Das schlechteste Spiel, dass ich in der letzten (langen) Zeit gespielt habe ...

■Also das Game ist ein Remake bzw. ein Rebuild (ein schlecht umgesetztes)
▄ also muss man natürlich Abstriche machen, was Geradlinigkeit und Co angeht

Positives:
► Indiana Jones ähnliches Ambiente
► viele kleine Rätsel

Negatives:
► die Rätsel sind so einfach, die beleidigen meinen Intellekt
(außer die Bombenentschärfung ... da bin ich nicht dahinter gestiegen)
► Movement des Charakters ist grottig (Tomb Raider 1 war sogar besser)
► super geradlinige Story (keine Seitenwege möglich)
→man wird von Rätsel zu Rätsel geschmissen
► Handlungen sind teils dumm/sinnlos (ist steh vor einer Wache, verstecke mich, aber rede durchs Walktalki)... fällt auch gar nicht auf
► sie haben es nicht hinbekommen bei einem Remake/Rebuild eine deutsche Sprachausgabe zu integrieren
und das ist eine mega Fail für mich, sry.

Das Game ist Zeitverschwendung (wobei 6 Std. Spieldauer naja ...)

Das Spiel ist überhaupt nicht toll. Macht kein Spaß. Man kommt nicht weiter. Sogar mit evt Lösungs weg geht es nicht weiter. Überhaupt nicht empflenswert. Bäume und Häuser schweben in der Luft. Man kann durch Mauer gehen.

Nettes Game für Zwischendurch ;)

Anleihen an Indiana Jones sind vorhanden, allerdings mit einem weit weniger coolen Charakter.
Da ich bereits Adam's Venture Chronicles (dat Teil in Episoden) durchgespielt habe, wollte ich schauen was Origins zu bieten hat. Die Story und die Schauplätze sind die Gleichen, leicht angepasstes Gameplay und guter Zusammenschnitt der Levels. Alles in allem hat es durchaus Spaß gemacht.

Ein Spiel, welches in Richtung Uncharted/Tomb Raider geht, was sich allerdings nur auf die Rätsel-Elemente und die Story fokussiert. Keine unnötigen Sammelquests, Action-Szenen oder nervigen Side-Quests. Zwar ist das Spiel nach 3 - 5 Stunden durch, trotzdem mag ich es. Kann man mal spielen.

Adam's Venture ist etwas für Adventurefans, die gern anspruchsvolle Rätsel lösen. Die Rätsel gleichen sich vom Aufbau zwar immer wieder, aber der Schwierigkeitsgrad variiert. Gleichzeitig ist das Frusttrationslevel sehr niedrig. Das heißt, dass man a) nicht ewig nach Gegenständen suchen muss, weil die im Spiel immer klar markiert sind und b) man mit etwas logischem Denken und Geduld nach und nach alles gelöst bekommt. Die Spielzeit von knapp 12 Stunden ist leider kurz. Die gute Geschichte, die guten Sprecher die sehr guten Rätsel und Graphik machen Lust auf mehr. Kaufempfehlung. Da die Spielzeit allerdings so kurz ist, würde ich es nur zu einem reduzierten Preis kaufen.

Ich weiß nicht wie ich es sagen bzw. schreiben soll. Zum einen hat das Spiel einen recht kurzweiligen Charakter /in 6 Stunden war das Spiel durch ;-( und ist auch nicht (für meinen Geschmack) besonders anspruchsvoll mit Ausnahme von 1 oder 2 Rätsel,
Was aber an diesem Spiel am meisten stört, ist der Preis, den ich für so ein Spiel absolut überteuert finde.

Man merkt dem Spiel das Indie-Budget an und dafür ist der Kaufpreis (38SFr.) viel zu hoch. Die Grafik, das Setting und die Umgebung sind ok, dafür die Animationen zienlich schlecht. Die musikalische Untermalung präsentiert sich mittelmässig und die Dialoge wirken sehr aufgesetzt. Hier hätte man mit ein wenig Humor und guter Musik die fehlende Atmosphäre erzeugen können. Die Zwischensequenzen sind auch eher billig umgesetzt.

Die Rätsel an sich sind mittelmässig bis gut, aber nach einiger Zeit auch nicht mehr sonderlich innovativ und manchmal nervig. Das Herumschwingen und -schleichen gefällt mir wegen der eher hakeligen Steuerung nicht. Es ist kein von Grund auf schlechtes Spiel, aber definitiv keine 38SFr. wert. Ich hatte viel mehr erwartet.

