The game is very accurate detailed and with excellent graphic but, instead of being relaxing and pleasant after a very short time the frustration curve goes to the maximum.

-You have very little money that does not allow you to buy enough weapons or ammunition
-In the mission briefs is not mentioned the number of enemies even hypothetical so you bring 2 magazines of 6 ammunition and then you realize that you have to shoot more than 100 enemies that come out from everywhere.
-The enemies are too many for each mission, more than 60
-Often for side missions it is not well explained what to do with the objects you encounter, so you do not know whether to charge a TV or not and in case what is it for
-Each mission has a maximum of 3 saves, the maps are huge and nothing is delimited, neither objective buildings nor a sort of path to do or at least in which part to go, there are only enemies that come to fleets of 20
-When put yourself in full coverage, the AI hits you, what are you in coverage to do?

It's a shame because it could be an excellent game but all this kills relaxation, mission planning and is super frustrating during gameplay, already after two missions you want to start the third to face another 100 enemies with 4 bullets and 2 guns.

If there were more details about the enemies, fewer enemies in the missions would surely be playable and enjoyable.

After 2hour on mission 3, I need to throw it due to a bug. A enemy suffering on the ground having an infinite turn.

This bug is at least known for more than a year !

=> basicly you buy a game and you can't finish it unless you know the bugger parted and work around them.

Game has some nice mechanics where you have a choice to kill enemies (negative consequences) or arrest them (positive consequences). The deal breaker for me is the static camera. You can't spin it with Q and E as you do with normal turn based tactics games. You also can't zoom in or out. This makes it difficult to tell which position of cover is better in certain situations. I experienced this straightaway in the opening bank mission. Serious deal breaker.

I can't recommend especially at full price. Too many games in the same genre that are better.

Stealth is inconsistent and game has to cheat to win. Getting shot from a guy with a revolver through two walls 100 yards away is not fun gameplay. Missions are way to slow and boring to want to try again.

- Bad UI, obviously intended for touchscreens. Everything is done with LMB, and you often need to hold down a button before you can choose an action
- However, movement is with simple LMB click, and it's really easy to miss an enemy and move next to him instead of chosing an action against the enemy
- Learning curve is extremely steep. In the first mission you control 3 cops, and 90% of the mission you can make only one action you were told to do. You have the freedom in taking down only the last two enemies. But in the second mission you control 6 cops, and the map and the number of enemies is significantly higher
- Moreover, you have a limited budget for equipment, but the shop has a lot of different items. And since you just started playing, you have no idea what is more useful
- The game heavily relies on stealth approach, but doesn't tell you anything about enemy movement, hearing, cones of vision, etc. So you always have to guess whether it's safe to move. And if only one of your cops gets noticed, that means an immediate alarm (which is equal to game over in most missions)
- No autosave between turns, and overall the numer of saves is limited (you can turn this off, but still no
autosave)
- Excruciatingly slow animations (taking a turn with all 6 cops takes ages) makes the game even worse

Overall, if you want a good stealth TBS, play Invisible Inc. If you want a good shooter TBS, play XCOM, obviously.

Limited saves. Purchase items before you know the mission. Get seen, and the mission may as well be over.
Did you save last turn? Lucky... Too often you are going back and redoing 20 mins because you don't want to 'waste a save'. Could be a good tactical game, but it's just to cumbersome and tedious now.

I wish I could recommend this, but unfortunately it's a half-baked spin off to a much better game.
---

Functionally this is supposed to be a side story for This is the Police, but it really has very little to do with it other than being in the same art style. The game play is a stripped down version of the tactical layer from This is the Police 2.

This is the Police was a well written story with a game that focused on strategy. The follow up This is the Police 2 was a stretch to carry on the story that made a few mistakes, but was still worth playing. One of the mistakes was trying to shoehorn in a very simple tactics layer to a game that was previously focused on strategic response.

This game ditches most of what made those games good and expands on the tactics layer in size but without really improving the quality, it just feels like it's missing a lot. For the price it is functional and if you actually did like the tactics layer and don't care about the story, you might enjoy this.

