Die Kampanie ist ganz schön....aber der Multiplayer ist einfach nur spamen....da nur karten gespielt werden die reich an Ressourcen sind wird einfach eisen Gefarmt und verkauft niemand produziert Waffen und Rüstungen zudem ist das Truppenlimit auf diesen Maps drastisch erhöht.....wenn du versuchst mal eine andere karte zu spielen bzw. den rang Modus verwendest bekommst du keine Spieler oder diese leaven nach 1 min. Du hast alle Gebäude nach 5 min. gebaut und der Rest ist einfach nurnoch sinnlos Truppen gegeneinander zu schicken

Leider ist dieses Spiel vollkommen unbalanced. Sowohl die Bösen wie auch die Eis Fraktion haben starke und vielseitige magische Kreaturen, Kriecher die Lanzenträger und Bogenschützen im Dutzend betäuben und bekehren, Riesen die mit einem Streich mehrere Meter Wall von Gegnern befreien.....
Die Ritter der Tafelrunde auf Seite des Guten sind dafür nicht im Ansatz ein Ausgleich. Spielspaß oder Frust hängen von der Fraktion ab. Startprobleme und stündliche Abstürze tun ihr übriges, also finger weg.
Ich bleibe bei den Klassikern Stronghold HD und Crusader sind bei weitem besser und laufen reibungslos.

Ich mag das Spielkonzept von Stronghold sehr und auch wenn die Grafik von Legends nicht einmal ansatzweise an das Original heranreicht, so ist der Fantasieaspekt eine der großen Stärken. Mal exotischere Einheiten bauen und die Strategien damit erweitern. Das war es dann aber auch schon zum Positiven.

Stronghold war für mich immer auch ein Wirtschaftsspiel. Deshalb sollte es immer auch die Möglichkeit geben, durch eine überlegende Wirtschaft zu triumphieren bzw. durch das Zerstören der gegnerischen Wirtschaft. Hier kommen wir zu meinem absoluten Nogo: Selbst auf einen sehr einfachen Schwierigkeitsgrad hat der Gegner unendlich Ressourcen. Er hatte nur noch seine Mauern mit Armbrustschützen auf den Wällen und baute diese munter weiter. Das ist einfach nur schlechtes KI-Design und verdirbt mir einfach jeden Spaß auf dieses Spiel.

I dont know what it is about this game but i love it. ive been playing it for several years and i still play it. building a castle and commanding where your troops move is very fun. i also love being able to be in creative and build anything i want with as many npcs as i want.

TLDR: Game has a known bug which causes FPS to drop to 1 with each mouse movement. No fix other than to roll back your GFX card to a previous version.

Awesome game from my childhood. I have the old disc version, which I recently installed. It was laggy as all hell. So, I bought the steam version, which too, became unplayable after about 20 minutes.

Every movement of the mouse pointer reduces your FPS to 1, and promptly causes the game to crash.

The fix is to roll back your graphics card to a previous version. That's a no dawg from me.

Refund requested. Sadly I would avoid this game.

Not the steam version. The startup s...is so bad. My system is pretty decent and the game doesnt even take up much memory and stuff but the whole system nearly hangs and sometimes does hang upon launch.

Stronghold Legends: Steam Edition is a tactical strategy game developed by FireFly Studios.

Gameplay / Story

In Legends there are three so-called legend campaigns, each dedicated to a different legend and therefore also to a different people. Each of them has its associated relative level of difficulty, whereby the difficulty of the game can be set manually independently of this.

The goods and production chains are largely taken from the predecessor, but the relative construction costs of various buildings have changed significantly. Goods such as wood or stone are always localized and must therefore be transported between production, storage and processing locations. When building buildings, trading and recruiting soldiers, however, the necessary materials are used directly in the warehouse.

The available soldiers (lancers, bow and crossbowmen, pikemen, maces and swordsmen, knights) are the same as in the previous version. The weapons and armor required are unchanged, but the costs have been modified. All melee units except Lancers now require honor for training, while ranged fighters can be recruited without honor. Horses for knights are no longer bred, but can be purchased for honor.

