Ezio freundet sich mit Leonardo da Vinci an, bekommt es mit den mächtigsten Familien in Florenz zu tun und wandelt durch die Kanäle Venedigs, wo er alles lernt, um ein Meister-Assassinen zu werden. EZIO, EIN NEUER ASSASSINE FÜR EINE NEUE ÄRA Ezio Auditore da Firenze ist ein junger italienischer Adliger, der die Wege der Assassinen kennenlernen will, um Vergeltung üben zu können, nachdem seine Familie Opfer eines tödlichen Betrugs wurde. Er ist ein Frauenheld, eine freie Seele, doch seine Persönlichkeit hat auch eine sehr menschliche Seite. Durch ihn wird der Spieler zum Meister-Assassinen. DAS ITALIEN DER RENAISSANCE Das Italien des 15. Jahrhunderts war weniger ein geeintes Land, als vielmehr eine Ansammlung an Stadtstaaten, in denen Familien mit politischem Einfluss und finanziellen Möglichkeiten begannen, die Macht über Städte wie Florenz oder Venedig an sich zu reißen. Diese Reise durch einige der schönsten Städte der Welt findet in einer Zeit statt, die als Geburtsstunde von Kultur und Kunst gilt, aber immer begleitet von Korruption, Habgier und Mord. EINE NEU ENTDECKTE FREIHEIT Der Spieler wird Missionen ausführen können, wann er will und wie er will. Die offene Welt bringt das freie Fortbewegen des ersten Teils zurück und fügt neue Elemente wie Schwimmen und sogar Fliegen hinzu. Die neuen Spielmöglichkeiten sorgen dafür, dass der Spieler das Spiel so durchspielen kann, wie er es möchte. DYNAMISCHE MASSEN Der Spieler entdeckt eine lebendige Welt, in der jeder Charakter auch eine Chance für den Spieler bedeutet. Das Verschwinden in der Masse erleichtert Ezios Aufgaben, die Zusammenarbeit mit anderen Charaktern kann sowohl Belohnung bedeuten, als auch für unvorhergesehene Konsequenzen sorgen. Klare Kaufempfehlung! Wer in die AC Saga eintauchen möchte ist hier genau richtig. Es ist der 2. Teil der Reihe und dementsprechend natürlich ein älteres Spiel. Die Grafik hat sich aber gut gehalten. Pros: Das Gameplay: Es macht spaß zu: Meucheln, über Dächer parkour zu laufen, Kämpfen und sich die Besten Wege zu seinem Ziel zu suchen. Im Punkto des Spielflusses merkt man dem Spiel kaum sein Alter an und ist ein schön abgerundetes Spiel. Die Grafik: Natürlich nicht mehr die Beste, aber trotzdem sehr stimmig. Sie passt gut zu dem Spiel und sorgt für eine schöne Atmosphäre bis zum Spielende. Die Story: Man muss den 1. Teil NICHT gespielt haben um die Story zu verstehen oder um sie verfolgen zu können. Die Hinweise und Verweise auf den ersten Teil sind mit ein wenig zuhören sehr gut verständlich. Der Umfang: Neben der eigentlichen Hauptstory kann man mit Ezio noch, mal größere, mal kleinere Aufgaben nebenbei Erledigen. Von 100 Federn (verteilt auf die komplette Spielwelt) sammeln, bis hin zu mystischen Glyphen zu finden, Auftragsmorde oder geheime Verstecke der Assasinen wiederzufinden. Es gibt sehr viel zu tun. Ich selber habe nur die Glyphen und die Rüstungs-/Waffensammlung aktiv vollendet und bin bei ca. 23Std. nach beenden der Hauptstory. Die Performance: Das Spiel sollte auf jedem aktuellen Toaster laufen. Auch auf Rechnern mit einer IGPU bzw. APU sollte das Spiel kein Hindernis sein. Neutral: Das Spiel war bei mir dauerhaft auf 58FPS gelocked. Egal welche Einstellungen ich hatte, dies lies sich nicht ändern. Ist zwar ärgerlich, aber *60*FPS in einem Story Spiel wie diesem sind komplett ausreichend und sind deswegen für mich kein Hindernis. Negativ: Ich hatte Anfangs Probleme mit dem Gamepad. Ich habe das Spiel mit einem XBOX Controller gespielt. Bei mir hat das Spiel diesen nur erkannt, wenn ich das Spiel starte nachdem der Controller an war. Controller beim Starten des Spiels anzumachen hat dazu geführt, dass das Spiel diesen nicht erkannte. Im Menü, sowie bei manchen anderen Sachen, wurde mir dauerhaft und penetrant der Mauszeiger angezeigt, der ja durch das Gamepad nicht hätte da sein sollen. Dies ist aber für mich der einzige Negative Punkt und kann auch gut eine Ausnahme sein.

Ich würde Assassin´s Creed II empfehlen. Es ist ein wirklich sehr schönes Spiel, was auch beim wiederholten Spielen noch großen Spaß macht. Die Grafik ist okay. Die Steuerung ist nach kurzer Eingewöhnung sehr leicht - hatte nur am Anfang kleine Schwierigkeiten die Controller Steuerung einzurichten. Die Story um Ezio ist gut durchdacht und wird wunderschön erzählt.

