The gameplay in Toki Tori is a blend of two genres. While it looks like a platform game, it's a puzzle game at heart. To progress through the game, the player must pick up each egg in a level using a set number of tools. Players will have to look and plan ahead carefully while using items such as the Telewarp, Freeze-o-Matic and InstantRock?. Additional tools are gradually introduced as the player progresses through the game's 80+ levels covering four unique worlds.

Ein sehr nettes Puzzle Spielchen mit viel Content und ausgereiftem Gameplay. Hat bisher sehr viel Freude bereitet und wird sicher irgendwann unglaublich schwer, aber das ist o.k. Klare Empfehlung - nicht nur im Sale - das Game ist wirklich umfangreich :)

Toki Tori ist ein sehr anspruchvolles Spiel das sehr viel Zeit und Liebe benötigt dazu ist der Preis etwas zu hochgesetzt aber allem in einem ist es sein Geld wert :)

Yaahhh, Toki Tori :D Es klingt nicht nur süß und nach Spaß, es ist auch süß und es macht ne Menge Spaß.^^ Es ist eine Art Denk/Puzzle Spiel. Man hat eine bestimmte anzahl an Gegenständen mit denen man sich durch ein Level spielen muss und auf dem weg Eier einsammeln muss. :D Ein tolles Spiel für Groß und klein :D

Bei Toki Tori handelt es sich um ein Puzzle-Videospiel mit Jump-´n´-Run-Elementen vom Entwickler Two Tribes.
Der Spieler steuert ein kleines, gelbes Küken durch verschiedene Levels und muss seine noch im Ei befindenden Geschwister einsammeln, die auf den Ebenen verteilt sind. Um an sie heranzukommen hat man verschiedene, jedoch begrenzte Fähigkeiten. Ein Brett um eine Brücke zu bauen oder ein Staubsauger um Gegner aus dem Weg zu saugen und noch vieles mehr. Es gibt meist nur einen richtigen Weg um an alle Eier zu kommen.

Wer gerne Rätsel löst wird bei diesem Spiel voll auf seine Kosten kommen. Bei 5 Welten mit je 12 bunten Levels, auf den Schwierigkeitsgraden Leicht und Schwer. Zusätzlich gibt es pro Welt ebenfalls noch 12 Bonuslevels. Wer aber wirklich die Schweren und die Bonuslevel spielen möchte wird leider gezwungen der offiziellen Toki Tori Gruppe auf Steam beizutreten. Für Gelegenheitsrätsler können die leichten Rätsel aber schon schwer genug sein. Falls das ein oder andere Level mal nicht lösbar sein sollte, kann ein Joker benutzt werden, um dieses zu überspringen und mit dem nächsten fortzufahren. Leider steht dem Spieler nur eine solche Joker-Karte zur Verfügung und kann nur erneut benutzt werden, wenn das übersprungene Level gelöst wird.
Nicht nur beim Schwierigkeitsgrad, auch bei der Steuerung des kleinen Vogels hat der Spieler freie Wahl, entweder steuert man mit den Pfeiltasten der Tastatur um das Küken zu bewegen, mit einem Gamepad oder mit der Maus per Point and Click, je nachdem womit man lieber spielen möchte.
Falls diese 180 Levels immer noch nicht ausreichen, hat man noch einen Level-Editor, mit dem man nach einer gewissen Einarbeitungszeit, selbst Rätsel erstellen kann. Man hat alle Texturen und auch sonstige Ressourcen die in dem Spiel zusehen sind zur Verfügung. Die eigenen Levels können auch mit Freunden oder Bekannten die dieses Spiel besitzen geteilt werden.

Toki Tori, ein Denkspiel für jeden der denken in Spielen mag. Wenn man den Zwang zur Steam-Gruppe mal aus den Augen lässt, da es nur ein paar Mausklicks sind, und nur das reine Spiel betrachtet, sieht man stimmig gestaltende Welten und eine Spielemechanik die sehr einfach und verständlich gehalten ist. Jeder Rätselfreak sollte dieses Spiel mal gespielt haben, deswegen 8 von 10 möglichen Punkten.

