Für den Spieler geht es in F1 2011 nach dem Motto „Sei der Fahrer, lebe den Mythos, stell Dich dem Wettkampf“ um WM-Punkte. Dabei warten auf ihn zahlreiche Technik- und Gameplay-Verbesserungen auf und neben der Strecke sowie ein deutlich ausgebauter Multiplayer-Teil mit Wettbewerbs- und kooperativen Elementen.

F1 2011 enthält alle offiziellen Teams, Fahrer und Strecken der heiß erwarteten FIA FORMEL 1 WELTMEISTERSCHAFT 2011, darunter auch den aktuellen FIA FORMEL 1 FAHRER-WELTMEISTER Sebastian Vettel. Die Saison 2011 ist auch die Bühne für das Debüt des FORMEL 1 GRAND PRIX VON INDIEN auf dem Jaypee International Race Circuit von Delhi sowie für die Rückkehr des legendären Nürburgring in den Rennkalender. Sehr schönes F1 spiel habe mir bewusst das ältere gekauft. Bei mir gab es auch keine Probleme mit Win 10 und windows live. Speichert den Fortschritt nachdem man sich anmeldet. Auch wenn win live nervig ist.

Beim Spiel finde ich gut, dass es einfach zu steuern ist und das lebhafte drum herum zwischen den Rennen, mit Interviews , eigenen Schreibtisch, eine eigene Garage hat. dass Team, was an dem auto herumschraubt usw.

Ich habe das Spiel gekauft um es zu Spielen nicht damit es abstürzt bevor es überhaupt ein Fenster geöffnet hat!!!

Formel 1 2011 enthält schöne Strecken, schnelle Boliden und eine präzise Steuerbarkeit. Dieser Formel 1 Klassiker von Codemasters sollte in keiner Rennspielsammlung fehlen, denn er bietet beste Unterhaltung auf gehobenen Niveau. Der Karrieremodus ist sehr gelungen und die Grafik und der Sound sind auch aus heutiger Sicht sehr empfehlenswert. Eines der besten älteren Formel 1 Spiele von Codemasters.

Es ist einfach frustrierend, dass ein gekauftes Spiel einfach nicht mehr funktioniert, weil Windoof meint, keinen no-GfW-live-Patch rauszubringen
Ein Grund, nie wieder ein F1-Spiel zu kaufen

Grafik ist super und die Fahrphysik Anfängerfreundlich. Mit einem guten Lenkrad für Casual gamer sehr empfehlenswert!

I guess I recommend this IF you know how to get the game working. You won't get the GFWL stuff but it will work. At 19fps for me but still.

And that's pretty much it. V8 F1s, in 2011, yours to play, if a tad glitchy.

I had problem with installation, also with starting season #1 and #2. Game crashed during Monte-Carlo (S2), and now I have problem with saved games. I lost progress from Monte-Carlo, Canada and Valencia.

Review for 2021

Back in the days, maybe this game was praised to be good, but today it's just very outdated. Multiplayer is bound with Windows Live, so that's dead. Only option for multiplayer is Coop, so thumbs up for that. There are some glitches here and there, but nothing game breaking. Sometimes the rules are just inaccurate, which means you can exploit them. Also the optimization is very poor, as if it was ported from a console to PC (F1 2020 takes less resources than this game).

In other words, not worth it for 2021. Buy it only if nostalgia hits you for Nurburgring and V8 engines.

Compatibility issues on modern computers. Also some strange input lag with this game, otherwise it wouldn't be bad. I reccomend ensuring at the least you will be able to run this on your PC before purchasing, in which case is probably worth it for the current price.

Other than flew straight into the gravel trap because the realism, the game runs pretty fine, looks pretty good in mediums, the AI is fairly challenging for new players on easy, feels quite balanced.

This game is really awesome and gives me back in nostalgia because this game i played when i been as child (namely 13 years), but only problem is because sometimes frame drops in random part of race track or lags but i think this is problem is from game but otherwise this game is still awesome althrough play very recently.

Do not buy this game. It does not work at all for windows 10. It is a shame that this sh*t is available for purchase in Steam. Just waste of money, it keeps crashing.

Not recommended if lower specs are not a requirement, or if you don't need a 2011 F1 season nostalgia fix. The Live Games for Windows overlay needs one to jump through confusing instructions on forums to get the game to boot on Windows 10. If you don't have an XBox account, you'll need to register one. Then the selected controls don't stick between game boots, i.e., you need to reselect the wheel everytime you boot the game.

A very nice experience with a controller in the career mode. Any controller should do, just use the Gamepad template from Steam's big picture mode, and it should be good to go. The game runs smooth and stable, as it should on even modest hardware given the game released in 2011.

On Windows 10, the game does not initially launch. This has to do with Games For Windows Live (GFWL) service some games from that era used. This can be relatively easily fixed by going to the 'Guides' section of the game's hub, and reading the top guide to reinstall and update the GFWL service in Win 7 compatibility mode. Once the game is able to start, just use your microsoft account to log in, and the game should now be able to save player progress.

There is no tutorial for someone new like me to F1 games, but there is some helpful information provided by the game narrator that should be enough to jump into career mode straight away. A little web search, on what are KERS and DRS in F1 cars and when to use them, for example, would be useful for a new player to get up to speed in the first couple of races. A pleasant and accessible experience, hardly feeling like a 9 year old game. Can definitely recommend F1 2011, an 8/10.

F1 2011 (and 2010 as well) had their own unique style and aesthetic. If you're interested and can handle GFWL, buy it. 2007-2011 were truly golden years of Codemasters.

A decent racing game and a must for F1 die-hard fans.
The handling may give you a sense of deja vu about F1 2009 (Codies first F1 game which was horrible) but it`s still good.
I haven't finished the Career yet but so far,there is a lot of competition unlike irl where Red Bull dominated the field,I mean it,just look at this:

Even the mid-field cars challenge the top ones for podiums.

Few problems that are is your engineer (he is boring as hell) and Croft in which he interviews you if you got a podium/win or a DNF,he looks too strange.

Also GFWL still exists for some reason...but if you make an offline profile you can save your progress in Career so hope is not lost.

solid F1 game

looks nice and you don't need a £1000 pc to run it.

if you play with a wheel you'll want to adjust the downforce as it definitely feels lacking with some cars. redbull in particular. i first noticed it round monza, some corners you should easily be able to take flat and it was a struggle to get the car round. otherwise no complaints

The biggest problem I have always had with Steam is the lack of ongoing support. There are a growing number of games on this platform that either require direct modification by the buyer to run properly or, like this one, just will not run for various reasons. The reason this game is defunct is Games for Windows Live, a now dead service that has entirely been replaced, but yet has not been either removed or updated in this game, creating a login loop that is trying to connect to a server that is no longer there. This can not be blamed on licensing with codemasters as it would be upholding a part of that agreement that is no longer supported by anyone. I bet the worst part is that Steam, Codemasters, and Microsoft all say that its not their problem. I am posting this and attempting the process of a refund, as I got it in the f1 pack and it might be now 30 days since purchase, wee shall see. None of that should matter considering the situation as I am giving up trying to get it to work. Buyer beware. I say class action people. Power to the consumer.
