Für 1€ im Sale mal gekauft und nja dafür stimmt der Preis (fast).

Das Spiel hat nur 3 Level und ist auch nicht sonderlich schwer. Spiellänge dementsprechend 1h bzw mehr, wenn man alle Erfolge sammelt. Das Gameplay ist in Ordnung allerdings ist die Grafik nicht sonderlich schön. Ich mein es soll an NES Spiele erinnern aber selbst die waren zum Teil schöner.

Die größte Frechheit allerdings ist die DRM SecuRom, wie man auf die Idee kommt so ein kurzes Spiel mit diesem grauenhaften Kopierschutz auszurüsten ist außerhalb meiner Verständnis. Wer allerdings nach dem Durchspielen das Spiel ohne Probleme deinstallieren will muss unter den Communityguides nach einem Tutorial schauen.

Ich habe allerdings auch von Leuten gehört, die das Spiel gar nicht installieren konnten. Ist also alles mit Vorsicht zu genießen.

First World Problem: Die Erfolge sind zT falsch beschrieben und zählen den Fortschritt nicht im Erfolgsbildschirm mit...

Fazit: Das Spiel ist nett aber evtl. nicht sein Geld wert.

Schöne Oldschool Jump'n Run bzw. Run'n Gun Action, eindeutig besser als das Dark Void Hauptspiel.
Soll ein Prequel zu Dark Void sein, beide sind storytechnisch aber nur sehr wenig miteinander gekoppelt.

Pros:
- Klasse Retro Feeling
- Liebevolle 8-Bit Grafik
- Herausragender Chiptune Soundtrack von Bear McCreary
- Abwechslungsreiche Gegner und Waffen
- Preis (Im Sale: 99 cent) ;-)

Cons:
- relativ kurze Spieldauer
- wechselhafter Schwierigkeitsgrad
- teils unfaire Kollisionsabfrage (Lava)
- DRM (Aktivierungslimit)

I mostly enjoyed my time with Dark Void Zero. This is a retro 8-bit style game made in 2010 despite the intentionally misleading store page description. I'm not at all familiar with the game Dark Void which this is a spin-off of but that didn't matter at all. It's a short 3 level platform shooter that really reminded me of Bionic Commando with a bit of Solar Jetman, both from the NES. There's a handful of different weapons to use, although you can only carry/use one at a time, and a small variety of enemy types. The music was literally forgettable, I don't remember if it even had music, but the sound effects and graphics were fitting for era represented. The controls were sticky and took some getting used to, especially the jetpack toggle, but it's impressive that they stuck to what was possible on the NES controller where many retro games cheat and use modern controls.

Overall this is a good title for a small dose of fresh retro-like gaming and the price is fair.

This is a fun little time waster. It takes you back to the early days of gaming. the levels are a little tough though which makes it a challenging and fun game.

The DRM with the 5 machine lifetime activation limit is just unacceptable. The limit was raised to 20 but it really shouldn't have any activation limits that doesn't replenish. The game is alright but the hassle to actually play the thing isn't worth it. Replenishing activations would have been the best move but they likely figured that nobody would ever want to play this game anyway. Low activation limits says to me that even Capcom didn't think it was a very good game.

I burned 3 activations just to play it the first time. This was back when it still only had 5 lifetime activations.

DISCLAIMER: THE SECUROM PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED BY CAPCOM. THE GAME WORKS NOW.

Anyway, It's like if Mega Man had played Contra and had a jetpack sometimes. And like Mega Man, DVZ is hard. Really hard. No save functionality either. If you want a challenge, DVZ has one for you.

If any of this ticks your boxes, this is easily worth $5.

I honestly wouldn't know what this game is like because the DRM is preventing the game from launching. Checking the support forums this seems to be a far too common problem, roughly 90% of topics are people begging for help with the DRM.

AVOID! DO NOT BUY!

DO NOT BUY THIS.

SecuROM will not accept the cd-key steam provides.
Yet another example of DRM screwing over paying customers.
I consider this theft.

I'm usually ok with DRM, but in this case it's pretty much uneccessary considering how small this game really is, and it's made worse by the fact that the CD Key you're given doesn't even seem to work.
Don't buy
