Conquest: Awakening

Following the destruction of the artefact shard at Sigyn’s Breath, shockwaves from the explosion reached as far as the site of the original artefact discovery; Sudenica DA-9C.

The resulting blast had awoken something beneath the surface of the site; an ancient artefact, something alive.

This ancient relic became known as the “The Eye”.

Corporations have now set up nearby bases of operations in an attempt to contain this power for their own research.

Newton Siddis has tasked us in ensuring the corporations don’t get their hands on this tech. He wants the Eye for himself, and he wants it alive.

Awakening is a new Conquest variant featuring:
  • New Titan themed Home Bases
  • New Alpha and Beta Sectors
  • New Gamma featuring the Ark’ain Eye Boss

Titan Base

The Titan Base features 3 Missile Turrets that automatically engage enemies attacking the base.
  • Turrets have 8,000 hit points
  • Turrets fire a volley of 14 missiles every 6 seconds
  • Missiles deal 100 damage each but can be destroyed with Point Defence

The Titan base features a Base Core that must be destroyed to win the game.
  • The Base Core has 60,000 hit points

Gamma Sector

The new Gamma sector features the Ark’ain Eye Boss.
  • The Boss comes Online periodically (like previous Gamma variants)
  • When defeated the Boss will release buffs for all players in the Gamma Sector
  • The level of Gamma buff your team receives is determined by the amount of damage your team dealt to it during the fight

The Ark’ain Eye has two weapon systems:

Beam Attack – The Boss will target a player and fire a powerful beam at them that cannot be evaded.
  • Each team has a hidden “threat list” – the player on each team with the highest threat (the player that has dealt the most damage to the Boss) is the target of the Beam Attack.
  • The Beam Attack deals a mix of percentage Damage and normal Damage. Over 4 seconds it will deal 16% + 800 Damage. Beam damage scales up 25% each time it comes Online.
  • The Beam Attack will be fired once at each team, then the boss will use its Gravity Attack.

Gravity Attack – The Boss pulls ALL players towards it before releasing a large Repulse style attack that damages and knocks them away.
  • The Repulse part of the Gravity attack deals 1500/2000/2500 Damage in addition to shoving ships away.
  • After using its Gravity Attack the boss will cycle back to firing its Beam.

Gamma Buff Distribution
  • Once defeated, the boss releases a buff for all players in the Gamma Sector
  • For each 20% damage that your team deals to the Boss before it shuts down you will receive 1 level of Gamma Buff (up to a maximum of Gamma 3).

Gamma Buffs
  • Gamma l provides your team with +5% fire rate, +10% damage reduction, +10% movement speed, and -10% to your cooldowns.
  • Gamma ll provides your team with +7.5% fire rate, +15% damage reduction, +15% movement speed, and -15% to your cooldowns.
  • Gamma lll provides your team with +10% fire rate, +20% damage reduction, +20% movement speed, and -20% to your cooldowns.

Legacy Episodes

Introducing Legacy Episodes – previously released Fractured Space episode packs available again for purchase with all their exclusive content and that episode’s game mode unlocked to play in Solo.

Legacy Episodes can be browsed and purchased under the new Legacy Episodes page on the store. There, you will be able to explore each episode, browse its content, watch trailers, and catch up on the lore across the current storyline of Newton Siddis and the power of the Ark’ain.

Once a Legacy Episode is owned, that episode’s mode will then be playable as a solo game mode. Select ‘Solo’ then ‘Legacy Episodes’ in the game mode selection screen to access these.

Players who had bought the Episode Pack when that episode was originally available will instantly have access to the solo mode when it becomes a Legacy Episode.

The first Legacy Episodes available as part of The Awakening update will be Last Stand, Episode 1: Discovery, Episode 2: The Rift, and Episode 3: Catalyst.

Legacy Episodes are available at 2000 platinum each.

As part of this feature’s release, the Last Stand Campaign and the Last Stand Campaign Pack will no longer be active. If you had previously bought the Last Stand Campaign Pack, any unearned rewards in the campaign will be automatically gifted to you. If you had not bought the Last Stand Campaign Pack, fear not – all the exclusive rewards from the Last Stand Campaign are now in the Last Stand Legacy Episode Pack and are unlocked instantly upon purchase.

Also - Please note that playing a Legacy Episode in Solo does not track progress towards Medals or their attached unlocks, such as the Last Stand Badges and Swarm skins. This will currently be the case for all released and subsequent Legacy Episode Packs.

Ultimate Skin - TDS Vengeance Aegis

Adopt the darkness with the new Ultimate Skin: the TDS Aegis Vengeance, available only for a limited time.

This new ultimate skin will be available in The Awakening Episode Pack for 2000 platinum – 1600 platinum cheaper than the regular price of an ultimate skin on its own – which also includes a new hangar environment, two limited edition emotes, and more.

You can also earn the ultimate skin for free as part of The Awakening Episode Rewards, where you can also earn an exclusive badge, nameplate, and emote.