But for me, it's going really slow and the amount of wait time to get anything done gives you a lot of time to really think about the details. The problem is most of the details kind of suck.

The previous two games that inspire this were story heavy, but in a good way. This has a terrible slog of a story that falls apart if you really examine what's going on. You're rebel cops, so where are you taking the bad guys you arrest? You don't have a jail, the local authority is all corrupt. It just goes downhill from there. You and your tiny band of rebels working out of a log cabin in the woods eating dried apples… it goes on into wonderland like this for some time.

Map layouts are also nonsensical. Why is a bank full of regular windows? Like you can just open a window and walk into the managers office where the main vault is wide open, or enter through any other wall you want and move between office rooms that all have open windows. Have these map designers never seen a bank?

Combat is a goofy mixture of options. Standard approach the bad guys using cover and then wait for your turn, then just walk up and select how you want to win. Smack him in the face with a club, use a stun gun or just order them to surrender, if you are close enough you take them into custody. It wants to be Xcom, but it lacks any depth or sense. It was a let down as an addition to This is the Police 2, it doesn't improve by making the spin off focused around it. And it makes even less sense here when you have nowhere to jail the criminals you take into custody, since you aren't the actual police and have no authority to do what you are doing and no jail to take them to.

Maybe I wouldn't notice the poor story and map designs if the gameplay wasn't so slow, but you have so much wait time to contemplate the overall package that I just find myself putting holes in all of it.

If you're getting it cheap and just want to support the franchise, that's your choice. But I can't be bothered to recommend it, despite having enjoyed the previous two games.
---

Bottom line: a lackluster spin-off to a story heavy franchise that forgot to bother bringing the story and skipped the strategy layer that made the previous two games enjoyable.

A good concept wrapped up in a lot of small failures.

The core is solid, an xcom like with some variations on the cop theme. Meta game seems decent with side missions and upgrading/equiping your merry band. Story is fine.

Where things go haywire is when you need to save, load, or really anything managing your games. The second time I lost an entire day of progress because of an incredibly poorly designed save/load system, I just looked over the mission I'd be forced to replay, realized I didn't want to, and uninstalled.

A shame really. Almost a decent indie, just not worth fighting for.

This game is currently in the Humble Choice for January 2021. If you are interested in the game and it's before February 1st, 2022, consider picking up the game as part of the current monthly bundle.

XCOM with cops… not normal cops but rebel cops.

Rebel Cops is an interesting twist on the typical tactical game. Players play as rogue cops fighting against a corrupt city and trying to take out bad guys, usually, players are outnumbered, underfunded, and relatively weak. So rather than slugging it out, Rebel Cops seems to focus a lot on stealth and works well there. However much of the game is still heavy percentage-based gameplay.

While this game is a vast improvement on This is the Police or its sequel, it does have issues where the stealth is a mixture of systems that aren’t the most informative. Not knowing what an enemy can see, and lacking many attacks that are guaranteed will likely upset some people. Limited saves will upset others, though players can turn on unlimited saves, and the gameplay feels ok but not amazing.

Pick this up if you like turn-based tactical games. Having to work your way through rooms and areas works well here, but there are reports of difficulty spikes, and if this game gets difficult it’s also going to get very frustrating quickly. Especially because one bad roll could tank a mission playthrough that was successful up to that point.

Recommended for fans of squad turn-based tactics, definitely if you enjoy a lite XCOM or This is the Police - it is basically the 'Chimera Squad' version focusing on battles.

+Art style, environments
+Music
+Turn-based tactical battles
+Variety of actions and items
+Choose from perks on levelup
+Good variety of missions
+Some voiced lines in battle

-Character models
-Barebones options menu
-Unnecessary profanity
-Clunky contextual actions
-Most dialogue is not voiced
-Story is just wall text
-Slow animations and pacing, even with 'speed' key

Seriously? You limit the amount of times the game can be saved?! What the fuck is this?

