An Kampfesrausch gewinnen

After 9,2h: This game is absolute great!!!!!!! Great graphics, great unit animations, great maps, great multiplayer PBEM asynchron battles!! One of the best games out there!!!!!!
Nice unit selection and fluid play style!!

After 6h: This game is great!!!!! Much better than i thought!!! Just saw how 2 Jet Pack Units jumped across the battlefield. Looks really great!!!! Battles are really fun, and have real tactical depth! Graphic is beautifull. Nice collors!!! Gamplay is really fluid. Nice animations! Genestealers look great!!!

After 94 min:

Great Game!!!!! Feels like new generation Stategy game, feels much more fluid than Sanctus Reach. Nice graphics. Save option at any time of playing. Also most important it has PBEM!!!!!!!Free 3d cam. Also map of the battlefield....Heard it is from the devs of Battle Star Galactica, this game was also great, so this game seems to be another example, that they produce great games!!!! A really good Warhammer 40.000 game.... Would be great if more content would come, like factions etc.... but d.... Games W...... hehe :)
Persitent Battlefield/Bodies....... very important. Looks really great!!!

What i don´t like:
- no description/briefing prior to mission. u don´t even know what needs to be done until AFTER u deploy ur troops
- u get unlimited Blood Angels, if u loose a unit just get a new one
- loosing units/preserving units is of no consequence unless heros
- units don´t advance/evolve individualy, just in general through army upgrades
- game has the typical console ui-layout we have to live with these days

If those had been done right it would have been a very good WH40K game. Sadly it turned out mediocre. If u like turn based games or the table top this will surely give u some nice time.

I have no friends, moths fly out of my wallet when I open it, and when I attempt to paint little plastic models my 7 year old laughs at my grotesque results.

Therefore, I want a PC game version of tabletop 40k.

This is the closest I have come so far to realising that dream...

A great Warhammer 40K production, top notch voice acting, high quality models and unit variety with nice tabletop gameplay feel. I liked the campaign, as simple as it is, a lot and hope we see more arcs/factions in the future!

A few downsides that bugged me thorough the campaign though: your troops seem not to benefit from the same cover rules as the enemies; large tyranids seem to be missing audio files, killing one is a silent and slightly anticlimatic affair; units choice is added over the campaign but some of them arrive too late into the campaign to be viable.

Fast paced turn based strategy game. No fussing about with APM, macro-ing your base. Just gather your army and fight on a big map.
Honestly, if it were up to me, I'd have all future strategy Warhammer games have this kind of gameplay.

I would give a neutral rating if there would be such, sadly there is not. It's not a bad game per se, however, very (VERY) lackluster from many aspects.

TL;DR -> If you are a hardcore WH40k fan, then feel free to buy it, as it's well written and canon (as far as I can judge), however, as a TBS game it's very bland.

The good:

- Voice over is top notch, 2D art is very good and generally speaking the atmosphere is great!
- If you loved Incubation, then it pretty much brings you back there. Yes, I know it was a WH40k knock-off, but the mission design, the whole setup just screams Incubation to me. Which I consider as a big plus.
- The game is fairly long with lots of missions.
- Writing and characters are pretty good!

The bad:

Yeah, that list will be longer...

- Graphics is functional, map tileset variability is very limited, unit and battle animations are mediocre at best and (very) poor in most of the cases.
- Quality of life is almost non-existent. There is no movement undo, during deployment there is no tactical map (which is ridiculous, considering that you play on LARGE maps most of the time, so you have to spend like a minute or two scrolling around). No end-turn autosave. You can't reset / respec hero skills.
- Only two factions included in the base game.
- Mission design gets very repetitive and predictable. Reach a point, while endless hordes of enemies are unleashed upon you, really, you will fight against overwhelming forces all the time. After you reached that point, kill everyone. That's it.
- Needless to say, the amount of foes feels like a cheap way to hide the AI's shortcomings. Time to time things are spiced up by spawning enemies in your back because of reasons.

The only good thing about the game is graphics , every mission is the same - RUSH objective ( cause game will spawn infinite amount of enemies until you do) , after you do the main objective ( usually go to spot X , pick it up ) , then you have to kill all remaining enemies. I dont know if i am terrible at the game or what , but i constantly find myself struggling , not to mention if your hero dies - mission failed (only dreadnoughts and aggressors are somewhat decent rest of the units are kind of a mess , takes 3 squads to kill weakest enemy squad ... ).

This is like 70% of a good game. Unfortunately, in addition to the very limited objective types, every mission is marred by the fact that you're required to completely wipe out the enemy to finish, which makes the game incredibly tedious.

Fantastic! Just what you would imagine a game of 40k to sound like, with the yells and cries of boastful space marines, the weapon fire and explosions, the snarls and barks from the Tyranid swarm. The units look just like the tabletop models, you can zoom right in and would swear you had your head on the table for a model's eye view of the game. If you play and paint 40k this is a must buy.

Finally, a 40k game worth playing. Make no mistake, there's nothing new under the sun here, but the gameplay is interesting enough to keep you playing up to the last mission. The feel of the 40k universe is very well represented.

This is the real deal, the 40K game you never thought they'd make. While it's decidedly not the tabletop game (and if I'm being honest, even after having won the campaign some of the rules of this are a bit opaque), it evokes the same feel as the tabletop, despite using a modified Fields of Glory II engine.

