Echt Schade was sie aus der alten Version gemacht haben.. läuft super ruckelig.. selbst mit 3070er und i9 10k
die alte Version war hundert mal besser.. das selbe gillt für A+O 3..

Spürbar an das erste Spiel angelehnt, dementsprechender Nostalgietrip! Mega cooles Detail so viele Anlehnungen an andere Spiele einzubauen (mein Favorit war Larry Craft, der hat mich echt zum Lachen gebracht!). Steuerung am PC etwas hakelig, wenn man beim Laufen zwei Tasten gleichzeitig drückt, also zB oben und rechts, kann man nicht mehr springen. Beim Platforming absolut tödlich! Die Gegner sind optisch und von der Mechanik unterschiedlich und dementsprechend in der richtigen Kombination gefährlich, sehr geil gemacht! Die Pacman Zenturios nerven am meisten, die sind echt stark :D! Level Design auf jeden Fall dem ersten Spiel würdig, hab mir das ein oder andere mal das Hirn zermatert was wie wo zu tun ist, so kam nie Langeweile auf! Was ich nicht ganz verstanden habe ist warum man am Ende eines Levels wieder halb zurück laufen musste, um eine andere Abbiegung zu nehmen und weiter zu kommen. Ich denke das hätte man anders machen können. Die Endgegner fand ich sehr interessant, ganz anders als beim ersten Spiel, aber auch einem Endgegner angemessen, hat Spaß gemacht gegen die zu spielen! Alles in allem auf ner Skala von 1-10 würde ich sagen 9. Wegen den Kleinigkeiten mit Steuerung und dem zurück Laufen keine 10, aber absolut empfehlenswert! Gerade die, die das erste Spiel mochten, sollten sich das reinziehen! Well done, developers, proud of you! :)

Nostalgischer witziger Brawler mit dem typischen Obelix&Asterix-Humor.

Es parodiert fast jedes großes Gaming-Franchise was bis 2006 da war (Ob in der Welt ausgestellt, oder als Gegner).
Das 2018er Remake sieht gut aus, klingt so gut wie das Original und ist immernoch ne Mordsgaudi... vor Allem mit der Musik.

EDIT:
Spiel Storytechnisch durchgespielt und nun am Collectables sammeln gewesen.
War ein Spaß auf Schwer

Wo fangen wir denn mal an? In dem besetzten Gallien 50 v. Chr. gab es ein Dorf was sich erfolgreich gegen das römische Imperium standhaft wehrte. Die 3 tapferen Recken Asterix, Obelix und Idefix die man steuern kann begeben sich auf die Reise um ihren Magier und Zaubertrankbrauer Miraculix zu suchen. Sie bereisen dazu einen riesigen Vergnügungspark den Cäsar erschuf mit dem Namen Las Vegum. Dieser ist in 6 Abschnitte unterteilt die man nach und nach bereist um dort überall Horden von römischen Legionären zu verdreschen und Rätsel und Aufgaben zu lösen.
Das Spiel als solches ist recht einfach gehalten und hierbei handelt es sich um den 2. Teil der Serie die schon angestaubt für Konsolen erschien. Auch dieser Teil kann seine Herkunft nicht leugnen was sich in der Steuerung und Kameraansicht zeigt. Leider ist bei dem Spiel auch kein freies Speichern möglich und die Ladezeiten könnten kürzer ausfallen. Die Bewegung erfolgt mittels der Pfeiltasten und die Interaktionen größtenteils mittels WSAD. Die Grafik wurde kräftig aufgebohrt was man besonders bei den Kloppereien mit den Römern bemerkt wie die sich unter den Hieben biegen, strecken usw. Man die Protagonisten auch in der klassischen Grafik steuern wobei ich die neue Grafik deutlich angenehmer empfinde. Überall im Spiel trifft man lustige Anspielungen unter anderem auch an Games. So wird man bei bestimmten Gelegenheiten von einem römischen Ex. Spion begleitet der stark dem Sam Fisher aus Splinter Cell entspricht oder in den Raufereien taucht ein antiker Super Mario auf der auch seinen Anteil an Dresche einfordert. Als Währung in dem Spiel hat man anstatt Münzen halt römische Helme die man so abgrasen kann oder sich mit dem Kampf gegen Römer verdient. Zwischendurch sammelt man auch andere Helme wo aber Kristall-Helme und Postkarten am wichtigsten sind.

