Erforsche und gestalte weit entfernte Welten! Astroneer spielt im 25. Jahrhundert während des intergalaktischen Zeitalters der Entdeckungen. Die Spieler müssen die Grenzen des bekannten Weltraums erforschen und ihre Leben in menschenfeindlichen Umgebungen aufs Spiel setzen, um seltene Funde aufzudecken und die Geheimnisse des Universums zu enthüllen.

In diesem Abenteuer können Spieler zusammenarbeiten, um überirdisch oder unterirdisch eigene Basen zu errichten. Sie können Fahrzeuge erschaffen, um die Weiten des Sonnensystems zu erkunden, und das Gelände nach Belieben gestalten. Bei diesen spannenden galaktischen Abenteuern sind die Kreativität und der Einfallsreichtum des Spielers der Schlüssel zum erfolgreichen Erforschen! In Astroneer kannst du Folgendes tun:

Verforme den Boden unter deinen Füßen, als würde er aus Ton bestehen.
In Astroneer verwenden Spieler ihr Verformen-Werkzeug, um alles umzugraben, zu sammeln, zu gestalten und zu bauen, was sie möchten. Verwende diese Fähigkeit, um dich bis zum Mittelpunkt der Erde zu graben, baue eine Rampe bis zum Himmel oder bilde Megalithen, indem du einfach das Gelände benutzt!

Erforsche und entdecke sorgfältig generierte Planeten, die vollständig umgeformt und erkundet werden können.
Unser gewaltiges Sonnensystem besteht aus 7 wundersamen Planeten, die Spieler restlos erkunden und zwischen denen sie reisen können: von einer komplett kugelförmigen Oberfläche über tückische Höhlenebenen bis zum mysteriösen Kern. Jeder dieser Planeten verfügt über eine einmalige und anspruchsvolle Oberfläche sowie Höhlenbiome, die Spielern eine Vielfalt von Herausforderungen auf ihrer Reise bieten.

Kombiniere Komponenten und Objekte, um Basen und Fahrzeuge zu bauen.
Gegenstände, die Spieler anfertigen oder in der Welt finden, können alle problemlos platziert und miteinander kombiniert werden, um einmalige Kreationen für jede Situation zu erschaffen. Passe deine Basen, Fahrzeuge und deinen Astroneer individuell an und verändere sie nach Belieben.

Spiele mit Freunden im offenen Koop-Modus für bis zu 4 Spieler.
Astroneer macht mehr Spaß mit Freunden. Verbünde dich mit anderen Spielern und arbeite mit ihnen zusammen, um gemeinsam gewaltige Industrieanlagen zu erbauen oder in der umfangreichen Sandbox-Umgebung kreativ zu sein und coole Spiele zu erfinden.

Entdecke die Geheimnisse des Sonnensystems und decke sie auf.
Sobald die Spieler bereit sind, können sie den Versuch unternehmen, der Macht auf den Grund zu gehen, die sich hinter den in der Welt anzutreffenden mysteriösen Gebilden verbirgt, um diese möglicherweise für sich zu nutzen.

Astroneer war zuerst ein Early-Access-Titel auf Steam, und es würde das Spiel ohne deine Unterstützung, dein Feedback und deine Ideen im Rahmen seines Entwicklungsprozesses heute nicht geben. Jetzt, da wir bei Version 1.0 angelangt sind, werden wir unserem Versprechen nachkommen und das Grundkonzept von Astroneer durch kostenlose, fortlaufende Aktualisierungen von Inhalten weiter ausbauen. Ich habe jetzt momentan eine Spielzeit von 21.5 Stunden und finde das das spiel sehr viel spass macht aber mit Freunden macht es umso mehr spass, man kann auf verschiedene Planeten fliegen wenn man eine Rakete hat, jeder Planet hat andere Materialien / Stoffe. Es ist praktisch ein Open World spiel was mich ein bisschen an Minecraft erinnert nur das es nochmal was ganz anderes ist.

This is the type of game i like with beautiful landscapes and highly detailed terrain and caves. my friend and me played it and really enjoyed it, in multiplayer it is twice the fun.

Ein Umwerfendes Sandbox-Survival-Spiel, welches viele positive Eigenschaften vorweist. Zu diesen zählen:
- sehr gute In-game-Physik
- Suchtpotenzial
- Grafikkarten schonend
- Einsteigerfreundlich mit Tutorial
Und dies sind nur einige der wichtigsten Eigenschaften von Astroneer.
Also wer auch immer das Bedürfnis hatte, sich in die nächste Rakete zu setzen, um einen weiteren Außenposten auf einem anderen Planeten zu errichten, ist dieses Spiel perfekt geeignet.
Von mir kriegt es eine 10/10

Das spiel ist seeeehhr gut aber der Kreativmodus ist nich so gut. Ich würde es so machen das man im Kreativmodus keine resoursen sammmeln muss sondern alles sofort Drucken kann.

