How do I get my beta code?
Anyone who pre-purchases Escape Dead Island on Steam (or pre-orders at participating retailers), will receive a special code granting access to the Dead Island 2 beta.
You will be able to find this code by clicking on “CD Key” under LINKS in the Steam Library entry for Escape Dead Island. If it is not there immediately today, please be patient as it will be visible well before the Dead Island 2 beta starts.
On November 18, 2014, the beta code redemption website will be live at http://beta.deadisland.com. You won’t need to register; simply enter your email address, the beta access code, and your platform of choice and you will receive a confirmation email.
The options will be PC (Steam), PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Most of you will probably be playing on PC if you are reading this, but if you want to play it on PS4 or Xbox One instead, we won’t restrict you in your platform choice!
If you don’t know yet which platform you will want to play the Dead Island 2 beta on, you can redeem the code on the website until the beta is about to start.
How will this beta work?
We are still working on the exact content, length, and timing of the Dead Island 2 beta. Of course, it will take place some time before Dead Island 2 is out next year, so that we can use all of the gathered data and feedback from beta players to make Dead Island 2 even better!
As part of the beta process,waves of players will be invited to scale up our testing process. If you pre-purchased Escape Dead Island, you are guaranteed to start playing the beta at the earliest availability.
If you have registered for the Dead Island 2 beta, we will send you an email when the beta is about to start, and provide you with a platform-specific beta access code for the platform you selected.