Wer mit den kleinen Macken bei der Steuerung und Ansicht leben kann und zum Lachen nicht gerade in den Keller geht wird mit diesem 3D Action Plattformer sicherlich glücklich und auch die ewig wiederkehrenden Kämpfe werden einem so manchen Lacher entlocken bei den vielfältigen Arten der Hauerei. Wer Asterix und Obelix in jeglicher Form mag dem sei das Game als must have ans Herz gelegt da man es gerade sogar mit einem satten Rabatt bekommen kann. Für diejenigen denen das Game nicht ausreicht können sich freuen da gerade auch Asterix & Obelix XXL3 erschienen ist.

Von meiner Seite aus trotz kleiner Mängel gibt es eine klare Kaufempfehlung da der Humor dort für alles entschädigt.

Früher geliebt, heute hab ich es nicht lieb :/
Also für ein Remake oder Remasterd ist es leider gar nicht gut geworden. Viele visuelle Effekte fehlen, die damals auf der PS2 vorhanden waren, z.B das Leuchten der Helme...Der Sound hat eine richtig miese Qualität...Das Kombosystem ist negativ verändert worden...Die Weitsicht ist geringer als im Original...Einige Bugs sind da, die früher nicht waren...und viele kleinere Verschlimmbesserungen plagt das Spiel. Das es der Qualität der Remakes von Crash oder Spyro nicht entspricht, wusste ich, aber das es so schlecht ist, hätte ich nun wirklich nicht gedacht. So wirklich Nostalgie taucht auch nicht auf, da es 2018 schlechter geworden ist als das Original aus dem Jahr 2004. Die Enttäuschung ist groß.

Die Performance könnte auch besser sein, trotz 1300 FPS hat das Spiel Hänger und Ruckler. Die Grafikeinstellungen sind sehr mau...zur Auswahl steht Low, Medium und Max, sowie Fenstermodus ein und aus und VSync an/aus.

Die Vorfreude auf den 3. Teil ist damit komplett matsche^^

Wer kein wert auf Qualität legt sondern einfach nur mal ne Runde spielen will, sollte sich das Spiel im Sale gönnen, aber generell würde ich es nicht weiter empfehlen.

Ein schönes Asterix & Obelix Spiel. Insgesamt super gemacht. Wir können jederzeit zwischen ihnen wechseln. Auch wenn sie sich von den Angriffen nicht groß unterscheiden. Die Story ist ok, aber das ist nicht weiter schlimm, da das Gameplay überzeugt. Fans von den beiden machen hier nichts falsch.

+ Fähigkeiten kaufen (wie spezielle Angriffe oder Gesundheitsupgrades)
+ viel zum sammeln und suchen
+ Spielzeit genau richtig
(ca. 10-11 Stunden : ich habe es auf leicht durchgespielt, da ich keine große Herausforderung gewollt hatte + 100% abgeschlossen)
+ super Steuerung mit einem Controller
+ tolle deutsche Sprecher
+ Grafik gut
+ Andeutungen zu anderen Spielen wie z.B Splinter Cell, Sonic, Pac-Man, Rayman
+ einige Kampf Herausforderungen
+ Boss Kämpfe
- Soundtrack manchmal etwas befremdlich, hätte man einen besseren verwenden können

Das Internetus. Daran kann ich mich noch am besten erinnern. Und diese blöden, BLÖDEN Wannabe Marios, die mit ihren komischen Wasserwerfern einen SO auf die Nerven gegangen sind. Und der Cäsar-Palast. Und diese komischen Riesengladiatoren, die man besiegen musste, um einen Druiden zu befreien. Die Musik, die sich überhaupt nicht ernstnehmende Story, ein Miniatur-Eiffelturm...

Und alter, sieht das Spiel GUT aus! Und die paar kleinen neuen Features, die mit dem Remaster hinzugekommen sind! Endlich schnellreisen dürfen! Herausforderungen, bei denen man zusätzliche Römerhelme kassieren kann, mit denen man Sammelobjekte wie Figuren oder Fähigkeiten für Asterix und Obelix kaufen kann. Ein wirklich, wirklich großartiges Remaster zu einem meiner liebsten Kindheitsspielen. Schön, euch beide wiederzusehen, Asterix und Obelix.

