Hello everyone!

Since the release I've been hard at work improving and optimizing Homebound. I thought it could be helpful to gather all the patch notes in one place.

Update 1.0.8.5
  • Increased interactivity in atmosphere re-entry when using Motion Controllers/Oculus Touch
  • Collision audio for physical actors
  • Reduced speed of ascend/descend
  • Made strafing, ascending and descending less sensitive
  • Strafing should now always be relative to player camera rotation and not character rotation
  • Reduced turn rate
  • Several meshes clipping in space station fixed
  • Increased visual fidelity in escape pod
  • Reduced fine bloom flicker in first room
  • Adjusted material reflectance of gloves
  • Adjusted material reflectance of bags and padding
  • Several Force Feedback triggers added
  • Items should no longer be able to be thrown out the cupola window
  • Reflectance values on set pieces in space station adjusted
  • Voiceover comments relative to items held should now properly play also when using the left hand
  • Station disaster will no longer trigger twice in certain scenarios

  • MEL's scanner beam should intersect less with geometry and players

  • Lowered camera rotation rate
  • Bug causing gamepad controls of navigation sequence not to update properly now fixed
  • Reduced camera shake during disaster sequence
  • Particle effects optimized
  • Overall audio levels lowered
  • Glass reflection over the red button should now render correctly
  • Overlapping VO during expulsion sequence should now be fixed
  • Door to The Crib is now opened automatically
  • Audio feedback when dying of asphyxiation added
  • Another way of triggering the disaster sequence added
  • Helmet HUD should no longer clip with other items
  • Replaced menu cursor - should now be easier to see


Update 1.0.6.0
  • Player should no longer be able to collide with held objects
  • Objects should much less frequently shoot off in high speed when flying into them
  • Bug causing player to drop item in one hand when releasing item held in another fixed
  • Added two more floppy disks, which should make finding 6 easier
  • Bug causing held items to stop simulating physics should now be fixed
  • More batteries for radio added
  • Batteries should no longer collide with player body, making grabbing easier
  • Collision model for floppy disks is now larger, making both grabbing and inserting into drive easier
  • Chips can no longer be triggered an unlimited amount of times
  • Interactable objects are now outlined/highlighted when in proximity
  • Fullscreen effect indicating oxygen depletion added
  • MEL's scanning cone should intersect with player and geometry much less noticably
  • Helmet HUD moved up slightly, improving readability
  • Escape pod no longer gets an objective marker - improving readability
  • Additional voiceover added
  • Added a little surprise at the end <3


Update 1.0.5.0
  • Disaster sequence cannot be triggered more than once anymore
  • Introduction to Free-Roam Mode added
  • Camera shake during atmosphere level is lowered which should reduce motion sickness
  • Floppy collection mission completely revamped - is now much more logical and interactive
  • Force Feedback will no longer be active during loading
  • New heartbeat force feedback added to crash sequence
  • Inactive chips bags will no longer play VO
  • Escape Pod objective should no longer be visible during launch sequence
  • Escape Pod objective should no longer activate prematurely
  • Post-process will no longer change when moving to the top-most airlocks
  • Floppy collection instruction added
  • Sound should now play correctly when modular wall unfolds
  • Increased visibility when repairing sensor
  • Interactable physics assets added
  • Radio stuck in sleeping compartment fixed
  • Hands visibility should now be more reliable
  • Physics object getting stuck should now be much less occuring
  • Grabbing physics assets with both hands should now work as intended
  • Player should no longer be able to bump into floppy disks, making them shoot off
  • Force feedback reduced in atmosphere level
  • Bug causing black screen to hang before atmosphere should be fixed now


Update 1.0.4.0
  • Fixed pause bug, sometimes freezing the game
  • Removed bug allowing players access to escape pod prior to intended story moment
  • Fixed bug sometimes not making chips bag open when grabbing using gamepad
  • Made expulsion scene ease-in and ease-out, which should help against motion sickness
  • Players will always end up in the same location in space after the navigation section
  • Fixed issue causing animation of wall in 'The Crib' to animate prematurely
  • Fixed bug causing certain voiceovers not to play
  • Lever for opening button compartment should now be easier to open with gamepad
  • Warning sign asset added
  • Space station exterior adjusted
  • Hands should no longer be visible when not using motion controllers
  • Flashlight should now correctly follow the camera view when using gamepad


Update 1.0.3.0
  • Audio volume should now be more comfortable
  • Audio clipping should be much less frequently occuring
  • Gamepad turn speed lowered to a more comfortable speed
  • Mipmapping of 'Escape Pod' label reduced for make it more readable on lower settings
  • Camera shake after explosion is now less intense, reducing risk of motion sickness
  • Made physical assets "brake" less, allowing them to fly further
  • Players should no longer be able to get stuck between 'The Crib's' door and wall when opening it
  • Grabbing the door handle on 'The Crib's' door should now be much easier
  • Added instructions on how to open The Crib's door
  • Made helmet HUD indicators sharper on lower graphics settings
  • Made credits screen sharper on lower graphics settings
  • Player hands should no longer turn visible in Atmosphere level
  • Optimized lighting in space station
  • Freeroam controls should now be working correctly
  • Storyline progression revised


Update 1.0.2.0
  • Disabled Auto Rotation of camera
  • General performance improvements