Assassin's Creed 2 Review Die Story In Assassin's Creed wurden wir bereits in die phänomenalen philosophischen Grundpfeiler und Rahmenbedingungen der Spielwelt und dabei in die gegenwärtige Geschichte des Desmond Miles eingeleitet. Er wurde von Abstergo-Wissenschaftler Warren Vidic gefangen gehalten und dazu gezwungen mithilfe der Animusmaschine (animus lat. = Seele, Geist) die Erinnerungen seines Vorfahren Altaïr in dessen Haut nachzuerleben, um Hinweise für die gegenwärtigen Aufenthaltsorte der sogenannten Edensplitter zu kommen. Diese sind mächtige Artefakte, mit denen ihre Besitzer andere Menschen so sehr beeinflussen können, dass sie ihnen gar blind folgen. Mit Altaïr kamen wir in Assassin's Creed in Kontakt mit einem dieser Splitter, dem Edenapfel, und konnten diesen an uns nehmen. Desmond konnte derweil den Plan Vidics durchblicken und schließlich mit Vidics ehemaliger Assistentin Lucy fliehen. Genau hiermit geht es in Assassin's Creed 2 direkt weiter. Nachdem Desmond und Lucy in Sicherheit gelangen konnten, geht Ezio zurück in einen weiteren Animus, um die Geschichte eines weiteren Vorfahren nachzuerleben, der mit Edensplittern in Kontakt getreten ist. Ebenso soll Desmond weiter an seinen Assassinen-Fähigkeiten arbeiten und mithilfe der Erinnerungen durch den sogenannten Sicker-Effekt weitere erlernen. Dank des Sicker-Effekts kann Desmond in der realen Gegenwart bereits das Adlerauge verwenden – der sechste Sinn der Assassinen. Im Florenz der Renaissance spielen wir Ezio Auditore, einen adeligen jungen Mann in der Blütephase der Stadtentwicklung. Er erscheint temperamentvoll, unschuldig und lebensfroh. Dies alles ändert sich rasant. Nach einem Plot gegen seine Familie, wird sein Vater Giovanni und seine beiden Brüder Petruccio und Federico, die wir zuvor in kurzen Quests kennenlernten, öffentlich hingerichtet. Ezio muss dies miterleben und schwört Rache an denen, die für den Mord seiner Familienmitglieder verantwortlich waren. Was sich zunächst eher klischeebedeckt liest, wird im Spiel derart hart und authentisch präsentiert, dass diese Zwischensequenz zum ersten Wendepunkt einer riesigen Gefühlsachterbahn wird und große Emotionen aufkommen, die für den Spieler als der perfekte Anfangsansporn für das Erledigen der Aufträge in Assassin's Creed 2 fungieren. Was folgt ist eine von Rache getriebene Reise, die Ezio und uns als Spieler über 20 Jahre von Ezios Heimatstadt Florenz über Moteriggioni, San Gimignano, Forli bis nach Venedig und Rom führt. Dabei spart Assassin's Creed 2 nicht an Referenzen zur großartigen Philosophie der Spielwelt und ihren Bezügen zur richtigen Welt. Ihr solltet unbedingt am Ende die Inhalte aller Kodexseiten lesen! Diese bringen dem Spieler Verbesserungen der Ausrüstung und müssen im Laufe der Geschichte gesammelt werden. Bei der Entwicklung der in den Kodexseiten erwähnten Technologien hilft ein bekanntes historisches Gesicht: Leonardo da Vinci höchstpersönlich. Wer weiß, was Leonardo da Vinci in seiner Lebenszeit so geprägt hat, kann ahnen, welcher Spaß uns durch ihn in der Geschichte zusätzlich erwartet. Das Leveldesign Der große Kritikpunkt zum Leveldesign im Vorgängerspiel war, dass die Aufträge und Missionen zu repetitiv waren und kaum bis keine Abwechslung boten. Man hatte Aussichtspunkte zu erklimmen, musste Leuten in Gefahr helfen, Lauschmissionen erfüllen, Taschendiebstähle begehen und verdächtige Personen verhören. All das macht Assassin's Creed 2 um einiges besser. So gut wie alle Missionen und Quests wurden in die Geschichte mit einem Zweck eingefügt, der entweder Ezio und Desmond voranbringt, die Geschichte voranbringt, das Setting erweitert oder den Spieler mit Informationen versorgt. Eine Abwechslung der Missionstypen ist dabei stets gegeben, während ein paar zusätzliche Quests freiwillig angeboten werden. Dabei besteht zwar keine große Auswahl der Missionszeitpunkte, aber das ist auch nicht notwendig, da Ezio stringent zu seinem Ziel kommen möchte, das schwer genug zu erreichen ist. So gut wie jeder Tötungsauftrag, um einen der Beteiligten des Mordes an Ezios Familie auszuschalten, verlangt nach anderen Herangehensweisen. Besonders blieb mir diesbezüglich ein Auftrag zur Karnevalszeit in Venedig in Erinnerung. Dieser ist nicht nur durch das abwechslungsreiche Setting visuell beeindruckend, sondern bietet in der Durchführung höchst unterhaltsame neue Aufgaben, bei denen Ezio u. a. auch seinen Charme zeigen muss. Die Atmosphäre Bahnbrechend für Assassin's Creed war das Klettern und Bewegen auf den Türmen und Dächern der Städte. Diese in Spielen in der Form meines Wissens nach neue Art der Fortbewegung hebt Assassin's Creed 2 auf ein komplett neues Level mit vielfältigen neuen Klettermöglichkeiten, einem unglaublichen Freiheitsgefühl überall hinzukommen, wo man möchte (besonders auf den großen Gebäuden der Städte), und einer neuen Möglichkeit, neue Höhen in sensationeller Flüssigkeit und Schnelligkeit zu erklimmen. Es ist diesmal ein noch viel größeres Erlebnis zu wechselnden Tag- und Nachtzeiten die traumhaften Architekturmeisterwerke der Renaissance zu besteigen und die Aussicht von den Spitzen auf die graphisch wunderschönen, detailreichen und unfassbar authentisch ausschauenden Städte mit tollen Weiten hinter die Stadtmauern im Horizont zu genießen. Allein das schafft immer und immer wieder eine atemberaubende Spielatmosphäre, die den Spieler tief in das Herz der Renaissance einlädt und dort festhält. Wenn es ein Spiel geben würde, in das ich als unsichtbarer Beobachter hineinteleportiert werden und eintauchen könnte, dann wäre Assassin's Creed 2 einer der allerersten Titel, die mir für dieses Erlebnis einfallen würden. Die Städte sind in ihrer authentischen Präsentation für Erkundungstouren abseits der Missionen ein riesiger Spaß. Dabei finden wir vertraute Gebäude wieder, die heute immer noch existieren und Millionen von Besuchern anlocken (u. a. Das sogenannte Toskana-Manhattan in San Gimignano, die Cattedrale Metropolitana di Santa Maria del Fiore in Florenz, die Engelsburg in Rom, der Dogenpalast am Piazza San Marco in Venedig usw.). Zu vielen Gebäuden gibt es im Spiel Informationen zur Baugeschichte und weiteren Hintergründen und Entwicklungen, die oft mit einem herrlichen ironischen Unterton versehen wurden. Eine besonders mystische Atmosphäre bieten zudem die verschiedenen Assassinengräber und Templerverstecke, die man erkunden kann, um auf Schatzsuche zu gehen. Die Atmosphäre wird stets passend durch den fantastischen Musik-Score unterlegt. In den Assassinengräbern erwartet uns langsame, dunkle, mysteriöse Musik mit langen hohen Noten. In Verfolgungsjagden und Klettermissionen gibt es rasante, hektische Musik, die den Abenteuergeist weiter aus dem Spieler herauskitzelt. Und dann gibt es Ezio's Theme. Zu diesem Lied möchte ich lediglich schreiben, dass es zu den besten musikalischen Stücken gehört, die im Rahmen vom Videospielen je komponiert wurden. Es fängt die Atmosphäre des Spiels perfekt ein und verschafft genau den Gefühlsmix aus Epik, Nostalgie, Spannung und vielem mehr, den das Spiel braucht, um zeitlos zu sein. Fazit Assassin's Creed 2 ist eine große Bereicherung für die Spielindustrie und eine noch einmal deutliche Verbesserung zum ebenfalls fantastischen ersten Teil. Das Spiel führt die Geschichte sinnvoll weiter und lässt den Spieler in eine neue traumhafte Welt einsteigen mit vielen atemberaubenden Möglichkeiten und einer gefühlsvollen Geschichte rund um den meiner Meinung nach besten Charakter im Assassin's Creed Universum. Es ist lehrreich, philosophisch, emotional, spannend und vor allem spaßig. In meinen Augen ist Assassin's Creed 2 nicht nur eines der besten Spiele des Adventure-Genres, sondern ein zeitloser Videospiel-Klassiker, den ich jedem Spieler nicht nur bedingungslos empfehlen würde, sondern auch sehr ans Herz legen würde. Für mich gehört dieses Meisterwerk ganz oben zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsspielen. GESAMT: 94/100 Punkte