Sehr Gutes Spiel.
Die Grafik scheint zwar erst sehr schlecht, passt aber Perfekt zum Spiel erlebnis. Es ist definitiv ein grind spiel in welches man eingiges an zeit Stecken muss. Teilweise wird es sehr umständilich wenn man die Planeten orbs aktivieren muss. Ansonsten kann ich jedem das Spiel ab ca 12 Jahren Empfehlen, wirklich spaß macht es aber nur mit Freunden

das spiel hat zwar den ein oder anderen Bug, diese sind nicht weiter schlimm, da sie meist lustig und nicht von langer dauer sind. ich kann das spiel nur empfehlen im Multiplayer zu spielen

Dieses Spiel ist eines der besten die ich je gespielt habe, die Animationen sind niedlich das playthrough ist Klasse. Auch für Speedruns ist das Game super geeignet, 400 Spielstunden lügen nicht!
Ich kann Astroneer jedem empfehlen der ein wenig Geschmack hat und Comic Animationen toll findet.

Das Spiel ist sein Geld auf jeden Fall wert.

Es ist ein sehr entspanntes Spiel, welches man Ewigkeiten spielen kann.
Man sieht, wie starken Fortschritt man macht und kann es auch super mit Freunden spielen.
ich habe nahezu 90 Stunden in diesem Spiel und haben es nicht ansatzweise durchgespielt, es ist also es gut wenn etwas auf lange Zeit spielen will.
Es bekommt sogar weiterhin Updates und damit immer weiter neue Möglichkeiten das Spielerlebnis zu verschönern.
Ich kann das Spiel nur empfehlen.

Das Spiel ist sehr Gut. Ein Freund und ich haben es nach 50 Stunden Spielzeit noch nicht durch, was ich persönlich sehr gut finde, da man so viele freie Möglichkeiten hat sich eine eigene Basis zu bauen. Außerdem hat das spiel gute Spiel-Mechaniken und viele Sachen zum erforschen. Ich finde das Spielkonzept auch sehr gut. Man kann kostenlos mit Freunden spielen und kann viele witzige Erlebnisse (wie z.B den Rover mitten im nirgentwo verlieren) haben.
Alles im ganzen Bewerte ich das Spiel mit einer 10/10

Ich finde, dass das Spiel eine sehr schöne Grafik hat. Die Inhalte sind schön, obwohl es keine richtige Story hat. Man kann alles erforschen und hat eine Herausforderung. Kann ich jedem empfehlen!

Cooles kleines Spiel. Aber es gibt noch ein paar Bucks wie zum B.s.p: Die Kameraperspektive oder Sachen glitchen durch einen Schredder oder durch einen Schmelzofen. Aber sonst kann man sich nicht beschweren, der Preis ist auch gut und es ist auch ein kleines cooles Multiplayer spiel.

Dieses Spiel ist richtig gut. Es ist ein Astronauten Spiel, wo es mehrere Planeten gibt, die 3D sind (man kann den Planeten umrunden) und es gibt reale Erze und Gase. Mit Freunden macht das Spiel auch viel mehr Spaß, da man mit diesen viele Abenteuer haben kann und auch mal Spaß machen kann. Das negative ist jedoch, dass es sehr viele Bugs gib, aber mit jedem Update werden es weniger. Die Grafik ist mehr so einfach gehalten, aber sie ist jedoch noch eines der besten Grafiken, durch dieses einfach gehaltene und den vielen Farben. Dieses Spiel ist dadurch nicht zu Grafik intensiv und sehr farbenfroh (man muss das einfach gehaltene mögen).
Mehr will ich aber auch nicht sagen, da es sonst zu viel Spoiler ist. Im ganzen, ist das Spiel sehr positiv und man kann auch nur über die Bugs lachen (wenn man einfach mal so durch den Planet fliegt).

This game is like, REALLY good, though at some point, when you [spoiler] start to activate the Gateway Chambers [/spoiler] , it really just starts to be a huge grinding game. Hence, if you play with friends, it´s definitely a very good game. :D

Gestern habe ich mich wieder mal sehr geärgert und das nicht zum ersten mal. Nun hatte ich endlich nach langer Zeit meine Map so wie ich sie haben wollte, dann ein Crash nach dem neuesten Update. Das Spiel hatte sich aufgehängt, warum weiß ich nicht. Nun startet meine Map nicht mehr. Monatelange Spielzeit investiert und nun alles weg. Das ist nicht zum ersten mal passiert, meist nach einem größeren Update.
Das Spiel ist auch bei weitem nicht fehlerfrei. Die Entwickler beheben einen Fehler und schaffen damit wieder neue. Im jetzigen Zustand würde ich dieses Spiel auf keinen Fall weiter empfehlen.