Und ja.

Ja, die Römer spinnen bis heute noch.

Well sadly this is not a fine remake either, I guess XXL 1 is much better than this after all, unfortunately this one is also plagued by various issues and performance glitches such as fps drops which could be fixed with a hex editor, the battles are totally repetitive and the platforming isn't the best, oh and the graphics don't look as pretty and detailed like the first remake.

Quite long game! About 10h to finish it!
The game is increasingly difficult, as you learn new techniques and get more powerful via upgrades, I really like that part of the game.
Constant references to video games such as Sonic, Mario, Tomb Raider...
To be honest, when I started the game, I played maybe 30mn-1h and I stopped for months as I did not like the gameplay and camera much...Nevertheless I learned to like it when I tried it again.
It's not the best of games but it's still a pretty nice one.

Since a few weeks, this game is only running at 20 to 30 FPS. The solution? Changing three bytes of the .exe-file with a Hex editor - a solution that was found and shared in the Community Hub by a fan more than one year ago. Even though the devs were made aware of this simple patch, they still didn't fix it to this day. Obviously, that's not acceptable, so I'm unable to recommend the game until OSome finally takes care of that.

I truly wanted to enjoy the game. I really really wished Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 to be a decent game. Sadly, it is not.

I know that games based on cartoon franchise are usually mediocre. I know. But I like Asterix and Obellix enough to stand it being average.

The story told in Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 was not bad. Though it is stupid. Well, I expected this and do not mind.
...Just the story is being shown on a low resolution movies with poor rendering...

In a platformer aspect the game is not bad. Visually it is not bad either, though complexity of details is rather poor. Honestly speaking, it feels more a 3D platformer from 2000s than from 2018. But it was okay for me. What was not okay - invisible walls. Everywhere. I do not mean here edges of the world, but basic places that look perfect to be entered in or jumped on. Everything is covered in a slippery glass.

Models of characters are made splendidly, the way they move and strech was funny. It generally suits the franchise well.

Despite the low graphics complexity, the performance of the game is very poor. The amount of FPS was very low occasionally increasing to a proper value. Therefore I wanted to low the resolution, but changing it was causing the game opening in a small window mode. Heh.

Another thing is battling Romans. Many Romans. Thousands of them. You will beat them again. And again. And again again again. It was a horribly boring and a huge part of the game.
The most ridiculous battle occures next to a lava pit where you cannot push the Romans into, but they hit an invisible wall placed right in front of it. Damn.

Summarizing shortly, Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 is a decent platformer in general, but the poor optimalisation and tens of boring and super repetitive battles kills the title.
There are many way better games to play than this.

Aside the problematic fps bug(can be fixed), I can say that this game is decent.

Recommended especially if you like video game references, and not too difficult beat'em ups/Adventure games

Also probably buy it on sale

Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 - This is a remaster of an old favorite childhood game. Graphically, the game is very prettier. I took the game for myself, but the children also liked it.
So I definitely recommend this game for purchase and go to beat the faces of the Romans

Quick disclaimer: I never played the original version of the game, but I have to say that the remake held up quite nicely. The graphics, sound, music and gameplay was pretty fun and enjoyable. The only downside was that sometimes things weren't too clear on where to go or what to do. It sometimes showed you a cutscene of a location where you needed to go and then you have no idea on how to get there. Some challenges were locked for no reason only to find out that you need to clear all the enemies in the area (after multiple internet searches for answers). The combat got pretty repetitive after a while and the camera sometimes got stuck behind objects impeding your judge of distance/combat ability, but I have to say, that's about my only gripes with the game. The rest was pretty fun. The collection of postcards and diamond helmets, the voice acting which were the original cast from the TV series, I loved it all. Overall, I'd honestly recommend it to any Asterix & Obelix fans out there, it really held true to the comics in the combat manner specifically when you beat a Roman the shoes stay behind and that's honestly such a nod to the comics, I enjoyed it.

Definitely give it a go if you want a change of pace in your games!!

Good game, terrible port. This version is missing visual effects, has a terrible framerate, and adds bugs. Even the main menu is a straight downgrade. Do NOT buy this at full price.

Great game from my childhood. Funny story, beautiful scenery, nice cutscenes (even if a bit outdated) and overall great experience. Needed 10h to complete it 100% in hard, but I knew most of the locations of the helmets already.

