I LOVED this game as a kid. It's original release date was in 2001, so I was about 8-10 years old. I do still love this game, however, please note that this is an older game. If you play games on normal difficulty usually, you may want to play this game on easy. Games were a lot harder back then, and healing items are hard to come by, and save points are a thing. This game isn't as hard as something like Bloodborn or Dark Souls, but it is from the era of harder games. Keep that in mind when you are considering buying this. I do recommend buying it though because I still love this game! :)

One of my all-time favorite video games finally came to steam. This got a remaster earlier this year for ps4 / xbox and i bought it on ps4. I bought it here to show full support for the devs so they can hopefully do the same for BGDA 2 or champions of norrath. This is a phenomenal game, runs great (granted there are no graphics options, which will undoubtedly upset a few people) and is exactly how you remember it.
I recommend playing this with a controller. $30 may be a little steep for some, but I didn't think twice about buying this instantly. No regretti

It's kind of crap, but it's that good kind of crap that gets you a few giggles with zero brainpower involved and gives you a headache by the time you're done with it. Looting feels chaotic and weird. Hard to tell when you're dying until you're actually dead. Shameless Diablo/Gauntlet style game. Enjoyable with a friend (Remote play runs buttery smooth). A product of its time, really.

Also it's apparently made by the folks who developed the original Fallout games so there's that.

Definitely a port, not a remaster. This is a good game to experience nostalgia of playing with your older brother while binging mountain dew and cheetos. Is it a good game overall? It's dated. Combat system is wonky. The exp you gain in normal and hard are not worth the amount of effort it takes to kill monsters. Definitely enjoying myself relive 2005 though. Thank you developers! I hope y'all redo Champions of Norrath!

Such a great game. Have had none of the technical issues that any of the negative reviews listed. Played through the whole game in one shot to relive the nostalgia. Amazing game, perfect game if you need to turn your brain off.
Pros:
Cool D&D Lore and Environments
Can see the visual progression of your character as the game goes on
Unlockable Gauntlet mode
Unlockable Drizzt Do'urden
Rooms look awesome when covered in debri and meaty chunks after a battle

Cons
Twenty year old re-release with nothing new should NOT be $30, game is easily $15 or $20

A pleasant surprise to play this again after so many years. Time hasn't been overly kind to it, but many models seem to generally have been updated to higher-detail (unless it was ahead of its time?). The terrain is rather bland and low-poly, though there are patches later in the game that are better.

For it's price and half-hearted upgrade, I give it a 5. It's OK, though there are many amazing games in the same price bracket that probably should get your money first. But if you played it in your youth and want to experience it again, I doubt you'd regret it.

... Just make sure you're wearing your +5 rose-tinted glasses first!

Definitely recommend to all who have or haven't played it. Maybe if we make enough noise they'll give us Champions of Norrath as well.

Its the game you know and love. Options menu is pretty barebones, and sadly no online play, but other than that, it runs great so far. Here's hoping they will bring BG:DA2 and maybe the Norrath games to PC too :D