i really do love this game. of course the graphics aren't the best and the gameplay is sometimes a little repitious but it's a game from 2009 and if you really want to play an old-school assassins creed game with a good story then the whole ezio-triology is the way to go.

Ezio hat es nicht leicht. Weil ihm die Inkonsequenz von Ubisoft Montreal immer wieder Knüppel zwischen die Beine wirft, denen er trotz aller akrobatischer Fähigkeiten nicht ausweichen kann. Auf der einen Seite hat das Team um Jade Raymond sich nahezu jeder spielmechanischen Kritik am Vorgänger angenommen und an vielen Schräubchen gedreht. In Kämpfen kann man z.B. Gegner entwaffnen und hat generell mehr Möglichkeiten. Das trockene, gegen Ende redundante Missionsdesign des Vorgängers wurde gleich komplett über Bord geworfen und durch eine gestraffte, weitestgehend lineare Kampagne ersetzt, die aus dem Italien der Renaissance keinen offenen Action-Abenteuer-Spielplatz, sondern einen glanzvollen Schauplatz für einen Rachefeldzug macht. Der geheime Star ist ohnehin nicht Ezio, sondern vielmehr die größtenteils zum Staunen und Träumen anregende Architektur, die nur noch von der vorbildlichen Lokalisierung getoppt wird und die mit ihrer Pracht dafür sorgt, dass technische Mängel wie Tearing, Pop-Ups und mitunter krude Schattenwürfe hingenommen werden. Aber trotz der pompösen Kulisse: Assassin's Creed II ist nicht mehr so eindrucksvoll wie der Vorgänger. Und das hat viele inhaltliche Gründe: Das Figurenverhalten wurde zwar verbessert, setzt aber auf immer wiederkehrende Muster, die auf lange Sicht unglaubwürdig sind. Die neuen Katakomben sind im Kern nicht mehr als eine ungeschickt aufgestülpte Variation der bekannten Sprung- und Kampfelemente. Der erzählerische Bogen, der virtuelle Vergangenheit und Gegenwart miteinander verknüpft, wird viel zu selten gespannt, so dass die Story an Reiz verliert. Das Klettern wirkt immer noch zu leicht und wie auf Schienen. Die coolen Doppelklingen sind viel zu mächtig und entwerten das restliche Waffenrepertoire. Dennoch möchte ich die Zeit mit Ezio nicht missen: Die Kämpfe, das Klettern und das Meucheln haben zwar einiges ihrer Erstfaszination verloren, machen aber Spaß. Weil es immer noch und immer wieder schön ist, einen Turm zu erklimmen und sich am überzeugenden Design der italienischen Renaissance-Metropolen zu erfreuen. Zu schade, dass die Städte im Zusammenspiel mit der Akustik bis auf wenige Ausnahmen mehr Charakter zeigen als die Figuren. Assassin's Creed II teilt das Schicksal vieler Filme, die als Mittelteil einer Trilogie erscheinen: Ambitioniert und unterhaltsam, aber letztlich nicht mehr als ein Übergang, der sich nicht all zu weit vom Vorgänger entfernt und gerade mal das Nötigste tut, um den vermeintlichen dramatischen Höhepunkt vorzubereiten.

The ‘Ezio Trilogy’ is still the best in this series, no doubt. Assassin’s Creed 2 is maybe the best of them, the competitors are its own other 2 games of the trilogy. The world of ‘Florence’ and ‘Venice’ is marvelous. It’s great to know so much history of the Italian renaissance era... [Joke: My countrymen pronounce the “Etzeo” (Ezio) as “Ezeo”, well it's an Italian word.]

Graphics and gameplay may be dated, but I had more fun in this than i ever did in odyssey and valhalla combined. Story is incredible, the missions challenging and combat is engaging. It's a masterpiece, and a goated game.

Played this gem again after 10-11 years. My favorite Assassin's Creed games are from the Ezio story. I think the game keeps it simple compared to future entries. The parkour feels realistic because there are consequences for e.g. grabbing or leaving a ledge etc. Graphics still look beautiful, the motion capture and acting was done so well that it still holds up. The marvelous story keeps the game going! A must buy if you're looking to play Assassin's Creed games. I can still remember watching the game-play reveal on YouTube which showed Ezio hand-gliding across Italy at night. It was the most beautiful thing in a game I had ever seen. The characters are so pure and genuine. Claudia is the only sibling in any game that I could relate to my own sister. Leonardo Da Vinci is my favorite character. Playing the game after school and making some great memories when I used to discuss animus stories with my cousin. It was so much fun!

