In Still Life 2 verbirgt sich die Antwort. (rondomedia)

Netter Zusatz der Still Life Reihe, aber kein wirkliches Muss.

Selten so wütend gewesen!

In diesen Momenten bekommt man immer extremen Zeitdruck, was ich persönlich in absolut jeden Spiel abgrundtief hasse.

Gutes Krimi Point&Clic.

Neugier, Nervenkitzel, Überraschung, Verzweiflung, Wut dies alles liegt bei Still Life 2 sehr dicht nebeneinander.

I'm iffy on this one. I liked it, but the whole reveal of the East Coast Killer felt a bit convoluted with how many people were involved. Plus, there were more glitches on this game than the first one, so I think I do prefer the first one overall. But I think this one is worth a shot too. It's cool to be able to play as a victim in this too.

If you liked Still Life 1, don't bother with this. It starts meh and goes on completely rubbish. Most of the game is a pixel hunt for details you can't really see (given the very limited resolution) which are required to progress. Most of the puzzles are nonsensical, too, with plot holes scattered all over the place. I was playing with my girlfriend and had to use a walkthrough just to discover there was a single, specific, almost invisible point I had to click on to discover a clue. What a shitshow.
Do yourself a favour and avoid this one.

Still Life 2 is an adventure/detective point-and-click game and the sequel to Still Life. The first game ended on a cliffhanger, so I bought this game for closure (and it was on sale for under 1€).

For a game that was released in 2009, it has nice graphics. The locations are detailed and mostly fun to explore. The main character is still unlikable/annoying, but has a few surprising instances of character development. Not enough to be a good and likable protagonist in my opinion, but still acceptable. The voice acting and quality of dialogue is pretty mixed. There are a few instances where dialogue is missing, the voices of the two protagonists are often mixed up, and the volume changes from normal to quiet etc.

The movement and camera mechanics are wonky at best and buggy at worst.

The story is not as strong as Still Life 1, but still enjoyable. There are a lot of plot holes and unbelievable/ implausible twists. The protagonist suffers from flashbacks where we learn the story and resolution of the first game. I am not satisfied with the conclusion of Still Life 1 and the ending of Still Life 2 was also very unsatisfactory.

I am super happy that this game allows us to use the evidence kit throughout the whole game to gather evidence. In Still Life 1, you could only use it in the beginning of the game.

While we had a few puzzles to solve in Still Life 1, there were nearly none of them in this sequel. Instead, we mainly had to gather evidence, collect items, and use them at the right time and place. I wouldn’t have minded this so much if they hadn’t implemented this terrible inventory system. Basically, you could only carry a fixed number of items in your inventory; depending on their size and shape. Since the game takes places in one location (and one small room in the beginning) you backtrack a lot. Add to that the need to regularly find storage to change your inventory and it quickly becomes boring and tedious.

One of the things I hated the most was the timed sequences. Timed challenges can be interesting and build up tension if done right, but this game just overdid it. One timed challenge after another! Combined with the wonky movements, there is barely enough time to think about and execute the solution.

This game suffers from a lot of different game breaking bugs (just look in the discussions etc). I encountered three of them so far, where I had to reload an older save and redo everything. There are several places in the game where you have to receive a call to progress in the story. I did not receive any calls and only restarting a previous save game triggered the calls for me.

I cannot recommend this game to anyone. If you want to see the conclusion of the first game, watch a playthrough on Youtube and save yourself the ordeal.

The game is good, and good for those who would like some closure from the first game. the glitches are not really as bad as I thought (except for some reason the metal detector is still on her arm even when I had it in inventory) but overall, its a 6.5/10, good game, but not as good as Still Life 1.

Not nearly as good as the first one. Multiple saves is absolutely needed or else you get stuck cause bugs! As an early example, I tried to give Paloma the antidote but it was not the antidote. She kept on living when she should've died. I knew I needed to get the electric chair running but she kept going on about the poison draining her strength. I was like wtf.. I already sorted that out? Thank god I had two saves in that cell.
Then it happened AGAIN in the morgue cause I put the powder in the bottle before the water and it wouldnt let me put water into it. I mean jfc... if it makes that big a difference in what order you combine items then why does it even let you combine them? Other point and click games doesnt let you do that but has the good old trial and error. Now I think I got stuck again. Wont let me open and read victorias texts from claire.

1) has basically nothing to do with previous games in the series
2) horrible controls and camera handling
3) horrible game design choices
4) sound did not work with HDMI cable (but Post Mortem & Still Life 1 had no problems)
5) idiotic villain motivation, cartoonish villain plan
6) extremely disappointing ending

Such a disappointing sequel to an amazing game. Loved the first game, finished it and couldn't wait to start playing the sequel, I was really excited to see where the story went, but I am just left with disappointment. It was a drag finishing the game, kinda forced myself to play it through to the end just to see the conclusion. Such a shame, when the first game was so great.

There so many chances for you to see yourself stuck coz a bug, with no chance to go on; that unless you literally save every few steps I guarantee you'll get frustraded with it in no time. It's a shame because the first one is so good, but because of those bugs I've barely finished the game, much less really enjoyed the story. In the end I saw a game with at least a little bit of potencial, but wasted in bad experience.

Words can't describe how disappointed I am with this game. I got stuck two f.cking times because of bugs... I even checked walkthroughs to make sure I didn't miss anything. I even reloaded an older save to see if it worked... it did... until the second bug showed up making it impossible to move on with the story.
Not being able to finish this game and having to watch gameplays on YT in order to see how the story ends broke my damn heart.
Still Life 1 was a masterpiece. This one is a disappointment.

Save often. For some reason, this game has a tendency to just crash. So just save all the time, OK? Great. They continue with the same problems as in the previous games, with an agent who is a complede dunce. Sorry, that goes for ALL the characters in the game. Every char they let you control, is in capable of understanding that it's OK to use the sampling on tiretracks, even though you haven't clicked on it, with the EYE icon first. God forbid that what's immediately visible to the naked eye, can be sampled. Oh yeah, and you can't pick up a pack of matches, before you've filled a lamp with oil. This game is so particular with it's hooks, that it's not even funny. There is ONE red thread through this game and heaven and earth forbid, that you aren't following that EXACT path.

The new problem they added? A frigging inventory management system. O no, you can't have a toothbrush in your pocket, while carrying a TV, that is simply impossible! It's not making the game interesting. It's not making it difficult. It just makes it a chore.

The control of your character is like trying to remote control an elephant on ice, inside a crystal glass shop. You have to FIGHT you character for it to listen to you. There is ONE thing that is making me FORCE myself through this game ... the story. If they paid even half as much time on fixing the constant bugs and mistakes with the gameplay as they did on the plot, it might have been a good game. I mean, come on, the translation is also so bad sometimes, that one have to wonder if they just used google translate.

Did they even have ANY play testing done. Like. At all? My guess is NO. Don't waste your time. Unless you want to get to a place in life, where you want to throw your monitor from a balcony.

Seven minutes. That's how much I could take.
First off that horrendous dirt-smudge menu killed me. Then the ridiculous lack of settings. Then, upon starting a new game I was shown what happened in the first SL, but the quality was of a [strike]good[/strike] cam recording of a CRT screen. When the actual story started and I saw those models and heard the dumb dialogue and very poor recording quality, I just gave up.
I loved the first game and was really looking forward to this one. Definitely not recommended.