Mir fehlen einige Dinge. Ansonsten macht es schon recht viel Spaß.
Einige Dinge sind nicht erwartet.
1. Dass die Schubdüse nach 2 mal reisen kaputt geht. So kann man schnell mal irgendwo auf einem Planeten stranden
2. Die Planetenauswahl und Landeplatz Auswahl könnte echt viel intuitiver gemacht werden. Ich würde sogar bevorzugen selbst zum Planeten fliegen zu dürfen, oder zumindest auf der Oberfläche den Planeten beliebig drehen zu dürfen.

Ein wirklich gelungenes Open World Survival Craft Game welches im Weltall spielt. Die Grafik ist putzig und gerade im COOP macht es riesen Spass.

Ich bin lange zeit großer Fan des spiels gewesen aber ich habe absolut nichts übrig für ingameshops die mit eigener währung arbeiten. das hat so viele negative aspekte, das mir vor wut richtig schlecht wird. es war ja nicht ein mal angekündigt und das macht es um so schlimmer. netter wäre ein DLC gewesen um noch etwas geld zu verdienen, aber das ist einfach der falsche weg und das auf ganz vielen ebenen...
in meinen augen nicht mehr zu empfehlen, da sowas für mich absolut den spaß raubt und mir das gefühl gibt ein spiel zu spielen mit einem pay to win konzept zu spielen, vor allem da die erreichbaren ziele für skins ja der antrieb und das ziel waren.
Abgesehen davon das bereits verdiente skins mehrfach schon verschwunden waren und neu verdient werden mussten...

I adore this game but the controls are god awful and you have to constantly wrestle the camera. The floaty physics mixed with bad controls and a shitty camera make playing this game noxious at times.

Game doesn't respect your time. Hours of work trying to find/create things only to have them disappear through the ground, never to be found again despite hours of looking. I have loved several games in the vein of Astroneer, many even being far more hardcore. What I cannot abide is a game wasting my time with technical issues such as these.

I enjoy playing the game, collecting resources, and digging to the center of the earth, but with one of the recent updates the controls got significantly worse. Digging or trying to flatten the ground makes it so the camera tilts around the point at which you start digging, instead of behind your character, so anything even remotely large-scale becomes a giant headache-inducing chore instead of the gratifying smooth experience it was before. If that gets fixed, I would definitely recommend the game.

It's a peaceful base building sandbox game that I enjoyed playing a lot. To those who love expanding the base, building advanced automation, or doing creative work. This game is for you. Who would have thought you could slingshot yourself into another planet with the wonky physics. Wanna attach a rocket thruster into your friend seat and launch them into space? Wanna anchor your friend behind a car with a winch and drag them all around the place? This game is for you.

I am a 45 yo father, probably one of the oldest people playing this game. I am a single farther to my Son, who is 14 now. My son got this game for Christmas in 2020 from his uncle, so we installed it on his computer and he started playing. By the end of the week he had 24 hours on this game. This was horrible for me, as it was already hard for me to find ways to spend time with my son, as he is always out with his friends or just watching YouTube. So i decided to make a Steam account and get this game to see if I could maybe play alongside him. I loaded into the game, made my character and world and started playing but I was stuck on what you where supposed to do. I asked my Son for help and he hosted a game for me to join. I loved it as it was the best time I had spent with my Son since my wife had died. This game has ever since brought me and my son closer again and now we actually spend time together outside the house together as well. This game reminded me that there's fun to be had in everything, and it has brought both me and my Son many happy memories.

The game is super fun, did all the achievements.. certainly worth the money. but feel empty now that there is no real end game. I feel like it could have so much more! but still great game and certainly got my money's worth. Definite buy!

This game is adorable and fun. It definitely lingers in the relaxed space, since there's nothing really out to get you. Peacefully (for the most part) explore new planets in a sandbox, gather resources, research the things, and do the science!
I would definitely recommend this game to people who have to be up and down a lot, or if their attention needs to be taken away for a minute. As long as you're near an O2 source, go AFK! Now, that's not to say you can't sit and play for hours on end, because I sure can!
Set up and build your own base with terrain modifiers, or don't. Gather things neatly and organize a resource rich base, or be chaos. Either way it's awesome, made even better by dancing in the barren wastes with your friends.

Its a pretty game, and its fun. I really like the aspect of being able to travel to multiple different worlds and how they scale in difficulty a little bit each time. I also enjoy the exploration of the game. Lots to do and to see!

This game is pretty relaxing to play with a sprinkle of tension from the perils of digging down into the cores of each planet coupled with the challenges of the different terrains adds just enough spice to keep things interesting. Of course crafting and managing your electricity, oxygen, and currency certainly adds another layer to this otherwise serene game.

It's a pretty fun game but damn it feels dead, no creatures, no monsters besides...angry plants, it's a bit too easy, the only real way of dying is by not being cautious enough and still you do not lose anything upon dying, too easy for my taste but still pretty enjoyable

I really wish steam had a maybe option for the reviews, because that's how I feel about this game. It's a maybe. Is it bad? No. Is it good? Maybe?

