couldn't relate to any character or story.

I have a major weakness for horror stories with historical settings, and early Colonial America is one of my favorite time/place combos, so I was deeply intrigued by Betrayer when it first released. I started playing it back then but didn't manage to make it very far. Recently, though, it crept back into my thoughts for no obvious reason (though if I had to guess, I'd say it's a mix of quarantine-induced boredom and the beginning of autumn), and I decided to give it another try.

This time around I stuck with it until the end, which meant about 12 hours of gameplay. I was immediately drawn in by the mystery; the game avoids telling you too much about what's going on until the end, and even then it remains fairly open, allowing the player to draw a lot of their own conclusions. The story is a little sparse; that could be a good or bad thing depending on your tastes, but as someone who generally likes very story-heavy games, I think this one struck a good balance. The important thing is that there was a solid enough framework that I could fill in the blanks of the story in a way that was satisfying to me, and that was part of what drove me to make it until the end of the game.

I was also drawn in by the gorgeous environment. Make no mistake, this game was made in 2014 and at times it really looks like it (although that's not meant as a criticism). But what prevents the visuals from looking too much like a product of their time is the masterful use of color saturation, or lack thereof. I was initially afraid that the default black and white of the world, while interesting and unique, would muddle things and prevent me from really playing, what with my vision being god awful, but thankfully the visual settings are very customizable. I played around with them a lot before I settled on settings where my eyes were comfortable, and I made adjustments throughout the game for the sake of continued experimentation, so just know that if you're worried about the black and white blurring things, you're not locked into that color scheme and you have a remarkable degree of control over how the world looks at any given time.

In terms of actual gameplay, it's nothing special. You encounter an array of period-appropriate weapons that are intuitive and easy to wield, including bows, guns, and tomahawks. Combat is simple, essentially point and shoot. Enemy behavior is easy to understand; there are about half a dozen different enemy types and there aren't any special tricks to killing them, you just have to hit them. Most of the time I was perfectly okay with this, as I typically tried to avoid enemies if I could, but sometimes I found myself getting a little bored with the combat and wishing there were just one more new and different enemy type to encounter. Especially after going through a handful of areas and acquiring more powerful weapons, enemies that had been fairly challenging to me early on I could eventually one-shot with ease, but it didn't feel like I had actually learned how to be better at killing them, just that I had now reached a level of power where doing anything other than one-shotting them wasn't really an option. If you love the feeling of picking off enemies one by one with no chance of getting hurt (which who doesn't every now and then?), this is great, but by the end I found myself hoping for a bit more of a challenge. After all, it takes away a little bit of the fear factor if you can just put an arrow through someone's face and be done with it.

Additionally, I ran into the problem of just NEVER using certain weapon types. I carried them around with me and almost always had full ammo because I'm a little hoarder, but I developed such a clear preference for certain weapons that I almost began to wonder if that was an intentional design choice. Now, it could just be that I'm not that good at shooting things (which is totally possible), but I just couldn't help but wonder why you would ever bother with a musket when you could just keep nocking arrows and take out three enemies in the time it would take you to stuff everything down the barrel of the gun. I also never used tomahawks or melee weapons; in fact, I don't think I ever even FOUND a melee weapon, and I scoured each map pretty thoroughly (because, again, I'm a hoarder). That one I'm also willing to chalk up to me just not being very good at the game and/or brainfarting and missing something obvious, but again I had to ask why bother including it if I can get through the whole game without it and not really die? Except those times I got repeatedly killed trying to storm the fort on the Sentry Post map... but I learned my lesson after that.

My only other complaint involves the listening feature, which I just never quite figured out how to use properly. Maybe it was because I was always consulting the map, which showed me the locations of anything I could possibly want to find, but I didn't feel like listening added a whole lot to my experience. If using the map with all the markers turned on feels too cheaty to you, you'll probably get great use out of listening, but to me it just felt superfluous. Maybe it also would be more effective to those playing with headphones.