Picked this up during the last summer sale and I'm glad I did. It was great game and was very well done. The story was fairly straight forward but enough to keep me interested. The puzzles were challenging but not to the point where it was completely frustrating. The overall game controls were spot on and worked fine.

In the final analysis, if you're looking for a solid game that can be played in one day, I highly suggest picking this one up.

I can not recommend this game, I got it for 1€, and I still couldn't recommend it.

-Puzzles are fine,not very mind breaking, I guess, but repetitive at times which makes it uninteresting and boring.
-There is ¨platforming¨ and ¨parkour¨, (Also repetitive w/o any interesting thing to do, hook that, jump on that, repeat) quotes because jumping and the grappling hook are quite bugged, which can cost you some minutes repeating tasks.
-Collisions with the enviroment are bugged
-Camera glitches at times.
-Lame, rushed and lazy story it doesn't make any sense at times.
-Plain characters, the protagonist is an arrogant who constantly talks about how great, charming and handsome he is.
-Voice acting is lazy.

Game is just rushed overall, I haven't played the previous games, but they look better than this thing.

My computer sounds like an airport with multiple jets landing whenever I'm playing this game which is hilarious because I've played more graphically demanding games on my Alienware than this. It looks pretty in the screenshots but once you get down to the brass tacks in your hind-end of playing this game all bets are off. Prepare for falling through the map, merging into scenery, screen tearing and much, much, much more!

The plot of this game is basically Congo with our doofus hero Adam and sidekick Evelyn on a quest to stop some baddie treasure hunters from raiding Solomon's mines (more or less). I didn't play the originals in this series but this redux takes a few pages from Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones and Deadfall Adventures in its journey from coast to coast. It's not as good as any of those games IMO. With its shaky platforming, stuttered framerate and Z-grade dialogue/exposition.

I don't want to say I haven't had any fun with it. I'm 4 hours in and close to the finish and finish I'm gonna. Some of the puzzles were fun, the set/settings aren't all bad and I love this type of adventure hokum, so at the 99 cents I paid for it on sale, I've more than got my money's worth. And that's what I'd recommend paying for it; 99 cents. If you go in for the full $20 on this sucker then you're a far braver adventurer than I.

Unreal engine and spelunking? What could get in the way of this fun premise? Biblical nonsense, sexist comments on gender norms, and linear solutions robs the game of the adventures it seeks to deliver. Stick to Indiana Jones if you're looking for wholesome treasure hunting. If family friendly is paramount, then spend your time and resources on the LEGO games.

As you take control of Adam Venture the adventurer (sigh), you are pleasantly surprised when you meet Evelyn, your father's new secretary. Together with this attractive young lady, you start your journey to uncover the secret of Eden.

Excavations in 1928 in an old French church exposed Templar symbols that provide a new approach for a treasure hunt. The findings lead you on a search for the four rivers out of the book of Genesis.

Actually, the story isn't that important, because the strength of Adam’s Venture lies in its very many puzzles and gameplay. Unlike his adventure colleagues, Adam does not resort to violence to solve problems but uses his head. The game successfully switches between logic and combination puzzles and offers a great variety of puzzles with mixed levels of difficulty. For the most part, I found the puzzles rather simple but there were some that left me puzzled.

Less relaxed than the puzzles is the technical implementation of the game. Although it's an HD remake, not everything is optically up to date. Rigid animations are a little annoying and dialogues are stiff and sound artificial. Players can almost count themselves lucky that the speakers often get lost in background noises.

Besides the puzzles the games offers some action sequences where you have to swing to distant ledges or speed through old mines in trolleys Indiana Jones style. Like the puzzles, these sequences are enjoyable and fun to play.

If you like puzzles and can accept that Adam Venture is not an AAA but an indie game, Adam Venture clearly deserves a recommendation.
I would not recommend the game for the full price but if on sale it's sure worth a buy.