It has very satisfying systems in place, the modularity of each building piece and technology are very satisfying to setup and plug in. And seeing all of your solar panels wake up to face the sun is adorable and again satisfying. Visually the game is nice too, the simple low poly style mixed with the really smooth lighting makes for some gorgeous scenes on the different worlds/biomes you'll be exploring. Also the audio and music are great and fit perfectly. I also love the astroneers themselves, they're adorable and you can customize them! *(there is a MTX store and I'll touch more on this later.) And the tether system early on for oxygen is fun and creates nice little chains to see where you were exploring!

The problems come when you start feeling the repetitive gameplay loop. Basically to progress you'll come to a point where you need resources that are only found on certain planets. This would be a good thing and it does promote exploration, if it weren't for the fact that the planets just aren't very interesting. The only really dangerous threats you'll face are terrain(just steep hills and things) and plants. Also there is only the one main solar system with the set planets, it was weird seeing everyone comparing this to NMS when it came out considering that fact. And so the difficulty comes down to power generation on planets, but once you unlock the RTG you really don't even need to worry about that. After that point the last few missions kind of turn into fetch quests riddled with inconvenience.

Our save began chugging at this point. I have a decent PC I really only need a new GPU at this point and we all know how that market is right now, so it was incredibly annoying. Every movement would cause weird hitching and stuttering. My friend fell through the map like twice and died just because the map loading in couldn't keep up with them sliding down our tunnels. Basically everything started getting super buggy from here on out. Hoverboards were a total pain, and not because you do take fall damage on them, but because we just started going weirdly slow for no reason at all.

And that's why I would say maybe. I don't want to recommend this game, because I couldn't help but feel annoyed/disappointed at the endgame. However also don't really want to not recommend this game because the early to mid game weren't terrible and you could see glimpses of something great if a little more TLC were put in.

What tipped the scales with the negative review was the inclusion of a MTX system. I would personally much prefer a dlc system with new content rather than this. Seeing a MTX store greet you in the main menu of a cute little survival game like this feels really off-putting. Also they're quite expensive. I just don't like the idea of promoting MTX systems, especially in games that already have a price tag. They're very predatory and take advantage of people who have that 'Collect em all' mindset.

I played Astroneer during early access and it was a truly special game. It had some bugs and what not but it didn't matter, I still thoroughly enjoyed playing it alone and with friends and enjoyed every aspect of the game. I returned recently after over a year just to check it out and I was really disappointed to find no new content and few new items. You know what I did find though? A gigantic premium item shop with a couple thousand dollars worth of stuff to buy in it. It's pretty obvious that the focus has shifted from adding new content and improving a really promising game to milking current and future players for money. Moreso, it's double dipping since you pay $30 for the game, it's not like the game is free-to-play and its funding model is in game items. It's sad and I know I'm not alone in this. Hoping someone from System Era reads this comment and recognizes that they are going down the wrong path.

I dont think its possible for the human animal to interact with something for 41 and a half nonstop days and simply not have an opinion about it. after playing for this long, pushing many of my friends to buy it and having gone through several stages of my life, i think its about time i give mine.
To me, astroneer is like a spring break morning. you just rolled over in bed to look at the time, its 11:13 on a saturday. you scooter over a few blocks to your friend sam's place. their older brother got a laser tag set and you both play with that for an hour or two. their mom makes you both turkey sandwiches in ziplocks with some caprisuns and apple slices. and you set off into the woods behind their house on a self proclaimed adventure.
The theme of this expedition is space rangers. exploring this wild world you run around uncovering rocks and causing general mischief. after a while you find some logs and eat the sandwiches. you both decide to bring some other friends out there for something at a later point.
you both head back and and the neighborhood grandma just made cookies. youre trading injokes and impossible video game rumors with the other kids. its getting time for dinner so you say goodbyes and head home. note on the counter says that the rest of your family wont be back home till late. you treat yourself to a feast of microwwave easymac and big puff cheetos while watching spongebob.
Its now 2021. its been years since youve talked to sam. last you heard from the grandma she was taken to a home after her memory started slipping. you should have asked for that cookie recipe.
you think fondly about this day from time to time. its a bit blurry and you dont remember many of the details but everytime you think about that day it makes you happy.
thats what playing astroneer is to me. its reliving that care free day out in the woods playing space ranger with the taste of caprisun in your mouth.
System era is game development team that does what they do because they love doing it. adding in paid cosmetics because people wanted to pay them to keep developing this great game. if they ever decide to make a new game, i will wait with baited breath as i have done with every update of this game.
thank you System Era. thank you for giving me that spring break day every time i boot it up.

The chillest survival sandbox. It has a highly rewarding gameplay loop tied into well-executed and interesting base building system. Perhaps less in-depth than other games in the genre, but it's always been a fun, rewarding experience each time I start again to see what's new since early access. Perhaps I'll see end-game content some day, but there's no rush.

Absolutely phenomenal game. After playing through the game once I used that first save to accomplish all the the achievements. The first play through was great and its very replayable even after getting the achievements. I seriously recommend this game to people who like simulators/open world games. Not the best at reviews hope this helped though!

