Das Prinzip finde ich verrückterweise gar nicht mal schlecht. hab ich doch als Kind den Rasenmähern der Stadt zugeschaut wie sie städtische Grünflächen gemäht haben :). Im Prinzip einfaches Spiel: auf Rasenmäher setzen und Grünflächen abmähen.
Das Game hat allerdings noch einige Schwächen:
- fehlende Controllerunterstützung: kein Lenkrad, kein Joystick - nur Tastatur. In einem Game, in dem man auf einem lenkbaren Fahrzeug herumkurvt ist das in der heutigen Zeit ein Trauerspiel. Dies sollte DRINGENST ergänzt werden. Ich habe mir mit Joy2Key ausgeholfen, aber ist auch nicht die allertollste Lösung.
- fehlende Empfindlichkeitseinstellung: nebst fehlenden Controller kann auch für Tastaatur keinerlei Empfindlichkeit eingestellt werden. So ist es für meinen Geschmack ein sehr empfindliches fahren.
- fehlende Regelbarkeit des Gases: bin ja kein Experte was solche Rasenmäher betrifft, aber irgendwie gibt es nur Stillstand oder Vollgas. Finde ich ebenfalls nicht gut.
- die Menüführung: naja - gibt besseres, aber auch schlechteres.
FAZIT: wenn die oben genannten Punkte nachgeliefert werden würden, dann gibt es von mir ein Daumen hoch. Aber keine Lenkradunterstützung für ein Fahrzeugspiel - NEGATIV.

P.S. Es soll Menschen geben, die z.B. im Auto kein Buch lesen können, weil es ihnen mit der Zeit übel wird. Ebenso Games in Ego-Perspektiven, eben wie Ego-Shooter und dergleichen, wo man durch die Gegend läuft/rennt. Ich gehöre dazu. Daher hat es mich ein wenig überrascht, dass mir es hier ebenso ergeht. Langes Spielen ist daher unwahrscheinlich. Kommt vermutlich eben durch die nicht einstellbare Gescwindigkeit der Fahrsteuerung und weil man ab und an doch mal öfters enge Kurven fahren muss. Daher mein Tipp an eben jene Menschen mit diesem Übelkeits-Spielsyndrom (keine Ahnung ob es einen Fachausdruck gibt): verzichtet vielleicht lieber auf das Game, gerade wegen oben genannten negativen Aspekten.

Fazit nach fast 15 Stunden:

Gutes Spiel das das gut macht was es sein will. Also ein Rasenmäh Simulator.
Ein paar Stichpunkte:

Schöne Grafik mit sehr toller Optik die aber auch Ihre Leistung will:
WQHD 60 FPS mit meinen 9900K und 2080S nur in mittleren Einstellung zu ereichen!
Trotzdem sieht das Spiel aber echt gut aus.

Das was das Spiel sein will macht es gut. Physik und Funktionen in der Form passen. Allerdings fehlt mir die Langzeit Motivation. Man kann sich zwar ein großen Betrieb aufbauen. Aber mehr als 20 Stunden sehe ich in dem Spiel aufjedenfall nicht.

Gärten sind gut, realistisch und sinnvoll gestalltet. Hier fehlt aber die Abwächlung. Gärten wiederholen sich in kurzen Abständen schnell. Einige Gärten sind vom Design sehr ähnlich, vorallem Obstgärten und Reitflächen. Ein wenig Abwechslung in den Aufträgen wäre durchaus wünschenswert. Eventuell kann man Motorsensen und andere Möglichkeiten Rasen zu trimmen mit entsprechenden Aufträgen noch einfügen.

Steuerung mit dem XBox Controller macht Spaß. Nur die Deadzone passt nicht ganz. Vor allem in der Kamera ist das oft nervig da die öffters mal von alleine schwenkt!

Man kommt recht schnell vorran. Man kann sich schnell größere Maschinen leisten. Auch ein Angestellten bekommt man schnell ran. Die Preise der Gebäude würde ich mit größeren diferenzen ansätzen. Das größte Gebäude kostet kaum mehr als das kleinste.