How to fix the stupid 35-fps cap:

Go to the installation folder.
Open oXXL2Game.exe with a hex editor such as HxD.
Search for the Hex-value 55 8B EC 56 8B 75 08 8B 06 80 38 00 74 0F.
Replace the first three bytes with C2 04 00.
Run the game.

Very ignorant of the game developers to leave this be, that alone gets a thumbs down from me.

The game itself also falls in comparison to its prequel, which I'd recommend to anyone, any day.

Boring, very repetitive, and tries too hard to be funny by shoving in way too many references to other games. In the end, this just makes the game look extremely stupid as it is simply trying too hard. Not to mention the horrible technical issues the game still has to this day

Fun for a while, but it gets soo repetitive... it feels like work. You whack an endless barrage of Romans forever. There is an unlimited supply of them and they respawn the instant they are defeated so this whole exercise feels inconsequential and pointless. There isn't happening a whole lot that is meaningful. The game just spins its wheels and lets you do the same stuff over and over. There isn't enough depth to justify all that. When you get to repeat the exact same thing you already did but failed for some arbitrary reason - that's where I draw the line. You are punished by having to play the game more. And the references are out of control. In the comics they were smart. Here, they're cheap. You are not getting free bonus points for that. Maybe for one or two that are really clever but after the fifth it just gets eye rolling.

I'd say get it on sale , it's cool they dragged it off the PS2, the first game is generally the same though you can only play Obelix in certain sections and the potions were much rarer. The music is fine even if there aren't many tracks and all the videogame references are done pretty tastefully despite how many there are.

It's not the best and it can get pretty repetitive since your moveset doesn't really change and enemies don't really change your strategy. The worst part is [spoiler] every Boss fight being the same guy in different arenas including the final boss, but getting to fight an army of Caesars was a cool, on-point twist [/spoiler].

Presentation
As a european I grew up with Asterix & Obelix video games & comics during my childhood, Asterix: The Gallic War & Mega Madness are both games that I have particularly played for a long time as a kid, but as I grew up I got distracted by other games and totally forgot about this franchise's existence until I saw the recent games and I have to say as a fan of the old games, I'm quite disappointed of how badly the franchise has evolved over the years. Asterix & Obelix XXL 2 is a remaster of the 2006 title Asterix & Obelix XXL 2: Mission: Las Vegum which I never got to play originally, but like a lot of remasters this game does little to bring this almost 15 years old title up to modern standards.

Just like any other game in the franchise, XXL2 follows the story of the Gauls in their battle against the Romans trying to conquer their village, but this time around instead of the romans coming to them, they decide to take a trip to Las Vegum, a Roman city dedicated to the entertainment of the roman population, in order to rescue Getafix, the village druid which is suspected of treason. Las Vegum is built as a replica of the Roman conquests so you have a wide variety of locations like Venetia, Egypt and even the Gaulic village, so your mission is to pass each one of those locations which pose a challenge in order to reach Caesar's Palace and put a stop to him. Aside from Gatafix and Caesar there are only a few side characters that aren't your regular punchbag enemies, including a side villain by the name of Larry Croft, a parody of Lara Croft from the Tomb Raider games. If that reference is something that seems funny or appealing to you, you'll be glad to hear that there are many more references to other games and video game characters to find throughout the XXL2 world including Rayman, Sonic, Pac-Man and Mario, but that only scratches the surface as you can find a reference to almost any video games franchise popular during the PS2 era.

In case you haven't figured it out by now, Asterix & Obelix XXL2 is a game mainly built for kids and to that extent the story does have some charm in the same way the Spyro games do, but at the same time it lacks the small details of other 3D action-platformers of the era like Kao the Kangaroo, Spyro or Rayman, not to mention the many more that came on the market since. Jumping into the action knowing all that beforehand and setting your expectations accordingly there is still some fun to be had with XXL2 especially if you fit the game's target demographic and thinking back on it this is still a better product than any of the Asterix games I have played growing up, so as a kid this might be something you're interested in.

Gameplay
On the gameplay side probably the closest comparison to this game are the 3D Rayman games, as there are puzzle sections, platforming sections and button mashing roman-beating sections, but none of those are fleshed out in a significant way as the puzzles are quite obvious, but considering the fact that the game was mainly built for kids they should be and the platforming sections are easy and have no punishment for failing, as for most times if you fail a jump and fall there will usually be another platform below that will allow you to climb back up and retry the section in a matter of seconds.