Edit: Even after the achievements there's still TONS to do on the first save. Definitely replayable for a second or third time with all the nice information you soaked up through the first save. Great game!

There are 2 separate versions of this game which is absolutely stupid, the windows version and steam version. If you want to play with xbox people you need the windows version. If you want to play with steam friends you need the steam version. Making you buy the game twice on the same platform is EAs wet dream.

I bought this game way back when it was first in early access and I loved it. Played through all the content available at the time and then waited for the updates and releases that looked so promising.

Cut to 4 years later (legit waited 4+ years to play the game again) and I have never been so let down by what I came back to. The main ones are below but TLDR - this game gives the player no purpose and the content dries up real fast.

1) No more storms - the only survival aspect of the game was removed and there is nothing left to be scared of. It also means having a well organized base is pointless. Feel free to leave all your resources on the ground, they won't blow away.

2) Content is now all small, medium, large items of basically the same thing. If you are happy with the small stuff then there is now no need to find the higher tier resources. Also, 2 aluminum for an entire spacecraft that has no fuel, charging, or oxygen? Spacecraft used to feel like an accomplishment and now its easier to make than a storage container.

3) Bored of finding all your resources? Feel free to make them all using soil from anywhere nearby - just dig a big hole. The only reason to explore is to find resources, now you don't have to.

4) But now you can make a cool base right? meh, more content means more base options, but after removing the power component (insufficient power used to mean nothing would work which was a challenge at night or during a sandstorm - now insufficient power means less optimized performance. You can legit run everything (slowly) on the power from the main house module) there is no reason to build a cool base.

5) Research used to be RNG heavy which, granted could be annoying, but also meant higher tier items were found through deep exploration. Now, feel free to roam around the surface collecting bytes and research items. Far easier, less time consuming, and removes any reason to do anything.

6) No story - I used to like this, but then other aspects of the game made up for the pure sandbox nature of the game. Now, without those aspects some form of story might actually entice me to play, or give my little spaceperson a reason for existing.

This game had so much promise - what a shame.

This is a very relaxing game. It gives you the freedom to make your own strategies, and pace the game however you want. It is a good way to spend time with friend, going on a hassle free adventure and spacetrotting! The new update of power, missions and compass was a great addition. The power update solves the early game power shortage problem. The missions good for new players as they explore and progress. The compass is the most essential addition as it is super easy to get lost on the planet, and the beacon is not viewable from a far distance. The compass helps navigation and planning so much better. Although the missions helps in early game but the rewards are becoming less meaningful as you progressed into the late game, when you mass produce the nanocarbon alloy. I actually don't mind that the game's low replay value, because this is a game that I feel it is perfectly designed for a week of getaway with friends during breaks and holidays. Like a boardgame that you only play a few times in a year.

If you are looking for an ultra casual space game then this is for you 100%, however if you are hoping for tons of later game content, sadly this game fails to deliver there in my opinion. I do not think that it is a 'bad' game, but I feel it fails to deliver later on.

The early game of this is quite enjoyable, with building up your base and moving up in the tech tree. However as you progress there is a definitive lack of endgame content to explore. The planets themselves all share similarities, with slight variations in resources, meaning that you must travel to these other planets to progress. However, once you have been to each of the planets a few times, you will have basically gathered enough resources that going back and forth becomes far less necessary.

Playing a game where you are told to explore the stars, I was hoping for more to explore, but very quickly you feel that you have in a sense 'beaten' Astroneer, and sadly it left me bored and not wanting to do anything else in the game.

The game itself is not bad at all, it will entertain you early, and for some it will entertain you long term. For me this game hits hard and fun, then falls off quickly, not something I would personally recommend. If they choose to expand their solar system with new planets and more to explore, maybe I will give it another try. For now it remains in the library.

A colourful sandbox crafting player versus environment game with solid co operative fun but minimal replayability.

Astroneer is a game about marooned astronauts in an alien system and some sort of weird device spanning the system. Essentially this is like the Raft and Minecraft where you are gathering/mining and creating. It's entirely co-operative and the environment is not as very challenging especially once you got further down the tech and equipment tree. However initially you might find it restrictive/punishing, especially if you haven't packed the right gear!

This game is best played with people, and the more the merrier. The cutesy graphics means things are pretty easy to identify except when you start going deeper underground, where light is an issue. Aside, there is a minor narrative/objective to follow you're left to it really. You can have fun exploring, blasting off around the planets. The planets are proceedurally generated but there are always a set number of and types of planets. Resources are randomly generated and you might get stuck somewhere you don't want to be if it doesn't contain the resources you need to craft something to get you back. Equally, this means you have to travel to all the planets to gather resources in order to craft objects and so on.

In a nutshell, a great game for a group or couple who like crafting, building and exploring and don't mind the cutesy graphics. Not one to keep coming back to again and again though.

