The Pulse Monthly - 11.0
Scorn
07.12.22 14:41 Community Announcements
Hey everyone!

It’s hard to believe that almost a year has passed since we began posting these Pulse Monthly updates. Since the game has officially launched, we’ll be winding down the frequency of these to focus more on highlighting patch notes and providing updates on backer rewards or any additional exciting news we’d like to share with the community.

As the community manager, I want to say it’s been an absolute pleasure getting to share these behind-the-scenes updates with the community and provide some insight into what the team has been working on. Thank you for taking the time to share your screenshots, fanart, experiences and interpretations of Scorn, as it’s made the experience all that more meaningful.

Patch 1.2.1.0 is Now Live

We appreciate all of the comments and suggestions so many of you have made. We are listening and implementing changes accordingly. The latest patch is another quality-of-life update, which includes the implementation of FSR 2.1 and a number of bug fixes, such as:

  • NPC respawning after loading the game.
  • Scripted animation replaying after loading the game.
  • Reduced "Use" action range on the main door console in ACT I.
  • Mistplane light issue on ACT II.
  • The main character gets stuck in ACT V.
  • Selecting the "Windowed mode" changes the resolution.
  • Various issues with the environment.

As with last time, if you end up experiencing technical issues, please ensure your graphics drivers and Windows OS is up-to-date (if you’re on PC), and that your system meets the minimum system requirements.

If the above doesn’t resolve the issue, please fill out this form with as much detail as possible to assist with troubleshooting and give us the best chance of addressing these issues in an upcoming patch!

Backer updates

While we were aiming to have the production of physical items completed by mid-November, there have been some further delays due to the ongoing global supply chain issues. Although slower than we had originally hoped, the good news is that things are still progressing here. It looks like we should be receiving the remaining materials sometime this week, but will wait to provide shipping updates until everything is in and finalised. In the interim, here’s a preview of how some of the items turned out!

A Feast for the Senses

Many of you have asked about the availability of the art book and soundtrack since the deluxe edition promotion ended! We’re currently in the process of getting these items listed for sale separately for those in the community who already own the base game but still wish to own a copy of the art book or OST. We’ll be sure to announce as soon as these are available.

This week, Lost in Cult opened pre-orders for the latest issue of [lock.on], featuring Scorn on the softcover edition! The cover was illustrated by our incredibly talented concept artist, Filip Acović (Spinebender) and will also be available in digital format.

If you’ve been keeping your eyes peeled across our socials, you may already recognise the concept, which was adapted for the custom-designed Alienware Lunar Light x17R2 Intel Nvidia laptop we’re giving away. The contest closes December 9th at 11:59 PM GMT, so be sure to claim your entries if you haven’t already. Remember to check the terms and conditions for eligibility requirements.

Lastly, we just wanted to share that the team was absolutely honoured to receive a nomination for Scorn in the category of Best Art Direction. While the game draws inspiration from a lot of existing works across art, literature, film, games, and even life, we're proud of the art and visual style we achieved for Scorn, and it seems our community is too! The winners will be announced live, during The Game Awards, on December 8th.

Thank You

It’s hard to express just how surreal it has been, going from launching our Kickstarter to being able to see our vision for Scorn come to life. It’s no exaggeration that without all of your support, encouragement, and excitement over the years, none of this would have been possible. Thank you, from the entire Ebb Software team, for coming along on this journey with us!
