Star Trek: The Video Game Online FAQ’s

If you are experiencing problems when trying to play online co-op:
It's possible you may have selected the "Offline" setting when starting your game. In order to fix this simply do the following:

1. Go into "Options" (either from the main menu or from the pause menu) and select "Game Type".

2. Make sure you set the game type to either "Public" or "Private" as "Offline" will set the game to single-player only mode. Please note that if you set the game to "Private" only players that you send a game invite to will be able to join your game.

Matchmaking : Invitational Matches | Similar Levels

Unless an invitation is sent to another player, you will only be able to join another game that is at a current or similar level/area as you are.

Online Match-Making Tips: Co-op

Players will only be able to join games (through either quick match or custom match) that are at the same point in their current progress/level in the game. The exception to this rule is if you are sent a game invite from a player that has already progressed past the point where you are in the game.

We recommend that you set at least the difficulty (Easy/Medium/Hard within the criteria settings) when searching for a Custom Match online to narrow the search and make it easier to connect to another random player. Since the Quick Match feature will use the settings that were used/selected in Custom Match by default, if you started by selecting Quick Match (without going into the Custom Match option) it will be searching by the "any-any-any" search criteria.

Online “Drop-in, Drop-out” Games:

If you are playing with another player through online co-op, you will need to make sure that the setting for "Game Type" within the options menu is set to either Public or Private (depending on your preference) as setting the game in "Offline" mode will not allow others to drop-in to your game.