Great game. All that can be said. It's industrial survival where you can do literally anything you want. You can replay it whenever you want to as well. One of my favorite games and it's the most played in my library, which is for a reason. Highly recommend this game.

The tutorial was horrendous. It barely teaches you the mechanics. The UI/UX is also just clunky. It's unnecessarily complex to craft something so simple. There's no main story and not really much incentive aside from researching new machines. I get open-world games, but I feel frustrated just going through it.

And micro-transactions... really? That's a red flag.

This is such a relaxing game to play. It's like Don't Starve Together but there's no impending doom every second! It's a good game to play solo but I think it's fun with friends. You can go exploring on your own, but you have the extra helping hands when building your base.

My computer is quite low spec, but I'm still able to play it without too much difficulty. Sometimes it takes a few seconds for the game to catch up with my actions, and my camera and movement are not smooth, as well as the quality since I've had to lower my settings. But comparing it to my husband's gameplay (on a better computer) it looks very smooth (and pretty).

Ultimately, getting up to shenanigans like shooting friends into orbit with a winch, or building a ramp, putting rockets onto the back of a rover and driving off into the sky is what this game is all about!

A great platform for an ultimately unfinished game.

The first 20 hours or so were amazing! Learning my way around the systems and technologies, organizing the elements in my base, and starting to climb the tech tree. It felt like there were so many options to explore and discover. I could choose which parts of my base I wanted to upgrade, and pursue those organically.

Then things started to sour. Despite the wonderful UX of the always-active inventory/world hybrid, I started to notice more awkward or poorly designed elements that began to frustrate me. By the late game I was tabbing through lists of dozens of build options one at a time, conveyed through names and icons that always took a moment to appear, slowing me down greatly.

Different avenue of research dried up, while innumerable platform geometries of little difference clogged up by build menu. Things got bigger but no more interesting.

I hit a certain stride once I got resource and soil canisters, and was tractoring huge loads of minerals around, but this was the last time I had fun with the game. Settling new planets had become a highly repetitive chore.

I finished my final goal, building the largest rocket. I realized there was nothing I wanted to do with it, so I just...stopped. I've been left with a bad taste in my mouth, and I won't be recommending this game unless someone asks.

This game is really fun. The gameplay is polished and the artstyle is excellent.

However.
This game has terrible replay value. There are no other solar systems, no other planets apart from the ones you start with, and basically no modding tools or community.
The procedural generation is purely superficial and has no real gameplay value.
This is the critical failure of this game. You cannot play it more than a few times and have fun.

For such good gameplay, it's a shame it's not playable more than once.

This really is just the most satisfying and relaxing game I've ever played. It's super easy to understand and get to grips with in general, but the wiki does help for keeping track of certain recipes or whatever. There are occasional bugs you come across, but nothing too mental.

One thing I really appreciate in this game is that you can unlock cosmetics through getting achievements. It's something I've always really appreciated in games but thinking about it, the last game I remember enjoying this feature in is Halo 3, so if you're like me and you love stuff like that, it'll only add to the enjoyment you get from this game.
The multiplayer is seamless (maybe a little too seamless as you're not notified in any way if a friend hops in your game) and is more buggy than single player, but again, not too crazy, and understandable as the game is still seemingly in an early state.

It's really quickly become one of my favourite games, and I'm jealous of kids that'll get to grow playing this, because this would have been 1000% my jam if it was around when I was little. There's things you come across in this game that are seriously awe-striking and I really recommend just experiencing the game for yourself before watching anything on it, because it's like nothing I've ever played before.

Creating a base and expanding it and bringing back resources to create new items is loads of fun.
The developers are always brewing a new update.

This is a fairly open exploration game about searching planets for resources, and finding hidden secrets. Be warned that the controls are unusual, and that it provides minimal direction. You will likely feel lost at several points. Be careful about opting to use guides, as this may spoil some of the charm. However, if you are not highly interested in directing your own play, this game may not be right for you.

They added microtransactions when they never stated they might do so one day and it didn't have them at first. This has put the cosmetic options which used to be for free behind a paywall while the rest of the actual game remains stagnant.
It's a major slap in the face and I am extremely disappointed that the developers decided to go this route.

But with that out of the way I do have to give credit where credit is due. The actual gameplay is enjoyable enough and there have been a lot of additions and improvements since the early days.
The game isn't very challenging but that is part of the charm. It's like playing factorio but extreme easy mode and no real end goal. A fun game to play if you just want to unwind and relax. Maybe listen to a podcast in the background.

The sound design though. The music is this super annoying floaty space bullshit that server to do nothing but give the listener a fucking headache. 10 times better if you turn the music off.

I was ultimately unimpressed by Astroneer. Don’t get me wrong, the game is fine. It looks nice, runs well, and has mildly interesting gameplay. That said, the gameplay is quite boring and repetitive over time. There is no real story to drive the game forward either. If you can find this game on sale it is worth a try if you enjoy resource gathering and exploring in a space planet setting. But if you are looking for a deeper experience then I would pass on Astroneer.