Campaigns

This campaign is about King Arthur and the knights of his round table, with Merlin in particular playing an important role. The environment in this story is lush and has numerous green trees. In order to continue with another campaign, you must have completed at least two missions from this one. In addition, there are special units such as B. Sir Gareth, Sir Bedivere, green dragon.

This section deals with Dietrich von Bern and his conquest of the north. It is a lot more difficult than its predecessor, since it introduces numerous difficulties in the military and business. Gameplay / Story

In Legends gibt es drei sogenannte Legenden-Kampagnen, die sich jeweils einer anderen Legende und somit auch einem anderen Volk widmen. Jede davon hat ihren zugehörigen relativen Schwierigkeitsgrad, wobei die Schwierigkeit des Spielverlaufes unabhängig davon manuell eingestellt werden kann.

Die Güter und Produktionsketten sind größtenteils aus dem Vorgänger übernommen, allerdings sind die relativen Baukosten verschiedener Gebäude deutlich verändert. Güter, wie z.B Holz oder Stein, sind grundsätzlich lokalisiert, müssen also zwischen Produktions-, Lager- und Verarbeitungsorten transportiert werden. Beim Bau von Gebäuden, beim Handel und beim Rekrutieren von Soldaten hingegen werden die erforderlichen Materialien direkt im Lager verbraucht.

Die verfügbaren Soldaten (Lanzenträger, Bogen- und Armbrustschützen, Pikeniere, Streitkolben- und Schwertkämpfer, Ritter) sind dieselben wie im Vorgänger. Die benötigten Waffen und Rüstungen sind unverändert, allerdings sind die Kosten modifiziert. Alle Nahkampfeinheiten außer Lanzenträgern erfordern nun Ehre zur Ausbildung, Fernkämpfer hingegen können auch ohne Ehre rekrutiert werden. Pferde für Ritter werden nicht mehr gezüchtet, sondern können für Ehre erworben werden.

Kampangen

In dieser Kampagne geht es um König Artus und die Ritter seiner Tafelrunde, wobei besonders Merlin eine bedeutende Rolle spielt. Die Umwelt in dieser Geschichte ist üppig bewachsen und hat zahlreiche grüne Bäume. Um mit einer anderen Kampagne fortfahren zu können, muss man mindestens zwei Missionen von dieser abgeschlossen haben. Zusätzlich gibt es Sondereinheiten wie z. B. Sir Gareth, Sir Bedivere, grüner Drache.

Dieser Abschnitt beschäftigt sich mit Dietrich von Bern und seiner Eroberung des Nordens. Er ist um einiges schwieriger als der Vorgänger, da er zahlreiche Erschwernisse in Militär und Wirtschaft neu einbringt. Auch ändert sich die Umwelt: Die Gegend ist nun in einem verschneiten Eisthema, welches im Besonderen die Farben weiß und hellblau in den Vordergrund stellt. Zusätzlich gibt es Sondereinheiten wie z. B. Eisriesen, Eiskönigin, Eisdrache.

In der dritten und letzten Kampagne spielt man Vlad den Pfähler. Sie ist als schwerste von allen konzipiert. Erkennbar ist dies vor allem an den vielen sehr starken gegnerischen Einheiten und hohen Anforderungen für das Erreichen der nächsten jeweiligen Stufe. Dieses Mal zeichnet sich die Umgebung durch den markanten roten Boden und die abgestorbenen Bäume aus. Zusätzlich gibt es Sondereinheiten wie z. B. Werwölfe, Zauberer, böser Drache

Zudem gibt es mehrere kurze Legenden-Pfade. Wie die Kreuzzugsmärsche in Stronghold Crusader bieten diese eine Serie verschiedener Gefechtskarten.

Alles in einem macht das Spiel trotzdem Spaß. Ich persönlich würde aber auf ein Sale warten, um hier zuzugreifen.