All things considered, Betrayer is a worthwhile investment if you're looking for a horror game that's lighter on scares and story and heavier on exploration. The most compelling thing about the game is unraveling the mystery of what happened to the colonists, and discovering the detritus of their lives and how everything fits together. There are many threads weaving into one cloth, but you as the player can embellish it how you like. It's not particularly revolutionary, but Betrayer has a lot of unique elements that add up to an enjoyable experience, especially if you're looking for a little bit of mystery. I suppose it's more fair to characterize it as a historical mystery with horror elements rather than a traditional horror game, so this would be a good game for someone who wants to be a little scared but mostly wants to solve a mystery. (Me.) Or for someone who likes desolate, beautiful settings with a side of fright. (Also me.) But whichever aspect of the game first draws you to it, you'll find it a rewarding experience.

Okay just finished this game and I think now I am qualified enough to share my experience as a review for this game.

Well it's 2020 and this game was released in 2014 so that's almost over half a decade now that this game is out in the market. So it's not something new which should be reviewed since so many game reviewing sites have already shared their opinions but I still would like to give my two cents as well.

It's a solid game with somewhat decent but half cooked story. I am not saying the story sucks but it can get little overwhelming to grasp for people who are not used to such type of narration style where you extract information from everywhere in fragments and then combine them together to make sense out of it.
If you are one of those people then congratulations this game is for you. I personally did not have any problem with this game or its story, infact I found it very interesting. The horror part is also well put and you are always on constant alert while exploring the areas cuz you never know what might come next to you.

It does have some learning curve and in the beginning it can get frustrating when you get one hit killed by your enemies but if you are patient enough by the end you will have better weapons and equipments to handle any situation, ofcourse it's no call of duty but it'll a lot easier for you to handle any situation or hordes of enemies if needed.

So you're done reading, so what are you waiting for go ahead add it to your library ;)

This is one of the most atypical FPS I've played. It's not fast paced, and even tho there is combat (and is really satisfactory, too) the game is hardly about it. Think of it as a detective story with lots of supernatural elements. The historical setting in which the story unfolds fits perfectly, and the decision to make the game black and white (although you can play it in full color, too) makes the atmosphere even more unnerving. In short, play it. It's a solid game with a lot of scary moments.

Great time waster, with some nice visuals, story and writing.

The gameplay is repetitive but fairly satisfying, you get a nice sense of progression as your arsenal expands and you explore more and more of the map.

I hope more games embrace this mix of walking simulator and first person shooter, it works really well.

Betrayer is a very interesting game with a curious setting.

Story only resolves itself after you find everything, and it's a bit confusing to understand it all if you don't pay attention. You find yourself completely lost and clueless, and onyl after finding the memories and speaking with the ghosts you'll find out what really happened in the place.
For that, it is not great but nice.

Gameplay consists of an also not so great combat, but it works. Enemies are kinda tough, so you'll end up needing to use stealth to survive. Also, aiming for the head saves ammo...

This game is a different experience, to say the truth.
If you're more into action, you may find it boring.

I liked it a lot, great game. It's difficult to talk about Betrayer, but i DO recommend. Take your time to play it, and i believe you can also enjoy it as much as i do.

Manifest your destiny.

There was a big emphasis on stealth at the beginning of the game, but the enemies can see you from across the map, often before you see them. You'll just hear an audio cue that lets you know you've been spotted then maybe 15 seconds later someone will run out a bush and attack you. About 2 hours in, I straight up lost interest in sneaking around so horribly that I may as well have had a fully-automatic flair gun sticking out of my character's ass.
There's a point where you get good enough weapons that stealth becomes obsolete anyway. By the end of the game I was mowing through enemies in what felt like a 17th century skin of DOOM.

I sprinted to every icon on the map, retrieved tools, then went back to previous areas to uncover better stuff with said tools. I basically did a completionist speed run, and had fun doing it. I skimmed most all of the notes and read all the conversations. Pretty sad stories unfold, and I found the end somewhat predictable.

If you play it like an FPS you'll basically earn the title GOD OF THE NEW WORLD. Another review said It's a 15 hour adventure, that my friend, is up to you. You can slink around like a real shipwrecked survivor would (and should for the first 2 hours), or you chuck that crap in the F***-it bucket and exert your authority on the new world like a champ.

Great use of 5 dollars. Strongly recommend.

A unique setting and game.

When we learn about the early colonial days of America, it's usually blown past. Jamestown, Plymouth, and the mystery of Roanoke are usually mentioned and moved on from. We tend to forget just what it was like.