The game begins with Lucy, who we know as an Abstergo employee but later turns out to be an assassin, asking us to connect to Animus. But this time we are experiencing the memories of our ancestor named Ezio, who was born in Florence, Italy, and lived during the Renaissance, not Altair, which we know from the previous game. In the series of events that begin with the decease of Ezio's father, we suddenly find ourselves in the midst of political strife among the leading families of Italy. It is also possible to see the names of the period in the events. Many Renaissance intellectuals, such as Leonardo Da Vinci, also appear in the play. Especially if you are one of the history lovers like me, you will like this situation very much. Quite a few have been put on the first game as a gameplay. Now we have a completely different game in front of us. We are playing with more different weapons and killing methods. Of course, in turn, I can say that the enemies have also become more difficult and have different mechanics.

Its kinda sad Ubisfot deleted some DLC form the game so i cant finish 100%.some secret locations. missing DLC list you cant get any more these are dlc they delet 2021 june. (Templars' Lair , Santa Maria dei Frari , Arsenal Shipyard, Auditore Family Crypt, Battle of Forli (Sequence 12), Bonfire of the Vanities (Sequence 13). ) Besides that great game the story is great and fun. Some times the mechanics can s*ck i rate the game 8/10.

One of the best, maybe the best sequel of all media franchises ever! Everything, I mean literally every aspect of the game is better than previous Assassins's game. The various cities you visit are all detailed and large, the story is interesting, with a lot of emotional moments. You also get great main protagonist and following him from 17 years old to his early 40's is a real treat. Ezio is who you care for and you want him to get his revenge.

Es un juegazo, tiene una historia genial y un ambiente perfecto. Lo único que le puedo criticar al juego es que a veces llega a ser un poco frustrante el tema de los controles, definitivamente pudieron haberlos hecho mejor para PC y no quisieron, aún así es perfectamente jugable

The base game is fun as ever, runs perfect, and looks great in 4K. Now for the bad stuff: You are forced to download UPlay AND Ubisoft Connect, and worst of all, you can't access any of those deluxe edition extras. The servers are down for Assassin's Creed 2, so it's even more pointless for Ubisoft to shove these stupid programs on your PC. This is honestly foresight for how Ubisoft's NFT's will look in a year's time. Forgotten. Worthless. Inaccessible. Oopsy, our servers cannot connect to the blockchain, Please try again later! for every moment i played this masterpiece i told myself that IT'S SO PERFECT IT CAN'T GET ANY BETTER, yet it did, like, every hour, i dunno how ubisoft did this but it's one of best games made in history of gaming. gameplay ? like triple more variety than first game, makes you creative in a lot of weird ways repetitive ? you will never feel it, with how much gameplay and elements adding as you progress story ? godlike (continues first one so i highly suggest playing that first) (be sure to read in-game documents as well) ITALIA ? A bloody trip to 14th century Renaissance Italy.

A hugely improved sequel compared to the series first entry. Fantastic character introduction paired with interesting story development and a charismatic protagonist makes this game an instant classic. If you're looking for an interesting action-adventure game and don't mind it's age and clunky controls, this is the game for you.

I started the AC series very late but better late than never. And now this became one of my favourite game now. ++ Game mechanics are beyond its time, even its better than some new games in 2021. ++ Story is absolute masterpiece. ++ THAT ENDING, magnifico! It gave me goosebumps. (I'm very interested in ancient civilization histories which are unexplained or open to interpret (For example; Anunnaki, Mu the lost continent, mythical stuff etc.) ++ and Ezio ofc All pros have 2+ and there are no cons for me. A true masterpiece of gaming history and the best this series has ever been and ever will be. While Brotherhood and the excellent Revelations are almost equally as good, AC2 with its thrilling revenge story, memorable characters and absolutely fantastic setting of Renaissance Italy propels this game to the stratosphere for me. For anyone who has not played this excellent series, AC2 is a great jumping on point to see the beginnings of Ezio's story and how he came to be an Assasin.

DO NOT BUY THIS GAME IF YOU PLAY WITH XBOX CONTROLLERS Please just buy it on an xbox if you have one cause this game's controller support does not exist. I've seen guides on how to do it using emulators and some people have made it work despite it's jankyness but it honestly isnt worth the literal hour i spent trying to get it to work. I ended up with the triggers not working at all, couldnt move the camera at all and the start and B buttons didnt work either.

Assassin's Creed 2 is a complete step up from the first one in every way. For the most part, it still holds up today as in graphics, mechanics, etc. Absolutely would recommend 100% 10/10

This game still holds up quite well. A more story focused follow up to the original that follows the life of Ezio Auditore da Firenze. Gone are the forced side missions before each major assassination, now you just go from mission to mission. The climbing has been improved since the first but still has a little bit of jank to it. Well worth going through for Ezio's story, as well as to experience the full series.

Writing a review for ACII is not gonna be easy for me! I've always considered this game my favorite game of all time; and not just because of it being a work of art and a complete freaking masterpiece!... It's the game a twelve year-old boy got when he and his dad went to buy his Xbox 360 Arcade; when everything was alright in the world! ...and not just because it's considered the best entry in the series by many, starting the story of the coolest Assassin of all time (and one of the most attractive video game characters of all time), Ezio Auditore da Firenze! Because for me, it's nostalgia, it's my childhood, it's happiness, it's freedom! ...and I got to experience that again!

