Skateboarding games have been rising in popularity over recent years and between arcade-style skate games and those of the simulation genre, you might be wondering where Skate City fits in. It's obvious from its 2.5D visuals and side-scrolling perspective that Skate City is quite different. It mixes a unique perspective with real-world visuals and relaxing, quick-to-learn controls. Skate City is real-world inspired. Our levels are based on real cities, and we've taken inspiration from real-world obstacles and skate spots. We wanted the game to get as close as it could to feeling like real skating. The side-scrolling perspective is relaxing—it keeps you on-course and frees you to focus on mastering tricks and stringing together lines. And there are a SLEW of tricks to master, including flip tricks, grabs, grinds, spins, and manuals. This streamlined approach results in a game that captures the meditative feel of street skating. Skate City's focus is on recreating what street skating feels like, taking you back to the joy of bombing down the streets with your mates as a teenager, on a sunlit afternoon. We can't wait to see what you make of our unique, chill approach to crafting a skateboarding game. Head over to our Discord community and share which tricks you're looking forward to mastering: discord.gg/snowman.