And then you don't even add vision cones to enemies, so you have no idea who can and who can't see you?
Enemies react when you move up to them, reducing your chance to arrest them, although this is how you portray it in the tutorial.

Nah, I'm not wasting my time on this ...

There is a bug. So, in some levels there are those tough guys that require two strikes to go down. If you strike them twice, and load the save that goes before you strike them, they will take only one before go down.
I like previous games better. Obviously the developers think that ninja skill is too overpowered, but as long as I have that robinhood and patience, it is just as good.
Not very engaging in terms of gameplay compared to the previous games. There were not enough songs to keep me interested.

-infiltration + don't kill = doesn't seem to be a good genre for turn-based tactical, at least not my type
-for some reason, if the effect/particules are activated it push my setup (i7 + rtx3060) at 100%, for such a simple game, it doesn't seem optimized

it's a good turn based game with an interesting premise of fighting a crime boss with an undermanned and under supplied police force. Stealth and non-lethal is possible, but so is going in and asking every suspect if they want to make your day. It's X-com with a cops, and instead of aliens, you're beating some civs pushed into working for some mob boss with a baton. If you liked This is the Police 2, this is more or less a continuation of the tactical combat. Dark humor and interesting maps make for good fun. It is unfortunately very light on story, but it is still very fun. One of the early maps is absurdly large and you'll easily spend two hours on this mission alone. But overall I think this is a worthy addition to the turn-based tactical genre.

I bought this game for less than $4 on sale and I got that much out of it so far.

It kind of makes me want to play the XCOM series since IMO it doesn't bring much new to the table. Here, you must approach enemies and knock them out, arrest them, or stab them. That's the whole game. When the shooting starts, your stealth advantage evaporates and you should probably use the built-in savescum.

The graphics, interface, music all are great. I don't love the game, but it is worth picking up on sale for a few hours of fun.

Skip it unless you REALLY want a XCOM like SWAT game. It's a great combat system but it feels like the combat porttion of TITP3. It has zero replay value and investigations are gone. It's brutally difficult, but i don't feel like I'm being challenged when I play it, but rather pigeon holed. I hope that it leads to a polished tactics system for TITP3, but as a standalone game XCOM does it better.

Good story doesn't quite make up for the tedious gameplay. Annoying to gear up before every mission (no auto assign), no map within mission so it's hard to tell where you are in relation to any priority targets or loot. You have to hold down a key (V) to keep game speed up vs a toggle type of option. Just generally not well thought out.

Thumbs down and not recommended. REBEL COPS the third game in the THIS IS THE POLICE universe, but with only the turn-based combat. Unfortunately it's another swing and a miss for me. I usually love turn-based strategy, but this was just not executed well. Gameplay is extremely repetitive (sneak, stun, arrest, repeat), due to brutal consequences of doing anything different. Maps are many, many (many!) times too large, just careless. Narrative is lacking and uninspired. Seems mobile-oriented, only good enough to waste time. Superb artwork and visuals once again, congrats to the artists, at least. Probably my final WEAPPY game. My rating for REBEL COPS: 2 out of 5.

key bindings are terrible and you can't change them. For example, F is to end the turn which is right next to D that moves the map?? You also can't rotate a map view?
UI is not great either: No way to select a suspect besides clicking on a very small space where they stand, which - if you miss - could accidentally move your unit..what?
Cops will also leave you without saying why if your Street Cred drops, they'll just disappear.
You can't reload from the base if you forget to equip your guys with an item. Game mechanics will always favor stealth for brute force which decreases the depth of strategy you can use...and the list goes on.
With all that combined it takes forever to finish one mission and even longer if you choose to accept optional objectives.
Such a shame, because I am a big fan of This Is The Police. And this game's idea is decent but the execution was absolutely careless.

I am only a few hours in at the time of writing, but I am already sold on the quality of this game. I did not enjoy the tactical missions in TITP2, but I am actually a massive fan of this game already.

