Skate City takes you on a world tour as you ride through some of street skating’s most iconic spots. We'd like to take you on a trip through these, tell you a little about their history, and why we were inspired to include them in the game.

The first destination on your journey is the place where it all began. Los Angeles, which features famous skate locations such as the Carlsbad gap, Venice Beach, LA High, The Stage at Santa Monica Courthouse, and more.

As you cruise past palm trees and beachside sunsets, you’ll soak up the feel-good vibes that these sun-drenched California landmarks are known for.

LA's rich history as a skateboarding hub began as early as the 1950s when surfers in California discovered they could create smaller boards with wheels that would allow them to surf on the sidewalks. By the 1970s, one particular group of surfers, the Zephyr team, brought skateboarding to the forefront of the scene with their expressive styles and unique manoeuvres that blended what they had learned from surfing with what was possible in an urban space.

These pioneers stepped outside the comfort zone of their time, infusing skateboarding with a new style and attitude that would shape the sport’s progression for years to come.

Whether or not you grew up watching legends hit the spots represented in Skate City, you’ll feel the spirit of Los Angeles, past and present, as you roll through them in the game.

Thanks for joining us on the first stop of Skate City's world tour. We'll be back soon to guide you to the next stop.