This game features some really great art design, and interesting game play elements. If you like exploration and hoarding resources to expand your base, as well as researching technology to visit other planets, then you'll probably have a good time with this game.

There is one thing I have to say though... this is not a survival game. Why? Because there is no threat of death so long as you stand still. From the very first moment you start a game and land on the first planet surface, you are not in any danger. All you have to do is stand next to your landing pod and you will be supplied with endless oxygen and you'll never die. There's no hunger, no thirst, no actual requirement to move even one inch from where you started. You essentially have conquered the game without even doing anything.

Good game, but microtransactions aren't great.

Make them earnable in-game (even if very grindily) or price them at $1-2 dollars for a hat, for example. You'll make more money that way anyhow.

Over 170 hours of enjoyment ruined by these new ingame shop updates, was looking forward to work hard for these new skins but they are just for SALE on the shop, no need to comeback to this game if i can just BUY them instead of playing the GAME... after finishing the game getting all the blueprints unlocked and most of the singleplayer achievements there is not much the game has to offer exept getting all the skins but now that they are for sale for Real money why bother play it anymore.

Such a unique game, the atmosphere and the art style is absolutely amazing. When I first got this game I had full intention of returning it. I didn't think I would enjoy it, but I did and I loved every single second of it and will for years to come!

This game has to be beyond my expectations. The game really shows that low poly doesn't always look bad. The atmosphere and environment of the different planets is just beautiful. Music also really fits in with the situation. The only con I have for this game is the fact the game doesn't really have an objective besides activating planets, which works with sometimes, but it just doesn't seem to work with astroneer in my opinion.

I'm surprised I didn't review this game earlier. I like it, it's colorful, entertaining and not overly challenging or punishing. The first time you play it, it is great, more mysterious, more to figure out. Some people are put off by the graphics or maybe that there are not any guns in it or whatever. Completely worth the full price in my opinion and I'm into games like Subnautica, Empyrion and the Civilization series of games. Check it out.

My friend and I really love this game, it is a ton of fun, which is why it pains me so much to give it a thumbs down.

The sole reason we both spent our money was to be able to play this title multiplayer, to date in the short amount of time we have been playing we have lost two medium shuttles and two normal shuttles.
You see every time I land it's a crap shoot on whether the game will disconnect me and when we invariably have to both restart our games to be able to connect again it acts as if I'm a new player and we've lost the shuttle.
That's when we can connect at all.

A quick search revealed that this game has had multiple disconnection issues, including this one for at least two years.
And the Devs have answered them with silence as is par for the course nowadays.
I can not in good conscious give a positive review of a game with a multiplayer tag if the multiplayer is so full of game breaking, unaddressed bugs that it is rendered single player only.

When the Devs reach back out to the community and start bug fixing the multiplayer issues, I will change this review to a 10/10 like, until then it's a game I have no interest in playing single player that I am unable to play multiplayer.

pretty relaxing and nice game, having alot of fun with my friends but tbh i have no idea how tf they call this game finished. This game has so many dumb bugs and glitches that just ruin your fun. I would maybe wait for a patch fix before buying this game, these gamebreaking glitches and bugs are just too much. Glitches like dying for no reason,losing some of your stuff for no reason and the most annyoing one that made me write this review is I was flying to a planet and while i was flying i pressed escape and my shuttle just froze mid air and the only solution i had was to create a new character because the game didnt spawn me in it spawned me in the character creation page.

all this game need is a patch to fix these dumbass problems.

This game is first off, absolutely beautiful. The game is the perfect level of challenging, but relaxing. I love playing with my friends, and it's something I could see myself getting lost in for hours. This was recommended to me by friends who all have 100+ hours on this game, and it is definitely worth it, only three hours in. The sound design is absolutely immaculate and makes the whole experience so much more immersive.

Perfect for either quick or long periods. Very fun and relaxing game. Good fun all alone or great fun with a group of friends.
Did have some crash issues in Early Access, though those appear to be a thing of the past.

I absolutely love this game, but cannot recommend it in it's current state. Too many bugs, some of them directly affecting your computer. If you have a save with too many hours on it, it will eat all your computer's RAM until it freezes. Would not recommend until the devs work out more of the bugs.