Rebel Cops discarded the elements I disliked about the tactical combat in TITP2 and improved on the good elements tremendously. For one, since the entire game is tactical combat, it does not feel like it breaks up the flow of gameplay like it did in TITP2. Additionally, the ability to choose the inventory/loadout of the cops prior to the mission is stellar. Admittedly, I would probably not have bought or played this if it weren't for the continuation of the universe and themes present in the franchise. If you are looking for a game with excellent tactical combat, I'd recommend Desparados 3, XCOM 2, or Xenonauts. This game would not make an earth-shattering standalone, but it DOES make for an absolutely phenomenal spin-off game.

I'm fairly certain that this is what tactical missions will look like in TITP3 if it releases, and that is very much a good thing. It is important to note that each mission in this game can range from 40 minutes to several hours, but you can save during the missions. The ability to save in the missions and reload to those saves freely without consequence is one thing that was missing from TITP2's tactical missions, and something that made them very frustrating. Especially on missions where breaking stealth was an auto-loss.

In conclusion: Pick up this game if you enjoy the universe of the franchise and have played TITP1 and 2. If not, I would still recommend the game as it is genuinely fun, but I would advise you play one of the aforementioned games instead, as those are more fleshed out tactical games.

After 18 hours I have finally finished this game. After TITP 2, I've become a pretty much of a fun of XCOM-ish type of games. Tactical missions were the best aspect of this game imo. Therefore Rebel Cops gained my attention, as the latter-mentioned tactical missions are the main gameplay. To begin with best aspects of this game, I have to boast about soundtrack. It gave me so much vibe and make me feel this game. An overwhelmingly corrupt city of Ripton, taken over by mafia and drug dealers, who are to be arrested or deceased by group of once loyal Officers. I really enjoy its gameplay, mechanics and missions. This game - on the contrary of TITP series - is very hard (especially the 4th mission). The missions lasts sometimes for one to two hours. And here downsides begins. You ought to be quiet and undercover throughout every mission from begging to end. You can ofc start massive shooting, but ending it up without any causilties on your side is nowhere near being easy. The game sometimes has some kind of bugs, for example: Cops are shot though standing behind full cover. Or they are seen by enemy though being under full cover. The surface on which you can expand your cops' abilities and traits is pretty limited - the abilities are very useful throughout the game, but you can get all of the traits in half of the game tbh. Nevertheless, I am proud of putting those hours into this game, because I had a great time. If you like the XCOM-ish games, you should give this game a try.

BEST ASPECTS OF THE GAME:
- The whole soundtrack,
- Diversity of mission-accomplishing ways,
- All abilities you got, come in handy,
- Graphics are amazing imo,
- The plot

DOWNSIDES OF THE GAME:
- Unbalance of enemies' angle of sight,
- Sometimes overrly long and time-requiring missions (one of them took me 4 hours),
- The untold need to stay undercover. As I said earlier - If you already started one, it is hardly for you to win it, without any casulties,

Music: 9/10
Graphics: 8,5/10
Plot: 8,5/10
Mechanics: 8/10

Eventual Rating: 8,5/10

The Developers of This is The Police franchise is one of the recent favourite developers in my mind right now and what else can I say?

it is a really good game when it comes to strategy. Many would call it a XCOM like gameplay (which is true in a way), but it gets the theme, genres, feel just right. From providing 3 types of difficulty and a storyline , this game is a rather interesting and each level gets time consuming due to the large maps in the game. From variety of tactics from market point of view to the battlefield, it has it all, it will make you think a lot as to how to equip your men to said operations as well as handling resources and money making part of things. Overall, it's a game I would recommend to purchase with a bundle pack of This Is The Police to understand the references of some storylines and some other operations.

If you think that this is a $ 10 game, then my friend you are wrong. This is not not an INDI game by all means, regardless of its small Budget. As well, if you have come here expecting a BBB game, then you are wrong again my friend. This a $ 30 AAA game. The music, art, and game play are all quality.
One of the best turn based games I have ever played. I really felt like an honest cop in the land of corrupt cops

Tutorial is not enough and there is no room for trial and error. You are making decisions that have consequences to your manpower and inventory without knowing all the possibilities. And as you're guessing if it's the right move or not, huge luck factor of the game messes with you. I understand the characters are undersupplied but they should emphasize this is mainly a stealth game. Some maps are huge and there are way too many enemies that you are not aware of so don't even think of raising the alarm. Oh also don't bother with the items. They are only there to be sold at the end of the level for a little money and some of them require you to bring them back to the beginning of the map with one of your characters. I couldn't figure out if there is a looting system. If there is one that might explain my misery and prove the lack of tutorial, otherwise I think it is a missed opportunity.