Für mich war Toki Tori ein wirklicher Überraschungstitel. Habe dem Spiel nie wirklich Beachtung geschenkt, bis ich aus Spass die Demo gedaddelt hab. 5 Minuten später hab ich es gekauft. Es ist wirklich ein tolles Konzept, wo von der Musik bis zu der liebevollen 2D Grafik alles zusammenpasst. Aber lasst euch von dem knuffigen Design nicht täuschen - die späteren Level bringen sicherlich so einige Hirne zum schmelzen. ;)

Man könnte es am ehesten als ein Puzzle-/Denkspiel bezeichnen, ähnlich mit dem damaligen Lost Vikings. Nur dass man ein Küken steuert und auf vielerlei Hilfsmittel zur Levelbewältigung zugreift, statt auf mehrere Charaktere mit verschidenen Fähigkeiten.

Really fun old school puzzle-platformer, it's got a lot of nice mechanics to it, but the ending... What the hell were they thinkin' puttin' that stuff in such a game agh! Damn it, such jokes ain't funny.

The game is very cute but destroys you with well-crafted puzzles that demand all of your attention and creativity.

Buy it if you enjoy being stepped on by an attractive person (figuratively speaking, of course).

Fun little game, which i believe is originally designed for tablets, for short bursts in between. It feels like it is meant to get your cognitive functions going in order to solve the little levels. Nice to pass the time, but nothing that will blow you away graphics wise or in terms of very exciting game mechanics. Still a solid game if you are looking to pass a short time.

Toki Tori originally for the Gameboy Colour is a 2D puzzle game. Toki goes through various worlds to find eggs scatted all over each level to save the newborns. The player must use various, but limited assigned tools that have counters. These counters represent the number of times a player can use in that level.

This Toki Tori is the Wii version with some great features such as rewind back any number of moves. Toki Tori starts out really easy until the later worlds ramp up difficulty - which can be a bit difficult for children. OST is pretty upbeat and Toki's facial expression does have some charm. The only problem I have with Toki Tori is difficulty curve in later worlds, but other than that it's good.

In conclusion, Toki Tori is only recommend those looking for a short puzzle game that challenges the player in logic and utility. Pick this game up ON sale! It's dirt cheap and game itself is very short (5 hours roughly). As someone who enjoys puzzle games, Toki Tori's later levels really make me feel stupid. Yes this game works with the PS4 controller.

Puzzle

Pretty bland and boring, honestly. It's got a neat idea to it and I'd love to see the gameplay handled by some more competent people, but overall Toki Tori is an annoying, infuriating mess brought down by sync issues, hitbox issues and weird AI behavior that can cause you to have to constantly restart a level because something isn't behaving the way the game wants it to.

The puzzles get ridiculous in a hurry and require you to use the given tools in the precise manner the developers intended, effectively eliminating any possibility of player creativity. The worst part of the game, however, is the color scheme. When you play for 30 minutes or more and then quit the game, you will immediately notice a strange impression it has left in your eyes with its bright, neon colors as you seemingly view the world with a yellowish-green pair of glasses.

The levels don't have a enough variety and the audio/visual features become repetitive and annoying.

Toki Tori is a small indie / puzzle game developed by Two Tribes.

Gameplay / Story

In Toki Tori, your goal as a little chick is to free the other chicks that are still in the egg, who are waiting for your rescue in the individual levels. You go one after the other in a total of five different themed worlds, starting with the waterfall park and ending in a secret test laboratory. The controls are easy to remember. With the left analog stick you can control the little Toki, alternatively you can also use the control pad, which is more recommended for actions on deadly abysses. The shoulder buttons are used to select your skills and with a short press on the A button you apply them. However, if you want to get an overview of the level at the beginning, you can do this with the right analog stick. The individual levels in Toki Tori are, as already mentioned, packed with puzzles, and you can complete them thanks to your powers, with which you build bridges or teleport from one place to another. These two skills are available to you throughout the game. However, there are some that you can only use in the individual themed worlds, such as shooting with an ice cannon to turn your opponents into blocks of ice, which can then serve as a bridge. Or you use a ghost trap to scare the ghosts. As a rule, you are given how often you can use the respective skills. Occasionally, however, you may find that you can use one as often as you want.