Pros:
- nice graphics
- very enjoyable puzzles
- very many puzzles which mixed diversity
- enjoyable action scenes
- you don't only have to solve puzzles but also figure out what the puzzles expects you to do. That's not always clear but fun to find out.
- very many and fair save-points
- good atmosphere of the golden 20s
- overall good level of puzzle difficulties
- swinging with the grappling hook is fun
- good sound effects
- easy achievements

Cons:
- not the best story
- artificial, stiff dialogues
- rigid animations
- cumbersome climbing, you have to stand close to the edge so it works
- Adam is not very charismatic and often treats Evelyn very rude/sexist.
- music from the trailer is not part of the game

It's a superb game filled with family-friendly non-violent adventure. Feels like Tomb Raider, but a bit more down to earth. The gameplay mainly consists of solving various puzzles as you search for king Solomon's temple. The voice acting could be better, but other than that and a few bugs I encountered I thoroughly enjoyed the game. People say that Adam's Venture Origins is a very mediocre remaster of the original game, but since I've never played the original before I can assure you - if this is your first time playing Adam's Venture, this remaster is a great way to enjoy the story and puzzles which offer a good 6 hours of tomb-raiding fun.

Tl;Dr Cliche story, wonky controls, uninteresting puzzles, fun to tear apart with friends.

I bought this game at a 90% discount and honestly I don't really regret it. The boys had a lot of fun watching me suffer through roughly 4 hours of gameplay. The first thing you will notice is the very interesting choices in sound mixing. The deafening snoring in the first scene had us laughing and it only got worse. The controls are not tight which is okay since the platforming is only called such because there are platforms involved. The story was very cliche, featuring an Indiana Jones type MC with the stupidest hat and just the worst lines (We can kill two stones with one bird). Adam Venture (Danger trembles at his name, as he so often remarks), goes on a worldwide adventure to discover the treasure of King Solomon accompanied by his not-love interest Evelynn. I cant in good taste recommend the game but I also cannot say we didnt enjoy it.

I spent maybe 45 minutes into this game. It could have a great storyline, however there are various bugs and gameplay issues that made it (funny) unbearable to continue any further. In the first 40 minutes I fell through floors into oblivion, walked through walls, trees, boulders, and fences. My grappling hook seemed to have glitched out and started going haywire, preventing me from using it again without reloading.. This game just doesn't feel finished. Im going to have to give it a 2/10 overall. This could literally be the best storyline game ever, but because I cant get past the first hour without GAME BREAKING bugs, such as one that force shut me down, and I lost my progress entirely (Which is why I am now here). Sorry Vertigo Games, please try harder.

Loved the game but its filled with bugs, You cant play the stupid game with a beast of a setup and it still has whitescreen issues. You wont be able to see anything just music playing and everything is black. no option no nothing. Changed resolution but didnt work full screen half the F*** screen.

This was a BLAST to play. Perfect for playing around Easter.

cons:
- dated graphics when it comes to movements and faces
- a bit on the short side
- some performance problems on my GTX 1070

pros:
- clean, fun story that both religious and non-religious people can enjoy
- beautiful and fascinating areas to explore
- makes you feel like Indiana Jones
- love the hook mechanics

I hope someone can make this work with the VRgin VR injector. It would be AMAZING to play in VR.

Great game - the graphics are a bit dated and the Han Solo/Princess lea bickering gets on your nerves but the rest is excellent - the story and exploration are good, the puzzles are fun (the most difficult aspect is working out what you are meant to do - once you work that out the puzzle is usually quite easy (not you 4 rings)). If you can get this on a discount then go for it.

This is a nice game to play with the kids. It's difficulty is simple for adventure games. The areas are easy to make it through and the puzzles are just challenging enough to take a minute but too hard for a 10 year old.
Compared to other games that are willing to make something for the Christian audience this is a great example that it can be done.
Are there better games out there, sure. Are there any other Christian based games that are actually fun to play with the kids? Nope this is the best there is right now. I hope that more people make games that stick to positive ideals and are fun to play with the family.

This is a fun point & click adventure game, with a lot of different locations and puzzles. Lots of fun for those that like the genre. The stealth sequences at the end are quite tricky!

I'll preface with this, PLAY THE CHRONICLES VERSION. Origins does some neat things like adding in the need to be stealth, adding in the grappling hook and some gameplay elements that go along with it. Some level redesigns were noticable and graphically appealing. However, these additions do not replace the amount of puzzles that have been removed in this remaster. If a lot of the puzzles from Chronicles were still in this game, I'd probably recommend it to a newcomer to the series.

I believe this game is worth buying and playing for less than the $2 sale price if you enjoyed playing Adam's Venture Chronicles ($0.99 on sale -- buy it!) first.