Time consuming, slow paced, anticlimactic. 4/10

This game is very flawed, but I think it's still worth a playthrough. Now, I haven't played TITP 1 or 2, but I have played games with similar gameplay like Invisible Inc and the Shadowrun series. This game is decently polished, but the available settings are quite basic. The gameplay is not amazing, but I didn't find it nearly as tedious as some reviews made me expect, more on that in a moment. While the story is not as robust as in some games, I felt it was enough to set up the tone, mood, and themes of the game which seamlessly were continued in the gameplay. The explorations of theme and mood are why this game is worth playing. This game doesn't touch explicitly on any of the contemporary issues that have arisen around policing, but the game absolutely invites the player to think about the core of policing. It sets up a situation where a town is in need of a big change for the positive, i.e. ousting an autocrat, and presents policing as the tool you have available to fix things. The gameplay really does serve to further this feeling of being in an uncertain situation. Even the limited saves system is in service to this theme (even though I recommend turning on infinite saves). The experience as a whole I found realistic enough to really make me think, which is why I believe the game is worth picking up.

PS: If you'll permit me a highly personal/politically controversial opinion, it's in the spoilers text.
I am part of a group with whom police have a very mixed record. This game, more than any other argument or discussion, let me try to think of the police in the best possible light, and give them the best chance at being the best they could be--that is, truly protecting, serving, and being part of the community without racial and other issues at stake. I found the institution of police wanting in this best-case scenario, and that's going to stick with me.
Too slow and the core gameplay feels grindy instead of fun. Characters move and act too slowly, turns take too long, and the missions are too long. I had 135 arrests in the mansion mission. 135 enemies that I snuck up on (still don't know how enemy detection works) at snail-speed. Aside from a few tricky locations, it wasn't even hard. And a false step could end it all for you. I mean, you really can't afford that your cops get killed. Strategy is a bit flat, I would have like to see a better variety of items/perks for this genre.

Overall not a bad game, just slow, and it's just not fun to me. The level builders should have focused on the challenging parts of the map and skipped out on 100 of the 135 enemies...

good game with potential ruined by massive amount of RNG. 2-3 blocks range can still end up with a miss shot. Feels like everything is rigged and the movement blocks are very unclear. For instance, you have no idea where the AI can move to or where you can move to. It seems like the movement boxes are all randomized.
5.5/10
5.5 for the art style and gameplay. The rest doesn't feel right, too much RNG and less strategy

In my opinion it is far better than any other this is the police game that being said I haven't finished it but it's great so far. It's also way harder and there are more things at play like people that will shoot on sight but you can't kill and I also love the new system where you can shoot someone in the hand and they can't shoot or leg and can't walk but I do wish they didn't bleed out so fast especially when shooting in leg or hand because most of the time it would take a while to bleed out. Sometimes thing seem unfair but it's about strategy.

A really beautiful game set in the universe of This is the Police, the gameplay differs a bit from this one, it's more a turn based stategic game, and even if it's not as deep as games like Xcom it's still a lot of fun so, I definitely highly reccomend it

