habe mich echt drauf gefreud

Mal sehen was draus wird.

Still an extremely janky game with many many issues. It's got a long way to go before I can recommend it without caveats. However, it still does present its own spin on the Minecraft-esque open world survival craft and is being continuously updated. If you really dig that kind of sandbox, no pun intended, then this is not a bad way to spend ten dollars and genuinely still has potential to be a solid entry into the genre.

Woooooooooooow! This has really come a long way since the last time I looked. Been following this game since before it was on steam, and I am happy to see the cartoony version of the game is no longer the focus. I always love the realistic graphics and the block complexity. As a seasoned builder, I am excited to give this game another go. Good job Jens, keep it up.

This game has come along way over the years. Its being made by one person and is very impressive considering that fact. If you like building in Minecraft but want more in depth shape options you will definitely enjoy this games offerings. However while this game has insane potential and I believe that it will eventually reach that potential because of how passionate the person making it {Jen} is and has been from the start years ago. It is not there yet. There isn't much of a core gameplay loop and a lot of little unpolished issues that can take you right out of the experience that is available so far. If you really only like building and want to help a passionate creator, then I say go for it. Otherwise probably hold off and keep checking back for progress.

I've bought and played so many potentially decent games with terrible developers over the years (shout out to Project Zomboid!). This is still the only game I ever truly regretted purchasing even after so many years. Looking at where the 'game' is at now, it doesn't seem to have gone anywhere fruitful with all the money and time it has been given. Given the opportunity, I'd refund in a heartbeat.

If you buy this game, just know that you are supporting the developer's hobby as a game designer. You are not buying a complete or functional product and I guarantee you that if (BIG IF) this game ever comes out of early access, it will be so simplified and uncharacteristic of whatever original artwork lured you in, that you will find yourself years later writing a review based on the hope that you steer potential buyers away. Kind of like I am doing right now. There's simply no justification for the lack of collaboration, transparency, or professionalism from the developer to continue this long without a finished working or even Beta edition of the game. Children born when this game was first announced will be able to drive before it comes out, and they will probably be dust in their graves before we see a version that matches what was first advertised.

I have been following this game for years and watching it grow more and more. I know the developer is putting his joy and passion into it an it shows. It may not have the fastest development cycle on the surface but it is anything but abandoned. I'm sticking around for more and I'm excited for it.

Bought this game early on in my high school days when it had more polygon shapes to it in the beginning, as time has moved on this game has evolved into a very unique game, one where I've enjoyed playing for quite some time. It gave me a minecraft feel without the 8-bit texture style, this game even had shapes that are not in vanilla minecraft, which gave me more ideas for different ways to build. I have to give respect to the developer, from my understanding it's one person making this entire game, and yet they give updates to the game as much as possible which is fantastic to see. I've seen other indie games/developers in the past fail and abandon ship and this is NOT one of those developers!

Thank you for updating the game and working on new content, always a blast to see the new things added for everyone to test out. Keep up the good work, and I hope this review helps! :D

p.s. If I may suggest, possibly be more engaged with the users, possibly take more feedback from the people, or set up some polls on directions to build the game. Hopefully you can get a decent backing and hire some extra help.

Well, this is 11 dollars I'll never get back. Repurchased this in August 2016, mistakenly believing the resumed steady development (which later puttered out according to older reviews) meant Blockscape would see full release in a year or so. Boy, was that ever a mistake lol. Putting aside the loss of what were the fantastic realistic visuals this launched with, the game has essentially turned into one of many countless Minecraft clones.

You have your basic survival mode, where you have to gather resources and avoid a handful of interesting but kind of boring enemies ranging from snakes to rock golems who just beeline for you instead of displaying any flanking tactics. You also have your free for all building mode, with unlimited resources and the possibility of starting on a flat plane instead of countless randomly generated (but VERY similar) worlds. But unfortunately, both of these are far too into eating up your CPU and GPU cycles - even starting on a featureless world and throwing up a basic one storey 8x8 house saw ever-increasing lag and weird levels of processor activity. My usual trick of frame rate capping cranky programs doesn't work with Blockscape. I didn't buy this looking for a benchmarking tool so unfortunately Blockscape has been uninstalled yet again pending major changes.

While the game now sees semi-regular updates once again and interaction from the formerly silent sole developer, I'd still strongly suggest waiting for this to hit full release before purchasing it. He changed the entire look of the game once already, who knows what else might be done to it?

I think it's important to be concious that this is an indie game created by a single developer (Jens) and they are still active.

The voxel building in this game is really impressive, that alone is enough to qualify the asking price. Also, at the time of writing this, the game has been in early access for some years, if this is the sort of thing that bothers you then just wishlist it and forget about it for another year or so haha.

If you like sandbox voxel building then you really should give it a try. My brief time playing this game has really stuck in my memory, there are few voxel builders with the same level of detail and complexity. I frequently come back and check on Blockscape to see how well it's progressing and at less than a tenner I'm more than happy to lend my support to this dev.

First off to all whiners bought the game during early acess :..early acess means game is in development and can be altered in any point of this very process . If you dont like such : do NOT buy early acess Games .

the Game :

I bought this way back ( in early acess ), i was curious and i liked it . The realistic Graphics been awesome but also came with a huge sideeffect : Game was getting slow and had a long loading process . It wassnt very optimized . I do understand the Developer , when it comes to an point to decide .. better performance or realistic graphics .I personally think he tryed to find a middle way of both plus not loosing his vision of this game .

The direction he is going with this game may not please all , but a lot and people who still love it will keep playing .

The game itself gives you complete liberty to build whatever you want .. including shaping of Terrain , repainting surfaces and so on .I find it a very relaxing game wich lives off your own imagination .
You can even play and build together with a friend .

Despite all the negative comments the dev still hangs on this and try to make his vision come true .keep it going !

I totally recommend this game with all the ups and downs :)

The first thing is to ignore all of the promo pictures of this game at the time of writing this. They are from a version of the game that will not be developed further. The realistic look is gone. Apparently the developer couldn't figure out how to make that work properly and instead of hiring help, he's scrapping it entirely. The local evangelists will tell you it will still be available, but it needs a lot of development to reach a playable state, so that will not happen now.

The version that is now under development will look sort of like Mario64, see the project's webpage or the developer's twitter for screenshots of that. If that is what you want to like to build your creations in, then by all means get this game (or better yet, wait for it to be updated to an actually playeble state). I was lured in by the false pretenses of the realistic look and the new version is not the game I'd thought I was buying. Therefore, a big thumbs down from me.