I like how it is open world but still there is a goal adventure almost never stops
i don't like how there is no to danger (other then plants) I remember watching a youtuber and there were sandstorms but now there isn't and it gets kinda lonely when you don't have friends who play the game as well could you add pets to the game that do something like sniff out scrap or something like that
but overall the game is great and I reccomend this game to everyone

SUPER LONG REVIEW UPCOMING: Incredible game, my favourite game of all time. Astroneer is a relaxing very grindy base building, survival, resource gathering and exploration game, and a very good one at that. It has a simple and addicting gameplay loop around resource gathering and researching new items, but as expected new resources require going further from base and exploring the planet/planets surface, caves and mountains for these rarer resources. Pretty soon this will mean visiting the 6 planets (technically 2 of them are moons) for new ores and later on, gases. Be warned though, Astroneer is quite grindy so if that's not your thing at all, maybe Astroneer is not the game for you :)

Astroneer has 3 potential causes of death, fall damage and suffocation. Fall damage works exactly like it does in every other game, but oxygen is a lot more interesting. Near the base or a vehicle, the player is given oxygen, and when venturing more than a few metres away, the players oxygen tank will start decreasing, eventually resulting in death. The player can craft tethers to provide a hose of oxygen so that they can explore free of oxygen risks, or they can use air filters to provide a 1 time use boost to their oxygen for a bit. Tethers also provide a useful trail to lead the player back home to base. Later on vehicles can be used to explore completely free of oxygen risks. the third risk is plants that can blow up you or shoot stuff at you or inject poison into you with giant needles. When you die, a grave icon appears above your grave and you can retrieve all your stuff. Astroneer's survival elements are fairly minimal and easy, but this keeps the gameplay relaxing. But don't be fooled, you can run into some tricky survival situations if you're not careful, and if you can't find you grave because it was to far from base or you were deep in a maze-like cave system away from tethers, you may never get your stuff back. All in all, the survival elements of Astroneer add some great depth and enjoyment in gameplay, while not feeling to difficult or frustrating in order to keep the relaxing experience of Astroneer.

Navigation is another key part of Astroneer. The player is given a compass (hover over your character to see the compass), tethers, beacons and the stars to navigate around the planet. Smart players can avoid getting lost even when leaving their tethers by setting up beacons to follow back home or by using the compass well, but even so every player gets lost sometimes. Finding out how to use the stars for navigation (which I won't reveal here) is a very satisfying and useful way for navigation, but you could even go so far as to get a friend to guide you back home from a space shuttle orbiting the planet!

Which brings us to the next topic, multiplayer. Astroneer has 4 player co op (soon to be 8 players in a few months with the introduction of dedicated servers) that simply works with one player hosting a game and the other players joining. It's simple and works really well. Multiplayer greatly increases the fun in Astroneer, speeds up progression and just makes the game better. Astroneer is best with friends, simple as that.

Vehicles are another key part of Astroneer, providing oxygen, faster exploration, storage and increased mining potential. The vehicles range from small exploration buggy's, to massive rovers that could even be changed together to form mobile bases. Vehicles greatly increase the fun of the game, exploration potential, and mobile bases are EPIC.

Base building is really satisfying. You can enhance your base with terrain creations, but it is not required. The power system in bases is also handled really well. Not a whole lot to say here, but base building is really good!

Astroneer also features a toggleable creative mode. You can activate and turn on creative mode in existing survial saves, but this will not allow you to get achievments in that save. Creative mode is fabulous for customising your experience, going crazy with base building and creating epic structures from terrain, or just mucking about and attempting to blow a planet up with dynamtite (it has been done before ;). Personnally I don't use creative mode heaps, although its great for setting up survival challenges, but I have seen some players do some absolutely crazy things with creative mode and built some insane creations.

Theres also a mysterious story if thats your thing btw. The ending is pretty epic ;)

To summarise, Astroneer is superbly designed game that's really relaxing, addictive, and can be a blast to play with or without friends. Survival elements are fairly easy but fit the games atmosphere and style really well, getting a perfect balance between difficulty and relaxing gameplay. The mystery story is also pretty cool. Be warned though the game is quite grindy, so if you really hate mining, it may not be the game for you.

A work of art. A masterpiece, potentially.
Astroneer has this habit of not telling you about things, letting you figure it out. Post Early Access, of course, the game had to have a tutorial for the folks out there that can't appreciate a good mystery and/or trying things out to figure how they work before reading pages of tutorials or Wikis, spoiling themselves the beautiful and likely unforgettable experience designed by so many talented people.
I'll follow the original vision here, and just tell you to give it a chance if you like Minecraft or sandbox games in general.
If you can bring anyone along with you in the journey, do it. And do not spoil yourself about anything - it's worth it.

After playing the game for a bit, I highly recommend watching the No Clip documentary on its development.

Thanks for reading this quick review that menaces with spikes of mystery. :)

Astroneer is an indie space themed exploration, survival and craftin game released on 2016(I will write later why I mention the release year).
PLOT:
The game takes us to the 25th century where Astroneers explore the frontiers of outer space, risking their lives in harsh environments to unearth rare discoveries and unlock the mysteries of the universe.

PROS:
+You can play with your friends to build and develop much easier, faster and more enjoyable.
+Its a open world(s) that enables you to discover new things ever time you play.
+Developers still putting a lot of efforts to make the game much more better.

PS:I am still playing this game time to time and still get amazed by it.(bought it on 2016)

This game is the best for those days you don't feel like talking to anyone and just want to think things through. Its a simple, but complex game. I really like it, you should try it out