This a turn-based tactical game with resource management mechanics. It looks like developers wanted to follow a more populistic way after This is the Police. There isn’t any strong aspect of This is the Police franchise unfortunately. There isn’t a real story, soundtrack is repetitive, tactical combat is limited, levelling is weak and resource management is just there to be there.
First of all, the story, it is overtly not the main aspect of the game. It is just there, because it needs to be. It is for providing a concept but even with that it is bad. You are in a really small town with a huge crime ring. There are hundreds of people in this mob weirdly.
You can’t grasp why are you working with a known dirty cop, even though you have an evidence against him. However, Warren Nash helps you until the end.
Secondly, repetition. There isn’t any variety in soundtrack and there aren’t many tracks either. Unfortunately, biggest negative part about the game is limited and repetitive gameplay. Every mechanical aspect of the game is stretched. There are only two different types of enemies, less than ten skills and three attributes. Because of these limited gameplay features, you can’t do anything different playing the game. Other than that, there is a resource management part of the game which feels forced. As a vigilante you shouldn’t have a budget and an arsenal to fight to crime, I agree with that part but while you can loot the missions for TVs, PCs or video cassettes you can’t loot the criminals for their weapons or ammo. That is just plain non-sense. Stealth isn’t such a good option either. It doesn’t reward the player catching criminals instead of killing them – there is the advantage of not using the ammo though – and shooting strategy is easier (thanks to charging AI).
On the bright side, there is some variety for the missions and there isn’t much games in this category. So, if you like games likes XCOM or UFO series which don’t have a strong story you may like this game. Plus, there wasn’t any bug and the price is pretty reasonable.

good game, only a negative by a small margine, i will infact still play it. IF you liked any of the other games but wanted more of a focus on the tactical component, you will like this. the big mansion boss mission early in the game is damn hard, like hours upon hours hard. If you raise the alarm in this mission its game, so you have to do the whole thing perfectly. but my biggest gripe is the save/load system. this seems to be the only game where you cant seem to overwrite your old save file during play, save and load arent seperate menus, its combined but when you select an old save game you can only load. I have loaded an old save ruining my progress at least 7 times now, i realise this is my own fault and not that of the games, however i feel its an easy fix when every other game lets you overwrite save files or has save and load as seperate menus fixing the confusion. I keep playing this game only to rage quit on the same mission due to this save/load combo system.

I want to move forward but the missions difficulty coupled with its strange save/load system prevents me, my negative review is more of a personal thing, the game is worth the money if your not an idiot like me.

I really WANT to like this game. On the surface it fits all my criteria: turn based, squad mechanics, limited resources, permanent death, choice matters, lots of ways to accomplish a mission, etc. But in this case I can not recommend this game due to one issue, the vision lines on the enemies. I have played quite a few games like this, and a hell of a lot of stealth hours into Metal Gear, Horizon Zero Dawn, Sekiro, but also X-Com, Ninja )cont remember full name), etc. and yet I STILL cant get this down. Sometimes my characters are hiding just fine behind a half wall, others they are spotted from a mile out by a guy a walk from the other side of said wall. Its such that I honestly don't think I will continue to play this despite enjoying almost everything else about it. That issue is so broken that I just cant recommend, unless you like to be punished.

In short:
The challenge of this game is unfair and makes for boring gameplay. A single wrong move can result in multiple dead cops, your cover blown, and hours of gameplay down the drain. It's telling that the difficulty settings change how many times you can save, instead of making the game harder or easier.

In long:
The gameplay here matches the narrative in ways that just make it painful and unforgiving. I guess it makes sense that you can die from one bullet, that it's really hard to do stealth and that you can ruin an operation in one wrong move, that you're woefully underequipped to the point of not having a revolver for every cop, etc. That all just makes the game less fun.
At the same time, once your cops are leveled up and have decent equipment, the game's difficulty seems to come from putting you in situations you can't avoid (sudden alarm, loss of cop/equipment, and a REALLY unfair boss battle where you get sniped from your starting position).
In regards to the narrative- you're commanding a group of about 12 guerilla rebels who defected from the police force of Ripton after it was taken over by Victor Zuev, a communist who turned into the head of a a small criminal empire.
You go on these missions where you go after his lieutenants (and other stuff I won't spoil). The townsfolk ask you to bring back stolen goods/information/people in return for equipment and street cred.
You're generally portrayed as a superhero, apprehending dozens of suspects at a time and singlehandedly saving the town. Townfolk will be pretty happy with you as long as you give them your cut of the loot and accomplish the extra jobs you take on. There's some in-mission benefits to arresting suspects instead of killing them, but you can definitely pull of a massacre on everyone in the map, which comes off a little weird.