After you have completed the first three levels, you will unlock a small number of bonus levels. This also applies to the levels in hard mode, which you unlock as soon as you have completed all twelve levels of a themed world in normal mode. The difficulty increases in that you have to look longer for the ideal path. This is often not quite obvious, as in the easy levels and therefore not recognizable at first glance.

Gameplay / Geschichte

In Toki Tori ist dein Ziel, als kleines Küken die anderen noch im Ei befindlichen Küken zu befreien, die in den einzelnen Levels gut verteilt auf eure Rettung warten. Dabei begebt ihr euch der Reihe nach in insgesamt fünf verschiedene Themenwelten, angefangen mit dem Wasserfallpark und zum Ende hin in ein geheimes Testlabor. Die Steuerung prägt man sich sehr schnell ein. Mit dem linken Analog-Stick könnt ihr den kleinen Toki steuern, alternativ könnt ihr auch das Steuerkreuz benutzen, das sich für Aktionen an tödlichen Abgründen eher empfehlen lässt. Die Schultertasten dienen zur Auswahl eurer Fähigkeiten und mit einem kurzen Drücker auf die A-Taste wendet ihr diese an. Wer sich jedoch zu Beginn erst einen Überblick über das Level verschaffen möchte, kann dies mit dem rechten Analog-Stick tun. Die einzelnen Level in Toki Tori sind, wie bereits erwähnt, mit Rätseln vollgepackt, und ihr könnt sie dank eurer Kräfte, mit denen ihr Brücken baut oder euch von einem Ort zum anderen teleportiert, absolvieren. Diese beiden Fähigkeiten stehen euch im gesamten Spiel zur Verfügung. Es gibt jedoch einige, die ihr nur in den einzelnen Themenwelten anwenden könnt, wie zum Beispiel das Schießen mit einer Eiskanone, um eure Gegner in Eisblöcke zu verwandeln, die daraufhin durchaus als Brücke dienen können. Oder ihr nutzt eine Geisterfalle, um den Gespenstern das Fürchten zu lehren. In der Regel ist euch vorgegeben, wie oft ihr die jeweiligen Fähigkeiten anwenden könnt. Ab und zu kann es jedoch vorkommen, dass ihr eine so oft benutzen könnt, wie ihr möchtet.

Nach den ersten drei Level die ihr absolviert habt, spielt ihr eine kleine Anzahl an Bonusleveln frei. Das gilt auch für die Level im schweren Modus, den ihr freispielt, sobald ihr alle zwölf Level einer Themenwelt im normalen Modus abgeschlossen habt. Die Schwierigkeit steigert sich in der Hinsicht, dass ihr den idealen Weg länger suchen müsst. Dieser ist dabei oft nicht ganz offensichtlich, wie in den einfachen Leveln und damit nicht auf den ersten Blick erkennbar.

It's a decently good game, but I have trouble recommending it to anyone who doesn't like this particular type of puzzle game. The later levels are much too hard for kids. It's too boring for adults. You really have to fall into its niche audience to enjoy it.

From the very start, my marginal utility for playing each additional level was negative.

Also, controls for the PC are horrible. You have to play this with a controller.

I liked the start of the game, but once you reach the later stages the puzzles sadly just turn into a poorly designed mess. There are far too many steps, there is no clear indication of whether you're making progress in the correct direction or not, and certain dynamics are just expected knowledge that don't properly get introduced or skill-checked.

I have to say I did enjoy the portal-themed levels and some of the bonus levels and achievements quite a bit.

It would take a while for me to describe why I dislike this game. Perhaps I will someday. In the meantime, just know that I do recommend its sequel.

My son has been playing the games since seven years. It is funny and fairly complicated. The personages are simple with nice mechanics. I would recommend this games for those parents who are looking for a first game for their children and need something toyish and challenging at the same time.