Living in a English colony was dangerous, scary, and unearthly.

The natives in the woods are probably not friendly to you, a foreign invader, and they'll exact bloody vengeance. The Spanish and French are always at war with England, and colonists are fair game to attack. There are pirates on the seas, and these people brought there old world superstitions too! Witches, ghosts, and demons are all quite real to these settlers.

That is the setting Betrayer dumps you into. The supernatural elements are on full display here. You could interpret the story and setting in a few ways, this could be the New world seen through a colonists eyes. The Conquistadors are demonic animalistic beings, the natives shadows that stalk upon you and strike. Your only ally a woman in red who may or may not be a witch.

Also with this uniqueness is your weapons, bows, crossbows, tomahawks, bombs, and muskets. This brings another layer of uniqueness as the weapons have pros and cons. Arrows can be retrieved, muskets hit harder but take time to reload and can run out of ammunition.

You have to scour the maps and remember where things are, it's easy to get lost in the wilderness and your enemies are merciless.

All in all I'd definitely suggest you play this for a unique gaming experience unlike any other.

Betrayer is the kind of indie game that seems to run with the idea that a striking visual style (greyscale with a lick of red) is enough innovation to overcome a massive technological disadvantage. In this case, the disadvantage comes in the form of central gameplay mechanics similar in many ways to spawning zombies in Garry’s Mod for your friend to kill with overpowered weapon mods you downloaded online. Given a variety of rudimentary colonial weapons and plonked right into early 17th century Virginia, you’re tasked with searching the largely empty wilderness surrounding a British fort for a variety of treasures, all while fighting or avoiding a variety of undead conquistadors.

The first problem arises with these conquistadors, who either stand totally still while aiming a firearm or rush at you in a straight line, so any semblance of challenge (or the need to actually sneak around) quickly shatters when you realise that the first, shitty bow you’re given is more than sufficient for eliminating just about anything the game will throw at you. Failing interesting combat, the game’s large map emphasises exploration, but given that most of the space is just featureless, repetitive forest, there really isn’t anything to see except the very specific object you’ve been told to go look at and haphazard smattering of Spanish zombies, that falls flat as well. The main problem here isn’t really a lack of ambition: Betrayer has the scale of a much higher-budget title, it’s just that none of the grand open world is utilised effectively enough to warrant even having one.

With better atmosphere, better combat, or even a thing or two to see around the place, Betrayer might have been able to scrape by on its high production value and actually interesting setting, but in the bland, vapid state it currently sits it’s not really anywhere approaching a recommendation.

This game was wonderful. It looked so amazing in black and white that I didn't know you could change it to have colour, the red accents to things that you should pay attention too really made the black and white beautiful. The ending tho was really lack luster to me. I would recommend the game despite all the repitition it has. The landscapes are really amazing. The fact that you can narrow things down on your map also helped abunch because I wasnt on a wild goose chase to find things. The dialog is also good. It definitly has repition and could take alittle pushing to pull through it, after my third day of opening it up I really had to push myself to finish it. Despite this it was amazing, I would recommend.

Betrayer was one of my first games on Steam. The game has a unique setting and artstyle, gameplay. Using XVII century weapons that are slow makes the stealth system even more important. The lack of music makes this game pretty calming, the combat is basic, but good.

The story is interesting also the missions have interesting stories to tell.

I love the artstyle, you really should play it in black and white it gaves to this strange calm, but not really that calm atmosphere justice. Overall a good game, not perfect, but good

Its a solid 7/10

A lonely and harrowing detective mystery built inside a supernatural retelling of America's colonial founding. Although the actual FPS-style gameplay is fairly rudimentary, it doesn't get boring, and these sequences are usually kept short as they serve a much more satisfying, narrative purpose. You're offered a largely open-world to explore with clever audio cues that help guide you between interestingly assembled clues and set pieces that - at first - don't seem connected, but quickly begin to a assemble a terrifying image of life and death in a lawless place. Sickness, murder, treason, and disappearances all pockmark the map's surface and the spirits of those whose deaths remain unresolved await your assistance to write the game's story.

I acknowledge that the game is not that great. I think i was in the right mind set when i played the game but even then the game was average.