Beautiful game. Overall better than the first game of the series. The game isn t repetitive at all with lots of side quests (which can grant you bonuses) and fun events you might want to participate in. The scenery of this game is breathtaking and I suggest that you should take a little break from your main story and just roam around the beauty of Italy! What this game brings: A new money system that was not included in the first assassin s creed. You can do lots of things with this for example: you can increase the value of your own villa! You can upgrade your gear whenever you want or if you want to challenge yourself you can just forget about it, it is not mandatory, the game doesn t force you by any means to do exactly that. And were you by any chance annoyed by the pesky civilians in the previous game? Well, I am happy to announce you that this is not the case anymore as you can throw money away to avoid them! Isn t this a great way to flex with your hard-earned money? Also, Ezio isn t aquaphobic as a certain individual were. The only downside of this game is the lack of interaction with this animus. You were not forced like the previous game to exit the animus and take a well-deserved break like you do. This can also be considered a good thing as you could spent more time playing as the badass Ezio. However, a little more interaction with the animus as this is the main point of you doing all this is expected by me in the future games. Furthermore, I appreciate that this game actually always you to exit to desktop more effectively instead of staying 3 minutes just to close the game (I don t know what evil creature thought this was a good feature but okay. Thanks God task manager is at thing) To conclude all my thoughts about time game. It s a masterpiece nothing more or less. I could stay hours just to promote this game. I promise it will be worth it in the end.

One of the best stories throughout the franchise and overall one of the best games. Everything good about the first, plus tons of new ideas... this is the Assassins Creed that i recommend to anyone just starting the series. great learning mechanics, and very fun. (The only thing i hate is later on when you get to this firenze mascarade party.. your forced to do this suuuper annoyingly difficult capture the flag mission, which made me stop playing for a few weeks then come back to it later on.) Overall 9/10 Highly recommended.

The story is extremely interesting, Ezio is a really memorable main character. The game is filled with historical facts and people. Also loved the sci-fi parts. There's a great variety of missions and the game progression feels well-done. And it's just fun to explore Italy. A massive improvement compared to AC1. The only drawback is the controls. They're not that bad, but can get annoying. Also the game sometimes forces a specific camera angle, which just usually makes things worse instead of helping. 9.5/10

Having recently started to replay the AC2 franchise, I now remember what made me really fall in love with Assassin's Creed. It's regretful what the new generation of AC games has turned into, but fortunately we still have this bad boy to come back to. Long, satisfying story with 2 more expansions for you to play. Ezio is everyone's favorite and you should play this to find out why.

The only game which allows you to play in Renaissance Italy. Become a godlike assassin parkour master with concealed spring action knifes, wielding a wide array of weapons to hunt down you're enemies with. In a vast open world with great immersion to the italian culture with challenging stealth gameplay and alot of other things to do as well. Grazie. To this day it's still most unique game franchise in the way it lets you play as an assassin in a open world doing whatever you like other than killing civilians, part sci-fi, part history, part religion, part lore, theres nothing quite like it and as always it has a heartfelt gripping story that never disapoints. Fan fiction: soon after this review Desmond became obsessed with Italy and started to look for a great lost treasure that he was certain was hidden there. He started to have more and more prolonged exposure to the animus he decided to switch to a diet of only romagna pizza and italian soda. As time went on Desmond becoming crazier and weighing 110 pounds was sure that his search was coming too an end and that this treasure of some sort of holy hand grenenade could only be located in the vatician, but one fateful night after having a very long stay in the animus he went to get a slice of cold pizza from the fridge on his way back to the animus he tripped over on a stray wire on the floor falling on his back and choking on the last piece of pepperoni from his pizza, thus ending his life and possibley the future of the entire world.

Played 5+ times on different platforms and still a good old AC game. Not gonna say anything against the modern RPG ver of AC, but Ezio Trilogy is still worth playing after all these years. Chilling in Italy quickly became one of my favorite to do in home amid the pandemic.

Assassin's Creed II is a modern day classic; replaying it a decade later feels like visiting an old friend. I would personally consider it one of the best, if not THE best, in the entire series. The modern day story with Desmond continues as it was setup in the first game. This time around, though, it feels much more urgent and intriguing. No longer are you constantly being pulled out of the Animus for seemingly no gameplay or story related reason (other than for the villain to spout some monologue at you). Instead, the clash between the Assassins and Templars is treated with urgency. The actions Desmond and crew take feel weighty, and it's abundantly clear that people are counting on them to safeguard society. If all that modern day stuff is boring or uninteresting to you though, don't worry. It is as unintrusive as possible. What is really intriguing, of course, is the past. And the past is beautiful in AC2. We are treated to Renaissance era Italy, and it is breathtaking. There are a multitude of cities to visit ranging from the waterside paradise of Venice to the open country and crowded streets of Tuscany. Each location has its own distinct atmosphere brought to life by the absolutely stunning soundtrack. Populating the world is a unique blend of supporting characters, each intriguing enough in their own right, but the main star of the show is protagonist Ezio Auditore. Ezio is a genuinely interesting character to play as, beginning as a brash young teenager and becoming an experienced assassin. Throughout this journey, Ezio never loses his charm; though his youthful, witty arrogance is entertaining, his desire to learn and grow is equally so. The storytelling has also become much more personal in this sequel, as Ezio is given motivation the player can sympathize with. Resulting from this motivation is the unraveling of a Templar plot, interesting both in terms of story and gameplay. Speaking of gameplay, AC2 does it well. The parkour is satisfying from the get-go, and the combat system from AC1 was improved upon massively. Counter kills are not overly powerful, weapons and armor are improved based on player agency rather than current place in the story, and the main assassination missions are engaging to play through. Staples of the franchise, such as air assassinations and a second hidden blade, were also added in this entry. Additionally, there are set piece moments sprinkled throughout the game that are a welcome change of pace. Finally, side objectives and collectibles are not overwhelming whatsoever, offering a fun distraction from time to time but are rarely necessary to pursue (one exception being made near the end of the game). Overall, there is a perfect blend of what made gameplay in AC1 good, and enough innovation to make it great in AC2. Of course, this game isn't perfect (no game is). The parkour system will occasionally bug out, assassinations sometimes don't register, countering seems off from time to time, and sequences 12 and 13 feel very out of place compared to the rest of the game (these chapters were originally cut from the release and later added back as paid DLC). The graphics, particularly lighting, did not age all to well either. That being said, all of these negative are far outweighed by positives. If you are put off by the somewhat negative perception Assassin's Creed has garnered over the past few years, I implore you to at least try this game. Assassin's Creed II is what put the franchise on the map and launched it to such enormous success, and it wasn't for no reason. This game is amazing, and engages in almost every way. You owe it to yourself to play it.