Eigentlich ein sehr entspanntes und einfaches Spiel!
Nur ohne Controller ist es fast unspielbar, da viele Aktionen/Buttons
nicht ausgeführt oder gedrückt werden können!
Man kann nicht vom Rasenmäher absteigen.
Mir persönlich fehlen Rasenmäher zum schieben, bzw. in der Richtung
generell die Basis, dass Mods ins Spiel gebracht werden können!
Die Grastextur sieht selbst bei Landwirtschaftssimulator besser aus.

Wenn man das Geld leicht über hat und absolut Langeweile in seinem leben
kann man sich das Spiel durchaus ziehen.

An alle anderen, die 25,49€ (im Sale) /29,99€ sinds absolut nicht Wert!!
10€ is es vielleicht Wert, aber keinen Cent mehr!

So, I bought this game not really expecting much. I figured it was just another simulator game wanting to get in now with other simulators being popular. I figured I'd try it, and I'd most likely end up refunding it. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this game actually holds up. There are some good, and some bad. I enjoy the gameplay loop this game offers. It's simple, yet enough to keep me wanting to come back. You simply go from job to job, mowing lawns, and avoiding the flowers. You earn money, then spend it on upgrading equipment, hiring employees, and upgrading your garage. This gameplay loop is very similar to other simulator games, so nothing too shocking there. The mowers do actually handle like real mowers, at least the couple I've used. Stopping very quick without any throttle applied, and getting up to speed quick. The sound design I feel could use some work, as sometimes it's not the best. It's not bad either, just needs some improvement to be on the level of the likes of ETS2. I'm not a big fan of having the mowers condition constantly on screen, but I am a fan of minimal UI in simulators, so others may not mind this as much, I'm also not the biggest fan of the time bonus stuff. I feel this system could be traded out for a skill tree instead. Being timed for cleaning the yard/lawn, and then the time bonus for mowing faster just isn't for me, and I think a skill tree would make the game just that little bit more fun for me. Overall though, this is a solid game. If you're on the fence about it, I would recommend giving the game a go. It's a relaxing game, with something to make you actually want to play the game.

This should be an easy recommendation, but these missing features leave me regretting my purchase:
1. NO MID-GAVE SAVE - you have to finish mowing each lawn in one sitting;
2. NO AUTO ACCELERATOR - get hand cramp from balancing Right Trigger between full power and no power.
Those criticisms aside, it's a really nice game, and I'll change my review to positive if/when those issues are addressed.

It’s very similar to PowerWash Simulator although with a different theme. It’s very relaxing game, to a point you’d watch a movie or series on the other monitor.

The game although does not run smooth there needs to be done some optimization, also the long grass looks way better then the cut one, so it feels more like your ruining the lawn by cutting it.
That said the equipment does look good and there are decent amount of lawnmowers they all do feel and operate diffrently.

Overall it’s and alright game I'd rate it a 6.5/10
So wait for sale.

I found in this game a way to heal the pain of the loss of my house with a beautiful lawn back in 2020. The joy of mowing the lawn is the same virtually as in real life. For some, these simulators are pure madness, but for many is a sort of therapy.

Now, the game is awesome, specially when playing it with a joystick. The graphics are descent and the work their audio designer did is epic.
I'd like to see this game bringing in a multiplayer mode and a sort of open-world to allow us to drive from our HQ to the costumers and so on.

The transparency of the studio is also a big plus.

Game is fun, but be weary of your save file. Myself and numerous other people in the forums have had their save game go missing. I lost 16 hours of progress so I think my lawn cutting days are done.

If dev can help me get my save back I will go back and update this review.

Hi Prospective Weed cutters,

It is a privilege to announce to you guys that i resisted and bought this game at 50% price???? and not at full absurd price when it was released. I could have waited longer for 70-90% offf though, but thought it's fine i should get it.

So far i have reached level 4 and have annoyed few lawn owners ????

Biggest Cons:

1. They charge a lot for destroyed flowers in game ????
2. This has inspired me to buy Grass cutter in real life and start earning money cutting grass, problem is i am in India and
they would not even give a $ for the whole stadium. ????????

Conclusion:

why would i hire employees in this game...i paid so much money for this game..Every darn strand of grass belongs to me ????..why would i let employees enjoy the grass cutting ????