I'm so sick of finding RTS' that don't know how to program good unit movement. Is ago of empires the only one who got it right? Constantly I found myself getting frustrated with my units standing around and not attacking when I order them to. Even when enemies are pushing into them (and I have the attack stance on) they just stand around. I order them to attack units on a wall and they just walk into fire and die instead of returning fire. Even worse is the campaign. Who thought it was a good idea to make hero units that move so slow that it takes you a half hour to finish a campaign simply because you're waiting on them to get to a point on the map. Awful unit design. Don't buy.

It is a game for all stronghold fans looking for a stronghold 3 etc.
It is a Decent stronghold game to come but not whit this game developer group.

It offer alternative with a lot of creatures but idea and storyline do remain the same. worth your time if i may, just dont go to mess with stronghold 3? cause that is some weird shit

This is the second to last Stronghold game I have left to play (Crusader 2 will be the last). So far, this is the worst Stronghold I've played, and the only one so far that I would recommend against. It has quite a few problems and very few redeeming qualities to it. If you're a big Stronghold fan, it might be worth picking up if it's on sale for a few bucks, but it's definitely not something to waste leisure money on otherwise - yes, even if it is just 15 dollars. There's just too many other things that would give you more fun for your money.

Pros:
It does fix SOME of the more annoying mechanics of Stronghold 2
The special units are undeniably fun, and add a layer of complexity to the combat that Stronghold 2 lacked

Cons:
Glitchy (Crashes alot, dragon ballistae like to attack YOUR OWN buildings once they're out of targets, general AI behavior weirdness, etc., etc.)
Exceptionally boring campaigns
Economy is much less fun to play around with than in previous SH installments
Balancing (which admittedly has never been GREAT in Stronghold) is bad enough that you find yourself using the same strategies over and over without much room to play around with new ones.

It seems this game offers nostalgia for people but it really is a bad game. Balance is nonexistent. Combat is still clunky but less satisfying. Honor system is basically a waste of time. I gave it a chance, Maybe I'll try again later but I doubt it. Got $2 worth I paid for it.

Update: Played one more game and I'm done with it. It's painfully bad. Not worthy of being called a Stronghold game. I'm crazy about Steam editions all capping out population and breaking the game with these events. I'm sticking to Stronghold Crusader which is actually well done, aside from the balance problems XD

one of my favorite games of all time and one of the best fantasy medieval castle building, economy managing and army commanding games. i have played it for years and it still doesn't get old.

i like this game keeps me playing for hours just having fun and trying different strategies which makes very hard like using a single type of soldier to defend or attack

Absolutely love this game, usually find myself playing it more than any other stronghold. I'm happy to finally own the Steam edition after playing the CD version for years. Multiplayer is a little buggy and sometimes lobbies crash but at least we can play online again, just like the good ole days of Firefly servers!

If you own the CD version of this game, the steam edition will sync your trophies and give you the appropriate achievements. At least it did for me since I already added the CD version of the game to my Steam/steamapps/common folder.

One of my favorite Stronghold games. Can be difficult and exciting. I wish it had more King Arthur and less Siegfried of Xanten and Count Vladislav Dracul.

LOTR and Stronghold would make an excellent combination if done like Legends.

Very fun (albeit somewhat unbalanced game) this holds lost of nostalgia filled hours with me as a young lad, and returning its just as fun and hectic as i remember. Love it.

Buy the entire stonghold colection!!!! Fuck Activision blizzard etc play some good old games that are fun !!!!!

This IS the best RTS Castle Building PC game you can play. It is very simple at its best, but has a fantastic UI and has so many positives when it comes to it's in game modes. Everything you could want from a medieval style game, with a fantasy take on some troops. Trust me you will enjoy playing this game!

So unpopular, but it's really unjustly :((((( This game is really cool, everyone remembers Stronghold 2, and the first parts, but everyone's forgotten about this masterpiece.
It's like Stronghold 2, but it has much more abilities and especially units.
It also looks better like in fairy tale and it makes gameplay more playable and enjoyable.
If you like other parts of Stronghold u definitely must try it. Came out in a year after legendary SH2 and, I guess after success of the previous part no one spotted it, it has 3 different companies, 4 legends' paths which are really hard. More multiplayer abilities. Really underestimated game :((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((