Assassins Creed II is a masterpiece, that utilizes foreshadowing and tragic events to spin the tale of Ezio's revenge. The music and atmosphere has always provided a fully immerse experience of being in 15th-16th century Rome/Florence/Italy with surprise appearance of important historical figures. The amount of customization and optional learning is phenomenal. However, the one thing that always makes me come back to Assassins Creed II is the pre-tragedy story. As I can never forget the period of bliss at the start of Ezio's story, and the Federico Auditore exchange at the title scene. This game is a must play for its Story, Original soundtrack, activites, learning and set up as it has provided me with countless never ending memories. In a sense AC 2 motivated me to pursue my interest in History at a young age furthering my fascination of the time period through the optional data location. 11/10 would recommend.

Assassin's Creed II was in my opinion the beginning of the golden age of the franchise, not that nowadays the AC that have come out are bad, but these were very, very, very good, all the games that as main character had our friend Ezio, were simply phenomenal, being at control levels much like the first AC , but at the history level and as overall the whole game works major changes. First let's talk about the history of the game itself. Simply a masterpiece, it is not lost, it makes sense, it is interesting, as I am tired of saying is phenomenal. While in the previous AC we fell almost by parading in the plot, in Assassin's Creed II, we followed from the birth of our character (Ezio), how did he get into the creed and what is his mission. I'm not done with the game, i'm at half of it, but in my experience it should last about 10h. Probably quite outdated by the modern standards of graphics and combat systems. However AC2 was the golden era of AC series. Now, the Game's selling point would be that it has some of the best AC characters and its story is top notch.

KKKK Esse jogo é muito bonito, eu curti cada processo de exploração, missão, customização, locais, história... aliás, eu recomendo fortemente, para quem nunca jogou AC, além de jogar na ordem, jogar este game e descobrir por si mesmo tudo que acontece dentro dele. O jogo é muito rico em história, e caso não saiba inglês, procure tradução dele na internet e coloque dentro do jogo. Eu não zerei ele 100%, mas as missões principais eu fiz todas. AC2 me deu a total sensação de jogar Tomb Raider 2. Excelente, épico e muito bem feito. Importante: pra quem quiser zerar o jogo 100% MESMO, desbloqueie itens exclusivos na sua conta da Uplay, com os pontos da ubi, pra vc colocar itens e etc dentro do jogo. Definitely better then 1 and a good storyline. Especially not repeating over and over again with the missions which became a chore. Liked the weapons and idea you can pick up blades from enemies. Unfortunately though I didn't enjoy the game as much as I hoped for and it's ironic how this game is considered the best in the series for it's story, which I just couldn't like that much. Overall it's worth playing. Enjoyed attacking guards!

Assassin's Creed II | August 31, 2020 | [★★★★★] This just exceeded my expectation big time. I was kind of pessimistic starting it because of the last entry. But this game story and characters just blew its predecessor away. One of the things that make this a peak game to me was the pace. While progressing, I always have in the back of my head thinking; when will the game become repetitive like the last one? It doesn't, It just becomes harder and harder in a better ways while also giving you a much improve equipment and ways to deal with the task you're supposed to do. A great load of history learned while they still manage to connect it through the story, Landscape to not just Parkour at but also learned their past & as well having some of the greatest monologues I've heard in video games.

My activation key worked fine. I bought it just to find out. This will be the 6th copy of AC2 I own now. Second copy on pc. It runs great, at a solid, and i mean solid 60fps. Audio sounds better than ever. The controller button layout was a little off and needed rebinding. The triggers do not register so i had to use the bumpers instead. Multiplayer is dead. The price went down when servers were shut down so they are not charging you for that feature. Of all the AC titles i think this was the defining title. Ezio is an iconic figure. If you have not played it yet. I recommend playing one and two in a weekend sitting. Further more I have great respect for Ubisoft Montreal and there team. Uplay and Ubisoft problems aside, on a personal level, the team from Montreal and Quebec is just outstanding. An oldy but goody. Just get it, it works.

The game CD key doesn't work from Steam and Ubisoft support said they couldn't fix it and talk to steam. Steam said talk to ubisoft. Created a case so hopefully it gets resolved, it may be a great game but haven't been able to play it yet.