Many folks are comparing this to farm sim 19,22. It should not be !!..farm sim is too complex and difficult, you need to know equipment, farming techniques and more. i am not a native English speaker so i don't even know many terms so i would struggle.

Games or sim like this and power wash sim is all about doing mindless mind numbing thing when you want to do something mindlessly but don't know what to do.

When you play sims like these you go in meditative state, your brain cells go numb, constant blabber of your mind, your teacher's folks' wife's banter all dissolves and you just go deep inside you.

After 300 hours in games like this..
you start to discover and ask questions like who you are, your purpose in life. you realize all the nonsense around is garbage and meaningless.

After 500 hours:
Rat race ..corporate jobs, interviews..lies..fake pretending people and lives don't matter anymore.

After 700 hours:
You realize you are immortal and will leave to another world anyways. You start contemplating on unworldly desires..your mind , heart activity decreases. Thoughts become more streamlined.

After 1000 hours:
You are on the brink of attaining Nirvana..becoming Buddha..epitome of salvation. BUT BUT BUT....

Then another developer releases another sim. Your material desires rise again.. you drool for a new game... you look for wallet or left over money in bank to get that next sim, purchase alike. you loose all your mind progress and start again..alas this cycle continues till we loose these bodies..and go to heaven and looks for a game parlour in clouds..chao..enough story bbyeee????

I love the idea behind this game but the execution in my opinion is poor. some of the jobs require fairly precise mowing that you just cant quite achieve with the current steering mechanics. I didn't see any other complaints about the camera control in the game but that is the reason I requested a refund. No matter how much I messed with the camera settings it always felt weird and uncomfortable to try and position the camera as I mowed. I actually started to get motion sick only 15 minutes into the game. For these reasons I wouldn't recommend the game in it's current state. $30 is quite quite high for what you get as well.

Not sure how this game gets the ratings it does. I want to compare to farm sim 19. In farm sim you can drive dozens of different vehicles, you can plow, cultivate, seed, fertilize, harvest, and sell crops. You can raise cattle, pigs, sheep, and chickens. And because you have to provide feed for these animals you can mow grass. But not just mow it, you then use a teddar, a windrake and a baler to get the cut grass to your animals. You have a purpose for mowing the grass. In this game you mow grass and get paid a low salary. Thats it! And you pay more for this game for the ability to do one thing vs many. I understand that the point is to focus on one type sim. But you have to make it interesting. Why put a timer on a job? Why even mow in the rain? Why is it that the game is lacking and instead of adding more content you jump right to another costly DLC. Starting out it takes about 30 minutes per job. The only thing that changed in the first 2 hours was the locations. But the yards are basically the same. Trees, flowers, fountains and paths. By the time I made it to the 5th job my refund timer was up and job 5 was a yard I had already mowed before so it was borrrrring. The game needs a lot more content. But more can you do for a lawncare game?

It's about what I expected.... addictive, nice graphics, good game-play; however what I wasn't anticipating is how long the levels run me so far! It's likely because I spent my money in all the wrong places, am still using the mower I started out with (that's a HUGE mistake) and so on... here's what I typically see for a typical level:
Estimated time: 35 minutes
My time: 129 minutes.... and you can't save mid-level... had steam crash while taking a break from mowing and it closed out my game causing me to lose about an hour of work... so I don't suggest minimizing the game and doing anything else within Steam!
Totally worth the price imo; I'm not bored yet!

Ive had this game since release and its just incredible what these devs priorities are...
-First, they put out an overpriced game lacking the content to make it anywhere near 30 dollars.
-Then, it has a literally game breaking bug for almost a month straight. (Cant mow in a mowing simulator... dafuq?)
-They come up with a fix in a patch and then DELAY the patch date for like a week, mind you people have this game and still cant play it even though there's literally a patch to fix it.
-Then they slap everybody in the face coming out with a 9 dollar DLC when their game could easily have used the content for free to show some sense of empathy and caring about the customer showing they actually give a crap about them.
-BASICALLY, IF YOU WANT TO MOW AND DO MUCH MUCH MORE, SPEND THE MONEY ON FARMING SIMULATOR 22. you wont be mad at that game

Game was enjoyable at first... Then an update was made, which made the game unplayable. The Devs did not address it for ages, and were silent. If you want a game that is backed by their developers and listens to their customers, then this is NOT that game. DO NOT BUY

Ok, this review is from an actual landscaper. I'm an owner/operator for a landscaping company I started in 2008. I have actually operated some of these tractor mowers for real. So here's my take on this.

