Today, I want to share with you the inspirations for Hellslave II ????.
A number of works have inspired the creation of HellSlave, whether they are other games or works of literature. Here are a few of them, while waiting to discover HellSlave II:
Diablo
This series of games with its distressing atmosphere and exhilarating loot needs no introduction. HellSlave is an heir to this unique atmosphere and frantic dungeon-crawling, sometimes described by players as "Diablo, but in first-person and turn-based".
Darkest Dungeon
This one is among the influences most often noted by players, likely due to its graphic proximity and turn-based combat mechanics. An indie video game classic!
Shin Megami Tensei
Less known in the West, this Japanese dungeon-crawling series, with a system of team-building, capture, and fusion of demons, was a major influence on the approach to exploration and atmosphere.
The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri and Paradise Lost by John Milton
On the side of literary inspirations, Dante’s The Divine Comedy and John Milton’s Paradise Lost deeply permeated the narrative and creative direction of the franchise.
Inexhaustible classics that I warmly recommend to any fan of HellSlave!