Interactive Historical Fiction Simulator, Italy, circa 1480-1500 If there's one thing the original “Assassin's Creed” could showcase, it was naked ambition. There was absolutely no way to miss the sheer potential that game offered. So if there's one thing this sequel showcases, it's unmitigated realization of that potential. Ten years after it's release and it's still an amazing, well-recognized, well-loved game. Bigger story, bigger scope, bigger set pieces, bigger characters. It's incredible in nearly every conceivable way and not just because things are bigger. All of it's components have been developed and refined to reach immense levels of satisfaction with near perfect delivery. The way Ezio's story interweaves through the history of Florence's ascendancy as the premier republic of the western world in the late 15th/early 16th century is tremendously well done. It offers an intriguing parallel for human agency, growth and desire for change during a time where those characteristics were embodied in the politics of the age. It also offers just enough historical accuracy to entice players to learn more about the era. In short, it offers a wonderful blend of imagination and incentive to encourage further thought on the debate of one of the game's central themes (a question asked in the world outside of the game, as well): security or freedom, and at what price either? In so doing, AC 2 puts its indelible stamp on not only the franchise, but video games as a medium. There are some things that prevent it from being perfect, though. The parkour elements, while significantly smoother than the first game, still have occasional spasms of randomness. For example, without adjusting the movement or camera stick, the game will sometimes think you wanted to move onto a ledge a yard away and to your right, so Ezio will float right, then turn ninety degrees and leap into open air. To be fair, this happened rarely and it truly didn't seem to matter if Ezio was being chased or just tooling around. Sometimes, you're just not in control of your actions. Regardless of the game's overall statements, I don't quite believe this is an example of deliberate, intentional, subtle messaging. ;-) Combat controls are better than the first game as well, but there are still frequent bouts of unresponsiveness that'll leave you scrambling to finish an encounter that otherwise presented no real challenge. Additionally, sometimes when you lock on, your target will show remaining health. Sometimes that doesn't happen. Also, there must have been some rules about poisons I didn't learn since I was never able to successfully use them... at all. Not that this prevented me from shanking targets with the hidden blades, anyway. While the combat animations and movements were brutal, combat itself got repetitious enough that it began to border on tedious. Certain story decisions could leave you scratching your head from a consistency/continuity standpoint. For example, if Ezio and company knew they were working against the clock to prevent someone from being poisoned, why would they continue a multi-step plan so far from the mark when they learned that the poison (and poisoner) were INSIDE THE MARK'S HOUSE? Due to the same factor for plot points everywhere, of course: reasons. Riiiight. The only other beef I had with AC 2 was the length. All things considered, it ran a little long. My in-game 'time played' was just over 26 hours; that figure includes ~95% completion of the manor and ~75% total 'memory synchronization'. I did EVERYTHING in Florence (side jobs for assassination, beat 'em ups, deliveries, treasure searches, etc) but virtually nothing else in any other area. This Deluxe Edition includes the DLC for memories 12 and 13, so those were synced but without the 'special memories' completed. Notable exceptions: recovered seals from all Assassin's Tombs (San Marco's tomb was out-freaking-standing) and synced all viewpoints ('cause why wouldn't you do that in a game that so actively encourages sightseeing and exploration?). What I'm saying is: I feel like I barely scratched the surface for optional content (thus spent very little time away from the core game/story) and still felt that things dragged on a bit. I was ready to say my goodbyes to Ezio, however temporarily, a few hours before that amazing, epic set-piece of a finale. Consequently, the last act was missing a bit of its luster, lost a bit of its magic. In all seriousness, the above circumstances are outliers. Yes, you'll encounter a few situations with janky controls or poor/contrived plot development but they really are the exception to what it is otherwise, as a rule, a pretty fantastic game. Two thumbs up. Numeric ratings: 8/10 if you're new to this sort of thing (or just aren't familiar with AC's mix of action, adventure and exploration), 9/10 (and an unconditional recommend) if you already enjoy the franchise. This reviewer is very glad to have finally parkour-ed through Renaissance Italy.

I will preface this review with stating that I am a huge fan of the Assassin's Creed series, if you look at any of my other reviews on Assassin's Creed games, you will see something resembling this statement. I simply say this to infer that my reviews may be somewhat biased in a positive way for this series. Now with that out of the way, time for my review of Assassin's Creed II. Assassin's Creed II was a welcome sequel to it's predecessor, while also improving on it in almost every single way. Personally, I absolutely love this game, which is the reason I have replayed it on PC. Sure, I didn't 100% but I completed the main story as well as obtaining some side quest items that requires a certain amount of time to complete. For most of my reviews, I like to start off with the story, in a brief summary, enough to give you the essence of the story but not too much to spoil it as a whole. Assassin's Creed II takes place directly following the ending of Assassin's Creed I. In fact, the story starts minutes after the first one ends. This is a part of the story that I really appreciate because it gives you the sense that you are starting right where you left off, even though the games were released a few years apart. Desmond ends up in the Animus once again, right alongside Lucy Stillman, someone that you can infer has quite an intimate relationship with Desmond at the end of the first game. Once Desmond enters the Animus, he relives the memory of another ancestor Ezio Auditore da Firenze, not of his earlier ancestor Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, which you played as in the previous game. Ezio was a Florentine nobleman that grew up in a very wealthy family, alongside his parents, his two brothers, and his sister. However, after a tragic accident, he turns to the Assassin order for help in enacting revenge against his offenders. Although at the time he knows very little of the order, he understands they are exactly what he needs in order to declare justice, and find peace. This storytelling point is what helps the player get invested into the character, something that most RPG games can fail at. You feel as you are just as much a part of the horrendous experience, as is Ezio and that is what I cherish about his motivations because you can empathize with him and you desire to help him achieve his goals. With a very fague synopsis, and I know I left much out, but I enjoy this game so much so that I want you, the reader, to play it yourself and enjoy every minute with fresh eyes, so I will go over the mechanics. If you have read my review of Assassin's Creed, you will learn just how simplistic the combat style, and fluidity of the movement system is, however I find this to be a positive thing in retrospect. The parkour in Assassin's Creed II is nearly identical to the parkour system in AC1, however with the addition of things like lifts to get to the tops of buildings quickly, the jump and grab movement which you obtain a little later into the game, as well as fun missions such as Leonardo Da Vinci's flying machine. Also, the combat style is also one in the same with AC1, however there are stats that go along with certain weapon variations which help in combat. Therefore if you have a more powerful sword, the more powerful you will be in contending with enemies which is very helpful because one thing that has changed between ACII and it's predecessor are the enemy archetypes. Assassin's Creed II introduces heavy enemies, as well as light enemies. Heavy enemies can tear you down if you haven't learned how to fight them, and these light enemies can chase you down if you decide to flee from the fight, both equally terrifying in the early game stages. The moves are all the same, if you care to learn more about that, you may read my Assassin's Creed review. Additionally to tie into the combat style, there are new tools at Ezio's disposal. Tools such as the double Hidden Blade, the Poison Dart, and the Wrist Pistol, all of which are obtained throughout the progression of the story and aren't bought in shops by the player. This game play mechanic I really enjoy because it makes the progression of the story much more interesting, as well as game play. There are a few more aspects of AC2 that I enjoy deeply, but I will have to end the review here so you may go enjoy it yourself. I end my reviews with my recommendations, and if you cannot tell, I love Assassin's Creed II, it is one of my favorites out of the series as a whole. It was, in fact, the first game that I came back to play because I was so excited to play this that I skipped over its predecessor. This game is a classic in the Assassin's Creed series, and I would recommend this game at full price without a single doubt in my mind. This game is a blast, and I hope my review has helped to sway you towards purchasing and playing it for yourself. Anyways, stay safe yall and God Bless.