-This game is basically the most realistic simulated mowing experience you can have in a video game. The way the mowers bog down when going through thick grass is awesome! You have to slow the mower just like in real life!
-Damage is on point too. Running over flowers, yup that happens for real when mowing. Bumping into objects that cause damage to your mower, yup again on point.
-Garbage picks, oh man this is how I start a job for real with my company.
-Employees that call in sick or go on vacation unexpected. This is all stuff a landscaping company deals with all the time.
-Equipment maintenance. Keep your mowers in top condition and cuts will go much smoother. Is this a sim or is it real? Hmmm?

I am very happy with how the game works, but it definitely could use a few improvements. The devs seem to have a roadmap laid out that will bring in string trimmers and backpack blowers. I'm looking forward to these additions as they should bring in a variety of new jobs. Leaf cleanups I hope!
One feature that I hope will be introduced later is possibly being able to drive to the job site. As this is a big part of a landscapers day. Travelling back and forth from job site to the shop would be greatly welcomed.

So in conclusion, if you are a landscaper this game is pretty satisfying. As a casual gamer who's looking for excitement. Prob not so much. This is a simulation of running a lawn cutting business. In real life it can be very repetitive, much like this game.

P.S. Get the SCAG Turf Tiger II mower.

Just mowed the first lawn and it hits all the right buttons. Also people complaining that it's too slow clearly either never mowed an actual lawn before. Additionally if you think 20 to 30 minutes to cut a lawn is too long then try doing a 3,000 Kilometer job in Euro Truck Simulator 2, that's easily 2 to 3 hours you're going to spend driving in game for one job. This is a simulator and it's one of those games that you'll know if you have the patience or drive for it before you even buy it, so if time sinking simulators aren't your thing then don't get this. I haven't had the privilege of mowing a lawn in almost 15 years because home ownership is pretty tough to get these days, I never thought I'd envy 14 year old me getting to mow the lawn every weekend. If you just want to mow a lawn and you don't have a lawn of your own to mow or the ability to get paid for mowing other people's lawns then this is the game for you.

tbh not as relaxing as i expected it to be but it is satifsying to play so i would still recommend it to others if they like to play games like these but i would wait for when it goes on sale to buy bcuz i dont think the price tag is worth it for this simple game!!!

No push mowers, no weed eaters, no grass juice flying out the mower chute, no grass sticking to the wheels, no mourning doves in the ambience, no even GETTING OFF THE MOWER... This is literally the bare minimum of the satisfying lawn mowing experience.

I don't know what I quite expected from this game but I own a small lawn maintenance company. First thing I did was grind to get a scag to test out the striping mechanics and I was very let down.
Also nothing made by scag is going to bog down at full rpms and full speed cutting 3 or 4 inches of dry grass. I should know, I own one.
And to top it off why are we cutting grass at 2.5 inches??? are we $20 lawn guys? A Cool season lawn should be cut at 3.5 inches minimum. They look great at 4-4.5.
overall I give it a 3/10 for effort

I really wanted to like this game but I am 100% sure that none of the developers mow their own lawns or even researched how they work or how the business.

-Grass should be harder to cut in the rain

-Going too fast when cutting tall grass does not ruin an engine to that extent it just bawgs the rpms

-why are we only using riding mowers? Where are the weed eaters or push mowers or edgers?

-Why the heck did they not add a speed cruise control or speed lock? Almost every mower has one. They are making us play inch warm with the speed.

-rpms should change based off the intensity of the cut, it always stays the same in game. what is even the point of changing the rpms if you cant even do anything without being on full throttle?

-the cut grass looks terrible, its not even satisfying to cut

This is not a simulator game, its a mowing arcade game that you would see free on a mobile platform.