Both The Awakening Episode Pack and Episode Rewards are only available until the 18th October.

If you have already purchased The Awakening Episode Pack and then go on to earn the Vengeance ultimate skin as part of the Episode Rewards, the Vengeance ultimate skin will burn for 1000 platinum. For those that earn the Vengeance ultimate skin as part of The Awakening Episode Rewards before purchasing The Awakening Episode Pack will earn a 50% discount towards the pack, making it just 1000 platinum.

Custom Emotes

Now available - Custom Emotes grant you the ability to emote outside of the chat command wheel. 12 new emotes have been added to the game, including “Fist Bump”, “This is Fine!”, “Go Team!”, and “Salt”.

8 of these emotes are available in the store. They can be purchased separately for 200 platinum each, or bundled up in the Emotes Bundle Vol. 1 at a 40% saving for 960 platinum.

2 separate custom emotes are included as limited-edition items in The Awakening Episode Pack, and the last custom emote can be earned as part of The Awakening Episode Rewards.

Chat wheel functionality has been expanded to accommodate the new wave of emotes. A second wheel, accessible via the Campaigns menu, can be customised with any of the emotes that you have unlocked; these emotes can also be bound to a key of your choice. The new emotes wheel can be accessed during a match by opening the chat wheel and selecting RMB.

The Awakening Episode Pack

The episode pack returns for The Awakening with a phenomenal offer – The Awakening Episode Pack contains the TDS Vengeance Aegis ultimate skin but will still be sold for 2000 platinum. That’s 1600 platinum cheaper than an ultimate skin is regularly sold at on its own.

The pack contains all of the following, instantly unlocked upon purchase:
  • TDS Vengeance Aegis ultimate skin
  • The Awakening hangar environment
  • Limited edition Captain Jonesy and Skull & Crossbones emotes
  • A limited-edition Badge and Nameplate
  • 3 x Crew Implant Pods

The Awakening Episode Pack will only be available for purchase until 18th October.

The Awakening Episode Rewards

Earn free rewards for playing The Awakening game mode in COOP or PvP. Play enough before the expiry date and earn yourself a FREE ultimate skin – the new TDS Aegis Vengeance.

Here are the current reward tiers – only completable by playing The Awakening game mode:
  • Play 6 Matches – “The Eye” Emote
  • Play 25 Matches – ‘Ark’ain Eye’ Badge and ‘Conservators Charge’ Nameplate
  • Play 60 Matches – The TDS Aegis Vengeance Ultimate Skin

The Awakening Episode Rewards will expire on 18th October 2018 and will need to be completed before then.

General Changes

Chat Command Emotes – Now in Drop Pods
The first batch of Starter Emotes released as part of the Catalyst update are now available to be earned in Drop Pods. All seven emotes, including ‘Good Luck, Have Fun’ and ‘Gamma Time’ will be Uncommon rewards and be earned at a rate equating to roughly 1 in 13 Drop Pods.

Any emotes earned in Drop Pods that you already own will burn for 80 platinum.

Profile Page Re-Design
The profile page has had a re-design, with many of the options now being collapse-able to keep everything neat and tidy.

Cloud saves
Local data (crew setups, ship loadouts, emotes etc.) is now saved in the cloud. This means you will not lose any of this data if you move PC’s, or reinstall the game. Please note however, that hardware and keybinding settings are not saved in the cloud this way.

Voting auto ready up
If 60 percent of players vote for the same gamemode in drafting, it skips the vote and goes for the majority vote to save time.

Removed the Last Stand game mode from Co-op
You’ll still be able to play the mode via the Legacy pack once purchased.

Status Effects/HUD Changes
Status effects are now visible above the hud tags of turret platforms (e.g. home base turrets, Endeavor turrets) and base cores (e.g. Discovery base core).

Also, the Ally status widgets (on the left side of the screen) and the status effect text above your current target are now both enabled by default.

Known Issues

Miscellaneous
  • Purging the Aegis transference shield will not fully remove the status effect
  • Russian Crew names are not correctly applying to a crew on restart of the game
  • Status text clips on ally widget if multiple buffs are applied
  • Graphical Settings applied in the launcher do not apply in game
  • The Brawler will revert to showing no skin at certain distances
  • The Hellhound Enforcer skin displays incorrectly at certain distances
  • The Centurion ship wreck displays bright lights when certain skins are applied

Awakening Bugs
  • Pinging the enemy base in Awakening will incorrectly report “Home base” in team chat for a specific team
  • Pinging “Alpha/Beta 1” for a specific team will report “Alpha/Beta 2” in team chat
  • Awakening always reports “Gamma 1” online, when this should just read “Gamma” online
  • Flying into the eye while in first person mode will clip the camera into the eyes interior
  • Turret health bars are not correctly updated on reconnecting to a game in progress
  • An errant cube appears in the home base

No balance changes have been made in this Update.