I've played this game about 10 years ago for the first time and after all these years the story still fascinates me. The gameplay may be a bit rusty, sometimes repetitive, there are some bugs and glitches and the controls might be a bit scuffed, but all in all it is a very good game with one of the best stories I've seen in a video game and for sure the best story in the entire franchise. The difference between the first one and this one are very noticeable. I bought this game a few months ago when it was on sale. I played this game a lot when I was younger and had an Xbox 360, so I decided to buy the game and relive some of the nostalgia that I have for it. The game itself is great. It has clearly aged, but I don't find that to be a huge problem for me. The issue I have with this game is the necessity Uplay is, and the bad experience it brings. 1. You're required to have a Uplay account in order to play the game. 2. (my main issue with the game) I tried for at least an hour to get my controller working properly with the game. It wouldn't let me remap all the controls to their original functions, so I had do use other buttons. This was an annoying hindrance that persisted the entire time playing the game. I was able to enjoy the game for a few hours until I decided to be the game up again with a Uplay update. This update reset all of my controls for the controller and destroyed the work I put into fixing the controls for controller use. I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone who doesn't have/ want to make a Uplay account, and people who want to use a controller while playing this game. I will still probably play this game, but I think it is important for people to know before buying it that if these things are dealbreakers for you than you shouldn't purchase the game. If I knew what I did now I would not have purchased the game since I wanted to play the game as I did in the past with a controller. Edit: I forgot to mention that you're required to be online in order to play this game. I attempted to play it when I didn't have an internet connection, but Uplay doesn't let you. This is unacceptable for a singleplayer game.

My favorite AC game, by far. Not just because of the great memories but because this game has fantastic vibe. The opening scene where you race with your brother is one of the most amazing things in gaming. It still sits in me like I was playing it for the first time. The other thing I love about this game is a lot of different locations and cities, and they all have unique and unrepeatable feel to them. Sometimes you may get frustrated because of the climbing system and its glitches. But for me it never ruined the essence this game has. For me Assassin's Creed lived and died with Ezio Auditore da Firenze.

A great deal better than its predecessor (though I still recommend it, if only for the story/setting). Many improvements have been made. Better parkour (more fluid), combat (user friendly) and methods of assassination (hidden blade, wrist mounted gun, poison blade, etc). The zones are also much more unique, nicer to look at and peaceful. There is a lot of optional content (races, assassination contracts, courier missions, etc) besides the main story and you are in some cases rewarded with more than gold for doing it (e.g. being rewarded with a unique cape for collecting 100 feathers), etc. There are a few bad parts but not many. There are some minor graphical glitches and annoyances but nothing too extreme and the graphics are quite good overall. The game can screw you over occasionally, for example, during this one stealth mission, control of the character was taken away from me (to give me a birds eye view of the target) when I reached the top of the tower and consequently, I was detected by the guards who I otherwise would've been able to deal with if this hadn't of happened. This was after spending a good chunk of time dealing with the other guards prior so it was quite frustrating. The parkour can sometimes be temperamental. The contextual camera during Assassin Tombs/Templar Lairs sometimes does more harm than good. The 'Bonfire of Vanities' DLC was slightly monotonous but bearable. This is an extra sequence that has been woven into the game for the Deluxe Edition. You may not be too pleased to hear that you are REQUIRED to complete this sequence before you can tackle the final boss and conclude the game whereas originally you didn't have to. I would like to note here that the game crashed once during this DLC as I was hiding from the guards in a hay cart after I had just eliminated my target and of course I had to redo the assassination. Ultimately though, the good outweighs the bad and so I definitely RECOMMEND it. [h1] 9/10 [h1]

Assassin's Creed II was a classic when it released, Of course that was a long time ago, all the way back in 2009. Some games age well and others poorly. I was apprehensive about replaying Assassin's Creed 2 because the original formula grew somewhat stale before Ubisoft re-imagined the series in 'Origins'. But I was pleasantly surprised. The game looks and runs very well - a few tweaks via Reshader can really improve the graphics - and the game isn't bogged down by some of the time-wasting elements that plagued its sequels. It's just a solid Italian romp from start-to-finish and well worth your time. Not to mention, at a time when so many of us are stuck at home it was rather nice to visit beautiful cities such as Florence and Venice - if only for a while.

After revisiting Assassin's Creed 2 in 2020, I can honestly say it holds up as one of the greatest games of the previous decade, it's revolutionary gameplay mechanics compared to the first, the compelling story of vengeance and justice and the beautiful scenery and landscapes just make this game and not to mention the soundtrack just make it a masterpiece of a game.

Definetely, this is good old AC2, the classic. There has been said a lot of things about it, so ill just write what i personally can say about this. Pros: It's still beautiful, sometimes educational (and that's why i play AC games - to learn about the past in more interesting way) and just entertaining. Cons: there are still bugs and crashes. The most notable thing - the story goes into cliffhanger, and the last hours of storyline are just crumpled and very confusing, as if devs suddenly hit the deadline. A much more improvement from the original game. You go throw the tearful beginnings of young Ezio as he becomes a grandmaster assassin. Out of all of the AC games, Ezio's beginnings in AC2 shows you his resolve to fight his family's murderers. While it does show its age, I like how the story was told.

Played this game for the 3rd time. My favorite from the series, best protagonist, best story, awesome music/characters/game-play Truly recommend to play this one if you love the franchise!

VERDICT: Ah.... the memories are all coming back to me from this beloved game, I kinda dropped Assassins Creed after this one but i'm willing to give them all ago again but this one has got to be the strongest one out the lot, the story is gripping and the parkour is brilliant. I'm not too keen on the idea that the whole franchise is the same but i'd like to know the full story of Desmond so i'm going to stick this through. The controls are a bit clunky is certain parts of the story which makes it a little harder to control but it's pretty easy to bare with, I wouldn't bother with collecting the chests and the feathers because honestly... it's a pointless activity. Total Score = 94/100. SIMILAR GAME LIKE THIS? / REVIEWER PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: Assassins Creed franchise. GAMEPLAY: It is the second major installment in the Assassin's Creed series, a sequel to 2007's Assassin's Creed. The plot is set in a fictional history setting and follows the centuries-old struggle between the Assassins, who fight for peace with free will, and the Knights Templars, who desire peace through control. The framing story is set in the 21st century and follows Desmond Miles as he relives the genetic memories of his ancestor Ezio Auditore da Firenze. The main narrative takes place at the height of the Renaissance in Italy during the 15th and early 16th century. Players can explore Florence, Venice, Tuscany and Forlì as they guide Ezio on a quest for vengeance against those responsible for betraying his family.
