Behind closed doors at this year's GDC, we revealed a peek into the engine behind Crimson Desert - Pearl Abyss’ in-house BlackSpace Engine. Here are just a few of the details the engine makes possible in-game to breathe life into the land of Pywel!

Watch those details come to life. Seeing is believing as they say.

Immersive Details Both Big and Small

Shallow Water Feature
Code The BlackSpace Engine steps up the realism in water flow and tides by simulating collision with the environment through the Shallow Water feature.

Volumetric Fog with Fluid Simulation
Code Volumetric fog with fluid simulation adds an eerie touch to this environment as the fog reacts to every step, hop, and roll.

Timelapse (Atmospheric Scattering)
Code Good morning, afternoon, evening, and night! The day and night cycle running in tune with real-time lighting and detailed atmospheric scattering brings another layer of realism to the world.

GPU-based Cloth and Hair Simulation
Code Any way the wind blows, cloth and hair will flutter and sway in a natural and familiar way.

Raytracing
Code The engine's real-time lighting calculations enable realistic looking surroundings with Raytracing off but enhance your surroundings even further with Raytracing on.