On the combat side there is a lot of enemy variety in design, but that doesn't translate to variety in gameplay as most enemies require a similar strategy to defeat with some of the enemies you've encountered before, so the difference is mainly visual. Those combat sections don't really pose a threat either as both Asterix and Obelix are overpowered heroes by design that can take on entire roman legions without a scratch, and on top of that you have the power-up potions which instead of collecting and using whenever you want, only appear in certain sections and make our heroes literally invincible. The only challenge you might have are the literal challenges scattered throughout the world which task you with defeating a number of enemies on a time limit, but even so the challenge here isn't defeating them and not dying, but instead managing to defeat all of them in the given time and get the gold rank.

There is also the upgrade shop from where you can upgrade your stats like HP, gain new abilities and buy collectibles with your spare helmets, but since you can easily finish the game even without purchasing one upgrade this is once again something that not all people will get into and might forget it exists entirely, however they are required if you want to go for the gold in the challenges, so if you're looking to do all the side content, getting all the upgrades is included in that. Since this was originally a game from the PS2 era some issues of the time period are here including invisible walls and camera issues, but since the areas are linear instead of open world there is little incentive to stray from the main path aside from looking for the collectibles.

Graphics
The textures have been updated and the models for all the characters look pretty modern, but by design you can still figure out this game came out in the PS2 era quite easily as the world lacks the details and scenery present in modern games and you have things like invisible walls and fixed camera angles that will constantly remind you of the game's age. On top of that you have the visual effects which have either not been updated since the original version or have been updated so badly that you don't notice, with power-up effects that seem out of place in the remastered scenery and explosion effects that aren't cropped properly and are still limited to the 4:3 aspect ratio which was the standard back in the day.

Audio
If you are familiar with the Asterix & Obelix franchise you might know that the original voices are in French and not all games have been dubbed in English and from the ones that have been dubbed, I've seen some horrible voice-over work in the earlier games, but in XXL2 the English voice-overs are actually decent, although nothing spectacular, but it feels like the voices of both Asterix & Obelix would fit in a cartoon about them and I guess that's the best thing you can wish for when it comes to English voice acting in this franchise. The soundtrack is okay although can become repetitive if you stick around in an area for too long as the same track will keep replaying, as for the audio effects, just like the visual ones, most of them feel like they've been neglected in the remaster treatment.

Extras
It takes around 8 hours to finish the main game, but if you decide to do the side content too and get the gold rank in every challenge along with finding all the collectibles the game will keep you busy for another 3-4 hours. There is no incentive to do that aside from the achievements as there are no in game rewards for completing challenges or finding collectibles, but if you've enjoyed the main game, at least there's more of that.

Verdict
Asterix & Obelix XXL2 is mainly a game designed for kids, as the difficulty level is almost absent and the gameplay is simple to grasp as even if you fail to do combos, just mashing buttons randomly is enough to get through the main story, however you might have some fun with this game even as a teenager or an adult especially if you like Asterix & Obelix as characters in general or grew up with the franchise in the same way I did, but considering this isn't 2006 anymore, there are many other better games in this genre for you to try out.

The 3D platforming just doesn't work because the camera often times has problems adjusting to direction that you're going. It can get very frustrating to play at times.

I started playing it again because of nostalgia but couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Asertix & Obelix is a pretty solid game:

Pros:
+ combat system is alright
+ little story
+ 6 maps
+ some special powers
+ boss fights
+ collectible stuff like Postcards and helms

Cons:
- sometimes are a bit to much fights
- some map parts are sometimes a bit annyoing

i cant say much about this game but its not good and not bad just solid!

This was such a blast from the past. I remember playing this when i was so young and now i just booted it up again and i felt like i remembered everything about the game even the small details. Thank you for remastering this game and bringing back memories i had as a kid

This is a tentative like. If your a fan of the Goscinny and Uderzo comics or like bashing romans there is a perfectly competent brawler underneath the tales, more legions than a god of war title, potions and humour. If your not a fan wait for a special and if your a brawler fan it might be a little simple for your tastes. Family friendly play if cartoon violence is not vetoed, and difficulty punchier than Spyro - you will try again but if it was too easy you may just leave and say it was a kid's game.
