Armor Changes, New Helmets, and Active Headsets

In our first major update, we’ll add new helmets with Active Headsets, introduce new plate types and sizes, and reconfigure every Body Sleeve’s plate-slot layout.

We’ve rebalanced each Body Sleeve’s plate-slot layout while also adding several new Sleeves. As a result, the Hunter - formerly the go-to for most players - won’t stand out as much among the others.

We removed all dual-armor slots on the torso, legs, and hands, replacing the two Large-plate slots with a single slot for the new Assault armor plate (XL). It offers slightly less protection than a pair of Large plates but still soaks up plenty of damage - and several Sleeves can now equip Large plates in their hand and leg slots.

We’ve also added a fourth armor material type: Titan armor plates. Titan armor plates initially absorb a bit less damage than ceramic plates, but their superior durability lets them endure more hits in extended firefights. They’re also much lighter than ceramic or steel, so they impose a smaller movement penalty - though they do come at a premium price.

Basic polyethylene plates (UHMWPE) have been buffed, too. They now absorb as much melee damage as steel plates, though they’re still less durable than steel.

You can unlock all this new equipment in the Monolith after completing special objectives.

New Helmets with Active Headsets

Armor plates won’t save you from a headshot, so a top-tier helmet is indispensable. We’ve expanded our helmet lineup and introduced Active Headsets, which muffle loud and deafening noises (gunshots, explosions) while amplifying quieter sounds (sneaking footsteps, distant voices).

There are now two new helmets with Active Headsets: the EDH-Gen V, a solid mid-game helmet for operatives who haven’t reached late-game gear yet; and the TFMK-I, the most bullet-resistant helmet in the game, designed for the most experienced players.
We hope these changes unlock fresh tactical options and inspire further equipment experiments. Good luck in your raids, operatives!