The graphics seem nice, but they fail to get the job done when it comes to making enemies visible and visibly distinct (I couldn't tell the difference between armed and melee suspects, which is a big problem in the middle of a firefight.) I was a little peeved that some of my favorite cops had the same character model as every other cop-it's a major oversight that the only female cop model is a long-haired redhead when none of the character available look like that. Given that I think this series has survived on its ability to make the police under your command likeable, I wish I could've seen different designs for each character.

I developed an attachment/fondness for the different characters I had, but in the end, the gameplay was so aggravating that I readily gave them up just to finish the last couple of missions without going back to a savepoint.

This is a great game and i feel bad to have to say not to reccomend it, but its one fatal flaw in my mind that really ruins it. the first mission has some great stealth, gameplay, its great. but there is an objective you MUST do which FORCES you into combat, combat, is this games fatal flaw. combat very much feels as a punishment for bad play, which is great as the game seems very stealth focused. but the problem is the enemys always seem to aim for your head and fire a bunch. that means you just randomly lose your best character instantly. and as the first mission i think its trying to say combat is unavoidable, but is showing you why to avoid it, but the combat is so annoying and feels like its just out of nowhere with the deaths that i have to say this isnt a great game, the rest is as its always your fault if you fail, in combat its that a 10% chance passed and your guy/girl now has a new hold in their skull. it doesnt feel deserved. not to mention my people dodge more bullets out of cover then they seem to in full cover. if your fine with this go ahead and play, but personally it gave the impression that equipment, and people, are in short supply so randomly losing your people to forced randomness in forced section of forced combat. if you are fine with this. play this game as it is amazing. if your like me, and this just frustrates you. im afraid this aint the game for you. i wish i could put neutral on this but still, i have to choose so, i will go on the side of caution.

Rebel Cops - A Fantastic Turn Based Strategy Game

Rebel Cops is by far, one of the best turn based strategy games I have played in awhile. While there aren't as many nuanced story-driven cutscenes like This is the Police, or This is the Police II, Rebel Cops holds its own with it's own merits.

As far as turn based strategy games go, this one is a true gem. There are several different ways you can get a mission done, whether that's by killing all the enemies, or deciding to go the stealth route and arrest them one by one. Each cop has a set of skills you can pick that help missions go the way you want to play.

The only downside this game has, is there is very little replay value after you beat the game. Missions are the same, and they don't change as far as enemy numbers or an alternate ending if you do the game a certain way. That said, it is a wonderfully fun game if you enjoy a deep turn based strategy game.

I highly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys strategy games, and especially turn based strategy games. While turn based might not be everyone's cup of a tea, as a devoted lover of the genre of game, this game was well worth the money.

Great spin off to the 2nd one with even more nice added features.
Pros ( less management than previous games, before actions ai can reveal enemies you might walk into stealth by accident giving a prompt to continue or not and a good addition to finally use different weapons and body armor and some skills that help boost your squad you unlock later with xp)

Cons some of the levels are huge and can take hours at a time if you want everything while doing all the side missions, the lack of losing cop personalities compared to titp 2 shows since you are just rotating a couple of your cops for day and day2 than having them have their own personality and problems that you can help or want to hit your head on your desk but still laugh.

Overall i highly recommended this game to the fans that have played previous ones and i hope to see the third installment with these additions added along as well

For the price, it's a good turn based game with an interesting premise of fighting a crime boss with an undermanned and under supplied police force. Stealth and non-lethal is possible, but so is going in and asking every suspect if they want to make your day. It's X-com with a cops, and instead of aliens, you're beating some civie pushed into working for some mob boss with a baton. You'll take on side missions while doing your main mission, basically you have your main steam start on one side of the map, and your side mission team start in the other closer to the side objective. So you're managing to approaches and two different situations. Really liking it so far, but beware it does have the chance based system, and limited saves, so plan your save scumming wisely.