The campaign drags a bit, and the AI spends a lot of time thinking about very little, but the combat is viscerally satisfying, especially so for a turn-based game. It's also got some legitimately decent 40K writing for a videogame, and the Death Company chirps are a WHOLE MOOD.

For my money, the best 40K video game..

It is a great game, but not sure it is worth that much... especially knowing that, for now, there is only two playable factions, Space Marines Blood Angels (well that is not Ultrasmurfs at least) and Tyranids. It is planed for the game to receive new factions from DLCs, but that would be another paywall....

That aside, that is a good tactical game that put a good accent on movements and space management (blocking, optimal distance...).

Also the game seems to focus on Primaris, so if you don't like them, well you are warned you'll hear a lot about this...

There's a good game somewhere in there, waiting to happen. A worthy turn-based brother to the glorious fun that was of DoW Uno.

But it's not there. And I doubt it will ever be. They cranked it out, and walked away. Leaving it unfinished, unpolished, unbalanced, and generic 40k-style bland. Probably left bland so as to not trigger some short-sighted dweeb at GW who oversees their streak of bad game collaboration. The 40k grist mill grinds on with another under-developed, buggy, unfleshed title for the pile.

If it was $15, I would say fine, get it and take it for what it's worth. It's not $40 good, but the real crime is that the unrealized potential is a tragedy.

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is fast dynamic turn-based strategy game set in 41st millennium. The campaign tells an interesting story about a chapter of the Blood Angels on Baal moon. Many of the Imperium chapters just got reinforced with new Primaris force and Blood Angels have to fight not only with Tyranid swarms but also with their suffer from a genetic flaw that creates mental instability called the Black Rage.

Pros:
+ Dynamic turn-based combat ( you can take any action at same time like shooting with multiple units, moving or using abilities )
+ Good campaign for around 15 hours
+ looks pretty good
+ photo mode
+ atmosphere of WH40k is here
+ music is nice but there's only few tracks

Cons:
- some melee animations looks bad like Aggressors one
- some sounds effects are meh too like some of the tyranids guns
- few times enemies shoot my units through some obstacles

Random game stats:
- Campaign have 20 missions
- 4 difficulty settings
- 2 factions: Tyranids and Blood Angels
- Blood Angells have 15 units
- Tyranids have 13 units
- In campaign you have access to two unique units of Adepta Soraritas and some heroes
- Skirmish have 9 maps

Overall rating: 8/10

battlesector is a shallow sanctus reach with higher production values and better graphics. the single player campaign has good narration and cutscenes, but the missions play very samey and the AI offers no challenge to the player. your own units are utterly expendable and freely replaceable with no restrictions on list building. there are general unit upgrades you can unlock in several skill trees with a limited resource you get by progressing the game. it becomes quite quickly obvious, that you just want to spam the highest armor units to stomp through the levels, especially because the AI has a long range unit that can one-shot infantry.

skirmish and MP have a small map pool with one of three victory settings (kill every unit and two types of claiming victory points). map sizes are generally small. the maps don't have a lot of space for maneuvering and the game tells you through the FoW the exact location and type of moving enemy units. list building is unrestricted, so it is very common to encounter spam lists, that hard-counter more diverse army compositions. unit balance is very iffy, with large part of both faction rosters being trap choices. atm the cheapest tyranid unit can melt at medium range through the toughest armor with the help of passive buffs, which puts heavy restrictions on what kind of blood angels list are playable.

every unit has skirmish rules, which means you keep your full movement even after shooting. long range kiting is mostly prohibited by the map sizes and lack of open spaces on most maps. flying / teleporting units on the other hand are very often extremely favored by map design.

compared to sanctus reach, more often than not, games are decided before deployment. there are no overlays to see LoS or weapon ranges from specific tiles [edit: the tutorial won't tell you, but you can drag with the mouse from any tile you could move to with a selected unit, to see it's overwatch pattern/weapon range depending on unit facing], you have to memorize overwatch tile pattern from enemy units and it is hard to understand what adjacent tile gives cover and what adjacent tile blocks LoS. there are no unit transports and movement range is with a few exceptions quite uniform across both factions.

Please tell me there will be more DLC's for future Races?!?!?!
2 Hours in and I love the Game! Has a Dawn of War Vibe without base building to me. I think the Units and the Scenery and locations are Top Notch! Thank You and give me More!!!!! :DWhalo:

This is the 40k game you've been waiting for. Got 400 hours in Dawn of War: Dark Crusade and wish someone would make another GOOD 40k game? Well, here it is. Be aware: This is Turn Based, and is incredibly close to the table-top game. I love everything about it!

This is my first ever Warhammer game and I was really hyped to start playing it. I'm now 3 hours in and really enjoying it. It's alot to get into when you're new, lots of mechanics that don't make too much sense yet but I'm not really a tutorial playing kinda guy so that might be me to blame there.
I like what I've seen so far in the campaign, hoping to see fun multiplayer games & modes in future.

Its a good game, rather redundant though. This would be amazing if it was highly modable, but it doesn't appear to be. You get a couple sisters of battle squads, a marine death company squad, and a few other units. Only opponents are tyranids though. Hopefully in the future we see new races and campaigns added, as it would be easy to add them.

But its good, fun, probably only worth $25 though as you only have 1 campaign and the matches are all VERY similar. Good graphics, loads fast, plays fast.

Replaces Sanctus Reach as the closest you can get to the tabletop experience.
